Country star Kenny Chesney wields his guitar onstage.

It’s time to kick off your sneakers, No Shoes Nation.

Country icon Kenny Chesney just announced his 19-concert “I Go Back” 2023 tour that will take him to arenas all over North America from March 25 through May 27.

However, this go-round won’t be like his 2022 “Here and Now” stadium tour.

Rather than playing the same major cities and venues he always hits, Chesney is trekking to cities off the beaten path next year.

“I decided rather than just go repeat what we did on this summer’s stadium tour, I wanted to take this band and these songs to a lot of the cities we played on our way up, call it the I Go Back Tour and do just that,” Chesney shared on Instagram .

For those who don’t want to wait to buy tickets to see “Little Gravy” live, you can actually snag your tickets as early as  today .

While Chesney’s tickets won’t officially be available to the general public on Ticketmaster until Dec. 2, you can secure seats ahead of time on  Vivid Seats  before tickets are officially on sale.

Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

The site has a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure, and tickets will be delivered before the event.

Kenny Chesney tour calendar

As noted earlier, Chesney is taking his hits like “American Kids,” “Get Along,” or “You And Tequila” to cities he hasn’t performed at in far too long.

A complete list of upcoming Chesney concerts can be found below to see if your city made the cut.

Kenny Chesney new music

Although the 54-year-old star hasn’t released an album since 2020’s “Here and Now,” he did drop a single with Old Dominion in 2022.

You can find the music video for his new three-minute singalong anthem, “Beer With My Friends,” below.

Kenny Chesney opening act

At all shows, Chesney will bring rising country star and fellow Knoxville, TN, native Kelsea Ballerini along with him.

“Singing with Kenny is going home,” the 29-year-old singer told People Magazine. “To be able to go out to those cities like the place he and I grew up (in)… it’s a lot like going home.”

Want to hear Ballerini’s latest?

Her well-received, pop country 2022 album “Subject To Change,” can be heard here .

Kenny Chesney to Embark on Nostalgic I Go Back 2023 Tour with Kelsea Ballerini — See the Dates!

Kicking off in March, the tour will see Chesney play shows for fans "who might not come to stadium shows, who live a little off the obvious path, but who love this music every bit as much..."

Kenny Chesney is going back to his roots.

Shortly after his massive Here and Now 2022 Tour wrapped in August, the country superstar announced on Monday that he's embarking on the I Go Back Tour with opening act Kelsea Ballerini next year, which will see Chesney hit cities outside of major markets — and many that he hasn't played since his rise to fame.

Launching March 25 at the Bryce Jordan Center in State College, Pennsylvania, the I Go Back Tour will feature shows in North American locations including Lexington, Kentucky, Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma before wrapping July 22 at the Hy-Vee Indy Race in Des Moines, Iowa — with more dates set to be added.

Chesney, 54, opened up about the tour's inspiration in a press release, telling fans that he was thinking about how to "recapture the magic" after concluding the Here and Now Tour.

"I still have the sounds of diesel engines and No Shoes Nation in my head — and that made me ask, 'What else could I do? What would be something that would put me every bit as much in the music and give No Shoes Nation another reason to believe?'" he stated, noting that he wants to play for fans "who might not come to stadium shows, who live a little off the obvious path, but who love this music every bit as much..."

The thought led the 12-time CMA Award-winner to think about his 2004 hit single "I Go Back," written about how music can remind you of important life moments.

"That song is about holding all those things that shaped you very close, recognizing how special they are – and keeping them alive any way you can," he continued. "So, I decided that rather than just go repeat what we did, I wanted to take this band and these songs to a lot of the cities we played on our way up! Let's call the tour I Go Back – and do just that."

Elsewhere in the press release, Chesney recalled playing some of the cities during the early years of his career, noting the "craziness" of the shows in "markets where people were using chain-cutters to get onto the lawn because we were so sold out in the Carolinas."

"That's a kind of energy that should never be left behind. For all those fans — based on how good last year felt — I want to bring what was coming off that stage to you, where you are, so we can all have that kind of experience together!" added Chesney.

Fans can expect to see the musician perform songs from his catalog that "time stamp people's lives" and "serve as the touchstone for memories in the making."

He said in the statement, "For people to come out and either live these songs again, or hear them for the first time? Who knows what will happen? But I know whether it's 'American Kids,' 'Get Along' or 'You And Tequila,' every single person knows exactly what we're singing about and singing along to together."

In another press release, Chesney spoke about choosing Ballerini, 29, as the tour's opening act following their 2020 duet "Half of My Hometown."

"Kelsea understands everything about where I come from, because she's from there, too," said the musician, referencing the fact that both he and Ballerini grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee.

"She knows how hard it is to leave, how much you miss all those things that make you who you are... but also how the only way to chase the kind of dream she has is to do just that. It's a tough call when you love home the way we both do, but for kids like us, there was never really a choice," added Chesney.

He then recalled the origin of "Half of My Hometown," noting that Ballerini texted him to record the duet: "As soon as I heard that first verse, I was in. And I have been one of Kelsea's biggest fans ever since. She's a writer, a girl who sings from her heart and isn't afraid to honor where she comes from. To me, there was no other choice for this tour."

Ballerini also spoke about collaborating with Chesney on both the song and tour in the press release, acknowledging their hometown connection.

"Music has taken me so many incredible places," she said, noting that she's collaborated across genres. "But singing with Kenny is going home. He was the only voice I heard on 'half of my hometown,' and when he comes in, it's just like hitting the Knoxville city limits. So to be able to go out to those cities like the place he and I grew up with an artist who's accomplished what he has, it's a lot like going home."

Kenny Chesney Announces 2023 I Go Back Tour with Kelsea Ballerini

by Alli Patton November 21, 2022, 1:49 pm

“When a year is as hot and alive as 2022 was you don’t want to try to recapture that magic,” country star Kenny Chesney said in a statement.

Videos by American Songwriter

Instead, the singer has brainstormed ways to make his next tour even bigger than the last. All the while, he promises to bring his shows to fans residing off the beaten tour path.

“I still have the sounds of diesel engines and No Shoes Nation in my head,” the country star continued. “And that made me ask, ‘What else could I do? What would be something that would put me every bit as much in the music and give No Shoes Nation another reason to believe? How can we reach those people who might not come to stadium shows, who live a little off the obvious path, but who love this music every bit as much.”

That’s when it hit him to go back the way he came. The “I Go Back” way. Fittingly, his upcoming tour is named and inspired by his 2004 hit, “I Go Back.”

“That song is about holding all those things that shaped you very close, recognizing how special they are – and keeping them alive any way you can,” he said. “So, I decided that rather than just go repeat what we did, I wanted to take this band and these songs to a lot of the cities we played on our way up! Let’s call the tour I Go Back – and do just that.”

Chesney wants to bring the energy of those early days of touring to his upcoming run of shows. “I remember coming up, the craziness of so many of those dates,” Chesney said. “Markets where people were using chain-cutters to get onto the lawn because we were so sold out in the Carolinas… and that’s a kind of energy that should never be left behind. For all those fans – based on how good last year felt – I want to bring what was coming off that stage to you, where you are, so we can all have that kind of experience together!”

Joining Chesney on the road will be fellow Tennessee native, Kelsea Ballerini. “Kelsea understands everything about where I come from, because she’s from there, too,” Chesney said of his tour mate. “She’s a writer, a girl who sings from her heart and isn’t afraid to honor where she comes from. To me, there was no other choice for this tour.”

The two collaborated on Ballerini’s 2021 single and No. 1 hit, “half of my hometown.”

“Music has taken me so many incredible places,” Ballerini said. “Around the world, singing with some of my heroes in pop, alternative and contemporary music, but singing with Kenny is going home. He was the only voice I heard on ‘half of my hometown,’ and when he comes in, it’s just like hitting the Knoxville city limits. So to be able to go out to those cities like the place he and I grew up with an artist who’s accomplished what he has, it’s a lot like going home.”

The I Go Back Tour will kick off on Mar. 25 at Bryce Jordan Center in State College, Pennsylvania, and will criss-cross the country for a 21-date trek.

Kenneth Arnold "Kenny" Chesney is an award winning American country music singer from Powell, Tennessee who released his first album in 1994.

Chesney's beginnings in music are traced to Christmas in 1986 when he was gifted his first guitar and began teaching himself to play. Chesney's musical career took a slight side step as he decided to pursue a degree in advertising at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, where he was a member of the ETSU Bluegrass Program and the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. In 1989, Chesney recorded his first self-released demo album at the Classic Recording Studio in Bristol, Virginia. He managed to sell 1,000 copies while performing on the local scene in Johnson City and used the money from album sales to help buy a new guitar. After graduation, he headed to Nashville and performed at several local clubs. He became the resident performer at The Turf, a honky tonk bar in the city's historic district.

Chesney's first album, In My Wildest Dreams, was released on the independent Capricorn Records label in April 1994 which was a moderate to mediocre release in the US Country charts, however later that year Capricorn Records closed their country department and moved to Atlanta so Chesney's career had a slight false start. His first major chart success came in the form of 'Me And You' which broke the US country top 10 and spawned three hit singles. This was merely the beginning for Kenny, his following releases all managed to sell extremely well, 14 of his 15 releases are certified gold or higher to date. From 1998, when 'She's Got It All' topped the US country charts, Kenny went on to score another sixteen US Country number ones and made substantial chart positioning on the Billboard charts too, with the 2009 single 'Out Last Night' breaking the top twenty.

Chesney's most recent charity work includes working with the V Foundation, founded by North Carolina State Wolfpack basketball coach Jim Valvano to help to find a cure for cancer. He is one of the most consistently successful country performers in the States and has sold over thirty million albums to date.

Live reviews

As usual, our man delivers an amazing performance and at Heinz Field of all places!!!!! I planned our weekend in Pittsburgh around Kenny Chesney as a surprise back in November for Christmas. He was our first date a little over 3 years ago in Raleigh NC and we have seen him every time he's return, including coincidently, our anniversary weekend this year!!! My girlfriend is a very serious serious Steelers weekend so I thought this was a perfect Christmas present for us ♡♡♡ BUT I purchased my tickets through his fans club the morning they went on sale and there was no indication our tickets were had a huge visual blockage to the stage. The large tower for the lighting was directly in front of us. We were section 114 Row B seats 114 and 115. I wish I had been able to afford better seats in general but had I known there was a big tower blocking our view I would have spent a little bit more to avoiding tha . Unfortunately tickets went on sale for me thanksgiving/black Friday and I also had Christmas and Birthday shopping and planning for my 9 year daughter but I had everything planned perfectly but I would have changed something to not be directly behind that tower. Kenny Chesney is my number one on my top 3 list of performers! I have seen him every time he's came to North Carolina the last 8 years and every concert in purchase tickets for at Walnut Creek they always inform me what sections/seats have visual impairments or that aren't under the covered pavilion in case that's an issue. We were able to see him on the screen to the left looking around people but if the screen are the back of the stadium had been on the tower probably would not have bothered us. My girlfriend has a torn MCL and a piece of cartridge broken off in her knee and is awaiting surgery so fighting to see around people sucked. BUT those things were personal issues for us. Kenny Chesney as usual was perfect!!!

I just want to say that last night was freaking amazing! My daughter and I watched an incredible line up of acts that put all other tours to shame (in our opinion) Kenny had so much love pouring from him and we felt all of it. Midand sounded amazing on that stage with their traditional sound, so glad I was there to see their first trip to Gillette's stage. Old Dominion never lets us down, such an awesome group of talented singer/songwriters with great stage presence and chemistry. Love that they came back out to sing Save it for a rainy day with Kenny. Thomas Rhett (Home Team) blew the place up with an acoustic set that filled the entire stadium, that took guts and was fantastic. He sang all his hits, got us all dancing and singing along. I caught up with an old friend Karen Jones You dearly!! Met some new friends and am waking up in Massachusetts with a slight headache but it was well earned and deserved lol If you would like to see my pics and video, I will post more later but some are up on my Facebook page so go on over and enjoy. To those heading to tonight's show, have a blast, make memories & remember to spread the love and donate your shoes for SolesforSouls for free flip flops by Blue Chair Bay Rum

This was Kenny's 16th show at Gillette and our 5 year anniversary as No Shoes Nation, our theme song is now NSNSNP - Thank you Kenny, much love!

The Atlantic Ocean is a huge, huge expanse, but there’s many genres that seem to go down equally well on either side of it; from The Beatles to Nicki Minaj, artists have spent decades and decades now proving that geography can often count for little where taste in music is concerned. One style that never seems to have quite managed that same balance, though, is country, and Kenny Chesney is a fine example of that; in his homeland, he’s a megastar, with a slew of prestigious awards to his name and in excess of thirty million records sold. Over on this side of the pond, though, he’s nothing more than a cult figure. Not that it’s slowed him down, though; in September, he’ll release The Big Revival, his seventeenth record, and continue to tour North America as prodigiously as he has for the past two decades now in support of it. The nearest thing country really has to a modern-day pop star, U.S. audiences can expect to see Chesney and his band run through a set that spans his entire career, with the man himself interacting with the crowd throughout with his trademark cowboy hat firmly in place. As for UK dates, though, it might be best for fans not to hold their breath; Chesney, like so many of his country peers, seldom tours Britain, and frankly doesn’t need to; he’s a bona fide stadium filler back home.

Loved Thomas Rhett Old Dominion and of course Kenny Chesney at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa! Now the bad news... I pre-bought, pre-sale, tickets 6 months ago for $350 X 2 and was bummed to find out the people around us paid half that closer to the show date. Some of them the day of from ticket master. I bought mine through “Live Nation” and they were supposed to be “VIP” but there was nothing “VIP” about the price of the tickets and their location. No special entrance, food or drink included! Only a poster a swag bag a lanyard and a CD. Seats were said to be row M right off the stage but they were in first section far off the stage far side with obstruction from the curtains blocking the other band members. For $700 I feel the seats were NOT worth the price! Next time Raymond James has a concert make certain you know how terrible the seats are there!

Kenny is such a great performer! I saw him at the beginning of last summer when he came with Eli young band, Kacey Musgraves, and Eric church. Being in an outdoor stadium, it provided an amazing sound experience and a wonderful view. He did an amazing job at making a setlist including songs from all of his albums, something that's hard to do with multiple albums like he does! It was upbeat and energetic the entire time. Towards the end of the show he brought out Kacey Musgraves to sing "you and tequila" and also brought out one of our Seahawks players!

Kenny Chesney is an all around american country singer. His songs are exactly what you would expect. What I like the most about him is that his songs are genuine, but still catchy... no shallow songs here! You can always count on him for a solid all American album!

Kasey Musgraves was good. The Eli Young Band was ok... music was too loud and you could barely hear them singing. Eric Church was amazing. First time seeing him and really didnt know what to expect. He put on a great show. Kenny was great again! He sang for over 2 hours! Was disappointed with the encore... he only sang one song, was hoping for a few more as it was one of his final shows before he took another year off. But all in all it was a great show from start to finsh! He played his great repatoir of music that goes from boot kickin to beach sounds to smooth times. His is the consummate performer and obviously likes to please a crowd. Speaking of that i was on the floor about 20 rows back and I cannot remember sitting down for more than a few moments. I would say, everyone appreciated Kenny's performance.

My first stadium concert, easy to get in and out of Met Life Stadium. Great atmosphere, loved seeing the Chesney life-sized poster, the Corona tour bus where you could take pictures and the radio stations represented there.

Sam Hunt and Miranda Lambert were great. It was good to take a break in between all the concerts to stretch and get something to eat.

The background music playing prior to Kenny's performance was wild, crazy and uplifting - really got us psyched up.

Kenny's concert at Met Life on 8/20 was the best concert I have ever been to. It was great singing to all his songs, taking in the more than 50,000 people enjoying his music and watching the videos and Kenny bounce around the stage. I did not want it to end. He was the best. I can't wait until his next stadium concert.

I am sure it was a great show. Unfortunately, I was not able to go because the transmission in my truck broke the day before the show and was not able to find a ride. I am so disappointed and upset for not being able to go. I dont care about loosing the money I paid for the tickets as much as not being able to go. Talk about a heart break when I knew for sure I was not gonna be able to make it. I sure hope he will put on another show near me sometime in the near future, because I will sure pay again to hopefully get to make it. I am sorry I missed your show Kenny.

What could I possibly write, but that Kenny put on another wonderful show. Perfect weather, under a starry sky, at Merriweather Post Pavilion, last night. There is a reason that Kenny has won eight Entertainer Of The Year Awards, he is simply a perfectionist and puts on THE best show I see all summer long. He is here and there and everywhere, working the stage and catwalk unlike anyone else in country music. His songs are fun to sing-a-long with a few thousand No Shoes Nation fans. Kenny ALWAYS delivers a great show!

The post How to Get Tickets to Kenny Chesney ’s 2023 Tour appeared first on Consequence .

Kenny Chesney is ready to return to the road for his “I Go Back 2023” tour, and No Shoes Nation will need to claim their tickets soon to join on the country superstar’s 21-date trip down memory lane.

In a statement, Chesney shared his reason for choosing his beloved 2004 single as the tour’s nostalgia-laden namesake, saying “That song is about holding all those things that shaped you very close, recognizing how special they are – and keeping them alive any way you can. So, I decided that rather than just go repeat what we did, I wanted to take this band and these songs to a lot of the cities we played on our way up! Let’s call the tour ‘I Go Back’ – and do just that.”

“I remember coming up, the craziness of so many of those dates,” he continued. “Markets where people were using chain-cutters to get onto the lawn because we were so sold out in the Carolinas… and that’s a kind of energy that should never be left behind. For all those fans – based on how good last year felt – I want to bring what was coming off that stage to you, where you are, so we can all have that kind of experience together!”

kenny chesney tour dates 2023

When your career highlights include 32 No. 1 country singles, nearly 18 million concert tickets sold since 2002 and one of the most devout fan bases in any genre of music, you might feel like relaxing.

But despite his persona as a chill, hammock-hanging dude with a hat brim shading his eyes, Kenny Chesney remains admirably indefatigable.

On March 22, he releases “ Born ,” his 20th studio album filled with crowd-pleasing anthems (“One More Sunset,” “Guilty Pleasure”) as well as more introspective fare (“Wherever You Are Tonight”).

A few days later, Chesney turns 56 and the chronic workaholic figures he’ll spend the day in tour rehearsals, even though he could give himself the day off, being the boss and all.

This year’s touring romp, dubbed Sun Goes Down, kicks off April 20 in Tampa, Florida, and will wind through stadiums until a three-night stand at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts starts Aug. 25. Joining Chesney is another handpicked lineup: Established hitmakers Zac Brown Band and Uncle Kracker and CMA new artist and song of the year nominee Megan Moroney .

Chesney has much to discuss, so from his home in Tennessee he waxed philosophical about guilty pleasures, the benefit of ice tubs and how Taylor Swift has brought the world together.

Question: This is your 20th studio album and 30th anniversary since your debut. Does it feel like three decades have passed?

Kenny Chesney: No, it doesn’t. But in some ways, maybe (laughs). I truly love creating and see that as one of the biggest gifts in my life. The first two records I made with (producer) Barry Beckett and the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section and then I’ve been with (producer) Buddy Cannon ever since. I’ve been so blessed to have these people around me. I feel like because of that I wake up every day with a sense of purpose .

That is quite a guitar solo on the title track. Are you itching to play that song live?

At some point this summer it will make its way onto the stage. It was one of the first songs I cut for the project and I felt it was a perfect way to kick off record. It defines how we live our lives – the details and all the joy. It defines the euphoria of being alive and not making it harder than it has to be.

Let’s talk about “Guilty Pleasure.” Aside from it being a lighthearted validation of no-strings sex, it also has a breezy Jimmy Buffett feel to it. As a longtime admirer, do you feel like you’ll continue to preach the aesthetic that he created? (Post-interview, Chesney was announced as one of the artists in the lineup for the April 11 Keep the Party Going: A Tribute to Jimmy Buffett concert at the Hollywood Bowl.)

I just try to go up there and do what we do and hope people come to our shows and have a great time. This song will help us continue that legacy. I felt like “Guilty” dives into the heart of human behavior. It was the last song I wrote for the record and it was a hard one to write. I felt like the song took the pressure off whatever the relationship is. It gives both people permission to just enjoy it. It’s honest and reckless in the best way and we had to write it in a way that didn’t make either person feel dirty.

On the other end of the emotional spectrum, does “Wherever You Are Tonight,” about loss and death, have a personal connection for you?

I’ve had a lot of friends pass. Some famous, some not. Some heroes, some not. This was a hard one. My friend Mike Reid wrote this song and I was struggling. I knew I wanted to record it, but it’s a topic that makes people uncomfortable. I would like to think there is something much bigger than all of us that we don’t understand. Those that have passed on are up there guiding us and looking after us and I don’t believe they’re gone. They linger in our lives and that’s what made the song. I engulfed myself in the song. The people I lost were so present in my psyche and my heart. They’re gone, but they’re not out of sight and I tried to channel that.

Taylor Swift gave you a huge shout-out in her Time Person of the Year profile . Were you surprised to find out how much that note and check you sent when she was starting out meant to her career pursuit at the time?

Yeah, I was. I texted her and told her thank you for the love, and I was stunned she remembered it. To see what she did with that and the person she is now and the artist she is now and the creator that she is now – it is unbelievable what she has become . I love Taylor. She has such a creative soul and that’s where all of this started. Everything you see, the stadium shows and big performances, are great. But she is still, I believe, at heart, a songwriter. That is something no one can deny. I saw that early, but I didn’t know it would turn into this. When she couldn’t do our tour (Chesney’s 2007 tour was sponsored by a beer company so the then-17 Swift couldn't join) and then she surprised me at a couple of shows and came onstage to sing with me, I saw that look in her eyes that you can’t teach. I told my promoter, “This child is going to be something one day.” But who can look into a crystal ball and know she would help bring the world together?

You have another stadium tour coming up. What is your preparation like?

I’m training really hard right now. I’m particular about what I eat. I’m on a treadmill. I’m morphing into this “other guy” and I love it. To do what I do and be good at it you have to have a little bit of ego. But if I had to carry that in my everyday life it wouldn’t be functional. I’m trying to get my brain and body and soul in a place where I can give everybody all of me.

So how exhausted are you by the end of the night?

I’m pretty depleted after each show . I really try to take care of myself now. I have a friend, (big wave surfer) Laird Hamilton , and he taught me a lot about my body as far as breathing habits. I’m mainly doing ice tubs. I beat my legs up so much on stage, so sometimes after shows I’ll sit in ice and let the band and crew do whatever they do (laughs). My life has really changed.

Kenny Chesney

On Kenny Chesney ‘s new studio album Born , out today (March 22) via Blue Chair Records/Warner Music Nashville, he continues his reputation for recording songs that both elevate the spirit and cut to the bone.

Landing nearly four years after his 2020 album Here and Now , Chesney’s latest revels in both taking risks and taking in every moment life gives you. Chesney included more songs than ever on his new project, clocking in at 15 tracks, each one mining universal truths and detailing yearnings for love, freedom and connection.

He works once again with his longtime producer Buddy Cannon, crafting an album that is a patchwork of songs, musical commemorations of a myriad of life moments, drawing on spontaneous road trips and dive-bars filled with the scent of ocean breezes, as well as high-octane instances of embracing wide-open independence, and tempered by more contemplative spaces accepting how time refines lives, both healing hurts and spilling heartbreaks, etching memories firmly into consciousness. Some songs, such as “Take Her Home,” touch on lasting love, while “Guilty Pleasure” centers on passion in the moment. A feeling of gratitude for the full spectrum of life courses through the album.

“There was no theme we’re singing about that holds it together,” the eight-time entertainer of the year winner said in a statement regarding the album. “But if you listen to all 15 songs, you’ll get the high energy fun, chasing adventures, don’t let people get you down piece  and  you’ll get the more reflective thinking about someone who’s died, the person you know you shouldn’t call emotions that have always been in the music, too.”

Perhaps a line in one of the album’s tracks, “Few Good Stories,” sums it up best: “When it’s all said and done, I’ll know I lived it well If I ain’t got nothing but a few good stories to tell.”

Here’s a look at Billboard ‘s ranking of the album’s 15 tracks:

"Just to Say We Did"

Another rock guitar-fueled party anthem, this track details spontaneous road trips from Knoxville to Myrtle Beach in an RV with no air conditioning, jumping off cliffs and losing track of time in a neon Vegas night—all the while, Chesney maintains that oftentimes the improvised risks are worth the memories made.

A sweet, steady groove propels this easy-come, easy-go tale as he revels in a car ride with his love. The car’s top is down, the radio has just the right song on and he knows he’d do anything for her.

"Long Gone"

“What good are wheels if they ain’t rolling,” Chesney sings above crashing drums and careening guitar lines, on this track written by Tony Martin and Wendell Mobley. A sure-fire live performance favorite, this song pulses with power, and serves as a tribute to all the pleasure seekers undeterred from chasing a good-time feeling to all corners of the globe.

"One More Sunset"

Brett James, Tim James and Danny Myrick wrote this rock-tinged track perfectly crafted for communal concert singalongs. Chesney hits a comfortable groove here, as he sings of living on “good vibe standard time,” nodding to Shakespeare, stunning sunsets and good drinks.

"Come Here, Go Away"

A slice of B-3 organ piles atop a latticework of drums, bass and guitar on this meditation of a heart-breaking push-and-pull cycle of an on-again, off-again relationship. “When we say it’s over and then we say why don’t you come on over/ We get lost and drink too much/ Then we morning after think too much,” Chesney sings, his voice picking up the full brunt of angst, passion and frustration. Chesney wrote this track with Josh Osborne, Shane McAnally and Greylan James.

A perfect mesh of churning percussion, immense singalong chorus, and stadium-ready, blistering rock riffs draw listeners deeper into the soul-searching, human-connecting cavities of each lyric on this high-octane title track and album opener. “We all want to know what we are made for,” he sings, a nod to how the humanity of seeking purpose in each day can be sought with joy.

"Take Her Home"

Chesney’s current top 20 Billboard Country Airplay hit was written by HARDY, Zach Abend and Hunter Phelps, with HARDY also offering background vocals on the track. The first verse seemingly paints the scene of the beginning sparks of a fleeting romance, but by the chorus and second verse it’s clear that the chance meeting turned into more, with a story arc that gets a slight twist at the end, when it’s not only his lover he’s taking home, but the couple’s newborn child.

"Thinkin' Bout"

Seemingly the continuation of the album’s earlier ruminations on those hot-and-cold relationships, here he begins courting thoughts of cutting the relationship off for good, knowing the back-and-forth ultimately isn’t the best for either of them. Tucker Beathard and Kyle Fishman wrote the song, while Laci Kaye Booth offers smooth, silky background vocals.

"Few Good Stories"

Written by Ben Hayslip, Rhett Akins and Chris Stevens, this track blends guitars, Wurlitzer and bass for a feel-good conglomeration that fetes good whiskey and cigars, old guitars and nights spent spinning a lover around the dancefloor to classic Motown tunes. “If I ain’t done it all, just means I ain’t done it yet,” he sings. Like many songs on this album, he maintains that his mission is creating memories that he can look back on fondly.

"Blame It On the Salt"

This light-hearted, slightly tropical groove of a song centers on free-spirited night of drinking and dancing, writing their names on money and taping it to the walls, all with an open-minded nod to seeing where the night could lead. “If you get to catchin’ feelings baby it ain’t your fault/ Blame it on the salt,” he sings on this plucky, laid-back song. ERNEST offers up background vocals on this track, and is a co-writer alongside Matt Dragstrem and Ryan Vojtesak.

"Guilty Pleasure"

Bolstered by steel guitar and tamborines, this jangly, upbeat number finds him taking pleasure in being someone else’s guilty pleasure–someone’s first call when they need a distraction. “You only want me when you’re drinking/ And you’ve got a mistake you want to make again,” he sings, his delivery sounding both flirtatious and unbothered by the romance’s uncommitted nature.

"This Too Shall Pass"

Written by Brent Cobb, Charlie Worsham and Jaren Johnston, this track features a loping rhythm and relatable storyline of finding refuge among strangers in a bar from “walkin’ through the rain of life’s big storm,” where sometimes love is “all oyster, no pearl.” Some fine-grain, poetic storytelling and Chesney’s everyman style of singing always translates these kinds of stories so well.

"One Lonely Island"

Layers of electric and acoustic guitars and synths heighten the sense of anticipation here, as he sings of a potential love story still in its early days–or as he sings, “This might be nothing or this might be serious.” This track at once encapsulates the loneliness, hopefulness and hunger of two souls ready to move past old hurts. Chesney wrote this track with Josh Osborne, Ross Copperman and David Lee Murphy.

"The Way I Love You Now"

One of the most heartfelt, stunning ballads on this album is this vulnerable, soul-searching track of forgiveness and acceptance, which Chesney wrote with Mike Reid. He’s long ago relinquished the heartbreak and the hurt has dulled into a love that accepts the relationship as it is.

“The way I love you now Is different than it was/ It’s in my brokenness It’s what the healing does,” he sings here.

"Wherever You Are Tonight"

Over the course of his past few albums, Chesney has recorded some sterling ballads and mid-tempos dedicated to the memory of loved ones that have passed on, such as “Knowing You.”

“Faith is left to heal what tears can’t touch/ You’re not gone, just out of sight,” he sings on this gorgeous piano ballad, written by Mike Reid and Gary Burr. As always, Chesney’s top-shelf skills as a vocal interpreter infuse this track with further warmth, wistfulness and hope.

“I live in gratitude every day to have had the career and the songs that I’ve been able to write and get my hands on,” Chesney told Audacy’s Katie Neal before reflecting on when he first started in music. “I think about how that kid was so curious and scared, but so determined and wanted this so bad.”

He continued, “I was in college playing a Mexican restaurant and I was carrying my own sound system… I would get free enchiladas and all the beer I wanted and in college, that’s a pretty big deal… To think of where we are now — it’s basically the same person doing the same thing — I’ve just a got a lot more stuff around me and a lot more people around me. The journey has been a beautiful one.”

Inspired by the journey he’s been blessed by and the courage he’s had to chase his dream, Chesney is using his new album to encourage others to get out there and see what they can accomplish.

“There’s several songs on this record that go straight to the heart of living your life to the fullest and just getting off the couch of your life,” he said of the messages throughout the project. “I’m proud of where we are, I think it’s a good reflection of where I am at this part of my life. I think that I was able to make a record that really defines our live element but gives people a glimpse of the person — that’s hard to do both — and I think that we were able to do that with this Born album.”

Live shows were definitely something Chensey took into consideration while crafting the new album, and while he shares he’s excited to play a couple of new tracks on the road this summer with his Sun Goes Down  stadium tour, he plans on keeping it mostly to the hits.

“New music is great, especially for us, who have been doing this for a minute because it adds new energy,” Chesney said before detailing what he has in mind for his 2024 setlist. “We’re going to do a couple songs off the record that are pretty rockin’ — we’re going to find out place for those — but for the most part, we’re going to dive into our past. We’re going to do some we haven’t done in a while, but it’s going to be loud, it’s going to be fun, it’s going to be full of connection and love, which is what I love about what we do.“

Anyone who has been to a Kenny Chesney show for any amount of time knows the connection the 55-year-old is referring to as he is widely known for having one of the most electric and tight-knit connections to his fans who he calls, No Shoes Nation .

“I am so in tune with the people that come see us play,” Chesney said. “I have touched so many hands and looked at so many faces and we have just this soulful connection. I know it’s a lot of people, and there’s no way to be kin to all those people, but it feels like a kinship.”

Hear more about that connection, what else Chesney has planned for tour and all about the new album by checking out Kenny Chesney’s full conversation with Audacy’s Katie Neal above.

But if you listen to all 15 songs, you’ll get the high energy fun, chasing adventures, don’t let people get you down piece  and  you’ll get the more reflective thinking about someone who’s died, the person you know you shouldn’t call emotions that have always been in the music, too.”

Dolly Parton, Garth Brooks: Country music’s Top 10 richest singers

  • Published: Mar. 25, 2024, 7:46 a.m.

Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks are country music royalty.

There’s no denying that, but there’s also no denying that they are not resting on their laurels.

Parton, 78, and Brooks, 62, have been plenty busy of late.

Parton released her “Rockstar” album in November, and has also recently released a cookbook and even a cast iron collection through Lodge. Brooks, meanwhile, recently opened his Friends in Low Places Bar and Honky Tonk, and also has a reality show on Amazon based around that.

The two are still going strong and building.

So, it should be no surprise that the two are among the richest performers in the country music world. But where do they rank?

Well, LEDGERNOTE keeps an updated ranking of the top 10 richest country music singers, and the following is a look at that list heading into 2024.

Check it out below:

Carrie Underwood

10. Carrie Underwood

Buzz: Football fans can close their eyes and hear Underwood signing the opener for “Sunday Night Football,” but she has had a ton of success outside of that song. Eight Grammy awards. 70 million albums sold. A whole lot of cash money.

Net Worth: $140 million

Alan Jackson

9. Alan Jackson

Buzz: Want some good, old-school country? Jackson is your man. He has slowed down some because of health issues, but the 65-year-old has plenty of cash to show for his work.

Net Worth: $160 million

8. Luke Bryan

Buzz: As LEDGERNOTE points out, Bryan has had gigs outside of singing, such as hosting “American Idol.” Pair that with more than 80 million albums sold, and it’s no shock to see him in the top 10.

Net Worth: $165 million

Buzz: Hard to believe it, but LEDGERNOTE points out that Chesney has dropped a whopping 20 studio albums. They’ve done well, too. Just check the bank account.

Net Worth: $180 million

Tim McGraw, Faith Hill

FILE - In this Sunday, April 2, 2017, file photo, Tim McGraw, left, and Faith Hill arrive at the 52nd annual Academy of Country Music Awards at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The government's small business lending program has benefited millions of companies, with the goal of minimizing the number of layoffs Americans have suffered in the face of the coronavirus pandemic. Yet the recipients include many you probably wouldn't have expected. A Nashville, Tenn., company called “Road Dog Touring, Inc.” was approved for a small business loan of $2 million to $5 million. The company owns the official website for country singer Tim McGraw, timmccgraw.com, and a joint official site with his wife, Faith Hill, timandfaith.com. 6 (tie). Faith Hill

Buzz: LEDGERNOTE did something interesting here, combining Hill with her husband, Tim McGraw, to come up with the number. She has certainly earned her fair share of dough, starting out in her career at 16.

Net Worth: $200 million

6 (tie). TIm McGraw

Buzz: Again, this is combined with his wife, Faith Hill. That said, McGraw has had his share of hits, and fared well in some acting gigs, too. So, no surprise to see him or Hill or, in this case, both on the list.

Buzz: Strait was selling albums back when selling albums was big-time business, obviously. Thirteen multi-platinum records, 33 platinum, 38 gold. Whole lot of cold hard cash.

Superfan: Shania Twain

“Superfan: Shania Twain” – Five of Shania Twain’s most devoted supporters battle it out to be crowned her biggest fan on a new episode of the unscripted musical series SUPERFAN, Wednesday, Aug. 16 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the special airs)*. Hosted by Nate Burleson (CBS MORNINGS) and Keltie Knight. Pictured: Shania Twain Photo: Sonja Flemming/CBS ©2022 CBS Broadcasting, Inc. All Rights Reserved. CBS

3. Shania Twain

Buzz: Twain might surprise some folks, but she has been doing it since the 90s in a big way. LEDGERNOTE points out too that, aside from her musical success, she has had a gig as a judge on “American Idol,” had successful endorsements, perfume and even a book that has done well.

Net Worth: $410 million

Garth Brooks

2. Garth Brooks

Buzz: This was the big question heading into the rankings. How would Brooks fare? Well, LEDGERNOTE said his value improved by $30 million. The site says he is the best-selling solo artist in the United States with 148 million albums sold. He had an Amazon Special late last year playing from that new bar in Tennessee. He has a new album, “Time Traveler” out. He has a new deal with TuneIn Radio to carry “The Garth Channel.” He just wrapped up a sold out in Las Vegas and has 18 more dates set for Caesars Palace in 2024. That probably answers the question heading into this year’s list.

Net Worth: $430 million

Dolly Parton

1. Dolly Parton

Buzz: Did you see Dolly rock the Dallas Cowboys-Washington Commanders halftime show back on Thanksgiving? The woman is still a force at 77-years-old and, aside from music, she has had a whole slew of business ventures that have paid her well.

Net Worth: $675 million

Kenny Chesney : The Born Interview

There was something different this time. There was such an sense of gratitude this time, on both ends. Kenny called. Listen to my conversation with Kenny Chesney on Born, Gillette Stadium and New England fans, here. Since we started playing his music in 1995, starting with his first hit "Fall in Love,"  I've had the incredible opportunity to speak with Mr. Chesney on countless occasions. Trust me, I realize how lucky I am. But, this conversation with Kenny Chesney hit a little differently. This time, he just seemed overwhelmed with appreciation. He's built this unbelievable fan base in New England and genuinely values our passion for his music and shows. Kenny builds it, we come...and in very large numbers.

The man behind 10 #1 hits was excited to talk about his kids; he's now in the 2 under 2 club. He's been releasing singles, as of late and no album for them, as the kids have kept him busy. But he did share that he'd like to focus on an album when the touring slows down.  Listen as we talk about the tour, which has no Boston dates as of yet. We talk about the new song "Outskirts," the babies, the snow in Nashville and play a round of "Good Sam Hunting" - so we can get to know the platinum-selling artist better. First refuelling for Russia’s Akademik Lomonosov floating NPP

!{Model.Description}

kenny chesney tour dates 2023

The FNPP includes two KLT-40S reactor units. In such reactors, nuclear fuel is not replaced in the same way as in standard NPPs – partial replacement of fuel once every 12-18 months. Instead, once every few years the entire reactor core is replaced with and a full load of fresh fuel.

The KLT-40S reactor cores have a number of advantages compared with standard NPPs. For the first time, a cassette core was used, which made it possible to increase the fuel cycle to 3-3.5 years before refuelling, and also reduce by one and a half times the fuel component in the cost of the electricity produced. The operating experience of the FNPP provided the basis for the design of the new series of nuclear icebreaker reactors (series 22220). Currently, three such icebreakers have been launched.

The Akademik Lomonosov was connected to the power grid in December 2019, and put into commercial operation in May 2020.

Electricity generation from the FNPP at the end of 2023 amounted to 194 GWh. The population of Pevek is just over 4,000 people. However, the plant can potentially provide electricity to a city with a population of up to 100,000. The FNPP solved two problems. Firstly, it replaced the retiring capacities of the Bilibino Nuclear Power Plant, which has been operating since 1974, as well as the Chaunskaya Thermal Power Plant, which is more than 70 years old. It also supplies power to the main mining enterprises located in western Chukotka. In September, a 490 km 110 kilovolt power transmission line was put into operation connecting Pevek and Bilibino.
