Phoebe Bridgers and Taylor Swift perform their duet "Nothing New" on the Eras Tour.

Taylor’s Eras Tour Set List Gets An Extra Song When Phoebe Bridgers Is The Opener

Wait, this is so major!

In case you thought 44 songs just wasn’t enough , Taylor Swift upped her Eras Tour set list to 45 songs, but only on a few specific dates. And those dates are the ones where Phoebe Bridgers is on the lineup as an opener. Bridgers finally made her Eras debut on May 5 at the Nashville concerts, and not only did she bring out some exciting surprise guests during her own set, she also returned to the stage during Swift’s set to perform their duet “Nothing New.”

Bridgers pulled out all the stops for her Eras Tour opening set list, which includes her own solo hits as well as beloved songs from her supergroup boygenius . Prior to her Eras debut on May 5, fans speculated about whether Bridgers would bring her fellow boygenius band members on stage at all, and thankfully, she did! Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus joined her to perform the hit boygenius single “Not Strong Enough,” as well as “I Know the End.” It’s unclear if Baker and Dacus will be able to join Bridgers for all her Eras dates (Bridgers is scheduled to open every show in May), but hopefully they’ll pop up again from time to time.

The boygenius segment was the icing on the cake of Bridgers’ opening set. Before that, she performed her solo hits like “Kyoto” and “Motion Sickness.” Check out the set list below:

It should be noted that Bridgers’ set list does fluctuate a bit. On her second night in Nashville, Bridgers added “DVD Menu” to the list , and replaced “Not Strong Enough” with “Cool About It.”

And the surprises didn’t stop there. Bridgers became the first Eras Tour opener to join Swift on stage during the main concert, where they performed their duet from Red (Taylor’s Version) , “Nothing New.” After they repeated the performance the next night, fans confirmed that Swift had added “Nothing New” to her set list for the dates when Bridgers was present.

So if you’re one of the lucky ticketholders who’s attending the Eras Tour before Bridgers’ final show as an opener on May 28, you can look forward to a very special extra song.

Taylor has 'reset' the surprise song list, which means anyone attending a show in 2024 can anticipate hearing a song she's already performed. She previously stated that she will only play each surprise song once during the tour, unless she messes one up.

There's also no rules for Taylor repeating songs from Midnights as surprise songs, which means fans may get to hear the likes of 'You're On Your Own Kid' and 'Snow on the Beach' again at some point in the future.

We'll update this article with every Surprise Acoustic Song – and every surprise song that she will play again – after every show.

Will Taylor Swift change the Eras Tour setlist to include The Tortured Poets Department?

Will Taylor Swift change the Eras Tour setlist for the international shows?

As of March 9th 2024, the Eras Tour setlist has remained the same as the U.S. leg. However, with the release of The Tortured Poets Department in April, things could change. More on that further down the page.

Fans attending the European shows might end up hearing Taylor perform 'Castles Crumbling' with Hayley Williams as an additional song during the Speak Now section, as Paramore will be supporting her throughout those tour dates. (Both Phoebe Bridgers and HAIM joined Taylor on stage to perform 'Nothing New' and 'No Body, No Crime' respectively on the nights they were support acts.)

After completing her shows in South America, Australia, Japan and Singapore, Taylor is now set to pick the tour back up in Europe in May 2024 and run through to mid-August, before returning to North America in November 2024.

Will Taylor Swift change the Eras Tour setlist to include The Tortured Poets Department ?

Taylor's brand new album will be released on April 19th, just before she embarks on the European leg of the Eras Tour.

We won't know for sure whether or not the official setlist will change to accommodate those songs until she kicks off the Eras Tour in Paris on May 9th.

It's unclear if she will add a new TTPD section to the tour, but it's looking very likely that Taylor will perform some of those new songs as surprise songs. We'll update this article as soon as we know more!

What are Taylor's most performed songs on tour?

Before she embarked on The Eras Tour, Taylor’s top 3 most performed songs are ‘Love Story’ (491 times), ‘Our Song’ (404 times) and ‘You Belong With Me’ (381 times).

Of course, almost all of Taylor’s most performed songs are from her first two albums. As the list goes on, the Speak Now bops, Red bangers and 1989 hits start to weave their way in.

If you’re wondering what Taylor’s most played songs from her first five albums are, here’s a break down:

  • Taylor Swift : ‘Our Song’, ‘Tim McGraw’ and ‘Picture To Burn’
  • Fearless: ‘Love Story’, ‘You Belong With Me’ and ‘Fifteen’
  • Speak Now : ‘Sparks Fly’, ‘Mean’ and ‘Mine’
  • Red : ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’, ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’ and ‘Red’
  • 1989 : ‘Shake It Off’, ‘Blank Space’ and ‘Out of the Woods’

Taylor has only had the chance to perform songs from Reputation on the Reputation Stadium Tour so far, but ‘Ready For It?’, ‘Delicate’ and ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ take the top spots when it comes to live performances of the Rep tracks.

Due to the cancellation of Lover Fest, Taylor hasn’t been able to perform Lover on a tour setting. Folklore, Evermore and Midnights will also be making their tour debut on the Eras Tour.

Taylor Swift, The Eras Tour

Swift explained in an Instagram post announcing The Eras Tour in November 2022 that the tour will be a “journey through the musical eras” of her past 10 albums: 2006’s Taylor Swift ; 2008’s Fearless ; 2010’s Speak Now ; 2012’s Red ; 2014’s 1989 ; 2017’s Reputation ; 2019’s Lover ; 2020’s Folklore and Evermore ; and 2022’s Midnights . “I’m enchanted to announce my next tour: Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour, a journey through the musical eras of my career (past and present!) The first leg of the tour will be in stadiums across the US, with international dates to be announced as soon as we can! Feeling like the luckiest person alive because I get to take these brilliant artists out on tour with me: @paramore, @radvxz, @phoebebridgers, @girlinred, @whereismuna, @haimtheband, @gracieabrams, @gayle and @owennmusic. I can’t WAIT to see your gorgeous faces out there. It’s been a long time coming 🥰

In a TikTok comment in November 2022, Swift confirmed that “Delicate,” her third single from Reputation , will be on the set list for The Eras Tour. The confirmation came after a TikTok user named Alex posted a video of her singing along to 2018 clip of Swift performing “Delicate” on her Reputation Tour. “Petition to bring this back for eras tour,” the user wrote on the video. Swift responded in the comments with “Done.”

At 3 a.m. ET on October 21, 2022, three hours after the release of Midnights , Swift announced that she released seven more songs as part of a deluxe version of the album  titled Midnights (3am Edition). “ Surprise! I think of Midnights as a complete concept album, with those 13 songs forming a full picture of the intensities of that mystifying, mad hour. However! There were other songs we wrote on our journey to find that magic 13,” she tweeted at the time. She accompanied the tweet with a post that explained that the time 3 a.m. means to her. “What keeps you up at night? It’s a momentary glimmer of distraction,” she wrote. “The tiniest notion of reminiscent thought that wanders off into wondering, the spark that lights a tinderbox of fixation. And now it is irreversible. The flame has caught. You’re wide awake.”

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour is a cultural phenomenon. With unprecedented demand, smashed world records and a staggering 44-song setlist, the Eras tour spans Swift’s entire discography, chronicling all the various eras and albums of the Midnights singer’s career.

From the mad scramble to buy tickets that crashed Ticketmaster’s website to guest appearances from the likes of Taylor Lautner, Joey King, Haim and Phoebe Bridgers, Swift brings new surprises for her fans at each stop.

As the first round of Swift’s Eras Tour approaches its last dates in Los Angeles, The Hollywood Reporter has compiled the biggest highlights from the tour so far.

Fans Crash Ticketmaster Presale

A ticketmaster website

Before the Eras Tour even began, it was making history. During the rush to buy tickets after five-plus years of waiting, the retailer site Ticketmaster crumbled, with many experiencing multiple hour-long waits and the majority of fans not being able to secure tickets. According to Ticketmaster, the demand was unprecedented and led to no tickets being available as a part of the general sale. Ticket prices soared above $1,000 for the cheapest seats on the resale market, leading to congressional hearings that included more than a few tongue-in-cheek Swift references.

"22" Hat Giveaways — Selena Gomez’s Sister, Kobe Bryant’s Daughter

Singer-songwriter Taylor Swift (L) and NBA player Kobe Bryant speak onstage during The 1989 World Tour Live In Los Angeles at Staples Center on August 21, 2015 in Los Angeles, California.

It’s a nightly ritual at the Eras Tour for Swift to gift her black fedora hat to one lucky fan in the audience during her performance of Red hit song “22.” At an Arlington, Texas, show on April 1, Swift stopped to say hello to Selena Gomez’s 9-year-old sister, Gracie, who was in attendance with the Only Murders in the Building star, to exchange the hat for a friendship bracelet. Similarly, during her Thursday night show at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, the Eras performer shared a sweet moment with Kobe Bryant’s daughter Bianka Bryant. The pair hugged as Swift placed the hat on Bianka’s head.

In 2015, the late Lakers legend joined Swift onstage at the then-Staples Center during her 1989 tour, surprising her with a championship-style banner in honor of her record-breaking 16 sold-out shows at the arena.

'Speak Now (Taylor's Version)' Announced in Nashville

At her first Nashville stop on May 5, Swift treated fans to the highly anticipated announcement that album rerelease Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) would drop on July 7. As expected, the artist teased the announcement days before the show, posting a purple heart emoji on social media. Before launching into Speak Now track and surprise song of the night “Sparks Fly,” Swift debuted a first look at the album cover on the big screens of Nissan Stadium, while purple lights lit up the Nashville’s Cumberland River bridge.

“You know how I love to plan things, and how I love to surprise you with the things I plan,” she said onstage. “It’s my love language with you — I plot, I scheme, I plan and I get to tell you about it.”

It fills me with such pride and joy to announce that my version of Speak Now will be out July 7 (just in time for July 9th, iykyk 😆) I first made Speak Now, completely self-written, between the ages of 18 and 20. Haim Takes the Stage for "No Body, No Crime"

Este Haim, Taylor Swift, Danielle Haim and Alana Haim perform onstage during Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour at Levi's Stadium on July 28, 2023 in Santa Clara, California.

Swift’s real-life besties from sibling trio band Haim joined the Speak Now singer onstage in Seattle on July 22. Together, the friends performed their Evermore collab “No Body, No Crime,” marking the first live performance of the song on the Eras Tour. With the girl band announced as one of the opening acts for the tour, fans expected Haim to appear at least once to perform alongside Swift.

Ice Spice Collabs With Swift on "Karma" Remix

Ice Spice and Taylor Swift perform onstage during "Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour" at MetLife Stadium on May 27, 2023 in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

On the day she released the Midnights album extended version The Til Dawn Edition , Swift brought out one of her newest collaborators Ice Spice onto New Jersey’s Metlife Stadium stage. The rapper, who features on a remix edition of Midnights hit song “Karma,” joined Swift onstage to perform her verse and close out the show for three nights in a row.

Phoebe Bridgers Performs Vault Track "Nothing New" While Opening for Swift

Phoebe Bridgers and Taylor Swift perform onstage during night two of Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour at Nissan Stadium on May 06, 2023 in Nashville, Tennessee.

Across the Nashville, Philadelphia, Massachusetts and New Jersey legs of the tour, Phoebe Bridgers joined Swift as not only an opening act, but also a stage partner. With acoustic guitars in hand, Bridgers and Swift took to the Eras stage multiple times to perform their fan-favorite vault track from Red (Taylor’s Version) , “Nothing New.” On Bridgers’ final night on the tour at MetLife, the friends shared heartfelt goodbyes on stage. “You are my hero,” Bridgers told Swift onstage, with Swift responding: “Thank you for being the friend that you’ve been to me.”

“Long Live” Is Added to the Set List

Taylor Swift performs onstage during "Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour" at SoFi Stadium on August 03, 2023 in Inglewood, California.

After the release of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) , fan-favorite song “Long Live” off the album entered the set list. Presumably, until that point Swift had previously avoided performing too many songs off of Speak Now so as not to promote any tracks owned by Scooter Braun.

"I Can See You" Video Drops With Special Guest Appearances: Taylor Lautner, Presley Cash and Joey King

(L-R) Presley Cash, Taylor Swift, Joey King and Taylor Lautner speak onstage for night one of Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on July 07, 2023 in Kansas City, Missouri.

The hit single off Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) was the new “From the Vault” track “I Can See You,” which became a radio hit and charted on Billboard. To announce the music video she directed for the track, Swift brought out the video’s stars, including ex-boyfriend Taylor Lautner along with Presley Cash and Joey King, on stage at the Eras Tour in Kansas City. Lautner performed a backflip, a nod to his scene with Swift in the 2010 film Valentine’s Day. “He and his wife have become some of my closest friends, and it’s very convenient because we all share the same first name,” said Swift onstage during the video announcement.

Two Surprise Songs at Each Show

Taylor Swift The Eras Tour

Every single stop of the tour, Taylor Swift has performed two surprise songs that are unique to that tour stop, only repeating a handful of tracks from amongst her vast discography. Fans have tracked the songs online via Twitter — even maintaining complex spread sheets — hoping to get one of their favorites that isn’t a part of the main set list as a “surprise song.” Highlights have included “Hits Different,” “Death by a Thousand Cuts,” “Our Song,” “Tim McGraw” and many more.

Taylor Swift Fans Cause an Earthquake

Guests attend the "Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour" at SoFi Stadium on August 03, 2023 in Inglewood, California.

At the Eras Tour stop in Seattle, fans partied so hard they caused the equivalent of a small earthquake . This rivaled Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch’s “Beast Quake” from 2011, thought Swift came out as the clear winner when measured on the Richter scale.

Taylor Swift Announces ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’

Taylor Swift performs onstage of "Taylor Swift The Eras Tour"

On the last night of the first leg of her U.S. tour, Swift revealed that 1989 (Taylor’s Version) will release Oct. 27. Throughout her performance at sixth night of Eras Tour shows at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, the singer teased the announcement by wearing several blue outfits to celebrate the occasion. Following the announcement, fans were treated to 1989 track “New Romantics.” The rerecorded version will feature 21 songs, including five previously unreleased songs from The Vault as described on Swift’s website.

“Surprise!! 1989 (Taylor’s Version) is on its way to you,” Swift wrote on social media. “The 1989 album changed my life in countless ways, and it fills me with such excitement to announce that my version of it will be out October 27th. To be perfectly honest, this is my most FAVORITE re-record I’ve ever done because the 5 From The Vault tracks are so insane. I can’t believe they were ever left behind. But not for long!”

Taylor Swift Nashville concert review: 5 moments from her return on the 'Eras' tour

phoebe bridgers eras tour songs

Believe the hype.

The 'Eras' tour arrived Friday in Nashville with a mountain of expectations. Three nights in a stadium? In the city where her career started? After a mad dash for tickets? And it's her first major tour in nearly five years?

A normal entertainer may balk at these stakes. But Taylor Swift isn't like other entertainers.

Music City's three-night run on the most talked-about tour of the year kicked off Friday inside Nissan Stadium with record-smashing singalongs, show-stopping duets and an only-in-Nashville surprise. Behind Swift's unmatched ambition and sharp-eyed fanfare, it was the kind of show that'll be talked about long after the final song ended.

Not too bad for a girl who moved to Hendersonville nearly two decades ago to chase her songwriting dreams.

Taylor Swift in Nashville: What surprise songs did she song on storm-delayed night 3?

"This dream that I've had since I was so little I can't even remember first having it, this dream came true for me because of this town and the people in it and the love and nurturing and support I received from this town," she said to kick off Friday's show. "I can't tell you how many feelings I have right now."

From swelling crowds to surprise announcements, read on for five highlights from inside opening night of the 'Eras' tour at Nissan Stadium.

Her marathon era

Like the name suggests, Swift covers so much ground in this show. With a 45-song set spanning 10 albums in nearly three-and-a-half hours, 'Eras' embraces a marathoner spirit typically reserved for catch-'em-while-you-can rock icons like Bruce Springsteen and Paul McCartney.

But unlike blasting "Born To Run" or leading a spontaneous singalong to "Hey Jude," Swift choreographs her set like a conductor would lead an orchestra or a director would deliver a musical. Each moving part — dancers, band members, set pieces — plays a role in telling a story of the "era" being chronicled on stage.

Backed by towering screens and flanked by her reliable dancers, Swift opened the show by inviting her audience into the rainbow-drenched songs of 2019 album "Lover" before donning a sun-soaked dress in a callback to 2008's "Fearless" and embracing a J.R.R. Tolkien-like fantasy for a handful of spellbinding cuts from 2020 album "Evermore." She traveled through the eras in distinct acts with full and abridged songs — like a stadium-sized Broadway production that at one moment soaked the audience in red lighting and backdrops (because, you know, "Red") before recreating a fireside hang for the folk-tinged "Betty" and other songs off Grammy Award-winning album "Folklore."

She offered a fresh spin on well-worn eras — sometimes literally, like when her backup dancers rode beach cruisers across the stage during "Blank Space" — and gave plenty of attention to the four (!!!) albums released since she last embarked on a coast-to-coast tour, including "Anti-Hero," "Bejeweled" and more from the set-closing "Midnights" era.

Her record-breaking era

Swift invited plenty of company to join Friday night's career-spanning adventure. An audience of nearly 70,500 attended the show, setting a single-night Nissan Stadium attendance record, eclipsing past concerts and professional sporting events.

"Oh my beloved Nashville, you're making me feel so good right now," Swift said early in the show. "Tonight is the highest-attended event to take place in the stadium because 70,000 of you decided to hang with us this evening."

And the benchmark may not hold for long. With two more shows slated for this weekend, Swift could break her own record before leaving town.

Her fans' era

They dress for the occasion. They sing along to every word (even when it's 10-minute redux of "All Too Well"). They don't leave the stands until the last note rings out. Beyond songwriter, Swift's superpower may be the dedicated fandom that'll follow her through each cryptic clue, ticketing rush and re-recorded album.

On Friday, these so-called Swifties turned out with bejeweled eye pieces (because "Bejeweled"), head-to-toe cloaks (because "Willow"), snake-covered t-shirts (because "Reputation") and tie-dye pastels (because "Lover"). Some came ready to hear songs that climbed the charts before they were born, while others reveled in re-living eras from life's formative years.

And as each new song kicked in, they jumped at a chance to shout each word — like a group of friends passing around the aux cable on a late night filled with unforgettable songs. Only instead of a designated DJ, they're singing along with Swift.

Or, as Swift described her crowd at one point Friday night: "You guys are, like, on fire."

Her surprise era

After weeks of  well-placed clues and TikTok-fueled speculation , Taylor Swift confirmed Friday — mid-show, no less — which album comes next in her expansive "Taylor's Version" project: "Speak Now."

"I've been planning something for a while," Swift said as the Friday night audience exploded with applause. "It's my love language with you. I plot. I scheme. I plan. And then I get to tell you about it."

As the album title and July 7 release date flashed across the stadium screen, she added: "I think, rather than me speaking about it ... I'd rather just show you."

Swift put a bow on the "Taylor's Version" unveiling with an acoustic rendition of "Sparks Fly," a 2011 single off "Speak Now" before taking audience members back to her self-titled debut album with a piano-backed rendition of 2006's "Teardrops On My Guitar."

"Speak Now (Taylor's Version)" wasn't the only time Swift surprised her fans on Friday night, either. The singer enlisted "Eras" tour opener and indie-rock favorite Phoebe Bridgers for an acoustic duet of "Nothing New," a song the two released together on 2021's "Red (Taylor's Version)."

"This is a regular day in my life," Bridgers quipped as she stepped up the microphone hours after performing her own set.

Swift replied, "I feel the same, getting to sing this song with you for the very first time in a sold-out stadium."

Her openers' era

Bridgers played main support Friday, her first night on the "Eras" tour. As on-and-off rain covered the expansive stage, the singer-songwriter and her five-piece band ripped through dad-dedicated favorite "Kyoto," the sobering "Graceland Too" and other cuts from 2020 album "Punisher."

And the first surprise of the night came during Bridgers' set, when she invited Lucy Dacus and Nashville's own Julien Baker — AKA indie supergroup Boygenius — on stage to sing the trio's new single "Not Strong Enough." Running up and down the stage together, the Boygenius members backed Bridgers through her set-closing number "I Know The End."

"We gotta talk about this," Swift said during her set. "You got to see a genius, a friend ... our creative savoir. I can't believe [Phoebe's] on tour with us."

Meaning of The Eras Tour - Opening Setlist by Phoebe Bridgers

In the enchanting world of Phoebe Bridgers' "The Eras Tour - Opening Setlist," the singer-songwriter takes us on a lyrical journey that intricately weaves together various themes. While the song itself may not exist independently, it is a compilation of her most iconic works, carefully selected to create a seamless experience for fans. This amalgamation serves as a celebration of growth, resilience, and the bittersweet beauty found in life's transitions. One standout lyric that encapsulates the overarching theme is found in "Motion Sickness." Bridgers hauntingly sings, "I hate you for what you did, and I miss you like a little kid." This line represents the duality of emotions Phoebe experiences, highlighting the complicated nature of relationships and how they can simultaneously bring us pain and longing. It speaks to the human capacity to hold conflicting feelings, reminding us that love and hurt often intertwine in our hearts.Moving on to "DVD Menu," the artist paints a nostalgic picture with lyrics like, "I know it's a self-fulfilling prophecy, but you'd think I'd learn by now." Here, Phoebe explores the theme of introspection and the cycle of repeating past mistakes. It delves into the concept of growth and how we often find ourselves trapped in familiar patterns, whether it be in relationships or personal choices. This lyric serves as a gentle reminder to break free from self-imposed limitations and embrace change."Garden Song" presents a metaphorical exploration of self-discovery, as Phoebe enthrallingly sings, "Someday I'm gonna live in your house up on the hill." This whimsical line symbolizes the journey of finding one's place in the world and the longing for stability. It represents the human desire to establish roots and create a home, both literally and metaphorically. Phoebe invites us to reflect on our own notions of belonging and the search for a sense of permanence amidst life's constant flux.In the captivating melody of "Kyoto," a lyric that stands out is "I'm gonna kill you if you don't beat me to it." This unexpected line explores the theme of self-sabotage and destructive tendencies. It delves into the darker aspects of the human psyche, where the desire for change and self-improvement can sometimes manifest as self-destructive thoughts or behaviors. It serves as a poignant reminder to foster a compassionate relationship with ourselves and our own growth."Scott Street" delves into themes of identity and loss, with the evocative line, "I'm the idiot with the painted face in the corner, taking up space, but I'm still on display." This powerful lyric explores the vulnerability of being seen, even at our most raw and broken. It touches upon the fear of being judged or dismissed, yet also carries a message of resilience and the courage to be unapologetically oneself, regardless of societal expectations."Moon Song," a tender ode to love and longing, contains the striking line, "But you're sick of me and I know why." This lyric delves into the theme of vulnerability, exploring the fear of abandonment and the anxiety that comes with it. It speaks to the inherent insecurities we all possess in relationships and the constant struggle to find reassurance and acceptance. It serves as a reminder to communicate openly and embrace vulnerability, even when it feels uncomfortable. The collaborative track "Not Strong Enough" with boygenius adds another layer of depth to the song. The poignant lyric "I'll go make everybody else afraid of me," explores the theme of resilience and the defiance born out of pain. It touches upon the strength that arises from overcoming adversity and the determination to rise above the circumstances that may have once held us back. Through this line, Phoebe reminds us that our struggles can become badges of honor rather than sources of shame or weakness. As the melodic journey continues with "Graceland Too," Phoebe presents the poetic line, "And I've been running around in circles, pretending to be myself." This lyric confronts the theme of authenticity and the act of wearing masks or assuming different personas to fit in or please others. It highlights the importance of self-acceptance and the recognition that true happiness can only be found by embracing our genuine selves, rather than conforming to societal expectations.Bringing the curtain down on this incredible journey, "I Know the End" represents a crescendo of emotions and themes. The lyric "The end is here" serves as a symbolic finale, exploring the theme of closure and new beginnings. It encapsulates the cyclical nature of life, where each ending is a prelude to a new chapter. It invites us to reflect on the bittersweet beauty found in transitions, reminding us that endings can be opportunities for growth, reinvention, and a fresh start."The Eras Tour - Opening Setlist" is not just a collection of songs, but a tapestry of emotions, experiences, and profound themes. Phoebe Bridgers masterfully weaves together a narrative that embraces vulnerability, growth, resilience, and the intricate dance of human relationships. It is an exploration of the human condition, inviting us to reflect on our own journeys, embrace change, and find solace in the power of music to heal and transform.

Meaning of The Gold (Phoebe Bridgers Version) by Phoebe Bridgers

Meaning of that funny feeling by phoebe bridgers.

Taylor Swift calls Phoebe Bridgers 'one of my favorite artists in the world.' Here's everything you should know about the indie-rock singer opening for Swift's Era's Tour.

  • Indie-rock musician Phoebe Bridgers is set to open for seven nights of Taylor Swift's Eras Tour.
  • The Eras Tour kicked off on March 17 in Glendale, Arizona, but Bridgers will join it in May.
  • The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter is a solo artist and a member of the supergroup boygenius.

Phoebe Bridgers started playing guitar at the age of 13.

Born in Pasadena, California, on August 17, 1994, Phoebe Bridgers took an interest in music at a young age. Although her mother encouraged her to play piano, she took to guitar instead.

"I f---ing hated being forced to do something," Bridgers told The New Yorker in 2020. "Reading music felt like math homework. Guitar was my rebellion."

At 15, Bridgers joined Sloppy Jane, a punk band comprised of all women. A few years later, she was accepted to the Berklee College of Music, but she opted to live and perform in Los Angeles instead.

She released her first album, "Stranger in the Alps," in 2017 but it was her second album, "Punisher" in 2020, that really made waves.

"Punisher" earned her Grammy nominations for best new artist and best alternative music album in 2021. For her song "Kyoto," a track on "Punisher," Bridgers was nominated for best rock performance and best rock song.

In 2020, Pitchfork called the album "marvelous," while Rolling Stone said it was "visionary."

Insider's Callie Ahlgrim named "Punisher" as one of the best albums of 2020 , calling it "an exquisite tapestry of emotions."

"The album feels like a best friend holding your hand, and the most cleansing heart-to-heart you've ever had on their bedroom floor," Ahlgrim wrote.

Before releasing "Punisher," which propelled her into mainstream fame, Bridgers also made music as a member of boygenius.

phoebe bridgers eras tour songs

Bridgers formed boygenius in 2018 with Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus, who are solo artists, as well.

The band released its first EP, "boygenius," in 2018 after Bridgers, Baker, and Dacus recorded it over four days, according to The New York Times . In 2020, the band released demos on Bandcamp in an effort to raise money for three nonprofit organizations.

In January 2023, boygenius announced its upcoming studio album, releasing three songs along with the announcement. The upcoming album, "The Record," is set to be released on March 31, 2023.

The three women frequently discuss their close friendships with one another in interviews.

"We're obsessed with each other. I like myself better around them," Bridgers told Rolling Stone in January 2023.

Bridgers' biggest inspiration is the late artist Elliott Smith.

It's no secret that Bridgers idolizes Elliott Smith, the singer-songwriter who died in 2003.

In 2020, Bridgers told NPR , "If someone doesn't like [Smith's] music, I actually feel like I'm not going to agree with them about anything. It informs everything I like."

Bridgers' music is frequently compared to that of Smith. In the same NPR profile, journalist Lindsay Zoladz commented on Smith's and Bridgers' similarly "evocative lyrics, melodious murmurs and stark, surprising bursts of bleak humor."

She's known for her signature skeleton costume.

In the music video for one of her most popular and critically acclaimed songs, "Kyoto," Bridgers wears a skeleton suit. She often wears variations to red-carpet events and performances.

At the Grammys in 2021, when she was nominated for four awards, she wore a Thom Brown outfit featuring a crystal-and-pearl skeleton.

She told E! News , "I wear a skeleton costume all the time, but one of the reasons I do is because I saw this Thom Browne dress forever ago and thought it was so cool. And I asked for it. I basically stole it."

Bridgers wore an abstract version of the skeleton suit when she performed on "Saturday Night Live" in 2021 , in a memorable performance which culminated in her smashing her guitar.

Bridgers dated Oscar-nominated actor Paul Mescal from 2021 to late 2022.

phoebe bridgers eras tour songs

Bridgers and Mescal were first acquainted via Twitter. In 2020, Bridgers posted a tweet in admiration of Mescal's performance in Hulu's "Normal People," and Mescal responded. The two made their first public appearance as a couple at the LACMA Art+Film Gala in November 2021. They made other red-carpet appearances together, including at the 2022 Met Gala.

They collaborated in their creative work — Mescal was featured in the music video for Bridger's song "Savior Complex" and made a cameo in her music video for "Sidelines."

In late 2022, reports of a potential split began to circulate, although Mescal — who was nominated for best actor at the 2023 Oscars for his role in "Aftersun" — declined to comment about it during a February 2023 interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

Bridgers has also not commented on the breakup reports, but she has been spotted with comedian, actor, and director Bo Burnham on multiple occasions, sparking rumors that the two are romantically linked.

She collaborated with Taylor Swift on a song on Swift's remastered version of her 2012 album, "Red."

phoebe bridgers eras tour songs

Swift's 2021 rerelease of "Red," renamed "Red (Taylor's Version)," contained a handful of never-before-released songs in addition to remastered tracks from the 2012 album. Swift reached out to Bridgers to feature her on "Nothing New,"  Insider's Callie Ahlgrim previously reported .

Swift told Seth Meyers that she recalled sending Bridgers a "very long text" when she asked her to sing a verse on the track.

"With Phoebe, I reached out and I sent her this song called 'Nothing New,' which I wrote when I was 22," Swift said. "I sent it to Phoebe and said, 'It would mean the world to me if you would do this as a duet.'"

Bridgers replied, "I've been waiting for this text my entire life."

In 2021, Bridgers spoke to Billboard about the experience recording "Nothing New" and her admiration of Swift.

"I just am so excited to have people take it at face value the day that it comes out because I got teary recording it," she said. "I just couldn't be more excited."

Bridgers has recently collaborated with other artists as well, including MUNA and SZA .

Bridgers is set to open for seven shows on Taylor Swift's Eras Tour, which kicks off March 17. Bridgers will join her in May.

In an Instagram post on November 1, 2022, Bridgers subtly announced that she'd be accompanying Swift on her highly anticipated Eras Tour for seven nights. She posted a slideshow that contained two photos of herself and Swift, and a graphic promoting the tour.

The two singer-songwriters are vocal admirers of one another . In January 2023, Bridgers told Rolling Stone, "[Swift is] such a deep, wise human being, and has not sacrificed fun at all. She validates those boundaries that people have tried to take from her for her whole life."

To Seth Meyers , Swift referred to Bridgers as "one of my favorite artists in the world."

The Eras Tour started on Friday, March 17 in Glendale, Arizona, with Paramore opening for Swift.

Bridgers will accompany Swift at concerts in Nashville, Philadelphia, Foxborough in Massachusetts, and East Rutherford in New Jersey. Those shows start May 5 and wrap up May 28.

Other artists, including Haim, Girl in Red, and Gracie Abrams, are set to open for Swift for the rest of her tour.

The Official charts should speak more about other artists!! ED, Taylor, Miley etc...!! these singers are already overrated and have world success...they don't need more ads or news about them!! why can't the OC speak about underrated artists more often!! a chance for us to get to discover them. So many of them deserve success but are not known to the public!! thanks the OC!

Taylor Swift Performs “Nothing New” With Phoebe Bridgers in Nashville

By Nina Corcoran

Phoebe Bridgers and Taylor Swift

Last night (May 5), during the first of her Eras Tour stops in Nashville, Taylor Swift surprised fans by bringing out Phoebe Bridgers to perform “Nothing New” together from Red (Taylor’s Version) . Both artists played acoustic guitar while singing the song in unison.

Swift pulled out all the stops for the first of her hometown shows last night. Near the end of the concert, she announced the next of her re-recorded early albums: Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is coming out July 7. In a social post, Swift later said there will be six previously unreleased tracks on it. The original version of the album was first released back in 2010.

Back in March, Bridgers presented Swift with the Innovator Award at the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards. During her introduction, she recalled discovering Swift on the country radio station with her mother and being moved by her songwriting. “Taylor has always told the truth,” said Bridgers. “She’s written songs from exactly where she is. Her music shifted genre in the same way life does—in the same way being 16 is totally incomparable to being 18, 22, 25, 28. I’m grateful that I’ve grown up in a world with Taylor Swift in it. Or, ‘The World (Taylor’s Version).’”

"[It's] a journey through the musical eras of my career (past and present!). The first leg of the tour will be in stadiums across the US, with international dates to be announced as soon as we can! Feeling like the luckiest person alive because I get to take these brilliant artists out on tour with me."

On Friday, a few days after the initial announcement, Swift added 8 more dates. "UM. Looks like I'll get to see more of your beautiful faces than previously expected… we're adding 8 shows to the tour," she tweeted alongside a photo of the newly updated schedule.

The Eras tour marks Swift's first time on the road since her 2018 global tour in support of her No. 1 album Reputation , which also featured a notable roster of one-off guest appearances including Shawn Mendes, Selena Gomez, Sugarland, Hayley Kiyoko, and more.

Midnights , Swift's 10th studio album of original material, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, moving nearly 1.6 million units across its first week of release. She also notched 10 songs simultaneously in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 song rankings chart following the album's release, making her the first artist in history to do so.

phoebe bridgers eras tour songs

Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour has been out for a week on Disney+ , and there's no doubt some dedicated fans have watched it 13+ times. The three-and-a-half-hour phenomenon is a bedazzled force that moves through 49 songs from Swift's 10 eras. The movie was shot over three nights in Los Angeles and included helicopter, drone and onstage camera angles. By now everyone knows the ringleader of The Eras Tour, but what about the cast and crew who shine alongside her?

Here's a look at Swift's six bandmates, four backup vocalists and 15 dancers featured in the film with the time stamps for when they appear on screen.

The Eras Tour band is led by Mike Meadows and Max Bernstein. Meadows has been with Swift for more than 15 years, starting on her "Fearless" tour. The guitarist also sings and plays keyboards, cello, harmonica and mandolin. In a cute TikTok, his wife shared a compilation video from Nissan Stadium about how proud she is . Swift places her arm on Meadows during "Love Story" at 33:12.

Max Bernstein rocks out on the guitar, keyboards and pedal steel, which is a steel guitar with pedals and knee levers. He shared a post on Instagram with the caption , "So incredibly grateful to be a little part of the biggest and best show." He joined Swift for the "Reputation Stadium Tour" in 2018. His parents are journalists Nora Ephron and Carl Bernstein, and his brother Jacob is a reporter for The New York Times. Bernstein is to the right of Swift and her "Fearless" heart hands at 26:12.

Paul Sidoti may be the most well known band member. His distinct rocker hair is almost as big as his stage presence. Sidoti has been a vocalist and guitarist with the singer since 2007. He is approachable on the tour and has taken photos with fans in the audience. Sidoti's website also says he's available for "online guitar, bass, and piano lessons via Zoom." Swift touches Sidoti's face during "You Belong With Me" while singing "you've got a smile that can light up this whole town" at 28:15.

Amos Heller is the bassist. Like many of Swift's bandmates, the husband and father of three has been with her since 2007. Heller picked up his first electric bass at 13. His cover of Metallica's "Blackened" shows he's a master thrasher. Swift struts with Heller during "You Belong With Me" at 27:58.

Ooomph! Matthew Billingslea is the drummer crashing the cymbals, beating the toms and pedaling the bass. In 2023, he was nominated for pop drummer of the year at the Drumeo Awards. Billingslea joined Swift's band in 2013 for the Red Tour. Billingslea pops up during "Fearless" at 25:38.

Rounding out the bandmates is Karina DePiano . The classically trained pianist gets a shoutout from the singer following Swift's performance of "Champagne Problems." DePiano performs an interlude at 50:35 while Swift sets a table before singing "Tolerate It." DePiano started 2024 with a Pianote nomination for pop pianist of the year .

'We sing it proudly'

The fearless ladies who make up Swift's choir are "The Starlights."

Up first is Melanie Nyema , the section leader. The vocal virtuoso has backed many artists including Gladys Knight, Sara Bareilles, Solange Knowles, Florence + The Machine and Imagine Dragons. She's been with Swift since 2012 when she performed "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" at the VMAs. Check out her spiritual version of "Gotta Have You." Nyema is left of Swift at 30:33 when she hugs "The Starlights."

Kamilah Marshall is the vocalist dance captain. Marshall came into the fold during the Red Tour. Her song "Canyon" showcases her writing and singing in an outpouring of gratitude. The Broadway actress has credits including "Hairspray" and "Lion King." In 2021, she told the Academic Magnet High School newspaper in South Carolina, "I know I’m supposed to be doing what I do.” You can also see her in the dinner scene of " All Too Well: The Short Film ." Marshall is the "cheer captain" on the left at 28:52 during the "Fearless" era.

Jeslyn Gorman joined Swift during her Red Tour. The vocal riffer has a song, "Falling Like Snow," and has toured with stars Meghan Trainor, Jason Derulo, Rita Ora and Nick Jonas. The Florida native and latte enthusiast moved to Los Angeles. Gorman, like the other "Starlights," thanked Swift on her birthday, "Your heart and generosity is beyond BEYOND. And just when I think you’ve DONE IT, you TOP THAT!" Gorman shimmies at 32:40.

Eliotte Woodford wears the purple "Speak Now" dress and bangs the side of her vitrine during the "Look What You Made Me Do" portion of the Eras Tour at 1:07:38. Woodford has been with Swift since 2013. The wife and mother graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, where she was a part of the a cappella group the "Mosaic Whispers." Her singing and dancing reel shows her early work with Swift .

'I don't wanna dance if I'm not dancing with you'

Fifteen dancers led by choreographer Mandy Moore and associate choreographers Amanda Balen and Jeremy Hudson create some of the most iconic moments during the 10 eras. Moore met Swift through mutual friend Emma Stone who worked with Moore on "La La Land." Her credits are extensive. Most recently, she put together the exemplary Ryan Gosling performance of "I'm Just Ken" at the Oscars.

Amanda Balen is the dance captain. The blond beauty hails from Ontario, Canada. She is famous among the Lady Gaga fandom for dancing in several of the star's music videos and being a part of the Roseland Ballroom residency in New York City in 2014. Balen has worked with Katy Perry and Pink. You can find her at 14:18 during "The Man" to the left of Swift.

Tori Evans lights up the stage. In her decade-plus career, the University of Arizona alumnus has been featured in Ricky Martin music video "Qué Rico Fuera" , swam in synchro-formation next to Beyoncé and strutted on "The Masked Singer ." Evans' resume also includes dancing for Cardi B, Mary J Blige, Jason Derulo and Maroon 5. Her dance teacher of 15 years, Lana Wright, told Morgan Hill Life , "Tori was always that ray of sunshine... I always knew Tori could accomplish her goals, if she really wanted it." You can catch Evans during "Blank Space." She hands Swift a glow-up club at 2:13:45.

Audrey Douglass has danced with the devil, in addition to many other television credits. The performer has boogied and waltzed on Netflix's "Lucifer," Apple TV+'s "The Morning Show," FX's "American Horror Story: 1984," Paramount+'s "1923" and "Dancing with the Stars." Douglass serves up sass as "Shay" in Dua Lipa's "Physical" work out video . Dancing runs in the family, because Douglass' older sister, Hannah, was one of the co-captain dancers on Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour . As the "Lover" house burns down, you can see Douglass to the left of Swift at 2:22:52.

Jan Ravnik (pronounced "yawn") is the smooth dancer who caught the eye of social media with his abs-olutely distracting "Lavender Haze" ladder dance . The Slovenian dancer has worked with Paula Abdul, Mariah Carey, Bruno Mars, Khalid and Luis Fonsi. Ravnik was awarded the "Best Dancer in Slovenia" and credited as the "Best Trainer/Choreographer" by the Slovenian Olympic committee. When he's not grooving on the international stage, he goes for long distance bike rides and takes artsy photos. You can see what's got the internet's attention at 2:36:46.

Taylor Banks strikes like a viper at 55:48, during "...Ready For It?" Banks was born in New Orleans, grew up in Pennsylvania and moved to Los Angeles to shine. The dancer has been moving to the beat since she was 3 and been featured with artists including Justin Timberlake, Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, Cher, Ciara, Chris Brown, Jessie J, The Jacksons, Jason Derulo, Dua Lipa, Billie Eillish and Beyoncé. The fitness model has repped brands like Nike, Reebok, Skechers and Under Armour.

Sydney Moss was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. The spunky and fun dancer moved to Los Angeles after high school and has worked with Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Doja Cat, Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez. Moss has a beautiful rendition of "You're Losing Me" with fellow dancer Jan Ravnik. She dresses Swift in her bejeweled blazer during "The Man" at 9:03.

Natalie Lecznar is a former Radio City Rockette. The Chapman University graduate married her college sweetheart. She was on Season 5 of "So You Think You Can Dance." The vibrant dancer is easy to spot with her fire-red locks. She is known for her performance in the "Folklore" era when she becomes Rebekah Harkness during the "Last Great American Dynasty" at 1:51:41.

Whyley Yoshimura , why don't you come on over and shake, shake, shake? The dancer notably flips his long hair, still smooth despite the humidity, during "Shake It Off" at 2:17:40. Yoshimura is a native Hawaiian who went to the Kamehameha Schools on Oahu. He started dancing for Janet Jackson at 18 and went on to be her assistant choreographer for the "Unbreakable Tour." He is an LGBTQI+ advocate for the Rainbow Railroad .

Raphael Thomas is the "Tolerate It" star at 54:02. The Jamaican's nickname is "The Sandman." He toured with Mary J. Blige on the "Good Morning Gorgeous" tour , was featured in Rihanna's "Savage X Fenty Show" on Amazon Prime, danced for Janet Jackson in the 85 West Music Festival and lit up the stage with Beyonce during her "Homecoming" performance at Coachella.

Kevin Scheitzbach polishes up real nice! The "Bejeweled" dancer gets a breakout moment at 2:47:13 strutting some of his best moves. Scheitzbach specializes in jazz funk and street styles of dance. He runs FlowXS , a choreography company, with his equally charismatic and talented brother Michael. The two grew up in Toronto, Canada.

Kameron Saunders is the only dancer with a speaking line that he switches up nightly at the Eras Tour during "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" at 1:26:33. The ebullient dancer also shines during a "Bejeweled" dance solo at 2:48:10. The Missourian was honored in Kansas City when the council dubbed Jan. 25 Kameron Saunders Day of Dance. You can catch him and his fast-footed moves in the ensemble of "The Color Purple" and "Spirited." Saunders' brother Khalen is a defensive tackle for the New Orleans Saints.

Natalie Peterson is a professional dancer, fitness instructor, dance educator and Amazon influencer . The Chapman University graduate specialized in Latin dance. Before the Eras Tour, she served as the assistant choreographer for Karol G’s "Bichota Tour" and got her Lagree Fitness certification. You can spot her twirling in "Style" on the right of Swift at 2:10:39.

Tamiya Lewis is the crowd pleaser who wheels the "Red" road case onto the stage. During the tour, she opens it to reveal song snippets from "State of Grace," "Holy Ground," "Red" and "Everything Has Changed" (depending on the show). That part was cut from the movie, but you still see her bringing the case onstage to unleash hundreds of red balloons at 1:20:12. The 21-year-old is an alumnus of the Velocity Dance Convention , a dance convention and competition that provides classes to dancers across the U.S.

Sam Mcwilliams is the lovable dancer who appears to the right of Swift at 2:09:56. If you don't blink, you can also catch his famous "Style" flip at 2:10:41. The Oregon native has been dancing for most of his life. Check out a video of him in 2017 dancing to Meghan Trainor's "Me Too." In 2021, he was named the Radix senior male core performer , and he almost made the top 12 on Season 17 of "So You Think You Can Dance." Recently, Mcwilliams showed off his lyrical, limber and tumble talents in a duet dance with fellow dancer Jan Ravnik .

Karen Chuang hands Swift her microphone during "The Man" at 9:26. A few seconds later as she's poring over a typewriter, Swift takes her paper and chucks it. Chuang is officially a Gleek as one of her first television appearances was as a Vocal Adrenaline dancer in "Another One Bites The Dust." She also performed in the 2016 "Grease Live!" and Lady Gaga's Super Bowl halftime show. Chuang graduated Summa Cum Laude from UCLA.

Matty Healy Joins Phoebe Bridgers During Her Opening Set at Taylor Swift's Eras Tour in Nashville

The longtime friends teamed up for the stadium tour stop, as Healy played guitar during the entirety of Bridgers' set

phoebe bridgers eras tour songs

Phoebe Bridgers had a special guest join her Saturday night at Taylor Swift 's Eras Tour!

During her opening set in Nashville, the Grammy nominee was joined by The 1975's Matty Healy — just days after The Sun reported that the musician, 34, was dating Swift, 33. Reps for both Swift and The 1975 did not immediately return requests for comment following the reports.

The team-up between Bridgers and Healy — whom she jokingly introduced to the crowd as "Mr. Matt Healy" — isn't anything new, as the pair have long been musical collaborators.

Bridgers was previously featured on The 1975's 2020 LP Notes on a Conditional Form , and also makes a cameo in their music video for Being Funny in a Foreign Language track " I'm In Love With You ."

The pair also shared the stage at the Ally Coalition benefit in December for a cover of Nico's "These Days" alongside Jack Antonoff and others.

Rocking Bridgers' go-to skeleton onesie, Healy was also joined on stage Saturday by her Boygenius bandmates Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker for a stacked opening set before Swift performed.

As for Healy and Swift, The 1975 vocalist was spotted at her Nashville date just a day before, having been snapped by concertgoers watching Swift perform at Nissan Stadium.

Never miss a story — sign up for PEOPLE's free daily newsletter to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from juicy celebrity news to compelling human interest stories.

Swift and Healy were rumored to have dated in 2014, though Healy previously denied that was the case. They have been friends for years and share a collaborator in Antonoff, who has worked with Swift extensively on her most recent projects and teamed up with The 1975 for 2022's Being Funny in a Foreign Language .

The dating rumors come weeks after PEOPLE confirmed Swift's breakup from actor Joe Alwyn after six years of dating, as sources claimed they split a few weeks beforehand. Swift has been on tour since mid-March.

Shortly after news broke of the split, a source close to the Grammy winner and the Conversations with Friends star told PEOPLE it was caused by "differences in their personalities."

Healy previously dated artist FKA twigs for close to three years , splitting in early 2022, as well as model Gabriella Brooks from 2015-2019. His band wrapped the Australian and Asian leg of their tour on Thursday in Manila and even welcomed Swift on stage for a show.

Swift made a surprise appearance at The 1975's first of two concerts at London's O2 Arena back in January, when she walked onstage during a break in the set to perform "Anti-Hero" and a cover of The 1975's "The City."

In September 2022, Healy initially dismissed talk of joining forces with Swift for her Midnights LP as "fake news," before admitting that he and his bandmates actually did work with the superstar on her latest album.

"We actually worked a bit on that but then the version of it never came out," Healy said in an interview with KROQ's Klein/Ally Show for Audacy's DTS Sound Space , adding that the collab was scrapped "for reasons that are not to be criticized."

"She's amazing," Healy added at the time.

‘Tortured Poets Department’: Our Burning Questions

By Brian Hiatt

Brian Hiatt

Swifties have known since early February that Taylor Swift has a new album, Tortured Poets Department , due April 19, with some notably provocative song titles (“So Long London,” “But Daddy I Love Him”) and big-name guest stars (Post Malone, Florence Welsh). But since then, information on the album has been scarce, so fans have more than filled the void, passing around possibly fake leaked snippets of songs while pranking each other with both ChatGPT-generated lyrics and a ridiculous viral parody where an AI-generated Taylor sings lines like, “I’m so happy my Travvy made it to the big game.”

Watch Phoebe Bridgers and Conor Oberst Reunite Better Oblivion Community Center

The audience at Oberst's Teragram Ballroom residency in Los Angeles last night didn't know what they were in for

By most accounts, boygenius is the superior supergroup that Phoebe Bridgers is a part of — but man, I really liked that Better Oblivion Community Centre self-titled album , too. After Bridgers and Conor Oberst released that record back in 2019, they went on tour, and the Bright Eyes frontman also appeared on 2020's Punisher .

Since then, the pair haven't really done anything together, and the internet has been all a flurry with rumours about the evolving nature of their relationship. But, despite her plans to "take a massive step back" in 2024 , Bridgers made an onstage appearance at one of Oberst's Conor Oberst and Friends residency shows at the Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles last night (March 21).

After Maria Taylor from Azure Ray came out for a couple of songs, Bridgers joined Oberst during the encores. He introduced her as having come "all the way from Pasa-dangerous, California" and they gave each other a big hug. The duo proceeded to make a beautifully harmonized duet out of the Bright Eyes' I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning staple "Lua," and performed BOCC's "My City" and Oberst's 2014 solo single "Double Life" from Upside Down Mountain together.

Check out fan-footage of the onstage reunion below.
