Good Booze cruise and snorkeling

Waited in the hot sun on the pier for half an hour. Check in at the retail shop was easy. When we finally got to get on the boat the crew was efficient and helpful. They passed out our gear and instructed us on what to expect. The safety briefing was adequate and somewhat entertaining. The ride out to the reef, 45 min, was smooth and comfortable. There were about 100 people on board. the water entry was either down a set of metal stairs or a jump off the side 5 ft. The water was clear. There were a number of jelly fish to avoid which they warned us about. The gear was worn, but one size fits all. My partner is a big marine and the mask just didn't fit his face. No one offered to help him. Next time we'll take our own gear. ON the drive back we enjoyed the rum punch and champagne. They also had beer on tap.

This sunset cruise is a blast! The music, booze, and food is plentiful. The crew is fun and keeps an eye out to make sure that everyone's glass is always full. The live music is non-stop and the band is really good. A few things that would have made the experience better for us...there were no slow songs played, not one. I was really looking forward to dancing cheek to cheek, but that didn't happen. We also kept making the same big circle, stopping and lowering the sail at sunset would have made for a better experience for us. Plus the clouds completely covered the sunset...but that's not something they control...lol! Some suggestions to help out...looking for romance, go elsewhere, this is a party! Take some Dramamine before you go. Eat a light meal beforehand, there are some really great happy hour specials along the Bight that you should take advantage of. Check-in is at the booth on Greene St, not the boat. Check-in there and get your boarding passes BEFORE you go get a bite. The line gets ridiculous, so the earlier the better. Leave the kids at home. One last thing, do this early in the week when it is less crowded.

A wonderful experience. The crew is very knowledgeable & safety conscience, but a lot of fun. The boat was full because a cruise ship had just docked, so it was a bit crowded. Find out if a cruise ship is docking before you book. Did this with my 12 year old son. Great memory for both of us.

There are vendors down Duval street who can assist or you can wander right to the end of Duval Street where the boat actually departs from to use the booking office there. We used one of the vendors which was quick and easy. The boat set off slightly later then advertised, there was plenty of seating upstairs and downstairs. There were free soft drinks and free snacks (although the snacks did quickly run out). As this was a sunset trip we all arrived dressed ready for the night and it seemed that most people had the same idea. It was nice to stand upstairs in the fresh sea air watching Key West get further away as we headed out to the reef. The reef was definitely worth seeing, the sea had been calm all day so the viewing was excellent, the reef is the 3rd largest in the world and is about 7 miles away from Key West. We saw plenty of fish amongst the reef and even a nurse shark swam under us. The sunset (as always in Key West) was spectacular, shimmering across the sea to us. There were flying fish popping out of the water all of the way back and champagne was served to toast the sunset. We passed back along the Key West coast with many other boats that had been enjoying the sunset, it was nice to see the other boats - some very posh, some like ours and some party boats full of dancing. We passed back along Mallory Square and their nightly sunset celebration party was in full swing. The whole trip lasted around 2 hours so there was still plenty of time to enjoy the evening in Key West. We booked this for my parents wedding anniversary and it was perfect. Don't forget your camera!

A group of friends and I frequent Key West several times a year. We've done the Schooner sailboat ride several times and loved it but it was not available this time so we tried Commotion on the Ocean and loved it too. It was very different from the quiet sailboat that we take during the day but we have decided that we love it just as much. From here on out, we will have 2 boat rides on our trip.

We were seated on the boat when the Captain announced that, due to choppy seas at the Reef, we would be going to another snorkelling site on the Gulf side. Although it wasn't the Reef there would still be plenty to see, but you can leave if you want to for a refund. There was NOTHING to see ! Visibility was poor and other than a very few fish of no great interest and a few random lumps of coral, barren. If we had been properly informed of the limited interest at this site, we would have re-scheduled, but having been told there is plenty to see, you go with it. IF THEY TELL YOU THEY ARE NOT GOING TO THE REEF, GET UP AND WALK OFF. We felt that it was all about the money and nothing to do with customer satisfaction. They are obviously at the mercy of the weather, but should be more honest about the alternative.
