PM Modi Maharashtra Visit Today Mumbai Palghar Project Launch Worth Rs 76,000 Crore Modi In Maharashtra Today: PM To Visit Mumbai & Palghar, Launch Projects Worth Rs 76,000 Cr — Full Schedule

PM Modi Maharashtra Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Maharashtra on Friday, August 30. During his visit, he will travel to Mumbai and Palghar and lay the foundation stone of several development projects.

The Prime Minister will first visit Mumbai, where he will address Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2024 at the Jio World Convention Centre at 11 AM, according to a PMO press release. Thereafter, at around 1:30 PM, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several development projects at CIDCO Ground, Palghar.

PM Modi's visit to Maharashtra is crucial as it comes ahead of the assembly elections, which are set to take place later this year. In the Lok Sabha elections, which were held earlier this year, the opposition alliance Maha Vikas Agadhi (MVA) won 30 out of 48 seats, while the ruling Mahayuti bagged 17 seats.

PM Modi In Mumbai

During his visit to Mumbai, the Prime Minister will address a special session of Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2024.

GEF is being jointly organised by the Payments Council of India, the National Payments Corporation of India, and the Fintech Convergence Council, the PMO press release stated.

Around 800 speakers, including policymakers, regulators, senior bankers, industry captains, and academicians, from India and various other countries will address more than 350 sessions at the conference. It will also showcase the latest innovations of the fintech landscape, the release further read.

At GFF 2024, over 20 thought leadership reports and white papers will be launched, which will offer insights and in-depth industry information.

PM in Palghar

Later in the day, PM Modi will be in Palghar, where he is scheduled to lay the foundation stone of Vadhvan Port today.

According to the PMO press release, the total cost of this project is around Rs. 76,000 crores. It aims to establish a world-class maritime gateway that will boost the country’s trade and economic growth by catering to large container vessels, offering deeper drafts, and accommodating ultra-large cargo ships.

Vadhvan Port

Located near Dahanu town in Palghar district, Vadhvan Port will be one of India’s largest deep-water ports and will provide direct connectivity to international shipping routes, reducing transit times and costs.

The port is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and infrastructure, and it will feature deep berths, efficient cargo handling facilities, and modern port management systems.

As per the release, the port is likely to generate significant employment opportunities, stimulate local businesses, and contribute to the overall economic development of the region.

The Vadhvan Port project incorporates sustainable development practices, with a focus on minimising environmental impact and adhering to stringent ecological standards.

Once operational, the port will enhance India's maritime connectivity and further strengthen its position as a global trade hub.

List Of Other Projects To Be Inaugurated By PM Modi

During his Maharashtra visit, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of 218 fisheries projects worth around Rs 1,560 crore. The projects are aimed at boosting the sector's infrastructure and productivity across the nation.

These initiatives are expected to generate more than five lakh employment opportunities in the fisheries sector. The Prime Minister will also launch the National Roll Out of Vessel Communication and Support system at a cost of around Rs. 360 crores.

Under this project, 1 lakh transponders will be installed in a phased manner on mechanised and motorised fishing vessels in 13 coastal states and Union Territories, as per the PMO release.

The vessel communication and support system is indigenous technology developed by ISRO, which will help in establishing two-way communication while fishermen are at sea and also help in rescue operations as well as ensure the safety of our fishermen.

Other initiatives to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister include the development of fishing harbours and Integrated Aquaparks, alongside the adoption of advanced technologies such as the Recirculatory Aquaculture System and Biofloc.

These projects will be implemented across multiple states and will provide crucial infrastructure and high-quality inputs to enhance fish production, improve post-harvest management, and create sustainable livelihoods for millions involved in the fisheries sector.

The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for important fishery infrastructure projects, including the development, upgradation, and modernisation of fishing harbours, fish landing centres and the construction of fish markets. This is expected to provide necessary facilities and hygienic conditions for post-harvest management of fish and seafood.

Why govt funds used for Kempegowds statue, asks Karnataka Congress President

President of Karnataka Congress D K Shivakumar questioned why government funds were used to install a 108-feet statue of Bengaluru founder Nadaprabhu Kempegowda at the international airport.

"Doing it (installing the statue) using government funds is a big crime. We (the Karnataka govt) have given the land and also funds for the Bengaluru International Airport Limited. Out of 4,200-acre land, 2,000 acre was given at only ₹ 6-lakh per acre. Along with money, they have shared. It (BIAL) should have used its money, why to use government money," Shivakumar said.

The state's Congress President said, "Airport should have done it, is it not earning? Hasn't their property price increased, we have given over 2,000 acre for commercial exploitation. Why did you need government money? Why is the Chief Secretary quiet? There was no need to use government money."

Chandrayaan-3: PM Modi to visit Bengaluru on August 26 to congratulate ISRO team

The karnataka bjp is planning a grand welcome for the prime minister by organising a mega road show in the city on his arrival..

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Bengaluru on August 26, to greet the ISRO scientists and officials for the successful landing of Candrayaan-3's lander and deployment of rover on moon's surface.

The Karnataka BJP is planning a grand welcome for the Prime Minister by organising a mega road show in the city on his arrival, senior BJP leader and former Minister R Ashoka said on Thursday.

"PM Narendra Modi is coming on August 26. We will be receiving him in big numbers with more than 6,000 people at HAL airport. There, he might address the people of Bengaluru. Our (BJP) national leader Santosh ji (General Sec B L Santosh) just spoke to me to organise a mega roadshow in Peenya, I have spoken to Dasarahalli MLA Muniraju on this," he said.

Speaking to reporters here, Ashoka said the Prime Minister has given the opportunity to the people of Bengaluru to share this joy with him. "We the people of Bengaluru will give Modi a grand welcome, because ISRO means Benagluru and Bengaluru means ISRO. He is coming here to congratulate ISRO scientists," he added.

Though the details of PM's visit have not been shared, he is likely to visit the Missions Operations Complex at Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC) here to congratulate the scientists and officials of the space agency.

PM Modi on Wednesday congratulated ISRO Chairman S Somanath on the success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission and said he would soon visit them in Bengaluru to greet the entire team in person. He had a phone conversation with Somanath from Johannesburg, where he is attending the BRICS summit.

Before the phone conversation, he had virtually witnessed the landing and addressed ISRO scientists from Johannesburg.

Noting that the plan was to organise a roadshow of about 1 km near Peenya, Ashoka said at the airport too there will be a gathering of people to welcome the PM. A meeting has been convened at the party office to discuss and finalise things, he added.

India on Wednesday scripted history as ISRO's ambitious third Moon mission Chandrayaan-3's Lander Module (LM) touched down on the lunar surface, making it only the fourth country to accomplish the feat, and first to reach the uncharted south pole of Earth's only natural satellite.

The LM comprising the lander (Vikram) and the rover (Pragyan), made the soft landing near the south polar region of the Moon last evening. Earlier today, ISRO announced that the rover rolled down from the lander, stating "India took a walk on the moon."
