What if it is raining?

We always run our tours rain or shine, but we understand that some people might not feel comfortable walking in the rain. If that’s the case, we have a few options to make the tour more enjoyable for you. We can stop at a cozy café for a warm drink while we wait for the rain to pass, and we can also spend more time inside monuments.

We do recommend that you come prepared for the weather, as Porto’s climate can be unpredictable. It’s a good idea to bring a waterproof jacket, comfortable shoes or boots for walking, and a scarf to protect yourself from the wind.

If the forecast is for heavy rain and you prefer to reschedule the tour for another day, we’re happy to accommodate your request (subject to availability). Just let us know as soon as possible so we can make the necessary arrangements.

Are restrooms available?

Yes, there are public restrooms available throughout the city and your guide will be happy to direct you to the nearest one during your tour.

Is the Half day tour of Porto appropriate for children?

While our half-day tour has a history-focused content that may not be ideal for very young kids, our guides are warm, funny, and great with children. We welcome families with kids to join us on our tours and make sure that everyone feels included and engaged.

Additionally, we always make a stop at Porto’s best ice cream shop during our tours, which is a hit with kids (and adults too!). So, bring the little ones along and let us show them the best of Porto!

Packaged together on the soft banks of the Douro River and set to the splashing sounds of the estuary tides, the haphazard medieval buildings of Porto’s downtown gleam in hues of red and yellow, orange and turquoise in the Atlantic sun. They’ve stood here for centuries, under the gothic apses of the Sao Francisco Basilica, in the shadow of the majestic baroque Clerigos Church, and as the art nouveau Dom Luís Bridge was built up around them, all the while playing witness to the mercantile might of Porto ebb and flow through its waterways and harbours. With such a history it’s not surprising that most guests here head straight for the UNESCO-attested old town of Ribeira, where it’s possible to wander aimlessly for hours amidst the mysterious shadows of grand steeples and spires to boot. In the United Kingdom, I graduated in Information Systems and returned to Porto to get a Master's degree in Management. During my degree in the United Kingdom, I made friends with students from various corners of the world: Italians, Germans, French, Senegalese, Thais, Malawians, Turks, Poles, Czechs, etc., also living in students accommodations in the university campus, where the kitchens were shared, one of the things that gave me greater pleasure, was to share our different gastronomies, besides, each one love to mention what can best be discovered in each country and in their native cities, without forgetting soccer preferences! At the same time, I got a part-time job on the weekends at the Holiday Inn Hotel, to help with my expenses. There where I worked nights in the bar and restaurant. Here, once again, I shared and heard stories from the four corners of the world from my colleagues and guests. Then, on my return to Portugal and after taken a Master degree in Business Management at FEP (Faculty of Economics of Porto), I started working 9 hours a day in an accounting office making business and financial plans. Tired and seeing that this would not be a future for me, I decided to create my own business in the tourism sector and in an area that has always attracted me, the travel sector. That's how I decided to open a travel agency initially specializing in incoming tourism, more specifically on sightseeing tours and later in outgoing tourism. As I felt I needed more knowledge in the area, I enrolled in the course of certified tourism driver of the Escola de Turismo do Porto. This was an intensive 350-hour course of study in local guiding and domestic and international tours directing. I received my SNATTI (National Union for Tourist Guides) membership certificate on May December 20,2020, and it has been a blessing ever since. I have a Portuguese Class B Driver’s License and I also have a First Aid Certificate.
