Radiohead World Tour Set For 2016
by Jack Sentell March 15, 2016, 1:43 pm
Videos by American Songwriter
Amid speculation surrounding their ninth studio album, Radiohead announced a string of headlining tour dates that stretch from May to October 2016. The dates include various headlining shows and festival appearances. A full list of tour dates can be seen below, although the band’s website also hints that more festival appearances will be announced in the future.
Despite the large number of shows on the band’s calendar, Radiohead only has four U.S. dates scheduled. The group will play two shows at New York’s Madison Square Garden on July 26 and 27 and two shows in Los Angeles at the Shrine Auditorium on Aug. 4 and 8.
The tour will be Radiohead’s first live performances since 2012, when they played shows in support of 2011’s The King of Limbs.
Because their last two albums were released without promotion, many fans are expecting that the Oxfordshire, England-band may release their newest project as a surprise as well. Radiohead formed the company Dawn Chorus LLP in October, an action the group also took in advance of releasing King of Limbs and 2007’s In Rainbows (via Consequence of Sound ) . The speculation is further supported by a previously unseen piece of album art-esque artwork, which the band uploaded to its Facebook account on Monday.
Most recently, Radiohead released “Spectre” on its Soundcloud account last December. According to the page, the song was written for the James Bond movie of the same name, but was ultimately not used in the film.

Radiohead Announces 2016 World Tour
It all kicks off this may in amsterdam..
A couple of months ago Thom Yorke and company announced their first shows in four years , but now Radiohead has expounded on those dates a bit, revealing a full world tour for 2016. Shows have been scheduled in Amsterdam, Paris, London, New York, Los Angeles and Mexico City, in addition to a previously-announced set of festival dates.
A statement says: “These are all the headline shows that the band will play in 2016.” They’ve also added an appearance at the Les Nuits Des Fourvieres in France to their commitments.
The status of Radiohead’s ninth album remains unknown, although guitarist Jonny Greenwood reported last year: “We didn’t do anything together for too long, so restarting took a lot of time. We’re working in periods now.”

Radiohead Announces Major 2016 World Tour
Radiohead fans, rejoice! The band is heading out on a world tour.
The English alt-rockers made the big announcement this morning with a post on their website . The 2016 tour will stretch from May to October, kicking off in Amsterdam and ending in Mexico City. Radiohead will also play a variety of music festivals throughout the summer, including the Secret Solstice Festival in Iceland and Osheaga in Montreal.
There are only four U.S. dates on the roster -- two at New York's Madison Square Garden and two at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
The tour announcement comes as Radiohead gets ready to release their ninth studio album, which currently has no date attached. The album will be a follow-up to 2009's "The King of Limbs," which brought us the hypnotizing "Lotus Flower." We'd say now's a good time to start practicing your Thom Yorke dance moves.
For a complete list of dates and locations, head over to Radiohead's W.A.S.T.E. site .

Radiohead will tour in 2016
The band will headline a handful of festivals this summer.
Rumors about the return of Radiohead have been swirling for months, and now the band has confirmed that they will play live shows in 2016, a run which will be their first string of shows since 2012.
Radiohead will headline Barcelona’s Primavera Sound Festival (June 2-4), Switzerland’s OpenAir St Gallen festival (July 2), and Lisbon’s NOS Alive festival (July 8). Primavera, which announced its lineup this week, will also feature PJ Harvey and LCD Soundsystem, both of which will release new albums this year.
In October Radiohead set up a new company , Dawn Chorus LLP, which fueled speculation that they would release a ninth album in the coming year. (They did the same for previous albums 2007’s In Rainbows and 2011’s The King of Limbs .) That same month, guitarist Jonny Greenwood wrote on Twitter that Radiohead had recorded much of a new album . “Lots has been recorded,” he wrote, “and we’re about to go through it all… to see if it’s any good. And we HOPE to tour next year: no plans confirmed yet.”
Though they haven’t shared any new music or updates from the collection, Radiohead did put out an alternative theme song to last year’s Bond film Spectre . Sam Smith’s “Writing’s On The Wall” was the official theme song, but frontman Thom Yorke tweeted that the band was asked to write a version. “It didn’t work out … but became something of our own which we love very much…” he wrote. As the year closes we thought you might like to hear it. Merry Christmas. May the force be with you.”
Check out that track below.

Radiohead Announces 2016 Tour Dates, Madison Square Garden Shows Already Sold Out
March 18, 2016
The band has also been rumored to be headlining Lollapalooza along with Red Hot Chili Peppers and LCD Soundsystem, though no lineup has been confirmed by the festival just yet. Radiohead last played Lollapalooza in 2008 after the release of In Rainbows .
Radiohead Announces 2016 Tour Dates, Two Shows At Madison Square Garden
It's been four years since Radiohead toured in the US. While there's been a few rumored festival lineups for the band this summer, there has been an official announcement for 2016 Radiohead tour dates. Unfortunately for fans in the United States, only four shows have been announced in the country. There's also two October shows in Mexico City, but those remain the only North American tour dates that have been announced.
The US shows will only take place in two venues, Madison Square Garden in New York City and Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The Garden shows will be back-to-back nights on July 26 and July 27. The Los Angeles shows will be more spread out on August 4 and August 8. In the middle of those dates, Radiohead is confirmed for the Osheaga Music Festival in Montreal from July 29 to July 31.
Radiohead tickets for the two Madison Square Garden shows will go on sale Friday, March 18 at 10am. Below are the full list of tour dates with North American shows in bold.
