Wow what an awesome night. Went Vip and meet the band who were all great and really friendly.

The gig itself was awesome and Fozzy had the audience rocking, lots of Fozzy chants and Easy Easy chants !

All the Hits were played including When The Lights go out and Sos. They opened with The cracking new single Judas and closed with Enemy.

All the band really enjoyed the attomosphere and was very energetic despite the insane heat of the venue. I was dripping of sweat and I was wearing Shorts and a t-shirt, I can only imagine how hot Chris and the band where under the lights and decked out in Leather !

Oh and THE light jacket made an experince although nearly didnt happen as when Chris went to get some fresh air and put the Jacket on he got locked out of the venue ! He had to break the door rather than break the wall down for a change ! Chris took it in his stride and even made fun of it but I think the person who locked him out may have had Stupid idiot thrown at him lol !

Chris Jericho has some hidden talents it seems, in the form of fronting the heavy metal band, Fozzy. Who are a band who have been going for the best part of 15 years. They really surfaced when Jericho suffered from an ankle injury, allowing him to focus all his time on this band Fozzy.

Watching them live is pretty fantastic to be fair. Chris Jericho has so much charisma front this heavy metal band. Their sound definitely has quite a southern American drawl about it, almost as if the riffs would accompany an 18-wheeler cruising down the I10. “God Pound His Nails” opens this fantastic festival set, and Jericho roils up the crowd with some pretty cool call and response kinds of things. There is a lot of fist pumping the air to every syllable of every chorus throughout the entire set, but it’s absolutely electric, with some amazing guitar solos featuring some tapping and dive bombs. Such a great laugh. Great riffs and great songs.

One of the best rock shows I have seen. They were awesome - played all of their songs and good interaction with the fans. The crowd was really into it and that energy was felt and returned by the band. They seemed to be having a great time and it was everything I had hoped it would be. I highly recommend seeing them.

Fantastic performance filled with dedication, heart, and showmanship! Fozzy never disappoints. For anyone that has ever uttered the dreadful phrase "Rock is Dead"... They need to see this band and have their Hope's renewed! Thanks for coming to town Fozzy, please don't wait another six years before your return!

Fozzy was great! They had the crowd singing, screaming, and just overall killed it. One of the highlights is definitely Billy Grey's interactions with the crowd while playing. I would definitely recommend for anyone to attend a Fozzy show whether you're a fan or not.

The concert was awesome! Great choice of songs and interaction with the crowd. Sound quality for a live show was top notch as well.Even though it was a small venue, there was a lot of room and was not overly crowded.

Having paid their dues with endless touring of their earlier albums, sharing the stage with a pantheon of rock icons such as Metallica, KISS and Iron Maiden, it was the release of seventh LP Judas that elevated the band into the rarified group of acts to cross over from the rock and metal world into mainstream consciousness. The title track from the album has been streamed over 65 million times on Spotify alone and was sung word for word by 81,000 fans when Fozzy performed at AEW’s sellout Wembley Stadium show in August.

Pushing themselves both sonically and artistically over their twenty plus year career, the band’s eighth and latest studio album, Boombox  contains “A swathe of catchy-as-hell tunes” ( Metal Hammer ) and “Sees the band doubling down on the stadium anthems” ( Classic Rock ). With the band continually on the rise, expect an explosive performance of groovy, sweaty and hook-laden rock’n’roll as Fozzy tour Britain next year.

Fozzy return to the UK this week for their ‘ Spotlight On UK ‘ tour which kicks off at Cardiff’s Tramshed on Friday February 16th. Support for the tour will be  The Hot Damn  and  Pistols At Dawn .

“ The UK has always been the second home for Fozzy and we always look forward to rockin with all of you!  The Spotlight tour is our biggest UK tour ever and we are stoked to bring the Fozzy party to your shores with new songs, a new show and the same Fozzy intensity & fun factor that you’ve come to demand and expect from us! ” Chris Jericho / Fozzy

Recently Chris Jericho chatted to Carl Marsh :

Having held a total of 35 wrestling championships, including 8 World titles and 10 Intercontinental Championships with the likes of WWE, WCW and AEW: the legend that is Chris Jericho has also been the frontman for rock band Fozzy f or the past 20+ years and they are coming to the UK in February for their ‘ Spotlight On UK ‘ headline tour.

How did the band originally come about?

Chris: It’s just like any band; you start playing covers and figuring out what your style and vibe are. There were basically three stages to the band. There was the beginning from 2000 to 2004, where we did covers. Then, from 2005 to 2010, we did some original stuff, but in 2010, we said, “Why don’t we go full-time and really give this a go?”

In 2016, we started getting played on Rock Radio here in the States, which is a huge deal. And that took the band to a completely different level to where we’re now, a mainstream rock and roll band with seven top 20 hits in a row. So, you can see the band’s growth from the popularity and mainstream success we’ve had over the last five or six years. Twenty-three years on, we’re bigger than we’ve ever been. And I don’t think a lot of bands can say that. So, it’s been a cool journey for us to be where we’re at right here in 2023, about to be in 2024.

Fozzy seems to get bigger every year, current track, ‘Spotlight’, is flying up the chart listings as we speak!

Chris: I think it hit the top 20 in four or five weeks, which is the quickest we’ve ever got in the top 20. It’s different in the UK, but radio play is so important and means so much in the States.  In the UK, we are getting ready to do our biggest UK headlining tour ever. So, we continue to grow in the UK as well, which is very important to us because we’ve been coming to the UK since 2005 or so, and it’s always been like a second home to us. We are always very, very cognisant of touring regularly in the UK and playing as many places as possible. It’s not just always London, Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow. It’s important to go everywhere in the UK that you can because we’ve got so many fans around the entire territory.

What differences have you found between the UK and US concert fans?

Chris: Every city has a vibe to it, and that’s anywhere in the world. And when you’re talking about the UK, instantly you’ll think, okay, Glasgow in Scotland’s permanently insane, or in the States, Chicago is always crazy, or Sydney, Australia, is always an awesome time. Within 30 seconds, you’ll know whether the crowd is going to be hot or not. Welsh crowds are always great, too, but it’s cool to play different cities other than just Cardiff. The most important thing as a live performer is connecting with the audience, hooking them, and ensuring they have a great time right out of the gate. And when you set that tone from the show’s beginning, people know what they’re getting into. At a Fozzy show, right at the start, we expect a lot and give a lot, too, people know they’re coming for a ride, and it will be a good one. So wear a helmet, put on your seatbelt and get ready to rock!

You’ve had a bit of a career [massive understatement] in wrestling, you joined the WWF [World Wrestling Federation], now WWE [World Wrestling Entertainment, at the end of 1999, yet had your first World Title only 18 months later!

Chris: I might have actually been quicker than that. I think I had the title for about 20 minutes, just six months into my run in the WWF/WWE. [Laughs]

In that short time, you’d gone from a debut match into a world championship match, defeating Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock (Hollywood megastar Dwayne Johnson) on the same night in 2001, thus becoming the first Undisputed WWF Champion. What’s the secret to your success?

Chris: It probably took me nine years to get to that point, I toured the world before that, got so much experience which is the most important thing. There’s no secret because wrestling is not up to you. It’s up to the promoters and the people in charge and what they want you to do. So, for them to decide that I was at the level to at least try giving the world title to shows that I knew how to connect with the audience, that’s the most important thing with wrestling. It’s not about the matches or about anything more than having a character that people can get behind.

There is that connection with the audience when you’re wrestling. You can also bring that into the music because you have that rockstar persona as a wrestler whilst being a rockstar in real life.

Chris: Absolutely. It’s a rockstar persona in wrestling and a wrestling persona in rock’ n’ roll. They’re all reciprocal. When I first started (wrestling), I wasn’t the biggest guy in 1990, but I realised I could have the biggest personality. I looked at Mick Jagger, Freddie Mercury, David Lee Roth, and these great frontmen who can control the crowd and have had them in the palm of their hands at all times. So, that’s basically what wrestling is: whether you’re a good guy or a bad guy, you want people to react to what you’re doing at the highest level. That’s the basic concept, bottom line, and secret to making it in show business, whether you’re an actor, singer, wrestler, comedian, news broadcaster, or whatever it is. When you’re in front of a crowd, you have to connect with them and ensure they are interested in and get behind what you’re doing. If you can do that, you’ll always have a gig because people will be excited to hear what you’re going to do and be involved in what you have going on. And that’s the most important thing about the whole show business.

When you signed for AEW [All Elite Wrestling] a couple of years ago, was there any hesitation from yourself about signing a contract with them, as they were a brand new outfit, in essence, taking on the big boys at WWE?

Chris: I’ve always believed in myself. There was hesitation to start Fozzy or get into pro wrestling in the first place at 19 years old when I did. When you believe in yourself, you know you can always count on your instincts. And for me, I just felt that was the right thing to do, I felt that AEW had a real shot to do something big. And we did! Here we are, less than four years into our existence, putting 80,000 people in Wembley Stadium. And we’re returning in August [2024], and that’s just from the UK standpoint. There are so many huge things that we’ve done, and so many huge things that we have left to do, but the bottom line is we took a chance. We created something great, very quickly, and continue to build and grow on it.

FOZZY Announces Fall 2023 U.S. Tour

FOZZY — the band featuring wrestling superstar Chris Jericho and STUCK MOJO mastermind Rich "The Duke" Ward — has announced a fall 2023 U.S. tour. FOZZY , which will release a new single, "Spotlight" , on August 25, will be accompanied by SEVENTH DAY SLUMBER , THE NOCTURNAL AFFAIR and MAGDALENE ROSE .

Says Jericho : "We are beyond excited to put the FOZZY spotlight back in the USA this fall! After headlining our biggest U.K. show ever in August, we are ready to keep the party machine rolling throughout America in October and November! With a brand new song, a brand new setlist, and the same FOZZY energy and attitude that you know and love, we fully expect this to be the perfect way to ring out your rock 'n' roll year…with the most exciting show and tour of 2023! So get ready to share the spotlight with FOZZY !"

FOZZY fall 2023 tour dates with SEVENTH DAY SLUMBER , THE NOCTURNAL AFFAIR and MAGDALENE ROSE :

Oct. 19 - Chattanooga, TN - Barrelhouse Ballroom Oct. 20 - Lexington, KY - Manchester Music Hall Oct. 21 - Angola, IN - The Eclectic Room Oct. 22 - Mchenry, IL - The Vixen Oct. 23 - Joliet, IL - The Forge Oct. 26 - Des Moines, IA – Wooly's Oct. 27 - Lincoln, NE - Bourbon Theater Oct. 28 - Sioux Falls, SD - Icon Event Hall Oct. 29 - Minneapolis, MN - Lyric Theater Oct. 30 - Fargo, ND - Sanctuary Events Center Nov. 02 - Lansing, MI - Gewal Hall Nov. 03 - Madison, WI - The Annex Nov. 04 - Wyandotte, MI - District 142 Nov. 05 - St Louis, MO - Hawthorn Theater Nov. 06 - Memphis, TN – Lafayette's

On the "Spotlight" release date, FOZZY will play a very special "Spotlight On London" live show at London, England's iconic O2 Forum Kentish Town. The concert will be FOZZY 's biggest to date, and completing a killer lineup, they will be joined by special guests MASSIVE WAGONS and the KRIS BARRAS BAND . August 25 will also be the on-sale date for FOZZY 's yet-to-be-announced February 2024 U.K. tour. The London show will take place on the same weekend as the AEW "All In" event at Wembley Stadium, with Jericho appearing in the biggest event in AEW 's history alongside FOZZY 's biggest ever show.

In a recent interview with Rock 100.5 The KATT 's Cameron Buchholtz , Jericho was asked if fans won't have to wait another five years to hear the follow-up to FOZZY 's 2022 album "Boombox" . He responded: "I think that maybe the days of doing full-length records for us are done. We spent the better part of three years on [ 'Boombox' ] and we had three Top 10 hits — 'Sane' , 'Nowhere To Run' and 'I Still Burn' — and we played three other songs live: 'The Vulture Club' , 'Purifier' , 'Relax' . But the other six songs are kind of gone; they're, like, residing in the FOZZY dead-song burial ground. Because you can't really play them live, 'cause you can only do so much new material live, 'cause we have so many other songs we have to do. And they weren't released as singles, so you spend all the time on 'Army Of One' and 'Omen' and 'The Worst Is Yet To Come' — those are all great tunes — 'My Great Wall' , 'Ugly [On The Inside]' ; those could all be hits. So instead of releasing those types of songs on an album where they're not gonna be heard, we're gonna, I think, start releasing one song at a time. And instead of waiting two years for a new FOZZY record, there'll be a new song every four or five months. I think that's the way to do it. And that's what we're gonna start doing. We're actually working on our new song right now, which should be out hopefully in the fall."

Jericho previously floated the possibility of FOZZY focusing on singles in an interview in April with the ALT 105.1 radio station. He said at the time: "I think [what] we're gonna try to do [going forward] is just release a single every three or four months and keep the product always there and not waste the songs. 'Cause that's what you're doing when you put out a great record. You spend so much time on every one of these songs, meticulously creating them and they're your children, and then they just never really… unless you buy the record and listen to the record. There's only so many songs you can play live from a new album when you have as many albums as we do. So that might be something we will look [to do] in the future — just doing one song at a time… And then every song you can release as a single and give it its chance to go where it's gonna go."

Jericho added: "I'm from the generation where you would go… When the new IRON MAIDEN [album] is coming out, you'd go down and take the bus every Saturday: 'Is it out yet? No.' And then finally you walk through and you hear the music and you see the wall of MAIDEN records. That was such a great moment in a kid's life. But things have changed. No kid knows what a record store is now. You just go on Spotify and listen to the songs you wanna hear. So you've gotta roll with the times. Obviously, putting out a new record is a piece of art, but I think song by song you can do the same. Plus you get a different cover for every one. So I think it just adds to more of a marketing plan. I think it's just better for the music itself as well."

The official music video for "I Still Burn" recently eclipsed 2.5 million views.

FOZZY recently hit the road with UGLY KID JOE as part of the latter band's first tour of the United States in 27 years.

In January 2022, FOZZY parted ways with longtime drummer Frank Fontsere and replaced him with Grant Brooks ( THROUGH FIRE ).

Fontsere was a founding member of FOZZY , having formed the group in 1999 with Jericho and Rich Ward (guitar).

When FOZZY announced Fontsere 's departure, the band said that he was "stepping down to focus on his family and other projects."

FOZZY is Jericho , Ward , Brooks , Billy Grey (guitars) and P.J. Farley (bass).

More on Fozzy

After touring the world and building a loyal fanbase for the better part of twenty years, Fozzy is the epitome of what a killer rock n roll band should be: catchy, groovy, hooky, sweaty, and most importantly, a GREAT EFFEN TIME!

With six consecutive TOP 20 singles, Fozzy is steadily becoming one of the most successful bands on Modern Rock Radio, with their breakthrough massive smash song “Judas” achieving Gold Record status of 500,000 units sold in February of 2022!

Rich Ward is one of the most versatile, talented riff machines & songwriters in rock n roll today. Chris Jericho’s skills as a frontman are second to none and his vocal style & range are both powerful and instantly recognizable. The spirited drumming of Grant Brooks compliments the blazing solos of Billy Grey and the rock star energy of bassist PJ Farley. These are five seasoned pros, whose electricity and charisma light up every stage they play on and every crowd they perform for. As a result, it’s no surprise that Fozzy has skyrocketed into one of the hottest rock acts in the world today.

The band inched up the ladder after releasing four progressively popular studio albums in the 2000’s. However, it was 2012’s “Sin And Bones”, which featured the hit single “Sandpaper” (over 4.6 MILLION views on YouTube) that found the band reaching a level of legitimacy that drew a mass audience to drink in their trademark heavy melodic groove. The album eventually reached #143 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart, but it was their next album, “Do You Wanna Start A War” (produced by Ward), released in the summer of 2014, that really blew the door open, debuting at #54 on Billboard and giving the band their first top 30 single in “Lights Go Out” which was blared in sports arenas nationwide.

But as much success as the band had enjoyed, nothing compared to the juggernaut of 2017’s “Judas” album. Released in May 2017, the aforementioned title track spent 5 weeks at NUMBER ONE on the highly influential ‘Big Uns Countdown’ on Sirius/XM’s Octane channel, amassed over 62 MILLION views for its video on YouTube, cracked the TOP 5 on the US Rock Radio Charts and is still heard by millions of fans worldwide weekly on TBS Network’s hugely popular “AEW Dynamite” program. The follow-up singles “Painless” hit Number 9 on the charts (11 MILLION views on YouTube), “Burn Me Out” peaked at Number 18. The current record “Boombox” features “Nowhere To Run” which cracked the Top Ten, “Sane”, (with its roller coaster themed video – one of the most thrilling & heart stopping ever made) landing at Number 8 followed by “I Still Burn” which peaked at #7, scoring a trifecta of singles for “Boombox” released May 6, 2022.

Now, with those massive songs in their arsenal, Fozzy has returned to the road with tours in the US, UK, and Australia. After sharing the stage in recent years with Metallica, Kiss, Iron Maiden, Avenged Sevenfold, Shinedown, Slash, Three Days Grace, Nickelback, Steel Panther & Buckcherry, Fozzy is stoked to continue to bring good times and kick ass tunes to their fans around the world… and elsewhere!

So get ready to experience the majesty and power of Fozzy LIVE once again and for Judas’ sake…please wear a helmet!

FOZZY ANNOUNCE 10-DATE 'SPOTLIGHT ON UK' HEADLINE TOUR FEBRUARY 2024

  • February 12, 2024
  • UK Music News
  • by Desh Kapur UK-Editor/Photographer

NEW SINGLE ‘SPOTLIGHT’ OUT OCTOBER 2023

Following a storming headline show at London’s O2 Kentish Town Forum this summer, powerhouse band  FOZZY have announced a 10-date UK headline tour for February 2024. Ready to rock cities such as London, Manchester and Glasgow to their foundations, they will also be heading further afield to the likes of Northampton and Buckley, bringing their heavy melodic groove to the masses for one hell of a party.

“The UK has always been the second home for Fozzy and we always look forward to rockin with all of you!  The Spotlight tour is our biggest UK tour ever and we are stoked to bring the Fozzy party to your shores with new songs, a new show and the same Fozzy intensity & fun factor that you’ve come to demand and expect from us!”   Chris Jericho / FOZZY

With the superstar showmanship of frontman Chris Jericho tag-teamed with guitar genius Rich Ward,  FOZZY are a band that deliver a truly rock n roll experience – a sonic assault of headbanging riffs, energy and most importantly, amazing songs. The backbone of their sound comes from the killer combination of Grant Brooks on drums, bassist PF Farley and Billy Grey leading the charge on guitar shredding solos. It’s only good times and guaranteed electric performances no matter the crowd or country.

More on Fozzy: After touring the world and building a loyal fanbase for the better part of twenty years, Fozzy is the epitome of what a killer rock n roll band should be: catchy, groovy, hooky, sweaty, and most importantly, a GREAT EFFEN TIME!

More on Seventh Day Slumber: As a consistent force in the music industry for nearly 20 years, Seventh Day Slumber still performs over 150 dates per year. The band has brought a fresh new feel to their signature sound, creating the heaviest and most powerful music of their career. The title track of their 2022 album “Death By Admiration” was co-written with Telle Smith and features The Word Alive. Produced by Memphis May Fire’s Kellen McGregor, “Death By Admiration” debuted at #69 on the Billboard Top 200 and landed a top 25 position on Billboards Mainstream Rock Chart. The energy and momentum of their latest release led to several nationwide tours, including direct support for Fozzy on their upcoming “Save The World Tour” and Saliva’s recent winter tour. The band is currently back in the studio with Kellen McGregor working on their follow-up album, “Feasting On Vultures,” slated to drop on September 22nd. Check out www.seventhdayslumber.com for tour dates.

More on The Nocturnal Affair: The Nocturnal Affair is an alternative/dark rock project headed by singer/songwriter Brendan Shane, from Las Vegas. The band’s crushing and melancholic musical style is an ode to darker alternative music torchbearers like Type O Negative, HIM, David Bowie, Gary Numan, and Nine Inch Nails. They capture a uniquely haunting sound steeped in downtrodden melodies enveloped in the darkness.

The band released their debut single, “Down”, on Earache Records in November of 2021, from their first album, (META)MORPHOSIS, which was produced by Grammy-nominated Disturbed bassist, John Moyer. To coincide with the release of the album in April of 2022, the band embarked on their first national tour opening for rock veterans, Fozzy. In the fall of 2022 The Nocturnal Affair hit the road again for shows with Beartooth, Gemini Syndrome, and Earshot. The group has performed alongside a wide array of artists from heavy metal heavyweights like HELLYEAH, Asking Alexandria, and Pop Evil, as well as Industrial rockers My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult. They have toured with the vampiric act The 69 Eyes while also being accessible enough to share the stage with notable mainstream acts like 3 Doors Down and Black Stone Cherry.

Their latest single “It’s No Good” is their take on Depeche Mode’s chart-topping hit from ‘97. An homage to some of the music that made Nocturnal who they are. To coincide with this release, The Nocturnal Affair embarked on Spring and Summer tours with both Fozzy and Smile Empty Soul, respectively. “It’s No Good” has been climbing the SMR charts, breaking the Top 20 in only a few weeks. A follow-up single and further national touring is projected for this Fall.

More on Magdalene Rose: Magdalene Rose is a powerhouse of raw talent and passion, known for her energetic vocals and powerful and catchy metal music. After starting out in the all-female rock band GFM, Magdalene has since gone on to make a name for herself with her solo project, backed by a group of insanely talented musicians. Magdalene Rose is a master of metal, with an infectious energy and a fiercely devoted fan base. Her highly successful single, Shark Spray, is out now.
