MINNAPOLIS - Country Music star Kenny Chesney is coming back to Target Field, and he's bringing Jason Aldean with him.

The Minnesota Twins announced this (Monday) morning that Chesney's "The Big Revival Tour" and Aldean's "The Burn It Down Tour" will merge at Target Field on Saturday, July 18th next year. The two singers have scheduled a 10-date stadium tour across the country.

Ticket information and the complete artist lineup will be announced later. Twins season ticket holders who have renewed for the 2015 season will have access to an exclusive presale before the general public.

Chesney has performed at Target Field twice already, with Tim McGraw in 2012 and also in 2013.

This weekend Jason will ignite his first stadium show of the year as his BURN IT DOWN TOUR joins Kenny Chesney’s BIG REVIVAL 2015 TOUR for the first of 12 co-headlining shows this summer. The unparalleled stadium dates will weave throughout Aldean’s 43-city headlining tour, beginning at San Francisco’s Levi’s Stadium May 2.

“Chesney is one of country music’s greatest entertainers,” said Aldean. “He’s the first guy who comes to mind when I think about playing stadiums, so sharing the stage with him this summer is definitely something I’ll be able to check off my bucket list. Kenny and I have been talking about this for months, and we can’t wait to get out there with the fans to share the moment.”

Aldean’s “most explosive tour ever” (Rolling Stone) kicked off in February, with critics already noting “his confidence and showmanship have grown to match his fame…the country singer made a point to work every angle of his stage.” (Tennessean) .

“For die-hard Aldean fans there probably wasn’t any doubt the 2015 BURN IT DOWN TOUR would continue to live up to its name. The country megastar has made a reputation for himself over the past two years, turning up the heat in arenas and stadiums…flamethrowers and pyrotechnics…lighting and staging…in the flawlessly performed set.” (Music Row)

Jason Aldean Talks Touring, Tidal and 10 Years of Hits

By Melinda Newman

Melinda Newman

When  Jason Aldean and Kenny Chesney’s stadium tour kicks off May 2nd, the two superstars want to make sure they provide fans with a one-of-a-kind experience that far surpasses their individual high-octane shows.

The 10-date outing, which also includes Brantley Gilbert, Cole Swindell and Old Dominion, starts at San Francisco’s Levi’s Stadium and unspools throughout the summer, ending August 28th at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. Each artist will continue on his own headlining dates between joint stadium shows.

“Kenny has the same idea as me, he wants it to be something special,” Aldean tells Rolling Stone Country of the co-venture. “It’s not just his normal show, it’s not just my normal show, it’s something that’s really cool and different.”

Fans can expect each artist to perform his own set, then come together for a segment. “You’re going to hear songs that you wouldn’t typically hear from us. . . some Americana type stuff, [Bob] Seger, [John] Mellencamp,” Aldean hints. The pair began rehearsals a few weeks ago and have also been regularly talking and texting about the show.

In addition to a decade’s worth of hits, Aldean will perform new single, “Tonight Looks Good On You,” which made its TV debut on the Academy of Country Music Awards (where the singer was also awarded Male Vocalist of the Year ). The sultry, mid-tempo ballad is the third single from the Georgia native’s chart-topping album, Old Boots, New Dirt , and follows “Burnin’ It Down” and “Just Gettin’ Started,” both of which hit Number One on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart.

Aldean had “Tonight” pegged for a single from the first time he heard the tune, which was penned by hit songwriters Rhett Akins, Ashley Gorley and Dallas Davidson. “It’s one of the coolest songs that we’ve had on the last two albums,” he says. The singer recently heard it on the radio for the first time and admitted the feeling he gets hearing his songs through the car speakers never gets old. “I was leaving my house in Nashville and going to the gas station. It came on as I was pulling out of the driveway,” he says. “You can listen to it on a CD or phone, but when it’s coming through 100,000 watts on the radio, it just has a different sound. I sent Dallas a screen shot of the radio and [texted] ‘Looking good!'”

Every awful thing trump has promised to do in a second term, the 250 greatest guitarists of all time, the 500 greatest albums of all time, inside sammy davis jr.'s secret satanic past .

Aldean has also been making headlines as one of the initial artists — and lone country act — to be a partner in Tidal , the music streaming service launched last month by Jay Z that also includes Madonna, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Jack White and Kanye West, and gives the artists an ownership stake in the company. Tidal has come under fire for its cost (up to $19.99/month for high quality audio) and its questionable marketing strategy of having multi-millionaire acts talking about not getting their fair share. Even fellow artists such as Mumford & Sons and Death Cab for Cutie’s Ben Gibbard have criticized the new company for, in part, not doing enough for new artists.

For all the issues surrounding Tidal, Aldean supports the service and feels it is a step in the right direction toward artists and songwriters receiving fair compensation from streaming. “If artists want to go out and spend their own money to make a record and just go and give them away, you can do whatever you want, that’s your deal,” he says. “But for most people, a record company signs them, fronts them the money to cut these records. If you can’t sell records [and people are] just getting it for free, you have no way to pay [the record company] back. In turn, the record company’s just not going to keep you there. They’re going to cut you from the label and it’s just really not fair to artists, especially new artists. At least Tidal is trying to get [the music business] back on track and in the right direction.”

Aldean took his music off Spotify earlier this year because the streaming service allows subscribers to listen for free in exchange for hearing advertising spots.

Pink performs 'what about us' with her daughter willow sage at dnc, sabrina carpenter's album 'short n' sweet' is finally here, here are the people who lost millions backing musk's twitter takeover.

One of Tidal’s selling points is that participating artists will provide Tidal subscribers with exclusives. Aldean already has some in mind, including some acoustic releases and videos that haven’t previously come out. He also wouldn’t mind collaborating with fellow Tidal shareholder and Nashvillian White. “Jack’s really cool. I spent a lot of time talking with him,” he says. “I think you’ll probably see a lot of cool stuff coming out of Tidal.”

This year marks the 10th anniversary since Aldean released his self-titled debut album, which contained hits “Hicktown” and “Why.” “I’ve already in my career accomplished more than I could have ever dreamed of,” he says, but adds he has big plans for the next 10. “There’s still a lot of places left that I would love to play. I want to make it when people come to our show, it’s an event. It’s not like just going to anybody’s show. Whatever it is we do down the road, I want it to still have that feel, whether we throw a show on the beach somewhere or up in the mountains and it’s snowing like hell. Whatever it is, I want it to be something cool that people are going to remember.”

Kenny Chesney / Jason Aldean Concert at Lambeau Results in Scary (& Hilarious) Police Squawk

Trigger News Brantley Gilbert , Cole Swindell , Green Bay , Kenny Chesney , Lambeau Field , Old Dominion --> 46 Comments

kenny-chesney

This story has been updated (see below).

Kenny Chesney rolled his Big Revival Tour with special guest Jason Aldean into the historic football town of Green Bay on Saturday night (6-20), and set his stage works up on the hallowed ground of Lambeau Field for a stadium concert. The show also included openers Old Dominion, Cole Swindell, and Brantley Gilbert, who the local Journal Sentinel reviewer singled out and chided for his, “‘bad ass’ attitude [that] was certainly overblown, between a ridiculous ‘tough guy’ video intro, his drummer’s mohawk, the brass knuckles attached to his mic, and his barking stage banter, similar to a WWE wrestler.”

Local media and some sports fans were somewhat leery of Kenny Chesney’s arrival at Lambeau since the last time country music’s beach king came to town in 2011, it resulted in 15 arrests and 60 ejections from the concert, as well as concerns about how so much foot traffic and temporary construction could impact the playing field. The 2011 Chesney concert was also the last time a concert had been held at the football shrine, and some sports fans cited Chesney’s now infamous concerts at another famous football stadium—Heinz Field in Pittsburgh— as a concern, where Chesney-mania has resulted in shocking photos of trash and bloated arrest statistics for the last few years.

***UPDATE***UPDATE: The Green Bay Police and Fire have released updated numbers for the concert. Capt. Paul Ebel said , “I don’t recall, in my 27 years ever having a game where we were this busy.” 25 people were arrested, another 125 people had their tickets confiscated, and a total of an estimated 250 to 300 ejections from the concert. Alcohol was said to be the major issue at the concert. Green Bay Metro firefighters also responded to between 50 and 60 calls for assistance and transported four or five people to area hospitals, said battalion chief Steve Sellin. These numbers were also significantly higher than at average Packer games.

One enterprising local reporter, Doug Schneider of the Green Bay Press Gazette decided to listen in to the police scanner during the concert and Tweet what he heard —something Schneider is known for doing during Green Bay Packers games. The result is somewhere between scary and hilarious, and once again lends to the theory of the subversion of country music .

And yes, I first discovered this through The Big Lead so hat tip to them, and it’s yet another example of disdain for today’s country music bleeding into the sports realm.

Enjoy, and feel free to vote for your favorite below.

Though the visual of watching a police cruiser follow some drunk endlessly circling a traffic roundabout like Clark Griswald in “European Vacation” is quite fetching, I’m going to choose, “She’ll call us back if she smells it again.” for the win.

' src=

” he’s , uh, dirtied his pants ” hahaha. Weird, I go to randy and Wade’s acoustic show and this stuff never happens. And it’s called Hold My Beer and Watch This tour lol.

' src=

that honda in the roustabout just have been a hoot to watch. color me amused and butter my biscuits.

' src=

Anyone else notice that most people who go to concerts are usually lowlife trash?

Exactly the opposite. Of course the concerts I’ve gone too recently include Scythian, the Time Jumpers, Rhonda Vincent and the Rage, Leahy, and Brother Brian Glenn. Worst thing I’ve seen are elitist old ladies acting like they’re better than everyone. One lady called Ranger Doug “one of Roy Rogers’ singing cowboys.” I wouldn’t consider than “lowlife trash.” Of course I’d never go see Jason Aldean, sooo..

@ Fuzzy, “exactly the opposite”. yeah, ok LOL! i’m not even gonna argue.

' src=

You are so off base & insulting at the same time.

@ Theresa, Freedom of Speech

' data-tf-not-load src=

Wow…agreed, somewhere between hilarious and scary. Hard to believe this is real. Seems like it should be a scene from the movie “Ideocracy” (just watch the first 5 minutes, that’s all you need). Is country music the canary in the mine? Humanity doesn’t seem to be moving in a positive direction. My favorite: “There’s throw up all over the section.” Sweet Jesus, that’s an image I can’t un-imagine.

' data-tf-not-load src=

One asshole at a time…

' data-tf-not-load src=

I live near Buffalo, and the rural area outside the burbs is very ignorant and very bro – country. Anyway, we managed to get Kasey Musgraves in town by some stroke of luck a few months ago, and most of the audience was those sort of folks. I think they showed up because they figured “why not, she’s country, right? I think I heard a song by her once.”

That was such an embarrassing concert to be at. A bunch of people got smashed, and refused to shut up whenever kacey was telling anecdotes on stage or just doing her thing. She seemed pretty peeved by the end of it, and actually took time mid set to call out a very intoxicated man in the front row.

So every time I hear about things like this, I can’t help but think of that concert. For me, It really illustrated just how far “country’s” fan base has deviated from the music that it once revered. Culture shock of the worst kind

' data-tf-not-load src=

Unfortunately my Kacey experience was the same. Loud people who just wanted to get rowdy and make a scene because that’s what the radio tells them concerts are for: anything but the music.

' data-tf-not-load src=

Mine was much better, then again she was with Willie Nelson and Allison Krauss so the biggest problem we had were people smoking joints.

' data-tf-not-load src=

Thats a good problem to have Michael. lol

' data-tf-not-load src=

I wonder what this guy says about how this concert compared to what he usually hears with Packers games.

' data-tf-not-load src=

As a law enforcement student, I’ll be sure to put in for overtime hours at country concerts if I want to be entertained for a night.

Sorry to get scatalogical but the folks that messed their pants are my favorites.

' data-tf-not-load src=

Caller wants to leave disabled vehicle along I-43 “because she’s going to the Kenny Chesney concert.”

And here we have my nomination for displaying the most worryingly skewed set of priorities I’ve seen since the events of the graveyard shift I worked two weeks ago.

' data-tf-not-load src=

Been to many Packers games. Not even going to try pretend that there isn’t a lot of beer being consumed. Never once saw a fight, or even anyone being ejected for anything. This type of event brings them out of the woodwork. Bad-ass singers attract a lot of Bad-ass, ignorant fans. Lord knows we have a lot of them up here in the Badger State.

' data-tf-not-load src=

I really like going round and round in the vehicle.

' data-tf-not-load src=

Most were probably Packers fans. That fact alone is enough proof to deduce a hypothesis. They booed Brett Favre after he gave them years of service; they are definitely not going to behave during a concert.

' data-tf-not-load src=

I remember when all this kinda shit happened back when Ray Price was the hottest country concert act .

NOT !!!!!!!!!!!

You can’t mosh pit to “Pride,” Albert.

' data-tf-not-load src=

Very sad. Weird thing is I was at this years Jimmy Buffett show in Frisco, Texas at the soccer stadium plenty of alcohol being consumed no fights, no bodily fluids anywhere but the restroom no arrests. I guess it’s because of the older crowd. Then again no reports like these from Chesney’s show at Cowboys stadium either. Could it be a regional thing?

' data-tf-not-load src=

I went to a Buffett show a few years ago, and had heard about all the drinking and partying. Ive been to SO many Kenny Chesney shows, and obv there is tons of drinking at those – so I was expecting something similar. I was amazed how much fun Buffett was in comparison! People are definitely drinking and partying, but everyone was so much more calm and laid back and friendly. It was a nice mixed-age crowd. For a group of friends and I, its always been a summer tradition to see Chesney for about 10 years… the older we get though, the less fun it gets. The people just get drunker and drunker each year. We are going this year, and I have a feeling it might be the last one. I just dont get why people cant just drink and enjoy themselves – they have to drink to fall down. Is that REALLY enjoyable?

' data-tf-not-load src=

Made me remember the 1st time I saw Springsteen. Spread out on the lawn at Alpine Valley, a few girls next to us asked if we’d watch their stuff while they used the bathroom. Total strangers looking out for each other. It was a simpler time, I guess.

' data-tf-not-load src=

The last Packer – Bear game had somewhere in the neighbor hood of 60 arrests and ejections. I’D say the concert was tame in comparison lol.

' data-tf-not-load src=

“He’s, uh, dirtied his pants.”

Country concerts bring out the classiest people, don’t they?

Though, I was reading about this at another website and they had spoken with a police officer who says that they don’t usually have this much police action at a single Packers’ game, which I found to be an interesting tid-bit.

' data-tf-not-load src=

I know that “She”™ll call us back if she smells it again” probably refers to weed, but it’s so much more fun to use your imagination.

' data-tf-not-load src=

The fight in the restroom was clearly over who had the biggest truck.

And by “truck” you mean . . . .

' data-tf-not-load src=

“he’s, uh, dirtied his pants” Is this what the fans of bro country mean by “evolution”? 😀

' data-tf-not-load src=

Thank goodness I can go to concerts at venues like Floore’s Country Store and Gruene Hall, where this sort of crap is somewhere between few and far between to non-existent.

Note: as others have mentioned, this is not representative of all country concerts. Only the ginormous stadium shows. And oddly enough, more commonly it seems to happen “up north”. Disappointed that this continues to be the way “country” is represented though.

' data-tf-not-load src=

Once again, a bunch of us rednecks got together and several of them showed their asses. I continue to fail to see the need to waste the time to report on the natural course of things, but it looks like a quick one for Trigger to whip out, so no biggie.

If I may be allowed to steer the focus back to something that matters more than a rat’s ass, I ran across another interesting show in my area. I found it as a result of checking out some of the stuff I found here on SCM, so thanks a bunch!

Whispering Beards is in Friendship, IN, which is just west of the Cincinnati area. Check it out at the following link. Friendship is one of those out-in-the-woods funky places. I have been to the flea market there, and they have muzzle-loader shoots there. In the summer the hoot owls carry off chickens in the day time, and in the winter they have to pipe in sunshine. But it’s a nice place. Friendly.

Blame Canada. They are the ones who brought us that Fireball shit. It’s destroying a generation.

So funny that Fireball is actually mentioned in one of the squawks. Priceless.

' data-tf-not-load src=

“Person who”™s drinking from small bottles, puking and falling on people.” Gets my vote. I mean, wouldn’t that just suck?

' data-tf-not-load src=

I’ve got tickets to this tour at Gillette stadium in august. Friend of mine wanted to go so I got him tickets for his birthday. I had the extra money so I got tickets for me and my girlfriend, cause fuck it, I used to listen to Kenny in my childhood.

I’m considering selling the tickets at this point. This just seems downright dangerous

' data-tf-not-load src=

I thought the first tweet summed it all up very nicely except the dumpster fire was onstage.

' data-tf-not-load src=

I’m not a big concert-goer, but could someone please tell me what the point is of spending money on a ticket and getting shitfaced so badly that you don’t even know where you are anyway? Seems like a waste of money, beyond the obvious disrespect for the attendees that go for the music.

' data-tf-not-load src=

An expensive ticket at that. These seats probably went for $100+.

' data-tf-not-load src=

Oh man, I was at this concert due to a friend of mine having an extra ticket. Can confirm – it was a urine, beer and ego-soaked hurricane of Bro Country chaos. “Stone Cold Country” flags everywhere (I still don’t get what that phrase means, but I’m going to assume the country is cold because it was DOA). Prime people-watching, though. Tons of vomit. Tons of drunk chicks in crop tops with tattoos of little birds/dreamcatchers. Jason Aldean’s performance was even less inspired than his latest album and Brantley Gilbert sang just enough songs to remind us why he stopped being relevant in 2012. However, Grace Potter made a guest appearance to sing “You and Tequila” with Kenny Chesney while he pretended to know/care about Cole Swindell, which was nice of him. Despite being elbow-to-elbow with sweaty strangers for seven hours, I’m damn glad I saw Kenny live again – say what you will about “The Revival,” but the man was born to perform. I used to love concerts – even ones of this magnitude – but the douchebag demographic that the new generation of country music attracts is what has ruined it all for anyone who isn’t a total f*cking walnut. It isn’t country music that causes so much trouble at these gatherings, I don’t think. I’ve been to a whole slew of country shows in the past where people managed to be upright and functional the whole time – it’s the Bro Country mindset and the constant perpetuation/encouragement of getting wasted that seems to flip a switch in people, causing them to act like heathens. They think it’s cute, and “country,” but it isn’t. It’s going to ruin a good thing for everyone. I didn’t see any major violence/drama, but then again, I stayed pretty glued to my seat, because avoiding the vomit was like a high-stakes game of “the floor is lava.” I hope they enjoyed paying $100+ a seat for a concert they won’t remember. Assholes. 2/10. Wouldn’t do it again.

' data-tf-not-load src=

It’s hard for me to think of any of these bro country acts as “bad ass”. I have seen everyone from Cash to Paycheck and Waylon to Jones, and so many more( not bragging just thankful to have seen them). I never thought of any of them as bad ass, more as having very interesting life styles. Maybe the bros never heard Waylon say “don’t give up the music for the show”

Kenny does put on an amazing show. Your line about tattoos of little birds and dream catchers made me laugh. That is so true.

' data-tf-not-load src=

I performed at a tailgate event for this right by the stadium. The crowd didnt seem that bad….but then again that was BEFORE the show so maybe people we’re quite as intoxicated at that point

' data-tf-not-load src=

I am unsure which comment was left that said that country concerts were to blame and white trash. I have heard of some pretty violent and outrageous happenings at other events. I am Southern, I love country music and I also have all my teeth and a college education. Let’s not make this a white trash, Southern thing, and if we want to be nasty and vile, some of the above comments could use some grammar work and an oxford comma or two.

Jason Aldine Williams (born February 28th, 1977), better known by his stage name, Jason Aldean, is an American country musician from Macon, Georgia, who’s been making music since 2005.

The trajectory of Aldean’s career to date serves as a sharp example of the old adage that good things come to those who wait, although you could certainly forgive him for wishing that things had panned out a little more simply for him. He seemed to have the world at his feet in 1998; at the age of twenty-one, he signed a record deal with Warner-Chappell. He was subsequently, and repeatedly, dropped, and spent some years struggling to get his music career - something which had once looked like a dead-cert - off the ground. It meant that he didn’t manage to get his self-titled debut record out into the world until 2005, although it brought the success that his talent had always promised; “Why” became his first number one single on the U.S. Country charts, and the album itself would eventually go platinum in his homeland, too.

Since then, he’s released a further three platinum albums and another, November 2010’s “My Kinda Party”, that was certified triple-platinum. He’s a bona fide country titan now, with a slew of Grammy nominations and another Billboard number one position for his latest album, October 2010’s Old Boots, New Dirt, proof of his national stardom.

Live reviews

The concert was a 16th birthday present for my daughter. She has been listening to country music for only a year or so and none of her close friends share her interests in it. She didn't know that our seats were on the field and her face when we stopped and picked up the field wristband was priceless! What a great beginning for the night. I know that more than one song of Jason's has helped her through a few things over the past few months. It all started while she was reading a book a while back that had the words to Jason's song She's Country in it. It not only touched the heroine's heart but my daughter's too. Not yet a Jason fan, she decided to find out what other songs were his. The rest is history. The concert was truly a wonderful experience - from Tyler Farr, Florida Georgia Line and then.....JASON ALDEAN!! The fireworks that started the show and visuals throughout were great. A surprise duet with Kelly Clarkson (on video), great selection of songs; even a new song too. Loved his interaction with the lady and the t shirt during 1994. It was a great night with my daughter. We were sorry to see it end. Fortunately, Jason was gracious enough to do one encore. How about the encore??!!! We couldn't believe the incredible song choice - She's Country with a sky full of fireworks!!!!! It just doesn't get any better than that!!! Thanks Jason for stopping in Philly.

Any country fan is encouraged to see the charismatic Jason Aldean perform live to see an artist who adds real show to his country sound. Supported by a tight backing band who Alden continuously interacts, jams and thanks throughout the show, the Tennessee singer/songwriter is confident onstage to say the least.

The guitar string intro of 'Hicktown' receives massive cheers from the crowd as Jason launches into a barrage of hit singles in such quick succession that the first ten minutes of the show are one massive barn-storming blur. His last two albums have hit the top spot on the US Billboard chart so a percentage of his audience are made of new supporters and Jason caters to them with huge renditions of 'Night Train' and 'Take A Little Ride'.

Whilst he accommodates his older, loyal fans with the likes of 'Amarillo Sky' and 'Johnny Cash'. Either way, all the crowd seem to enjoy every song by the sound of applause throughout. 'She's Country', his usual set closer evokes massive roars of appreciation from the audience and spurs Aldean on further as his whole band before this massive country toe tapping swan song.

My husband my son and I went to Lakewood in Atlanta to see Jason Aldean, Florida Georgia line and Tyler Farr. The tickets were reserve pit. My 10 year old son got to high five Jason. It was an amazing and unforgettable night. The tickets were about $100 per person but to us was worth every dime. We took a lot of great pics. The staff at Lakewood were very helpful and nice. Jason Aldean is an awesome performer. He played all our favorite songs. He rocked the ATL. By far my favorite concert EVER! I hope I get to see him live again. The sound was great and Jason sounded perfect. I'm glad he picked Florida Georgia line to tour with him. I think it is a perfect combination. They even rocked out together at the end in an awesome jam session. If you get a chance, go see Jason!

This show was way beyond packed. I didn't know it could get that full at the sleep train. We had to park about a mile out and walk just to catch the very end of Thomas Rhett which was super lame. Wish we could have seen all of us his show. Also jason aldean put on a great show much better than super graphicy one last year - but the encore was really weird and really wanted to hear Texas was You but nope a few too many new boring songs. Jason Aldean and this tour is clearly the king of country right now.

AWSOME!!!! Fire works good music totally legit concert I would advise if you are a Jason aldean fan go see him live its even better sounds exactly how he does on the radio. He also performed all of his hits down to his earliest number ones and hits. light show "shes country"and "crazy town" had the most effects during the show flame throwers as well. Too much to tell. If you love Jason aldean you have to go see him live he will not let you down just awesome.

Kane Brown was amazing and Jason Aldean rocked the house. Montage Mountain is still a disaster to get to. Must be run by the 3 Stooges. Took an hour to get up the hill, missed half the concert. You would think k after all these years somebody competent could figure out traffic slow. Never going back to that venue. How many years of constant complaints about traffic and parking before somebody cares Montage ?

What a fantastic show! 10/10, absolutely amazing. I will remember last night for a long time, as I had a blast and sung my heart out with Jason Aldean and his headliners a Thousand Horses and Thomas Rhett. The stage setup and lighting was phenomenal, and really added to the great experience of the show.

Absolutely amazing! I even brought a friend with me who doesn't even listen to country and she had a blast! She now loves Aldean just as much as me. She even made me stop at the store on the way home so she could buy all his albums they had! I got her hooked and I'm proud. :)

The concert was incredible! The only bad part was the amount of time it took toget into the concert and the amount of time it took to get out of the parking lot. Other than those two issues, the concert was great.

Kenny Chesney and Jason Aldean Add Brantley Gilbert to Stadium Tour Lineup

The big news just keeps coming for Kenny Chesney  and  Jason Aldean 's stadium tour.  Brantley Gilbert has been added to the lineup for 15 stadium shows in 2015.

The Big Revival / Burn It Down Tour hasn't kicked off yet, but it's already shaping up to be one of the biggest of 2015. Chesney decided to co-headline a portion of it with one of the hottest country stars out there right now. That combined with Gilbert's intense, high-energy stage presence will only make this show more of a party, but Chesney isn't done yet -- he's still got more special guests to announce.

“When you co-headline a tour with Jason Aldean, you’ve gotta get someone who can hold their own to go in front,” Chesney says in a release. “When I looked around, for those stadium shows that Brantley’s part of, he’s the man for the job. He knows how to reach the crowd, how to make them rock -- and he’s not afraid to push the rest of us.”

Gilbert is known for not just his No. 1 hits, but also the songs he's written for others. It's clear he and Aldean have musical compatibility, since Gilbert co-wrote 'Dirt Road Anthem' as well as 'My Kind of Party.' Chesney says that's the type of music he looks for in a live show, which is yet another reason he added Gilbert to the bill.

“As a fan, when I go to a show, I want the music to hit me in the chest and make me feel something all night long,” the star explains. “I want to have the time of my life, for the fans to hit every possible emotion -- and make me feel everything humanly possible. When we started looking at acts to take out in 2015, especially having been off the road this year, I wanted to make sure the people that I brought were gonna be as committed to reaching the fans in the back of the stadium as I am.”

Chesney's sole headlining portion of the tour kicks off on his birthday, March 26, in Nashville. Aldean joins him on May 2 in San Francisco.

Combined Big Revival Tour and Burn It Down Tour Dates:

5/02 - San Francisco, Calif. 5/16 - Dallas, Texas 6/20 - Green Bay, Wisc. 6/27 - Seattle, Wash. 7/18 - Minneapolis, Minn. 7/25 - Pasadena, Calif. 8/01 - Kansas City, Mo. 8/08 - Denver, Colo. 8/15 - E. Rutherford, N.J. 8/28 - Boston, Mass.

Alan Jackson

Many of country music’s top artists, studio musicians and executives were feted on Wednesday night (Aug. 21) during the 17 th Academy of Country Music Honors, held at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium.

ACM CEO Damon Whiteside ushered in the evening, welcoming attendees and saying, “Congratulations to all of the honorees that are with us. We can’t wait to celebrate with you tonight.”

Among the artists who took part or were celebrated were nearly 10 past and present ACM entertainer of the year winners, including Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Chris Stapleton, Dolly Parton and Lainey Wilson.

Carly Pearce returned for a fourth year as host, leading the evening with co-host and reigning ACM song of the year winner Jordan Davis , who wrote his hit “Next Thing You Know” with Josh Osborne, Chase McGill and Greylan James.

“This show is the industry’s favorite night because it honors not only the artists but the behind-the-scenes community that makes what we do possible,” Pearce told the audience.

Tyler Hubbard , an 11-time ACM Award winner, presented the ACM Studio Recording and Industry Awards portion of the show. Choctaw Grand Theater won casino of the year – theater, while Uncasville, Connecticut’s Mohegan Sun Arena earned its eighth casino of the year – arena category win. Singer-songwriter Tony Orlando, who performed his final concert at the Mohegan after six decades of entertaining audiences, accepted the accolade and called the venue “a cathedral of music.”

“People cut their teeth and became megastars in that arena,” Orlando said, noting stars including Garth Brooks and Taylor Swift performed in the venue at points in their careers. “They care about you, they care about those who attend the shows and support the performers.”

Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, won its third outdoor venue of the year accolade, Tortuga Music Festival was named festival of the year for a third time, while San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo earned its second fair/rodeo of the year win.

Former San Antonio Livestock Exposition, Inc. president David White said, “Thank you for giving us the ability to preserve rodeo heritage…and supporting country music.” Ed Warm accepted for Joe’s Live in Rosemont, Ill., which won its third club of the year trophy, while Warm was named ACM Don Romeo talent buyer of the year.

“I’m humbled to be standing here accepting these honors and I want to acknowledge the other nominees. You’re the ones who set the standard in this industry. At Joe’s Live we try to do things the right way, with passion, integrity, and a deep love of country music,” Warm said.

Over 130+ years, the Ryman Auditorium has transformed from a tabernacle to one of the most revered venues. The Ryman earned its eighth win for ACM theater of the year. Ryman Auditorium director of concerts Chrissy Hall accepted the honor, saying, “We don’t do this alone at all and most of the people that make this place so special are working for you all tonight. I dedicate this to the crew here at the Ryman.”

Fellow Nashville venue Bridgestone Arena earned its sixth win for ACM arena of the year. AEG promoter Adam Weiser earned his first ACM Award for ACM promoter of the year. “This is all about community,” Weiser said. “I’m truly blessed to work with the best people.”

Among the studio recording artist winners were steel guitar player Paul Franklin, producer Dann Huff, bass player Jimmie Lee Sloas, electric guitar player Rob McNelley, piano/keys players Jim “Moose” Brown and David Dorn, audio engineer Jim Cooley, guitar player Charlie Worsham and drummer Jerry Roe. A Gibson Les Paul guitar signed by many of the honorees was auctioned off to benefit ACM Lifting Lives. Among the bidders were Luke Bryan and Garth Brooks, with $125,000 raised through the auction.

From there, the performance portion of the evening began, with music from Lauren Alaina, Jason Aldean, Davis, Jackson Dean, Kameron Marlowe, Carly Pearce, Lee Ann Womack, Eric Church, Vince Gill, Emmylou Harris, Tyler Hubbard, Jamey Johnson, Ashley McBryde, Terri Clark and Keith Urban.

Alan Jackson and Walt Aldridge were honored with the ACM’s poets award, presented to a songwriter for outstanding and longstanding musical and/or lyrical contributions throughout their career. Davis and Pearce launched the musical events, honoring Alan Jackson, with Davis performing “Chattahoochie” and Pearce performing “Don’t Rock the Jukebox.” Marlowe feted Aldridge with a blistering version of “Modern-Day Bonnie and Clyde.” Aldridge’s credits include Ronnie Milsap’s “(There’s) No Gettin’ Over Me” and Earl Thomas Conley’s “Holding Her and Loving You.”

Lainey Wilson, who will release her new album Whirlwind on Friday (Aug. 23), was honored as this year’s triple-crown winner, earning a coveted accolade Wilson qualified for by winning the ACM’s new female artist of the year, female artist of the year, and entertainer of the year honors. It’s an honor only nine others have won, including Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Chesney and Carrie Underwood. Wilson also wins this year’s milestone award, presented to an artist, duo/group or industry leader for a specific, unprecedented or outstanding achievement in the field of country music during the preceding calendar year. In May, Wilson was named the ACM’s entertainer of the year.

Trisha Yearwood and producer/musician/industry executive Tony Brown were honored with the ACM Icon Award, which fetes an artist, duo/group or industry leader who has advanced the popularity of the genre through contributions to different areas of the industry, including songwriting, recording, production, film and more. Harris and Alaina feted Yearwood with a duet of “The Song Remembers When.”

More performances followed, as Chris Stapleton was honored as artist-songwriter of the year, with Jamey Johnson delivering a somber, convicting rendition of Stapleton’s “Whiskey and You.”

The evening also highlighted the ACM Lifting Lives grant cycle, fueled by Music Has Value. As part of this segment, Jackson Dean, who was wearing a shirt owned by the late Glen Campbell, honored Campbell with a rendition of Campbell’s “Strong.” Luke Bryan was honored with the ACM Lifting Lives Award for his various charitable endeavors through the years, most notably his Farm Tour, which helps create scholarships for students in rural areas to attend agricultural colleges. Since the tour’s inception in 2009, he has awarded more than 80 scholarships.

“Over the years I’ve watched him give 110% to whatever he does, especially when it comes to helping others,” Bryan’s fellow country artist Jason Aldean said in honoring his friend.

“I’m so blessed to be part of this industry where every day, people go the extra mile to help,” Bryan said, noting the work that ACM Lifting Lives does to help others.”

The 17 th ACM Honors will air Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 9 p.m. ET on Merit Street, marking the first time the special will air on the network, as part of a larger partnership between Merit Street Media and the Academy of Country Music. Below, we look at five top musical moments from this year’s ACM Honors:

Lainey Wilson's Triple-Crown Moment

A trio of artists honored reigning ACM entertainer of the year Lainey Wilson in winning the triple crown and the milestone award. First up, Terri Clark honored Wilson with a version of Wilson’s “Hang Tight Honey.”

“You wrote a lot of words there, Lainey,” Clark quipped. Wilson appears on Clark’s recent album, Take Two . Dolly Parton appeared via video to congratulate Wilson on earning her Triple Crown Award, saying, “You know I will always love you,” while Post Malone surprised the audience to honor Wilson.

“This guy right here is a part of country music,” Wilson told the crowd of Post Malone, before reflecting on her time working towards these milestones. “I got so many thoughts running through my mind. Terri Clark that was so cool and Dolly, thank you for the sweet words.”

She looked back at some of her career milestones, from her first shows in Louisiana and her early days in Nashville, to having her first sold-out show: “I don’t think the milestones ever end, and I’m believing and receiving that it don’t. Every night at my shows I get to crown someone cowgirl of the night and that means… recognizing what makes them special and making them feel they can do anything they want to do. And that is what y’all have done for me. Thank you for helping me make my dreams come true… Wow, have those 13 years paid off here in this town.”

Keith Urban Celebrates Songwriter Jessie Jo Dillon

Jessie Jo Dillon, the daughter of country music songwriter Dean Dillon, has written over 900 songs, including hits such as Jelly Roll’s “Halfway to Hell” and Megan Moroney’s “Girl in the Mirror.” She was tributed by fellow singer-songwriter Brandy Clark, while Keith Urban performed a stripped-back, soulful rendition of “Messed Up as Me,” which Dillon wrote with Shane McAnally, Michael Lotten and Rodney Clawson.

“We strive to cut to the heart of the matter and make real music for real people,” Dillon said, and thanked her music publishing family at Big Machine Music, as well as supporters at Big Machine Label Group.

Dillon also took the opportunity to plead for songwriters to be paid justly: “We are not being fairly compensated for our works… what about the [future] Dean Dillon that moved to town and can’t make enough to stay here? We have to save the music, y’all.”

Vince Gill, Ashley McBryde Honor Tony Brown

Tony Brown’s multi-faceted career includes time in Elvis Presley’s TCB band, Emmylou Harris’s Hot Band, and time spent as a producer shaping the sounds that would define ’90s country music, through his production work for artists including George Strait, Reba McEntire and Vince Gill. He has eight ACM Awards, including wins for producer of the year. He also served as a top exec at MCA Nashville before co-founding Universal South Records in the early 2000s.

Strait sent in a video congratulating Brown, before Gill and McBryde teamed up to perform the first song Brown produced for Gill back in 1989, “When I Call Your Name.”

“A drummer once told me the song was so slow I should count it off with a calendar,” Gill quipped before performing the song, with McBryde offering a sterling, husky harmony. The crowd gave them the first standing ovation of the night.

Lee Ann Womack, Fisk Jubilee Singers Honor Shannon Sanders

Shannon Sanders, who serves as executive director, creative at BMI, was celebrated with the ACM Lift Every Voice Award. Sanders serves on the ACM board of directors, as well as chairing the ACM Lifting Voices Council.

Womack is known for her traditional country bona fides, but she also offered up some country soul during the ACM Honors, by honoring Sanders with a rendition of “Home,” alongside the Fisk Jubilee Singers, making for a soaring, powerful performance.

“I stand before you tonight deeply humbled and immensely grateful,” Sanders said in accepting the accolade — thanking his family, the Academy of Country Music, BMI, Nashville Music Equality and others who are “amplifying underrepresented voices in country music. Let this voice serve as a reminder to us to lift every voice and lift every story.”

Eric Church Offers a Soulful Take on an Alan Jackson Classic

Country Music Hall of Famer Jackson has earned 26 Billboard Country Airplay No. 1 hits and is a co-writer or sole writer on most of those. During the ACM Honors, he was celebrated with the ACM Poet’s Award and was honored by Eric Church.

“Alan Jackson is an institution and an American treasure. It’s my honor to be here and play for him,” Church said, also offering up a story about at one time being on the road with another country music luminary.

“I was touring with Hank [Williams], Jr. and every night he would play ‘Family Tradition.’” Church recalled that after he tried putting his own spin on the song, “Hank tolerated me for about 30 seconds and he pulled his glasses down and said, ‘Brother, don’t paint on the Mona Lisa.’ So tonight I’m going to try to paint around the Mona Lisa, okay?”

Church performed a slowed-down, soulful rendition of Jackson’s 1990 hit “Chasin’ That Neon Rainbow,” drawing the night’s biggest response and earning an immediate standing ovation from the crowd.

Walking onstage with his wife Denise, Jackson himself praised Church for his unique rendering of the song, and accepted the honor — thanking fans for their support over the years, and expressing how his love of songwriting has been the center of his career.
