  1. What does anyone think about Discovery's Klingons? : r/startrek

Star Trek VI had its own style of Klingons as well, one unseen in any other Trek (orange-ish with pink blood and lighter ridges) even though it was released while TNG was on the air. You'll also notice even in TNG and DS9 there are some serious inconsistencies like some Klingons have human teeth while others have spiked alien ones

  2. The Missed Opportunity of Discovery's Klingons : r/startrek

The Klingons' appearance had been successfully changed before, in the eighties. And actually, I don't remember any complaints at the jewelled purple Klingon in Star Trek into Darkness either. I thought the missed opportunity was that they had an opportunity to do parallels with real world conflicts.

  3. Where are The Klingons? : r/StarTrekDiscovery

IIRC we have yet to hear about the current status/whereabouts of The Klingon Empire in the 32nd Century. We're a season and a half into this time period and still nothing. Appreciate everyone's theories, thoughts, etc. on their status. Mine: They're alive and well, haven't been heard of since before "The Burn" due to some kind of ...

Star Trek: Discovery kicked off a new era of Star Trek shows in 2017, and Discovery's 1st season heavily featured the Klingons. However, the species underwent another dramatic redesign like they had in the TOS movies. 6. Discovery Must Answer A Major Star Trek Klingon Mystery

Star Trek: Discovery season 5 must address the status of the Klingons, as the iconic warrior race has yet to make an appearance since the show jumped to the 32nd century. One of the oldest and most storied alien species in all of Star Trek, the Klingons were the primary antagonists for Discovery season 1, as the United Federation of Planets fought a bloody war against the residents of Qo'noS.

Appearing as a guest on The 7th Rule hosted by Cirroc Lofton and Ryan T. Husk, director Chris Fisher explained why Strange New Worlds season 2 changed the look of the Klingons, and the reasons are based upon the needs of Strange New World s' story rather than a reaction to the negative fan outcry over Star Trek: Discovery 's Klingons.

  11. What Is Up With the Klingons in 'Star Trek: Discovery'?

The Klingons have been redesigned during the course of the Star Trek franchise. But, the Klingons in Star Trek: Discovery look radically different than any Klingons we've seen before. Their skin color is more purple than brown. Most appear to be bald (even Klingon women) whereas in the previous Trek TV series many had long hair.

  12. The Klingons in "Star Trek Discovery" look unrecognizable ...

I was on a plane this evening and watched Star Trek Discovery, The first and second episodes of the first season which feature Klingons as the enemy/antagonists. OMG I did not even recognize Klingons as they look nothing like Worf. My understanding is that chronologically The time period of Discovery was before that of the Original series.

  15. Star Trek: Discovery's Klingons Were More Accurate Than the TNG-Era

However, one particular element of the Klingons in Star Trek: Discovery was even more accurate than The Next Generation era iteration of the species: the language. The dedication and care put into creating the native dialogue for the Klingons in Discovery was at a level usually reserved for the feature films. In Season 2 of Strange New Worlds ...

  16. Star Trek Theory: Discovery Is Why TOS Klingons Look So Different

Voq Was A Klingon Surgically Altered To Become Ash Tyler. It's possible Star Trek: Discovery season 1's transformation of Voq into Ash Tyler is the forerunner to why the Klingons Captain Kirk faced in The Original Series didn't have the ridged brows and wild hair of later Klingons. Voq was the former Torchbearer of T'Kuvma who underwent surgery ...

  19. In Defense of the Discovery Klingons : r/startrek

And these Klingons definitely look more convincingly alien--less obviously human with a bit of forehead makeup--than the old ones. The thing that worries me is the darkness, spinning cameras, loud noises and lens flare. In any generation Trek was sort of something to watch an episode of then go to bed for me. A bit of exploring the imagination ...

  20. Star Trek: Discovery: All The Changes Made To Klingons

In Star Trek: Discovery, the Klingons have gotten a bit of a face-lift. When they first appeared in Star Trek: The Original Series, they were just normal humans with wacky eyebrows. 21. Why Star Trek: Discovery Changes the Klingons

The prequel series Enterprise even attempted to explain why the earlier Klingons looked so different from the modern ones - a noble effort with decidedly mixed results. Discovery's massive aesthetic overhaul of the Klingons is a bit of a surprise. While JJ Abrams' 2013 film Star Trek Into Darkness featured a new look for the Klingons, those ...

  22. First Look at Klingons in Star Trek Discovery? : r/startrek

There have been entire Trek novels that try to explain the silly inconsistencies and outright canon conflicts in the universe. For instance: the first time the changed how Klingon's look.
