Air India Express issues Covid guidelines for UAE passengers
Passengers will have to take a test if they show covid-related symptoms upon arrival.
Air India Express has tightened anti-Covid procedures on its aircraft. The National
Passengers arriving in India from the UAE must be fully immunised and follow Covid-19 protocols on flights and all entry points, international budget carrier Air India Express said.
They will also have to undergo testing if they show Covid-related symptoms upon arrival or during a self-monitoring period.
They will also have to take precautions including, preferably, the use of masks.
Post-arrival random testing, however, will not be required for children under 12 years of age.
"All guests should preferably be fully vaccinated as per the approved primary schedule of vaccination against Covid-19 in their country,” Air India Express said in a tweet.

On November 7, the UAE lifted nearly all Covid-19 restrictions in the country after a steady decline in cases.
Only a small number of measures remain in place, including masks to be worn inside health facilities and hospitals.
The country is among the most thoroughly-vaccinated in the world and has conducted about 25 million PCR tests nationwide since the emergence of the coronavirus.
The guidelines are the first issued by an airline in the country since restrictions were removed earlier this year. Authorities began random Covid testing at various airports in response to increasing case numbers globally, particularly in neighbouring China .
Air India Express , which has its headquarters in the city of Kochi in the southern state of Kerala, flies to countries in West Asia and South-East Asia.
It is run by a fully-owned division of Air India, which was bought by the Tata group this year.
India has also made rapid Covid tests mandator y for international passengers coming from China, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Thailand as Covid case numbers continue to surge worldwide.
Those found to be symptomatic or test positive for Covid, will be put under quarantine.
A woman and her six-year-old daughter who returned from China via Colombo tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday. They had landed at Madurai airport in southern Tamil Nadu.
Their samples will be sent for genome sequencing.
India has reported at least four cases of the BF.7 sub-variant that has wreaked havoc in China, in at least two states.
The country reported a handful of Covid cases in recent weeks, with the health ministry on Wednesday reporting 157 cases and one death in the previous 24 hours.

Passengers who have taken both the doses of Covid-19 vaccination in India are exempted from taking RT-PCR tests prior to their departure to India from the UAE, Air India Express said in its travel update.
In its fresh guideline for passengers travelling from the UAE to India, the airline noted the exemption is only for those individuals who have “completed the full vaccination schedule of both doses in India”.
The new travel update will mostly benefit visitors to the UAE who have taken the Covid-19 vaccines in India.
But passengers should also upload their Covid-19 vaccination certificate issued in India on Air Suvidha portal ( https://www.newdelhiairport.in/airsuvidha/apho-registration ).
The new relaxation follows the scrapping of the seven-day mandatory home quarantine for passengers landing in India from abroad.
However, passengers who have received Covid-19 vaccine in the UAE, i.e., the vast majority of the residents in this country, still need to do a PCR test 72 hours before flying from the UAE to India.
“All other passengers should carry a negative Covid-19 RT-PCR certificate and upload the same on Air Suvidha portal. The test should have been conducted within 72 hours prior to schedule time of departure.”

All passengers must upload a self-declaration form on Air Suvidha portal with information including travel details of the last 14 days.
“Passengers failing to comply with the above will be denied boarding,” the airline added.

Travel rules to Dubai from India eased: Here are the new requirements
Dubai residence visa holders can now travel from india to dubai if they have the necessary approval from the gdrfa and can produce negative covid test results..
Dubai residence visa holders can now travel from India to Dubai if they have the necessary approval from the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) and can produce negative Covid test results.
These are the only two requirements that travellers must fulfil. Their vaccination status will not be taken into account by airline representatives at check-in counters, the Khaleej Times reported.
The GDRFA is a government entity that regulates the entry and exit of international travellers from Dubai as well as the residency of foreign nationals in the city.

The Dubai government had earlier said that with regard to travel from India, only passengers with a valid residence visa who have received two doses of a UAE-approved vaccine are allowed to travel to Dubai. There are four vaccines approved by the UAE government — Sinopharm, Pfizer-BioNTech, Sputnik V and Oxford-AstraZeneca.
Dubai had last month announced relaxation of travel restrictions from countries, including India. The UAE, in late April, had closed its borders for travellers from India. This had come in the backdrop of the surge in number of Covid-19 cases in India during the second wave of the pandemic.
Responding to a customer on Twitter, an Emirates Airline support executive on Monday tweeted, “Dubai residence visa holders can travel as long as they present a printout of GDRFA approval, a negative PCR test taken within 48 hours of departure and a negative Rapid PCR test taken 04 hours prior to travel.”

“As per instructions issued by civil aviation authorities in Dubai, for passengers to disembark in Dubai, only three documents are required. They need to have a GDRFA approval, negative RT-PCR test result taken 48 hours before departure, and a rapid PCR test result from the airport,” an Air India official in the UAE was quoted as saying by the Khaleej Times.

UAE visa cancellation: Govt introduces five digital guidelines
Abu Dhabi: The UAE government has introduced five digital guidelines for the cancellation of visas. The visa of family members are to be cancelled by the sponsor while the employee visa should be cancelled by the respective companies or employers. Individuals cannot cancel their visas on their own. To cancel an employee’s visa, the company should first apply for cancellation of his/her employment contract and labour card at the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation. The employee too should sign on the application.
Besides, an affidavit signed by the employee stating that he/she had duly received the wages and other benefits. After this, the employer can apply to the ICP or GDRFI for visa cancellation. Meanwhile, the individuals could cancel their visa only after the visa cancellation process of the family members is completed. The visas could be cancelled online via the official website of ICP or through approved typing centres. Persons would be allowed to stay in the country only if the visa is renewed before it expires. However, individuals may be allowed to stay in the country for 1 – 6 months after visa cancellation depending upon the nature of the visa.
Meanwhile, AED 50 would be charged as a fine for each day that a person stays in the country with an expired visa. It must be noted that the Emirates ID too would be invalid as soon as the visa expires. So, the application for visa cancellation should be submitted at the ICP before it expires. Check the website for details.
