Creating a Memorable House Tour Experience

Creating a memorable house tour experience is all about having the right combination of organization, detail and hospitality. It doesn’t matter if you’re showing off a newly remodeled home or a piece of living history; planning the perfect tour requires a bit of effort and attention to detail. Implementing these simple tips will help ensure a tour that your guests will remember and appreciate.

  • First, set the stage by offering information and atmosphere. Providing guests a brief history of the home, and even the origin of the owners and family, can create a greater appreciation of the tour and its features. Consider adding a few special touches to provide a pleasant atmosphere and your guests’ comfort. Examples include offering a beverage, a light snack, or a fragrant candle. Also, clear away any clutter to ensure the tour’s focus is the home and its features.
  • Finally, be sure to focus your tour appropriately. An effective guide knows what to skip and what to linger on. Concentrate most of your attention on the key areas or unique features, as you don’t want to bore or overwhelm your guests. Make sure you have time allotted for questions and discussion and you’re also available to follow up with post-tour information or gift bags. When it’s all said and done, be sure to thank your guests and they’ll certainly remember and appreciate your efforts. Good luck!

Creating a memorable house tour experience begins with careful planning. As your guests will be seeing a variety of areas and elements of your home, be sure that each portion of the tour has both a purpose and significance. First, focus on the unique features of your home, such as built-in cabinetry or fireplaces, and highlight why your home is special or unique. Take some time to provide a brief history of the home and its owners and be sure to provide a few special touches to create a pleasant atmosphere.

Choosing the Best Furnishings For a House Tour

Choosing the best furnishings for a house tour can be a daunting task. You want to make sure that the furnishings in the house look great, and that they also present a home that visitors will be eager to visit. To make sure that the furnishings you choose will be the perfect complement to the house, here are some tips on selecting the ideal pieces.

  • First, it is essential to choose furniture that is both comfortable and visually pleasing. Consider the size, shape, and style of the furniture, and make sure that it complements the décor in the house. Materials such as stainless steel, brass and leather can give a modern look, while more traditional pieces may be better for a more classic touch. Additionally, think about furniture that is easy to move around if needed, such as an armchair that can swivel and rock. Finally, look at the existing fabrics and wallpapers in the house and select furnishings that work well with those colors or patterns.
  • Lastly, it is important to consider the emotional impact of the furnishings. Choose pieces that make the guests feel welcome and safe. This could include a cozy sofa in the living room, a comfy dining table in the kitchen or a luxurious armchair in the bedroom. By selecting pieces that embody the goal of the tour, visitors will be able to appreciate the furnishings and feel right at home.

In short, when selecting the best furnishings for a house tour, consider the size, style, materials and emotional impact of the pieces. By choosing the right furniture, visitors will not only enjoy the tour but also be able to appreciate the beauty of the home.

Decor Ideas Inspiration from Our House Tour

Our recently completed house tour is full of decor ideas and inspiration to help you create a stylish and comfortable home. During the tour, we discovered an array of beautiful aesthetics, efficient layouts and clever storage solutions.

  • In the bedrooms we explored, we loved the luxurious bohemian vibes. Velvet curved headboards, vibrant textiles, dreamy textures and lush greenery made these spaces warm and inviting. Bold artwork and accent lighting fixtures provide a sense of personality and individuality to each room.
  • Neutral tones in the living and dining areas created a light, airy and tranquil atmosphere. Select pieces of mid-century modern furniture complemented the neutral backdrop, while interesting decorative accents added a unique touch. Open shelving provides extra storage space, as well as displaying beautiful books, vases and other home pieces. The overall result is a perfect balance of modernity, comfort and elegance.

With all the ideas and inspiration from our home tour, you can turn your house into an inviting sanctuary with all the beauty and character of a designer space —without spending a fortune. So, why not take a look at our tour and start making your decor vision a reality? We can’t wait to see the beautiful results!

Happy decorating!

The 10 Best Architectural Digest Celebrity House Tours on YouTube

tour home youtube

Architectural Digest's YouTube channel, and its "Open Door" series in particular, is one of life's greatest gifts. It filled the void that MTV cribs left in its wake when the series ended in 2010... and we're huge fans.

Because it's not every day we real estate addicts get to see behind the closed doors of luxurious, extravagant, and quirky celebrity homes. From a converted windmill in the Hamptons and a duplex penthouse apartment at the Plaza Hotel in NYC to the mansions of the Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles , each home on this list will leave you both in awe and filled with inspiration.

These are the top 10 best Architectural Digest celebrity house tours...

1. robert downey jr..

First up we have Robert Downey Jr. and his wife Susan Downey's converted windmill abode. This is not your run-of-the-mill (see what we did there?) Hamptons summer home, it was designed by renowned New York City firm Fox-Nahem Associates who transformed the late-19th century windmill into a charming and very private East Hampton masterpiece with stunning grounds. The highlight? Susan's office in the very top of the windmill is the ideal WFH situation and we couldn't be more jealous.

In this very humorous home tour we get to see everything from Robert's art projects and clutter closets to their table-side nap zone and numerous cats. If you're in the mood for a chuckle, look no further.

2. Dakota Johnson

If you love all things mid-century modern, this is the celebrity home tour for you.

Architectural Digest kindly bring us inside the beautiful home of movie star Dakota Johnson. Formerly the home of director Ryan Murphy, Dakota purchased the super private Hollywood Hills home for $3.55 million in 2016. Features of envy include beautiful crushed mohair vintage sofas, her cozy office with book wall, gorgeous green kitchen, and backyard oasis complete with citrus trees, a heated swimming pool, and an elevated bamboo-sheltered hot tub area.

There isn't an inch of this lush but humble abode that we don't love.

3. Wiz Khalifa

This episode of "Open Door" is currently the most viewed of all time with 43 million views. It brings us inside Wiz Khalifa's $4.6 million mansion and recording studio in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles.

The rapper's super cool pad features a heated infinity pool with incredible views, a games room with a dab AND booze bar, an underground recording studio, weed-themed photo wall, and a fleet of killer cars. Proof that this man is living the dream.

4. Cara and Poppy Delevigne

You may never find more personality in a home thanks to the Delevigne sisters' jungle-inspired home in Los Angeles.

Nicolò Bini of Line Architecture told Architectural Digest of the home, “I wanted to create a true L.A. moment for them, with nods to California midcentury modern, Laurel Canyon bohemia, Beverly Hills swank, surfing culture, and a little Mexico. Then we tied all that in with Cara and Poppy’s Englishness to give the house another layer of Delevingne charm.” The interior of this home is one-of-a-kind, no doubt about it.

Header image credit: Architectural Digest / Trevor Tondro

Over in Benedict Canyon, Los Angeles , you'll find producer and DJ Zedd's $16 million mansion.

Highlights of this Architectural Digest "Open Door" episode include the incredible canyon and hill views, indoor trees, an art gallery, and a Skittle machine. Spanning a whopping 9,500 square feet, this mansion even has its own detached studio and gym and will soon have a separate "guest-house-bowling-alley-complex". Casual...

You can understand why this is the second most viewed video on Architectural Digest's YouTube with a staggering 43 million views.

6. Kendall Jenner

Next up we have supermodel and Kardashian clan member Kendall Jenner whose serene Los Angeles home was designed by Kathleen and Tommy Clements and Waldo Fernandez. The interior of the home blends super tasteful elements and earthy shades with fun, unexpected pops of color and a calm, peaceful atmosphere.

Keep an eye out for Kendall's incredible art collection including a signature James Turrell ovoid wall sculpture as well as her incredible fireplace, beautiful bar, art studio, dream-worthy chef's kitchen, gold bathtub, glam room, and so much more.

7. J Balvin

Travel with us to Colombia for this next "Open Door" episode where we get to explore superstar J Balvin's tranquil home. Inspired by Japan aesthetics and minimalism, the house features floor-to-ceiling windows that bring nature indoors. The open plan kitchen and living room open up to the great outdoors, with a wonderful indoor / outdoor flow. The pool area is beyond dream-worthy and is surrounded by lush and tropical greenery and bonsai trees.

The minimalism and neutral color palette changes greatly when you enter J Balvin's walk-in closet where  over 850 pairs of sneaker line the walls in explosions of color. The man loves his shoes...

8. Hilary Duff

Next we'll enjoy a tour of Hilary Duff's vibrant, colorful, and cheerful family home in Los Angeles . A self-confessed home renovation addict, Hilary has renovated this house twice in the last eight years. The latest one has resulted in a quirky and somewhat eccentric aesthetic with a focus on family, livability, and large spaces to spend time in with beautiful art and tasteful features throughout.

The highlight of this home tour has got to be the chicken coop out in the back yard.

9. Tommy Hilfiger

Journey back to New York with us now for what may be the most luxurious and opulent home on this list. Legendary fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger and his wife Dee reportedly purchased this duplex penthouse apartment at the Plaza Hotel for $25.5 million in 2008 (they've since sold it for $31 million, although originally listed it for $80 million).

This Plaza apartment overlooks Central Park, with incredible views of the city as far as the eye can see. This particular unit steeped in history having once hosted the likes of The Beatles, Marilyn Monroe, and many more iconic figures. You won't find another apartment like this in New York City.

10. Aaron Paul

Come check out Aaron Paul's custom wood and stone Idaho home. Despite the house being enormous, it has a very cozy, almost cabin-like vibe to it, tucked away in the snowy mountains and surrounded by trees and lakes. Just watching this home tour will make you feel warm 'n' fuzzy inside.

With the help of interior designer Jake Arnold and Pearson Design Group, the Pauls purchased and used the wood from three 120-year-old barns to build the house from scratch. Drool over the cathedral ceilings, vast living spaces, stone bathrooms, spacious bedrooms, and an incredible floor-to-ceiling fireplace.

Plus, a bonus one, but a must-watch nonetheless.

11. Naomi Campbell

Last but not least, we just haaad to include icon Naomi Campbell's Kenya compound and airy villa. On the coast of the Indian Ocean, in the tranquil seaside town of Malindi, lies this tranquil and "very calming place".

From the indoor/outdoor flow and two pools, to the restaurant-like outdoor dining area and on-site spa - we've never seen anything quite like this one... take a look for yourself.

HOUSE Summer Home Tour (and a Home Tour Video)

tour home youtube

Last week I had the most amazing team come to the house from Farmhouse Living.

They have an incredible blog.

And an amazing YouTube channel.

They showed up and toured the house and asked me questions and listened to all the stories from the house.

All the DIY’s.

All the thrift store finds.

All the times I lay on the ground in my bathroom in my wedding dress.

And the best part?

They got it all on tape.

She sent me the video and the photographs and when I watched the footage, I discovered something amazing.

I am in LOVE with my house.

And so today, I want to take you on a tour complete with stories and ideas and DIY’s and never-before-seen angles of the house and share with you 20 reasons why I love my home.

Are you ready?

You might want to grab refreshments.

It’s a LOT.

tour home youtube

1. This crack

Can you see it? Right there in the glass on the door?

I never really photograph it.

That crack is amazing.

It’s how I feel about my entire house. Imperfect and distressed and worn and thrifted and lived in and yard saled.

But absolutely perfect.

2. These blue and white striped chairs

I’ve ordered six of them.

You can find them and all the pieces that are near and dear to my heart on my Shop My House page.

3. The molding in this room

It’s 12″ thick and layers and layers of different types of molding created by some craftsman 100 years ago after he finished putting up the crops.

tour home youtube

4. This bay window

It’s where the Christmas tree has gone for my entire life.

We replaced the windows and now they open up and let in the breezes on a cool afternoon.

I just found this table at a thrift store and transformed it to fit in this space.

5. The color on these walls

This room has been painted a zillion different colors.

And right now?

This one is my favorite.

It’s SW Extra White and it’s the perfect backdrop for all that pattern.

6. The map on the far wall

You’ll NEVER guess where I found it.

It’s the original map of our subdivision and it showed up here.

tour home youtube

7. The texture on this wall

You can see it so much better in the home tour video, but the texture in this room is amazing.

My sister took a comb and dragged it through drywall mud when we were in high school.

And the texture is still there.

8. These vintage french doors

They are oversized and beautiful and they frame the view into the living room.

We replaced the hinges, but the hardware is original.

tour home youtube

9. This bathroom

This is where I put lipstick on in this mirror before I walked outside for my first date.

It’s where I stood after I accepted a marriage proposal from an Angry Lemon.

Most of the major events in my life have started and ended with a footstep from these floors.

tour home youtube

10. This mirrored staircase

In the video, we discuss this staircase how all these vintage mirrors came together to form a wall.

I found them from all over the world.

Whichever came first.

11. These stair rods

They make me so happy every time I walk up the stairs.

Stair rods are like jewelry.

And my staircase is bejeweled.

tour home youtube

12. The molding on this staircase

I get asked all the time for a tutorial on this molding.

I had nothing to do with it.

Some incredible craftsman created it before I was ever born.

Probably right after he finished the living room molding.

13. This tiny dresser

It was my husband’s grandmother’s.

Those tiny little casters on the bottom.

It was damaged and we painted and distressed it.

tour home youtube

14. The color on this kitchen island

We recently painted kitchen island SW Peppercorn.

It’s the prettiest color.

We painted the butler’s pantry the same color, too.

15. All the stories

The picture above catches me in action.

If you came over for sweet tea, this is what my face would look like.

It’s always in motion.

tour home youtube

16. All the places to sit in this kitchen

There are so many different stations in this kitchen.

And I’m here for all of them.

This kitchen is the heart of our home and the place where all the stories show up and stay.

17. These wood floors

The rest of the floors in the house are over 100 years old.

But these floors?

My mother added them 30 years ago and we recently had them refinished.

tour home youtube

18. This laundry room

I love these built-ins and how they are organized.

The door in here is an old dutch door with a top and a bottom.

And the tiled floor has my heart, too.

19. The built-ins in the family room

My mother added them years ago.

We redid them and added lighting and molding.

They just make me happy.

tour home youtube

20. This family

But the thing that makes me the happiest about this house?

The thing that makes my heart fill with joy?

These people.

All the stories.

All the laughter.

All the giggles and the late nights and the games and the meals and the celebrations and the living.

This house is here for every one.

PS Thank you so much for joining me on the tour today.

You can see the entire video of the house here.

PPS If you have any questions about the stuff that’s actually in the house, you can Shop My House and Shop My Favorites here.

disclosure:: All the house pictures in this house were taken by the incredibly talented Charlee Tabor Photography .

And a GIANT THANK YOU to the entire crew from Farmhouse Living for this amazing opportunity.

What a beautiful home! Love that the very cells of your home contain the past, present and future of your family. So many stories-maybe you should write a book with the stories around the house.

Image for Donna

Way cool and have been a follower for years, but I still found this to be delightful. Thanks so much for your positive spirit. It would be difficult to choose my favorite DIY of yours. They all contribute to make a house a house. Sweet. Sweet.

You are such an amazing person and storyteller, and your home reflects the love and memories you have in it! I, too, live in the home where I grew up that my grandfather built for us the year I was born. It’s so true that our home reflects who we are. So many memories of growing up here, and now my children and grandchildren are making more memories here for me! Your stories are always so inspirational and I look forward to your blog every day!

Image for Joan

As always, you gave us a wonderful tour of a place that is not just beautifully decorated, but is filled with glorious memories. You have a beautiful home, and a beautiful family!

What an amazing opportunity for an amazing woman with an amazing home - did I get enough amazings in there KariAnne? In case you were wondering - I love your home and all of the stories and memories attached to your DIYs! Now, I'm off to check out the video - bye!

Image for Janet Price

Loved the video! You make me want to get back to the blog I started about a year ago. I love your philosophy about your home. I feel the same way about. I have lived in many homes but believe your home should tell your story. The best compliment I get is when someone comes in and says, "Your house is so you." I enjoy your house and your stories!

Image for marilyn ackerman

So much of your home reminds me of where I grew up in New Jersey. The kitchen windows, the staircase, the Oak flooring, etc.,the great times I had there are the best. Then I thought about it and realized that "my house" was built in 1930 so It is old to. Gosh I miss the place and the good times, and family that is gone. The town there has change so that it is nothing like "home" used to be, but thank God for the memories. Your home is lovely, the love just oozes out of every corner.

Image for Jillian

Always enjoy a tour of your home. What strikes me the most, pretty as it is, is that this is where a family and friends gather and share laughter, holidays, and life. That is priceless. Wondering where you keep appliances. Do you make toast etc in your pantry?

Image for Teresa Y George

Enjoyed the video so much! Even though we know your home well, it was so fun to see how everything flows together. And, of course, we never tire of your delightful stories and positivity! Congrats, Karianne!

Image for Jayne McLeod

Totally enjoyed your home tour Karianne. You and your husband have created a wonderful 'home' for family and friends. Thank you so very much for you're willingness to share all of the creativity, fun stories, beauty and encouragement that seems to just keep on flowin' out of ya ! Please don't ever change that lovely heart of yours ! Enjoy your day. Jayne

Image for Marian

Hi Karianne, I read your blog everyday, and I thought the video was fantastic! I loved hearing the stories about your family. I love the part where you said I could come over and eat chocolate cake on your white sofas. I would be very careful. You are the very best! You spread happiness.

Image for Marlene Stephenson

You are the sweetest most down to earth person, if we ever meet I think I would love to get a hug from you and we are sisters in Christ, and I am so glad. Love your home and stories.

Image for jean

Karianne Love Love Love the tour of your home!!!! It's so comfy and cozy feeling. I love the stair rods; they add so much to the runner. Love that idea. Thanks for always opening yourself to others and your heart is in everything you do!!!! You can see that all over your home. I don't do much white in our home but you have used the blue accents all over your home and it just warms it up, I love that you were able to purchase your farmhouse where you grew up. l know that means the world to you and your beautiful family. Thanks for sharing , jean

Image for kim kurpita

Karrianne, I loved this tour. It was so refreshing to see your home all put together in 1 place so I could admire and scroll back in case I missed something. I need to ask a few things though, why did your sister use a comb and add drywall mud on the wall? Did she get in trouble? Next question, why do you lay on the bathroom floor in your wedding dress? Next on the cute table with the wooden apple and wooden beads and books, those round wooden things I think they are in a white vase are so sweet what are they? And finally can I come to your house and eat chocolate cake in your livingroom?(lol) I look forward to 7 oclock when dinner is over the kitchen is cleaned up to sit and spend an hour every evening with you. You are much admired. Kim

Image for Donna Marie

I want to do better when I take a tour of your home. It is a lot bigger than mine and decorator to the hilt, but I try! You are an inspiration to me and I thank you. The weight loss gets in there too!!!

Such a beautiful tour. I love all the history behind your home. Unfortunately, we didn't have as many cool things in our 101-year-old-home because they did an 80s remodel. Love too many things to list them. Love that your sister put her comb through the drywall mud. Not sure if that got her in trouble or not.

Elevate your love of the game with....

Yes, this Tour pro 6-putted (!) a hole in shocking meltdown: WATCH

Thomas Detry, left, and Stephan Jaeger on Friday on the 6th green at PGA National.

Golf Channel

Oh no.

Six no’s in all. For the six putts Thomas Detry hit Friday on the 6th green on the Champion Course at PGA National Resort, with five coming from less than 6 feet away. If you’re a golfer, you feel — all the feelings? There are mixed emotions, for sure. Pain? Yes, we don’t wish these kinds of things on anyone. Joy? You don’t want to admit it — don’t worry, we won’t tell anyone — but yeah, there’s that odd sensation that develops when someone as otherworldly talented like Detry, a pro golfer for eight years, stumbles around a green like a 25-handicap.

Maybe it’s just sympathy then, along the lines of this:

Hey, we’ve all been there, man.

And Detry was most certainly there during the Cognizant Classic’s second round, where:

— On the 461-yard, par-4 6th, he hit his second shot, from 162 yards out, to about 50 feet. He then hit putt one, his birdie attempt, to 5 feet, 10 inches, according to the PGA Tour’s online leaderboard .

— Detry hit putt two, his par attempt, to the left of the hole, and it finished about three away. Here, Golf Channel cameras were recording.

“Now keep watching here and see what happens,” announcer Steve Sands said on the broadcast. “This is a concentration issue? A four-over-par-late-on-a-Friday issue?”

Six putts on the sixth hole: After lagging his first putt to 6 feet, Thomas Detry took five more swipes. pic.twitter.com/WDcsIdcJy3 — Golf Central (@GolfCentral) March 1, 2024

— Detry took five steps to the right of the hole, stood just on his right foot and hit putt three, his bogey attempt. It lipped out on the right side of the cup and finished about a foot away.

— Detry then took three steps to the left, stood just on his right foot again and hit putt four, his double-bogey try. It lipped out to the right and finished about five feet away.

“Oh no,” said analyst and putting savante Brad Faxon on the broadcast.

— Detry then took five steps to the left, and with his right foot ahead of his left, he hit putt five, his triple-bogey attempt. It lipped out to the left and finished about 3 feet away.

“That’s not concentration,” Faxon said on the broadcast. “That’s a get-me-out-of-here.”

— Finally, Detry took two steps to the right and, standing just on his right foot again, made the putt, his sixth on the green. It gave him a quadruple-bogey eight, with six of the strokes coming on the green. From there, Detry grabbed the ball from the hole with his right hand, took three steps away from the cup — and underhand-tossed the ball into the water to the left of the green. He then took a few more steps and handed his putter to his caddie.

Whew.

There are a few more things to note.

How about the reaction of his playing partners? As Detry putted, Stephan Jaeger stood seemingly emotionless. Michael Kim, meanwhile, revealed later on Twitter that he’d been keeping Detry’s score — and he added this:

“I asked his caddy Lee what his score was on the next hole since I was keeping Thomas’s score and Lee responds “it was an 8… I think”

Also, when’s the last time a PGA Tour pro has six-putted? According to golf-stats guru Justin Ray (who you can follow on Twitter here ), Detry’s effort was the first since Danny Lee’s crusade during the third round of the 2020 U.S. Open at Winged Foot.

That one had a similar vibe . If you don’t recall, have a look below , if you’re into that sort of thing.

Expert Picks: Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches

Expert Picks

How it works: Each week, our experts from PGATOUR.COM will make their selections in PGA TOUR Fantasy Golf . Each lineup consists of four starters and two bench players that can be rotated after each round. Adding to the challenge is that every golfer can be used only three times per each of four Segments.

Aside from the experts below, Golfbet Insider Rob Bolton breaks down the field at the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches in this week's edition of Power Rankings .

Betting picks

WILL GRAY (Lead, Fantasy & Betting)

  • Winner: Shane Lowry (+3300) – The Irishman has been close here before, with top-five results each of the last two years, and he shines the brightest on difficult layouts that emphasize his strength off the tee.
  • Top 10: Taylor Pendrith (+650) – Ball-striking is key at PGA National. It should help the Canadian's inconsistent putting.
  • Longshot: Carson Young (+12500) – Young has played plenty of golf in this part of the country and finished T29 last year in his debut. He’s also made four straight cuts, topping out with his first top-10 result last week in Mexico.
  • Head-to-Head (H2H): Cameron Young (-120) over Russell Henley – Siding with the better all-around player here over a guy with stronger course history. Henley is a past champion with top-10s in each of his last two trips, but if Young plays like he did in Phoenix and L.A. he should contend this week.

BEN EVERILL (Senior writer, Fantasy & Betting)

  • Winner: Stephan Jaeger (+4000) – Great finish (T3) last week to go with his nice T14 in this event a year ago. Jaeger also ranks a respectable 35th in SG: Tee-to-Green this season and is fourth in proximity from 175-200 yards. He led the field in this event in SG: Off-the-Tee in 2023.
  • Top 10: Shane Lowry (+333) – A runner-up and T5 here in his last two starts at PGA National, the last of which he led the field in SG: Tee-to-Green, gives me confidence he will overcome his slow start to this season this week.
  • Longshot: Andrew Novak (+12500) – Astute TOUR fans would have noticed Novak finishing T8 in his last two starts. He now ranks sixth on TOUR in SG: Tee-to-Green.
  • H2H: Matthieu Pavon (-110) over Daniel Berger – The FedExCup leader is on my outright radar at third in SG: Tee-to-Green and 14th in Bogey Avoidance so I like him over Berger here despite the latter’s affinity for PGA National.

CHRIS BREECE (Senior Content Manager, Golfbet)

  • Winner: Byeong Hun An (+2800) – Has T4 and T5 here and already a couple of close calls in 2024.
  • Top 10: J.T. Poston (+275) – With all the longshot winners his solid play has gone unnoticed.
  • Longshot: Luke List (+5000) – He was under the radar before his T2 at Genesis. I think he’s ready for another breakout.
  • H2H: Chris Kirk (-105) over Beau Hossler – I think Kirk will be in the mix on Sunday.

MATT DELVECCHIO (Social Content Manager, Fantasy & Betting)

  • Winner: Corey Conners (+3500) – I can see Conners put on a clinic with his accuracy, which will be perfect for PGA National. He doesn’t have a great history here (his last start was an MC in 2020), but time heals all wounds. A T24, T28 and T31 finish all in the month of February shows me he's ready to break through.
  • Top 10: Shane Lowry (+333) – I really like him this week but avoided the outright play because he just hasn't shown me winning performances yet. He’s barely played this year, with only three starts and no impressive finishes. But, he’s a horse for the course with a T5 and solo second in his last two starts.
  • Longshot: C.T. Pan (+12500) – Hot off a T3 last week, C.T. likes PGA National with a T3 in 2021 and T16 in 2022. The high finish last week may be all the confidence he needs to grab his second career win on TOUR.
  • H2H: Keith Mitchell (-125) over Sepp Straka – Continuing the trend of fading course history here, Sepp just hasn’t been impressive to me lately. MC in two out of four starts this year (though the other two were T26/T12). His SG: Tee-to-Green and SG: Approach are just not there. Mitchell showed me a lot last week finishing T19 after starting the week with three straight bogeys.

Camilo Villegas to replace Jordan Spieth as PGA Tour player director

1784232596

Marianna Massey

The PGA Tour announced Wednesday that Camilo Villegas has been voted the new chairman of the PGA Tour’s player advisory council by his tour peers.

Villegas, 42, had been named to the PAC board last month. He beat out Kevin Streelman for the position. The PGA Tour also announced that Villegas will replace Jordan Spieth—who took over Rory McIlroy’s vacated seat—beginning Jan. 1, 2025. The PAC works with the tour’s board and commissioner Jay Monahan on issues affecting the league. Villegas will join Patrick Cantlay, Peter Malnati, Adam Scott, Webb Simpson and Tiger Woods as player directors.

Villegas authored a career comeback last fall, highlighted by capturing the Butterfield Bermuda Championship for his first win in nine years. A product of Columbia, Villegas has been competing on the tour full-time since 2006. He has five career wins and was a member of the 2009 International Presidents Cup team.

Last month the PGA Tour announced it had come to an agreement with the Strategic Sports Group for private-equity investment in the tour. The tour announced that the deal with SSG will allow for co-investment from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund in the future; however, talks have stalled between the PIF and tour, and PIF’s renewed recruiting of tour players—highlighted by the December defection of Jon Rahm to LIV—led to hurt feelings on the tour side. PIF, meanwhile, looked at the tour’s solicitation with other private equity deals as a betrayal of sorts to the June 6 framework agreement.

Tour players had a meeting earlier this week at the Cognizant Classic regarding those negotiations. Even if an agreement between the PGA Tour and PIF comes together, there's a chance professional golf will not be unified for another one to two years, sources tell Golf Digest.

How to Stream Taylor Swift's Eras Tour Movie on Disney Plus

Taylor Swift's record-breaking concert film lands on Disney Plus in March. Here's how to watch.

The Eras Tour concert film is finally hitting streaming on March 15.

The Eras Tour concert film is finally hitting streaming on March 15.

Disney Plus is entering its Swiftie era. The streamer will be the exclusive home of the newest version of Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour concert film beginning on March 15.

Disney Plus is already home to another Taylor Swift exclusive, " Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions ," a series that chronicles the making of her 2020 album "Folklore." Swift's other documentaries and concert films have been available sporadically on various streaming services, including Netflix and Prime Video.

The first version of The Eras Tour movie came out in theatres, where it was the highest-grossing concert film , as reported by Variety. Then, it was available for rent on demand. Disney Plus's version of the film promises new performances -- and says goodbye to some fan favorites.

Are you ready for it ? If not, we've got you covered. Here's how to watch The Eras Tour (Taylor's Version), and why a VPN may be a useful tool for streaming.

Read More:   Everything You'll Want to Know About Taylor Swift's Eras Tour Movie

Release time for the Eras Tour film in the US and abroad

The film will land on Disney Plus on Friday, March 15 at 3 a.m. ET/12 p.m. PT  in all territories except the Republic of Türkiye, where it will be released on April 3.

Pricing for Disney Plus starts at $8 per month in the US, but if you live in Canada, the platform costs $12CAD a month. UK fans can get the service for either £5 with ads, or £8 a month without ads. You can subscribe for a year and save 16%. In Australia, fans get Disney Plus for AU$14 per month.

Disney Plus

Carries the eras tour (taylor's version).

Disney Plus is the one-stop streaming location for the company's streaming catalog. Subscribers can stream Disney classics, Marvel Studios movies and TV shows and all new Star Wars content.

In the US, Disney Plus' Basic plan will set you back $8 a month, and the Premium plan costs $14 a month or $140 a year.

Disney Plus will serve as the exclusive streaming home for The Eras Tour (Taylor's Version), so if you want to stream the flick, you'll need to sign up for the service.

What's new in the Disney Plus version of the film

Disney Plus' version of the flick will feature Swift's performance of Cardigan, which was previously cut from the theatrical release of the movie, and four additional acoustic songs, although it's not clear yet what those songs might be. Swift recorded six acoustic songs during filming in August, and the performances of Our Song and You're on Your Own, Kid made both the theatrical and on-demand rental versions of the film. That means acoustic performances of I Can See You, Maroon, You Are in Love and Death by a Thousand Cuts could be featured in the newest version of the film.

Songs excluded from the Disney Plus cut of the movie include Long Live, The Archer, Wildest Dreams and No Body, No Crime.

How to stream the film using a VPN

Perhaps you're traveling abroad and want to stream The Eras Tour (Taylor's Version) while away from home. With a VPN, you're able to virtually change your location on your phone, tablet or laptop to get access to the movie from anywhere in the world. There are other good reasons to use a VPN for streaming, too.

A VPN is the best way to stop your ISP from throttling your speeds by encrypting your traffic. Using a VPN is also a great idea if you're traveling and find yourself connected to a Wi-Fi network, and you want to add an extra layer of privacy for your devices and logins. Streaming TV can be a bit smoother with a reliable, quality VPN that's passed our tests and security standards.

You can use a VPN to stream content legally as long as VPNs are legal in your country and you have a valid subscription to the streaming service you're using. The US and Canada are among the countries where VPNs are legal, but we advise against streaming or downloading content on illegal torrent sites. We recommend ExpressVPN, but you may opt for another provider from our best list such as Surfshark or NordVPN .

 width=

Express VPN

Best vpn for streaming.

ExpressVPN is CNET's current best VPN pick . You can sign up for ExpressVPN and save 49% plus get three months of access for free -- the equivalent of $6.67 a month -- if you get the annual subscription. Note that ExpressVPN offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Follow the VPN provider's instructions for installation and choose a country where The Eras Tour movie is streaming on Disney Plus. Before you open the streaming app, make sure you're connected to your VPN using your selected region. If you want to stream The Eras Tour film on more than one device, you may need to configure each one to ensure you are signed in. Go to settings and check your network connections to verify you're logged in and connected to your VPN account. Now you're ready to open Disney Plus to stream.

If you run into issues with streaming, first make sure your VPN is up and running on its encrypted IP address. Double-check that you've followed installation instructions correctly and you've picked the right geographical area for viewing. If you still encounter connection problems, you may need to reboot your device. Close all apps and windows, restart your device and connect to your VPN first. Note that some streaming services have restrictions on VPN access.

Correction, Feb. 9 : An earlier version of this story misstated the number of Taylor Swift's studio albums. The Tortured Poets Department, set for release in April, will be her 11th studio album.

Happy Together Tour 2024

With a show full of chart-topping hits from the ‘60s and ‘70s – an incredible 61 Billboard Top 40 smashes – the Happy Together Tour 2024 features returning favorites and new additions – The Turtles, who also act as musical hosts for the evening, Jay and the Americans, The Association, Badfinger, The Vogues and The Cowsills.

The Turtles

The Turtles are best known for their harmony-heavy California pop sound. With hits such as “Elenore,” “She’d Rather Be With Me,” “It Ain’t Me Babe,” “You Showed Me” and the title of the tour, “Happy Together,” the band ruled the airwaves in the late ‘60s. Ron Dante joins the lineup to delight with his own mega-hits “Sugar, Sugar” and “Tracy.”

Jay and the Americans

Few groups have reached the musical heights of Jay and the Americans. From 1962 to 1971, this group charted an amazing five Billboard Top 10 hits and had 12 records in the Top 20. Their breakout hit was “She Cried,” followed by the hit songs “Only in America,” “Come a Little Bit Closer,” “Cara Mia” and “This Magic Moment,” to name a few.

The Association

The iconic vocal group The Association enjoyed massive radio success in the 1960s with such No. 1 hits as “Cherish,” “Windy,” “Never My Love” and “Along Comes Mary.”

From the legendary lineup, Joey Molland continues the unforgettable legacy of Badfinger. One of the original signings to The Beatles’ Apple Records label, the group had its first hit single with a Paul McCartney-penned song “Come and Get It,” which went to No. 7 on the U.S. charts. Badfinger followed this with its own compositions “No Matter What,” “Day After Day” (produced by George Harrison) and “Baby Blue,” which went to No. 8, No. 4 and No. 14, respectively.

The Vogues, known for their harmony-driven soaring pop sound, had numerous Top 10 hits with singles such as “Five O’Clock World,” “You’re the One,” “My Special Angel” and “Turn Around, Look at Me,” among others.

The Cowsills

This harmonious singing family of two brothers and a sister, which inspired the smash ‘60s hit television show “The Partridge Family,” are sure to delight with their best-known songs “Hair,” “Indian Lake,” “The Rain, the Park & Other Things (I Love the Flower Girl)” and more.

Book tour: At home with Lisa Scottoline

The best-selling thriller writer walks us through her vast home library, a collection that runs from philip roth to nancy drew.

Nora Krug photo

Lisa Scottoline wasn’t kidding when she said to me, “Books should be integrated with your life.” Nearly every room in the thriller writer’s home, outside Philadelphia, feels like a library — even the kitchen has a well-loved collection of cookbooks tucked beneath the island and inside a cupboard. In the places where shelf space has reached its limit, Scottoline has come to rely on other types of furniture: tufted lounge chairs, where new books live temporarily but luxuriously, and book carts, color-coordinated with the rooms in which they live — blue in the sunroom, hot pink in one office, maroon in another.

tour home youtube

Scottoline shares her sprawling stone farmhouse with several pets — two Cavalier King Charles spaniels and one cat — but she displays her books (she estimates 5,000 of them) for fellow humans to browse and admire. (Also on her property but well away from the bookshelves: horses, chickens and rabbits.) She takes the idea of a home library seriously. A few years ago, she ordered engraved plaques to denote each section: Reference, Fiction, Signed, etc. “It makes me feel like a fake librarian,” she joked. And, “just in case the dogs want to know,” there’s a plaque that says Dogs in front of her vast collection of canine-themed books.

tour home youtube

Signed editions

We began our tour, accompanied by Scottoline’s daughter, the novelist Francesca Serritella (“Ghosts of Harvard”), in the magnificently sunny living room, where floor-to-ceiling shelves cover pretty much any wall that doesn’t have a window. First up are the dog books and illustrated tomes about gardening and opera, two of Scottoline’s other passions; some of the oversize editions are laid out elegantly on tables. Next, the prized section: signed editions.

Scottoline is best known for her legal thrillers. Like John Grisham, she is an attorney, though her beloved Rosato & DiNunzio series stars an all-female team of lawyers. Scottoline published her first novel, “Everywhere That Mary Went,” in 1994. In the few years before that, she divorced for a second time (for her thoughts on marriage, see her book “Why My Third Husband Will Be a Dog,” from 2009) and quit her job as a lawyer to pursue novel writing while raising her young daughter. It was a struggle. Despite her many successes since — more than 30 novels, an Edgar Award, multiple No. 1 bestsellers and TV deals — she has not forgotten the hardships of those early years or the support she received from readers and bookstores.

tour home youtube

To pay it forward, Scottoline buys books by contemporary authors, preferably signed editions. A self-described hermit, she orders them online from various independent bookstores, like Poisoned Pen Bookstore in Scottsdale, Ariz., and The Mysterious Bookshop in New York. Most of the nearly 800 books in this collection are, not surprisingly, mystery novels: works by Michael Connelly, David Baldacci, Lee Child, Alafair Burke, Laura Lippman and more. Scottoline and Serritella pulled out some favorites, such as the stack from Harlan Coben, the inscriptions in which feature some cheeky jokes I won’t print here. Also, close to her heart, two first editions of Philip Roth’s “Portnoy’s Complaint,” which are the only unsigned books in this treasured display.

tour home youtube

Philip Roth

In the mid-1970s, Scottoline studied English at the University of Pennsylvania, where she also earned her law degree. One of her undergraduate professors was none other than Roth, whose books take up most of a shelf in the dining room. Scottoline recalled his class with remarkable clarity and enthusiasm: “It was a year-long seminar, 14 students who wanted to just be in the same room as Philip Roth — and not in a weird way,” she said. “This was before he got mega-mega. You had to be a hardcore book nerd to want to be there. It was Tuesday afternoon from 2 to 4, and he would come in from New York. He called us Mr. and Ms., and we had to call him Mr. Roth. He would sit down at a table, take off his watch to keep track of class time and lecture extemporaneously. The first half of the course was literature of the Holocaust, which introduced me to Primo Levi. The second half of the course was about desire. The subject was erotic, but it was very un-erotically taught; it was very academic. We read people like Robert Musil, Yukio Mishima, Kobo Abe — really unusual views of sexuality from different cultures.” In 1977, Roth published “The Professor of Desire,” a novel about David Kepesh, who teaches a course called “Desire 341.”

tour home youtube

“This is my ‘when I’m being serious’ office,” Scottoline says as we reach the top of the stairs to the second floor. Here, as in her downstairs office, is a treadmill desk, where the author walks and writes — 2,000 words and 5,000 steps daily. The room is spacious enough for an upholstered chair (with mini-stairs for the pets), reference books, an enlarged photo of Roth that Scottoline took for the Penn yearbook, as well as another important photo — of Bradley Cooper, who played a Philadelphia Eagles fan in the film “Silver Linings Playbook.” (Scottoline is also an avid Eagles fan.)

tour home youtube

But the highlight of this room sits on a shelf above the desk: Scottoline’s Nancy Drew collection. Growing up in a house with few books, Scottoline discovered Drew in the library. “For young girls who are like me” — independent, strong, direct — Drew is a role model, she explained: “She’s in the driver’s seat. She’s nobody’s passenger. She decides her adventures.” The books are a love shared by mother and daughter, who also write a joint column for the Philadelphia Inquirer called Chick Wit . Also on this floor, tucked away unassumingly, are copies of Scottoline’s own books. Her latest novel, “The Truth About the Devlins,” comes out in March.

tour home youtube

Hobonichi books

About three years ago, a librarian introduced Scottoline to Hobonichi books, Japanese notebooks that come in a variety of designs, colors and sizes. The notebooks — actually datebooks with inspirational quotes, but Scottoline ignores all that — are scattered throughout the house. Writing down a thought “fixes it in my brain, and then I have have it in something pretty, to keep.”

Scottoline, a former president of Mystery Writers of America, writes her novels on a computer but dictates “when I hit an emotional or action-oriented scene, because then I find it easier to actually tell the story.” She admitted that her handwriting is almost illegible. “The notes in my Hobonichis are thoughts about the novel I’m working on, which come to me when I’m doing other things. I only hope I can read them later.” In another home office, we gave it a try: “The detectives wore lanyards,” she read; then, flipping pages, she saw a note she had taken detailing a historical person’s life. She keeps a reference shelf and research materials on a wide variety of subjects — forensics, Italian history and of course the law — on shelves and carts throughout the first floor.

tour home youtube

The book carts

“I want to proselytize about book carts,” Scottoline said — and did. She has five of them, each in a different room. She bought the first one about five years ago and hasn’t looked back. “They’re not cheap, but they’re cheaper than bookshelves.” For one thing, they are wonderfully practical — “they’re the perfect solution for people who have overflow books, which is mostly everybody who has books” — but “the real reason is fun! I bet people who love books also love school, office and library supplies. It’s the associative principle of people-who-like-pages. Staples is porn for us.” Scottoline uses the carts for reference materials and her extensive TBR piles. “I buy a lot of research books for my novels, and I like to keep them close at hand when I write. So I put the books I’m currently using on a cart that I roll next to my desk.” The blue cart in the sunroom is filled with a variety of titles, from Emily Henry to Primo Levi. It’s near the back door, so Scottoline can easily grab a book for the backyard, one of her favorite reading spots.
