The Norwegian DJ-producer embarks on his biggest India tour later this year, hitting 10 cities between September and October

Alan Walker will bring his Walkerworld tour to India, via Sunburn this September and October.

On the back of launching a new song for the Indian Premier League (IPL) and performing in Bengaluru, Alan Walker has announced his biggest India tour, slated to kick off in September this year.

The “Faded” and “On My Way” artist – who recently released “Who I Am” – will be touring from September to October of this year, covering places like Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Hyderabad, Pune, Shillong, Chennai and Kolkata.

The Sunburn Arena/WalkerWorld India tour starts in Kolkata on September 27th and ends in Hyderabad on October 20th. Pre-sale tickets are now on sale for fans who pre-registered via BookMyShow .  

Alan Walker’s India tour also includes stops in Shillong (September 28th), Delhi NCR (September 29th), Ahmedabad (October 2nd), Bengaluru (October 4th), Chennai (October 5th), Kochi (October 6th), Pune (October 18th) and Mumbai (October 19th).

Walker said in a statement, “I’m so excited to be back in India on my biggest tour ever and to share new music with everyone. Indian crowds always bring such amazing energy and I can’t wait to create some unforgettable moments together.”

While in India, Walker launched a team anthem for the IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore, called “Team Side ft RCB” and linked up with everyone from star cricketers like Virat Kohli to pop stars including Guru Randhawa, plus producer Gravero, who was enlisted to create a new version of “Who I Am.”

Walker – who considers India a key market alongside South Asia – was back in India this week after a year without performing in the country. In a previous interview with Rolling Stone India , “We didn’t stop by India last year, and that’s the first time in quite a while where there hasn’t been anything. It was also kind of good to take a little bit of a break from India, make people hyped for our return and I’ve seen it on social media. People really want me to come back to India, and I can’t wait. I think we’ll be planning to do some shows around India and maybe explore some new cities that I haven’t been to before.”

The tour is produced by Sunburn, whose 2024 calendar has so far included hip-hop artist G-Eazy , EDM artist Marshmello , DJ-producer Illenium , Australian house music producer Fisher, techno and progressive house artist Lauren Mia, Greece’s Echonomist and more.

Alan Walker Announces India Tour With Sunburn Arena

India, 30 th March 2022 – The 15 th edition of Asia’s largest music festival, Sunburn brings to India yet another massive multi-city Arena showcase this April 2022. Sunburn Arena makes an outstanding comeback post a hiatus due to the pandemic with a 4-city tour featuring the legendary British-born Norwegian artist and multi-platinum record producer Alan Walker.

The multi-city Sunburn Arena Tour will see the legendary Alan Walker performing his electronic jam on 14 th April at Mahalakshmi Racecourse, Mumbai, followed by Bhartiya City, Bengaluru on 15 th April and Hitex, Hyderabad on 16 th April, to finally culminate on 17 th April at Backyard, Gurgaon. He will be joined on stage by special guest German singer-songwriter Au/Ra and Norwegian singer-songwriter Julie Bergan.

The 23-year-old first performed in India in 2016 blowing listeners away with his now classic hit ‘Faded’ among other tunes and thereafter received thumping success at the India leg of the Aviation Tour in 2019. Donning his trademark mask and hoodie, Walker has made quite a name for himself in the music world, with more than 15 billion audio and video streams worldwide as well as around 40 million followers on social media and 10 million subscribers on Spotify.

The EDM maven has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the business, including Bruno Mars, Miley Cyrus, Sia and Avicii. Continuously listed as one of the top 100 most popular artists on Spotify, some of his more popular singles include ‘On My Way,’ ‘Alone,’ ‘All Falls Down’, ‘Spectre’ and ‘Diamond Heart.’ Walker has supported artists such as Justin Bieber, Rihanna and Kygo, performing at many of the best music festivals around the world – Coachella, Tomorrowland, Ultra, Lollapalooza – you name it, and he’s likely to have played there. Alan Walker is about to go on his longest tour to date in India, arranged by Sunburn, the region's leading electronic music festival.

One of the most influential figures in the electronic dance music scene, Alan Walker, will be bringing his largest ever tour to India later this year, produced by Asia’s biggest electronic music festival, Sunburn.

Spanning across 10 cities, the critically acclaimed DJ and music producer will be touring from September to October of this year, covering places like Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Hyderabad, Pune, Shillong, Chennai and Kolkata.

The Norwegian icon will be touring in support of WalkerWorld, the first installment of his most ambitious and ever-evolving project, a compilation that cut across genres as he beckoned audiences into an innovative and immersive chapter of his artistry. This initial release premiered in December 2023 and featured 10 tracks, including five new compositions, that transcended traditional sonic boundaries, showcasing Alan Walker’s progression as an artist. The album opened with an inviting track, setting the stage for a diverse playlist. Collaborations with artists like Daya in “Heart Over Mind” and Steve Aoki in “Spectre 2.0” highlight Walker’s signature dance-pop style. In contrast, “Land of the Heroes” with Sophie Stray ventures into emotive electronic. The album culminated with “Darkride,” a solo track by Walker, ending on a cinematic note that leaves listeners eager for future additions. The project also marked a unique crossover into the virtual world, with the introduction of Alan Walker’s amusement park in Fortnite, aptly named after the album.

Sunburn Arena Returns For A 3-City Tour With Alan Walker

In his third leg of the tour, platinum producer and Dj Alan Walkers return to India.

Sunburn Festival announces the return of the arena show in April, which last took place right before the pandemic in 2019. Unable to complete the chapter then, they are ready to give the fans the climax they deserve before the main festival is announced.

The artist will be performing in three cities from 15th to 17th April. The tour begins at Bangaluru on the 15th, drives on to Hydrabad on 16th, and closes at Delhi, NCR on the 17th.

Additionally, Sunburn has announced a Holi Weekend Festival in Goa on 18th and 19th March with KSHMR as the headliner.

The fans are jubilant over the back-to-back announcements and we are glad to see the festival’s scene returning to India after a two-year hiatus.

CHENNAI: As a part of his WalkerVerse India Tour, British-born Norwegian DJ, Alan Walker will be performing in the Sunburn Arena at MGM today.

Performing for the first time in the city, Alan says he is excited to be back in India and to perform in Chennai. Speaking to DT Next he says, “I usually perform in other metropolitan cities like Delhi and Mumbai. Now, it’s Chennai. This change is very exciting and it feels so great to be here.”

What will he be performing for us at the Sunburn Arena? He says, “I’m working on my new WalkerVerse show which consists of many new songs from my new album. I’m really looking forward to sharing that with my Indian fans. I will also be performing unreleased tracks.”

Talking about what his itinerary looks like during his stay in India, he says his schedule has been very hectic and that the shows are lined up back to back. In spite of a packed schedule, Alan says he takes time to explore the place, try out new food and tries to connect with his fans as much as he can whenever he is on tour.

“I’m looking forward to being with my fans and seeing them enjoy the new music and unreleased tracks. After Chennai, our next stop will be Ahmedabad and then straight to the UK for the WalkerVerse Europe tour,” he says.

Movie première September 29 | PVR The siblings, Dhanush and K Selvaraghavan join hands for a film after 11 years. Naane Varuven is a mystery drama directed by K Selvaraghavan. The plot centres on a déjà vu encounter between two identical twins. Dhanush will appear as a cowboy and take on two intriguing roles: one as the antagonist and the other as the protagonist. The movie also stars Yogi Babu, Indhuja, and Ravichandran.

Tale of Cholas September 24 | Nungambakkam Theatre Marina presents J Raghunathan’s Ponniyin Selvanum Abaya Ranga Thilagavum, a suspenseful thriller lay inspired by the original characters of Kalki’s Ponninyin Selvan.
