McFly have announced that they will celebrate the band's 21 st birthday by playing two very special shows at The O2 on Wednesday 9 and Thursday 10 October 2024.

It’s been 21 years since McFly first formed, a journey which has taken them from their breakthrough hit ‘Five Colours In Her Hair’ to last year’s full-force rock album ‘Power To Play’. Along the way Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd have scored seven #1 singles, seven Top 10 albums, 10 million sales, a BRIT Award, sold-out countless arena shows and still remain the youngest band to ever have a debut album go straight to number 1, beating The Beatles.

McFly have announced a 21st anniversary show taking place at the O2 in London this October.

More than two decades since the pop-rock boyband formed, the group are celebrating their “21st birthday” with a special show on October 10, where they’re set to play hits and fan favourites from across their career.

The O2 is the latest addition to McFly’s 2024 tour schedule, which also includes outdoor shows and festival dates.

Tickets for the show go on general sale 9am GMT this Friday (February 23), and can be purchased here .

Having failed with his audition to join Busted, Tom Fletcher joined forces with Danny Jones, Harry Judd and Dougie Poynter and formed McFly in the early 2000s. their debut single, 5 Colours in Her Hair, was an immediate success, going to number one on the UK Singles Chart.

The band's debut album, Room on the 3rd Floor, sold almost a million copies in the UK alone and spawned further successful singles, including Obviously, That Girl and Room on the 3rd Floor, all of which reached the top five in the UK. In 2005, McFly released their second studio album, and Wonderland was another huge success, going to the top of the album charts and including two number-one singles with All About You and I'll Be OK.

Motion in the Ocean was released in 2006, and that led to yet more singles success, with Don't Stop Me Now, Baby's Coming Back and Star Girl going to number one. The success of the band led to hugely successful live tours, with events selling out at alarming speed.

In 2016, they decided to take a break as members sought to continue solo projects, with Tom Fletcher moving towards writing children's books, but they returned to release their sixth studio album in 2020 with Young Dumb Thrills, which was another big seller that earned critical acclaim and won over a new generation of fans.

In 2023 Power to Play was released and reached number two on the UK Albums Chart.

Deep Purple announces 2024 tour with Yes. Get tickets today

In 1972, Deep Purple released the iconic “Smoke On The Water.”

Now, 52 years (!) later, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers will celebrate their mega hit on their ‘1 More Time Tour’ with fellow Rock Hall inductees Yes all summer long.

Along the way, Ian Gillan and co. are scheduled to make five New York and New Jersey stops.

First, the heavy hitmakers drop into Camden, NJ’s Freedom Mortgage Pavilion on Friday, Aug. 30.

After that, the London natives swoop into Holmdel, NJ’s PNC Bank Arts Center on Aug. 31, Wantagh, NY’s Jones Beach Theater on Sept. 1 and Saratoga Springs, NY’s Saratoga Performing Arts Center on Sept. 4.

Deep Purple closes their NY run at Bethel’s Bethel Woods Center For The Arts on Sept. 6.

For fans that can’t wait to rock out to “Hush,” “Highway Star,” “Space Truckin'” — and of course “Smoke On The Water” — tickets for all North American concerts can be picked up as soon as today.

Although inventory isn’t available on Ticketmaster until Friday, April 12, fans who want to ensure they have tickets ahead of time can purchase on sites like Vivid Seats before tickets are officially on sale.

Being together for 56 years doesn’t mean Deep Purple doesn’t have more to give to the world.

In 2022, the band reached deep into their archives and dug out “ Extras: The Infinite B Sides and Bonus Songs”  which is a must for any Purple superfan.

However, what we found most interesting was the band’s latest record of original music, 2021’s bluesy, New Orleans-y  “Turning To Crime.”

Featuring epic rock (“7 and 7 Is”) as well as lively party startin’ tunes (“Rockin’ Pneumonia and the Boogie Woogie Flu”) and covers from B.B. King (“Let the Good Times Roll”) and Cream (“White Room”), the album is certainly a departure from the hard rockers’ heavy fare they’re famous for.

Still, for our money, the best track on the record is the Southern-fried rock and roll number “Oh Well.”

We’ve been listening to it on repeat all day.

After over 50 years together — they formed in 1968 — the core of Deep Purple remains the same.

The long-running prog band is known for their hits like “Owner of A Lonely Heart,” “Roundabout,” “I’ve Seen All Good People” and many, many more.

Who can apply for Masters tickets?

Anyone can apply for tickets to the Masters on their official ticket portal , and if you’re lucky enough to get chosen, tickets range from $100 per practice round to $140 for a tournament round per person (with a limit of two tickets per lottery-winner) plus taxes.

Approximately 20,000 tickets are available and an estimated 2 million people apply every year for the chance to watch players like Jon Rahm, Dustin Johnson and Scottie Scheffler at Augusta National in Georgia. The odds aren’t great, about 200-to-1, but the alternative is much more expensive.

The difficulty of being rewarded with a day pass through the lottery system has even made some fans even try to find illegal ways of fixing the system.

How to get 2024 Masters tickets outside of the lottery

If the lottery doesn’t work in your favor, you can still try and get daily passes on the secondary market. Prices for a day pass for a tournament round can cost as much as $6,927 before fees on Vivid Seats. Single-day passes start at $1,484 before fees for tournament dates.
