Shawn Klush is also the Winner of BBC One's The World's Greatest Elvis hosted by Vernon Kaye back in 2007, seen by 6 million UK viewers. After winning the first ever Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist in Contest the following year, he then went on to perform a worldwide arena tour featuring Elvis Presley's original band members, including the largest ever UK audience for an Elvis tribute show at the Bolton Arena. Followed by arena shows in the USA, South America, Europe and Australia. This series of incredible concerts along with his contest wins, solidified Shawn Klush's reputation as the most successful Elvis tribute artist of all time.

The incredible Shawn Klush first exploded onto the UK scene when 6 million viewers tuned in to see him crowned 'The World's Greatest Elvis' live on BBC One. Soon after, Shawn was also crowned the first-ever 'Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Champion' in Memphis, Tennessee.

Fast forward to 2022, with Elvis now a household name more so than in decades before after the release of Baz Luhrmann's acclaimed Elvis Movie starring Austin Butler and Tom Hanks – inspired by Austin's on-screen performance, Victor Trevino Junior entered the most recent Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Concert and took the title in grand fashion with his dazzling performances as Elvis in the 50's and also his rendition of the '68 Comeback special.

Also featuring UK fan favourite and winner of the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest in 2018, Ben Thompson. His performances have continually lit up audiences since the Elvis World Tour began here in the UK back in 2015. His own international tours and performances have earned him the deserved reputation as one of the world's foremost Elvis tribute artists.

Don't miss this incredible production, starring three of the world's very best Elvis tribute artists together in one show with an incredible live band and orchestra.

A visit to Graceland is a popular activity for both Elvis fans and Memphis tourists.

Note: Some tour providers on this list may be running more limited operations due to COVID-19 or may impose testing or vaccine requirements. Check with your tour operator about availability before you book.

When Elvis Presley was just 22 years old, he purchased Graceland – a 10,266-square-foot mansion that occupied a nearly 14-acre property in Memphis, Tennessee . After the singer's death in 1977, the executors of his estate found that the mansion's exorbitant operating costs proved difficult to maintain, so they decided to open Graceland for tours in 1982. Since then, more than 20 million people from around the world have visited the mansion – which now spans 17,552 square feet – and its surrounding Elvis-themed museums and shops. Read on to plan your Graceland visit.

What is Graceland?

  • Where is Graceland located?

Graceland is a 120-acre institution dedicated to the life and music of Elvis Presley. The main draw is the mansion, but there's more to see than Elvis' former abode. Visitors can stop by Elvis Presley's Memphis, a 200,000-square-foot museum and entertainment complex. This building houses the Presley Motors Automobile Museum and a series of exhibits, such as "Elvis' Tupelo," which explores Elvis' early life in his hometown of Tupelo, Mississippi. The Elvis: The Entertainer Career Museum, which displays the entertainer's gold and platinum records, his famous jumpsuits and movie memorabilia, can also be found here. Tourists will also have access to 10 interactive exhibits and games. Located throughout the complex, the interactive features include quizzes, a simulated golf cart ride and photo booths that put travelers on Elvis' movie posters and album covers. Finally, the complex houses two restaurants, a coffee shop, an ice cream parlor and a soundstage where tourists can watch Elvis' movies and attend live music performances.

After you learn all about the King, check out the Graceland Exhibition Center. This 80,000-square-foot venue features a variety of rotating museum exhibits, covering a variety of subjects, including motorcycles, Muhammad Ali and Van Gogh. The complex also boasts a food court, a bar and a separate, rentable event space.

Where is Graceland located?

Graceland   is located in the Whitehaven community of Memphis, nearly 3 miles west of Memphis International Airport and 10 miles south of downtown.

elvis presley tour uk 2022

There are multiple tour options for visiting Graceland.

  • Elvis Presley's Memphis + Planes Tour : This is the basic tour option. It grants visitors access to Elvis Presley's Memphis Entertainment Complex and the Elvis' Custom Jets exhibit, but does not include access to the mansion. Tickets for this tour start at $48 for adults, with discounts for children.
  • Elvis Experience Tour : Tickets for this tour, which start at $77 per adult, include everything in the above tour, plus access to the mansion complete with an audio tour.
  • Elvis Entourage VIP : The Elvis Entourage VIP tour includes everything in both the other tour options, plus skip-the-line access to the mansion, a VIP shuttle to the mansion, access to a special exhibit, and a keepsake pass. Tickets start at $128 per person.
  • Ultimate VIP Tour : The Ultimate VIP Tour includes everything in the Elvis Entourage VIP, plus a guided tour of the mansion with an experienced guide, access to a VIP lounge, a meal voucher to an on-site restaurant, an archives show and tell, the chance to buy exclusive souvenirs and a photo-op. Tickets for this experience start at $196 per person; children 2 and younger tour for free.

The mansion tour will take about 90 minutes to complete. Those who decide to tour the rest of Graceland's offerings should budget at least 3 1/2 hours to explore.

Tourgoers can purchase tickets online or at the box office on-site. Tickets purchased online can be printed at home or downloaded on a smartphone (which saves time). You can also choose to pick up your tickets at will call; you must have a photo ID to pick them up. Patrons may also purchase a multiday ticket to access Elvis Presley's Memphis for an additional one, two or three days. Multiday tickets start at $17 per adult and can be purchased on-site only.

Tickets for exhibits at the Graceland Exhibition Center are not included in any Graceland tickets and require additional entrance fees. Tickets for those exhibits can be purchased on Graceland's website.

Which Graceland experience you choose largely depends on your fascination with the King. Graceland visitors mention that even non-Elvis fans will enjoy the tour and the up-close look at the entertainer's famous lifestyle. Visitors also appreciate the audio tour narrated by John Stamos. They recommend upgrading your tour to one of the VIP options, saying it is well worth the additional cost.

Graceland is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 or 5 p.m. (depending on the day of the week and time of year). It closes or has abbreviated hours on holidays. The last mansion tour begins at 4 or 5 p.m., depending on the day and time of year.

The best time to visit Graceland depends on what kind of experience you want. Travelers should check out Graceland's events calendar as the complex and its hotel, the Guest House at Graceland, host numerous weekend events, concerts and daytrips to Elvis' hometown throughout the year. Visitors in the mood for a festive atmosphere will want to book a trip in late November, December or early January to see the estate's holiday lights display and decorations.

Graceland Mansion, former home of Elvis

Andrea Zucker | Courtesy of Memphis Convention and Visitors Bureau

  • Visit the mansion after 2 p.m. to enjoy fewer crowds and shorter wait times, as this is the slowest time of day. (Multiple travelers note long wait times when arriving before this time). Check Graceland's website for exact opening times; there are certain days and holidays where hours vary.
  • You're welcome to bring cameras, but flash photography is not permitted.
  • Video cameras cannot be brought into the mansion, attractions or gift shops.
  • Note that two rooms in the basement of the mansion and the airplanes are not wheelchair accessible.
  • Bring a permanent marker to sign the famous Graceland wall before you leave.

Patrons can reach Graceland by car. On-site parking costs $10. The lot is located next to Elvis Presley's Memphis and the ticket booth. The only way to get to the mansion itself is by shuttle, which is included in your ticket price. The shuttle pickup is across from the ticketing pavilion.

There are also a few public transportation options. The Memphis Hop, a hop-on, hop-off bus tour, makes stops every hour at several attractions in the city, including Graceland. This bus generally runs Wednesday through Saturday (it may not operate on Fridays during select months), and tickets cost approximately $35 for adults and $25 for children ages 4 to 12. Memphis Area Transit Authority No. 42 bus route stops close to Graceland.

Nashville sits about 215 miles northeast of Graceland (an approximately 3 1/2-hour drive).

Elvis Presley’s Graceland exhibit coming to the UK with over 400 official artefacts

2 August 2023, 16:23

There's a new Elvis Presley exhibition coming to London, with over four hundred artefacts waiting for fans of the King of Rock 'n' Roll.

By Thomas Curtis-Horsfall

Facebook share

Graceland has become a glittering shrine to the King of Rock 'n' Roll.

Elvis Presley 's former home was opened to the world in 1982, and offered an incredible, intimate insight into the man behind the music.

The complex which resides on 200,000 square feet of land in Memphis, Tennessee now welcomes over half a million visitors each year to the mansion, its museums, restaurants, gift shops and more.

Elvis himself is even buried within the grounds, alongside his parents, paternal grandmother, grandson Benjamin Keough and daughter Lisa-Marie Presley .

Priscilla Presley wanted to preserve the legacy of her ex-husband after eventually becoming the successor to his estate.

  • When The Beatles paid tribute to their "messiah" with an Elvis Presley cover version
  • Elvis Presley once admitted to Tom Jones who he thought the real king of rock and roll was
  • Watch Elvis star Austin Butler play 'Can't Help Falling In Love' on Presley's guitar at Graceland
  • All 31 of Elvis Presley's movies, ranked from worst to best

She did an impeccable job as history dictates, transforming Graceland into the second most visited home in the United States after the White House, and securing a spot on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

Graceland is undoubtedly a bucket list visit for any Elvis Presley fan, and is well worth the pilgrimage to Memphis.

But for some people around the world, it's just not possible to get there. Never fear though die-hard Elvis fans, as a Graceland exhibition is heading to the UK.

Direct From Graceland: Elvis is set to open in London this autumn and offers the chance for fans to "step inside the legacy".

Held at Arches London Bridge and opening in October 2023, the exhibition promises that UK-based fans will "see Elvis like never before".

Posting on the official Graceland Instagram account, the news was announced alongside the caption: "For fans who cannot make the journey to Elvis’ home in Memphis, Graceland is coming to you in London!"

"Direct from Graceland: Elvis is a major new retrospective exhibit that will open October 2023 at @Arches.LondonBridge."

"The exhibit will feature over 400 artefacts that have never been seen in the UK! Additionally a VIP: White Glove Experience is on offer, including the chance to handle some of Elvis’ personal items."

Among the hundreds of Elvis' personal possessions and timeless outfits will be his famed gold lamé tuxedo, which he first wore on stage in Chicago’s International Amphitheatre on March 28, 1957.

He also famously appeared wearing it on the front cover of his LP, 50,000,000 Elvis Fans Can’t Be Wrong - Elvis’ Gold Records – Volume 2 .

A description of the upcoming exhibition on the official website states: "Over 400 plus artefacts, from his prized Ferrari Dino to his iconic Gold Lamé Suit, chart Elvis’s humble beginnings to his meteoric rise to fame in this kaleidoscopic chronicle of the King."

"Journey through multiple gallery spaces from Elvis the man to the global sensation, the performer and movie star – and experience first-hand featuring towering tributes to The 68 Special , Aloha From Hawaii, and Las Vegas with an immersive spectacle to relive the iconic performance."

"Finally, explore his legacy and his continuing influence on pop culture from the opening of Graceland to the critically acclaimed Baz Luhrmann film Elvis (2022)."

Elvis Presley's fandom has seen a resurgence in recent years with Luhrmann's Elvis Presley biopic, and Austin Butler 's lauded, BAFTA-winning performance.

  • Priscilla Presley and Jerry Schilling reveal what really happened the night Elvis met The Beatles

There's yet another Presley biopic on the way in 2023 too, with Sofia Coppola at the helm of Priscilla , which will explore the love and marriage of Elvis Presley and his wife Priscilla.

Before Priscilla hits the silver screen later this year however, you can get up-close-and-personal with Elvis' memorabilia at Direct From Graceland: Elvis when it comes to London in October.

Pre-sale tickets for Direct From Graceland: Elvis are set to go on sale on August 22 and you can join the waiting list here .

‘The Very Best of Elvis in Concert’ confirms 2023 arena tour

Pip Ellwood-Hughes

‘The Very Best of Elvis in Concert’, one of the most unique concert experiences of recent years, will return for an arena tour in 2023.

The full-scale concert brings the King up close on screen alongside the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra live on stage performing the King of Rock and Roll’s most well-known “rocking” songs and his tender, heart-wrenching ballads, with special guests to be announced in due course.

This is the only chance to experience the man who changed the course of popular music, selling an unparalleled 1 billion records worldwide.  A show like no other, expect an overwhelmingly encapsulating and enthralling evening!

The collaboration between the music of Elvis and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra has spearheaded an incredible phenomenon, with new orchestral arrangements of the music of the most legendary artists of all time being presented with the original recordings of the artists’ own voice which led to three huge-selling and critically acclaimed albums (‘If I Can Dream’, ‘The Wonder of You’, and ‘Christmas with Elvis and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra’).

With Elvis never having toured the UK, or performing with a full sized orchestra as were two of his dreams, these shows are a chance to both honor the legacy of an icon who has defined popular culture for over half a century, and for fans to see ‘The King’ live, who never had the chance to before.

The tour dates are:

25 October       Glasgow OVO Hydro 26 October       Manchester AO Arena 27 October       Birmingham Resorts World Arena 28 October       Newcastle Utilita Arena 29 October       Leeds First Direct Arena 31 October       London The O2 01 November   Cardiff International Arena

Tickets available from  ticketline.co.uk ,  bookingsdirect.com ,  ticketmaster.co.uk  and venue box office.

Elvis Costello announces details of 2022 UK tour

The dates come on the back of the singer's imminent new album 'the boy named if'.

Elvis Costello has announced details of a 2022 UK tour with his band The Imposters – see the full list of planned shows below.

The dates, which take place across June next year, will come on the back of Costello’s new album ‘The Boy Named If’ , which was announced back in October and is due to be released on January 14.

The tour for the album begins in Brighton on June 5, 2022 at the Dome, before wrapping up three weeks later at Hammersmith Apollo on June 23.

See the full list of dates below. Tickets go on sale at 10am GMT on Friday (December 10) here .

JUNE 2022 5 – Brighton, Dome 7 – Glasgow, Royal Concert Hall 8 – Newcastle, O2 City Hall 10 – Liverpool, Philharmonic 11 – Manchester, Opera House 13 – Birmingham, Symphony Hall 14 – Leicester, De Montfort Hall 16 – Oxford, New Theatre 17 – Bath, The Forum 19 – Portsmouth, Guildhall 20 – Swansea, Arena 22 – Ipswich, Regent Theatre 23 – London, Eventim Apollo

Back in October, Costello released latest single, ‘Magnificent Hurt’ , from his upcoming album.

The single came as  Costello  signs to EMI, and announced full details of his new album, ‘The Boy Named If’.

Of his upcoming album, Costello has said: ”The full title of this record is ‘The Boy Named If (And Other Children’s Stories).’ ‘IF,’ is a nickname for your imaginary friend; your secret self, the one who knows everything you deny, the one you blame for the shattered crockery and the hearts you break, even your own. You can hear more about this ‘Boy’ in a song of the same name.”

Costello has also spoken about the album’s lyrical themes: “Once upon a time, when I didn’t know what a kiss could do and didn’t even dare to caress, the way ahead was a mystery; a departing from that magic state called innocence for the pain that leads to pleasure and all that jazz.”

‘The Boy Named If’, produced by Costello and Sebastian Krys (who worked with Elvis Costello and The Imposters on their 2018 album ‘Look Now’), is set to take the listener through a journey across “bewildered boyhood to that mortifying moment when you are told to stop acting like a child – which for most men (and perhaps a few gals too) can be any time in the next fifty years,” Costello said.

‘Magnificent Hurt’ marks Costello’s sixth release since his October 2020 album, ‘Hey Clockface’.

Elvis Presley in his 1968 comeback special on NBC.

Return of the king: Elvis hologram show to premiere in London

Elvis Evolution promises ‘immersive’ experience with concerts also planned for Las Vegas, Tokyo and Berlin

  • AI Elvis not the first hologram star to shake his moves on stage

While some believe that the king of rock’n’roll may celebrate his 89th birthday next week propping up the bar of the Heartbreak Hotel, the rest of us will have to make do with an Elvis Presley hologram show in 2024.

Elvis Evolution, an “immersive concert experience” using AI and holographic projection, will premiere in London in November, with shows also planned in Las Vegas, Tokyo and Berlin.

The technology will create a lifesize digital Elvis from thousands of his personal photos and home-video footage. The hologram will perform in a celebration of the star’s life and musical legacy after a deal between Authentic Brands Group, the owners of the Elvis Presley estate, and Layered Reality, a British immersive entertainment company.

Andrew McGuinness, chief executive of Layered Reality, said: “Elvis Evolution is a next-generation tribute to the musical legend that is Elvis Presley.

“Elvis maintains superstar status globally and people around the world no longer want to sit there and passively receive entertainment – they want to be a part of it

“It’ll be a memory-making experience that will be a bucket-list item for Elvis fans and admirers around the world; people can step into the world of Elvis, walk in his shoes and celebrate his extraordinary musical legacy.”

The show will also offer an after-party Elvis-themed bar and restaurant on site at the central London location, with live music, DJs and performances.

The initiative follows the remarkable success of Abba Voyage , a show in which lifesize avatars of the four members of the Swedish pop group perform as their human counterparts appeared in 1979, in a purpose-built arena in east London.

In its first year, Abba Voyage sold more than 1.3m tickets with reports of a forthcoming world tour. The 90-minute show and arena cost £140m and seven years to develop.

The US rock band Kiss have also unveiled avatars of themselves , depicted as superheroes.

Although Elvis never faded from the cultural consciousness, two big-screen treatments in recent years have brought him fresh attention. Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla was released in the UK this week – providing a sympathetic treatment of his ex-wife, who lived her life in his shadow after meeting him at 14 when he was 24.

And in 2022, Baz Luhrmann produced a bombastic biopic of the king’s life in music and at home – earning rave reviews for lead actor Austin Butler .

By the time Presley died suddenly in 1977 at the age 42, he was a musical and cultural giant. He revolutionised popular music, scandalised older generations and was worshipped by the young, causing hysteria and near-riots with his gyrating pelvis. He also starred in a number of movies.

Despite years of prescription drug abuse and a famously unhealthy diet, his death from heart failure came as a shock. Conspiracy theorists claimed he had faked his own death and there have been countless reports of sightings of the legendary star all over the world.

According to one theory, Presley faked his death in order to escape the mafia. Gail Brewer-Giorgio, the author of the 1988 bestselling book Is Elvis Alive?, asserted that the FBI had enlisted Presley as an undercover agent in 1976 to help it infiltrate a criminal organisation called the Fraternity.

Brewer-Giorgio said: “Elvis faked his death because he was going to be killed and there was no doubt about it.”

Some people claimed Presley appeared as an extra in the 1990 blockbuster Home Alone.

A Gallup poll conducted in 1997 found that 4% of Americans thought Presley was alive, and 93% of those surveyed were certain he was dead.
