Big Time Rush are a multihyphenate pop phenomenon. Since the premiere of their popular eponymous Nickelodeon series in 2009, Kendall Schmidt, Carlos PenaVega, James Maslow, and Logan Henderson have become global superstars. The group has released four studio albums, including their 2010 debut, BTR , which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. After becoming an overnight sensation in 2009 and starring in their own musical comedy (2012’s Big Time Movie ), BTR went on hiatus in 2013, then reunited eight years later for a series of concerts and new music. Today, BTR are a global touring force, and have sold out arenas worldwide.

Top tier performers.

In short, they sing perfectly, super interactive, the choreography is awesome, and they acknowledge the love their fan base has for them. Kind kind people, I even met Carlos at the gym just a few hours before one of their concerts! Genuinely kind, will be attending for a 3rd time whenever they come back!

Big Time Rush THE FOREVER TOUR2022 Dates:

*denotes dates with Dixie D’Amelio

ABOUT BIG TIME RUSH: Big Time Rush became an overnight sensation in November 2009 when the scripted TV show of the same name launched on Nickelodeon. The show focused on the Hollywood adventures of four hockey players from Minnesota after they were selected to form a boy band. The show a huge success and later, Carlos, Kendall, James, and Logan came to life as a band off the screen releasing three full length albums and performing across the globe. As the show concluded in July 2013 and after four years of recording music and touring as a band, they went their separate ways but remained close friends through the years.   After 7 years, in an effort to bring joy to their fans during quarantine around the world, the members of Big Time Rush decided to appear together as a group to send a message of love and togetherness. This was soon followed by a socially distant performance of an acoustic version of their smash hit, “Worldwide”. These appearances resulted in hysteria amongst their fans and in the media, followed by BTR receiving 10+ million streams in 2020 alone. Four seasons of the TV show were added last to Netflix in March 2021 and have appeared in the Netflix “Top 10” trending titles.   The band finished off 2021 with a performance at iHeartRadio Jingle Ball in Philadelphia as well as 2 sold out shows in Chicago and NYC, capping it off with the release of their first single in 8 years, “Call It Like I See It”, on Dec. 13th. Stay tuned for big things to come because Big Time Rush is back.

Big Time Rush  became an overnight sensation in 2009 from the launch of the Nickelodeon television series  Big Time Rush . The show was a huge success and catapulted the group into real-life stardom, as they went on to release 3 studio albums and performed across the globe, including five tours from 2011 to 2014. In June 2020, the band held a surprise virtual reunion to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of their smash hit “Worldwide,” resulting in mass hysteria amongst their fans and in the media. In March 2021, all four seasons of Nickelodeon’s  Big Time Rush  were added to Netflix and the band went viral once again, increasing fan demand for an official reunion. Soon after, the band announced they would come together for two special live shows in New York and Chicago, both of which sold-out in a matter of minutes, blowing expectations out of the water and proving the power of the band’s devoted fandom. 2022 saw their North American Forever Tour sell out and the band release hit singles “Honey,” “Fall” and “Not Giving You Up.” 2023 promises to be another massive year for the band and fans can expect more news from Big Time Rush soon.

Original line up back together, Big Time Rush brings Forever Tour to Darien Lake

After an eight-year break, the boy band Big Time Rush is back with all four original members  -- Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow, Logan Henderson and Carlos PenaVega -- on board, with three new singles added to their three-album catalog and a major tour underway.

In returning to the music scene, Henderson, Maslow, PenaVega and Schmidt plan to be more involved in all aspects of Big Time Rush’s career. Where Nickelodeon (which ran four seasons of the group’s television series, “Big Time Rush”) and Columbia Records gave the group plenty of resources for promotion first time around, Big Time Rush is now an independent operation. Nevertheless, Schmidt reported that ticket sales for the Forever tour have been strong.

“I think we’re one of the few independent artists who’s able to do a nationwide tour that’s doing as well, and we might be one of the only ones,” Schmidt said during a Zoom interview with all four band members. “We’re doing our music independently, we’re doing this tour independently…It’s really exciting because we were always into this vision of wanting to be the creative force behind (the group), but now we actually get the chance to do that. What you’re seeing is 100 percent (us).”

Big Time Rush Forever Tour is set for 8 p.m. July 3 at Darien Lake Amphitheater at Six Flags Darien Lake Theme Park.

If things go as planned, fans will be seeing and hearing Big Time Rush for years to come.

“This is a reunion tour, but it certainly isn’t just one reunion tour,” Maslow said. “We plan on continuing to do our music and continuing to tour and continuing to grow. The sky’s the limit.”

As for the live show, it will be bigger and better than anything the four singers have done before, featuring a more elaborate stage set with five levels and a more cohesive presentation.

“I feel like this go-around we have the most put-together show we’ve ever had,” PenaVega said. “Things flow better, there’s not a lot of breaks in between songs. There are like a lot of transition pieces, and it really feels like one big solid show. Before they were great shows, but it was a little more free form. I think this is more polished.”

Big Time Rush spoke to Elite Daily in an exclusive interview about their ongoing 'Forever Tour.'

Big Time Rush Is Feeling The Rush Again

Now touring with Dixie D’Amelio, the group is happy with their place in pop.

Big Time Rush forgot about the screams that coincide with boy band mega-fame. “It was deafening. It was so loud,” Carlos PenaVega tells Elite Daily of the group’s first show back in eight years. “I didn't think it was going to [be like that].”

On June 23, Carlos, Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow, and Logan Henderson took the stage together for their first headlining show in nearly a decade at the MGM National Harbor outside of Washington, D.C.. It was their first of 41 shows part of the ongoing Forever Tour, which is an ironic title considering there was a moment where Big Time Rush was done.

The band formed and first rose to fame while starring on the Nickelodeon teen TV series Big Time Rush , which ran from 2009 to 2013. They released three albums in three years before taking an extended hiatus in 2014 to focus on their solo careers.

In 2021, they reunited to release “Call It Like I See It.” The group has since released four more songs, including “Honey” in June. The music video for the sticky-sweet new song dropped on July 18, and it’s an ode to the first half of their summer back on tour.

Nostalgia for the 2010s is high with fellow boy banders The Jonas Brothers and 5 Seconds of Summer regularly performing together again, while franchises like Twilight and The Hunger Games are trending once more. So it couldn’t be more fitting for Big Time Rush to return; however, their comeback is not your traditional boy band reunion tour.

Much like their tour name suggests, the band says they’re in it for the long haul and likely won’t stop performing after their tour wraps on Aug. 20 in Concord, California. Their goal is to eventually take the Forever Tour abroad. “We literally just plan on touring forever. We're not going to age, [and] we're not going to go away,” Carlos says, often speaking for the group. “We're [not] going to just do something and be done. It's very much a comeback tour.”

They’ve taken inspiration from New Kids On The Block, another band that spent decades releasing and performing new music. “Their performances, their setups, how they basically went back, took their brand and did it their way, that's been inspirational to us because we're doing a very similar thing,” Carlos says.

Despite the years-long break, the band says they quickly fell back into a groove on stage. Still, Logan says he felt jittery the first night of their tour. “The first three or four songs, I think it was like, ‘Oh crap, we have an audience,’” he says.

Some of those audience members likely attended a Big Time Rush show before. “We had some grown men with vintage, Big Time Rush T-shirts just jamming along, holding a beer,” Carlos says.

What was somewhat surprising to the band is they’ve garnered a new generation of fans, including Carlos’ three children, who were in attendance on opening night. “[It was] super special because they've never seen me do anything like that,” he says. “I have videos from somebody filming behind them, and they're just dancing along.” Though some of the younger fans might have also been there to see Big Time Rush’s supporting act: pop star and TikTok legend Dixie D’Amelio .

After running into Dixie several times on iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball tour last year, the band asked her if she’d be interested in opening for them on tour. To their surprise, she said yes. “She's doing something that's really different. I totally respect the fact that she's able to get out of her comfort zone and try something new and succeed doing it,” Carlos says, noting they’re “grateful” to have her on tour.

While some bands struggle with finding their footing after years away, Big Time Rush is embracing the hustle once again. “It's how are we better than what we were before? How do we keep on improving?” James says of their mentality this time around. “Ultimately, we're only in competition with ourselves.”

Part of their collective ethos is having priorities outside of the band. “It's not like this is our one and only focus and we're going to just always be together,” Carlos says. “We all go do stuff, we have families, and then we come together to make music.”

Based on those deafening screams from hype crowds, it seems Big Time Rush’s philosophy – and music — might just be working. “The fans all know the lyrics,” Carlos says. “Some of them even better than we do.” What more could the band want?

“The story behind the song isn’t very complicated,” the band says of the new single. “To put it simply, we can’t get enough. Can’t get enough of making new music and can’t get enough of performing for everyone. We are influenced by many different artists, styles, and decades and “Can’t Get Enough” is a nod to the disco era. We are so excited for everyone to hear the song and everything else we’ve been working on. The Can’t Get Enough Tour is going to be a wild ride. Since our first shows back in 2021, we decided this isn’t a reunion. This is a comeback. The Can’t Get Enough Tour is going to be bigger than ever. We are pushing ourselves to make the best show possible so that every night is truly special. This is going to be a tour you do not want to miss.”

Big Time Rush will hit the road for the Can’t Get Enough Tour June 22nd along with special guests, openers Jax and Max. Multi-platinum pop star Max has amassed more than 1.5 billion streams and has released a number of multi-platinum songs. Singer-songwriter and TikTok star Jax, who won iHeartRadio’s TikTok Songwriter of the year award in 2022, has made waves with her body-positive anthem “Victoria’s Secret” which debuted on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.

The summer tour follows Big Time Rush’s massive “Forever Tour” which saw the band play 45 shows across North America to rave reviews including a sold-out show at New York City’s iconic Madison Square Garden Arena that moved 12,531 tickets and grossed $1,109,126.

Big Time Rush became a sensation in 2009 from the launch of the Nickelodeon television series “Big Time Rush” The show catapulted the group into real-life stardom, as they went on to release three studio albums and performed across the globe, including five tours from 2011 to 2014.

In June 2020, the band held a surprise virtual reunion to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of their smash hit “Worldwide.” The following March, all four seasons of Nickelodeon’s “Big Time Rush” were added to Netflix and the band went viral once again, increasing fan demand for an official reunion.

Soon after, the band announced they would come together for two special live shows in New York and Chicago, both of which sold out in a matter of minutes, blowing expectations out of the water and proving the power of the band’s devoted fandom.

With the success of their North American “Forever Tour” – averaging 7,192 tickets per show and $271,238 gross as reported to Pollstar – 2023 promises to be another massive year for the band and fans can expect more news from Big Time Rush soon.
