Event Details
This event has been cancelled, you will be contacted by your point of purchase.
We are sorry to inform you that the upcoming production Magic Mike – The Arena Tour will not be able to take place at first direct arena as scheduled.
A sharp increase in costs has had a significant impact on the viability of delivering Magic Mike to the high standards desired. The Magic Mike creative team are committed to only delivering a show that meets or exceed the standard of their live show in London and the current conditions simply do not allow for that possibility.
The difficult decision has therefore been made to delay the upcoming production and revisit plans at a future date. Everyone involved is very disappointed and apologises to customers for any inconvenience caused.
You will receive a full refund from your original point of purchase. (If you booked your ticket via our website this will be Ticketmaster.)
We hope that you will continue to experience the Magic Mike phenomenon with the upcoming film Magic Mike’s Last Dance which is released in cinemas next month, and of course the ongoing production Magic Mike Live at The Hippodrome Theatre in London which continues to thrill audiences nightly.

Magic Mike show at P&J Live cancelled due to ‘sharp’ increase in production costs
The much-anticipated live dance show Magic Mike, which was expected to thrill audiences at P&J Live in April, has been cancelled.
Organisers have made the “hard” decision to postpone the Aberdeen date for Magic Mike: The Arena Tour due to a “sharp” increase in production cost.
The dance show, often dubbed as the “ultimate girls’ night out”, was scheduled to take over the stage at P&J Live on April 20.
Based on the two successful films starring Channing Tatum, it has attracted thousands of fans all over the world – including West End, Berlin and Las Vegas.
It brings “unparalleled entertainment” for guests aged 18 and over, with artists from around the world performing a sultry dance and acrobatic spectacular.
However, organisers have now announced the show will no longer go ahead as they will not be able to deliver the production to the “high standards expected”.
‘Everyone involved is very disappointed’
This is the third time Magic Mike: The Arena Tour has been cancelled in the last three years, with the live show initially scheduled to take place in 2020, and then last May .
Fans who had already purchased a ticket for the upcoming event received a letter this evening, informing them of the cancellation.
The team behind the show said this has been a “very disappointing” decision to make and reassured customers all tickets will be refunded.
They wrote: “As a result of the sharp increase in costs which have a significant impact on the viability of tours of this scale, the team is unable to deliver the show to the high standards expected.
“The Magic Mike creative team is committed to only delivering a show that meets or exceed the standard of their live show in London and the current conditions simply do not allow for that possibility.
“The difficult decision has therefore been made to delay the upcoming production and revisit plans at a future date.
“Everyone involved is very disappointed and apologises to customers for any inconvenience caused. Thank you for your understanding.”

CHANNING TATUM’S MAGIC MIKE LAUNCHES SPECTACULAR NEW ARENA TOUR
Magic Mike the Arena Tour will be arriving in Aberdeen at P&J Live on Thursday 12th May 2022 . With more dancers, bigger numbers and more spectacle than ever before, this will be the first time a live performance of Magic Mike has ever been staged outside of an intimate, cabaret-style space.
The Arena Tour will open in Belfast on 6 May, followed by Glasgow, Aberdeen, Leeds, Sheffield, Newcastle, Nottingham, Birmingham, Manchester and finishing in Liverpool.
Louise Stewart, P&J Live’s head of Entertainment said: “We are thrilled to be bringing something different to P&J Live next year and we are sure that this will hit the mark with Magic Mike fans in the North East, it’s guaranteed to be a night out that won’t be forgotten!”
Following two hugely successful films starring Channing Tatum and the hit live show at the Theatre at the Hippodrome Casino in London, the show’s producers and creative team felt it was time to develop a new Magic Mike production to bring to people in other parts of the UK to celebrate the rebirth of live entertainment.
Magic Mike Live Co-Director Alison Faulk said, “This is not Magic Mike Live with more seats. Our arena tour is something totally different. After a year of isolation and frustration, we want to give women something that makes them feel alive again… a sort of celebratory revival that makes them want to stand on their chairs, dance with their friends and feel connected to each other. The show is a once-in-a-lifetime celebration of togetherness, sexuality and freedom that only an arena can hold. We want our guys to give our fans the best night of their lives with a party they’ll never forget.”
Conceived by Channing Tatum and co-directed by Channing Tatum and Alison Faulk, Magic Mike Live which has already wowed over 200,000 people in London alone and almost 750,000 worldwide, is a large-scale, live production show based on the hit films Magic Mike and Magic Mike XXL, which opened at The Theatre at the Hippodrome Casino in London’s Leicester Square in November 2018.
Magic Mike the Arena Tour is a new project that builds on the dance, spectacle and fun of the much-loved films and London show. It will be a complete evening of unparalleled entertainment for guests aged 18 and up. A group of extraordinary artists from around the world will perform a sultry dance and acrobatic spectacular on an incredible scale. Sexy dance routines intertwined with one-of-a-kind acts, will be presented by a diverse cast of performers from around the world.
The Arena Tour will feature an elaborate series of stages and runways spanning the length of the arena floor, punctuated by massive screens, incredible visual effects, a live DJ, and of course some of the hottest, most talented male dancers in the world. It’s a celebration of fun and freedom that will blow the roof off the arena.
Magic Mike The Arena Tour will be directed by Magic Mike Live co-director Alison Faulk, with choreography by Alison Faulk and co-direction and choreography by Teresa Espinosa and Luke Broadlick. The scenic design is by Rob Bissinger and Anita LaScala (Arda Studio), with costume design by Marina Toybina, lighting design by Philip Gladwell and video design by Luke Halls. The musical supervisor and composer is Jack Rayner, with sound design by Nick Kourtides. Dreya Weber is the aerial choreographer & aerial apparatus designer. Vincent Marini is Executive Producing.
Magic Mike Live has become an international sensation since opening in Las Vegas in April 2017. In addition to breaking box office records and performing to sold-out audiences in Las Vegas and London, the show premiered in Berlin in 2020 and the Australia national tour opened in Sydney in December 2020.
Magic Mike the Arena Tour is produced by Channing Tatum, Steven Soderbergh, Reid Carolin, Greg Jacobs, Peter Kiernan and Nick Wechsler in association with Vincent Marini and presented by David Ian Productions and Phil McIntyre Entertainments.

The Co-op Live finally opens its doors in April 2024 and it already has a huge list of shows planned for this year and all the way into 2025.
Manchester’s newest arena, entertainment venue and arts space, which is the largest indoor arena in the UK, is set to host some huge musicians over the next year or so.
No surprise considering Harry Styles is an investor .
The massive venue officially opens on 23 April, with Greater Manchester legend Peter Kay lined up for the first performance.
Then it will be the Black Keys who take the honour of being the first music act on stage – and this venue has been built with music in mind.
Take That have also signed up for a frankly ridiculous SEVEN shows – but there’s sure to be plenty more revealed in the coming months.
Here’s the full list of artists confirmed for Co-op Live thus far.
What’s on at Co-op Live – gigs, comedy shows and other events
In chronological order, here all the Co-op Live gigs on the schedule over the next two years:

The Black Keys – 27 April, 2024
This rock duo are behind massive hits like Lonely Boy and Gold On The Ceiling, and are stopping off at the Co-op Live for a very special gig. You can get tickets here .

Olivia Rodrigo — 3-4 May, 2024
Olivia will be hitting up Manchester during her GUTS World Tour. It’s in support of her second album of the same name, which was released back in September. The last time she was in Manchester, fans were shocked to see her casually singing and having a drink in Bunny Jackson’s after the show. Let’s see where she ends up post-gig this time in May.
Keane – 5 May, 2024
They’re back and they’re celebrating 20 years since their landmark debut album Hopes and Fears . They’ll be playing songs from throughout their career, performing the best of the best and to make things even better, they’ll also have support from Manchester’s own, The Lathums .

Take That — 7, 8, 10, 11, 12 May AND 11-12 June (wow…)
They announced a new tour alongside the announcement of their ninth studio album, This Life . We obviously thought these big hitters would be doing a couple of shows here but no one expected their return to involve them ramming seven massive Manchester Co-op Live shows down our throats — not that we’re complaining.

In case you weren’t aware, they’ve been back making music together since 2019 and in May released their sixth studio album, but we’re looking forward to them playing all the hits, of course. Can you believe we’re already into our last full week of April, and May is right around the corner?
So far, April has been full of foodie festivals, cultural celebrations, wholesome spring-themed events, and so much more – and thankfully, there’s more where that came from as there’s loads more in the Greater Manchester social calendar for everyone of all ages to be getting involved with throughout this week too.
If you’re finding it a bit tricky to pick what to do, we’ve chosen a few of the best bits for another edition of our ‘ what’s on ‘ guide.
Here’s some of our recommendations.
Bloomtown Blossom Trail
Manchester City Centre
Monday 22 April – onwards
Manchester never looks better than it does when all the blossom trees burst back to life, right? Well now there’s a walking trail through town that shows off the best bits.
From the iconic purple blooms outside the Central Library, to the surprising sprays that pop up in the middle of Ancoats, there are pretty colours appearing all over, so the National Trust is once again shining a spotlight on Manchester and bringing back its new-and-improved Bloomtown Map.

More than 100 contributors are featured in the project, including musicians Noel Gallagher and Johnny Marr, athletes Diane Modahl and Ricky Hatton, local politicians Andy Burnham, Angela Rayner, and Bev Craig, actors Maxine Peake and Bill Roache, artists Stan Chow and AKSE P-19, and other local figures like Jonathan Warburton, Simon Martin, and Professor Erinma Bell MBE.

The independently-run Regenerage superstore is the newest resident at the massively-popular Middlebrook Retail Park in Bolton.
Inside the huge 10,958 sq ft store, shoppers can find everything from ladies and menswear, to homeware, furniture, and children’s clothing too, plus books, and new white goods – including washing machines, fridge freezers, and more.
There’s also a specially-created bridal and occasional wear department too.
And if all of that didn’t sound brilliant enough as it is, there’s even the chance to get your hands on designer brands like Vivienne Westwood, Ralph Lauren, and Armani, all without the hefty price tag.
Science and Industry Museum

And the best bit about it? It’s absolutely FREE to head on down to.

Kicking off from 11am and running right through until 4pm, this year’s dog-themed festivities include a selection of different stalls to shop from, dog agility courses, puppy play areas, hands-on pet first aid courses, and so much more.
Looking for somewhere to go for a hearty roast dinner in and around Greater Manchester this weekend?
From the moment we start to feel the weekend rolling in, we can’t help but turn our thoughts to Sunday roasts, steaming jugs of gravy, and big glasses sploshing over with red wine.
It’s just the best feeling, and there’s plenty of it to be found here in our region.

We’re used to it being wet and miserable most of the year, and while we do love Sunday lunch on a sun-soaked afternoon in the beer garden when we get the chance, nothing warms the cockles more on those darker days than a giant plate piled high with roasted meats, vegetables, and gravy.
