Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay’s Cottage

As I already wrote, Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay lived here for quite some time. His cottage, Gourikunj, is now a heritage site. Just in case you are a fan of either him, Satyajit Ray, or both, this place is a must-visit.

People who visit Ghatshila don’t want to miss such a location, which used to be the birthplace of a few of his notable works. A few years ago, the state government of Jharkhand renovated the house and turned it into a tourist attraction. Just 2 km away from the heart of the town, this place also includes a monument dedicated to Bhibhuti Bhushan.

Ram Krishna Math

Founded in 1922, Ram Krishna Math in Ghatshila is an exceptional place to visit for any visitor. Just 2 km from Ghatshila, it is an educational hub where you can see what real discipline looks like. Take a guided tour to visit the auditorium, campus, buildings, temple, and library.

The hill of Phuldungri is also famous for something else. The book “Aranyak,” which was written by Bibhutibhushan Bandophadya, was based on this rock.

Since no food stands are nearby, you should bring snacks and a water bottle. You’ll be too tired to go up the hill if you don’t.

2. Burudih Dam

Burudih Dam is another beautiful place in Ghatshila that people visit all year. The Dam was built long ago when Britain was in charge.

As the stunning Dalma hill surrounds it, the whole area is lovely. Moreover, the Dalma wildlife refuge is just a short distance from the Dam.

Because the Dam is close to the wildlife refuge, wild elephants sometimes come close to it. In addition, as one of the area’s most beautiful places to visit, many people from West Bengal come here.

In October, if you go to the Burudih Dam, you can see the Binda Mela. This mela takes place for fifteen days on the shore of the lake.

As you travel around the fare, you can buy beautiful handicrafts made by the tribal people there. You can also purchase works in the Madhubani and Warli styles.

If you like trying new things, you can ride a banana boat or water surfing. The tourism department of Jharkhand worked hard to make Burudih Dam a famous place for tourists.

Sitting there for a while will give you a sense of peace. However, the whole area is far away. So it’s best not to go there at night.

To get there, you must take a car or an auto rickshaw from Ghatshila. You should ask someone in the area how to get there because the path through the bush is a little tricky.

4. Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay Cottage

Ghatshila was where the famous Bengali author Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay lived. So, stopping by his house will be a good idea if you are looking around town.

The “Apu” series was what made him most well-known. You will also see a plaque for the author.

A few years ago, the government of Jharkhand fixed up the house. In the 1950s, the author Bibhutibhushan died in the cottage.

Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay’s Cottage is a popular place for tourists to visit in Ghatshila. The first book in the trilogy was so popular that Satyajit Roy turned it into a movie.

When “Pather Pachali” came out, it also got an Oscar. So if you admire books and movies, you should visit such a famous author’s house.

Pancha Pandav is one of the most well-known sights to view in Ghatshila. This place is just 5 km from the center of Ghatshilacity.

Over there, you’ll see five men-shaped rocks formed by nature. Even though they were damaged, the stones resemble the Mahabharata’s five Pandav brothers.

The statues are exciting, and you will be amazed when you see them for the first time. They look like people made them.

But the truth is that they have been that way for a long time. The area around this spot is also stunning.

There is a train stop near Pancha Pandav. So you will see trains going through the paddy fields.

When the sun goes down, the scenery looks even more beautiful.

Since the spot is just a short distance from Ghatshila, you can walk there. Remember to bring your camera, because this place is gorgeous.

6. Dharagiri Waterfalls

In Ghatshila, Dharagiri Waterfall is a great place to go. You should stop by this place while you’re at Burudih Dam.

This waterfall is pretty close to the Dam. However, this fall is only 25 feet high.

If you go there during the rainy season, you will see the water flowing down with a lot of force.

Since this spot is only 9 km from Ghatshila, you can take an auto-rickshaw. There are some tea stands near the waterfall where you can try some of the best food in the area.

The cost to get into this fall’s grounds is INR 20. You can also bring a picnic lunch and enjoy a nice day there.

The city is located on the bank of the River Subarnarekha (the word ‘Subarnarekha’ means golden streak), and is situated in an undulating forested area. It has been a popular place frequented mostly by people from West Bengal, who have been going there for a change of place and climate. The noted Bengali writer Bibhuti Bhusan Bandyopadhyay of Pather Panchali fame was a resident of the city.

A small township with mixture of people from communities like Bengalis, Biharis, Gujratis, Marwadis, Punjabis and Muslims, all staying together in harmony participating in each other's festivals. Geographically placed between two mountain ranges with the Subarnarekha river separating them from kissing each other. Aerial view is beautiful from top of any mountain like the Surda pahar . You can find the rocky river flowing in between hilly & rocky terrain with patches of human habitants, painting an awesome landscape. On one side of your view, you can find smoking chimneys of the Hindustan Copper factory suggesting the industrialization that en marks this fast growing township. People stay in a variety of modern & old houses. By rail - It is a railway station on the Kharagpur-Tatanagar stretch of Howrah-Mumbai track, 215 km from Howrah are 2781/2782 Ispat Express, 8030/8029 Kurla/ Howrah Express, 2813/2814 Steel Express. It is well connected to 3 Metros in India namely Mumbai(by Bombay Express), Kolkata(many trains starting from 6AM by Steel Exp. to midnight at 1.15 by Samleshwari Exp) and New Delhi(by Neelachal & Utkal Exp).

There are many Local Passenger trains connecting Jamshedpur and Kharagpur with Ghatshila. For timings etc. check with Indian Railways .

By road – It is about 240 km from Kolkata . Those travelling from Kolkata first have to take NH 6 to Bahragora and then take the road to Jamshedpur. Buses plying between Kharagpur and Jamshedpur pass through Ghatshila. Buses going from Kolkata to Jamshedpur and Ranchi also pass through Ghatshila.By road Jamshedpur is 42 km away.

A hired car charges ₹800-₹1,000 to take tourists around the places of interest. Apart from these auto rickshaws are available for movement locally. Utensils, sweet meats, ornaments etc. are sold by petty shopkeepers. It is a very popular, particularly for the Santhals.

At each pockets of the township, a public tube well or Chaapaakal can be found where you can taste fresh water. The water is said to have medicinal values. A glass of water is enough to fill-up your empty stomach.

Should try sweet Kalakand out there which is vary famous. Most famous and oldest Kalakand seller is Ganesh Kalakand.

Burudih Dam Ghatshila: A Guide to Ghatshila’s Stunning Waterfront: With the onset of cold weather, tourists started coming to see the picturesque plains of Ghatshila.

Ghatshila is recognized as a tourist destination. Apart from Jharkhand, tourists also reach here from West Bengal, Orissa, and Bihar. Ghatshila’s Dharagiri, Burudih Dam, Subarnarekha river, and ancient Rankini temple are famous tourist places. Thousands of tourists reach here every year.

Burudih Dam of Ghatshila is the best place for tourism. Surrounded by dense hills all around, Burudih Dam remains the center of attraction for tourists. Tourists from other states reach Burudih to enjoy boating. Tourists are enjoying the picturesque valleys here.

Last year, paddleboats were brought for boating in Burudih Dam at a cost of lakhs. But so far these boats have not landed in the dam. Tourists are not able to enjoy boating in Burudih due to not being able to form a committee for boat operations.

However, the administrative officials are also not paying any attention to this. So far no concrete steps have been taken in this direction from the office of the Sub-Divisional Officer.

At the same time, the tourism department of the Jharkhand government has not yet caught sight of such a picturesque place of tourism. The way this tourist destination should have been developed has not happened yet.

Lakhs of rupees have been sanctioned for the development of Burudih. Work on this is also going on, but the intensity with which it should be done is not being done.

To reach Burudih Dam, one can consider the following modes of transportation:

By road: The dam is accessible by road from major cities and towns in the surrounding areas. Tourists can drive or take a bus to reach the dam.
By railway: Ghatshila railway station is the nearest railway station to Dam and is well-connected to major cities in India. From the railway station, one can take a taxi or local transportation to reach the dam.
By air: The nearest airport to Dam is Ranchi airport, which is well-connected to major cities in India. From the airport, one can take a taxi or local transportation to reach the dam.

Ghatshila Travelogue: Best Weekend Destination Near Kolkata

When I start writing Ghatshila travelogue, I am getting nostalgic.

My alltime favourite movie is Pather Panchali, one of the masterpieces of all time in Indian cinema.

Do you know the director and writer combination?

The director is the legend Satyajit Ray who got Honorary Award (lifetime achievement) and the author is the great Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay.

As I grown up reading books, among many authors, the great Bibutibhushan Bandyopadhyay is the first one whom I admired the most since then.

“Human lifespan is a false measure of human life. He enjoyed ten years of life in a year and a half.” – (The Mountain of the Moon) Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay.

I blown away by his famous characters Shankar, Dieogo Alverage, Attelio Gatti (Chander Pahar), Satyacharan (Aranyak) and many.

The list is huge. Every bookworms definitely familiar with the great Bibhutibhushan’s creativity.

So, when I come to know that a travel agency is planning to explore Ghatshila, I immediately booked my seat.

My Ghatshila Travelogue Started by Bus

I am a wanderlust so I want to explore various places. I have explored beautiful offbeat Darjeeling few days ago.

It was the 10th of February, saturday. I started my journey to Ghatshila by bus.

It was a 1 day trip. The trip is organized by a local travel agency. As per their tour itinerary, they would provide breakfast, lunch and dinner on 11th.

So I had my dinner at home with my family. At about 10 pm, I started my journey. The seats are very narrow to sit comfortably.

The main problem was the leg space, though I am not a tall guy.

Whatever, the bust started at about 10:15 pm.

The bus was very average. There is less space. In a word, the bus journey was not comfortable.

However, after 8 hours (approx) of bus journey, I reached Ghatshila, a popular tourist destination.

We had pre-booking at Adhikari lodge which was 5 minutes away from the main road.

After reaching the lodge, I took a little rest.

I had finished my breakfast at about 9 and then went out for sightseeing.

As the trip is organised by a travel agency, they arranged a shared cab for sightseeing.

For sightseeing, the cab rent was 250/head.

In the first half (before lunch) our destinations were Dharagiri, Burudi and Fuldungri hills (tilla).

The temperature was getting higher. At about 30 minutes from our lodge, I reached Dharagiri.

Dharagiri: Heartthrob of Ghatshila

Ghatshila travelogue is incomplete without Dharagiri. The natural beauty is the prime attraction here.

From the car parking to Dharagiri hills the distance is around 30 minutes. The road to reach Dharagiri is stony.

After around 20 minutes of trekking, I reached Dharagiri top.

Due to winter, the waterfall was very thin.

If you want to explore the beauty of the waterfall, visit Dharagiri in monsoon.

After experiencing the beauty of Dharagiri hills along with little waterfalls, I felt nostalgic again.

Because the great Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay wrote many immortal literary pieces here.

The atmosphere was awesome, the shadowy trekking route and the semi-dense forest of Sal, Segun, Mahua and other unknown trees made my trekking experience beautiful.

The scenic beauty and the plateau is the prime attraction of Dharagiri.

Let’s share some information about Dharagiri.

Dharagiri is a plateau. So the road is uneven. Even the trekking route is stony and slippery. If you have any problem with your feet, be careful.

Burudi: Scenic Beauty

Burudi was our next destination. Burudi is a dam. Burudi is located in east Singhbhum district of Jharkhand.

It was around 12.30 pm. The atmosphere was hot. I reached the beautiful Burudi.

You can experience the beauty of boating at Burudi lake. For that, you have to pay INR 100 per person.

I enjoyed the reflection of hills into the Burudi dam. I stayed there for about 30 minutes

I suggest you to visit that place in the afternoon.

Sunset at Burudi Dam is splendid, though I could not experience that.

Let’s share some information about Burudi.

Ideally, Burudi is best for evening and morning.

Anyone can enjoy boating there. Life jacket is available. You can enjoy watching fishing at lake in a different style.

Fuldungri Tilla: Nostalgia with Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay

I read that the great Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay wrote Aranyak, Chander Pahar and many other famous literary pieces there.

The stony Fuldungri tilla is one of the most famous places among the tourists. I spent around 40 minutes enjoying the hilltop beauty.

The height is not so high. So anyone can easily reach the top.

The Fuldungri tilla is a perfect example of a plateau. You can find a rounded and plain hilltop there.

From Fuldungri tilla, you can witness the Ghatshila beauty in 360 degree.

Let’s share some information that may help you while you plan to explore Ghatshila.

You can reach there anytime, but winter is ideal according to me.

You can easily reach from Ghatshila station. All the places are very close to stations. So you can return on the same day just exploring Fuldungri tilla.

River Subarnarekha: The Beauty of Bengal

In my Ghatshila travelogue, river Subarnerekha is one of the most attractive places to me.

According to local people, the gold is found in the sand of this beautiful river. Many women adn men collect gold particles from the sand of the same river.

The crystal clear water enables the beauty of underwater. You can spend a couple of hours enjoying the beauty of this river.

Evening and morning (mainly dusk and dawn) are most beautiful time to stay here. You can see local people fishing here. Sometime you find yourself lonely here in this beautiful river.

The river Subarnarekha started started its journey fron Piska or Nagri near Ranchi, one of the most beautiful tourist destinations and it flows around 2000 kms to Bay of Bengal.

Rat Mohana: The Place of Pather Panchali

Have you seen Pather Panchali, one of the alltime great movies in Indian Cinema? According to a myth, the great author Bibhutibhushan has written Pather Panchali here at Rat Mohana.

You’ll be amazed when you watch the great Pather Panchali and can feel how this great novel was written!

Not only this, but also the beautiful waterfall is another attraction to people. The small hill and a waterfall is the main attraction. In monsoon, the waterfall becomes more attractive. People enjoy the melody of the waterfall then.

Though as I went in winter (though the temperature was around 39 degree cencious), I didnot enjoy the monsoon beauty.

The water of Rat Mohana mixes to the river Subarnarekha. In a word this beautiful place is ideal to spend a couple of hours here.

Gourikunja: The House of Bibhutibhushan

Gourikunja is now a museum and it opens from 9 am to 1 pm in the morning and from 3 pm to 5.30 pm in the afternoon.

Gourikunja is named after Bibhutibhushan’s late wife Gouridevi who passed away just after one year of marriage.

Bibhutibhushan lived here for long. If you visit Ghatshila, you must visit this beautiful place once.

Here a little museum shows some of great Bibhutibhushan’s used things, his valuable manuscripts, many images and more.

You can see some valuable incidents painted on the walls of the house. In a word this place is very attractive to those who love Bengali Literature. Being a huge fan of Bibhutibhushan, I feel nostalgic remmebering some beautiful incidents of “Pather Panchali”, “Chander Pahar”, “Aparajito” and more.

Ramkrishna Math and Rumkini Devi Temple

Ramkrishna Math is one of the most devine places and a attraction of Ghatshila. Spending a couple of hours here in this pious place is really attractive.

The whole ambiance and the atmosphere is really impressive. You can stay here and for that you need to book earlier.

Not only Ramkrishna Mandir, and Monk Quarters, but also a beautiful garden and a medical center is attraction of this place.

If you want to explore the beauty of Ramkrishna Math, you must visit Belur Math once.

After Ramkrishna Math, we went to Rumkini Devi Temple. Though it is not the old temple. If you want to explore the old Rumkini Devi Temple, you may visit Jadugora.

The temple is nice and you can spend a couple of hours here.

Chitrakut Hill: 360 View from Hiltop

The last destination of our destination is the Chitrakut Hill. Like other hills in Ghatshila, this is the same.

At the hilltop you can find beautiful temple. I witnessed the beautiful Ghatshila from the hilltop.

It was dusk, and the surrounding was getting dark. I enjoyed the beautiful sunset from the hilltop.

In a word, my Ghatshila travelogue will be in my heart forever.

My Final Thought

Ghatshila is an ideal destination for weekend tourism. You can plan a 2 day trip to Ghatshila anytime. Though due to a plateau and located in Jharkhand, the ideal time to visit is winter and monsoon. You can explore all popular Ghatshila places by hiring an auto rickshaw or cab from the Ghatshila station. Here in my Ghatshila travelogue part 1, I shared my little experience.

Ghatshila, Jharkhand

Ghatshila literally means "rocky landing of a river" (here Ghat means River wharf or quay and Shila means Rocky land ), is a small city on the bank of the Subarnarekha River, which located within forests area in East Singhbhum district of the Jharkhand, India. Ghatshila is famous for its refreshing natural beauty and considered as a prominent tourist destination in Jharkhand. Especially for the people of West Bengal, Ghatshila renowned as a health resort and large numbers of Bengali tourists going there for the change of weather. Ghatshila is also famous for the great Bengali novelist Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay, one of his master-piece work is “Pather Panchali” . Now a day JTDC (Jharkhand Tourism Development Corporation) takes initiatives to promote state tourism all over the country and abroad.

It also serves as the block headquarters of Ghatsila Block which was established on 4th May 1962. From the establishment of the town, it has a cosmopolitan culture and several different communities and groups like Bihari, Bengali, Gujarati, Marwari, Punjabi and others reside here together with a secular harmony. According to the census report 2011, the city has a population of 40,624.

In the middle era of Indian history, Ghatshila was ruled by Bengali communities. Later on, they were uprooted by Dhalbhum Dynasty and established their capital at Ghatshila. The oldest son of the ruling king takes the title of Yuvraj. Dhalbhum Raja Jagannath constructed the "Rankini Mandir" at Galudih, but it was shifted at Ghatshila after some years including all the associates. The Rajas of Dhalbhum were able to continue their control over this region till the colonial British rule.

Places to visit in Ghatshila

Small hills cover with evergreen forests, twisting river Subarnarekha flows beside, the lake, the small springs and waterfalls and forests surrounded all around, together it is the Ghatshila, which gives a refreshment for a tired body and feeling.

The aerial view of Ghatshila from nearby hill-top looks like an artist draws a canvas of beautiful landscape with his own imagine. Where, a mighty and meandering river Subarnarekha flows beside the city and separate two loving mountain ranges to kissing each other. If you are a nature-lover and want to spend some time on the lap of mother-nature along with the city environment, then Ghatshila is the best choice in the east India to feel you pleased and gives you refresh at all.

Apart from the Ghatshila town, some most popular tourist spots located in and around the city, which are also popular for sightseeing and some have historical importance.

Phuldungri Hill is a small hillock located about 2 km away from Ghatshila on the National High Way No 33. There is a spiral pathway through which one can drive up to the top of the hill. The hillock is heavily covered with lots of tall Sal trees and its pathway covered with red pebbles which attract lots of tourists. A magnificent aerial view of Ghatshila city from the top of Phuldungri Hills is unforgettable. It also serves as a sunset and sunrise view point. If you are an adventurer, then a short trekking through the dense sal forest gives you an out-of-the-world experience.

Rankini Kali Temple of Ghatsila was constructed to worship to Kalimata, which is known as "Rankini Mata" . According to past stories Narabali was done in the temple of Ghatsila. Rankini Devi is very popular among the local people and they believe the power and influence of the deity Maa Rankini. You can also trip to Jadugora hills which located just opposite to this temple.

Burudih Dam placed just 6 km North from Ghatshila. It was built in the British rule. You can play here with the speed or paddle boats. Binda Mela is held every year in the month of October at Ghatshila on the bank of the lake for fifteen days. It is a very popular, particularly for the Santhals tribes.

Dharagiri Waterfall is located about 9 km North from Ghatshila. It falls 21 ft down from Dharagiri Hill. You will found here a prehistoric stone curving on the falls riverside and a Kali temple. This region is a forestry hilly type and perfect for picnicking.

Ratmohona is a popular tourist attraction close to Ghatshila on the bank of Subarnarekha. It is famous for witnessing the sunrise and sunset. On the way of this spot you have to cross Galudih barrage.

Pancha Pandav is a small hill situated about 5 km north-east to the Ghatshila. It is famous for the natural sculpture on a stone, which shaved as heads of five men due to the erosion of the stone. And people believed it as the natural creation of five brothers of Pandava, all those are the heroic characters of Hindu mythological epic the Mahabharata.

Some other popular tourist attractions in and around Ghatshila are the Naroa Forest, Bibhuti Memorial Bhavan, Hindustan Copper Limited, Purna Pani, Mosaboni Mines, Jadugora, Surda Pahar, Moubhandar, Tumandungri, The River Subarnarekha, Kerukocha, Baba Bhairob etc. Ghatshila is also famous as picnic spots to local visitors of Jharkhand.

How to reach Ghatshila?

Travel by Railways Ghatshila railway station is on the Howrah-Mumbai railway line, and 32 trains run from Howrah to Ghatshila every days. All the express and passenger trains stop here. Three major cities of India namely Mumbai, Kolkata (Howrah) and Delhi are regularly connected with several express trains to this station like Bombay Express (from Mumbai); Steel Exp, Samleshwari Exp (from Kolkata) and Neelachal, Purushottam Exp & Utkal Exp (from Delhi). You can also reach Ghatshila by lots of regular passenger trains from Jamshedpur and Kharagpur of West Bengal. Tatanagar is a well-known city in Jharkhand, located 36 km away. There have 19 trains every days from Ghatshila to Tata.

Travel by Roadways Major cities from where tourists mainly come to visit Ghatshila are Kolkata (268 km), Ranchi (156 km), Jamshedpur (47 km), Kharagpur, Bhubaneswar, etc. if you are a tourist from Kolkata then first you have to take a journey through NH-6 to Baharagora to Jamshedpur and then finally to Ghatshila. Regular buses are connected between Kharagpur to Jamshedpur and Bhubaneswar & Kolkata to Jamshedpur & Ranchi also pass via Ghatshila.

Travel by Airways If you plan to visit Ghatshila by airways then the airport of Ranchi (IXR) will be suitable for you and it is located about 156 km away from the city. After reaching Ranchi airport you have to journey by roadways or railways. It takes around 3 hours to reach Ghatshila from Ranchi airport. But, there have no regular flights from other major cities of India. So, check the availabilities before make a tour plan. Netaji Subhas Chandra Airport (CCU) or Dumdum airport, Kolkata, West Bengal is another nearby airport to Ghatshila, situated around 194 km away from Ghatshila. It is an international airport and have regular flights from all over India and abroad.

The Rankini Mandir is a local ‘Goddess Kali’ temple worshipped and revered by the people and devotees from the nearby areas. The property has huge lush green spaces where you can take a walk, have a meditation session, or spend some time in nature with one of your favorite books. From the yards of our cottages, you can even watch the sunset or sunrise over the Phuldungri hilltop. Also, we have facilities for an open bonfire, where you can chitchat and spend some quality time while watching your food getting roasted in the wood-lit fire. The river is nearby too. Take a walk to the riverside, sit on the banks, and indulge in fishing. You will love every moment of your time there.

Rankini kali temple:.

Are you a fan of historical temples & structures? If the answer is yes, then the Ghatshila Rankini Kali Temple can be a great choice for you. It is a temple dedicated to Goddess Kali, the warrior avatar of the Primordial Mother Goddess of Hinduism. The place has carvings of Hindu deities painted on the walls of the temple.

Phuldungri Hills:

This is another tourist attraction near Ghatshila. It is a hill spot covered with dense forest where incomparable scenic beauty complements the spot. This place is yet to be hounded by the usual raucous crowd, which has helped to preserve its natural state.

Burudih lake:

This entity sits next to the Burudih Dam. It was developed by the British. It is now a popular attraction for tourists. If you are interested in watersports, you can have a good time here. Also, you can enjoy the motorboating and pedal boating facilities, and soon one can take part in water surfing and banana rides here too.

Dharagiri waterfall:

If you are a nature lover, do visit the Dharagiri waterfall. It is a pristine natural heaven. Its scenic beauty will easily take your breath away. The best time to visit here is during the early morning hours.

How to Reach Ghatshila :

Rail: The nearest major rail station is Kharagpur. From there, the property is around 118 km away and it takes around 2 hours by car to reach. The Ghatsila railway station is also nearby, but very few trains stop there. From there, it is only 3 km away and takes about 5 minutes to reach by car.

Air: The nearest airport is Birsa Munda Airport at Ranchi, 171 km away, and it takes a car around 5 hours to reach this place from that airport.

Road: From Kolkata, the property is approximately 245 km away and takes around 6 hours, if one takes the highways of NH16 or NH49.

Best Time To Visit Ghatshila:

The Winter season is a great time to visit Ghatsila, or the early spring. Please do come here between late October to March, and you will love the weather. The scenic beauty of the hills here lined by floral trees in bloom will enchant you. At that time, you can go sightseeing easily. The summer is a bit harsher here.

Worst experience. Room charges are on much higher side compared with the charges. Rooms are small, bathroom too small, service is almost not present. Behaviour of reception persons and the owner is unpleasant. Charged extra 1.5% for credit cards otherwise asked to pay in cash. As I do not carry cash they asked to withdraw from ATM which is 5 km away and provide no assistance to reach there. No blanket was provided and rooms are full of mosquito, red ants and insects. Adviced take a second thought before booking the property. Only good thing is location.
