travel card maidstone to london

For your info, our activities will mainly concentrate in interest places along River Thames (3 days) and Southern England (preferably main attractions nearby Maidstone).

I don't think you can get a weekly ticket from maidstone. Your cheapest option will probably be to buy a "cheap day return" ticket each day you travel to London (you will need to leave Maidstone East after 0930 to get this ticket) and ask the ticket office for a "Travelcard add-on". The Travelcard addition will allow you to travel anywhere on London's buses, tube, trams and trains.

Your daily train ticket will be valid for the 2-for-1 deals at http://www.daysoutguide.co.uk

Trains from Victoria Southeastern side take 55-60 mins

look at http://www.railcard.co.uk you may save money on train fares

Prices for day returns are £28.70 (anytime) or £15.60 (off-peak). If you wish to travel outward during peak hours a weekly season provides big savings.

Above prices don't include Tfl zones 1 and 2 but inclusive tickets and season tickets will be available at Maidstone East station at extra cost. A passport type photo is required for season tickets.

Do make sure you are at the right London station for your return to Maidstone.

Maodstone itself is ok for shopping/hotels and food, and has good links for Kent Coast/Canterbury, pretty villages too and Ashford International for links to the kent coast and Euro star.

hope this helps,

Thank you everyone. I so appreciate each and every response.

trains to london during the week alternate between going to victoria and london bridge. the london bridge train also goes to waterloo where it terminates.contact http://www.southeasternrailways.co.uk for a timetable. Trains on sundays only go to victoria and are one an hour. you may also ask at the station if there are any "scheduled enginerring works", as these could delay your journey. you can travel "off peak" all day saturday and sunday, but restrictions apply in the mornings as these are very busy commuter trains.

Scheduled engineering works can be viewed here (select 'Southern' as train operator for Maidstone services): http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/service_disruptions/currentAndFuture.html
