From Reykjavik, you will then drive off to the famous Golden Circle on our Super Jeep which will be our ride of the day. This tour allows visitors to get in touch with some of Iceland’s most famous and exciting natural phenomena. Your first stop for the day will be at Þingvellir National Park , 40 min east of the city. Þingvellir is one of Iceland’s most historic sites as it was here that Iceland’s first parliament, Althingi was founded in the year 930 AD. Þingvellir or as some like to call it Pingvellir is also where the tectonic plates meet so beautifully and you can jump in between them. Þingvellir is where the softness and roughness of Icelandic nature live in perfect harmony with waterfalls, streams, and lakes surrounding this extraordinary place.
From Þingvellir you will then head to the world-renowned geothermal area around Geysir hot spring where you can witness gurgling bubbling water burst up to 25 meters high. The area is covered in numerous hot springs, some active others not. The area is smoke-filled and mysterious but exciting at the same time. Strokkur is now the main number of the show as it bursts every 4 to 10 minutes. He is the baby brother of Geysir but no lesser and you are in for quite the spectacle!
From Geysir, you will continue on to Gullfoss , “the Golden waterfall”. Gullfoss is a great sight and a perfect photo spot with water rushing down three steps of lava layers exhibiting breathtaking power and grandeur. This is the final stop of the Golden Circle but definitely not of the day.
No lunch is included in the tour but at Gullfoss café, we will fill up our energy for the adventures ahead. Gullfoss café offers a wide variety of lunch options for you to purchase but some prefer to pack a lunch themselves. It's up to you.
Next up, you kick the action into a higher gear and go for a 1-hour snowmobiling ride on Langjökull , Iceland’s second-largest glacier. Our Super Jeep has no problem reaching the glacier camp on Langjökull and the views whilst getting there are amazing. Our snowmobile guides will welcome you, and give a briefing and proper gear for the snowmobiling. Once you are all suited up there is nothing left to do than to step onto your snowmobile and follow your guide on an hour's glacier expedition. To explore a glacier is an enchanting experience on its own but to do it on a snowmobile is something else!
After the ride of a lifetime, we will join you again at the glacier camp before jumping into our Super Jeep again and starting our scenic drive back to Reykjavík.
This tour offers the adventure of a lifetime in just one day. Sign up and do something you have never experienced before!

Tour Details
This one-day Golden Circle tour is the very best way to combine the most popular sites in Iceland with an exciting activity – snowmobiling.
The first stop on this Golden Circle tour is at Þingvellir national park. The birthplace of Icelandic democracy and where the World’s first parliament met in the summer of 930 AD.
First Golden Circle stop
Þingvellir National park has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2004. The entrance to Þingvellir is a walk through the Almannagjá gorge. You’ll see visible evidence of plate tectonic activity on the European-American fault line. Which is still today pushing the two continents apart and creating Iceland, geology’s youngest country.
Hot springs at Geysir
Then it’s on to Geysir, which has given its name to spouting hot springs. The giant geyser Strokkur will not fail to impress you so have your camera ready for when it blows, which it does every few minutes. Other geothermal features include fumaroles, mud pools, and other smaller geysers as well as the large but dormant Geysir.
Before heading into the southern highlands, we visit another of our iconic and impressive natural features, Gullfoss. It goes by the name the Golden waterfall and carries the meltwater from Langjökull glacier down the Hvítá river. The waterfall has distinct curves and thus adding drama to the powerful display. You can grab something to eat at either Gullfoss or Geysir café before we drive on the mountain road Kjölur. Up to the snowmobile site on Langjökull, the second-largest glacier in Iceland.
Snowmobiling at Langjökull
This route offers fascinating glimpses of nature´s majesty. Once on-site, you will be kitted out with an insulated all-in-one jump-suit, giant mittens, and safety helmet, then given clear and precise instructions for handling these powerful machines. Led by the experienced mountain guide, the snowmobiles shoot off in single file for an hour of often high-speed driving along the carefully chosen route over the glacier. The return journey down from the glacier provides further unmissable photo opportunities on this action-packed day. This activity is operated by our trusted partner Snowmobile .
Þingvellir is a site of historical, geological and cultural importance. It is the site of a rift valley caused by continental drift between the North American and Eurasian Plates. This unique geology offers interesting sites such as fissures with crystal clear waters that are popular with divers. Öxarárfoss is the main attraction in Almannagjá gorge.Þingvellir is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. Þingvellir was the centre of icelandic culture. The Alþingi (assembly) was Iceland’s supreme legislative and judicial authority and the oldest parliament in the world.
Geysir is one of the most famous hot springs in the world. It lies dormant at the moment but its neighbour Strokkur goes off every 4-8 minutes, sometimes elevating up to 40 metres high.
Gullfoss is a waterfall that is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Iceland. It is about 32 m high and drops into a crevice about 20 m wide and 2,5 km in length. Gullfoss carries a lot of sediments that glacial ice has carved off the earth and colours the water slightly brownish.
Langjökull is Iceland’s second largest glacier. Despite its size not many river directly originate from there. The glacier is shrinking quite fast and covers 2 volcanic systems. Volcanically the region is relatively quiet. Here it is possible to add a snowmobile ride to the tour.

Snowmobiling and Golden Circle Super Jeep Tour Itinerary
First Stop: þingvellir National Park
Our Iceland adventure begins with a visit to the Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the birthplace of Iceland’s first parliament . This historic site is where the world's oldest extant parliamentary institution was established in AD 930. The park is also an extraordinary geological spectacle, where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet and separate year after year. You can witness the remarkable gap formed over millennia, a testament to the power of our planet.
Geysir Hot Spring Area
From Þingvellir, we trade our regular vehicles for a monster truck and head inland towards the active Geysir Hot Spring area. Prepare your waterproof clothes as you might get a good dousing from the mighty geyser if the wind direction is favorable. This area is a pulsating hub of earth's energy, boasting boiling mud pits and spouting hot springs.
Gullfoss: The Mighty Waterfall
Next on the itinerary is Gullfoss, one of the most powerful waterfalls in Iceland. Here, the Hvítá River, fed by the Langjökull Glacier, plunges 32 meters in two stages into a rugged canyon. Don't forget your waterproof jacket! If luck is on our side, a sunny day at Gullfoss can reward us with the sight of a beautiful rainbow.
Final Stop: Langjökull Glacier
The final stop of our tour is the breathtaking Langjökull Glacier. Here, we will exchange our monster truck for the same snowmobiles, which will take us across the vast snowfields. Please note that there is an age limit of 7–16 years old for the snowmobile tour and a valid driver's license is required. Single-person snowmobiles will be available at an extra cost.
While surrounded by the icy realm, we will gaze at the mountain peaks that encircle us. For those with an adventurous spirit, we offer the opportunity to explore an ice cave. This is a unique experience as regular vehicles cannot venture into these areas.
Note: Please note that due to the odd number of participants sometimes, the snowmobile might need to be shared.
Things To Keep In Mind:
- You must carry a valid driver's license
- Weather and road conditions may cause delays or even cancellations
- Generally, two individuals will share one snowmobile. However, a single-rider option is available at an additional fee
- The minimum age for participation is 6 years old
- Only one child per adult is allowed on this tour
- Given the unpredictable weather of Iceland, it is advisable to dress in warm, waterproof attire. Always be prepared for sudden weather changes
- The journey on the monster truck itself is an exciting adventure, so make sure to fully embrace the thrill provided by the Mountaineers.
Essentials to Carry
Given the duration of this tour is approximately 10 hours, it's recommended that you:
- Pack Snacks: Carry some light bites with you to keep your energy levels up. However, if you prefer buying food on the go, you have the option to purchase meals and beverages at Geysir Cantina and Gullfoss Cafe.
- Waterproof Clothing: The unpredictable weather in Iceland can sometimes be harsh, so it's best to be prepared. Don't forget to pack a waterproof jacket and trousers.
- Headwear and Gloves: These are essential to protect you from cold winds and sudden temperature drops.
- Outdoor Hiking Shoes: Given the terrain, we strongly recommend wearing sturdy outdoor hiking shoes for the best comfort and safety.

Want to enjoy the most popular sites in Iceland in an exciting adventurous way? Then this is without a doubt the right tour for you.
This day includes scenic sites, mountain tracks, and snowmobiling in the glacier area. Your Super truck driver will take you through the sights of Thingvellir national park where the tectonic plates are drifting apart, Thingvellir is quite unique with its landscape.
We can´t forget the Iconic Geysir with its spouting hot springs, where Strokkur can reach the height of around 25 meters.
You’ll also visit the stunning Gullfoss which is spectacular at all times of the year. In the summer, the falls are surrounded by verdant foliage and you may catch rainbows sparkling in the spray. Over the winter, snow-covered landscapes engulf the falls for as far as the eye can see. We will have our lunch break at Gullfoss cafe, before heading up to the glacier.
After lunch, the action starts, heading to the unbeaten paths of the highlands on our way to Europe’s second-largest glacier, Langjökull. We might splash through rivers and action drive on the rough tracks before reaching the snow. “please buckle up” On the glacier, a 1-hour snowmobile ride awaits you, all the gear included for a warm and safe journey. The Superjeep is an experience by itself, a muscular built up 4×4, modified in Iceland to be able to deal with the tough surroundings in the highlands. This is not an average Golden Circle tour, so be ready for a tour of a lifetime.

About the tour.
Our first stop on the Golden Circle is Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home of Iceland’s first parliament and the oldest extant parliamentary institution in the world. Founded in AD 930, it is Iceland’s most significant historical site. Also capturing the world’s attention is Þingvellir’s geological features where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates can be seen separating from each other, although, ever-so-slightly year after year. Now after many millennia, you can witness the big gap that’s been formed at this geological marvel.
From Þingvellir, we head inland toward the highly active Geysir Hot Spring area with its boiling mud pits and spouting hot springs. For some wet and wild excitement, if the winds are right, you can let the falling water from the mighty geyser give you a good dousing.
We continue on to Gullfoss, one of Iceland’s most powerful waterfalls. Located on Hvítá river, this waterfall fed by Langjökull Glacier plummets 32 meters in two stages into a rugged canyon. And while you’re there, keep your fingers crossed; with a little luck, on a sunny day, you’ll be greeted by a rainbow.
To top it all off, we drive to Langjökull Glacier for another Iceland adventure where we will dash across snowfields on snowmobiles, gazing at the mountain peaks, while enveloped in this icy realm.

Reset password, sea kayaking, one of the most exhilarating ways to experience antarctica, the arctic and beyond..
Sea kayaking holidays in the humbling wilderness of Antarctica , the Arctic , and some of the world’s most biodiverse regions, are guaranteed to stir your soul. Paddle between brash ice and icebergs of all shapes and sizes, absorbing the majestic scenery as it unfolds before you.
In Antarctica, keep your camera on-hand for unforgettable encounters with penguins, seals and whales, and occasionally leopard seals or orcas. In the Arctic, prepare to paddle under nesting bird colonies, past massive glaciers and around large iceberg.
Led by experienced guides , you and your small group of like-minded adventurers will paddle between ice floes, brash ice and icebergs of all shapes and sizes. Paddling is one of the best ways to access and intimately explore the beautiful coastlines we visit and therefore make the most of your time in the wild and remote destinations we visit .
‘Getting out amongst it’ is our philosophy, and that is exactly what we do. Weather permitting, the sea kayaking activity is normally available anytime the other expeditioners go out. Rather than travelling large distances, our aim is to ensure you see as much as possible. We paddle between 5 to 15 kilometres (2 to 4 hours) per outing, often taking a snack and a flask of hot chocolate to enjoy on our excursion.
Each small group of kayakers (up to 10 per guide) will have their own intimate exploration of the small hidden bays and coasts that are inaccessible to Zodiacs. Of course, we also make time for your own shore excursions and wildlife encounters.
The elements play an important role in our sea kayaking program. It is important that you have an adventurous attitude and understand that the weather can impact our kayaking time.
For all of our trips, you must be active in the outdoors and have an adventurous spirit. The level of experience differs slightly depending on the region you are visiting.
For most temperate and polar you should be an intermediate paddler. In South Georgia however, conditions can be more varied and you require solid paddling experience in ocean swell and wind.
For our tropical trips some prior paddling experience is needed. We may encounter wind on these trips, however the water is fairly protected.
You do not need to be an expert or know how to roll. However, you must be able to swim and you should have experience in a wet exit and assisted re-entry. You should also be proficient at putting on a spray skirt by yourself and be comfortable paddling on seas with up to half a metre swell. It is also important that you gain some practice getting into a kayak from a pier, wharf, or deep shoreline where you can’t step into the kayak from standing position. You can easily practice all of this at home, plus paddling in a variety of weather conditions, before your trip.
What about beginners up to the challenge?
Our guides do not offer instructional classes for beginners. Therefore, the sea kayaking option is unsuitable for complete novices. However, there is often ample time to gain the required experience before you depart. We may be able to recommend a reputable sea kayak operator in your area for some tuition prior to the trip.
Your guide will assess your ability on the initial paddle, and if you have insufficient experience, he or she reserves the right to restrict your participation in rougher conditions.
You should be fit enough to paddle for up to three hours and climb between moving Zodiacs on the water. Regular exercise is recommended, because the fitter you are the more you will enjoy the experience. The more paddles you can do before the trip, the better. We recommend at least three outings prior to your voyage.
Polar regions
During summer the air temperature in the Antarctic Peninsula, Greenland and Spitsbergen are generally above freezing but can range from -4°C to +5°C / 24.8°F to 41°F. The water temperature in the polar regions is close to freezing and winds sweep off the glaciers, making paddling a chilling experience. In South Georgia, there are stronger winds and swells than in Antarctica. Scotland, Iceland, Norwegian coasts are warmer with water temperatures of around 12 °C/ 53.6°F.
Temperate regions
The northern waters are warmer than the polar regions but water temperatures of around 12 °C/ 53.6°F mean you may opt to wear your paddle jacket on a warm, sunny day or our dry suits on a cool day. Surf landings are not likely, but you must be capable of paddling in a small swell or wind chop, with winds up to 20 knots. With that being said, we will not paddle if wind conditions are too strong and there is no sheltered area for paddling.
Tropical regions
In Costa Rica and Panama, April is the end of the dry season. The shoulder season begins in May, bringing increased humidity. Afternoon rain showers are possible in May with temperatures ranging from 26-36 °C (80- 96 °F). Winds are generally light at this time of year. The water temperature ranges from 27 -29 °C. Surf landings are not likely, but be prepared to paddle in a small swell or wind chop, with winds up to 15 knots. Again, we will not paddle if wind conditions are too strong and there is no sheltered area for paddling.
The Sea Kayaking activity is available for an additional surcharge and includes guided excursions and kayaking equipment. Fares for this activity start from US$900, AU$1,250, £460 or €550.
Prices are indicative only and are variable. They are calculated based on the days of voyage, ability to carry out the activity and exchange rates.

Enhance your experience

Have the time of your life exploring some of the wildest places on earth from the water.
Our guide to paddler ratio is 1:10 and we provide an accompanying safety Zodiac. There are 26 places available in Antarctica and tropical voyages, 20 in temperate regions, South Georgia and all Arctic trips except in Franz Josef Land where the maximum is 16 kayakers.
Kayakers must be 14 or over.
Sea kayaking is offered in place of regular shore excursions. We aim to paddle as often as possible. Depending on the voyage, we generally aim to paddle twice per day.
We will give you a drybag for extra clothing, binoculars and anything that needs to be kept dry. You should also carry a water bottle. We recommend bringing a waterproof camera or phone, or ensuring you have a good quality waterproof case.
If the weather changes during our outing we will head back to the ship and perhaps join a shore excursion. The ship’s captain, expedition leader and kayak guide always maintain close contact to ensure a safe paddling experience. We do not attempt to paddle too far away from the ship. The emphasis is on experiencing the destination rather than travelling long distances.
The kayaks are made with a hard plastic and are easily paddled in swell and conducting shore landings, and through small patches of brash ice. We manoeuvre around the larger ice chunks and floes.
Kayaking in the poles offers a unique wildlife viewing experience. In Antarctica, we have many opportunities to encounter penguins, seals and whales, and occasionally we may even spot leopard seals or orcas. In the Arctic, we’ll paddle under nesting bird colonies, past massive glaciers and around large icebergs, however we maintain a safe distance from polar bears and walruses. Our guides carry rifles and flare guns in the Arctic to ensure your safety against polar bears.
Kayakers in wild temperate regions will have a unique wildlife experience, with possible encounters with seals and basking sharks. You will have the opportunity to view some of the largest sea bird colonies in the northern hemisphere.
The superb wildlife-viewing opportunities are endless in the astonishingly biodiverse nature reserves we visit. Kayaks offer a unique opportunity to view marine and land mammals, coral reefs, tropical fish, sea birds and an astonishing range of rainforest birds. We will bring our snorkelling gear with us during our paddles and take advantage of any opportunities to view marine life up close.
In the unlikely event of a capsize, your experienced guide will assist by righting the kayak, stabilising it then pumping it out. Paddlers will re-enter with the guide’s help, or with a support Zodiac. With drysuits and warm clothing underneath you will be comfortable in cold water for up to half an hour. Note that the kayaks have separate compartments with bulkheads, which means they will float after a capsize.
No. Each kayaking place is for one person only. Passengers are unable to share a kayaking place as we customise the kayaks and dry suits for each individual kayaker at the beginning of each voyage.

See Iceland's most iconic attraction and take a wild snowmobile ride on this incredible day tour. You’ll take in the sights of the famed Golden Circle and then plant your feet on the pedals of a zippy snowmobile, to spend an hour whizzing across the colossal ivory snows of Langjökull Glacier, the second-largest glacier in Iceland.
After hopping on a tour bus at, or near, your hotel or guesthouse, your odyssey will take you to Þingvellir National Park; a place known for its exceptional beauty and historical importance. Þingvellir is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, celebrating the world's longest running democratic parliament, the Alþingi, which was founded there in 930 AD.
The second stop is at the scorching geothermal area known as Geysir which is home to Strokkur, the most active geyser in Iceland, as well as countless steam vents and fumaroles, that characterise the area.
From there, you will head to the top of Langjökull for an exhilarating one-hour snowmobile tour on the vast snowcap. Hiking the glacier is refreshing and eye-opening, to be sure, but you’ve not experienced it fully until you hit the ice at high speed. The view from this location is breathtaking, and on a clear day, a major portion of the Icelandic highlands and several other glaciers are visible.
On our way back to Reykjavík, we will stop by the final location on the Golden Circle, the stunning Gullfoss waterfall. At Gullfoss, you will have the opportunity to take a path to the cliffs which directly overlook the immense falls, and see massive quantities of water plummet violently into a deep, meandering gorge. You can feel the brisk spray on your face and truly breathe in the experience!
Don't miss out on this tour which offers a peek into Iceland’s astounding history and geography, as well as the unforgettable feel of the frosty wind in your lungs as you speed across the glacial ice cap of Langjökull. Check availability by choosing a date.

Private Golden Circle & Snowmobile Adventure
Interested to do a Golden Circle with a bit of adventure?
On this tour, we combine the main sights of the Private golden circle with snowmobile . The Golden Circle – Thingvellir National Park, Geysir Geothermal Area, and Gullfoss Waterfall with a one-hour snowmobile adventure on the second biggest glacier in Iceland, name Langjökull.
The first stop on this Super jeep tour is at Þingvellir National Park, the birthplace of Icelandic democracy and where the World’s first parliament met in the summer of 930 AD. A main feature of Thingvellir is the Almannagjá Gorge, one of the few places anywhere you can witness, on dry land, the effect of the European and American tectonic plates drifting apart.
It goes by the name the Golden waterfall and carries the meltwater from Langjökull glacier down Hvítá river. The waterfall has distinct curves and thus adding drama to the powerful display. You can grab something to eat at either Gullfoss or Geysir café before we drive on the mountain road Kjölur, up to the snowmobile site on Langjökull, the second-largest glacier in Iceland.
Thingvellir National Park
The first stop of the day is Þingvellir National Park , where you will have a chance to walk on the tectonic plates rift that splits Iceland into two parts and the Öxaráfoss Waterfall that flows into the rift. Also, you will have the chance to see the site of the first parliament in the world. That’s actually where the name Þingvellir (e. Fields of the parliament) comes from.
Geysir Geothermal Area
From there we will head to a very active place Haukadalur (Geysir) geothermal area , where you will find Strokkur hot spring. It is the most active geyser in Iceland that shoots hot water as high as 20-30 meters (65-98ft), approx. every 5-10 minutes. There are over 20 other sleeping geysers and the small cute Litli Geysir that looks like a boiling pot. Watch out for getting to close to it, its water temperature is
Gullfoss waterfall
Gullfoss is a waterfall that is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Iceland. It is about 32 m high and drops into a crevice about 20 m wide and 2, 5 km in length. Gullfoss carries a lot of sediments that glacial ice has carved off the earth and colors the water slightly brownish.
Snowmobile at Langjökull Glacier
Langjökull is Iceland’s second-largest glacier. Despite its size, not many rivers directly originate from there. The glacier is shrinking quite fast and covers 2 volcanic systems. Volcanically the region is relatively quiet. Here we enjoy a one-hour snowmobile double ride in a shared group .
Please note that a valid driver’s license is required to operate a snowmobile. The standard price includes a snowmobile ride-sharing and a two-person snowmobile. If you are a solo traveler/ rider you must upgrade before the tour to a solo snowmobile.

If you’re looking for the ultimate adventure, riding on a snowmobile in Iceland is it. Whether you’re out exploring a specific region, going for a hot spring dip, or gliding across a glacier – we have a legion of snowmobile outings to choose from.
So, if you’re looking for a unique experience that gets the blood pumping, read on. We tell you everything you need to know about riding snowmobiles in Iceland and the various tours you can look forward to.
Book Your Spot on the Snowmobile Iceland Tours
First, you need to know that this is not a bring-your-own-and-go type of activity. There are various environmental factors that need to be taken into account, and quite a few things that bring some safety concerns. That’s why you’ll need to book a spot on one of the tours if you’d like to ride a snowmobile in Iceland.
Where Can You Go On a Snowmobile Tour in Iceland?
You will find various opportunities all across the island if you want to ride a snowmobile in Iceland. This includes the following highly recommended snowmobile hot spots:
Langjökull Glacier
Langjökull is Iceland’s second-largest glacier . Langjökull Glacier snowmobiling is ideal for those with limited time on the island or those who will be sticking to the capital city since Langjökull is close to Reykjavík. If you go on a Reykjavik snowmobile tour , you’ll probably end up on Langjökull.
Vatnajökull Glacier
This is the ultimate in glacier snowmobiling in Iceland. Vatnajökull is the largest glacier in all of Europe and can be found in our infamous Vatnajökull National Park with plenty of other must-visit local attractions.
Akureyri is referred to as the capital city of the north. Due to the weather in the north being colder than on the rest of the island, it’s a favorite amongst those who enjoy winter sports. Here you can go snowmobiling as well as skiing.
Myrdalsjökull Glacier
This is the fourth-largest glacier in Iceland and is conveniently located between the capital city and Vatnajökull, making it another excellent option for a day outing from Reykjavík.
Tröllaskagi (aka the Troll Peninsula)
This northern part of the north of Iceland boasts a couple of permanent ice caps. The colder weather and the many mountains and valleys make this an exciting spot for snowmobiling in Iceland.
