First class customer service

We booked with Andy at Charter Travel. Extremely helpful and patient as we had several moving pieces we needed to get in place before we could complete the booking. I thoroughly recommend booking with Charter, the customer service we have received compared to another company I was looking at has been first class.

We had a very easy time booking our honeymoon to Sri Lanka and the Maldives. The itinerary was flexible, and tailor made to how we wanted to spend our time. Multiple itineraries were put together to give us options. The communication was above and beyond, and they were always willing to answer any of our questions.

Personal, Experienced Travel Advisors

Having previously used Charter Travel for holidays in the USA I was confident they could put together a bespoke holiday to San Francisco/Maui/Oahu/Las Vegas over 3 weeks. Linda provided various options with lots of great advice based in personal experience. We had a fabulous holiday with some extra special touches for my sister’s birthday at the hotel. I highly recommend Charter Travel.

Crimbo Limbo in Vegas

I was hesitant to begin with as the first red flag I had was they wouldn't accept a credit card as payment which meant we were not going to be able to claim Virgin Airmiles which was annoying. However we were booking this holiday with only 5 days until the requested departure date, very last minute. We finally bit the bullet and paid with Bank transfer, bit risky... But we had our tickets and travel documents within the hour, even late into the evening. We dealt with a guy called Peter. So other than not accepting credit card (Honestly, we would of preferred the pay the 3% fee if it meant getting those airmiles) We had no Issues booking with Charter Travel and would use again.

Dream honeymoon to Hawai'i

We booked our honeymoon to Hawaii with Linda Maloney, having found her online. Her knowledge of Hawaii was excellent, and she gave us many hotel options and combinations for each island (we visited 3 during our 3 week stay) to make sure we had the exact right stay for us, at our desired budget. On the lead up to our holiday, we decided to hire a car for our days on The Big Island. Linda added this to our booking with no issues, and the process to collect and return was very smooth. If we are lucky enough to afford such a holiday again in our future, we will certainly be returning to Linda to help us book! She made everything so easy and there was nothing for us to worry about, travel, accommodation and car hire were all smooth experiences. Thank you Linda for helping us create our dream honeymoon!

Perfect service

I can't recommend Charter Travel enough to anyone wanting to book a holiday. We dealt with a great chap called Peter, who went well over and above for us. He would respond to e-mails incredibly quickly, including late at night. Charter made the booking experience hassle free, and helped immensely with optional tours, applying for ESTAs and anything else we were not sure of. My only criticism is that you do not get a reminder of your date to pay the balance of your holiday and if you forget, your holiday will be cancelled automatically. This wasn't really an issue for us as I set a reminder on my phone for the week before.

Ive used Charter travel for a number of years now and they never let me down. Everything runs smoothly from start to finish. Im always kept up to date by the team for any changes to my holuday, flights etc. Peter is amazing and so helpful. He has always delivered, even when I keep changing dates, numbers etc Absolutely brilliant and wouldn't use anywhere else for my trips.

Florida 2023

What can I say about Charter Travel? Well, they are amazing from start to finish. My initial phone call was like I had known Sean for years, he was so friendly and I felt like I could ask him anything and he would have sorted it out for us. Any queries we had, I just emailed or phoned and it was sorted there and then. I cannot fault the company at all, and they did everything to accommodate us, even down to the experience at the airport, they got wheelchair assistance for me both ways. Charter cannot do enough for you and the holidays they supply, well, amazing. Accommodation was lush, flights were spot on and the whole experience was second to none. Would highly recommend and I for one will certainly be using them again. Thank you Charter Travel!!!!!

10/10 customer service. Jason is fantastic

Was very hesitant to book non direct initially. I shopped around slightly and was choosing between 2 companies as I didn’t want the hassle of booking it all myself. As soon as Jason from charter travels gave me a call… it was a no brainier. His professionalism, customer service and willingness to help us has been unmatched. He sent me through so many different quotes before we booked to not only find what suited us, but also find the best price. We’re able to pay in monthly installs if we want, helped us add the dining plan onto our existing booking, and even after booking has continually sent us follow up emails. I hope this review can persuade someone who was as overwhelmed as I was at the thought of booking this all themselves to trust the process and let charter travels give the amazing experience that I’ve had. BRING ON AUGUST!!!!

This is the second time booking with…

This is the second time booking with Charter travel, I cannot recommend them enough. The first time we booked through them, we had Peter who was great, sorted everything out for us, unfortunately our villa fell through (owners selling up) but Sandra managed to get us another one in less than 24hrs, which was a relief. Had a great holiday in Florida Aug 2022. This year we didn’t hesitate to book through Charter travel again for our planned Florida holiday for Oct 2024. This time we got Andy, he was a great help, nothing was ever too much trouble, he found us a great villa, and in the area we wanted, and all under our budget, thank you so much, will continue to use Charter in the coming years for all our holiday needs.

Have booked with Charter Travel 3 times now to go to Disney, Florida. Always come back with the best price even when we have shopped around. Also very quick to reply and happy to supply numbers quotes for date changes etc, basically can't fault them. Would defiantly recommend and will be booking again in the future.

Excellent customer service

After booking our last Florida holiday with Charter Travel, we have just re-booked again. I can honestly say that “Luke” went above and beyond helping me choose this recent booking. Nothing was too much trouble. He sent me all the options and more that what I asked for. Nobody could come close on the price! Charter travel are a great company.

Charter travel are a great company. Sean was great in booking and advising us when we booked. We also dealt with Kate. We were caught up in the recent Florida hurricane and had to stay an extre day in America. We emailed and spoke to Kate and she was great and sorted an extra night and sorted the car hire, nothing was too much trouble for her and we were able to enjoy the rest of the holiday knowing she had everything in hand. have recommended them to family and friends. I contacted Charter for a quote for a…

I contacted Charter for a quote for a holiday to Hawaii. Linda responded and came back with a detailed proposal to visit three islands, flights and hotels. We reviewed these and asked for other hotels options which Linda researched and came back with a revised quote which we accepted. Having just returned form the holiday I would like to recommend Charter Travel as everything was brilliant, hotel upgrades, car hire and flights. Trip options, length of stay and general advice were much appreciated and resulted in a holiday of a lifetime thanks to Linda and Charter Auatralia next

Awful customer service

Awful customer service My Husbands 50th next July We wanted to do a trip Las Vegas and Hawaii Business class 2 couples. The obnoxious lady called and was so rude and patronising My wife who took the call was the Manager of Thomas Cook for many years and never ever would of spoken to a client like that.

Highly Recommend Charter Travel

Charter Travel was recommended to me, so I thought I would give them a go for flight prices and I am so glad I did. I spoke with Peter for prices of flights to Orlando from Heathrow which he quoted for and was much cheaper than booking Direct with Virgin for exactly the same flight and luggage allowance but what he also did was quote for flying in to Tampa which was even cheaper its only a short distance further but for the money we saved it was obvious which flight to book. Peter also checked out car hire for me and came back with a great price. The booking and paying process was very simple and I had all my booking details sent to me within minuets I would not hesitate to use Charter Travel again and I will be recommending them to friends and Family. Once again a massive Thank you to Peter.

Was recommended to use them but got ghosted

After being recommended them on Facebook I completed a form on their online portal for a trip to Disney. They (Peter) emailed me a few days later reasking a few questions that I'd already completed plus a few others - which was fair enough. But then never heard anything back. Very weird experience to be ghosted by a travel agent. Luckily both Ever After holidays and Virgin have provided useful quotes.

Flights to Canada

Booking anything now is a protracted experience!! Just wanted some flights to Canada and following an attempt online, gave up rang Charter Travel whom employ real helpful humans and made my experience easy and cheaper (including.. yes baggage, seats, even wings on the plane!!!) Excellent service

Our whole experience with booking through Charter Travel was great. Claire spent time finding out what we wanted from our holiday and was always happy to come back with different options of hotel/destination if requested. She booked us two Caribbean islands with hotel transfer and inter connecting flight. Everything went to plan and we had a fantastic time. Booking with Claire gave us peace of mind that there was backup if any problems occurred whilst away. We would definitely recommend going to see Charter Travel, and will be contacting them again for our next adventure.

Linda deserves 10 stars!!

Linda deserves 10 stars!! We have just returned from a fabulous holiday in Dubai, Bali, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore and everything was perfectly organised by Linda. We had many questions during the booking and nothing was too much trouble for her. The holiday was fantastic with no concerns and the hotel in Bali was absolutely first class, we would love to return. In fact every accommodation was of the highest standard. Danny has been organising my annual…

Danny has been organising my annual holidays since my honeymoon in 2006! I just tell him where I want to go and he sends me a selection of hotels/areas to look at even offering advice when I’m not sure taking all the hard work of getting the perfect break away. I would not consider looking anywhere else other than Danny at Charter Travel and am really looking forward to my holiday in Morocco in May just booked with him.

Exceptional service

We couldn't be more pleased with the service provided by Charter Travel, namely Sean, who has gone over and above our expectations to accommodate the needs of my family (12 in total) for our holiday in Orlando next year. Sean remembered my family from our booking pre-covid when we had to re-arrange our holiday to Orlando during the pandemic. Thankfully,we were eventually able to enjoy our holiday. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Charter Travel and most certainly would use them again in the future.

They did it again!

Once again Charter Travel have given us outstanding service. We arrived home from an amazing holiday in Thailand booked with them and decided the only way to get ivervthe holiday blues was to book another holiday. Weve booked Florida as a large family group for March next year. Our consultant was Peter, who is friendly, knowledgeable and very patient! It took some organizing sorting out 11 then 9 passenger, but we got there in the end. Not only did we get a better deal price wise, even though we still fly with Virgin, the house booked is huge and so close to all the attractions. We would not have got that elsewhere. Can't recommend Charter Travel enough, they go above and beyond every time.

Linda has organised a couple of tailor made holidays for us. Linda has always understood the type of hotels we like to stay in and the areas that suit our travel preferences. Excellent company, 5 stars

Excellent company if you are looking for booking a holiday to the USA, they are person centred and very competitive on price. I booked my 2019 Florida holiday and Richard helped me with every aspect of my holiday so when I was ready to book again for 2024 I didn’t hesitate in contacting them and Richard got back to me straight away with prices and nothing was too much trouble for him even with me changing my mind on the dates. And due to the excellent service I booked again. I will also be going back to book my 2026 holiday.

Leah was outstanding!

We are a family of 4 with a strong desire to take our children on their dream holiday to Florida but we were out quoted through Virgin/TUI/ and other travel websites that went beyond our budget. Our friend recommended us to look at Charter Travel. Since then, the internet has turned most of us into our own travel agents, and artificial intelligence software is making research and self-booking even easier. But for some trips, that special insider knowledge can still make a big difference.

So when should you hire a professional, and how does it all work? Here are some tips.

Why should I consider a travel adviser?

It’s easy for a traveler to do the research for a standard trip, said Chris Anderson, a professor at the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration, “so they should look for a specialist for the type of tour they are looking for, say a bike trip in Ireland, who can really add value.”

The insider knowledge offered by a travel adviser can add the most value to trips that have multicity itineraries, involve a wide age range of travelers , are very significant (like an anniversary vacation) or are to destinations you are unfamiliar with, said Gary R. Johnson, who has run the travel agency Woodside Travel in Seattle for nearly 30 years. An adviser could help you decide, for instance, in which order to visit European cities based on local events and transportation options.

What can an adviser give me that a booking site can’t?

Travel advisers can help you research the best destinations, lodging, or activities for your particular group and travel goals, offering up specific advice that might be hard or time-consuming to find yourself. Those specializing in cruises might know which cabin to choose if you are prone to seasickness, while a safari planner could help you decide which park would be best for bird-watching or seeing specific animals, like rhinos.

Travel advisers typically have relationships with tour companies, hotels and cruise lines, sometimes through networks. Those connections can allow advisers to offer extra perks such as late checkout, free breakfast, airport transfers, a welcome basket or a credit to spend on a cruise ship.

“A good travel agent will be a better steward of your travel budget than you are,” said Guy Rubin, managing director of Imperial Tours , which arranges travel in China.

When bad weather or other circumstances disrupt your itinerary, travel advisers often have direct lines of communication with providers and can do the work of rebooking and changing plans, saving you time and stress.

OK, let’s say I need help. How do I find an adviser?

Networks like the American Society of Travel Advisors and Travel Leaders have websites that can help you start your search for a travel adviser by answering a few questions about your desired trip. Once you have a handful to choose from, get on the phone with them to talk about what they might do for you, how they charge and the level of service you can expect. Special trips can cost thousands of dollars, so it’s worth investing time up front, Mr. Rubin said.

Make sure to read over the travel agent’s reviews and any user-generated social content that mentions them, Dr. Anderson said. “If there is no external validation, that’s a red flag.”

How do advisers get paid, and how much will it cost me?

Advisers receive commission from suppliers, typically 10 to 15 percent of the price, when selling cruises, lodging and tours. They also sometimes charge travelers a planning fee, from a few hundred dollars, which may be credited to the final bill if the booking is completed, all the way up to tens of thousands of dollars annually for a luxury concierge travel planner they can call on all year. Mr. Johnson said that he charges a planning fee the first time he works with customers. If they return for other trips, he waives the fee.

Advisers may be tempted to sell you something that will earn them a higher commission, Dr. Anderson said. But, he points out, the same is true for the large online services, which promote hotels that pay them larger commissions. Travelers can ask advisers about specific commissions they receive or how they are affiliated with the products they are recommending, he said.

Sometimes a local tour company will package transportation, lodging and experiences for an adviser, who tacks on a percentage before passing it along to a client. But a bill that is not itemized can make it harder to make trade-offs — between a more expensive hotel and a special experience, for example. If pricing transparency is important to you, discuss it with the adviser up front.

How are A.I. and other technologies affecting travel advisers?

While new technologies are allowing do-it-yourselfers to create their own itineraries online based on individual preferences, and to type questions directly into travel websites, advisers are also taking advantage of those technologies to improve their services. Joan Roca, chief executive of the upscale travel planning company Essentialist said his team “uses technology to enhance the human touch,” employing artificial intelligence to choose options from a database of travel offerings selected by a human team. If a couple wants to take an after-dinner stroll, for example, Essentialist’s app will offer up ideas of where to go, based on what part of the city the travelers are in and conversations they’ve had with their travel adviser.

Southern California :  Skip the freeways to explore the back roads between Los Angeles and Los Olivos , a 100-mile route that meanders through mountains, canyons and star-studded enclaves.

Mongolia : Some young people, searching for less curated travel experiences, are flocking to the open spaces of this East Asian nation .

Romania :  Timisoara  may be the most noteworthy city you’ve probably never heard of , offering just enough for visitors to fill two or three days.

India: A writer fulfilled a lifelong dream of visiting Darjeeling, in the Himalayan foothills , taking in the tea gardens and riding a train through the hills.

Fantastic Team, would not use anyone else

Maldivian Island Luxury

This is our 5th holiday to the Maldives with Charter Travel and once again Danny has done everything possible to make the whole experience seamless. Nothing was too much trouble whether it was choosing which island paradise to visit this time, or advising better (direct) flights rather than having to go via somewhere else. Our Seaplane connection was so easy, we were met on arrival in Male and escorted to the seaplane terminal lounge then a short flight to the island and 12 days in paradise or rather Adaaran Meedhupparu to put a name to it. We have been travelling with Charter Travel since their beginning and have covered a fair amount of the globe with them, and hope to cover more in the future. Look out Danny - I’ll be on the phone……

Highly recommend Charter Travel. Highly competitive quote. Excellent customer service. It was great to be able to speak to the same person via a direct dial number rather than having to go through to a call centre. Our flights to Orlando with Virgin were very good, wonderful villa and very high standard car hire. All arranged through Charter Travel. This was my first experience using Charter Travel. When I walked in I had a list of requirements but no fixed destination! Claire was extremely helpful - destination Rome! I booked a family holiday through Charter Travel

I booked a family holiday through Charter Travel. Seven people across three generations to Florida for three weeks. The whole trip went like clockwork. After attending high street travel agents and large travel companies online I found the smaller brokers could offer a more suitable tailor-made package. I had quotes from half a dozen all within the same price bracket but Charter travel were very thorough and honest. All the variables we needed were arranged without any hassle. Any questions we had after booking were answered immediately. The villa was excellent, couldn't fault it. Great location. Hire car was nearly new and from a major chain. All tickets were provided and the package was amazing. Linda at Charter Travel - fantastic

Linda at Charter Travel is absolutely fantastic. Her in-depth knowledge of Hawaii is second to none, and organised a fantastic holiday for my wife and me, on the islands of O’ahu and The Big Island. This included accommodation and a hire car. Linda also recommended dozens of places to visit, and was able to provide us with amazing photos, websites, and all sorts of useful pre-departure tips. excellent met my every request with options

Every couple of years we decide to go long haul with various destinations. This year decided w.coast USA and Maui and Oahu. Like to be offered lots of choice of hotels and have very specific flight needs ( both tall people) . Charter Travel trip to Hawaii Islands

First time with Charter Travel and simply a great experience from start to finish. Linda was our primary contact and she was lovely, extremely helpful and knowledgeable about all things Hawaii. Trust is earned, not given in my opinion and our trust has certainly been earned now. Linda worked with us to create the ideal vacation to the islands based on our preferences and the unfortunate events of the Maui wildfires introduced a last minute change which was handled brilliantly. Back office support was also excellent with all aspects of the trip perfectly booked and communicated, which made the entire trip stress free and enjoyable. This will not be our only trip to Hawaii as there is so much to see and do and each island is entirely different and we will certainly be working with Linda and team at Charter Travel to book the next one. First Class Service

Contacted Charter after a friend recommended them and I'm so glad we did. One point of contact, Andy, who put together a great Florida villa holiday for my extended family of 8. Andy always returned calls, was open and honest throughout and made the whole process easy. He was informative and a pleasure to deal with. It was made clear to me the terms of the booking required bank transfer rather than credit card but as he saved me in excess of £3K for a similar package from a different Travel Agency (Hays), I can live with that. Those worried about protection should note that you get Section 75 protection on the full amount if you pay a minimum of £100 by card and Andy happily accepted a deposit by credit card. Happy Days!!

Amazing & easy experience!

Myself and my new husband booked our honeymoon using charter travel following a recommendation. From the get go, Peter was great to communicate with and contacted me via telephone to see exactly what we wanted/duration and also budget. Our honeymoon

Great service, highly recommended

We got married in Mexico in May of 2023 and managed the travel booking through Charter Travel. We put a number of people through Charter on the booking totalling around 38 people. All 38 got upgrades and premium service and we were upgraded to one of the best rooms in the hotel which was a really nice touch. We then flew onto other locations and although had some issues with the flights, Peter managed to sort everything along the way and kept us well informed. Peter also happened to be on location during the time of our wedding so met him in person I've just mesaged them again as we're looking to book another trip. Would highly recommend.

Florida 2 centre holiday

Covid delayed Orlando trip

Well what can I say.......initially we booked our Orlando holiday for 2020, then the world went mad, covid, personal family ill health, you name it we had it. Leah at Charter Travel was amazing, totally understood our situation and realised the importance of making sure the originally planned trip suited our new arrangements. So in July this year we finally made with a few additional family members. Throughout the whole process of changes Leah offered excellent advice and despite a few hiccups with car hire and accomodation, nothing was too much trouble for them. A solution was always found. Whilst out in Orlando, there were a few issues with the accommodation but Sandra personally dealt with these. We simply could not have asked for better assistance. Holiday of a Lifetime

In this day and age we do so much online that sometimes it's difficult to remember the benefit of dealing with real people. My online research for a honeymoon in Hawaii was bringing up more questions than answers until I came across Linda and Charter Travel. The confidence of dealing with an individual and a business with five star reviews for their knowledge and service easily outweighs any marginal benefit from just searching for the cheapest price. Fantastic Team, would not use anyone else

I have been using Charter travel for many years and as always the booking experience with Danny was perfect. A quick email followed by phone call and all sorted, this is my 3rd booking this year with them. i use Charter for Florida trips but have also used on a special tour of Vietnam earlier this year....the itinerary along with vouchers were perfect and the holiday including several internal flights went like clockwork.

Maldivian Island Luxury

This is our 5th holiday to the Maldives with Charter Travel and once again Danny has done everything possible to make the whole experience seamless. Nothing was too much trouble whether it was choosing which island paradise to visit this time, or advising better (direct) flights rather than having to go via somewhere else. Our Seaplane connection was so easy, we were met on arrival in Male and escorted to the seaplane terminal lounge then a short flight to the island and 12 days in paradise or rather Adaaran Meedhupparu to put a name to it. We have been travelling with Charter Travel since their beginning and have covered a fair amount of the globe with them, and hope to cover more in the future. Look out Danny - I’ll be on the phone……

Highly recommend Charter Travel

Highly recommend Charter Travel. Highly competitive quote. Excellent customer service. It was great to be able to speak to the same person via a direct dial number rather than having to go through to a call centre. Our flights to Orlando with Virgin were very good, wonderful villa and very high standard car hire. All arranged through Charter Travel. Our consultant was Kate who was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. When we had a minor issue with our villa, Kate immediately made arrangements for someone to come and fix the problem. Would boon with them again.

This was my first experience using Charter Travel. When I walked in I had a list of requirements but no fixed destination! Claire was extremely helpful - destination Rome! The hotel was beautiful and located in an area with many restaurants that Romans travel too, the food was delicious! We were also able to walk to all the top attractions which helped to walk off the calories! Claire fulfilled my wish list leading to a perfect break. I booked a family holiday through Charter Travel

I booked a family holiday through Charter Travel. Seven people across three generations to Florida for three weeks. The whole trip went like clockwork. After attending high street travel agents and large travel companies online I found the smaller brokers could offer a more suitable tailor-made package. I had quotes from half a dozen all within the same price bracket but Charter travel were very thorough and honest. All the variables we needed were arranged without any hassle. Any questions we had after booking were answered immediately. The villa was excellent, couldn't fault it. Great location. Hire car was nearly new and from a major chain. All tickets were provided and the package was amazing. The Security deposit was returned with 48 hours of returning home I very rarely write reviews but if you are planning a big trip.....Charter travel are the people to talk to. Alec Herbert Plymouth

An amazing booking experience!

An amazing experience with Claire booking my trip to South Korea, I have been in touch with Claire for a few months and she has been nothing but helpful and friendly even when going back and forth with many dates and flights! She was so kind and patient throughout the whole booking process. Every detail was explained to me about booking and nothing was left unanswered when I had a questions. Linda at Charter Travel - fantastic

Linda at Charter Travel is absolutely fantastic. Her in-depth knowledge of Hawaii is second to none, and organised a fantastic holiday for my wife and me, on the islands of O’ahu and The Big Island. This included accommodation and a hire car. Linda also recommended dozens of places to visit, and was able to provide us with amazing photos, websites, and all sorts of useful pre-departure tips. My wife and I hope to return to Hawaii one day, and if we do, then we will definitely seek advice from Linda.

excellent met my every request with options

Every couple of years we decide to go long haul with various destinations. This year decided w.coast USA and Maui and Oahu. Like to be offered lots of choice of hotels and have very specific flight needs ( both tall people) . Well , Linda just blew us away with her choices and knowledge, not to mention putting up with my continuous( and i mean continuous) changes and questions - but that's what you want when you book something like this, we wanted it to suit what we wanted and she met the challenge . i would recommend Linda and charter without question and next time watch out Linda we will be back with another challenge

Charter Travel trip to Hawaii Islands

First time with Charter Travel and simply a great experience from start to finish. Linda was our primary contact and she was lovely, extremely helpful and knowledgeable about all things Hawaii. Trust is earned, not given in my opinion and our trust has certainly been earned now. Linda worked with us to create the ideal vacation to the islands based on our preferences and the unfortunate events of the Maui wildfires introduced a last minute change which was handled brilliantly. Back office support was also excellent with all aspects of the trip perfectly booked and communicated, which made the entire trip stress free and enjoyable. This will not be our only trip to Hawaii as there is so much to see and do and each island is entirely different and we will certainly be working with Linda and team at Charter Travel to book the next one. Thanks to the team for all the hard work.
