Group Size : 8  Delhi is famous for its tourist attractions, Indian history, and food. And the aim of this tour is to provide local insight experience in Delhi but in an adventurous way with a segway.

Segway is a two-wheeled, battery-powered electric vehicle which is included in the package, At the beginning of the tour, the tour leader and instructor will provide you 5-10 minutes of hands-on orientation session explaining to you how to drive a segway safely. In addition, you will have to wear the safety gears like helmet, elbow pads, and knee pad which we shall be provided during the tour. As a part of daily hygiene protocol, proper care of hygiene and sanitation is maintained all through to ensure the utmost care and personal safety of the guests.

There are 3 different itineraries to choose from: ​Delhi Art District Tour The duration of this tour is 1-hour including the orientation session. The itinerary is best suitable for art lovers since the lanes offer 50+ murals along the way. A mural is any piece of artwork painted or applied directly on a wall, ceiling, or other permanent surfaces. You will get to visit the colours of the soul by SENKOE, mural near Khanna Market, art by Yip Yew Ching, Sam Lo’s mural, art with the message of justice, equality, health and fortune, and many more.  ​​Lutyen’s Delhi Tour​ Lutyens' Delhi is an area in New Delhi that is named after the British architect Sir Edwin Lutyens. He was responsible for building a lot of famous architectural structures. The duration​ of this tour is one hour including the orientation session at the start point of the tour​. You will be covering the Secretariat​, ​Rashtrapati Bhawan (subject to permission of security personnel)​, ​Parliament House​, ​the scenic beauty surrounding the Ministry buildings on Rajpath​, ​various government buildings​, ​Amar Jawan Jyoti​, ​India Gate​, and finally conclude the whole tour at the start point. ​​

Historic Delhi Tour The duration of this tour is 1 hour and 45 minutes including the orientation session at the start point of the tour. This tour is an add-on to the Lutyen's tour. You will be covering places such as Secretariat, Rashtrapati Bhawan, Parliament House, the scenic beauty surrounding the Ministry buildings on Rajpath, various government buildings, etc. The add on in this tour will be Baroda House (the residence of the Maharaja of Baroda in Delhi), Pragati Maidan​, ​Purana Quila​, ​Delhi Zoo​, ​Masjid Khairul Manzil​, and many more amazing places.  How to Reach:  Karol Bagh metro station is the closest to the starting point at just a 2-minute rickshaw ride. You can also take a private taxi to reach the starting point.

• To ensure utmost hygiene, the pieces of equipment are daily cleaned and sanitized.
• The tour can be availed as a private tour for 8 or more people. Below that, it will be formed and catered as a group departure.
• The segway PT is appropriate for those weighing more than 30 kg and not exceeding 100 kg.
• All tourists should have the ability to make motions such as climbing and descending stairs without assistance
• Children aged 12 and below are not permitted on the tour for safety reasons.
• Children aged 13-18 must be accompanied by a guardian for safety reasons.
• Advance purchase is strongly recommended, as tour size is limited and often sells out quickly.
• The primary language is English however tour guides on request can address the guests in Hindi as well.
• Since the tour is of short duration only limited stops at select locations will be made where you can take photos from outside
• You can enjoy this experience anytime between Monday to Friday from 5.15 AM to 8.15 AM or on weekends and holidays from 5.15 AM to 9 AM.
• Guests must arrive at the start point with prior booking at least 20 minutes before the chosen tour start time.
• Every participant must carry a valid Govt. issued photo ID and present on arrival as the tour covers a few security-sensitive locations.
• The tour will start at the scheduled time and will not wait for anyone who has not reached the venue 20 minutes prior.
• Tour vouchers once issued are non-refundable.
• Stopover of 3 minutes will be given for photography only at select locations due to security.
• Guests are requested to be with the group for their own safety and security and strictly adhere to the same.
• You will be personally liable for any mishap due to non-compliance with security instructions.
• All safety gear and Segway must be handed over to the tour leader at the end of the tour.
• This activity can be availed as a private or group tour

Segway Tour, Delhi: Cancellation Policy

• If cancellations are made within 3-6 days before the start date of the trip, 50% of the rental cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
• If Cancellations are made within 0-48 hours prior to the activity, 100% of the activity cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
• In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain trips or activities may get cancelled. In such cases operator will try their best to provide an alternate feasible. However a cash refund will not be applicable for the same.

• The applicable refund amount will be processed within 10 business days
• All applicable refunds will be done in traveller's thrillophilia wallet as Thrillcash

On a short trip to Delhi for two days, I went to join this tour with some of my Delhi based friends. I booked the package through Thrillophilia. Their prompt service was very satisfactory. Though the activity is scheduled for 45 minutes, somehow ours got extended to 1 hour. It was a nice experience. It was just a part of my one day Delhi sightseeing trip. Still, had a nice time and fun with my crazy friends. Thanks guys. Looking forward to having more fun next time. Thanks.

Super easy with Thrillophilia. The service was good, 1-hour is enough to try the rides. The first time expereince was not bad but definitely would do this again... and also recommend this to all people that really worth a try.

Easy and difficult at the same time. Tried it in Delhi on the Rajpath and India Gate stretch since the road is the best here. We were first trained to operate a Segway and then were left to be riding all alone.

We booked a trip to Assam and Meghalaya through them, but it was a mistake. They're just a booking platform and offer no support once you've paid. Initially, Ms. Aashi Sachdeva assured us she'd take care of everything, but once we paid, she disappeared. The point of contact, Mr. Indraneel Dutta, was unhelpful and blamed us for the hotel issues, even though we chose based on Aashi's recommendation. It took hours to resolve the hotel problem, and we had to involve a local tour manager. They refused to cancel our booking for the next day, forcing us to book another hotel ourselves. We didn't receive a refund for the canceled room and lost around 20k. They promised to follow up but never did. It's been a month without any contact. Dealing with them was a nightmare, and I strongly advise against booking with Thrillophilia. They lack proper customer care and their staff seem inexperienced and untrained. I booked a Delhi to Delhi Kheerganga trek with Thrillophillia. Not just talking for myself but I spek for the rest of my cotravellers. We are a group of 9 people. I am going to break this down very hard for anyone who reads this review so that they know exactly what to do when they want to plan a Kheerganga Trek. This was a package of Rs. 6500 Travel: Get on your own business, book it from Redbus. You will get a comfortable seat, and a known time of arrival and departure. Thrillophillia takes no ownership in this process, they will book uncomfortable busses to improve their margins. How much will you pay for extra luxurious travels? Not more than 1500 per person for Delhi to Kasol. 3000 for return trip Stay: You can stay anywhere decently in Kasol for one day. Amaze luxury at 1500 per day.You anyway want to try out cafes and cuisines in Kasol. We stayed in a tent with a shared washroom which was not bad to be honest. Trek: It was perfect. Very amazing. So here is the thing. They have a 2500 package which includes the stay and trek. Which itself has a lot of hidden charges. DO NOT BOOK FULL TRIP TICKETS WITH THRILLOPHILLIA. Nobody from their team took accountability of this and I deeply regret booking this from the platform. It made the trip more exhaustive and unpredictable that it should have been and you don't go on vacations to handle this. I am more burned out than I was before I stepped on this trip. This was a complete SCAM and the host doesn't have tickets nor the capability to issue tickets. There was never any intent to provide the product. This company works with anyone, that signs up as a HOST. This host was a SCAM illegally selling tickets that they never had, and the company didn't check or verify. It is a company out of India and there is no way to force a refund. I would recommend Thrillophilia to every new parent in town as they were very meticulous in making our itinerary considering our 1 year kid. Starting from hotels , staff , meals and special requests or when it comes to arranging leisure days and arranging cabs for private transport and local sight seeing they were spot on with their best recommendations and we’re flexible to consider our requests. Booking with them was a big mistake. They are just a booking platform and they will not support u once u give the payment. We were contacted by Ms Aashi Sachdeva for booking and she gave me assurance that we will not have to worry about anything and she ll  be there for everything and later on we were given Point of contact in the form of Mr Indraneel Dutta most weird employ I have ever come across. On teaching Cherrapunji the hotel which we had book was below standard and out of 3 rooms one was way beyond standard n not stayable. On contacting Aashi she did pik the call once and told she ll get bak and after that she stopped picking up the phone. Mr Indranil told that it is we who have chosen the hotel and v hav to manage before even understanding our situation n problem. On explaining him that the hotel options were send by Aashi her self and v chose on her assurance that this hotel is good we went ahead with the room booking.  After  4 hours of struggle they did not resolve the issue n we had to speak to local tour manager rhea who on local company expense got our one room changed. We than ask her for next day cancellation in that hotel and asked them to help us book for hotel in  Shillong and for that they told that we cannot change the booking now on telling them that india is free country and that they cannot force us to stay at a place which we are not comfortable they told that v ll have to make the booking on our own which we did eventually. We did not get any refund for the room which we cancelled in Cherrapunji and full amount was deducted. We had three  rooms booked so had a loss of around 20 k. That’s not enuf they told once we reach they ll see but it’s been one month i didnot got any call from their side so I think if i had booked on my own or by some local company directly I wud have managed the problem easily but these companies make small issues big and do not solve them also and these point of contact and all the person contacting u are useless low cost non trained employees who do not understand what exactly is customer care. Delight in a Segway tour, a great way to explore and understand the rich heritage that India’s national capital has to offer. For the uninitiated, Segway is a two-wheeled, battery-powered electric vehicle. 

On this 3 hour jaunt, centuries of history unfolds itself, presenting some great photo opportunities too.

Partake in this experience anytime between Monday to Friday from 5.15am to 8.15am or on weekends and holidays from 5.15am to 9am.

On this tour, you will first be familiarised with the vehicle. Get 5-7 minutes training on how to use the Segway, receive demonstrations and various essential guidelines.

Post which; under two expert guides, you head to Secretariat for photo-ops with Secretariat building and Rashtrapati Bhawan in the backdrop.

Proceed towards the Parliament Building, India Gate and Vijay Chowk. Enjoy the serene beauty of various ministry buildings en-route and cross various intersections.

Go trigger happy with India Gate and Amar Jawan Jyoti in the background. Head back to the starting point and indulge in some retail therapy if you wish.

Imagine yourself gliding on two wheels down Rajpath, India's grandest boulevard, at 6 in the morning with the sun's early rays kissing the sky and gentle breeze brushing your face as passersby gape in awe. Grand, isn't it?

Popular in European countries, the battery-powered Segway gives people an opportunity to glide past the palatial Rashtrapati Bhawan and the North and South secretariat blocks, down Raisina Hill with Parliament House on the left, take in the green lawns of Rajpath and turn back at the India Gate war memorial to head back up Raisina Hill.

On Saturdays one can also take in the change of guard ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhawan.

"Isn't it amazing that one can enjoy the entire Rajpath stretch and the scenic beauty alongside it at 5 a.m. when there is no traffic? You can amble down the road at your own pace," says Sumil Mudgal of Bird Segway, which launched the Segway tours in the capital.

Bird Segway is a unit of Bird Group, which is in the retail and travel sector.

Launched in May, the tour has received good response from people eager to explore this beautiful red sandstone British era buildings on Raisina Hill at a leisurely pace.

It is easy to ride. One can guide the machine with body movements. Lean forward and the machine takes you ahead, lean back and it slows down and stops.

"Anybody who can ride a bicycle can easily maneuver Segway. Riding this amazing machine is child's play," tour supervisor Karan Shahaney said as this correspondent took a ride round the tree-lined stretch that comes into prominence when India celebrates its Republic Day and showcases its defence might.

"We have a problem if someone is light or overweight. A person should weigh between 45 and 110 kg to ride it," Shahaney added.

With a helmet and elbow guards on, riding the Segway on this 4.5 km stretch at a maximum speed of 25 kmph creates quite a buzz among the early morning walkers and joggers and the occassional motorists.

In fact, passersby watch awestruck and even ask marshals - who escort the riders - about the device - hitherto seen only on European roads.

"Presently we are not taking more than 6 people in one tour. Considering it is a pilot project by the company, the numbers are quite satisfactory," said Mudgal.

The tour has generated lot of interest.

For Brigadier (retd) A. Trehan, it was an experience he wants to repeat.

"It was a wonderful experience for me and my 10 year-old grandson. I had a great experience gliding past these magnificent buildings. I will do it again," said Trehan.

For US citizen Bo Raffle, the ride was one of the best things during his India visit.

"The Segway ride is the best part of my visit to India... so much fun riding a Segway and experiencing India Gate with super cool trainers," said Raffle, who visited the capital for the first time.

A ride on this Rs.4.94 lakh machine costs Rs. 1,350 on weekdays and goes up to Rs. 1,650 on weekends. Three tours are conducted every day between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m.

Asked about the idea behind launching the project in Delhi, Mudgal said: "Cities in European countries have their own Segway tours and we chose Delhi because the city has a number of heritage sites and tourist attractions."

Thus, Segway could be seen soon gliding in other areas too.

"We are in talks with ASI for conducting the same tour on the sprawling campus of Humyaun's Tomb. One would surely love to glide through the complex instead of walking through the large area," she added.

"With the launching of this project, people will not have to bank upon third parties to take them to Rajpath as they can buy vouchers online at www.iride.co.in/tours," said Mudgal. The vouchers can also be bought from Ambience Mall in south Delhi's Vasant Kunj. - IANS

Will there be a photographer accompanying me on my Delhi Segway ride?

No, you won't be given a photographer for this tour. Since this is a brief tour, you must have your own camera or mobile device so you can take images just at specific locations.

Can kids participate in the Delhi Segway ride?

No, for safety reasons, children under the age of 12 are not allowed on the trip. 13 to 18-year-olds must always be accompanied by an adult.

Is the Delhi Segway ride available every day?

Yes, the Delhi Segway Rude is open every day, however the hours vary. This experience is available every day of the week from 5.15 am to 8.15 am, as well as on weekends and holidays from 5.15 am to 9 am.

Is it a group activity or a private tour?

It is a private tour that can hold up to 8 people at once and needs to be reserved in advance. If you want to take this tour, you should purchase your tickets in advance to have a hassle-free experience.
