I saw her last night in San Antonio, TX, it was my daughter first concert, and she did not disappoint. She is amazing live! Well worth the money spent. From the settings to the chorography her team did a fantastic job. The concert kept us on our feet the entire time. I will defiantly go see her again when she returns.

Truly amazing! Her performance was full of heaps of energy and soul. A beautiful mixture of singing, dancing and a quick preview of her of her acrobatic skills! One of the best musicians to see in concert. Would be darn near impossible to not sway and jump when she's on stage. I've waited so long to see her and she did not disappoint. Really hope to see SZA in London more!!!

Amazing show! Sza sounded amazing! She looked like she was having an awesome time while performing and the crowd loved her. The energy in the venue was hella dope! At one point she instructed security to find any cases of water around to pass out to the people on the floor, saying "get the cases from the tour bus." I thought that was super cool of her.

It’s time to star putting plans in place for next year’s festival season, because organizers are starting to reveal lineups: Today (November 21), the Primavera Sound Barcelona lineup for 2024 was unveiled.

The fest takes place from May 29 to June 2 and headlining this year’s lineup are Lana Del Rey , Pulp, SZA , Disclosure, FKA Twigs, Justice, Mitski , The National, Phoenix, PJ Harvey, and Vampire Weekend.

Elsewhere on the poster are Arca, Bikini Kill, Charli XCX, Clipse, Deftones, Jai Paul, Kim Petras, Omar Apollo, Troye Sivan, 070 Shake, Amyl And The Sniffers, BadBadNotGood, Ethel Cain, Faye Webster, Freddie Gibbs & Madlib, Romy, Yo La Tengo, The Armed, Billy Woods, Blonde Redhead, Dogstar (Keanu Reeves’ band), Dorian Electra, Lambchop, The Lemon Twigs, Mount Kimbie, Royel Otis, Tirzah, Yeule, American Football, Hannah Diamond, Joanna Sternberg, Julie Byrne, Mannequin Pussy, Militarie Gun, Ratboys, Slow Pulp, and others.

Lana Del Rey , Pulp and SZA are among the headlining acts that will be appearing at next year’s Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona , which will take place again at the Parc del Fòrum from 30 May to 2 June 2024 .

Review | The SOS Tour: S ZA O nstage is S ensational

The dynamic songstress sets the bar higher with a live show as meticulously crafted as her music

I’m not sure if I really knew what it meant to have my undivided attention captured for an hour and a half straight until I watched a recent show. And even before then, in the hour before entering said show, hordes of people were already beguiled: shifting crowds clawing to get inside, excited fans running out of lines with handfuls of shirts, displays being torn down prematurely as merch was selling out before the show even began. So what was the wizard-like force hypnotizing these pawns into a descension of madness?

It was a little Grammy Award winning (and Academy Award nominated) alternative R&B artist who goes by the stage name SZA. Her music sincerely combines soul, hip hop, indie rock, and R&B, with lyrics exploring the darkest parts of our brain. SZA isn’t afraid to tackle the parts of us that scrutinize the tiniest moments that lead to relational demise, and takes the aspects we hate yet need to understand and makes them sound beautiful with expertly imperfect instrumental choices that elevate polished pop sounds.

She recently marked a whopping ten weeks at the top of the chart with her latest album, SOS. Celebrating its release on her SOS Tour this year, SZA created a stadium show that’s her biggest and brightest yet. Within the confines of a stadium, she makes you feel like she’s talking right to you. No space is unused, with extra stages on the main stage, a life-sized ship she dances across, and a giant flying boat that sets sail through the air to a lighthouse that shines onto the audience.

SZA’s set features an eclectic mix of her best songs. She starts the night with “PSA,” sitting on the edge of a ledge, in front of multiple screens with images of slow moving waves, just like her latest album cover. What ensues is a four act show with not a single dull moment. Highlights include her singing her hit “Drew Barrymore” sitting on the floor, “Shirt” with SZA and her backup dancers executing a perfect routine to a synchronized light show of water spurts, and “F2F,” simply due to its sheer melodic magnificence.

However, the best moment was in Act III, as SZA sailed across the sky in a lifeboat in a giant puffy dress, with beams of blue light right below her as she sailed atop it like the top of the sea. She sang the holy trinity of sadness — “Supermodel,” “Special,” and “Nobody Gets Me” — and each of these songs see her pen at her most powerful. “Supermodel” sees her confidently spitting out the words we’ve always wanted to say to an ex but never had the guts to say, where we admit they both were the perpetrator in making us doubt ourselves, but failed to realize we were a villain ourselves. Does that ultimately give us retroactive power despite being the first to realize we were cheated? “Special” is a personal favorite, talking about how one small decision of choosing the wrong person to give everything to can lead to being stripped of nothing, since it’s become theirs to take away. We can end up unwittingly becoming just as devoid as the con of a person we once loved. “Nobody Gets Me” is a ballad where SZA croons but her lyrics scream; “If I’m real, I deserve less, if I was you, I wouldn’t take me back…Nobody gets me, you do.” In five words, she begs all sorts of questions: what are you supposed to do when you’ve lost the one person you could have had the most magic with? Why couldn’t you hold onto it? What does life even look like after you know how love can feel?

As the show comes to a close, she sits atop the ledge again, bringing her iconography full circle. But this time, she’s in the sky. We’ve been dragged through the depths of the sea, as to be expected: dark, isolating, brutal. But now that she’s confronted that pain with us, she’s high up, sunlight peaking out from behind her. Lush clouds and stars appear, and she goes from wanting to give up and drown to flying into an incandescent sky. It’s indicative of how her vulnerability in her words can bring a beautiful show like this to life. The words “The End” are written across a final image of the night sky.

As the show comes to a close, the lights turn on and the stage and screens turn black. SZA pops out, smiling and waving in an all black outfit, blending back into the stage. She’s still the superstar with superhuman performing powers, oozing power and charisma, but just slightly more akin to the awkward girl she writes so candidly about in her songs that we resonate so deeply with. The proof is in the movement of the room; she can still turn the heads of an entire stadium of fans and bring them to a halt on the stairs as they somehow don’t trip over each other, enchanted. SZA beams, waving emphatically, doing her best to look at each and every person in the crowd. “Thank you! Thank you for coming at all. I love you!”

And they all cheer, one last time.

SZA Extends 2023 Tour Dates: Ticket Presale Code & On-Sale Info

SZA has added 2023 tour dates in conjunction with her newest album, SOS .

Thirty-two new concerts are set at large-scale venues across Europe and North America from June into October. RAYE will be the opening act for the Europe shows on select dates. The only other date on SZA's schedule is a festival performance at Hangout in Alabama.

SZA ’s SOS era isn’t a warning shot. Her first arena tour is a blaring alert, humbly juxtaposing “big d**k energy” and her return to the throne. Starring one of the few artists dominating R&B right now, the nearly two-hour experience is a literal live-action film —and arguably the most entrancing concert experience from a mainstream act in recent years.

SZA Secures Four Wins At 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards

With full choreography and varying set designs, the story of SOS unfolded. On a boardwalk, the budding actress performed “Seek & Destroy,” “Notice Me,” “Love Galore,” and “Broken Clocks” prior to mellowing out the crown with an interlude medley featuring “Blind,” “ Shirt ,” and a cover of Erykah Badu’s “Bag Lady.” SZA then welcomed the audience backstage as she rapped “Smoking On My Ex Pack” and changed outfits for the third time. The stage became a boat aptly named “S.O.S. from the CTRL Fishing Company.” While aboard, she interpolated older and newer hits including “Garden (Say It Like Dat),” “Low,” “All The Stars,” and “Drew Barrymore.” 

Figuratively riding a wave of commanding dominance with a massive anchor placed behind her, SZA jumped right into a slew of bangers like “SOS,” “ Kiss Me More ,” “Love Language,” “Snooze,” and “ Kill Bill .” The anchor represented impenetrable endurance while the waterfall that followed seemingly depicted a moment of clarity as she merged into “ I Hate U ” and “The Weekend.” As the dawn of a new day surfaced over the horizon and eventually bled into an array of stars illuminating the night sky, it signaled the “Good Days” ahead, a heartwarming conclusion to the show.

SZA birthed a new rendering of herself with her sophomore ascent without apology or explanation. The evidence is all there; no special guests appeared throughout the night and the overall tour amassed an estimated $34.5 million. SOS is currently certified double-platinum and spent 10 nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Selling out her 17-city arena debut was something that wasn’t once fathomable to the New Jersey-bred singer. ​​”I was literally scared to even try,” she explained on Instagram , but we’re glad she saw the freedom on the other side of her fears.

From a once fragile, lost twenty-something on CTRL to a now steadfast, resolute thirty-something teacher and student, the fluid narrative on the SOS tour exposes the art of not giving a f**k and how beautiful the journey back to yourself can be. What a good day to live rent-free in our minds.

Catch SZA do it all again later this year as the SOS Tour returns for its extended run in Europe this June and in the U.S. this September.

SZA recently closed out her highly successful “SOS Tour” just last month. The 18-date trek began on Feb. 21 and ran through March 23, bringing her relatable hits to arenas all across the country. According to figures reported to Billboard Boxscore last week, the tour grossed $34.5 million and sold a whopping 238,000 tickets, averaging $1.9 million and 12,812 tickets per night.

However, the fun’s not over yet. Today (April 11), the St. Louis-born star officially announced she will be heading across the pond for the second leg of the tour. The European dates kick off on June 1 in Amsterdam at Ziggo Dome, and include stops in Paris, Berlin, London, and more before wrapping up in Dublin at 3Arena on June 21. She will be joined by RAYE on select dates.

Back in December 2022, the “Go Gina” singer unleashed her highly anticipated SOS album . Equipped with 23 records, the sophomore LP included appearances from Don Toliver, Phoebe Bridgers, Travis Scott, and the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard. Preceding the release were well-received singles like “Shirt,” “I Hate U,” and “Good Days.” SOS quickly grabbed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 thanks to the 125,000 album-equivalent units sold. She stayed on top of the list for 10 consecutive weeks.

SOS followed SZA’s widely loved 2017 debut, Ctrl , a 14-song project with appearances from Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar, Justin Timberlake, James Fauntleroy, Isaiah Rashad, and plenty more. Ctrl debuted on the Billboard 200 at No. 3 and has since gone triple Platinum.

SZA Announces 2023 North American Arena Tour

SZA is embarking on her first arena tour next year in support of her new album, SOS . Omar Apollo will join her on the North American run, and tickets go on sale Friday, December 16 at noon Eastern. Find the dates below.

After performing “ Shirt ” and debuting “ Blind ” on Saturday Night Live at the beginning of December, SZA revealed that her record would be out less than a week later. SOS arrived more than five years after SZA’s 2017 debut, Ctrl . She shared a new video for “ Nobody Gets Me ” on the day of the album’s release.

Grammy-award-winning music trendsetter and icon SZA will continue her touring trek with four shows at The O2 this June. She’ll be joined by British pop sensation RAYE.

The 2023 tour follows SZA’s hugely successful sophomore album, SOS, which was released in December and earned the superstar the record for the largest streaming week for an R&B album in the United States. The album also claimed ten non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart - the most among albums by women in seven years. During the first run of the S.O.S. Tour earlier this year, SZA gave unforgettable performances night after night. The platinum recording artist performed  classics like “Love Galore” and “The Weekend” in addition to newer mega-hits such as “Kill Bill,” and “Shirt.” Fans also got to experience special performances from a number of surprise guests including Phoebe Bridgers, Cardi B, Summer Walker, Lizzo and more.

The S.O.S. Tour marked SZA’s first-ever arena tour and earned the superstar endless praise, with Rolling Stone noting that “SZA lives up to all the anticipation” on opening night. The New York Times called her Madison Square Garden headlining debut “vigorous, confident, theatrical and intimate — the sort of show that manages the rare trick of feeling both vibrantly communicative and also protectively insular,” while Billboard proclaimed that the performance “delivered a message that she’s truly made a next-level step in her career.”

Born in St. Louis and raised in Maplewood, NJ, genre-defying, and GRAMMY Award winning recording artist SZA released her major label debut album Ctrl (TDE/RCA) in 2017. Revered for its raw and honest lyrics, it landed at No. 1 on Billboard’s R&B Albums chart, No. 2 on the R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart and No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart, according to Nielsen Music. The now RIAA-certified 3xPlatinum album received five Grammy nominations in 2018 and more than half the songs on Ctrl are currently certified multi-Platinum and Gold. Ctrl remains on the Billboard 200 chart since its release in 2017 and holds the record for the longest run for any Black female artist’s debut album. In 2022 alone it sold over 600,000 units and is the 10th best-selling female album this year in the country and 50th best-selling album in 2022 overall.

To close out the trying year of 2020, SZA gifted fans on Christmas Day with the hopeful track “Good Days.” Grammy-nominated for Best R&B Song, the single quickly became SZA’s greatest gaining solo single release, peaking at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and marking her first time in the chart’s top ten as the main artist. December 2021, SZA scored her second lead artist top 10 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart with the official release of “I Hate U,” which debuted at #7. The song also entered at #1 on both Spotify and Apple Music US charts and broke the record for the most streamed R&B song by a female artist on Apple Music in its first week.  Fan favorite “Shirt” has garnered over 60 million streams globally since its release in October.

On December 9, 2022, SZA released her long-awaited sophomore album SOS.  Instantly and universally met with acclaim, SOS debuted and claimed ten non-consecutive weeks at #1 on the Billboard 200, the longest run for an album by a woman in seven years. Standout track “Kill Bill” is RIAA-certified 3x Platinum and earned the #1 spot on the Billboard Global 200 chart and several Apple Music and Spotify charts globally. Currently RIAA-certified 2x Platinum, SOS includes features by Travis Scott, Don Toliver, Phoebe Bridgers and Ol’ Dirty Bastard; with production by Ctrl hitmaking collaborators ThankGod4Cody and Carter Lang, alongside Jeff Bhasker, Rob Bisel, Benny Blanco, Kenny “Babyface'' Edmonds, Emile Haynie, Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, Jay Versace, and more.

To this day, SZA continues to set the standard on creativity and songwriting, while shattering records with over 10 billion streams worldwide across all platforms. SZA has won various awards since the release of Ctrl including a 2022 GRAMMY Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Kiss Me More” with Doja Cat, Billboard Music Awards’ Top R&B Female Artist, BET Awards’ Best New Artist, BET Soul Train Awards’ Best R&B/Soul Female Artist and Best New Artist, MTV Video Music Awards’ Best Visual Effects for the “All The Stars'' with Kendrick Lamar, and NAACP Image Awards’ Outstanding New Artist. In 2019, she won NAACP Image Awards’ Outstanding Duo or Group for “All The Stars” with Kendrick Lamar and Outstanding Soundtrack/Compilation for the Black Panther Soundtrack. SZA also received Billboard’s 2019 Women in Music Rule Breaker award. More recently, SZA was crowned the 2023 Woman of the Year at the Billboard’s Women in Music Awards and won iHeart Radio Music Awards for R&B Artist of the Year and R&B Song of the Year for “I Hate U.”
