Great little shop that was long over due for the antelope valley. Whether you are stoping in for a quick question or you’re looking for that upgrade to fill your adventure needs, this shop and its staff have you covered.

I went to the grand opening and had a chance to speak with the owner. He’s a great honest guy who’s passionate about camping and overlanding. They only carry quality items, some that i personally use myself and some that I’m planning on buying. I was able to buy two front runner Wolfpack boxes and an element fire extinguisher that same day. It’s also nice to see all the cool rigs people bring on the second Saturday of each month for rigs and coffee. If you’re in northern LA county or passing by on the 14, I definitely recommend you try stopping by!

Product Description

The Cadac Safari Chef 30 HP is a portable and versatile gas BBQ, weighing only 4kg. It includes five interchangeable cooking surfaces: camping stove, BBQ, non-stick reversible griddle and wok/dome. The Safari Chef 30 HP is ideal for camping, hiking, fishing, caravanning and sports events. Incorporates foldaway supporting legs. Complete with carry case. This is the high pressure version of the Safari Chef 2 and operates from disposable threaded gas cannisters (not included but widely available in camping and hardware shops - including our own shop!). If you would like to use refillable gas cylinders, you must purchase the low pressure version instead.

Hey , I 'm thinking of buying a cadac safari chef 2 . I'm wondering which one i should buy .The hp or lP . The hp seems handy because you don't need an external gascartridge . but can you fold the legs with the cartdige still attached , you can't unscrew the cartridge when there's still gas left can you ? THe lp seems more a hastlte with hose and expansion valve ..  

It’s not what you have, it's where you wake up.

The LP has a higher output and have read on a couple of forums about people sending the HP back and getting the LP because just not getting hot enough to BBQ. It's a shame as I think the HP is a much neater setup. Yes you can remove the gas bottle even when half used. I have the LP and use 500g bottles as cheaper than Campingaz (when bought in bulk) and easier to carry. Seb  

I went for the HP despite the bad reviews online regarding it not being hot enough, and it seems absolutely fine to me.

Just bought a Cadac Safari Chef 2 plus pizza stone. Went for the LP as we will be taking two 907 bottles with us, one for the camping chef and the other a spare which can be used with the Cadac when required.

Hi, I got this ok. . Hmm, not sure of the answer as we are sporadic campers, and I don’t time our usage, but last year we spent 3 months in the van in France and Spain. We mostly ate in the van, so using the 904, it was early season, so didnt use the CADAC that much. I remember swopping the cylinder once in Spain, and then again in France ( as it was a problem to swop because the Spanish one was slightly different...finally found a check out guy that didn’t care!) We went over with a cyclinder that was not New, and I havent changed it since ( but we haven’t done any longer tips since, and haven’t been able to go this year as planned so they last pretty well, is all I can say. And , as before , the beauty is you can run the big one right out, and use your CADAC one, till you buy a top up.

The Cadac Safari Chef 2 is on our shopping list and we think that we’ve settled for the LP version; however, we’d like to travel light and like your idea of a smaller 901 canister rather than another 904 which we have installed already in the van. Not knowing too much about the various cylinder sizes, we were wondering (roughly) how many hours of continuous cooking the 901 canister would provide? We mostly ate in the van, so using the 904, it was early season, so didnt use the CADAC that much. I remember swopping the cylinder once in Spain, and then again in France ( as it was a problem to swop because the Spanish one was slightly different...finally found a check out guy that didn’t care!) We went over with a cyclinder that was not New, and I havent changed it since ( but we haven’t done any longer tips since, and haven’t been able to go this year as planned so they last pretty well, is all I can say. Go lp and buy the convertor. I've done this and my cadac will run almost any gas canister I can find. The adapter is for the en417 screw cans which are small for if you need to port your cadac to the beach or something. Then back at the van I use my spare 907. At the moment I'm using an old caravan butane bottle I found in the garage that I adapted to fit. So answer is LP all the way. I can photograph if anyone's interested my attachments. Fnarr fnarr

“Italian Chef, Great Food” Review of Aist

Aist Cafe is a great place to visit any time of the year. However if you go in the summer time you can eat outside on the ground floor patio, inside in the relaxed cafe style area, first floor with a more traditional restaurant lay out and watch the chefs at work or on the roof patio. The food is generally international leaning towards Italian due to the chef's origins. Fish courses are particularly good with fresh catch each day. The young staff are generally attentive and most speak some English. Though I did once witness the owner, Arkady Novikov cracking the whip on his staff. He does set high standards. All menus are Russian/English so finger pointing is no problem with the waiters for your choice! A good wine list though not unexpected prices are steep though there is normally a good South African or even a classy Graves under GBP100! After many visits I usually lean towards fish courses but this is purely down to taste. Expensive? Yes but the quality of food is good and generally the staff very helpful. If you want to be brave try ordering their specially brewed ginger tea it is addictive!

Went to Aist cafe a few times during my one week stay in Moscow. Excellent food. Sunday brunch was very delicious as well as the usual dinner menu. VERY nice and friendly staff. A friend of mine who doesn't speak any Russian was able to order in English and surprisingly got the right order. Considering how rude the crowd can be at other places it is impressive that these folks stay so chill and helpful. Interior decor is classy and cozy. Loved it so much especially the roof top. Highly recommend this place to both locals and visitors. I was impressed.

Visited this place with a business partner. The atmosphere was rather trendy with mostly an upscale younger crowd. The food was good - particularly enjoyed the fish baked in salt crust and the buratta salad - but the wine was really over priced and not that great.

Cooking area

This compact, versatile gas barbecue weighs less than 4 kg and comes with at least four different cooking surfaces; a burner with potstand, a BBQ grid, a grill plate and a lid/dome (the lid/dome can also be used as a pot).

The BBQ grid and grill plate are provided with CADAC GreenGrill coating; a ceramic coating for healthier and cleaner cooking. Thanks to the integrated heat diffuser under the BBQ grid, the heat is well distributed over the entire cooking surface.

The removable fat pan catches cooking residues, but at the same time protects the Safari Chef's burner from wind to prevent the burner from blowing out. You can easily clean all the surfaces with soapy water.

The Safari Chef is available as a low pressure unit (LP) and as a high pressure unit (HP). This HP version works directly on an EN417 gas cartridge. You simply screw the cartridge under the device, and then you can start to grill right away! The LP version works with a hose and pressure regulator on a refillable gas bottle or with a CADAC Power Pak . Note: gas bottle, pressure regulator and / or Power Pak are not included. 

The Safari Chef is easy to take with you thanks to the foldable legs and  convenient carrying bag. This is an ideal BBQ for use at the campsite, on the balcony or in the park!

As of 2021, the diameter of the BBQ has been added to the product name of the barbecue and its accessories. For example, the product name Safari Chef 2 has been changed to Safari Chef 30 and can be used with the accessories from the 30 series . HP means High Pressure and a HP barbecue works directly off a gas cartridge. Low Pressure (LP) barbecues work off a gas cylinder or Power Pak and can be connected with a regulator & hose.

Our cooking tops have a non-stick ceramic coating, making them easy to clean. Our portable barbecues & Citi Chefs have an enameled fat pan that can easily be removed and washed. Cleaning has never been this simple; just use a sponge and some water with detergent.

The burner box of CADAC Meridian barbecues have clean and smooth inside surfaces made from enamel coated steel or coated aluminium.The removable fat tray collects cooking residues. After grilling, you can easily remove the tray from the front of the barbecue for cleaning.

Most of our cooking surfaces are supplied with a ‘CADAC GreenGrill coating’. This ceramic coating is made from organic materials and doesn’t contain any toxic substances.

The CADAC GreenGrill is much more durable and harder than normal non-stick coating. It resists higher temperatures, divides the heat better and holds this heat, so less gas is used while grilling.

Cooking tops are very easy to clean with some water and detergent.
