The Klook Pass Seoul comes in a range of options starting from 44,000 KRW for 2 attractions and increasing in price up to 105,000 KRW , which is the price for 4 attractions plus entry to Everland.

Here’s a table to show the costs of the Klook Pass Seoul with each of the different options to help you see which one is best for you:

To compare how much you’d normally pay for each of the main attractions and add-ons, here’s a table to see their original cost to enter each of these attractions, which is what you’d pay if you bought a ticket on-arrival at each place.

If you take the 4 cheapest attractions from the list above and added their cost together, the total would be 97,700 KRW – that’s 26,700 KRW more expensive than the cost of the 4 attraction Klook Pass Seoul. There are combinations where the pass actually costs more than the attractions separately (only when using a combination of the 3 cheapest activities), however, most combinations of attractions and add-ons would save you a lot more than you’d spend.

Example Klook Pass Seoul Itinerary

A practical example itinerary for the Klook Pass Seoul could include a day out in Jamsil to visit Lotte World Adventure and Lotte Aquarium while wearing an Ewha school uniform.

These 3 attractions are right next to each other and could be done in a day. The original cost of these attractions would be 115,000 KRW, but with the 2 attractions + Lotte World Adventure add-on, it would only cost 71,000. That would save you 46,000 KRW vs. the regular price.

Is the Klook Pass Seoul worth it? I’ll discuss more about the costs and savings later in this article, as well as give my own opinions on whether or not you should buy it. Before looking at those details, here’s a quick guide about how to use the Klook Pass Seoul.

How To Use The Klook Pass Seoul

The Klook Pass Seoul is simple to use, which makes it perfect for tourists looking to effortlessly visit attractions as they travel. The process of using the Klook Pass Seoul can be broken down into the following 4 steps.

Step 1: Choose and purchase your pass .

Choose which attractions and add-ons you want to visit from the 9 different attractions available and then select the dates you want to use the pass. The pass is valid for 30 days and you can use the selected attractions at any time within those 30 days.

Step 2: Activate your pass by reserving activities in your bookings .

This is the most important step. You need to make a reservation for each attraction that you want to use. This means you will confirm a date that you will visit that attraction on the Klook website to make sure that your ticket is reserved for you. Details of this in the next sections.

Step 3 Use your pass on any date at any activity included within the validity period.

This is the best step – go out and enjoy the attractions you’ve booked! Bring your voucher, either printed or electronically, and show it when you enter. Simple.

Step 4 Check the package details for specific inclusions.

This isn’t really a step, it’s more of a reminder. There are some conditions for attractions and it’s good to be aware of them before booking. I recommend looking at the fine print for each one when making the booking and checking again before visiting. These are usually small things like needing to redeem the ticket in a certain place or confirmation about what’s included with your ticket.

Where To Buy The Klook Pass Seoul

You can buy the Klook Pass Seoul from the klook.com website. Once you’ve decided which combination of attractions and add-ons you want to buy and when the pass will be active from, proceed to the payment screen and enter your payment details. You can buy multiple passes together if travelling as a family.

Please note : you will need to create an account on the website to be able to use the pass.

How To Redeem The Klook Pass Seoul

After you’ve purchased the Klook Pass Seoul, you will be able to redeem the pass by making reservations for the attractions you want to visit when you visit Seoul.

You can make the reservations for the attractions in the following way:

• Log into your Klook account .
• Go to the ‘ bookings ‘ section of your account.
• Find your pass and click on the ‘ reserve ‘ button.
• Select the date you want to reserve.
• Follow all the steps to confirm your activity.
• Receive your voucher .
• Bring the voucher to the attraction.

Each attraction needs to be reserved separately, even if you’re visiting them on the same day. If you’re travelling as a family, each member needs to make the booking, too. You can buy multiple passes with one account. I recommend one person buying multiple passes in this situation so they can make all the reservations with one account.

How To Cancel The Klook Pass Seoul

If you haven’t made any reservations with your Klook Pass Seoul and decide that you want to cancel it, you can get a full refund. To be able to get a refund for the pass, you must not have validated the pass. That means you must not have made any reservations for attractions featured in the pass.

Once you have activated the pass (reserved or visited an attraction) at least once, it may no longer be possible to get a refund, even if you have remaining attractions that you did not visit.

Contact Klook customer service for refunds or changes. Log in to your Klook account and go to the Help Centre section of the website and then select ‘change booking’ or ‘cancel booking’.

Please note : once you have confirmed the dates of the activities by making a reservation, it is not possible to change those dates. However, the Klook help desk may be able to help you adjust those dates with the attraction owner. Send them a message if you need to change dates.

Klook Pass Seoul Vs. Discover Seoul Pass

The Klook Pass Seoul is essentially a more flexible version of the Discover Seoul Pass that doesn’t have fixed time limits of 24 | 48 | 72 hours. It allows you to visit the listed attractions on separate dates within a 30 day time period.

The attractions offered by the Klook Pass Seoul are mostly the same as the attractions offered by the Discover Seoul Pass. However, the Discover Seoul Pass has a wider range of attractions available, as well additional benefits such as including a T-Money Card, free transportation to or from Incheon Airport, and more.

Lower Price : The 24 hour Discover Seoul Pass is 50,000 KRW for the 24 hour pass, the cheapest pass available. This is more expensive than the 2 attraction Klook Pass Seoul, which starts at 44,000 KRW. However, you can cover a larger number of activities with the Discover Seoul Pass in a 24 hour period, making it better value for money overall.

Why Discover Seoul Pass Is Better Than Klook Pass Seoul

Here are the main reasons why the Discover Seoul Pass is better than the Klook Pass Seoul:

More Attractions : There are a wider number of free attractions available with the Discover Seoul Pass than the Klook Pass Seoul. There are 56 free attractions available with the Discover Seoul Pass, but only 9 with the Klook Pass Seoul.

More Features : The Discover Seoul Pass also offers discounted entry to some attractions. Furthermore, it includes the T-Money Card features and comes with a free AREX train ride between Incheon Airport and Seoul. The Klook Pass Seoul doesn’t offer any additional benefit besides free entry to attractions.

Collectible Cards : The hugely popular Korean K-Pop group BTS have collaborated with the Discover Seoul Pass to create the highly-collectible version of Discover Seoul Pass – the BTS Discover Seoul Pass . There is no physical card with the Klook Pass Seoul, so nothing to collect.

Is The Klook Pass Seoul Worth It?

Is the Klook Pass Seoul worth the cost? Is the Discover Seoul Pass a better option for travellers visiting Korea? Should you buy a Klook Pass Seoul? Well, that all depends on what you value most when you travel.

If you are a smart traveller who is willing to spend a bit of time checking the prices of various attractions online and comparing them to the cost of the Klook Pass Seoul, then it can certainly be worth it. However, the savings probably won’t be as big as you imagined they would be.

The Klook Pass Seoul Savings Are Misleading

The Klook Pass Seoul initially seems to offer big savings on premium attractions in Seoul, saving up to 52% in some situations vs. the regular entry price. However, Klook and other online tour companies also offer discounted entry to these attractions.

The amount of money you’d actually save would be much lower if you booked attractions through the Klook website vs. booking on-arrival at those attractions.

As you can see from the table above, it’s typically cheaper to book attractions through Klook instead of paying the cost of entry on-arrival.

Booking attractions ahead of time can save you a lot of money when you travel. However, using passes like the Klook Pass Seoul and the Discover Seoul Pass can potentially save you even more, especially when you consider the savings you can make on entry to theme parks.

Klook Pass Seoul Saves You Money On Theme Parks

The cost to add-on entry to Lotte World (27,000 KRW) and Everland (27,500 KRW) to the Klook Pass Seoul is much lower than the original cost to enter these theme parks and lower than the entry price offered on the Klook website. The table below compares the different prices:

The Klook Pass Seoul can save you 14,000 KRW against booking entry to Lotte World vs. booking through the Klook website. It can save you 35,000 KRW vs. the original price.

The Klook Pass Seoul can save you 10,500 KRW against booking entry to Everland vs. booking through the Klook website. It can save you 22,500 KRW vs. the original price.

Does the Klook Pass Seoul save you money vs. booking each attraction separately through Klook? That depends on which attractions you want to visit and whether you’ll add-on one of the theme park options.

Realistic Klook Pass Seoul Savings

Looking at the previous example of using the Klook Pass Seoul for a day out in Jamsil to visit Lotte World Adventure and Lotte Aquarium while wearing an Ewha school uniform, the actual savings would be less when compared to the Klook website price.

The original cost (on-arrival) of these attractions would be 115,000 KRW. The Klook website price (booked separately) would only be 82,000 KRW. The Klook Pass Seoul with 2 attractions + Lotte World Adventure add-on costs 71,000 KRW.

This means you would save 11,000 KRW , which is lower than the 46,000 KRW savings against the original cost. That’s still a good saving.

If you rented hanbok (19,800 KRW), visited Seoul’s royal palaces (not included) and later went to the nearby Alive Museum and Dynamic Maze (16,900 KRW) using the Klook Pass Seoul 2 attractions pass (44,000 KRW), you would actually pay 7,300 KRW more .

Final Conclusions

So is the Klook Pass Seoul worth it? Again, that all depends on what attractions you visit and whether you plan to book trips separately online or turn up and pay the standard entry fee.

The Klook Pass Seoul can be worth it if you want to visit a theme park and several premium attractions in Seoul. The more attractions you visit, the more you will save with the pass.

The benefit of being able to visit each attraction on separate day is a big advantage of the Klook Pass Seoul vs. the Discover Seoul Pass and allows you to plan your trip more flexibly.

Here’s an example of how you can use the Klook Pass Seoul to travel more flexibly:

Day 1 : Lotte World Adventure and Ewha school uniform rental. Spend the rest of the day exploring Seokchon Lake, Lotte World Tower, and Jamsil.

Day 2 : 63 Building and Aqua Planet 63. Spend the rest of the day exploring Yeouido and the Han River parks, night markets, and surrounding area.

Day 3: COEX Aquarium. Spend the rest of the day exploring COEX Mall, Bongeunsa Temple, and Gangnam.

The total cost of these attractions would be 87,000 KRW with the Klook Pass Seoul. The cost to book these attractions through the Klook website would be 108,600 KRW. This means you save 21,600 KRW and can split your activities over several days and travel at your own leisure.

Personally, I think the Klook Pass Seoul is worth it if you plan to visit a theme park and other attractions over several different days and want the flexibility of spreading out these big attractions.

However, if you’re in Seoul for a short time and will be doing many activities in a few days, the Discover Seoul Pass is better value for money and offers more features than the Klook Pass Seoul.

The Discover Seoul Pass Can Be Cheaper

The 3-day example above would cost 87,000 KRW with the Klook Pass Seoul. However, a 72 hour Discover Seoul Pass would only cost 90,000 KRW and you would get more benefits, including the T-Money card and freedom to enter more places for free.

If you only have a few days in Seoul and plan to visit some of the premium attractions in Seoul, the Discover Seoul Pass could save you money vs. the Klook Pass Seoul.

Day Tour with Klook – Nami Island + Rail Bike + Petite France + The Garden of Morning Calm

One of the places in South Korea that I was dreaming to visit is Nami Island. When I went on a solo trip to South Korea in 2014, I intentionally did not visit this because I was saving it for someone special. A beautiful island known for being a location for Korean Dramas including Winter Sonata, I thought it would be lovely to go here with someone that I love. But destiny is so elusive. Four years later, I still haven’t found that someone yet. I think it’s a sign telling me not to wait anymore. Just go to South Korea and enjoy the picturesque Nami Island whether I’ll be alone or whoever I’ll be with. So when an airline offered a promo fare a few months ago for a flight from Manila to Seoul , I grabbed the chance and booked that plane ticket right away.

My first two visits to South Korea were all solo trips. I didn’t want to travel solo again for my third time so I asked my brother to come with me. He hasn’t been to South Korea but he has already a tourist visa ready. I knew he won’t hesitate so he excitedly joined me. Then I realized, we haven’t really traveled together yet as in just the two of us. So this trip is special. Now, I can say I fulfilled my word to visit Nami Island with someone who I love. Well, with my brother.

Listed as one of the top attractions in South Korea , Nami Island is a great destination to visit. This half-moon shaped island has breathtaking views and perfect scenery. Walking around is a dream of its own. It has a sanctuary of vast, tall trees that has become witness of the changing seasons of South Korea. Nami Island is also a place of history and home to several galleries.

My brother and I only had a weekend to spend. To make it convenient for us, we decided to go on a day trip to Nami Island by booking a tour from Klook.

Booking a Tour with Klook

I know Klook for a while already. In fact, I was able to book a tour and buy a ticket here when my friend and I went to Beijing last December. Honestly, Klook made me not to prepare comprehensive itineraries for my trips anymore. With few clicks or taps, I could simply select and book my desired activity for my trip already.

There are numbers of interesting day trip activity available in Klook for Nami Island. My brother and I wanted to make the most out of our vacation in South Korea. Gladly, Klook has this Nami Island, Petite France, Gapyeong Rail Bike and Garden of Morning Calm Day Tour. All these four attractions in one day. I reckoned it was the most ideal day tour to choose. So I booked this tour and instantly got the confirmation and voucher details in my email. On the day of the tour, my brother and I went to the meeting place and I simply showed the voucher from my mobile. But I still prepared a printout of it, just in case. Very easy and convenient, isn’t it?

Our Day Trip with Klook – Nami Island + Rail Bike + Petite France + The Garden of Morning Calm

This full day tour is a visit to four of South Korea’s most popular attractions outside of Seoul. It’s a convenient day trip complete with transfers, lunch and admission tickets. The meet up place for the tour is at Myeongdong Station. When we arrived, we easily recognized the vehicle that we would be using since it has a Klook name on it. We approached the driver and he asked for our names. I showed him the voucher. After checking his list, he told us to enter the car. I was surprised that we’ll be using a car and not a shuttle nor a bus for this tour. Surprisingly, this tour is dedicated for four persons only. Amazing! We haven’t begun yet but I already started loving this tour that we booked. We had a comfortable ride and a semi-private tour.

It was around 8:30 AM when we left Seoul. Gapyeong is about 45 minutes to an hour travel outside the capital city. With a day to explore four attractions in this area, here’s how our day tour with Klook went.

Garden of Morning Calm

The Garden of Morning Calm was our first destination. It is a 30,000 square meter garden filled with beautiful plants and flowers. It was founded by Professor Han Sang-kyung with a vision to set up a world-class garden that embraces the natural beauty of South Korea. Now it has more than 20 themed sections that houses about 5,000 kinds of plants. The Garden of Morning Calm also offers wonderful landscape and scenic walkways.

It was raining during the tour. But that didn’t stop our group to walk around and take beautiful photos of this huge attraction. Our driver gave us an hour and a half to enjoy the place. The garden is massive. As much as we wanted to visit all the themed sections, we weren’t able to. But with the help of the map that we got from the ticket office, my brother and I were able to visit the most meaningful and popular ones. Some of my favorites are Rose of Sharon Garden, Sunken Garden, Road to Heaven, Pond Garden and Moonlight Garden.

The Garden of Morning Calm also hold exhibitions of different flowers and variety of festivals. Depending on the season, some of the sections of the garden transform into a unique and magnificent display. It was during Spring when we went. That time, there was a Wild Flower Exhibition and Spring Flower Festival was happening. The garden became more stunning with lush green and colorful spring flowers.

Our visit to Garden of Morning Calm was an enjoyable start. Even it was raining, my brother and I had a great time exploring the place. It is a beautiful and relaxing garden with colorful flowerbeds and fascinating landscape.

Nami Island

We went for lunch in one of the restaurants in Chuncheon-si after visiting the Garden of Morning Calm. We had Dak-galbi, a popular Korean dish made by stir-frying marinated diced chicken. Afterwards, we went to the most anticipated part of the tour, Nami Island.

Famed for its romantic landscapes, Nami Island is one of the best tourist spots to visit outside of Seoul. It is a beautiful place with rows of majestic redwoods, ginkgo and pines, making it an ideal attraction for leisure walk. The island is also home to roaming deer, ostriches and various waterfowl. It also features interesting display of art and other photography exhibits.

Guests visiting Nami Island need to buy tickets. Our driver took care of it for us already. When we had our tickets, we then lined up for the ferry ride. The island can be reached through a five-minute ferry ride.

I couldn’t contain my excitement when we arrived at Nami Island. I was too excited to roam around and take photos. Our driver gave us two hours so my brother and I didn’t waste our time. We wanted to get to as much as many places so we started to walk around. Most of the walking paths in the island are surrounded by tall verdant trees. There are also beautiful grassy areas that are perfect for photo opportunities. The island also has several villages. Some of these that we were able to check out are Forest Village, Happiness Village and Love Village. But the most picturesque spot that we visited in Nami Island is the Metasequoia Lane. This site has become a symbol of the island. The path is lined with giant redwood trees that offers a stunning scenery.

Two hours wasn’t enough for us to cover everything. My brother and I still missed a lot of sites that makes me wanted to go back again. But even though we only had a few hours here, we certainly had a great experience. Nami Island island was really lovely with plenty of opportunities for photos. It was an amazing place with beautiful scenery. If you love nature and culture, you’ll definitely love this place.

Petite France

It was around 4:00pm when we paid a visit to Petite France . It’s a French-style theme park with lots to discover. We were given an hour to explore the place. It has colorful buildings with beautiful French architecture. This French-inspired village also features traditional homes and a Little Prince gallery. Petite France also holds marionette shows. Other interesting attractions to see inside are Butterfly Park, European doll house, antiques flea market, traditional French house, Fountain Square, Pond de Fabre and “Bonjour” walkway.

Petite France is also well-known for being a setting for Korean drama shows. Some of it are “My Love from The Star”, “Secret Garden” and “Beethoven Virus” . So if you’re a fan, you’ll definitely enjoy this place.

Gangchon Rail Park

When I was still looking for a day trip to Nami Island, I was a bit hesitant if it would be worth it to include Gangchon Rail Park . I thought we wouldn’t have enough time to do this activity anymore. But since it is not often that we visit South Korea, I just decided to include Rail Bike when I booked our tour in Klook.

Built on the discontinued train line, Gangchon Rail Park is a popular tourist attraction where visitors can pedal along the old train track. Visitors can cycle through tunnels and see the lush countryside. It was quite interesting since it is only sometimes that I could experience biking through the rail. My brother and I were already tired from all the places that we visited that day but we were still able to enjoy this part of our tour. It was exciting with fantastic views. I was just glad that we included this activity.

The entire activity took about an hour. It was already past 7:00pm when we were able to go back to the parking lot, where our driver was already waiting for us. We left the rail park and drove back to Seoul. Travel time is about two hours. We reached Myeongdong area around 9:00pm and there my brother and I had our late dinner.

Our tour was an amazing day trip from Seoul . Booked through Klook, my brother and I had a very good experience with the tour. Despite that it was raining that day, our friendly driver made sure that we could visit and enjoy all the attractions. In one day we were able to visit four notable attractions such as Garden of Morning Calm, Nami Island, Petite France and Gangchon Rail Park.

Services like Klook have been real lifesavers for people like me, especially when I was in Seoul, South Korea . I’m not exactly an obsessive planner but I’m definitely more of the type who likes to prepare in advance compared to the kind that does everything spontaneously. Being able to get tickets and book tours before I step into my destination is definitely a godsend. Especially with attractive platform and credit card promos !

Why book your Seoul tours and activities from Klook, KKday and Trazy etc. in advance?

I relied heavily on Klook and KKday for the 5 days I spent in Seoul, mainly because of the language barrier and I didn’t want to end up getting incorrect tickets. Backstory: There was once I bought the wrong entrance tickets and it was ridiculously laughable. Even though I have a basic command of Japanese and can decipher most Kanji because of the similarity to Mandarin, somehow I still screwed up. 😂

I wanted to get tickets to the garden in Tenryu-ji, a beautiful temple in Kyoto, Japan so I went inside this hall with a ticket booth, got my tickets and realised that I had to walk an entire round inside the hall to get out since they had a one-way direction set up. Since I had my companions waiting, I was eager to get out, which I did in about 30 seconds. And this was when the revelation hit…could the tickets I just bought, be for the entry to this hall?! Wish the revelation hit earlier then maybe I could have saved USD15. 🤦‍♀️

So without further ado, here are the activities you should check out when in before you visit Seoul, South Korea –

N Seoul Tower

Originally built as a broadcast tower, the N Seoul Tower attained landmark status with its gorgeous 360-degree view of Seoul city.

We visited in the evening. The weather wasn’t great so we missed the sunset but thankfully, the night views were great.

To get to N Seoul Tower, you can either take a bus, cable car or go by car. Buses start from KRW15,000 (~SGD17) but would have given you access to other places of interest . We opted for the cable car which was KRW9,500 (~SGD11) for a return trip. Unfortunately, the cable car tickets were not included in any of the packages we found online so we paid for them separately.

There wasn’t much else to do apart from the city views so we only stayed for about an hour or two. The tickets are only $6.55 via Klook so we weren’t expecting more either.

Day tour: Garden of Morning Calm, Nami Island, Ganchon Rail Park, Petit France

This is one of those intensive day tours that cramps every must-do activity into a grueling 12-hour itinerary. Perfect for us since we were pretty time-strapped in Seoul. The downside is the limited time you get at each stop.

We booked this day tour from Seoul on Klook for about SGD100+ per person . The tour has a couple of options which allows you to choose the places you want to go. We went for the option with all four destinations.

After the experience, I’ll recommend skipping Petit France and go for the option with Garden of Morning Calm, Nami Island and Ganchon Rail Park. Honestly, I wasn’t a big fan of Petit France and would rather get more time at the other stops.

Meetup at Myeongdong

At about 8 AM, we showed up at the Myeongdong meeting point, which was a convenient 10-minute walk from our hotel. We were met by a knowledgeable guide and were picked up by a comfortable tour bus. Note that the mode of transport may vary depending on the number of participants.

Garden of Morning Calm

Our day started at the Garden of Morning Calm, and it was absolutely breathtaking. There were more than 5000 species of flowers and plants and the entire compound was impeccably maintained. Pity we only had an hour to explore the grounds.

I saw a couple of locals doing their morning walks in the garden too. The entrance fee, which was included in the tour, is KRW9,500 (~SGD13) so I wonder how that works out for the wallet though.

Some key spots to visit:

Nami island

One of the most popular day trips from Seoul, Nami island rose in popularity when it was featured in the 2002 hit Korean drama series “Winter Sonata”.

The most popular sites on the island are the rows of pine trees that were featured prominently in the drama. The pine trees are the most accessible but there are also gingko, metasequoia and cherry tree lanes further into the island.

Honestly, the island is not my favourite as there isn’t much to do beyond the tree lanes. Most of the tours will include Nami island because it’s so iconic and overall, the tour packages are still a more economical option then arranging your own transport to the other locations.

Ganchon Rail Park

Built from a discontinued train line, the Gangchon Rail Park is the largest bike course in Korea which brings you around the bucolic countryside.

I’ve always wanted to visit the rail park after seeing it on one of the Running Man episodes. They made it look like so much fun that I wanted to try it out myself. The tour brought us to the starting point of the railway and our guide informed us that it would take about 30 minutes to complete the entire track.

After getting off the bike, we took a short 5-minute train to the exit where they would pick us up again. The romantic train, as it was named, apparently only comes once every hour (or so) and our tour guide had to emphasize that if we missed the train, we would not be able to visit Petit France since it would be closed by the time we got there. That was how tight the schedule was.

Gangchon Rail Park

You get really nice views along the way!

Despite the warnings, the rail ride is really manageable and relaxed. We had a lot of time to spare before we caught the romantic train, which was hardly romantic at all; it was super crowded and we just wanted to get off the train as quickly as possible.

You couldn’t really speed up on the tracks even if you wanted to since you couldn’t overtake the bikes before you. We just did the entire track in a leisurely pace and went through farms and hills and unused tunnels which were repurposed with lights, bubbles and music to make the ride more exciting. It was pretty fun.

Petit France

So apparently, this was built by a rich man with a love for France.

We had just a little more than 30 minutes at the park. Maybe it was a lack of time or we were just too tired after the 3 locations, I couldn’t bring myself to enjoy the park. The park captured iconic, recognisable elements of Europe which made for a good location for photos. Beyond that, there was little else.

Rose festival in Everland

A month-long extravagant festival starting from mid-May, celebrating different species of the gorgeous flower

Seoul’s largest theme park spanning 99 hectares of land, which is more than 8 times the size of Lotte World (Seoul’s other theme park) and twice the size of Tokyo Disneyland!

I absolutely enjoyed Everland! It was so huge they even have cable cars in the park. We purchased the tickets via Klook which meant we were able to skip the queues at the ticket booth and enter the park immediately.

We waited no more than 40 minutes for the popular rides, which I think it’s pretty decent since queues for popular rides in Universal Studios and Disneylands routinely went over 60 minutes. Some rides I’d recommend:

• T-Express: a huge wooden rollercoaster which was absolutely adrenaline-pumping
• Double Rock Spin which brings you through like five 360-degree spins at one go
• X-Scissors with its crazy rotating action.

They also have a Safari World where you travel in the bus and catch animals like big brown bears, flamingoes, alpacas, and hyenas.

I think the staff also helped to make the entire experience more enjoyable – just look at this staff rap to the music from the ride!

Hanbok experience near Gyeongbukgung Palace

There are several options for the hanbok experience on Klook, KKday and Trazy but we ultimately went for the package at Seohwa Hanbok on KKday because:

• Location – super near Gyeongbukgung Palace. We could have done this in Nami island, Gamcheon village in Busan or even Insadong (a neighbourhood known for its traditional wares and cozy cafes). After doing some research, we felt that the Gyeongbukgung Palace was the most appropriate for hanboks. We would have felt really out-of-place in more modern settings. From Seohwa Hanbok, the palace is only a 5-minute walk away so we wouldn’t have to take the public transport in the hanboks. This is great because hanboks are not really the most comfortable clothing to walk in.
• Reviews – They have a rating of 4.5, which is pretty amazing considering that they did almost 32k purchases raking more than 5k reviews.
• Price and value – Seohwa Hanbok’s packages are really value-for-money. Unlike some other hanbok shops, they do not differentiate between premium hanboks and normal hanboks. Additionally, they do not charge extra for ‘addons’. We paid only slightly more than $20 per person for a 6-hour rental period (more than enough), loan of hair accessories and purse and storage of our bags.

The selection of hanboks was decent. Seohwa Hanbok also allows their customers to have a change of mind once; if you try on a hanbok and you don’t like it, you get another chance to pick out and try on another hanbok. Bear in mind that it takes a staff 5 to 10 minutes to help dress you up so they do have to control the number of fittings. But of course, if the size doesn’t fit, you can keep trying until you find the right size.

They have sizes up to UK18 but the selection does get smaller as the sizes go up. The staff is really friendly and will help you as much as they can.

Tips for picking out your hanboks in Seoul

They do have quite a fair bit of clients so you don’t really get the luxury of picking out your hanbok in comfort. To make sure you pick something you’re satisfied with, here are some tips:

• Research and decide on the colour scheme beforehand so you can just zoom in on those colours when picking out the hanbok.
• Make sure to have a good look at how your hanbok looks to make sure it fits well on you. Don’t end up like me with a top that’s too short. They have full-length mirrors around the shop.
• I’m not too sure if coming early helps, but I’ll definitely suggest to skip the first hour of opening if you’re not planning to queue up before the shop opens. The customers before you would have picked out the nicer hanboks and no one would return the hanboks within the first hour, which means you will have less of a selection.

We had a blast taking photos at the palace in our hanboks! I think we snapped more than 200 photos there. 😛 If you prefer to have more options, here’s another recommendation for cheap hanbok rental in Seoul .

Among our other sightseeing, shopping and eating, we could only fit in 4 pre-planned activities from Klook and KKday in Seoul but here are 3 others I would have gone for if I had the time:

This is the other theme park in Seoul. We only had time for one theme park so we picked Everand over Lotte. I visited once nearly 10 years ago and I remembered the rides to be pretty cool. It is also a lot more convenient than Everland since it’s closer to city center.

Day trip to Demilitarised Zone

Visit the truce village between North and South Korea and also the third tunnel of aggression, a tunnel burrowed by the North to infiltrate South Korea. Seoraksan National Park (Autumn)

Take in the magnificent autumn foliage at Seoraksan National Park. The journey to-and-fro is almost 6 hours so it’s best to book a tour. You can rest on the way there and visit the park fully recharged.

Klook has a really economical package for less than SGD70 per pax but there were a couple of reviews lamenting that the tour only allocated about 2.5 to 3 hours of time in the park. An alternative would be this package on Trazy ; it’s about 30% more expensive but at least no one complained about the lack of time in the park.

I would have totally done this if I visited Seoul in the autumn, but alas.

Yes, Seoul completed exceeded my expectations. I always felt that Seoul has a really modern city image but there’s so much more to the city!

Beautiful city, the gardens look gorgeous! I love booking day trips at times when traveling to a new destination where they may be some sort of barrier (such as the language barrier) in order to get the most out of the trip with less stress. Not always, but sometimes it makes the trip that much more enjoyable.

Definitely less stressful!

"We spent two wonderful weeks touring several of the best destinations in Portugal & Spain with a group of 16 people. Our guide (Fredy) was from Spain and intimately familiar with the region, including its rich history, attractions, and food/beverages. The tour was well-paced using a combinations of private vehicles (small buses and cabs), trains, and an airplane ride as well as a fair amount of walking to get around these two beautiful countries. A girl's adventure in food and travel around the world, is klook legit my experience after years of using klook.

The first time I ever saw the name Klook was when I was traveling in Bali . I noticed a Korean tourist getting picked up outside of our hotel by a tour guide with a Klook name tag. This was many years ago, probably around the year of 2017 when I was spending a lot of time in Bali.

After seeing Klook in action, I did a quick search on the internet out of curiosity. It turns out that at that time, Klook was the new-ish marketplace for travel experiences in Asia – just like Viator or TripAdvisor, if you come from the other side of the world.

Fast forward six years later, Klook has flourished and I can pretty much rely on Klook to book any type of activity or experience when I travel. In Singapore (where I live) and Taiwan for example, you could book pretty much any attraction you can think of – from the zoo, aquarium, and even SIM cards – through Klook.

However, I know for visitors who don’t live in Asia, Klook may not be a familiar name and you might be hesitant to use them.

So, is Klook legit? I thought I’d write a little about my personal experience with Klook to ease any doubt for those of you who have not used Klook before!

What is Klook?

As I was saying before, Klook is a marketplace for travel experiences, just like Viator and TripAdvisor.

Through Klook, you can select any destination you want to visit and explore activities that you can book at that destination. You can also see reviews of other Klook members who have purchased that same activity before, which can help you decide if this is the right activity for you.

The idea of a marketplace for travel activities is not new. It has been done many times over. However, what stood out to me about Klook, and what convinced me to try them and eventually become their regular customer, is the vast inventory of activities and the affordable price – especially when it comes to destinations in Asia.

How do you use Klook for traveling?

Klook started as a place where you can book tours or experiences. Nowadays, almost anything and everything can be booked on Klook, including tickets, transportation, SIM Cards, hotels, and even food .

For example, in Bali , you could rent a scooter to go around town, or you can book an airport transfer that will pick you up and drop you off directly at your accommodation, or you can buy SIM cards which can be picked up at the airport or delivered to your hotel. It makes travel so much more convenient!

Why should I use Klook?

Since my first encounter with Klook in 2017, I have started to use Klook exclusively whenever I travel. I find that there are many benefits to using Klook that other marketplaces simply cannot beat:

• Ease of booking – Being an established marketplace for experiences, they’ve got the booking process down to the simplest and easiest experience! I am usually only a few clicks away from booking the experience I want.
• Loyalty points (Klook Rewards) – Klook gives you loyalty points every time you book anything through their app or website through Klook Rewards, which you can use to offset the cost of your next booking. The amount is usually not much, but the more you use Klook, it could add up!
• Instant confirmation or direct entry tickets – This is my favorite feature of Klook, which lets you walk in directly into an attraction or museum by simply showing a QR code. This feature is not available for all experiences, but when it is available, it makes traveling so much fuss-free. For example, when I was in Tainan , I pretty much bought the tickets for the major attractions on the spot (literally at the entrance of the attraction) and I was able to enter right away via the QR code from the Klook app.
• Competitive pricing – I am not sure how they do it, but I find that prices in Klook are almost always cheaper than booking through other platforms or directly, especially for experiences in Asia.

Tips on using Klook successfully and safely

While there are many benefits to using Klook, it is very important to know that Klook is still a marketplace at the core of it. As such, the experience you get might vary.

Here are some of my personal tips to use Klook to your advantage!

1. Read the reviews thoroughly

For any specific items or experience in Klook, I would HIGHLY recommend checking out their reviews . This is a must-do regardless of whether you’re booking through Klook or any other platform.

Look for any negative reviews , and note down the ratio of negative vs positive reviews to get a clear view of the operator at their best and worst.

Think of it like buying items in a marketplace like Amazon – just because an item is listed on Amazon, it does not mean it’s going to be always high quality. In certain destinations, Klook might be listing the same items, services, or experiences by different vendors.

If you decide to book an experience with little or no reviews , be prepared to take the risk – the experience has not been validated by other users, and you might get a bad experience. But, it could also turn out well – you might simply have discovered a hidden gem that no one else has tried on Klook before.

In most cases, just because an activity has no reviews in Klook, it doesn’t mean they are completely new. More often than not, these experiences are offered by a company with many years of experience, it’s just that they are new to Klook. So if you are interested, you can find out who the vendor is (usually this is stated on the Klook activity page), and do a Google search on them outside of Klook. You might also see reviews that you don’t see in Klook.

2. Check the cancellation policy

Some experiences or services booked through Klook usually can be canceled, but it is extremely important to note that each item will have a different cancellation policy from another .

Usually, there will be a time limit for canceling – for example, you might not be able to get a refund if you cancel it at the last minute (within 24-48 hours) or you might only be eligible for a partial refund. But in certain experiences – usually a timed ticket like hotel booking, a train ticket, or a show – they might not offer cancellation at all.

So, make sure you know the exact cancellation policies before booking to avoid any disappointment!

No-show Protection: You could add a “No-show refund” insurance while booking an experience to make sure you can still get some money back if something happens and you need to cancel. Find out more about Klook’s No-show insurance .

3. Make sure your booking has been confirmed

If you are booking a time-sensitive activity such as an airport transfer or a tour, make sure the organizer gets in touch with you and confirms your booking close to the date of your travel.

It’s rare, and it has not personally happened to me, but I have heard one instance from a friend when her airport transfer in Bali wasn’t confirmed and the vendor ended up being a no-show on the day. Klook refunded her, but she still had to scramble to find alternative transport which was not ideal.

To be fair, this is a risk that you are taking with every booking, even if you book directly with the vendor or through any other platform. Always be proactive and make sure your booking is confirmed!

4. Download WhatsApp for communication

Which brings me to my next point. You should download WhatsApp , which is how most people communicate in Asia, and likely how the tour operator will try to get in touch with you. Link your WhatsApp to the phone number you’ve provided when booking the tour.

Conclusion – My verdict on Klook so far

So, in conclusion – is Klook legit? Yes, in my experience, they are very much legit. I have not personally had a bad experience with any experiences I’ve booked through Klook so far. Perhaps, I have been lucky with over 50+ bookings with Klook since 2018, ranging from tickets to airport transfers and car charters.

I have to note that I have yet to book hotels with Klook. It’s one of their newer offerings, and judging from the comment section of this post, people seem to encounter issues with the level of support when something goes wrong with the booking. As with other bookings, I would assess the risk by looking at all the reviews on the hotel’s Klook page.

While the Klook platform is very easy to use, their customer care is extremely disappointing/disgusting and they will waste your time and your money!

Beware! Our experience with Klook’s airport transfer service at Narita Airport was nothing short of disgusting. We booked our transfer while in transit in Dubai, specifically requesting a 6 PM pickup time and even providing our flight number for added clarity. However, upon arrival, we faced a frustrating situation that ultimately left us without transportation and out of pocket.

After clearing customs and collecting our luggage, 4 sets of eyes searched for our driver, who was nowhere to be found. After frantic searching and inquiries at the information desk, my husband finally located the driver, who turned out to be unprofessional, rude, and unhelpful. He demanded additional payment, claiming he had waited for 100 minutes, despite our voucher stating the driver would wait for one hour and 40 minutes.

When we refused to pay extra, the driver abandoned us, leaving us stranded with our children and luggage.

To make matters worse, Klook’s customer service has been ABYSMAL. They dragged their feet in addressing our concerns (not getting back to us within the 2 days as promised), made us provide photographic evidence (which they totally disregarded), spent hours going back and forth on chat and refused to get a manager to call us, failed to provide a refund and ultimately refused to take responsibility for their flawed system, which completely disregarded our requested pickup time (inputting the flight number overrides the clients requested pickup time and communicates to their operator to pitch up at the time the flight lands- so stupid!).

Klook admitted to poor communication with their operator but still denied us our hard-earned money back. Save yourself the headache and avoid Klook’s unreliable and unprofessional service!

I also used the Klook platform to book Shinkansen (bullet train) tickets and while one pays more for reserved seating it does not allow one to choose seats so we had 4 tickets in 4 separate rows with my young kids sitting on their own. I waited over an hour to get through to their customer support chat and they could do absolutely nothing to help!

2 out of 2 failed Klook bookings. Deleting the platform and will NEVER USE IT AGAIN!

Hey Carnita. Sorry you had this experience! Definitely not ideal. I booked a transfer from Narita airport as well back in November, Thankfully my experience was great, the driver was waiting for us at the gate. The operator I booked with was called Chinichi through Klook.

Thank you for this article, was looking for reviews of Klook services. Question, do you know the quality of the pocket WIFI router they offer is sufficient for business usage in Taiwan? From what I have read, it does seem like there should be no problems with conference calls for audio/video across to United States? Will be visiting Taiwan for up to a month on part vacation but will also be bringing work along. Just want to be sure the wifi router will be able to offer reliable WIFI access for up to 8 hours if necessary. The location will mainly be in Taipei and from the same address location. Thanks ahead of time. -Allen

Hey Allen, I did not use wifi router but I used a SIM card for my mobile phone and the speed was very fast throughout Taiwan. I believe I was getting 4G/5G everywhere. The wifi router depends on the provider, so you should research the specific telco provider to see if they are reliable since you’re using it for work. Mine was Chunghwa Telecom. Even though most of them are unlimited data, you should see if they have maximum data usage per day or they might throttle the speed after. Not saying this is a thing in Taiwan, but I’ve seen it in other parts of Asia.

SCAMMERS!!! The absolute worst! We booked a 24sqm room in E-hotel Higashi Shinjukul through the Klook app, only to find out that they booked a 12sqm one for us instead. We could barely fit our things here! In addition, there is no customer service number you can call for help in Klook. Worse off, the E-hotel Higashi Shinjuku kept passing on the blame to Klook instead of helping us out. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! PLEASE AVOID BOOKING ANYTHING THROUGH KLOOK. GO FOR RELIABLE APPS LIKE BOOKING.COM.

I had the same experience, I was informed to expect my refund credits within 30 days on 06Nov; is till did not see it reflected in my klook app till now despite me sending emails to klook on three other occasions to inquire about my refund. Each time klook responded very promptly that they have issues the credit voucher to my account but as of now on 25Dec 2023, I still do not see it in my klook app. Klook’s Experience Specialist was quick to ask for feedback on their customers support, however, the survey was just a super short one with only one question and a yes / no answer to it. There isn’t even a space for us to express our dismay or request for further assistance, I can’t help but wonder what kind of a customer experience survey is this. I can’t help but wonder if my credit refund has been misappropriated; if the credit voucher has been issued as what their customers support team claimed, then where is it ?

After over a month of promises of refunds for accomodation I still have not been refunded. Very difficult to contact, English bad, no customer service. Book elsewhere.

We plan to go to Busan. I downloaded the KTX app and was going to buy the tickets there but I don't see the seat assignments. I know some seats face the backwards from the train direction and I'm trying to avoid that. I don't want to be automatically assigned.

2. I also downloaded Klook since I've read you could find good deals. I see the consecutive and flex options but if 2 people going to Busan from Seoul on Monday and coming back on Thursday. Does it even make sense these other options? What am I missing?

Klook Plans Partnership with Thailand as the Country Skyrockets in Popularity

Thailand remains a strong destination post Covid. Tour operators are flocking to the country and playing a significant role in how travel evolves.

Klook, a leading platform for travel experiences in Asia, signed a letter of intent with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to boost experiences in the country. The company is hoping to double the number of bookings it has for tourism packages to Thailand this year.

Klook says it is focusing on events, from Muay Thai matches to music festivals to Michelin visits and river cruises. The collaboration should have a particular impact on ticketing, as it allows the company to offer an integrated booking experience to major festivals and top attractions. 

Klook is also planning to promote the less obvious attractions and support small to medium operators by providing digitalization tools that can bring offerings online and showcase them to a global audience. 

Thailand Gaining in Popularity

Thailand is a long-time travel favorite and it bounced back strong after COVID. Klook says the country has had a 44% growth in foreign tourist arrivals over the past year and a Travel Pulse survey shows that travelers are looking to increase their target budgets for Thailand in 2024 by up to 50%. 

The Tourism Authority of Thailand conducted its own survey echoing these results . They found that tourists are spending more on luxury accommodations despite higher airfares and that the use of online platforms for travel arrangements is rising, with tour operators “still playing a significant role.”

Other tour operators, such as EF World Journeys, which offers educational tours, say Thailand is a growing favorite for North American travelers and that it remains one of the top three most popular destinations in Asia. 

“Year-to-date, EF Go Ahead Tours has realized nearly 60% year-over-year growth in bookings to Thailand, adding several new tour offerings in the country to meet the demand in the region,” says Heidi Durflinger, President of EF World Journeys which operates two of their offerings.

“Based on our trending destinations data, which is based on thousands of demand indicators amongst younger adult travelers (18-35), tours in Thailand have been a consistent top 5 destination for bookings during Spring Break, but we are also seeing strong demand for Thailand from travelers seeking international beach vacations all year round,” said Heather Leisman, President, EF Ultimate Break.
