Safari experience a must

Zootastic park is a great place to visit (not far from Charlotte NC) but is only worth it if you pay for the either the Safari experience or the cub cadet otherwise it's just a petting zoo. The Safari experience was excellent and we got to spend (as a family) time with a baby kangaroo, two Baby Lammas, two baby wolves and a baby tiger. Staff are very friendly and helpful and made the day even better.

We loved it here! Loved seeing all the amazing animals up close. We had so much fun feeding and petting the animals. Next time I'm in the area will visit again.

We traveled from Cary, NC to visit Zootastic Park as our son bought a package on the web site. It was a family outing with the family and a great friend who was able to attend and take great pictures, thanks GRAY! This was a family visit as my wife and I have been married for 42 years with the kids 41,36 and 28 respectfully. Yes, you are never too old to get out and try the different adventures. Don't be the one that says, I wish I would have done this. Don't get me wrong, as this is not the Balboa Park of San Diego, Wild Animal Park of Escondido, St. Louis Zoo or other parks like Bush Gardens. This a non profit park that is relatively new and Scott is doing a great job. As for our tour, Nicki was great as the guide and very informative on our tour. Close up with the animals and great pictures. The highlight, was the one on one hands on encounter for the whole family with the baby lion and tiger. Got to bottle feed them and was able to gather memorable moments. We recommend a visit and talk to Scott for cost savings on what your budget allows. Thanks, The G Family

The owner claims this is the most educational zoo in the US. I'm not sure about that, but it is very good. Highlights were getting to feed the tigers and the other animals. Be sure to take a guided tour. They keep the groups small, and you get better interaction with the animals that way. This is fun for all ages. You can pay extra for a closer encounter with the animals (30 min. with some of the babies and smaller animals), which I would definitely do if I were to return. Plan on 2 hours.

I took my daughter to Zootastic for an encounter with several baby animals. We had so much fun playing with a baby kangaroo, baby tiger cub, baby wolf cubs, and a baby lemur. I intend to go back and do it again. The zoo itself has a surprisingly large number of animals, and I was fascinated talking to the owner and listening to his passion for animals.

We bought the safari experience for my son's birthday. It was unique and fun. I didn't know baby kangaroos were so soft. We enjoyed the guided tour around the rest of the property. We will definitely plan to go back again.

While nature is indeed the best habitat for wild animals of all types, in today’s world that is rarely the case. While some zoos, like the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro, do an amazing job at presenting animals in their natural habitat, giving both the animals and visitors the best experience possible, other wild and exotic animals are rarely so lucky. When animals come from various backgrounds including mistreatment, injury, or otherwise unwanted by owners, Aloha Safari Zoo in North Carolina helps give them their best possible chance at rehabilitation and a happy life. As a bonus, it’s also open for visitors.

What are the best North Carolina zoos?

If you’ve ever been to the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro, you know how impressive it is. This 500-acre zoo is also the largest natural habitat zoo in the world, so if you haven’t yet been, you need to make plans to go! Due to natural habitats, there are no cages and the animals can roam free. On the opposite side of the size spectrum, Livermon Park and Cashie River Wetlands Walk of Windsor has a mini zoo to explore. Best of all, it’s free to visit! Come and see the buffaloes, llamas, peacocks, longhorn sheep, and more at this small zoo.

Are there any animal encounters in North Carolina?

There are plenty of places that have animal encounter experiences in the Tarheel State. At A Zoo Life in Pinetops, visitors can visit and learn about the zoo’s exotic species on a guided tour and, along the way, you are allowed into the habitats of select animals for an encounter. At Zootastic in Troutman, not only can you have a drive-thru safari experience but also an encounter with a two-toed sloth and can even feed a kangaroo. What a memorable experience for the whole family!

What is the most unique park in North Carolina?

For one park unlike any other, head to Roanoke Island Festival Park which has a living history exhibit everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime. Starting with a replica of the Elizabeth II, a 16th-century ship Sir Walter Raleigh sailed on, you’ll learn the ship’s history from costumed actors who really make the history come to life. There’s also the Settlement Site where you’ll get to witness live demonstrations and an American Indian village where you can see how the Algonquin Indians lived.
