Disney once again honors US Military service members and their families with its 2024 Armed Forces Salute offer. With strict rules, navigating the ins and outs of this special Disney military discount can be difficult. But I’ve got all the answers!

Disney Armed Forces Salute tickets can be purchased at Shades of Green Resort.

All Your Questions Answered About the Disney Armed Forces Salute

We’ve been blessed to have the opportunity to take advantage of the various Disney military discounts since 2009. Since then, the discount has transformed and changed with each passing year. It can be overwhelming to stay up on every rule, but I have made it my business to stay up to date. So, here’s everything you need to know about the 2024 Disney Armed Forces Salute.

What is the Disney’s Armed Forces Salute?

The simple answer is it’s a military discount for US Disney Parks.

However, the long answer is that the Armed Forces Salute offer includes deeply discounted Disney tickets and rooms and other various discounts available to US military service members and their families.

Who is eligible for the discount?

The eligibility rules have morphed over time and are subject to change at any point. Currently, those eligible for the 2024 Armed Forces Salute are:

Find out what service members are eligible for the Disney Armed Forces Salute.

  • Active Duty Service Members
  • National Guard
  • Coast Guard

  • Commissioned Corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)
  • Retirees of the military services mentioned above
  • 100% Service Connected Disabled

How much are the Disney World military tickets?

2024 disney world ticket prices (jan. 1 – dec. 20, 2024):.

  • 4-Day Park Hopper Tickets – $369.00 (plus tax)
  • 4-Day Park Hopper Plus Tickets – $399.00 (plus tax)

Blackout Dates:

March 24, 2024 – April 6, 2024 November 24, 2024 – November 30, 2024

The park hopper tickets allow ticket holders to hop from park to park and adding the “plus option” gives each ticket holder a set amount of entries to the minor attractions including the water parks and mini-golf.

Park Reservations

All guests ages 3 and up MUST have a park reservation along with a valid admission ticket before entry. Theme park reservations can be made via the Disney Parks Pass System . Currently, you can make theme park reservations through January 18th, 2025. You can also check park reservation availability using the park reservation availability calendar.

If you are not staying at a Disney World Resort Hotel, check the availability for “theme park guests” for accurate availability.

What are the Disney World room military discounts?

  • Up to 30% for Value Resorts
  • Up to 35% for Moderate Resorts including Fort Wilderness Cabins
  • Up to 40% for Deluxe Resorts

There are some room types that are excluded including 3-bedroom villas, suites in Moderate and Deluxe Resort hotels, campsites, Cabins at Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, The Little Mermaid Standard Rooms at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and Bungalows at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows.

The Armed Forces Salute room discount also excludes The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Disney’s Riviera Resort.

Room discounts are limited and can be booked through December 20, 2024.

The Disney Armed Forces Salute can save military families up to 40% on deluxe resorts.

How can I book the military discounted rooms?

You can book the Armed Forces Salute rooms by calling Disney directly or through a travel agent. This discount can NOT be booked online!

Where can the discounted tickets be purchased?

Tickets can be purchased in person at most base ticket offices, Shades of Green Resort or at Disney World ticket gates. When purchasing from your local base I suggest contacting them to see if they have them in stock or if they have to order them, so you can plan in ad vance.

You can purchase Disney World tickets over the phone from Shades of Green Resort by calling (407) 824-1403 8 am – 7 pm ET. There is a small shipping fee to mail the tickets to your home.

Tickets purchased at Shades of Green Resort are already activated.

Do I need to activate the military discount tickets?

Yes, the Armed Forces Salute tickets need to be activated at Disney World Guest Relations or a ticket booth at the parks before they can be used for entry.

Geeky Tip: Tickets purchased directly from Shades of Green Resort are already activated and ready to use.

Who can activate the Salute tickets?

The service member or spouse must activate the military tickets at the Disney World ticket gates with a valid military ID. When activating tickets all guests must be present with the service member or spouse.

Can I upgrade the Armed Forces Salute tickets?

Yes and no. There are a couple of ways the discounted military Disney tickets CAN be upgraded and one way they can NOT be upgraded.

Disney military tickets with just the park hopper option can be upgraded to include the “plus option” (water parks, mini-golf) at a guest relations window where you’d just pay the difference between the two types of tickets.

The Disney Armed Forces Salute tickets are also eligible to be upgraded to a Disney annual pass. You will be required to pay the difference between what you paid for the discounted military ticket and the current gate price of the annual pass.

When upgrading tickets purchased through Shades of Green, it is beneficial to also upgrade them there, since you do not pay tax.

So, how can they NOT be upgraded? Armed Forces Salute tickets are available in 4-day, 5-day or 6-day tickets and if you purchase the 4-day ticket you can upgrade to the 5-day or 6-day, but you can NOT add any more days beyond those 6 days.

How many military discounted tickets can I buy?

When using the Armed Forces Salute ticket deal, service members are only able to purchase up to 6 tickets. And one of those tickets MUST BE for the service member. Spouses are able to purchase tickets in place of the service member, but not in addition to.

Do I have to use the tickets on consecutive days?

No! This is one of my favorite bonuses to the Armed Forces Salute tickets. The tickets can be used any day(s) during the offer period they were purchased in.

Example: you can use 2 days of a 5-day salute ticket in March and use the last 3 days in November.

Navigating the ins and outs of Disney's Armed Forces Salute military discount can be challenging. Including discounted tickets and rooms that can save military families thousands! Here are 15 answers to some of the most frequently asked questions. #DisneyArmedForcesSalute #DisneyWorld #Disneymilitarydiscount #militaryfamilies

Can I link my Salute tickets to My Disney Experience?

Yes, you can! If you purchase your tickets through your local military base, you will receive a voucher and that number can be linked to your My Disney Experience (MDE). No changes will need to be made when you turn in the voucher to activate and receive your tickets.

When getting your tickets through Shades of Green or directly from Disney, you can add your ticket number to MDE like you would any other ticket.

Can I link my Salute tickets to a Magic Band?

Once you link your tickets in My Disney Experience they will automatically be linked to any active Magic Band. Disney discontinued free Magic Bands as of 2021, but they are still available for purchase.

Can I use Genie+ with the Armed Forces Salute tickets?

Yes, once they are linked in your My Disney Experience.

If you are staying on Disney property, at Shades of Green or other select Disney Springs area hotels, you can purchase Genie+ starting at 12:01am on the day you wish to use it through your My Disney Experience app.

Staying off property, you will be able to purchase Genie+ starting at 7am.

Is the Disney Armed Force Salute the best deal?

Without a doubt, the Armed Forces Salute ticket offer is hands down the best ticket discount available with savings over $200 on regular ticket prices.

The hotel discount is usually the better deal when combined with the ticket savings. But off-property rooms or rental homes can be cheaper depending on how many guests and travel dates.

Can you use both the armed forces salute rocket discount and room discount? Or can you only use one? I plan to also add in the dining plan (knowing there’s no discount on that) but just wondered if you can use both discounts or had to pick just one. Thanks!!

My husband just retired last year and we have a 20 year old daughter that is planning a friends trip (no parents) she has an active military ID can we buy her a military ticket at shades of green and have it mailed to our home will she be able to use it without us being there with her? We wanted to pay for it for her early Christmas gift.

October 31, 2019 at 6:59 am

The tickets from Shades of Green are shipped to you already activated, so she should be able to use it without one of you being there. I’ve bought tickets for my niece and in-laws multiple times and neither has had a problem using the tickets without me or my husband being there. But we are local, so if they did run into a problem we were close by to run up there.

Unfortunately, some have reported that they were asked for verification each time they entered the parks. So to be safe, I would double-check with Shades of Green when purchasing the tickets, make sure her dependant ID is valid and that she has it with her and that one of you are available by phone if she needs you.

Hope this helps!

With the Military Promotional Salute Park Hopper tickets, there should be no tax, if purchased at the Shades of Green ticket office. You state $241 (plus tax) for 4-Day Park Hopper Tickets, but you’re saying “plus tax, when purchased AT Walt Disney World, correct? Just so people know! Thanks so much for all the great info!

Yes, if purchasing at Shades of Green or at a base ticket office – there isn’t any tax on tickets.

We are traveling to WDW for a quick 4 days/5 nights before a cruise and tbh are throwing this all together quickly, i live in NC. We leave in a month on June 29th and because If I cannot purchase our Armed Forces tickets before hand over on Camp Lejeune and have to purchase them at SOG on arrival then will I have to wait to to use the FP option? We are staying 2 nights at the Pop Century and 3 nights at the French Quarter. Sorry to sound stupid but thank you for this website and blog. I’ve been fighting breast cancer and finished treatment a few months ago and am so excited about our cruise and now unexpected WDW trip.

June 26, 2019 at 6:42 am

Hi Tiffany!

Unfortunately, you will not be able to schedule your fastpasses until the tickets are linked in your My Disney Experience app. But, you can order tickets from Shades of Green over the phone and they will ship them to you for a small fee. As soon as you receive them you can link the tickets and schedule fastpasses!

Hope that helps.

Any idea about how long activating the tickets takes? I may have not planned enough time for my mom and I between landing, getting to the park and getting dinner…

June 26, 2019 at 6:38 am

Hi Amanda! It depends on how busy Guest Relations is, but I’d plan at least 30 minutes. Most restaurants in the parks will hold your reservation for 10-20 minutes after your reservation time.

Have a Magical trip!

Can I upgrade a 1 day ticket to the Armed Forces Salute?

July 23, 2019 at 4:36 pm

As long as it’s a regular ticket and not a comped ticket, it should be able to be upgraded to the Armed Forces Salute ticket. The service member or spouse must be the ones to upgrade the ticket and it should be done before entering the parks.

Once your Military park hopper is activated on the 1st day does the Military service member need to be with you each of the other days you decide to go?

August 17, 2019 at 3:58 pm

Hi Ariel, No, they do not need to be with you after the first visit.

We are coming down the second week of January. Can I still buy military tickets and use them then? I wanted to go ahead and get them so we could schedule fast passes.

August 30, 2019 at 5:41 am

Hi Tammy, The current tickets available end on Dec. 19, 2019. Unfortunately, at this time Disney hasn’t released any information on for 2020. Check back late September or early October!

Can Armed Forces Salute tickets be activated by member if they get a one day pass and family members get the Armed Forces Salute ticket? My brother only wants to go for one day.

September 4, 2019 at 6:34 pm

Hi Vanessa,

Yes, that would work! He only needs to be present on the first day to activate the tickets. But he will only be able to purchase 5 tickets because out of the 6 allowed 1 is supposed to be used for the service member or spouse.

' src=

September 10, 2019 at 2:54 pm

Can I purchase military Disney World tickets twice in a year? I went this past April and we used our 5 day passes. I’d like to go again this November Since it is twice in one year I’m concerned that may not be allowed. Thanks so much.

September 10, 2019 at 5:45 pm

Hi there Ginny, Service members or their spouse are only allowed to purchase 6 tickets a year. Depending on how many you purchased in April, you may be eligible to purchase more. Ie: If you bought 4 in April you can get 2 more for your November trip. But if you purchased all 6 in April you cannot get any more until 2020.

July 20, 2021 at 4:14 pm

We used 4 of 6 of the armed forces salute in July. I the spouse purchased them at our travel agency on post. We are planning on going for thanksgiving, and plan on purchasing the other two armed forces salute. My husbands friend (another SM) offered to purchase the other two tickets. Would they say anything about the other two ticket purchases from a different service member? Or would we even be able to activate them without his presence?

July 20, 2021 at 4:44 pm

The tickets are attached to the service member/spouse who purchased them so they would have to be with you to activate the tickets, so unfortunately that wouldn’t work.

Personally, if you have any Disney children (9 and under) in your traveling party, I would buy them the regular slightly discounted tickets available on base (only saves a few dollars) and use the remaining Salute tickets for adults.

Have a magical holiday! Renee

Hi, if my father (retired Marine) purchases the pre-activated tickets from Shades of Green for our family, does that mean he does not need to go to the parks with us? He is on oxygen and would prefer to stay home

September 19, 2019 at 2:55 pm

Hi Traci, Because the Shades of Green tickets are already activated – you are correct and your father should not be required to be with you when going to the parks. But it is always a good idea that he be close by in case they do ask for the service member’s id. If he has a spouse with a dependent id and they are with you, the spouse can verify the tickets.

' src=

September 17, 2019 at 9:55 pm

I bought our Disney Armed Forces Salute tickets at Shades of Green and had them shipped to us in NC. Are they already activated? I dont have to activate at Disney World?

September 19, 2019 at 2:52 pm

The Shades of Green tickets should already be activated and good to go without having to activate them. But do be prepared to show your military id when using the tickets for the first time just in case.

November 4, 2019 at 12:45 pm

What if you’ve already been and bought 2 tickets and still have a few days left and want to buy tickets for some family that will be joining this second trip? Me and my husband have 2 days left on our passes and I will be going again in December. We have 7 people going since I will be buying the next set of tickets as I already have mine and my husband won’t be joining us. Can I only buy 4 or 5? Are the tickets somehow linked to his military ID somewhere or are they like any ticket but only can buy 6 at a time?

November 4, 2019 at 1:22 pm

Hi! You can only by 4 more for 2019. Those tickets can be used for anyone you choose.

' src=

November 5, 2019 at 11:03 am

Can we, the military member, purchase these for family members and send them without going? I wanted to buy them for Christmas gifts from Shades of Green, but I don’t want to go with them.

November 14, 2019 at 1:16 pm

So, technically the service member should be with them when using the tickets. But the Shades of Green tickets are pre-activated, which means they can be used without the service member going to the ticket counter to activate them. I, personally, wouldn’t feel comfortable sending them with the tickets without being close by. The Cast Members can ask for a military ID for verification and deny them entrance if they choose to.

Hope that helps. Renee

If my husband and I are both military can we each buy 6 tickets?

November 29, 2019 at 3:45 am

Hey Casey! Yes, since you both are military and as long as you both meet the other eligibility criteria you both should be able to buy up to 6 tickets each!

' src=

December 27, 2019 at 7:23 pm

If we were wanting to do a 9-day trip, can we purchase a 4-day and a 5-day ticket for 3 people? Do you know if we would be able to load both tickets into MDE, so that Fast Passes could be made for all 9 days?

January 2, 2020 at 8:35 pm

Hi Jane! Yes, you can purchase multiple tickets for each person, but are still limited to a total of 6 tickets per offer period. You should be able to load both at the same time and book fastpasses as normal.

January 2, 2020 at 8:03 pm

I am wondering something similar. I have been three times now with my fiance using Shades of Green tickets. They never ask for IDs and the passes worked fine. This year, I wanted him to purchase my friend and I a ticket to go but am now concerned that they won’t work cause he isn’t there? Do you think I will be stopped and asked for verification?

January 2, 2020 at 8:39 pm

Hey there Emily!

The tickets purchased from Shades of Green are already activated and should not require any additional activation. We’ve purchased the tickets for family members without being there on the first day of use and no one has had an issue. That said, there is always a chance for the Cast Members to ask. I’d make sure he’s available by phone in case any issues come up and bring all documents received from Shades of Green.

January 12, 2020 at 6:55 am

My family will be visiting WDW during Thanksgiving break this year. We’ll arrive on a Sunday and checkout Friday for our cruise. I purchased 4 day park hopper tickets to use that Monday thru Thursday. Can we activate our tickets that Sunday when we arrive? Or do we have to wait to activate when we’re actually going to a park? Also, if we can activate our tickets that Sunday, would Sunday be considered Day 1 of our 4 day tickets? Or would Day 1 be the 1st day we go to the parks?

January 12, 2020 at 7:36 am

Yes, you can activate your tickets on Sunday. The first day of use will be the day you actually scan the tickets to enter the park!

Hello, How much are individual tickets at Disney World for a 2 day trip with Military discount. I have tried to look up prices several times and can’t find it online.

Unfortunately, Disney World doesn’t offer a military discount for 2 day tickets directly. You can purchase slightly discounted tickets at your local base ticket office or through Shades of Green Resort.

For pricing check with your local base or Shades of Green https://www.shadesofgreen.org/experiences/tours/tour-1 Note that prices vary from location and these are not deeply discounted and in most cases only save you taxes plus a couple of dollars.

Hope that helps!

We live in Ocala Fl and my dad is 100% disabled so he is eligible for the military discount. We were going to buy the 6 day park hopper, but now he has decided to get the Silver Annual pass My question is: Can we buy the 6 day and upgrade to the Silver? Also if we do ,can we purchase them online from Shades of Green? We are planning a trip on Feb 14..

January 23, 2020 at 2:23 pm

Hey there Wendy!

Yes and yes, but it’s probably not worth the hassle. IMHO

The salute tickets can be upgraded but you only get the value you paid for them and if tickets are purchased tax free from Shades of Green, you’ll have to pay the tax along with the upgrade charge when converting to an annual pass at Disney Guest Relations. So there isn’t really any advantage to buying the Armed Forces Salute tickets and upgrading them to a silver annual pass.

Shades of Green does sell silver annual passes, so personally I’d check with them to save the tax!

Hope that isn’t too confusing!

Just wanted to let you know that when addressing where tickets can be bought, that there are 27 Coast Guard Exchange locations that sell all the military discount tickets just like an ITT office.

I activated my tickets through shades of green online (they mailed me my activated tickets). Will I need to show my ID at the gates again to get in?

You should not have to but it is always a good idea to bring your ID with you just in case.

I have two days left of my 2020 salute to service ticket. Can I use the remaining two days at Disneyland rather than Disney world where we used the first 4 days of the ticket?

June 17, 2021 at 6:31 am

Hey there! Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, the answer is no, you can’t use your Disney World tickets for Disneyland.

Each resort has their own ticketing system and they do not speak to each other so they are not interchangeable.

June 22, 2021 at 5:20 pm

We have 5 day passes purchased through the military. We only used the ticket once in 2020 before the covid closure. We are not comfortable being in crowds and would like to get a refund on the remaining days. On the Disney app it says that we can get a refund but I have been unable to speak to anyone at the ticket office in Orlando. I have been on hold several times for an hour or more each time. Do you have any tips to help me get the refund?

June 22, 2021 at 5:51 pm

Hi Lisa, You can try the base ticket office that you originally purchased the tickets through. Unfortunately, the only other option is calling Disney and sticking it out on hold. But be prepared for a refund to be denied, especially since you used the tickets, even though it was just one day.

Sorry I don’t have better news!

I’m service connected veteran. I want to take my wife and three kids and 3 grand kids to shade of green whats the cheapest way to get room for all of us also tickets I know I’m only allowed 6 tickets Wondering what can do one grand child is 6 8 and 9

June 23, 2021 at 7:24 pm

Hi John! As long as you meet the eligibility requirements, you can do have family suites that sleep up to 8. Personally, I’d play around with the numbers to see if it’s cheaper to do one suite or standard rooms.

For tickets, I’d use the 6 Armed Forces Salute tickets for the adults and 1 grandchild. Then purchase regular tickets for the other 2 kids. Shades of Green does offer a slight discount on those tickets.

June 27, 2021 at 9:56 am

Hello and thank you for all the information you have provided! I have a question about the Armed Forces tickets. We booked our flights to go to Orlando this week, but will be visiting WDW in August. My mom who is a military spouse can get up to 6 tickets(5 excluding herself). We will arrive 2 days before she does, if she purchases pre activated tickets from SOG, will we be able to use before hand or would we have to wait? I saw some comments where ID was not asked for at gate. What has been your experience?

June 28, 2021 at 8:47 am

Hi Shaquita,

SOG tickets are already activated, so technically your mom should not have to be there upon first use. I have purchased tickets in the past for my niece and she had no trouble using the ticket for the first time without me. My daughter was there with her dependent ID and I was available in case they needed me to head down there (we are local). I would suggest having a copy of her ID and/or have her available via video chat just in case you run into any issues!

Hope this helps. Renee

July 5, 2021 at 2:51 am

Hello! If my father (retired Army) purchases the pre-activated tickets from Shades of Green for a friends trip, will we be able to go without him at the gate? And would my dependent ID be valid considering I’m not the retiree/spouse? Thanks!

July 5, 2021 at 10:48 am

Hey Brooke! You should be able to use the tickets without the military member or spouse but the Cast Members can always ask to see the military members/spouse ID. I suggest to always be prepared for that with a picture of the service members ID and have access to them via phone/video and of course, know your ticket(s) can always be deactivated if they decide the rules haven’t been met.

My Father-In-Law purchased four 6-day Mil Salute tickets (FIL,MIL, Wife & me) last year. They are now unable to go and the tickets expire in Sept. My wife and I are non-military, can we pay the difference of the Mil Salute tickets to regular park ticket price and still go?

July 7, 2021 at 10:19 pm

Hi Tim, Honestly, I’m not sure. If they are already activated they may allow it but if they’re not I would expect them to require the military member to be there.

I would suggest calling, emailing or doing online chat and ask the Cast Members. Then if they say yes it can be done bring copies of the email or chat or have the names of whoever you talked to just in case the onsite guest relations Cast Member says no. Also it wouldn’t hurt to have your father in law on stand by via phone/video call in case they need to verify everything is legit.

Wish I could give you a more solid answer! Renee

Is there a way to upgrade from a 4 day salufe ticket to a 5 day salute before arriving to disney? Plans for us may be changing and may need to add another park day but if we wait until we arrive there may not be park availabilty. Just wondering if Disney has changed this policy at all

July 17, 2021 at 7:18 am

Unfortunately, as far as I know Disney has not changed their policy on upgrading tickets. Your best bet is to upgrade as soon as possible after arriving on property, you can do this at any Guest Relations including the one in Disney Springs, and then trying for a park reservation. With the Armed Forces Salute tickets you can park hop, so I’d just snag whatever is available and if is not the park you wanted plan on hopping to that one at 2pm.

Thank you for your question! If I come across different information I’ll be sure to let you know.

My MIL purchased our tickets last time on base when we are taking her with us. And she activated them when we arrived. (We were given the paper stubs to link to our MDE account)

She is not going this trip, but my sister in laws are (both of their husbands are military as well)…. If my MIL purchases the tickets on base for us again before we leave, can my BIL activate them for us since they will be there at the same time as us?

September 1, 2021 at 10:15 am

Hi Leigh, The tickets purchased on base are attached to that military service member and they (or spouse) are the ones who have to activate them. Plus, your BIL can only activate 6 tickets as that is all they are authorized to purchase. Now, if your BILs are not using all 6 of their allotted tickets they could use the leftovers for your family (it can be a combo of both BIL’s extra tickets) OR your MIL/FIL could purchase tickets over the phone/email from Shades of Green. The SOG tickets are already activated and you shouldn’t need someone to activate them for you.

Hope that helps! Renee

Hello my son in law is deployed at the present time and his wife (our daughter) is joining us on our trip the beginning of December. We feel bad because it’s his first deployment and they are still newlyweds. Can she as a Military wife purchase military WDW tickets? Thank you, Denise

i just purchased tickets from shades of green. They apporved my application and i made the purchase. Now they are saying im not qualified and might have to pay a differnce at the park?

' src=

October 7, 2021 at 11:23 pm

We now live here & have passes. Can we purchase for family since we’re here to activate? Or can we only purchase 5 since the 6th would have to be for the service member & we don’t need it (or do we actually have to purchase the 6th one & not use or can we get by with giving away all 6 if we are actually with them but using a pass instead)? How do they know if the SM uses it?

' src=

October 9, 2021 at 1:10 pm

If you purchase Military tickets on base, and plan to activate them upon arrival at the park, how do you make park reservations now that those are required due to Covid? TO make park reservations, you have to have a valid ticket? Will the military tickets have a code we can use to book park reservations? (We are staying off property.)

' src=

January 1, 2022 at 12:20 am

If the Military Salute MYW park hopper tickets my husband purchased on base have been linked to My Disney Experience, does that mean they are all ready activated? Or do I still have to go to guest relations? (He won’t be on this trip.)

January 24, 2022 at 11:20 am

Hi Rebecca, They still need to be activated once on Disney property. We usually activate them on arrival day at Disney Springs, so we’re ready to go the next day. But you can still make park reservations before activation!

Yes, Karen, they can all be used for golf!

January 22, 2022 at 7:57 pm

Renee, thank you for your help to all. I bought a 5-day Military discount ticket through the base MWR and will be starting off-site at an AirBnB. Am I correct in understanding the Military discount ticket Allie park early access as if I were staying at Shades of Green or a Disney Resort (or did I make that up wishing it were so)?

January 24, 2022 at 11:16 am

Hi Jim, Yes, staying at an on property Disney Resort or a handful of other qualifying hotels, including Shades of Green, gives guests access to 30 minute early entry to the parks. Another perk for staying at a Deluxe category hotel, like Shades of Green, is access to extended evening hours.

' src=

February 25, 2022 at 11:40 am

My SIL bought military tickets for my husband and I, and then we purchased normal tickets for our 2 girls. She just found out she has covid and won’t be able to come. What can we do to get in without her military ID? Can we pay to like upgrade our ticket to a normal one?

February 25, 2022 at 6:37 pm

That’s a tough question! Being able to upgrade will more than likely depend on the Cast Member but if they allow it all you’ll have to do is pay the difference.

' src=

March 1, 2022 at 11:47 am

If my son purchases 5 Disney World tickets through base or Shades Of Green, can he add a 6th ticket later through either purchase point? We have a 6th person who is uncertain she can come at this point. Or, conversely, can we purchase all 6 at once and get a refund if one of them is never used? Shades of Green activates them before selling so if it is possible to get a refund on unused ticket, would that not work if you get it through Shades of Green but would work if purchased on base?

March 1, 2022 at 3:17 pm

Hi Frances, Yes, your son can purchase a 6th ticket at a later time, if needed. Keep in mind that park reservations are required so you’ll want to make sure there are park reservations available for the 6th person before purchasing a ticket.

November 20, 2022 at 1:07 am

I purchased 4 tickets on base in Huntsville, Alabama. My son, daughter in love, and granddaughter and I will be going to WDW next week. They live in NC and I live in Alabama. I am disabled and don’t know if I can do the whole week of running the parks with them. I will be with them the first day, to activate the tickets at Disney Springs. If I were to not feel good and not do the entire week with them, will they have a problem getting into the parks? I have a nerve disease and sometimes the weather can trigger flare-ups and I don’t want to ruin their time if I can’t make it to the park on any of the days that week.

November 20, 2022 at 5:02 am

Hi Karol! No, they should have no issues using the tickets without you once activated.

I would recommend, if you’re feeling up to it, going to the park with them on the first day, just in case they run into an issue with the tickets. Ie one wasn’t activated properly.

Have a wonderful trip!

January 11, 2024 at 1:36 pm

Hi, we live in Nevada and planning a trip to WDW Florida. If we purchase the the 6 day hopper pass from base for Walt Disney World but end up not going to Florida, could we use them at Disneyland in California (even though they are for WDW)?

January 11, 2024 at 3:20 pm

Hi! I’m sorry to say that unfortunately, the Disney World tickets can’t be used at Disneyland.

' src=

February 2, 2024 at 8:56 pm

We brought 4 day pass hopper military salute. I have family and friends coming into town on different days. Can we activate the tickets for those who are with us on Tuesday and then be present with the other two people on Wednesday to activate their tickets when they show up? We are there for a week. My Husband and I both have 6 tickets since we are both retired military.

February 3, 2024 at 7:55 am

Yes, as long as you are there you can activate the tickets. You can always ask if they’ll activate all of them at once, so you could just hand the 2nd group their tickets without having to stand in line again the following day. Some Cast Members will do it and some won’t but in never hurts to ask! ~Renee

Comparing Princess Meals at Walt Disney World

4/2/2024 • Blog , Walt Disney World • For families with little girls, booking a princess meal at Walt Disney World is high on the must-do list but with multiple princess meal options – which one is best suited for your family? Cinderella’s Royal Table is located in Cinderella’s Castle. Hosted by Cinderella, you will have your family picture taken with her as you wait to be seated. After heading upstairs, other Disney princesses stop by your table to visit, allowing for pictures and autographs. For those with a dining package, this meal will cost two table service credits per person. Without a dining package the cost per person will be one of the more expensive meals on property. As this restaurant is small in seating capacity, you may need to be flexible with your preferred dining time. Located in Epcot, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is wonderful choice. This meal features multiple princesses that visit your table. At […]

Top 5 Activities for Adults-Only Trips to Walt Disney World

While you may miss the children for a few moments, there are some great experiences that you must try with your significant other or best friends. Here are some of my favorite activities on an adults-only trip. Jellyrolls – A dueling piano bar located on the Boardwalk, Jellyrolls is the place to hang out with your friends and enjoy top entertainment. With 2 piano virtuosos taking requests from the audience, grab a drink, make a request, and sing along for an evening filled with fun. Be sure to get there early for a seat as the bar fills to standing by 9pm each night and bring along small bills to give the players for those musical requests. Embarking on the Ultimate Disney Springs Adventure

3/12/2024 • Tips , Walt Disney World • Let’s embark on a journey into the enchanting world of Disney Springs—a hidden treasure at Disney World often overlooked by first-time visitors. Consider this your Disney Springs 101 lesson, where we'll navigate through its dynamic history, diverse geography, culinary wonders, shopping extravaganzas, and the latest in entertainment. Lesson 1: The Evolution of Disney Springs Our journey commences in 1975 when Disney introduced Lake Buena Vista Village, originally envisioned for on-property residents. Fast forward to 1989, and the area transformed into Pleasure Island, catering to adult nightlife. Over the years, it underwent several name changes, eventually becoming the beloved Downtown Disney District in 1995. The most recent transformation occurred on November 18, 2010, giving birth to Disney Springs—a themed town inspired by a twentieth-century waterside town. Our Clients Love Us

This is the second time we booked everything with Amy and WOW! She nailed it from start to finish. I cannot express how easy she makes the process. She knows it all, from the parks to the resorts and even character dining and other "things to do" We talked about everything from which attractions to visit first, down to the best place to get a stroller for our 4-year-old. She thought of EVERYTHING-was available any time I had a question and the care package we received was a magical "it's almost time" gift for my kids. Amy made our trip a breeze and I cannot say enough great things about her and the work she does. We WILL be returning again soon and we WILL be booking our trip with Amy! <3

Moderate pricing for Walt Disney World military visitors feature Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney's Port Orleans Resort- both Riverside and French Quarters, Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, and The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort.  The Armed Forces Salute discount honors a 35% reduced price.

Disney's Polynesian Resort as seen from the water

For military guests who are eyeing the deluxe locations, they can receive a 40% rate for a stay at several high-end venues. These include Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, Disney's Beach Club and Yacht Club Resorts, and Disney's BoardWalk Inn among others.

Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin

Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin

There are a few non-Disney venues on property that offer discounted military rates. Because Walt Disney World Dolphin and Walt Disney World Swan are Marriott chain-owned, discounts are through the headquarters. For further information, I recommend contacting these hotels individually.

Off-Property Accommodations

Likewise, the non-Disney locations on Walt Disney World Resort land, the hotels/motels off-site offer independent military discounts.  There are far too many to list individually but a quick internet check through travel agents or travel sites can verify any military discounts.

Walt Disney World Ticket Discounts for Military

Landmarks from each of Walt Disney World Resort’s 4 parks light up against the night sky

And, much like Walt Disney World military discounted lodging rates, ticket price reductions are plentiful for military visitors and families.

Disney Armed Forces Salute

Military personnel can receive lodging discounts through Disney Armed Forces Salute . This offer heavily discounts Walt Disney World Resort passes as well.

  • Guests can purchase tickets on military bases, through Disney, or at Shades of Green.
  • The qualifying member can purchase up to six tickets (one ticket must be used by military personnel or spouse).
  • Military personnel must activate the tickets first, then afterwards tickets can be used by anyone at any given time.
  • Days need not be consecutive.
  • Guests cannot rollover ticket days into the next calendar year.
  • The tickets are non-refundable.
  • Guests can upgrade tickets to “plus” status or seasonal passes.
  • Ticket holders can link the passes to “My Disney Experience” accounts to utilize FastPass+ and to make dining or special events reservations.
  • Call for updated blackout/blockout dates.

Qualifiers for Walt Disney World Ticket Discounts

Qualifying military personnel who can receive Disney's Armed Forces Salute is as follows:

  • Active/current/retired members of US military from Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard, Coast Guard, Commissioned Corps of the Public Health Services (PHS), Commissioned Corps of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
  • 100-percent permanently disabled veterans (qualifying personnel must have military ID with DAVPRM status).
  • Spouses of eligible members in place of members.
  • Widowed spouses of deceased eligible members.
  • Active Military Foreign Affiliates with US issued CAC blue band.

Stars and Stripes Pass

For Walt Disney World military guests who plan to experience an extended Disney vacation, the Stars and Stripes Pass is another option . The Stars and Stripes pass is now discontinued . Potential buyers must be guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel who are eligible to stay at Shades of Green.  There are a few more stipulations as follows:

  • Guests must present military ID and Walt Disney World Resort ID for purchase.
  • Tickets are sold in 2-10 day increments.
  • The number of ticket days must match the length of stay.
  • Guests must use days consecutively.
  • Ticket holders can use passes in all four theme parks and additional venues- Disney's Wide World of Sports complex, Blizzard Beach, and Typhoon Lagoon.

Disabled Veterans Eligibility Discounts

For those military veterans who are disabled, certain discounts apply depending on the status of the veteran.

  • Those veterans medically retired and who have a current retired ID are eligible for Disney's Armed Forces Salute and Shades of Green discounts.
  • Veterans whose disability is 100% service induced are eligible for Disney's Armed Forces Salute and Shades of Green discounts with DAVPRM status current ID.
  • Military veterans whose disability is 100% temporary are eligible for Shades of Green discount (no DAVPRM ID).
  • If a veteran is less than 100% disabled and not DAVPRM, then the person is not eligible for any regular military discount but can stay at Shades of Green and purchase tickets in the months of January and September only.
  • And, those personnel with honorable service are eligible to stay at Shades of Green with a DD-214.

Standard Military Discount Tickets

Waves of Honor High Res Stock Photo

Walt Disney World military visitors can also purchase the standard military discounted tickets but the savings are nowhere near as substantial as the Disney's Armed Forces Salute discount.  Military guests can purchase them from a military reseller or base, or at Shades of Green.  Subsequently, guests will save up to 8% depending on the type of ticket (non-hopper versus hopper) and the duration of stay up to 10 days.

Miscellaneous Military Discounts for Walt Disney World

Along with lodging and ticket price reductions, military personnel can capitalize on food, entertainment, and merchandise discounts.

Disney Springs Military Discounts

This outdoor entertainment venue on Walt Disney World Resort property offers discounts anywhere from 10%-25% from participating locations.  Dining facilities include Chef Art Smith, Ghirardelli Ice Cream and Chocolate Shop, and a full 25% discount when eating at House of Blues Restaurant. Entertainment locations, such as AMC Theaters, grant a discount as well. Check Planet Hollywood and House of Blues retail among others for more discounted merchandise in Disney Springs.

Scooters/ECVs Military Discounts

Walt Disney World Resort discounts the use of Electric Conveyance Vehicles (ECVs or scooters) within the resort. Discounts are applied to disabled military personnel and Wounded Warriors. Vehicles are on a first-come first-serve basis. You can see our full guide to renting a scooter at Disney World for everything you need to know.

Special Event Military Discount Options

disney travel agents military

In addition, military personnel should definitely take advantage of the discounts offered for two of Walt Disney World Resort's special events. Guests can save money on event tickets for the “Not So Scary Halloween” party and “Mickey's Very Merry Christmas” party .  Just stop by a Disney ticket window or Shades of Green with your current military ID.

I began my love for Disney as a child traveling to Walt Disney World on our annual family holiday. As an adult I have continued traveling to various Disney and Universal parks on a regular basis with my own family. I can help plan any size vacation from tickets to a park or preparing a complete vacation itinerary including lodging, dining, tickets, and special experiences. I have taken the time to become a CLIA accredited cruise counsellor so that I have the best knowledge possible to help clients experience amazing voyages. I am also passionate about luxury travel on land and sea! Whether cruising or exploring tropical all-inclusive resorts, I enjoy helping clients find the magical moments that will make each vacation a once in a lifetime opportunity.

As a Florida native, I have enjoyed the theme parks and incredible experiences offered for over 20 years. I have made it my mission to learn about these parks, stay up to date on all things Disney, and go to the parks as often as I can, so that I can relay that much needed information to my clients. From finding the perfect resort, to snagging that coveted dining reservation, to suggesting foods and experiences. I love it all! As a mama of four kiddos, I can help you prepare for Disney with kids and also adult only trips, if you just want to get away.

When I am not planning trips to Disney, or dreaming about Disney, I am hanging with my kiddos and my amazing husband. We love Jesus, vacations, family game night, food, and movie nights. We love to spend the summer supporting my husband in his BBQ competitions around central Iowa.

We met in 2015 while in the marching band at Jacksonville State University.  Nic worked for Disney in 2016 as part of the Disney college program.  Looking for ways to spread that Disney magic, we joined Fairy Godmother Travel in 2020. We look forward to helping others create special memories that last a lifetime.

As a mom of three Disney fanatics, I am eager to help you find a great adventure. I have experienced traveling with children from infants to teenagers.  Are you thinking about an adult only trip? I can assist you with any destination. Just like Belle, when I have some free time, you can find me with my nose in a book.

I am married with two children and live in Mississippi. After graduating from LSU, I began a career as a speech language pathologist. I love football and especially LSU and the Saints. I have a love of all things Disney and Universal. This love resulted from vacationing at these Orlando resorts as a child.   Many enjoyable family vacations led me to my joining Fairy Godmother Travel in 2021.  I look forward to helping you with your travel plans.

I was born and raised in Southern New Mexico! I‘m a desert rat turned world traveler. I met my husband in 2018 and we got married shortly after and moved all the way across the world to Germany. Go big or go home, lol! I am a military spouse, toddler mom, and craftaholic! I am also a HUGE Disney nut. I’m 99% sure my blood cells are Mickey shaped! I am a huge supporter of taking babies/toddlers to Disney! I took my daughter to Disney World for her first birthday! In addition to Disney, I book Universal Studios and several cruise lines! Want to go on vacation but not sure where? I’d love to help you figure out the best place to go! I love hunting for a super good deal so shoot me an email and let’s get you the most magical deal out there!

I love to travel! Getting to plan the next adventure is such a thrill! I am married to my college sweetheart and the proud mom of 3 boys. I get the privilege of raising 2 of our sons and our oldest son is waiting for us in Heaven. I am a Registered Nurse and love taking care of people. One of my best memories from growing up was going to Universal Studios and Disney World with my family as a teenager. After our oldest son passed away, and our other sons were born, my fire for travel and to create magical memories for our children ignited. One of our favorite places to go is Universal Studios. My family and I call Universal our "home" because every time we arrive it feels like we are coming back to the place where we belong. Let me help to create a magical and fantastical vacation for you.

Hi, I’m Taylor, a wife, a mom, a muggle who thrives at Disney and lives on coffee. I grew up in Tampa, FL, but now call Middle Tennessee home! Growing up so close to Disney my family had season passes and that’s where my love for Disney began, with many of my happiest childhood memories occurring on our family trips to Disney World! With two little girls of my own, my life feels like a constant Disney movie full of Elsa braids and toys with a life of their own. I am now creating new Disney memories with my own family and love seeing the magic come to life through my girls' eyes.

After traveling through Europe, experiencing all inclusive resorts, and friends constantly asking me for Disney travel tips I decided to put my knowledge to work and joined Fairy Godmother Travel in 2023.

When I'm not planning our next family trip to Disney you can find me on the playground chasing littles, rereading Harry Potter or watching Gilmore Girls for the thousandth time. I am so excited to help you create your next happy memory!

Moscow/Zelenograd and New Moscow

  • 4 Events, Festivals

Zelenograd and New Moscow are two large parts of Moscow city, that lie (often far) outside consolidated residential zone of the city, which lies within and just beyond the MKAD (Moscow Ring Road).

Zelenograd was added in Moscow in 1968 as one of the leading scientific centers. New Moscow was added to Moscow in 2012, forming Novomoskovky and Troitskiy Administrativniy Okrugs with plans of new vast expansion. New Moscow territory is yet to change according to its new city status. Even though suburbial kind construction intensifies in Novomoskovsky Administrativniy Okrug, Troitskiy Administrativniy Okrug still mostly has a rural feel.

By plane [ edit ]

Vnukovo and Ostafyevo airports are situated in New Moscow proper, though from Ostafyevo airport you still have to go through the "old" Moscow. It is possible to get from Sheremetyevo to Zelenograd without going to the old city - you have to change to 400 minibus on Leningrad highway or on local train on Planernaya. From Domodedovo airport you'll have to go through the old city anyway (the route through Domodedovo and Podolsk will take more time).

By train [ edit ]

Local trains connect Zelenograd with Leningrad Train Station, Tver, Klin and Konakovo. Local trains from Kiev Train Station pass through northern part of New Moscow between Novoperedelkino and Krekshino. To go to Zosimova Pustyn you may want to go all the way to Bekasovo, but trains there are infrequent. It is possible to get to New Moscow through Podolsk, but you'll have to change to bus there.

By bus [ edit ]

Most frequent bus to Zelenograd is bus 400 from Rechnoi Vokzal. It has special pricing. Buses are primary way of public transport to get to New Moscow, new buses are often added. Most buses start from Yugo-Zapadnaya and Tepliy Stan metroes, and Podolsk train station. Troitsk serves as a bus hub.

By car [ edit ]

Zelenograd is accessible by M10 highway. Major highways in New Moscow are M3, A101, Warsaw highway Podolsk - Kresty (joining with A101), first "Beton Ring" A107 and Borovsk highway Peredelkino - Vnukovo - to join with M3. M10 and A101 are often highly congested, M3 may be less prone to it, except Moscow vicinity, and crossing with A107, A107 is congested near M3 crossing, which is northwest of New Moscow; Warsaw highway is congested in Podolsk, and you'll have to pass congested M2 to get there from MKAD.
