Itinerary: kosher vacation in dubai, united arab emirates.
With the recent peace deal between Israel and the UAE, Dubai, and the entire UAE, is suddenly an exciting new travel destination (post-COVID). Filled with luxurious hotels, unimaginable attractions, and minutes away from the breathtaking Arabian Desert, Dubai is sure to become a popular vacation spot within the Jewish community. Direct flights from Israel are in the works and direct flights depart NYC for Dubai once a day, and the flight clocks in at 12hrs 45 mins – surely manageable for those who are used to flying to Israel. Once direct flights from TLV-DXB start, it will shorten what was once a 10.5 hour trip on multiple flights to about a 3 hour direct flight!
Since the peace agreement, many kosher options have become available in the UAE.
- Elli’s Kosher Kitchen works with a variety of hotels to offer kosher catered meals to guests, certified by the O-U. See the list of hotels here .
- The Armani/Kaf restaurant is open inside of the Burj Khalifa in Abu Dhabi.

Aaci’s in-depth kosher dubai .
New dates coming soon – 7 Night – DRAFT
Monday: day 1. – tel aviv to dubai, old town, dubai river cruise.
Dubai is the largest city in the Emirates, with over 3,000,000 residents. It has evolved from a small fishing village to a new, modern city, a vibrant metropolis with tall, modern buildings, huge shopping malls and endless attractions.
We begin our tour of the Old City of Dubai , known as al-Fahidi district, full of small houses, picturesque cafes, and galleries. Then, we will board small boats to cross the Dubai Creek and experience the gold and spice markets. Later, we will view the largest mosque in the UAE known as Jumiera, which is the first mosque to open its doors to non-Muslim visitors. Then we will visit the Museum of Civilizations , with its exhibition commemorating the Holocaust that opened in 2021. It is unique as the only museum of its kind in an Arab country.
We end the day with an enjoyable, relaxing, and fun canal cruise including a kosher dinner and a folklore show, as we view the impressive, colorful, and towering buildings along the coastline.
Tuesday: Day 2. – Dubai with all its wonders
Today, after breakfast, we will spend the morning touring the impressive artificial island of Palm Jumeirah . We will take a ride on the Monorail, an overhead train inaugurated in 2009, which connects the artificial island to the mainland. The island is considered one of the wonders of the world, and the largest artificial island on earth (some describe it as a man-made “miracle”). The island is shaped like a palm tree surrounded by a crescent-shaped breakwater. It has skyscrapers, luxury villas, parks, golf clubs and more. We will continue to the edge of the island to see the luxurious Atlantis Hotel located in Palm Jumeirah . Near the island lies one of Dubai’s most recognizable buildings: the Hotel Burj Al Arab , considered the most luxurious hotel in the world. This hotel is a worldwide symbol of Dubai’s extreme wealth. Unfortunately, we are not staying there, but we are in for a unique and exclusive experience with a private guided tour of the hotel during which we will see the luxury suites, gold-plated staircases and the wonderful architectural richness of the hotel.
After all this opulence, we will continue our tour to the Jumeirah State Market . This is a popular market decorated in a traditional Middle Eastern style, with natural stone buildings in a light sand color. At the market you can purchase and be impressed by perfumes, fabrics, souvenirs and more.
In the afternoon we will visit the Dubai Mall, the fifth largest mall in the world, with thousands of luxury stores, restaurants, cafes, cinemas and food courts. The aquarium is located on the ground floor of the Dubai Mall and is home to thousands of marine animals including over 300 impressive sharks and seals. We will watch Dubai’s famous fountain show, which includes lighting and music effects. From here we will continue to visit the symbol of Dubai – “ Burj Al Khalifa” . It is a skyscraper and the tallest building in the world, rising to an altitude of 828 meters (2,717 feet), with 163 floors. The cost of its construction is estimated at about $1.5 billion. 194 foundation pillars were erected for the building, at a depth of 15 meters. We will take an express elevator up to the 124th floor, from where we will see the whole city of Dubai from the Persian Gulf to the desert.
Return to our hotel for dinner and a good night’s sleep!

The museum also has an ancient Bible dating back more than 500 years found in Yemen. The design of the museum is fascinating and it is covered by a designed dome that looks as if it is floating above it. The branch of the French museum in Abu Dhabi is a symbol of the vision of the United Arab Emirates regarding cultural, intellectual and openness progress.
Later we will visit the great mosque named after the father of the nation Sheikh Zayed, one of the largest and most beautiful mosques in the world, built of marble and including many decorations. The mosque can accommodate up to 40,000 worshippers. The work of planning and building the mosque was assigned to a large number of craftsmen and professionals from around the world from India to New Zealand and more than 3,000 workers were engaged in the construction work. Dubai As A Top Jewish Travel Destination
- August 28, 2023
If you time-traveled twenty years back and asked someone from back then if they thought the sea-level city of Dubai would ever be a Jewish travel destination, they might think you were joking. It wasn’t so long ago that the idea of traveling to Dubai seemed like a pipe dream. However, it’s shaping up to be one of the best Jewish travel destinations this year.
Dubai is the shopping capital of the Middle East with the largest shopping mall in the world. It’s also the fourth most visited city in the world, but it hasn’t been considered a top Jewish travel destination until recently.
After the Abraham Accords, however, unbelievable things are happening, and new locations are opening up for Jewish travel that previously seemed impossible. Israelis are traveling to Dubai and making history, and Jewish people from all over the world are planning trips to this fascinating Gulf nation.
Dubai has opened up for Jewish travel. Whether you keep kosher, keep Shabbat, or are interested in exploring the sites in this gulf country, the UAE, in general, is a new Jewish travel destination that will surprise you with its food, culture, and lifestyle.
With 11 kosher places to eat, 11 Kosher restaurants, 6 synagogues, and a Mikveh, you should be sure to put this place at the top of your travel list.
Is there a Jewish community in Dubai?
There’s been a Jewish community in the UAE for a long time. Dubai Jews are a mix of the community that’s been there for a while, as well as many who have moved for work. Even Rabbi Benjamin of Tudela recorded a community in the area, in a place called Kis, from 1165 to 1173.
Currently, there’s a Jewish community in the UAW of around 2,000 people. In terms of minyanim, there’s a minyan on the Palm, Chabad of the Emirates JCC of the UAE, one at the TLV Restaurant in the H Hotel and one at the Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor. The Jewish community in Dubai now feels comfortable being Jewish in public, and public displays of religion are becoming more and more common in the country.
Can you celebrate Jewish holidays in Dubai?
Dubai is a great and unique place to celebrate Jewish holidays. There is a sukkah on Sukkot and candle lighting on Hanukkah in public in Dubai. There are also Passover programs in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi. There are plenty of programs to celebrate Jewish holidays in Dubai and many hotels with kosher chefs that will prepare holiday meals.
Is there Kosher food in Dubai?
It’s easy and delicious to keep kosher in Dubai. There are many kosher restaurants in Dubai, including Glatt Kosher food at The Kosher Place, dairy at Ellie’s Cafe and Bakery, Mul Hayam for kosher Israeli-style food, and The Armani/Kaf, certified by the EAKC. Many hotels also provide delicious kosher food, so you don’t even need to leave in the morning to find a meal.
But what can you do on a trip to Dubai?
Dubai is a place of extremes–from the tallest building to the largest prayer rug, it’s a city that has been designed to impress. But Dubai is more than its world records. It’s also an opportunity to learn about a new culture, visit beautiful architectural wonders, and gain a new understanding of the world.
Traditional Emirati Lunch and Conversation
Eat delicious local food, drink Arabic coffee, snack on dates and syrup-soaked donuts. This is a unique opportunity to ask a local expert about local culture and Emirati food, daily life, and dress. If you want to understand Dubai, this is the perfect (and most delicious) place to learn.
Immerse in the world of travel with our many cultural journeys.
Dubai Museum
One of the best ways to get to know a city is through visiting a museum. If you go at the beginning of a trip, your added knowledge will enhance and deepen your connection with the place. The Dubai Museum is located in the oldest building in Dubai and documents 3,000 years of Gulf history. Explore displays, dioramas, and historical weapons, as well as exhibits on the goods traded in Dubai and the Bedouin tribes that live in the city.
Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding
The UAE is a melting pot of nationalities. The SMCUU is a place to educate expats on the traditions and customs of the UAE and to be a bridge between different nationalities living, working, and visiting the UAE. The center is located in the historic Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood. There’s traditional cuisine and conversations, as well as walking tours of the historic neighborhood.
Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood
If you’re interested in learning about Dubai in the mid-19th century, take a walk in this neighborhood located along the Dubai creek. Observe the traditional wind towers made from teak, gypsum, palm wood, sandstone, and sandalwood and meander through the alleys. Step into museums and galleries and try traditional food. There’s even a coin museum and a Calligraphy House that specializes in Arabic Calligraphy.
Pearl Museum
Dubai is so modern that sometimes it’s hard to remember that its past is interesting, too. The city was once lined with small villages of pearl divers and merchants, and pearl diving was an important part of life in the area as recently as the 1950s. The museum houses an exquisite collection of pearls, as well as information on the UAE’s pearling and seafaring origins.
Burj Khalifa
The Burj Khalifa is the world’s tallest building. There’s nothing like it in the world, and it’s a big reason many people venture to this country of world records. At 2,722 feet, it replaced Taipei 101 in Taipei, Taiwan. The design of the building comes from the Islamic architecture of the region and optimizes residential and hotel space. The building is surrounded by a 27 acre park with a water room featuring pools and water jet fountains.
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque
This beautiful mosque in Abu Dhabi was opened in 2008 and is a center of cross cultural communication and tourism. It’s one of the world’s largest mosques. 1,300 Iranian artisans hand-knotted the main prayer hall’s carpet, which is the world’s largest. The chandeliers are gold plated, the courtyards are filled with mosaic artwork and reflective pools. This is truly a feast for the eyes. The mosque welcomes 50,000 worshippers each day. There are free guided tours, but the mosque is especially beautiful at sunset, when the whole facade lights up.
Visit An Abrahamic Family House
This unique space is planned to include a church, synagogue, mosque, and educational center on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi. It is meant to show the values shared between Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. In each house of worship, visitors will be able to learn about services, listen to holy scripture, and experience sacred rituals. There’s another building that will house conferences, events, educational programs, and discussions.
Adventures: Kosher Cruise & Kosher Desert Tour
Take a cruise on the Dubai River from the pier by the Hilton Al Habtoor Hotel and eat a delicious meat glatt kosher meal. Enjoy saxophone music while you see the downtown and Business Bay. Marvel at the skyscrapers of the city and see the colorful waterfall. Or take a desert trip including camel rides, beautiful sunset views, and a Glatt Kosher BBQ.

Miriam schreiber’s legacy kosher tours redefines travel with historic trip to dubai.
- By JLNJ Staff
- | January 7, 2021
With light finally starting to emerge at the end of the COVID tunnel and Dubai opening up its borders to tourists once again, an upcoming Legacy Kosher Tours trip to the City of Dreams promises to be an opportunity of a lifetime, unlike any other.
Miriam Schreiber, founder of Legacy Kosher Tours, was already hard at work arranging the many details of a trip to Dubai and the United Arab Emirates in December 2019, long before any frum groups had ever contemplated visiting the area. But when the pandemic hit, plans for the one-of-a-kind journey scheduled for March 2020 had to be postponed.
“As they say in Yiddish, ‘a mentsh tracht un Gut lacht,’ but we are finally able to bring our plans to fruition,” observed Schreiber.
Running from February 8 to 16, the Legacy Kosher Tours Dubai trip will offer an unparalleled opportunity to explore the history, culture and Jewish dimensions of the Gulf states, with visits to must-see attractions including Burj Khalifa, Emirates Desert Safari, Miracle Garden, Palm Island, Global Village and more. Living up to its reputation for exceeding expectations, the Legacy Kosher Tours trip will feature luxurious accommodations at a five-star, iconic waterfront resort in a prime location with an ultramodern fitness center, magnificent swimming pool and epic spa. As always, Legacy Kosher Tours’ Dubai trip will have daily minyanim, Daf Yomi and sumptuous glatt kosher mehadrin breakfasts, lunches and dinners that will dazzle the eyes and tempt the palate, with Rabbi Mordechai Becher and Rabbi Yaakov Lehrfield enhancing the trip with Torah, inspiration and treasure troves of halachic and historic knowledge about the Gulf states, all delivered in their inimitable styles.
The incomparable Legacy Kosher Tours team will oversee details large and small, ensuring that there will be no worries and no unexpected expenses, their flair and creativity the key to creating priceless events, especially Shabbos in Dubai. With heartfelt ruach, inspiring baalei tefillah, soul stirring zemiros and thoughtful divrei Torah and, of course, lavish seudos beyond compare, it will be a Shabbos that will illuminate on every level, culminating in a melave malka to remember.
The full itinerary for the Dubai trip will, as usual, include surprises and unexpected touches. Participants will also have free time to strike out on their own, with optional seaplane and helicopter trips, a chance to test their mettle on the world’s largest zip-lining course and jet skiing and hot air ballooning available for thrill seekers, while those who prefer to relax will have an opportunity to soak up the sun or enjoy the incredible ambiance at a world-class hotel. Above all, the signature Legacy Kosher Tours touch makes every trip a unique experience that goes above and beyond like no other, that special sense of warmth and attention to detail making everyone feel like family.
A trailblazer in the field of luxury Jewish travel, Legacy Kosher Tours has built a reputation for creating remarkable experiences, weaving the wow factor into the fabric of every trip. Miriam Schreiber eagerly embraces the challenge of expanding the boundaries of kosher travel, identifying iconic luxury hotels, fascinating sites, amazing entertainment and intriguing guest speakers in unique locations, and meticulously planning every detail to create memories that will last a lifetime. A 2019 trip had Legacy Kosher Tours taking the first and only kosher group to Japan and South Korea, the itinerary carefully choreographed to avoid the halachic issues that can occur when crossing the international dateline, with Rebbetzin Chaya Small offering a rare perspective as she shared her World War II recollections with participants. Other tours have had guests enjoying the exclusive Four Seasons Koh Samui in Thailand, reveling in the splendor of a private island in the middle of Australia’s Great Barrier Reef and dining with Chief Rabbi Warren Goldstein in South Africa, with Legacy Kosher Tours’ forays to Panama, Singapore and India the first-ever five-star trips to those fascinating locations offered to frum travelers. Always on the lookout to add additional dimensions to its trips, Legacy Kosher Tours is perpetually innovating—having food bloggers Naomi Nachman and Danielle Renov join its tours to shine the spotlight on local cuisine, albeit with a kosher twist, was yet another first in the world of kosher touring, as was a live feed that gave social media followers an opportunity to join a tour and enjoy a taste of travel, albeit remotely.
“We pride ourselves on going the extra mile, and nothing makes us smile more than making sure our customers are truly happy,” noted Schreiber. “Seeing the many friendships that have been forged during our previous trips is also especially rewarding.”
Having established Legacy Kosher Tours’ reputation as a trendsetter that offers unique and exclusive experiences, Schreiber is enthusiastic about the Dubai trip, once again setting out on a path that others will undoubtedly follow.
“We go out of our way to explore all of the issues to make sure that the frum traveler can experience amazing destinations without any worries,” said Schreiber. “I get asked a lot of questions on tours, but undoubtedly my favorite is ‘Where are we going next?’”

Dubai: the next kosher destination.
Menachem Lubinsky December 30, 2020
It seemed like Dubai became a kosher destination almost overnight. It usually takes years to acclimate a hotel in a tourist destination to the whole concept of kosher. Yet, within a few weeks of the signing of the Abraham Accords between Israel and the UAE on the White House lawn, the UAE quickly became the new charm destination for the lucrative kosher travel industry despite the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Open any Orthodox publication these days and you are likely to see ads for a vacation in Dubai.
According to Raphy Bloom of Totally Jewish Travel, the hotels benefitted from a number of factors. Several key management people seemed to have kosher experience from other properties in Europe, the Caribbean and even the US. The Orthodox Union (OU) was invited to help open a kosher kitchen in a luxury hotel and to counsel local entrepreneurs about kosher. The Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Manama, Bahrain, became the first hotel in the kingdom to offer kosher certified food through the help of the (OU) Kosher.
Arieh Wagner of Starguest Kosher Catering in London, with vast experience in kosher travel, immediately became involved in planning kosher tours to Dubai. Ophir Tours (Israel) began offering a comprehensive choice of kosher tours to the UAE for groups or independent travelers.
Pioneered by the Armani Hotel, options for kosher hospitality in the United Arab Emirates are expanding. There are already three kosher restaurants or food venues in Dubai: Elli’s Kitchen – a local kosher caterer supervised by the Orthodox Union (OU). Eli’s Kitchen is owned by Elli Kriel who along with husband Ross Kriel are leaders in the tiny Jewish community of Dubai. Elli’s Kitchen exhibited at Kosherfest 2019.
In addition to Elli’s, there are other kosher options. Armani/Kaf inside the Armani Hotel features Dubai’s first kosher restaurant – an exclusive kosher venue located in Burj Khalifa. There is also Treat Kosher, a kosher catering service. The Armani Hotel Kosher Restaurant and Treat Kosher are supervised by Rabbi Levi Duchman, Chabad Rabbi of the UAE, who heads the Emirates Agency for Kosher Certification (EAKC). Both kosher establishments are Glatt Le Mehadrin and Pas Yisrael.
The Armani Hotel is the first hotel in the UAE to operate as a kosher hotel, offering kosher meals and kosher take out for Shabbat. The Palace hotel will be offering kosher Shabbat meals, and the Habtoor Palace will be hosting a Glatt Kosher winter sun program. In Abu Dhabi, the first hotel to offer a kosher kitchen is the Armed Forces Officers Club. More kosher hotels are expected to come soon.
The year 2020 was the first to see a public Sukkah built in Dubai. The Sukkah was built in front of the Burj Khalifa to serve the guests of the Armani/Kaf kosher restaurant and the Armani Hotel.
So, the mystery of how Dubai so quickly adapted to kosher is solved. It was a combination of having the right people there at the right time!

Passover Programs 2025 in the UAE - Dubai and Abu Dhabi | Pesach Vacation in Dubai | Pesach Program in Abu Dhabi
Was Passover in Dubai very busy? Ephraim: There was an influx of tourists for the holiday of Passover. There were five kosher for Passover hotels this year. There were many families who came in and organized Pesach on their own. There were many Israelis who came in for Chol Hamoed, arriving on Sunday or Monday and leaving Wednesday or Thursday, so yes, Passover this year was very busy!. How many tourists came into Dubai for Passover? Ephraim: Nobody has an exact number of how many people came into Dubai for Passover. The kosher programs hosted about 2,000 guests. This doesn’t include all the Pesach tourists who organized their own hotels and meals, as some of the kosher restaurants did offer kosher for Passover menus. Where did the tourists come from? Ephraim: People came in from Israel, America, Europe and Australia. Jews from all over came to Dubai for Passover. How were the sedarim? Ephraim: Every hotel had their sedarim. Chabad had the biggest seder in Dubai, probably the biggest seder in the world this year. It took place in the Mövenpick Grand Al Bustan Hotel in a few different social halls. The seder in the main hall had 800 Israelis and the hall next to it had seder with about 500 English-speaking people. That was very special. Were there any issues with the overlap with Ramadan and Easter? Ephraim: There were not too many issues with Ramadan because the meals were in closed hotels or ballrooms. No problem with eating meals inside the hotels during the day. When you go outside, you should respect the locals and try not to eat and drink in public during the day.
