Last summer a buddy introduced me to Matt's music through a CD he picked up for me. I listen to that CD non stop in my car for months. Loved the music. We went together with our wives to a show he did at the Jackson Trigg winery. As much as I liked his music on that CD nothing compares to Matt's live show. Simply blew me away under the stars in that vineyard setting. So much I had to see him again that summer at the St Francis Center in Ajax. Matt is quite simply an amazing guitar player with one of the most powerful and soulful voices I have ever heard. Saw him two weeks ago at the renewed Regent Theater in Oshawa. He was with the Melotones and Amy Helm. Again the show blew me away. I can not recommend supporting this great Canadian artist enough. I am a fan for life and will go out and see an Andersen show ever time it comes to town. Seeing Matt live is a must see for anyone who enjoys good live music done right by a home grown gem.

Incredible show last night. Matt is an absolute powerhouse and having the opportunity to see him play with one of the best backing bands around is not something that should be passed up.

He is incredibly charming and personable, while he tells stories about his writing process and throwing some hilarious shade back and forth with the band and the road crew.

He also takes the time after every show to meet with anyone who wants to stick around.

I could not recommend this show more than this. Go see Matt Andersen and the Mellotones and enjoy the feeling in your soul when he sings without the mic and fills the hall. What a beast.

I have seen Matt in Sacramento about 5 years ago and just saw him again in 2019 in Novato, California.

My son in Holland learned about him on TV in the Netherlands where he lives and told me how amazing his voice is. Matt is a favorite of a famous TV host who got Matt to perform on TV. I have all of his CD’s and two photos of me with him. I cherish the memories of seeing him in concert and can’t wait for the next time to see him perform. He is also the nicest person with a great sense of humor. It truly is my favorite concert to go to. I highly recommend Matt Anderson.

Very good live show. His voice is just amazing, so powerful. Great musicians and nice set list. He is funny and personable with the audience. He did 3 songs solo in the middle of the set, which was amazing. He is an excellent guitarist as well. Very worth seeing for some great Canadian blues-inspired music.

Incredible show just as I expected. His voice...he can raise the roof off, with the effort we would use to talk. And his rhythm section were unbelievable!

Highly recommend this one!!!

Never met a Matt I didn’t like...

Perfect venue too.

Felt so lucky to have Matt...and Serena Ryder, playing just down the road from where we live. Only sorry not more people there to enjoy. Would love to have heard more from Matt but he was great, Coalmining Blues made me cry.

We were so glad to see Matt and Bona Fide (and Donovan Woods) at the start of their tour, in Vancouver. Wow! Matt is even better in live concert than he sounds on his stellar albums. And what a talent he is on the guitars!

matt andersen tour dates 2022

Acclaimed Canadian musician Matt Andersen is gearing up to tour the US in support of his upcoming release House to House, out March 4th on Sonic Records. The first track off the album is the thunderous “Other Side of Goodbye” which is earning raves across the board. Matt Anderson Announces Fall Headlining US Tour

Andersen will perform solo on his upcoming fall dates.

pixeltracker

Following numerous sold-out shows in his native Canada, a spring tour with Tab Benoit, and a summer run with Devon Allman and Donavon Frankenreiter, dynamic singer/songwriter Matt Andersen is planning a fall U.S. headline tour, supporting his latest album, The Big Bottle of Joy.

A full list of tour dates is below and can be found on Matt’s website  HERE . Ahead of the dates, Andersen is releasing a video for “Shoes,” the romantic album closing track about finding balance in a relationship when partners are sadly out of sync.

Released earlier this year, The Big Bottle of Joy is a collection of 12 exhilarating songs that pulse with blues, rock, Americana, and gospel energy. Andersen’s masterful vocals are at their best, striking the perfect balance of unbridled power and soulful quietness. The album has earned raves for the accomplished musician and lyricist.

Matt Andersen has earned every one of his fans through years of touring the globe. From small, dimly lit clubs to majestic theaters and major festivals, Andersen delivers soulful performances that run the gamut from intimate to wall-shaking.

The bluesman has amassed over 26 million streams on Spotify and well over 26 million views on YouTube and has shared the stage and toured with Marcus King, Beth Hart, Marty Stuart, Greg Allman, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Randy Bachman, and many more.

Andersen nabbed the 2013 and 2016 European Blues Awards for Best Solo/Acoustic Act and was the first ever Canadian to take home top honors in the solo category at the 2010 International Blues Challenge in Memphis. The Big Bottle of Joy is Andersen’s 10th studio album and follows 2022’s acclaimed House to House.

Andersen will perform solo on his upcoming fall dates. Fellow Canadian Adam Baldwin will open the shows. Baldwin’s latest album Concertos & Serenades has been widely praised and the single “Lighthouse in Little Lorraine” won the East Coast Music Award for Song of the Year.

Earlier in the year Andersen released his first acoustic solo studio record ‘House to House’ to widespread praise. On the album, he embraced a stripped-down sound while sacrificing none of the power he has become known for in his electric live performances. About the songs on ‘House to House’, Andersen shares that, “Songs that are as much about the space as they are about what happens between the spaces. I’ve learned those moments need to be there in a show. Big and strong isn’t big and strong if you don’t have a quiet moment to compare it to. This album is pretty much all about those types of songs.”

On ‘House to House’ Andersen moves in a different direction from the dynamic, thumping blues that has earned him numerous accolades and awards.   Here he effortlessly delves into gospel-infused folk, introspective singer/songwriter numbers and thoughtful ballads, showing a more intimate side of the performer and writer.   That sparseness shows in the album’s recording process, which occurred during the pandemic in Andersen’s home studio in rural Nova Scotia, live off-the-floor, with no overdubs. The title track was written with Andersen and musicians Chris Robison and Scott Prudence who built his home studio.

One hears the mighty command of Andersen’s grand voice throughout the album, starting with the first track ‘Other Side of Goodbye.’ Andersen’s softer vocals permeate his melodic, finger-picking on ‘Lookin’ Back at You.’ Love infuses the poignant ‘Let Me Hold You,’ which sets the scene for a quiet, fireside evening. Terra Spencer’s harmonies add depth to the enamored ‘Raise Up Your Glass’ and ‘See This Through’ gathers resolve during a dark period in a relationship. Album closer, a gorgeous gospel-infused cover of Curtis   Mayfield’s ‘People Get Ready’ featuring Reeny, Micah, and Mahalia Smith, brings the album to a rousing end.

Matt Andersen Spreads Positive Energy on Triumphant New Album THE BIG BOTTLE OF JOY out March 10, 2023

Article contributed by all eyes media | published on wednesday, december 7, 2022.

matt andersen tour dates 2022

Acclaimed Canadian musician Matt Andersen announces the release of his latest album The Big Bottle of Joy , out March 10th on Sonic Records. On the album, the dynamic singer/songwriter and his mighty band, aptly named The Big Bottle of Joy , offer a dozen inspiring songs infused with soulful blues, rollicking Americana, thoughtful folk, and ecstatic gospel. For an early look at the release, check out the thumping live version of album track “What’s On My Mind” HERE .

On The Big Bottle of Joy , Andersen brings the inimitable power he has become known for in his electric live performances with a band that elevates his illustrious vocal prowess.  Andersen chose each member with their particular strength in mind and tailored moods, arrangements and sections to highlight their substantial talents. The synergy of the players is clear in the seamless energy of the performances, making the collaborative musical effort the essence of The Big Bottle of Joy ; we are all in this world together so let’s look out for one another.  “Being good to each other, you know, and taking care of each other - those are the biggest things I want to put out there,” Andersen says. “If we're in it together, it'll be a lot easier than trying to do it on our own.”

Each track on The Big Bottle of Joy is lifted by the stirring harmonies of Reeny, Haliey and Micah Smith who add both intensity and joy to each note. The album kicks off with the mighty “Let it Slide,” an organ-drenched banger with a live-and-let-live mantra. “So Low, Solo” kicks the blues into high gear, while “What’s On My Mind” continues the freewheeling vibes with “We’ve got to learn how to live together, we’ve got a whole lot of living to do.” “Aurora” playfully shares the moments of a road entanglement, while the lonely “Only an Island” yearns for a love lost, lamenting the mistakes made along the way. The album closes with the romantic “Shoes” (co-written with Donovan Woods), ending with quiet, intimate moments, “dancing with the shoes we’ve got on.”  Musicians Geoff Arsenault (drums), Mike Farrington Jr. (bass), Kim Dunn (piano), Cory Tetford (guitar) and Chris Kirby (organ, piano) are the perfect accompaniments to Andersen’s lead vocals, which easily shift from forceful and booming to delicate and serene.

Matt Andersen has earned every fan through decades of touring across the globe, from small dimly lit clubs to majestic theaters and major festivals, delivering soulful performances that run the gamut from intimate to wall-shaking. He has amassed over 23 million streams on Spotify and 26 million views on YouTube. In addition to headlining major festivals, clubs and theatres throughout North America, Europe and Australia, he has shared the stage and toured with Marcus King, Beth Hart, Marty Stuart, Greg Allman, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Randy Bachman, Jonny Lang, Serena Ryder, and more. Andersen nabbed the 2013 and 2016 European Blues Awards for Best Solo/Acoustic Act, was the first ever Canadian to take home top honours in the solo category at the 2010 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, won the CIMA Road Gold award in 2015, and has won multiple Maple Blues Awards. The Big Bottle of Joy is Andersen’s 10th studio album and follows 2022’s acclaimed House to House.

The PGA TOUR’s Florida swing continues at Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club & Lodge – an iconic venue for one of the most iconic players of all time.

The Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard is the second of three player-hosted invitationals (along with Tiger Woods’ The Genesis Invitational and Jack Nicklaus’ the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday) on the TOUR’s schedule this year and is the fourth of eight Signature Events.

Here's everything else you need to know before play begins in Orlando.

FIELD NOTES: Austin Eckroat will head north from Palm Beach Gardens to Orlando in search of back-to-back TOUR titles, fresh off a victory at the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches in a Monday finish. Eckroat, who finished No. 3 in the inaugural PGA TOUR University Ranking in 2021, became the second PGA TOUR University alum to win on TOUR after Ludvig Åberg. Eckroat won the Cognizant Classic by three shots and will make his Bay Hill debut this week … Defending champion Kurt Kitayama looks to continue his solid play so far in 2024 and hopes to become the first back-to-back winner at Bay Hill since Matt Every in 2014-15. Kitayama is 5-for-5 in made cuts on TOUR this season … Reigning FedExCup champ Viktor Hovland is back in action. Hovland last teed it up at The Genesis Invitational where he finished tied for 19th. He has recorded back-to-back top-10 results at Bay Hill, including a runner-up in 2022 … Current world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is back in action and looking to continue his excellent form at Bay Hill. Scheffler has gone T4-1-T15 in his last three Arnold Palmer Invitational starts, and he hasn’t finished worse than T17 in his last five TOUR starts – including three straight top 10s … Other notables include Rory McIlroy (the winner in 2018 and runner-up a year ago), two-time winners from last season Lucas Glover and Max Homa , recent major champs Brian Harman and Wyndham Clark , past FedExCup champs Jordan Spieth , Justin Thomas and Patrick Cantlay , and plenty more star power.

Of note: The Arnold Palmer Invitational will once again act as a qualifying event for The Open Championship, with three spots available to those not already qualified.

SPONSOR EXEMPTIONS: European Ryder Cuppers Nicolai Højgaard and Shane Lowry are both teeing it up at Bay Hill … Højgaard missed the cut at his Arnold Palmer Invitational debut in 2022 but comes to Orlando having found the weekend in five straight TOUR events. He also won the DP World Tour Championship in November … Lowry finished 67th at Bay Hill a year ago but comes into the week after finishing tied for fourth at the Cognizant Classic – his third straight top-five finish at PGA National … Adam Scott looks to continue his hot play of late on TOUR. Scott has notched four straight top-20 finishes on TOUR dating back to last year. This will be his 13th start at Bay Hill with a career-best showing of third place, both in 2004 and 2014. That’s a promising pattern for this week … 2018 PLAYERS champion Webb Simpson rounds out the sponsor invites given to TOUR pros. Simpson finished 24th at the Arnold Palmer Invitational last season – his first start in Orlando since 2017.

David Ford , a junior at the University of North Carolina, earned his way into the field thanks to winning a vote of his peers at the 2023 Palmer Cup. Ford, the 2023 Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year and a first-team All-American was part of the winning USA team at the Palmer Cup. Beginning in 2017, the winning team has voted for one individual to receive an exemption into the Arnold Palmer Invitational – with Åberg and Collin Morikawa among the previous winners. This will be Ford’s third PGA TOUR start. Ford, who is third in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, played The RSM Classic in November alongside his twin brother, Maxwell.

SIGNATURE EVENT STORYLINES: With his first PGA TOUR victory, Eckroat earned his way into the Arnold Palmer Invitational (along with the remaining four Signature Events this season) … Mark Hubbard and Thomas Detry were bumped from the Aon Next 10 after the Cognizant Classic, with Eckroat making a hearty jump after his win. Erik van Rooyen also slid in with a tie for second at PGA National … Min Woo Lee , who finished second alongside van Rooyen, jumped into the second spot on the Aon Swing 5 to earn a spot at Bay Hill … The others in the Aon Swing 5 remained unchanged week-over-week with Sami Valimaki, C.T. Pan, Stephan Jaeger and Justin Lower rounding out that group … The Arnold Palmer Invitational will be the fourth Signature Event of the season … The next Signature Event on the PGA TOUR schedule is the RBC Heritage in mid-April. The Aon Swing 5 standings for Harbour Town start with the Puerto Rico Open and continue through the Valspar Championship, Texas Children’s Houston Open and Valero Texas Open … The Aon Next 10 for the RBC Heritage is comprised of the current-year FedExCup standings through the Masters Tournament.

COMCAST BUSINESS TOUR TOP 10 UPDATES: With his tie for fourth at the Cognizant Classic, Jake Knapp jumped from No. 8 to No. 5 in the standings … Chris Kirk also jumped one spot in the standings from No. 4 to No. 3 after a final-round, 6-under 65 at PGA National … Cognizant Classic winner Austin Eckroat jumped 78 spots in the standings to No. 17, about 50 points back from a spot in the TOUR TOP 10.

FEDEXCUP: Winner receives 700 FedExCup points.

COURSE: Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club & Lodge, par 72, 7,466 yards. Bay Hill will once again host the Arnold Palmer Invitational, as it has every year since 1979. It’s a mostly flat layout but features water challenges on most holes and demands a high level of ball-striking to score well. A shotmaker’s delight, Bay Hill is as testy as any PGA TOUR venue across the last half decade, with single-digit under-par winning scores in three of the last four seasons.

72-HOLE RECORD: 264, Payne Stewart (1987)

18-HOLE RECORD: 62, Andy Bean (Round 2, 1981), Greg Norman (Round 2, 1984), Adam Scott (Round 1, 2014).

LAST TIME: Kurt Kitayama let a star-studded cast of chasers back into the mix after making a triple bogey on the par-4 ninth Sunday, but a clutch birdie on the penultimate hole of the tournament followed by a nifty lag putt from 47 feet (to tap-in range) secured his first PGA TOUR title. Kitayama put together a virtuoso statistical effort – he ranked T1 in driving accuracy, T1 in greens in regulation and No. 3 in Strokes Gained: Putting. Kitayama shot back-to-back even-par 72s at Bay Hill over the weekend, weathering Sunday’s triple bogey with steady back-nine play to hold off an impressive pack including Rory McIlroy and Harris English, who shared second place one shot back. Patrick Cantlay, Jordan Spieth and Scottie Scheffler finished a shot further back at 7-under and tied for fourth. Scheffler was looking to go back-to-back at Bay Hill but shot a 1-over 73 in the final round.

Fun facts from our Moscow Metro Tours:

From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.

At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.

According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.

The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.

Coffee Ring

The first scheme of Moscow Metro looked like a bunch of separate lines. Listen to a myth about Joseph Stalin and the main brown line of Moscow Metro.

Zodiac Metro

According to some astrologers, each of the 12 stops of the Moscow Ring Line corresponds to a particular sign of the zodiac and divides the city into astrological sector.

Astrologers believe that being in a particular zadiac sector of Moscow for a long time, you attract certain energy and events into your life.

Paleontological finds

Red marble walls of some of the Metro stations hide in themselves petrified inhabitants of ancient seas. Try and find some!

  • Every day each car in  Moscow metro passes  more than 600 km, which is the distance from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
  • Moscow subway system is the  5th in the intensity  of use (after the subways of Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai).
  • The interval in the movement of trains in rush hour is  90 seconds .
