chicco travel stroller reviews

With so many strollers on the market, it’s easy for new parents to be seduced by fancy, ultra-designed imports, which is what I did with my first stroller. It was super-stylish but in the end it turned out to be neither very comfortable nor durable, and after my first daughter essentially trashed it after only one year, I realized I had thrown a whole lot of money out the window. So when I considered my next stroller, although my checklist still included stylish, I knew I needed much more than that. A good stroller needs to provide a smooth ride so your child will actually sleep; it must be durable (and by that I really mean stain resistant and/or has pieces that can be removed and washed); it must be light enough to push, and as easy as possible to collapse and fold up. The Chicco Bravo checks all those boxes.

chicco travel stroller reviews

The Bravo has a plush, padded seat that reclines in multiple positions, including almost fully flat, front-swivel wheels that make it super-easy to steer, and the fabric and frame are both sleek and stain resistant. I also love the large basket. You can access it from both the front and the back of the stroller, and even when you fill it all the way up, it still accommodates an almost fully reclined seat, so baby can nap on the way back from a grocery store trip where you’ve bought more than just a quart of milk. Another superb feature is the one-hand fold system. There are no latches, buttons or anything to unfasten—meaning you really can do it with just one hand in a few seconds flat. You simply lift a little flap on the seat, pull up on the handle that’s underneath, and the whole stroller folds in half. Thanks to a mechanism built into the fold, the wheels lock in place when the stroller is folded until you’re ready to use it again. It stands on its own for storage or you can carry the whole thing with the handle on top (almost like a suitcase). And when folded, the Bravo fits nicely in the back of my car, which actually has a smallish trunk.

chicco travel stroller reviews

While you can buy just the stroller, it’s also sold as a complete 3-in-1 travel system, which is what it’s really designed for. If you purchase the system, it includes the Chicco KeyFit 30 infant car seat and base. The stroller seat and canopy easily come off so you can attach an adapter and use the frame to click in the car seat when baby is an infant. As baby gets a bit bigger and likes to sit up in the stroller, you can alternate between using the car seat (with the adapter) and the stroller seat. And lastly, when baby outgrows the car seat, the Bravo transitions again into a full-featured stroller you can use with children up to 50 pounds. The stroller weighs 23 pounds, which is about average—other popular travel system strollers range anywhere from 16.5 to 28 pounds.

I was only slightly disappointed with a few features. First, the canopy is a little too short for my taste, and the peekaboo window on the top is mesh, so if you get stuck in a rainstorm your kiddo is definitely getting wet. But the canopy does zip off completely, which would make it even easier to accommodate an older, taller child. It also doesn’t come with a snack tray, which lots of other strollers do. You have to buy it separately ($30).

Performance

It took me less than five minutes to assemble the stroller out of the box. I am not a DIY type and will dissolve into tears if I have to assemble more than a collapsible basket from IKEA, but this was so easy, even for me—there are only four steps in the instruction booklet. Once it was up, my 2-and-a-half-year-old hopped right in for a trip to the park. She is in the 97th percentile for height in her age group, but she was still comfortable in the seat, and the five-point harness was easy to adjust. She had plenty of room above her head, and although her feet did reach the step below the seat pan, it didn’t seem to bug her. We played around with the reclining seat and she loved that feature. The handlebar was easy to adjust to a height that I liked. It has three different positions and you just push in on both side buttons to release the handle and then rotate it up or down to adjust it where you want it. And the tray on the handle has two cup holders (room for both water bottles—yay!) as well as a small space in the middle for a cell phone and keys. And even though we have pretty uneven sidewalks in my neighborhood, the ride was nice and smooth thanks to the all-wheel suspension.

chicco travel stroller reviews

I took the Chicco Bravo to pick up my 4-and-a-half-year-old from day camp. She is also tall for her age, but she jumped in and looked quite comfortable, which she confirmed with a chirpy, “I do want to ride in this one, mom!” She’s at the age where she’s growing out of riding (that’s just for babies, right?) and would prefer to walk, but she was happy and relaxed during the 10-minute walk home.

We also took it to our local children’s museum, and once again the basket easily held everything (lunch boxes, diaper bag, overpriced souvenirs, etc.). My older girl actually pushed her little sister around, and at the end of our visit, my little one even sat on the big one’s lap for a bit. Chicco would never suggest doing this (their official limit on this model is 50 pounds and my girls together are at least 60), but sometimes you do what you’ve gotta do, right? I was just thrilled to be able to push them both to the car without any (extra) whining and complaining.

chicco travel stroller reviews

With two girls I have enough bright colors in my world from just their clothes and dolls, so when it comes to baby gear and other items I prefer neutral colors. I chose the Bravo in Ombra, a subtle gray-and-black pattern that I thought was sophisticated and had a unisex look. (It also comes in teal, emerald, coal and one other neutral pattern.) Plus, it definitely hides stains and scuffs, although the fabric is very easy to wipe clean, as I learned firsthand after a serious Goldfish debacle and a drippy ice cream cone (why does the ice cream lady always offer my toddler a cone?). The silver stroller frame also pairs well with the Ombra-colored seat and canopy.

I would recommend this stroller to any parents with young toddlers, or new parents with infants. The sleek design makes it visually competitive with higher-end strollers on the market, and the one-hand folding system is a major bonus for any sleep-deprived mom or dad. Overall, it’s a great value for a stroller that’s both well-designed and easy to use.

Chicco Bravo Trio Travel System Review

A convenient and chic travel system supporting your growing, on-the-go family.

Our verdict on the Chicco Bravo Trio Stroller

The Chicco Bravo Trio Travel system consists of a well-designed car seat and a slim stroller. They’re safe, they look good, and they work well together. Combined, this package deal costs slightly more than other mid-range strollers in our ranking. However, since you don’t have to buy another car seat , is the cost justified?

Additionally, this is a stroller which claims to be able to support your baby from day one through toddlerhood . Is it possible to make one purchase – and that’s it – for your baby’s travel needs? Ever?

Chicco is an Italian brand that seeks to prioritize style along with performance. To that end, I did pay attention to the sophisticated lines exhibited in the Bravo Trio. It’s certainly an aesthetically pleasing stroller. I particularly like the rounded lines of the canopy on both the car seat and the stroller ; and the fashion fabrics in subtle patterns and gorgeous colorways definitely don’t hurt!

Beyond mere looks, however, the Chicco team wants to ensure that every family has the basic tools they need for everyday life. Because of this, they’ve equipped the Bravo Trio with large sun shades, a parent organizer (with two deep cup holders!), an adjustable harness , and more.

If you’re not in the market for an entire travel system, check out the Kolcraft Cloud Plus – a budget-friendly stroller with lots of great features. For a stroller with a more premium feel, our favorite is the UPPAbaby Cruz V2 , which has thoughtfully designed upgraded accents.

Our hands-on review of the Chicco Bravo Trio

chicco bravo trio stroller review car seat - Baby Gear Essentials

A Travel System that’s Ready to Support Your Family

When you’re starting to put together the tools and treasures that will help you adjust to your life as a parent, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. You might have many things you need to purchase. Because having a new little one to support can get expensive , fast, it’s good to know there are some brands that try to lighten the load.

With Chicco’s travel system, you may only have to buy one thing . Then, all of your transit needs with your new baby are taken care of! It sounds simple. As I began to go through the Chicco Bravo Trio features, assembly, and test strolls, I was interested to see if it stood up to this promise.

Putting It All Together

I was excited to open this box! Inside was everything promised in the instructional booklet: A frame, wheels, an axle, and several small pieces of hardware. While it didn’t come pre-assembled, as some other models do, this stroller only took about nine minutes to put together . I didn’t need any additional tools in order to do so.

After it was put together, I took a moment to note the materials and the weight. The wheels are plastic, foam-filled, and smooth. There is suspension on all four wheels , which gives this stroller the same gliding feeling as high-end strollers.

The Chicco Bravo Trio only weighs about 23 pounds, and folds easily. I especially like the fact that when this stroller folds, the wheels automatically turn inside – creating an even more streamlined silhouette.

The frame is strong, yet lightweight. The fabric is soft but durable. Overall, before I even took it on its first test stroll, I got the impression that this stroller seems made to last for a very long time.

Full of Intuitive and Useful Features

The Chicco Bravo Trio system has lots of features which are geared to make new parenthood simple. For example, there’s the fact that it does function as a full travel system. With one purchase, you have a carrier, an infant car seat , and an infant-and-toddler-friendly stroller.

The stroller has a one-hand fold, and stands easily to store. The entire frame of the car seat features a lining made of energy-absorbing foam. There’s also lots of plush padding to make sure your child is as comfortable as possible.

The stroller also has a rear-lined double-brake system, which ensures that you can take control immediately, if needed. (If you have nightmares about losing your stroller while going downhill, this is a very comforting feature .)

The canopy is adjustable; the seat has red indicators to let you know when it’s set up properly; the seat reclines, and the handles also adjust.

Clearly, this stroller is built to give you the control you need to best support your unique baby . With all that this travel system promises, I was very intrigued! And very ready, too, to take the Bravo Trio on its initial test stroll.

Initial Field Test

The all-wheel suspension really does make a difference. This stroller turns instantly. It floats over the ground. Its wheels were a little small and hard; they do seem specifically geared for concrete.

I tried taking them over grass and mulch, and quickly found that these are not all-terrain wheels . While they aren’t really made to go over rough terrain, they do well over city sidewalks.

One-handed test strolls didn’t go very far: This stroller is slim, but has enough heft that two hands are basically required . However, it’s narrow enough that I could fit easily between smaller aisles in my grocery, for example.

The brakes kick in instantly, which I appreciated. When it came time to break down the stroller, it did so easily – just one switch and it collapses in on itself very smoothly.

Baby Safety and Comfort

The Bravo Trio claims to support infants from day one onward. If used with the included car seat, the stroller can be used from infancy through toddlerhood.

I like that, if you click the car seat in, you have the option of simply strolling around with the car seat on top of the stroller frame. Or, you can pull the stroller sun shade up over the car seat as well. With the car seat shade and the stroller shade, your child has almost complete sun coverage .

This is perfect for sunny or rainy days! I’m not sure that I’ve seen any other brand with quite so comprehensive coverage – especially for an infant-friendly seat.

The Chicco KeyFit 30 , the car seat, is the overall best car seat of the year based on our tests. The base for the car seat is very easy to install in your car. The seat has a five-point harness as well as an infant insert to ensure your little one is cradled from day one .

The harness has adjustable shoulder heights; you won’t have to purchase a new stroller every time your child goes through a growth spurt.

The toddler seat has a three-point recline, which you can control easily from a standing position behind the stroller . (It’s just the push of a button – far easier than some of the straps and cinches I’ve seen with other models.) However, it doesn’t lie totally flat – you’ll have to use an infant seat for that. Both the seat and leg rests are softly padded.

The canopy is removable and adjustable. It isn’t intrinsically waterproof, and it doesn’t come imbued with UPF like I’ve seen in higher-end brands. You’ll want to make sure your child is covered, and that they have sunscreen when you go out. (It does come with a mesh peekaboo window, though – nice that you don’t have to walk around front to check on your child!)

Parent Experience

Finally, I was interested in checking out the included perks geared toward the parent experience. The Bravo Trio comes with a parent organizer tray and cup holders. (The cup holders are actually deep enough to hold my water bottle steady – I was very grateful for this, as I’ve seen other cup holders that aren’t much more than shallow bowls!)

The infant car seat is only 9.5 pounds, which makes it very easy to use as a carrier as well.

The stroller itself has an adjustable handlebar with three different positions. My husband and I have wildly differing heights, so this is definitely a feature that I find useful! The handlebar is also nicely cushioned, with lots of soft foam: Chicco has obviously thought of the parent’s comfort, as well as the child’s, and I like that!

There is a brake pedal on either side of the stroller, but you only need to engage one of them to lock the wheels. It’s nice to have an option on either side, so I can use whichever is closest.

Chicco Cheerio Stroller Review

Chicco Cheerio

‘I'm usually sceptical about easy-to-use baby products - but you really can fold this with your baby in your arms!'

One-handed fold mechanism

Extremely lightweight

Small basket

Why you can trust GoodtoKnow. Our experienced Consumer Editor & parent reviewers spend hours testing products to help you make the best choice. Find out how we test and review products.

Charlotte Duck

Amelia Jean Jones and her two-year-old daughter Olga put the Chicco Cheerio to the test to see how it stood up as a travel stroller against its competitors. In our buying guide on the best travel strollers , we singled it out for particular praise because it's impressively compact when folded.

One of the standout features of the Chicco Cheerio is just how light it is. ‘Weighing in at just 5.6kg, it eased the burden of pushing a toddler as they suddenly seem to get A LOT heavier,’ said our tester Amelia, who expecting her second child. This travel stroller boasts a one-handed fold-out mechanism which Amelia found easy to use and, when collapsed, is extremely compact. ‘I haven't travelled but it is apparently compact enough to be carried as hand luggage and the bumper bar can be used as a travel handle, which would make getting from the plane to the baggage carousel far easier,’ she says.

There are a few little things that Amelia found irritating: at 5ft 2in, she found the handle a little low, and the rain cover was fiddly to get on and off, with twiddly little bits of Velcro that fit around the frame. Overall, however, this is a good, mid-range travel stroller that is easy to put up and down and about as light as you could ask for.

chicco travel stroller reviews

VIEW AT VERY | £179.99

Stroller weight: 5.6kg  | Age Range: Birth to 3 years | Price: £179.99

Most travel strollers boast that they are ‘lightweight’ but the Chicco Cheerio really is. At 5.6kg, it’s one of the lightest on our list - and you can really feel that as you push it around. ‘Pushing a two-year up a steep hill at eight months pregnant is tough,’ said Amelia. ‘The pushchair that I've used since my daughter was born gradually began to feel like a lead weight. The Chicco Cheerio was like a breath of fresh air.’

What’s more, Amelia found that it did really only take one hand and less than three seconds to fold and unfold - a godsend if you also need to hold the hand of a toddler in a busy nursery car park. ‘When folded it's remarkably compact compared to my last pram (about half the size) and slots neatly into a gap in the hallway,’ adds Amelia. As well as being practical, aesthetically, she found the pram simple, and sleek, and she likes the black colourway.

Comfort and features

While a big fan of the design of Chicco Cheerio, Amelia had a few issues with how comfortable it was for her and her baby: ‘I'm only 5 foot 2 and the handle feels low.’ She also found the seat recline a little problematic. ‘The seat recline uses a toggle rather than clicking into place - which didn't feel as secure to me,’ she explains. ‘I prefer a satisfying click sound. I also might be less comfortable putting a smaller baby up against a seat back that doesn't feel as sturdy.’ That said, Amelia felt confident pushing her toddler around in this. As regards the stroller’s extras, Amelia found the rain cover fiddly to put on and the shopping basket underneath small. ‘A metal bar runs across it - meaning it's difficult to fit her nursery backpack in there,’ she adds.

Value for money

At around £140, the Chicco Cheerio is a well-designed, middle-of-the-range travel stroller. ‘Considering it can be used from birth to15kg (about three years), it feels like a great value option,’ said Amelia. This stroller isn’t budget or premium and, while it doesn’t come with lots of innovations such as a coffee cup holder or a large shopping basket, it is extremely lightweight and has an easy-to-use one-handed folding system. Amelia feels this will suit someone with limited space who needs a city run-around but she advises taller parents to try another model with a higher handle.

Chicco Viaro Stroller and Travel System Review

Baby girl in pink bow sitting in grass at park

Editor’s Note

The Chicco Viaro Stroller that we reviewed is unavailable currently, however, Chicco now has the Chicco Viaro Quick-Fold Travel System for purchase.  But here is the deal… these two systems are identical.  There is nothing different between the two from size to features.  The new system includes the Viaro Quick Fold stroller with easy, one-handed folding as well as the Chicco KeyFit 30 infant car seat and infant seat base for your car.  All we could discover is that the name was just changed to add “quick-fold” so you can feel safe purchasing this travel system, knowing that it is the same as the previous system and that it is a Chicco product. It is also an Amazon Choice product, meaning that it has a good price, good customer reviews, and quick shipping availability.

We also compared the Chicco Travel System to the Britax B-Agile which has been retired, but Britax has the Britax B-Lively & B-Safe Gen2 Flexfit Travel System for a similar price point.  It also offers a quick fold, large storage, a lightweight aluminum frame, and has the reputation of the Britax name.  It also comes with the B-Lively stroller, the B-Safe Gen 2 infant car seat, and a base.

Chicco Viaro Quick-Fold Travel System | Includes Infant Car Seat and Base | Stroller and Car Seat Combo | Baby Travel Gear | Black/Black

The Chicco Viaro Stroller and Travel System is an all-in-one travel solution for babies from 4 to 50 pounds.  We bought our Chicco Viaro Travel system right before our second baby’s arrival. After testing it for some months, I can confidently say, my husband and I are big fans.

The Chicco Viaro Stroller

Included in this Travel System is the Chicco Viaro Stroller .  This lightweight stroller is perfect for any outing and accommodates the Chicco Keyfit Car seat for added convenience.

Why I love the Chicco Viaro Stroller

My husband had no problem assembling the Chicco Viaro stroller and we soon found out that it folds up very easily for transport and storage. It fits into our baby’s small closet perfectly, as well as the back of our trunks leaving extra room to spare.  I have also found this stroller to be sturdy and safe.

Chicco Viaro Travel System, Teak

Once my baby gets bigger, I can use the stroller without the car seat. The adjustable seat back will allow the baby to sit and observe the world or quickly recline for naps on the go. The Chicco Viaro has a weight limit of 50 pounds so the baby will be able to use it well into the toddler years and beyond (for reference, my average sized 6 year old is 48 pounds).

Chicco – a reliable brand

Chicco is a very reputable brand when it comes to children and infant products. Their mission is to make parenting a breeze – an inspiration to what motivated them to create a safe and healthy environment for your baby.

For years, Chicco has been creating top quality baby products for moms and successfully built a respectable reputation for doing just that. Their hundreds of baby products range from cribs to car seats to toys, to name a few.  Chicco’s products regularly win awards for safety, reliability and ease of use. There are many other good travel system brands of course. Go here to see all of our car seat and stroller reviews.

Sturdy Wheels

Chicco Viaro Travel System, Teak

If you need to stop, the Chicco Viaro has a foot brake at each rear wheel, so you can easily and quickly lock it. It’s easy to engage and disengage the foot brakes. Once you apply the brakes, just fold the stroller with a single push of a button, which can be done with one hand for convenience.

One-hand fold

This is a biggie for me.  When I’m juggling baby gear, I appreciate any feature that can make that easier.  With a one-hand fold and unfold, this stroller is out of the car and ready to roll in no time flat.  I can unfold it, put the car seat in and be on my way.

Check out the one-handed fold along with the other cool features in the video below:

Storage Capacity

One of the features I love about the Chicco Viaro stroller is its large storage capacity. The stroller has four different cup holders with two at the front for your baby, and the additional two for the parent. You can use it for an extra baby bottle, water bottle, and soda cans, among others.

Chicco Viaro Quick-Fold Stroller, Graphite

Additionally, the Chicco Viaro comes with sleek trays for both your baby and the pusher of the stroller. The adult tray is designed to keep items like keys, wallets, cell phone, etc., while the child tray holds snacks and baby toys.

At the back of the seat is a large storage basket which is easily accessible from behind the stroller. This storage area is ideal for holding blankets, purse, diaper bags or other baby materials.

Features of the Chicco Viaro Stroller

  • It features a one-hand quick fold (and unfold) for convenience.

Chicco Viaro Travel System, Teak

  • The Chicco Viaro can be used without car seat once baby gets bigger, between 30-50 pounds.
  • This lightweight stroller is easy to maneuver thanks to its’ sporty, 3-wheel design.
  • Front wheel has suspension for an extra comfortable ride
  • The aluminum frame is totally safe and lead-free
  • Extra large canopy which overlaps fully with the car seat canopy to protect those precious sleeping babies from the sun.
  • Two cup holders for the child and two cup holders for the adult
  • Generous sized basket for ample storage space
  • The brakes are independent and toe-tap activated

Chicco KeyFit Car Seat

The car seat included with the travel system is the Chicco Keyfit . Surprisingly, it is light weight and easily clicks into both the Chicco Viaro stroller and the car seat base.

The Chicco Keyfit car seat fits perfectly into the rear center seat of our car, leaving a comfortable space for other car passengers to sit.  The car seat straps are easily adjusted for our baby to fit snugly, yet comfortable in the car seat.

Generous weight range

The Chicco Keyfit car seat has a weight range of 4-30 pounds.  The removable infant insert padding is for babies 4 -11 pounds.  This insert can be easily removed when your little one starts getting bigger.  The baby will grow out of this car seat when they reach the weight of 30 pounds.  More likely though, they will grow out the height range first, which is 30″.  When the top of your child’s head is an inch away from the top of the seat, it’s time to transition to a convertible car seat.

You can easily gauge whether the car seat is installed correctly by looking at the bubble level indicators, which are on each side of the car seat base.  Adjust the base if the bubble is not in between the appropriate lines.  Because every car is different, it’s nice to have the bubble level indicator as an easy double check.

To adjust the base, the Recline Sure spring-assisted leveling system comes to the rescue.  Use the buttons to adjust the base up or down so that the bubbles are level.

Chicco Keyfit Infant Car Seat and Base with Car Seat, Lilla

The Chicco Keyfit car seat is easy to remove from the vehicle (without waking baby) so that the car seat can be transported around.  Having the Chicco Viaro stroller to seamlessly transition the Chicco Keyfit into is an added bonus.

Features of the Chicco Keyfit Car Seat

  • The roomy weight capacity (30 lbs) is convenient and will take your baby through most of its first year, if not beyond.
  • The Chicco Keyfit is really easy to install securely and safely with the SuperCinch Latch Tightener and level indicator.
  • The Chicco Keyfit car seat has impeccable safety ratings
  • The foam padding and structurally thick cushioning offer the perfect security and support for your baby.
  • The five-point design of the harness provides better security and maximum comfort for your little one.
  • The Chicco Keyfit car seat seamlessly transfers from car to stroller especially when you don’t want to wake your sleeping baby.
  • The removable infant insert padding can be easily taken out when your little one start growing bigger.

Check out the video below which explains all the features of the Chicco Keyfit car seat in depth:

However, every product has its own cons. Though they are minor objections you can live it (we did and we’re fine), here are some things to be aware of:

Chicco KeyFit Infant Car Seat Base, Anthracite

  • Securing the base to the car seats may be difficult for some. In fact, it can slightly wiggle, and this may be worrisome for some moms.  You will want to install the base tightly with no wiggle room by pulling on the adjustment straps firmly.
  • The Chicco Keyfit’s cushioning and extra padding could be too warm for some babies, especially during summer months.
  • Some users felt that the sunshade of the Chicco Keyfit alone was not quite large enough to shield the baby from the sun.
  • Longer babies may find these seats uncomfortable, even if their weight limits falls on the average.  For this reason, the car seat maxes out at 30 pounds or 30 inches, whichever comes first.
  • Some reviewers felt that the fabric of the seat and neck cushion is a bit rougher when compared to other brands.  However, my baby was always comfortable in this seat, even on longer journeys.

Let’s Compare: Britax B Agile & B Safe 35 vs Chicco Viaro

We’ve talked a lot about the Viaro travel system. Now I want to put it up against one of the best travel systems: the Britax B Agile B Safe . For 2 travel systems that are so similar, these 2 are actually quite far apart on a few aspects.

With both of these car seats, the manufacturers have definitely focused more on safety and maneuverability and left out the smaller details. This isn’t such a bad thing. With either system, you are going to get one of the safest car seats on the market, since Britax and Chicco consistently dominate the safest car seat lists. You just can’t beat that.

I will say that the Chicco car seat isn’t as deep as the Britax. This makes it so much easier to get the baby in and out. But I do like the shape of the Britax from a safety standpoint. As for installing the car seats, they are both ridiculously easy to install. They both have easy latch anchors and easy tightening. I believe that the Britax base is better because of the SafeCell technology.

The biggest differences are found in the strollers. My biggest pet peeve with the Viaro is that it doesn’t lock when folded. That makes transporting it or moving it such an awkward chore. Add in the fact that it’s 2 pounds heavier, and it becomes even more tricky.

Now let’s look at the fold itself. The B Agile is easy to fold and so is the Viaro. Both of them are capable of being folded with one hand. But the Viaro allows you to push the button and pull the strap to fold all in the same spot. You don’t have to push a button on the side and then grab the middle strap like the B Agile.

The Britax B Agile folds up a bit smaller. I think that this mostly has to do with the fact that it doesn’t have the tray. The snack tray that acts as the Viaro’s car seat adapter sticks out really far when folded, thus needing a bit more room in the trunk. And if you take it off, you run the risk of losing it and not being able to use the stroller for a travel system.

The Viaro does have better storage. The lower basket is so much larger. Plus, you can access it from rear and from the front, which can be inconvenient with a taller child riding in the stroller, but it’s nice when the kids are small. The Viaro has the parent snack tray and the child snack tray included for no extra cost.

For the same price, you’d expect the same quality. But that’s not quite true with the Viaro and the B Agile. The Viaro has a few items that seem to be cheaper quality. The wheels are the biggest problem. The Viaro’s wheels are cheap- thin and easily bruised and bumped by any little rock in the road. And if you ride on gravel, you’ll shred your wheels in no time. The fabric and plastics also feel cheaper and thinner than those on the B Agile.

Chicco certainly has more bells and whistles on their stroller, like I mentioned above. They have much better storage and a slightly easier one handed fold. But the stroller feels a little cheaper and it doesn’t lock! Since the Britax car seat has more bells and whistles and is a bit nicer overall, and that’s probably more important, the Britax B Agile and B Safe 35 travel system is my winner for the best 3-wheeled travel system.

Has multi-position reclining seat with adjustable footrest

Chicco Corso Travel System is one of the few Chicco systems that has a reversible seat. The seat is bucket- like meaning that when reclined, the whole seat together with the backrest does.

To recline the seat, the system features a one-hand user-friendly lever which when pulled, reclines the seat to a near flat position for napping (you may have to flip-over the canopy for protection against extreme weather), or an upright position for sitting.

The upright position is most appropriate for older curious toddlers who would like to explore the world. While in this sit-up position, the toddler can comfortably stretch, dangle their legs or have them rest on the built-in footrest that can flip up and down. To enjoy these features though, the infant must be 6months plus.

Infant seat allows for either forward or parent facing options

The parent-facing position is ideal for younger infants, whom you may want to constantly keep an eye on. The forward-facing option on the other best suits older toddlers who are constantly thrilled and fascinated by the diverse stimuli in their environments

The seat comes covered in a removable machine washable cover making it convenient and modern. Additionally, the cover being removable, makes it easy to clean in case of sudden bowel movements or spit-ups. More important though is, being removable, avoids the hassle of rethreading the harnesses after cleaning.

Has a 3-open canopy with a zip-open extension

Chicco Corso Travel System Review

The beauty of this canopy lies in its multifaceted adjustments to suit different uses and weather conditions. When fully reclined, the canopy can be unzipped to extend all the way preventing the infant from direct harmful sun rays.

For hotter days, the canopy can be unzipped or flipped to leave behind a mesh-covered panel that allows for free air circulations. It does not stop there either. The mesh holes are wide enough to allow light through to the toddler thus serving both as an aeration point and a peek-a-boo window for the parent.

2-in-1; Safety and comfort

The ultimate qualification of any baby gear is first safety than the second comfort. And this is the exact guarantee of Corso Travel. The harness is fitted with two pads to be gentle and comfortable against your little one’s stroller. While the three-point harness safely, securely, and conveniently secures them on the stroller.

Has a one-hand fold mechanism

The travel system is designed to conveniently serve users on the go. At the pull of a lever hidden below the seat, the stroller folds into a compact lightweight system that fights into the trunk of a car. Plus, when folded, it stands independently to allow you to eat in a restaurant, get into an elevator or bundle it into your car.

Has A lightweight stroller

Featuring a cumulative 17.3 lbs when assembled, the stroller is light and easy to push along as you stroll with your young one.

Multiple pouches, pockets, and spacious Basket

Chicco Corso Travel System Review

As would be expected, a night or day out with an infant is an equivalent of a temporary move from one house to another. And this could be what inspired Chicco to design the Torso Travel System for parents on the go.

To the back of the system are two large pouches and one zipper pocket. These can serve well as holders of all the essentials that you need to always have at hand including phones, wallets, or even credit cards. For water bottles, the system sports 2 inbuilt water bottle holders.

For diapers, shopping bags, and other baby essentials, the system has a spacious storage basket that is easily accessible as you push the system along.

Smooth ride Through Diverse Terrains

Chicco Corso Modular Travel System has Eva foam tires with the front wheel being 8.3 and the rear being 10.3. The relatively large wheels have hub bearings and Eva foam tread to enhance traction for different uneven or even terrains.

The wheels are threaded (not pumped) and can therefore smoothly handle uneven gravel driveways, shorter grass or slightly rough surfaces.

For cracked sidewalks and worn city streets, the Corso sports Flexcore adjustable rear-wheel suspension for that consistent bump-less ride for the infant.

Comes with a KeyFit 30 Zip Infant Car Seat

One of the key selling points of travel systems over car seats and standalone strollers is the ease of transition. That is with a travel system, you can with little to no effort, transition your infant from a stroller to car seat without taking them off the car seat.

Unlike the KeyFit 30 and KeyFit 30 Magic ( See Keyfit 30 vs KeyFit 30 Zip Compared ), KeyFit 30 Zip (is FAA approved) will support the infant from birth up to 65 pounds, has a removable seat pad that easily unzips to be machine/hand washed. To the inside, it features EPS energy-absorbing foam . This is especially convenient for parents who constantly travel for business or pleasure.

Its other safety features include side-impact protection to keep your infant safe during car crashes and a five-point harness to securely and conveniently protect your baby.

The KeyFit 30 Zip ( See KeyFit 30 Zip in-depth ) sports a latch system for compatible vehicles. To make it stable and not sway from side to side when driving, it features a SuperCinch that tightens the seat by a simple pull. Vehicles lacking latch systems are not disadvantaged either, the seat comes with simple easy-to-follow belt guides for use with a vehicle safety belt and lock-in system.

It also features a 9 position leveling system –ReclineSure – that is compatible with a wide range of vehicles. The system sports dual-bubble indicators that serve as visual confirmation of proper seat installation. This mechanism or feature reduces the risk of improper seat installation.

Vented Canopy

4 panels, one of which is zipper opening is what Corso offers. Compared to most strollers, Corso does offer pretty good protection against the scorching sun that may leave your infant sunbaked or with sunburns.

The panels allow for adequate aeration ensuring temperatures are well regulated on warm days. The panel fabric cover can also be removed for even better air circulation to prevent sweating. Plus, with no fabric cover on the panel, the mesh vent serves as a vital peek-a-boo window with your infant.

Color Diversity

Corso comes in two colors, a relaxed luxurious silverspring , and a bold elegant semi-neutral Hazelwood .

Non-Adjustable Handlebar

Corso, unlike the Bravo LE system (read our Bravo LE review ), has a handlebar fixed at 42.8 inches above the ground. This is a serious drawback as it severely disadvantages shorter parents. This may not be obvious on flat terrains but will have one break streams of sweat when pushing along steep inclines.

Additionally, the strain (wrist pains) is especially significant for shorter parents and caregivers on long strolls and nature walks.

Lacks a single press-brake

Another deal-breaker is the lack of an easy, convenient single press brake. However, this doesn’t mean that it lacks brakes altogether

Lacks both a parent cup holder and Child Tray

Much as the system is purposed to serve the baby, it should afford the parent some convenience. One such convenience is an accessible cup holder. The Corso lacks in this respect plus, it does not also feature a child tray.

Chicco Corso Travel System Review from Customers

Most of the reviews had nothing but praise for the Corso system. They were impressed by the versatility of the system in terms of user modes, easy maneuver courtesy of the swivel wheels, and two-setting suspensions.

These make the spin both smooth and adaptable to different terrains. They further noted that with removable cover fabrics, cleaning and maintaining was not so big an issue.

More impressive to the users were the safety standards of both the stroller and car seat. The click-in attachment for audio confirmation paired with a visual bubble level system was more than a welcome safety relief. Diversity in car design adaptability was not an issue either as the system features easy to install guidelines for both latch systems and easy-to-follow belt guides.

The deal-breakers the users noted were in the relatively high price it retails at, inconvenience accompanying the system as it lacks both a child and parent tray, difficulty to push along inclined planes due to fixed handlebar as well as the absence of more color options.

Evenflo Pivot Xpand Modular Travel System

chicco travel stroller reviews

If you are out for a classy system, one that oozes elegance, balances between convenience and sophistication, and above all offers value for money, then Evenflo Pivot Xpand Modular Travel System might be what you just need.

Weighing an average of 42.6 pounds and supporting up to 35 pounds, the system features 22 unique configurations, 4 different use modes that include parent-facing and forward-facing modes. What is more is that in these modes, the seats (yes you read right) reclines to different heights to be either reclined or upright.

The ingenious inclusion of the word xpand was not a typing error either, for the system expands and converts from single to double. That is, it can accommodate both an infant and a toddler at a go. To adequately cater to the infant and toddler, it contains a spacious storage basket. The basket is about two feet long and is accessible from either the rear or front.

The icing on the cake for this particular system is that it is fast and easy to fold. The system folds with the toddler seat still attached and collapses into a compact self-standing system.

And you might be forgiven to think that all these features come at the cost of comfort. On the contrary, the system is big on comfort featuring a 5 position adjustable footrest. A flip flop rear brake, front-wheel swivel, and rear-wheel suspension.

For safety, the system uses the SafeMax infant car seat that has been approved after posting safety standards way above those set by the industry. You can proceed to buy it from where we bought ours .

Chicco Mini Bravo Plus Travel System

chicco travel stroller reviews

Weighing at less than 20 pounds, Mini Bravo Plus Travel System is a smaller system that cuts back on weight and makes up for it in functionality.

To rival the full and larger systems, the Mini Bravo packs everything including those lacking in large systems. Key features include a parent and child tray, compatibility with a wide range of infant car seats, a bucket reclining seat, and an independent stand fold.

Unlike the Corso, it has a canopy with 2 panels and a third zip-opened panel to allow for a free flow of air. For wheels, it features the same Eva foam wheels that are also pushed by a non-adjustable handlebar that is 41.5 inches above the ground.

The one thing the Mini Bravo is generous with is space. Neatly fixed below the seat is a spacious basket large enough to hold a blanket, diaper bag, and a few warm clothing for the both of you (guardian and infant).

And just like other Chicco travel systems, it collapses into a compact fold that easily fits into car trunks. Read our detailed Mini Bravo Travel System review or buy it here from Amazon .

Answer: The System was not designed to feature such accessories. Plus, we do not recommend using unapproved after-market products. However, other approved compatible products can be found here.

Answer: No. The stroller frame was specifically made for the Corso Modular and can therefore not be compatible with any other bassinet other than the one it was made for.

There is not much to dislike about the Chicco Corso Travel system which we truly saw in this Chicco Corso Travel System Review. Sporting a number of zip-enabled features that range from a boot to keep the chilly cold winds at bay, a 4 vent canopy panel and visor for extreme weather, and a rear-wheel suspension with large Eva foam tires ideal for smoothly handling all types of tough terrain.

Not known to compromise on safety, Chicco uses FAA-approved infant car seats with EPS-lined foam to absorb shocks in case of car accidents. Bubble leveling system among other safety measures. To give you more than just value, the system is compatible with a wide range of infant seats, plus it grows with your infant as it easily converts into a stroller as it includes a toddler seat.

So if you are big on safety, want to ooze class and sophistication, value versatility, you are constantly traveling with a handful of essentials, need to keep the infant close and comfortable, then the Chicco Corso Travel System is the compromise you will have to settle for.

The compromise being, you will have to make do with the non-adjustable handlebar, have to part with some extra cash to purchase special adapters for the infant seat, plus, will do without the parent and child tray.
