Is Regency RV still in business?
Is Regency RV still in business? This is a question that a lot of RVers may be asking themselves these days. Regency RV was a popular RV dealer located in the Midwest, but it abruptly closed its doors in early 2018, leaving customers and employees in the lurch.
At the time of its closure, Regency RV was the largest RV dealer in the country, boasting locations in six states. The company’s closure left a lot of people scrambling, as Regency RV had a reputation for selling high-quality RVs at competitive prices.
So, what happened? Why did Regency RV close its doors? Unfortunately, the company has refused to comment on the matter, so the answers to those questions remain a mystery.
What we do know is that Regency RV’s closure has left a lot of people out in the cold, both customers who lost their money and employees who lost their jobs. The company’s closure has also dealt a blow to the RV industry as a whole, as Regency RV was a major player in the market.
With all of that in mind, the question of whether or not Regency RV is still in business is an important one. Unfortunately, at this point, there’s no easy answer. The company has shut its doors and is not responding to any inquiries, so it’s unclear whether it will ever reopen.
If you’re looking for an RV, your best bet is to try other dealers in your area. Keep an eye on the news, though, as it’s possible that we may learn more about Regency RV’s closure in the future.

RV Tour of the Class B+ Regency RV Ultra Brougham
- by Marc Bennett
- Updated: January 10, 2023
This post may contain affiliate links .
Luxury small motorhome manufacturer Regency RV is one of the newest motorhome manufacturers on the market. They exclusively build luxury Class B Vans, and Class B+ wide body vans. This was the first time we have had a chance to see one, at the 2020 Florida RV Supershow. Take a look at the style and craftsmanship in this RV video tour. And read on, to learn what we liked most, and what we didn’t.
About Regency RV
Regency RV has an interesting history. They have produced RVs based on truck or van chassis in low numbers, on and off for many years. But most of their company and owner’s history over the last 50 years revolves around restoring classic cars. According to their website, they are now looking to produce a couple hundred RVs per year. Their new Ultra Brougham models have only been in production since 2018. Manufacturing and headquarters for Regency RV are in Fort Worth Texas.
A Look Inside the Ultra Brougham 25IB
At first glance, it was pretty apparent to me which manufacturer they are modeling after. Their Ultra Brougham body lines, even their paint graphics, and interior styling are very similar to Leisure Travel Vans from Canada. Regency RV is clearly targeting high end Class B+ buyers.
Fit and finish, both interior and exterior, seems very nice. Which would be expected from a company whose history is in classic car restorations. We’ll speak more to the interior and exterior layout and design touches a bit further down.
What Floor Plans Are Available?
Let’s first talk about the available floor plans, and which one we chose to have a closer look at.
Regency RV offers three floor plans in their Ultra Brougham model, all of which are built on the Mercedes Chassis. Floor plan options include a murphy bed, twin bed, or island bed. We were most interested in their island bed model. We place a high value on having a nice bed, and prefer to sleep together rather than apart in twin bed units.
Importance of Cargo Carry Capacity
The murphy bed unit required having a slide out, which would have added even more weight to a coach that is already a bit short on cargo carry capacity. The 25IB (Island Bed) model we toured had about 1,000 pounds of cargo capacity. Class B+ coaches like this are not known for having a lot of capacity. Some have as much as 1,600 pounds, others have less than 700 pounds.
Percentage wise, and in practical use, that is a really big difference. For example, consider that two passengers probably weigh a combined total of 340 pounds, and 20 gallons of water weighs over 160 pounds. If you only had 700 pounds to start with, now you have less than 200 pounds left for all your clothes, food, linens, cookware and personal items. In other words, you will need to pack very light, and don’t plan on putting heavy e-bikes on a bike rack on the hitch. Definitely would not work well for authors like us who often carry books.
By comparison, if you had the same size coach with twice the cargo capacity at 1,400 pounds, you could comfortably make use of all the available storage cabinets, and even a couple bottles of wine to enjoy during sunset with friends.
OK, back to how the layout looks and feels, and what we think of it.
The Regency RV Ultra Brougham Exterior
First, when walking up to a Regency RV Ultra Brougham, the exterior paint is noticeably high quality. These are very attractive RVs with beautiful paint, polished aluminum, and stainless steel accents. Even the air conditioning units are painted to match.
I also really liked that Regency RV left significant ground clearance behind the rear axles below the body. This is very important in Class B+ RVs like this as most people use them as their primary driver when traveling, since they rarely tow a car. That means they will regularly need to find places to park the RV, and it is too long for a regular car space. So, drivers often need to back the tail of the RV over open areas to fit in a space. Or find a parking lot where two parking spaces can be used.
Regency RV Ultra Broughams have nice basement storage bays all along both sides of the coach. Some models, including the Island bed model we toured, have a pass through storage area, and an optional sliding tray in that bay. The model we toured also had the optional LP powered Onan generator, and two leveling jacks. Diesel generators are available as an option.
The Interior
Cabinet work is very nice, and is available in three colors. The model we toured had dark stained base cabinetry with glossy white door faces. Cabinets had exposed handles rather than hidden latches. Countertops were white Corian.
We thought it was odd that the seats in the living area were light grey, but the driver and passenger seats were black. Normally, we prefer to have the fabrics match, or at least coordinate. Having them match gives a more cohesive feel, especially when the front seats are meant to be able to rotate around and be part of the living space.
Kitchen/Living Area
The circular kitchen sink was nice and deep, counter height was good, and we felt the layout was functional and not cramped. Many of the mechanical controls for the generator, jacks and tank capacities were mounted above the entry step area. This would be a problem for Julie as they were so high above the steps.
We did like that they had a drop down cover for the stairwell similar to the one offered in Leisure Travel Vans.
The living area seats face each other and there is a post hole between them to insert a table. Table top and post are stored under the bed when not in use. This front seating/table area also converts into a sleeping area for one person if you have a guest.
Walking toward the rear of the coach, we really liked the split bathroom layout. Our current RV has a split bath layout and we feel that it works very well for couples. The shower is on the passenger side, and the toilet and sink are on the driver side.
We also really liked that the door for the shower, when fully opened, can latch in place in the hallway. This provides excellent privacy in the rear of the coach. Having a way to provide privacy in the bedroom and changing area means that you don’t always need to put up covers on your front windows. Not just for privacy within the coach. Privacy from outside.
The toilet and sink part of the split bath was good. But we thought the toilet was not placed quite right. It was a little tight against the wall, and was not angled optimally. I felt that if it was angled in a different direction, it would be more comfortable and more usable.
Others might think differently, but pay close attention to details like this when touring any RV. If it bothers you during a quick tour, it will likely drive you crazy in the long term.
Being a Regency RV Ultra Brougham 25IB, this model had an island bed. That means that the majority of the rear of the coach is taken up with a relatively large bed in the center, with walking space on both sides. The twin bed model is virtually identical in the front half of the coach. But instead of one bed in the center, it would have two smaller beds, one on each side in the rear section.
Julie and I really value having a good night sleep on a quality bed. If you have been reading our blog or watching our videos for a while, you probably also know that we love our custom mattresses from Mattress Insider. You can learn more about those in this blog post and video ..
The island bed in this coach seemed pretty comfortable. But it is worth noting that it might not work as well for taller people, as it felt shorter than a normal bed. Also the corners of the foot of the bed are cut off at angles to make more room to walk around the bed.
There is a small step up to a higher floor level on the sides of the bed. Again this wouldn’t be ideal for taller people. I am 5’8” tall and was still able to stand up fully on the elevated area. But I would estimate that I only had two inches to spare. So if you are over 5’10” tall you will probably need to hunch down in the bedroom area.
Also worth noting that when you open the cabinet next to the bed the door hits the window valance and does not open fully.
How much is it?
The salesperson we spoke with mentioned that they were trying to price them $10-$20K less than the Leisure Travel Van (LTV) they are targeting. But the coach we toured had a sticker price of $160K. That is actually MORE than the price I come up with when building a comparable LTV unit online.
Maybe Regency RV is more negotiable on MSRP than LTV?
Our thoughts overall
We felt that the Regency RV Ultra Brougham is a very attractive coach that is doing (or copying) a lot of things right. But, it also falls short in a few areas when compared against the more established brand they are seeking to grab customers from.
Our initial research into customer feedback on them online seems that early on, customer service was lacking. But more recently Regency has taken customer experience more seriously and folks seem to be relatively happy with them.
We enjoyed having a look at Regency RV, and will appeal to the luxury Class B and Class B+ RV shopper. They have potential to make waves and capture market share in this popular category. We feel there are many buyers who will really appreciate the details and hand crafted elements of a small production company like Regency RV.
We would definitely be interested in taking this for a test drive, if the opportunity arises.

Nice review. What was the ceiling fan situation, lithium battery option or ability to upgrade, solar panels, levelling jacks options? How about A/C & furnace noise level and vehicle insulation level.
Sorry we don’t have those answers for you – would require a much more thorough tour than we were able to do in the time we had. Suggest checking the Regency RV website and also joining the owners groups (say on Facebook) to ask specific questions. Owners are a wealth of useful information and know the unit best. Hope that helps!

Regency RVs: 9 Facts Owners & Buyers Should Know
A relatively young RV manufacturer, but no less qualified or luxurious, Regency RVs has been making strides in the industry since its inception in 2014.
From 2015 onward, Regency RV has been trying to make a name for themselves as the next up-and-coming RV brand to watch.
Although they only carry two models at this time, they may expand in the future.
Because they are a smaller and newer manufacturer, Regency RVs have incredibly handcrafted and artisanal quality about them.
However, Regency RVs only make Class B models, so they won’t have those huge Class A or Toy Haulers in stock.
Table of Contents
1. Where Are Regency RVs Made?
Regency RVs was founded in Fort Worth, Texas.
It is currently there in Fort Worth, Texas, where the manufacturer is located.
New acquisitions of the company have brought up discussions on whether or not Regency manufacturing plants might find a new home elsewhere.
However, Emahiser Group has stated that they would like to keep the local plant to remain in Fort Worth for the foreseeable time being.
2. Who Owns the Regency Company?
Wayne Davis was the original founder of Regency RVs after first experiencing a long history in the world of custom classic American cars from the 1970s through the mid-2000s.
The name “Regency” comes from Wayne’s custom car business, Regency and Tuscany Conversions.
In 2014, Regency RVs was born and had, according to Regency’s site, since produced the first Class B+ Luxury Motor Coach “Ultra Brougham” on a Mercedes-Benz Chassis platform.
They also “acquired the National Traveler brand,” which is a “Class B van built on the Ram Promaster chassis platform.”
They are currently owned by Emahiser Group, which bought Regency RVs after Wayne Davis’s retirement in 2020.
Wayne will continue to be an advisor or consultant on the business moving forward but has stated he is ready to be retired.
3. What Types and Sizes of RVs Do Regency Produce?
Regency RVs, at this time, only have two models to show: their “Ultra” and their “National Traveler” RVs.
Both of these models are Class B models and have many different features to explore:
The National Traveler – Regency RV:
Built on a Ram ProMaster chassis and measuring at 20′ 11″ is the National Traveler RV by Regency.
This RV can tow up to 2,150 lbs and has a seating capacity of between 4 and 6 passengers, depending on which floorplan you choose.
It comes with three different floorplans:
The Explore floorplan is the only one that sleeps up to four using what they describe as a 50×65 Euro Bunk, whereas the other two only sleep two guests.
Each model comes with ample seating, storage, and a small kitchenette with an induction cooktop and a microwave. They all also come with a small bathroom.
Furthermore, this model has a moveable 24″ TV that can be shown on the outside of the RV for some lawn chair movie nights or game watching.
It also comes with 14 more inches of headroom for “an expansive interior feel.”
The Ultra – Regency RV:
The Ultra RV by Regency is built on a Mercedes-Benz chassis and is 25′ 1″ in length with a total exterior height of 10′ 6″, including the roof and A/C unit.
With a 24.5-gallon fuel capacity and an unloaded vehicle weight of 9,5000 lbs, this RV is a perfect option for smaller families or couples who like their luxury in compact packages.
This RV has four separate floorplan options with sleeping capacities ranging between two and three passengers.
There are two twin bed options, a murphy bed option and an island bed option.
The Ultra MB or Murphy Bed option comes with a larger bathroom and showering option that is very modern and pristine.
Each floorplan comes with a small kitchenette with a sink, cooktop, and food prep area. It also comes with stainless steel appliances and food storage.
Lounge seating and TV viewing make for a relaxing interior that is sure to please.
4. Does Regency Make a Toy Hauler?
Regency does not make a toy hauler at this time.
As of this moment, the two models – Ultra and National Traveler – are the only models that the company offers.
It is unclear whether Regency will invest in much larger Class A or Toy Hauler models in the future.
5. What Are the Smallest RVs from Regency?
The smaller of the two models is the National Traveler RV (pictured above).
It is five feet shorter in exterior length than the Regency Ultra and has a sleeping capacity of roughly two people, except for their Explore floorplan, which sleeps four.
Its bathroom options are smaller as well but are still spacious enough to be comfortable.
While this may be the smaller option, it comes with very pretty floorplans and interiors that any family would love to invest in!
6. What Are the Biggest RVs from Regency?
The Regency Ultra RV is the larger of the two models that Regency offers, measuring at 25 feet in exterior length – five more feet than the Regency National Traveler.
This model comes with larger sleeping and living quarters as well as a more spacious kitchenette and appliances.
The Murphy Bed model in particular (pictured above) is great both during the day and night, as it offers ample seating and table space before being pulled down into a large bed.
If you would like two twin beds, the Ultra has that floor plan design as well!
Five feet make all the difference when you are trying to “go big” with Regency RVs.
7. How Are Regency RVs Made?
All Regency RVs are built within Fort Worth, Texas, where the company began and has so far remained local with its craftsmanship.
Regency RVs build all their cabinets and drawers made from beech wood and craft them within their manufacturing facilities in Fort Worth, Texas.
Ultra RVs are built upon Mercedez-Benz chassis, while the National Traveler is built on a Ram Pro Master chassis. Once the shell and paint jobs are done, the RVs are sent to electrical, where the wires are run through.
Then the finishing and furnishing are done overtop that.
All RVs go through major checks and tests to make sure that they are ready for sale and then are sent to the dealerships.
8. What Are The Most Popular RVs by Regency?
Because Regency RVs only have two models, both are the more popular models of the company.
However, both have distinct differences and features that make them more popular for some customers than others.
For example, the Ultra model is a little more luxurious and has options to have a larger separate bathroom than the National Traveler. The National Traveler, however, has an option to create a pull-down “Euro Bunk,” which helps sleep more guests in a smaller space.
Depending on your needs or wants, both models or only one might be your preferred choice.
9. Are Regency RVs For All Four Seasons?
As we’ve mentioned in previous articles that discuss all-season RVs, the idea of a four-season RV isn’t the same as a tent.
RVs are basically tiny houses on wheels in many cases and are built to accommodate those who would like to have an extended experience or trip with the comfort of home.
Therefore, they will have great AC and heating systems, interior fireplaces (electric), and a bed with a mattress.
Regency RVs have those systems, and some have an electric fireplace heater to keep you warm, as well as windows that open to let in natural breezes to keep you cool.
All of these features combined can keep you warm during winter or cool during summer. However, most RVs require further insulation or DIY methods to make sure that they can actually keep you as warm or as cool as you need to be.
Just like a four-season tent, you need to be careful how you camp or travel. Even if your RV is warm during winter, it is probably difficult to maneuver on icy or snowy roads, making it not necessarily a four-season camping tool.
Furthermore, any RV in the desert heat in the summertime will suffer from being too hot in the interior, and no amount of AC is going to help that – depending on your AC unit and whether or not it is able to run that hot for that long.
Basically, an RV can be considered four-seasonal because it is a tiny house on wheels, but you should always take extra steps to make sure that you are comfortable and safe.

2014 LTV Unity Murphy Bed
Yes, this has been discussed, https://sprinter-source.com/forum/showthread.php?t=72044&highlight=Regency+ultra . I don't like the cabinetry as well as the smooth clean lines of my unity. I love the curved pieces Leisure uses, it adds a nice dimension and looks more upscale, IMHO. I've owned my Unity coming up on 5 years and I found it interesting that this years Tampa RV show was the first year since the 2014 show that I have seen competition to the Leisure Unity Murphy bed model. Back in 2014 no one else made a Murphy bed model let alone come close to Leisure's quality. This year at the show I saw Tiffin, Regency and Winnebago murphy bed models that were obviously attracting attention from prospective buyers. I was also surprised that the Leisure area wasn't as crowded as in previous years. It looks like the competition is catching up in floor plan space but I still don't see the quality. Everyone needs to evaluate potential RVs that interests them and choose the right one for them. Ultimately, Pursuit of Happiness is what life is all about!

Yes, Regency, Tiffin, Winnie and others have managed to shamelessly copy LTV's MB floor plan including the colorful plan view layout drawings, etc. (pride and business ethics means nothing anymore) Some have even figured out that serious buyers are not interested in swooshes, swirls, twirls and curls paint schemes! One thing they have NOT managed to figure out or copy is.....'quality' construction, both visible and hidden. At the end of the day, that's what REALLY counts. If folks would just take the time (pre-purchase) and LOOK CLOSELY at basic coach construction inc. utilities layout and fit/finish instead of being dazzled by expansive floor plans, slides going everywhere, 3 TV's, etc. they will realize that the immediate painful price to pay is an anemic OCCC. This buyers remorse will be further exacerbated by pre-mature squeeks, rattles, leaks and things coming apart. Yes, 'lipstick on a pig' does apply to RV's! IMNSHO, placing multiple slides or a FWS on a 25' Sprinter chassis MH borders on design malpractice. Now stepping down from my soapbox.
And as a reminder and example, look at this album of our Wonder build. You can see the pride they take in building these. Ours was in the build phase for more than a week (not including painting). I think a Winnie might spend a day or two at most being built. The difference between 600/year and 6000/year... https://photos.app.goo.gl/yZSkgNqsqpAPv39l1
2017 LTV Unity Murphy Bed
I was sent this same catalog, and found it disturbing. If only in the sense that I feel molested, somehow. I like the look of the chairs. I think the laundry chute is silly. I notice the intrusion of the heater or A/C in the ceiling. I prefer the flat cabinet doors overhead, as opposed to the curved Razor Blades on my LTV (did I say that out loud). And I like the legless drop-down table. I wonder if the motors on the recliners are faster?
2016 Unity TB
I can see an imposter "knock off" nestling in among our Leisure Travel Vans at a regional chapter rally in the near future.

Over the eight years, we’ve bought and used a bunch of different Class B and B+ RVs. But this one – marketed as a Class B+ but legally for titling and insurance purposes a Class C motorhome – is the one that pushes more of our most-wanted RV features than any other coach we have had.

We just released a mega-video walkthrough tour on our RV Lifestyle YouTube channel.
The video is almost 32 minutes long but we tried to cover every major feature of our new home on wheels.
In this article – meant to be a companion read – I’ll offer some other details about the things we show and tell in the video, specifically focussing in on 5 things that persuaded us to buy the Leisure Travel Vans Wonder RTB.
For starters, here’s the video.
Now, let’s talk about our most-wanted features that we found in the Leisure Travel Vans Wonder RTB.
Leisure Travel Vans Wonder RTB feature #1: Rear Twin Beds
Rear Twin Bed is what RTB stands for. After years of converting a sofa into a bed and, most recently, setting up and taking down a Murphy bed on our previous LTV Unity FX model, the idea of having two beds in the rear of our unit all made up and ready was something we both really wanted. Those twins, by the way, can easily be pushed together into a Queen, as seen in the video .
Leisure Travel Vans Wonder RTB feature #2 – The “Garage”
We like small motorhomes because they are small. Meaning maneuverable. But all of our previous RVs just did not have enough storage space to bring along all the things we wanted. I'm not talking about a crazy amount of stuff. I'm talking a couple of gravity-style lounge chairs. Maybe some inflatable kayaks. Golf clubs. Cross country skis and poles.
Our new Leisure Travel Vans Wonder RTB model has a huge pass-through storage area in the rear that we call “the garage.” It can hold up to 500 pounds of cargo! I can even get a couple of bicycles in there. (The RTB model is the only LTV Wonder model that has the garage.)
Leisure Travel Vans Wonder RTB feature #3 – The Ford Transit AWD chassis
I wrote a detailed blog post that you can read about why we chose Ford Transit chassis versus the Mercedes Benz Sprinter chassis that our other RVs were built on. You can read that HERE . But let me just say that as an RV journalist, I feel I need to know and experience the Ford Transit as an RV because it is becoming so popular in the industry.
Add to that All Wheel Drive, which assures great traction on snow and ice (we love winter camping) and navigation over backcountry two-tracks (we love boondocking), and you can see why we jumped at the chance to get a Leisure Travel Vans Wonder with AWD.
Leisure Travel Vans Wonder RTB feature #4 – A standup dry shower
Look at the video and you'll see how the self-contained, standup dry shower in our Leisure Travel Vans Wonder can accommodate someone 6'2″. It even has a sunroof to let in lots of natural light. The RV comes with the Truma Aqua Go instant hot water heater which means water is always hot and you don't waste by having to leave it running to warm up.
Turn it on and it's instantly warm, and because the shower is totally separate from the rest of the RV, there's nothing that needs to be toweled off and dried. Except you, of course. The “wet” showers on the Class B RVs we used to have always required more time to dry the bathroom than it took to shower.
Leisure Travel Vans Wonder RTB feature #5 – Separate areas for sleeping, working, eating and lounging
The door on the shower has a double function. It can be used to seal the bedroom area at the rear of the coach from the front galley and lounge area. I'm an early riser. I get up about 5:30 AM. Jennifer (and Bo) like to sleep till around 7.
I can block off the back ( check the video to see how that works) and make my morning coffee, read, work, and putz around the front of the RV without disturbing them.
10 Other things we like about our Leisure Travel Vans Wonder RTB
You'll have to check the video but they include:
- The stowaway picnic table
- The two 100 amp lithium batteries
- The 400 watts of solar panels
- The 2,000-watt inverter
- The touchscreen Firefly control center
- The massive inside storage under the beds
- The large bathroom
- The rooftop Winegard ConnecT2 Wifi Extender and 4G LTE antenna
- Being prewired for satellite TV
- The heater to warm the lithium batteries in cold weather
Finally, I know a lot of you are curious about how much the Leisure Travel Vans Wonder on the Ford Transit chassis costs. It starts at $119,210. Options are extra. If you want to price out one with the options you'd like, go to https://leisurevans.com/build/wonder/

Hi guys – Great video! We are in the beginning stages of shopping for our first RV, and the Wonder RTB really caught our eye, mostly for the floorplan. Loved seeing a little bit of how you’re organizing, and see yourselves using the space. Very helpful for us, as we have no RV experience to go from. Looking forward to watching and reading more!

Where is the part 2 video? This is the best review I ever have seen. I wish to see the cockpit area. The video was A just a “little” long, the completeness was great. What is the msrp and do you have a preference dealership that maintains your unit? Do they extend your discount to your referrals?

Ps: please complete the video. The length will be AOK I have watched over 100 RV videos & am a sound/Video engineer at my church. I hope my review is valued by you. Thanks for for your good work.

10 Different Types of Class B RVs
Posted on June 28, 2022
I love the RV lifestyle and have been traveling on the highway in an RV for twenty years, full-time for the past seven. There is an excitement hard to explain about moving from one RV park to another, bringing new adventures at each stop.
The arriving at your destination and pitching a tent or setting up your tiny trailer days are long gone. Instead, the emphasis on RVs today is on style, comfort, and convenience, especially when traveling in a Class B RV. There are many new types of Class B RVs on the market, each more of a stately home than a camper.
Before we delve into the extensive list of Class B RVs, we should first understand what a Class B RV is and what differentiates it from other RVs.
What Are the Class B RV Types?
There are two Class B RV types, Type B and Type B+, often called “ Camper Vans .” They are easily identifiable since they look similar to ordinary vans. But they only ” look” like a van since they use the standard van model’s chassis. The chassis is modified to become a Class B RV or a more significant Class B+ RV type.
Regardless of a Class B or B+, these RV types have common characteristics like a raised or extendable roof to allow additional ceiling height to stand up. Usually, they will have functional cooking facilities, a queen-sized bed, and a wet bar. They will also typically have a damp bath combo with a toilet, sink, and shower. Now, let’s take a closer look at the difference between a Class B and B+ RV.
Class B RV type
An RV built on a van chassis is designated a Class B RV. There are several different van chassis to build the Class B RV, and the most popular are:
- Mercedes Sprinter
- Ram Promaster
- Ford Transit
The Class B RV can have either a gas or diesel engine, typically 16 feet to 24 feet long. Some models may even be all-wheel or four-wheel drive. A Class B can weigh between 6,000 pounds to 11,000 pounds depending on the model and manufacturer.
The towing capacity is rated at 5,000 pounds when empty, although some older models may only be 3,000 pounds. The smaller motorized RV maximizes the interior space and can sleep two or be configured for additional sleeping accommodation, although with limited storage spaces.
Class B+ RV type
Although the Class B+ looks similar to the Class B RV since they share the same van cassis, they have some differences. A noticeable difference is that a Class B+ RV might have an extension over the cab. Class C RVs typically all have a cabover, a section for additional sleeping accommodation.
The Class B+ can have a cabover that adds a lot functionality to house an entertainment system or is used for extra storage. The Class B+ RV is taller, more comprehensive, and longer than a Class B with an extension over the cab and may have one or more slides.
The typical Class B RV looks like a regular van with an extended, narrow profile. However, the B+ RV is noticeably wider, with a larger body, over-the-cab extension, and less van-shaped. Both types have a familiar van-shaped profile with higher roof lines powered by diesel or gas engines.

Travel Itinerary For One Week in Moscow: The Best of Moscow!
I just got back from one week in Moscow. And, as you might have already guessed, it was a mind-boggling experience. It was not my first trip to the Russian capital. But I hardly ever got enough time to explore this sprawling city. Visiting places for business rarely leaves enough time for sightseeing. I think that if you’ve got one week in Russia, you can also consider splitting your time between its largest cities (i.e. Saint Petersburg ) to get the most out of your trip. Seven days will let you see the majority of the main sights and go beyond just scratching the surface. In this post, I’m going to share with you my idea of the perfect travel itinerary for one week in Moscow.
Moscow is perhaps both the business and cultural hub of Russia. There is a lot more to see here than just the Kremlin and Saint Basil’s Cathedral. Centuries-old churches with onion-shaped domes dotted around the city are in stark contrast with newly completed impressive skyscrapers of Moscow City dominating the skyline. I spent a lot of time thinking about my Moscow itinerary before I left. And this city lived up to all of my expectations.
Travel Itinerary For One Week in Moscow
Day 1 – red square and the kremlin.
Metro Station: Okhotny Ryad on Red Line.
No trip to Moscow would be complete without seeing its main attraction. The Red Square is just a stone’s throw away from several metro stations. It is home to some of the most impressive architectural masterpieces in the city. The first thing you’ll probably notice after entering it and passing vendors selling weird fur hats is the fairytale-like looking Saint Basil’s Cathedral. It was built to commemorate one of the major victories of Ivan the Terrible. I once spent 20 minutes gazing at it, trying to find the perfect angle to snap it. It was easier said than done because of the hordes of locals and tourists.
As you continue strolling around Red Square, there’s no way you can miss Gum. It was widely known as the main department store during the Soviet Era. Now this large (yet historic) shopping mall is filled with expensive boutiques, pricey eateries, etc. During my trip to Moscow, I was on a tight budget. So I only took a retro-style stroll in Gum to get a rare glimpse of a place where Soviet leaders used to grocery shop and buy their stuff. In case you want some modern shopping experience, head to the Okhotny Ryad Shopping Center with stores like New Yorker, Zara, and Adidas.

To continue this Moscow itinerary, next you may want to go inside the Kremlin walls. This is the center of Russian political power and the president’s official residence. If you’re planning to pay Kremlin a visit do your best to visit Ivan the Great Bell Tower as well. Go there as early as possible to avoid crowds and get an incredible bird’s-eye view. There are a couple of museums that are available during designated visiting hours. Make sure to book your ticket online and avoid lines.
Day 2 – Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, the Tretyakov Gallery, and the Arbat Street
Metro Station: Kropotkinskaya on Red Line
As soon as you start creating a Moscow itinerary for your second day, you’ll discover that there are plenty of metro stations that are much closer to certain sites. Depending on your route, take a closer look at the metro map to pick the closest.
The white marble walls of Christ the Saviour Cathedral are awe-inspiring. As you approach this tallest Orthodox Christian church, you may notice the bronze sculptures, magnificent arches, and cupolas that were created to commemorate Russia’s victory against Napoleon.
How to Get a Decent Haircut in a Foreign Country
Unfortunately, the current Cathedral is a replica, since original was blown to bits in 1931 by the Soviet government. The new cathedral basically follows the original design, but they have added some new elements such as marble high reliefs.
Home to some precious collection of artworks, in Tretyakov Gallery you can find more than 150,000 of works spanning centuries of artistic endeavor. Originally a privately owned gallery, it now has become one of the largest museums in Russia. The Gallery is often considered essential to visit. But I have encountered a lot of locals who have never been there.
Famous for its souvenirs, musicians, and theaters, Arbat street is among the few in Moscow that were turned into pedestrian zones. Arbat street is usually very busy with tourists and locals alike. My local friend once called it the oldest street in Moscow dating back to 1493. It is a kilometer long walking street filled with fancy gift shops, small cozy restaurants, lots of cute cafes, and street artists. It is closed to any vehicular traffic, so you can easily stroll it with kids.
Day 3 – Moscow River Boat Ride, Poklonnaya Hill Victory Park, the Moscow City
Metro Station: Kievskaya and Park Pobedy on Dark Blue Line / Vystavochnaya on Light Blue Line
Voyaging along the Moscow River is definitely one of the best ways to catch a glimpse of the city and see the attractions from a bit different perspective. Depending on your Moscow itinerary, travel budget and the time of the year, there are various types of boats available. In the summer there is no shortage of boats, and you’ll be spoiled for choice.
Travel Itinerary for One Week in Beijing
If you find yourself in Moscow during the winter months, I’d recommend going with Radisson boat cruise. These are often more expensive (yet comfy). They offer refreshments like tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and, of course, alcoholic drinks. Prices may vary but mostly depend on your food and drink selection. Find their main pier near the opulent Ukraine hotel . The hotel is one of the “Seven Sisters”, so if you’re into the charm of Stalinist architecture don’t miss a chance to stay there.
The area near Poklonnaya Hill has the closest relation to the country’s recent past. The memorial complex was completed in the mid-1990s to commemorate the Victory and WW2 casualties. Also known as the Great Patriotic War Museum, activities here include indoor attractions while the grounds around host an open-air museum with old tanks and other vehicles used on the battlefield.
How I Planned My Trip to Vietnam
The hallmark of the memorial complex and the first thing you see as you exit metro is the statue of Nike mounted to its column. This is a very impressive Obelisk with a statue of Saint George slaying the dragon at its base.
Maybe not as impressive as Shanghai’s Oriental Pearl Tower , the skyscrapers of the Moscow City (otherwise known as Moscow International Business Center) are so drastically different from dull Soviet architecture. With 239 meters and 60 floors, the Empire Tower is the seventh highest building in the business district.
The observation deck occupies 56 floor from where you have some panoramic views of the city. I loved the view in the direction of Moscow State University and Luzhniki stadium as well to the other side with residential quarters. The entrance fee is pricey, but if you’re want to get a bird’s eye view, the skyscraper is one of the best places for doing just that.
Day 4 – VDNKh, Worker and Collective Farm Woman Monument, The Ostankino TV Tower
Metro Station: VDNKh on Orange Line
VDNKh is one of my favorite attractions in Moscow. The weird abbreviation actually stands for Russian vystavka dostizheniy narodnogo khozyaystva (Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy). With more than 200 buildings and 30 pavilions on the grounds, VDNKh serves as an open-air museum. You can easily spend a full day here since the park occupies a very large area.
Places to Visit in Barcelona That Aren’t Beaches
First, there are pavilions that used to showcase different cultures the USSR was made of. Additionally, there is a number of shopping pavilions, as well as Moskvarium (an Oceanarium) that features a variety of marine species. VDNKh is a popular venue for events and fairs. There is always something going on, so I’d recommend checking their website if you want to see some particular exhibition.
A stone’s throw away from VDNKh there is a very distinctive 25-meters high monument. Originally built in 1937 for the world fair in Paris, the hulking figures of men and women holding a hammer and a sickle represent the Soviet idea of united workers and farmers. It doesn’t take much time to see the monument, but visiting it gives some idea of the Soviet Union’s grandiose aspirations.
I have a thing for tall buildings. So to continue my travel itinerary for one week in Moscow I decided to climb the fourth highest TV tower in the world. This iconic 540m tower is a fixture of the skyline. You can see it virtually from everywhere in Moscow, and this is where you can get the best panoramic views (yep, even better than Empire skyscraper).
Parts of the floor are made of tempered glass, so it can be quite scary to exit the elevator. But trust me, as you start observing buildings and cars below, you won’t want to leave. There is only a limited number of tickets per day, so you may want to book online. Insider tip: the first tour is cheaper, you can save up to $10 if go there early.
Day 5 – A Tour To Moscow Manor Houses
Metro Station: Kolomenskoye, Tsaritsyno on Dark Green Line / Kuskovo on Purple Line
I love visiting the manor houses and palaces in Moscow. These opulent buildings were generally built to house Russian aristocratic families and monarchs. Houses tend to be rather grand affairs with impressive architecture. And, depending on the whims of the owners, some form of a landscaped garden.
During the early part of the 20th century though, many of Russia’s aristocratic families (including the family of the last emperor) ended up being killed or moving abroad . Their manor houses were nationalized. Some time later (after the fall of the USSR) these were open to the public. It means that today a great many of Moscow’s finest manor houses and palaces are open for touring.
20 Travel Tips I’ve Learned From Travelling The World
There are 20 manor houses scattered throughout the city and more than 25 in the area around. But not all of them easily accessible and exploring them often takes a lot of time. I’d recommend focusing on three most popular estates in Moscow that are some 30-minute metro ride away from Kremlin.
Sandwiched between the Moscow River and the Andropov Avenue, Kolomenskoye is a UNESCO site that became a public park in the 1920’s. Once a former royal estate, now it is one of the most tranquil parks in the city with gorgeous views. The Ascension Church, The White Column, and the grounds are a truly grand place to visit.
You could easily spend a full day here, exploring a traditional Russian village (that is, in fact, a market), picnicking by the river, enjoying the Eastern Orthodox church architecture, hiking the grounds as well as and wandering the park and gardens with wildflower meadows, apple orchards, and birch and maple groves. The estate museum showcases Russian nature at its finest year-round.
12 Stunning National Parks and Regional Parks In France
If my travel itinerary for one week in Moscow was a family tree, Tsaritsyno Park would probably be the crazy uncle that no-one talks about. It’s a large park in the south of the city of mind-boggling proportions, unbelievable in so many ways, and yet most travelers have never heard of it.
The palace was supposed to be a summer home for Empress Catherine the Great. But since the construction didn’t meet with her approval the palace was abandoned. Since the early 1990’s the palace, the pond, and the grounds have been undergoing renovations. The entire complex is now looking brighter and more elaborately decorated than at possibly any other time during its history. Like most parks in Moscow, you can visit Tsaritsyno free of charge, but there is a small fee if you want to visit the palace.
How To Stop Procrastinating When Trip Planning
Last, but by no means least on my Moscow itinerary is Kuskovo Park . This is definitely an off-the-beaten-path place. While it is not easily accessible, you will be rewarded with a lack of crowds. This 18th-century summer country house of the Sheremetev family was one of the first summer country estates of the Russian nobility. And when you visit you’ll quickly realize why locals love this park.
Like many other estates, Kuskovo has just been renovated. So there are lovely French formal garden, a grotto, and the Dutch house to explore. Make sure to plan your itinerary well because the estate is some way from a metro station.
Day 6 – Explore the Golden Ring
Creating the Moscow itinerary may keep you busy for days with the seemingly endless amount of things to do. Visiting the so-called Golden Ring is like stepping back in time. Golden Ring is a “theme route” devised by promotion-minded journalist and writer Yuri Bychkov.
Having started in Moscow the route will take you through a number of historical cities. It now includes Suzdal, Vladimir, Kostroma, Yaroslavl and Sergiev Posad. All these awe-inspiring towns have their own smaller kremlins and feature dramatic churches with onion-shaped domes, tranquil residential areas, and other architectural landmarks.
Two Weeks In Thailand: The Perfect 14-Day Itinerary
I only visited two out of eight cities included on the route. It is a no-brainer that Sergiev Posad is the nearest and the easiest city to see on a day trip from Moscow. That being said, you can explore its main attractions in just one day. Located some 70 km north-east of the Russian capital, this tiny and overlooked town is home to Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius, UNESCO Site.

Sergiev Posad is often described as being at the heart of Russian spiritual life. So it is uncommon to see the crowds of Russian pilgrims showing a deep reverence for their religion. If you’re traveling independently and using public transport, you can reach Sergiev Posad by bus (departs from VDNKh) or by suburban commuter train from Yaroslavskaya Railway Station (Bahnhof). It takes about one and a half hours to reach the town.
Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius is a great place to get a glimpse of filling and warming Russian lunch, specifically at the “ Gostevaya Izba ” restaurant. Try the duck breast, hearty potato and vegetables, and the awesome Napoleon cake.
Day 7 – Gorky Park, Izmailovo Kremlin, Patriarch’s Ponds
Metro Station: Park Kultury or Oktyabrskaya on Circle Line / Partizanskaya on Dark Blue Line / Pushkinskaya on Dark Green Line
Gorky Park is in the heart of Moscow. It offers many different types of outdoor activities, such as dancing, cycling, skateboarding, walking, jogging, and anything else you can do in a park. Named after Maxim Gorky, this sprawling and lovely park is where locals go on a picnic, relax and enjoy free yoga classes. It’s a popular place to bike around, and there is a Muzeon Art Park not far from here. A dynamic location with a younger vibe. There is also a pier, so you can take a cruise along the river too.
How to Save Money While Traveling in Europe
The Kremlin in Izmailovo is by no means like the one you can find near the Red Square. Originally built for decorative purposes, it now features the Vernissage flea market and a number of frequent fairs, exhibitions, and conferences. Every weekend, there’s a giant flea market in Izmailovo, where dozens of stalls sell Soviet propaganda crap, Russian nesting dolls, vinyl records, jewelry and just about any object you can imagine. Go early in the morning if you want to beat the crowds.
All the Bulgakov’s fans should pay a visit to Patriarch’s Ponds (yup, that is plural). With a lovely small city park and the only one (!) pond in the middle, the location is where the opening scene of Bulgakov’s novel Master and Margarita was set. The novel is centered around a visit by Devil to the atheistic Soviet Union is considered by many critics to be one of the best novels of the 20th century. I spent great two hours strolling the nearby streets and having lunch in the hipster cafe.
Conclusion and Recommendations
To conclude, Moscow is a safe city to visit. I have never had a problem with getting around and most locals are really friendly once they know you’re a foreigner. Moscow has undergone some serious reconstruction over the last few years. So you can expect some places to be completely different. I hope my one week Moscow itinerary was helpful! If you have less time, say 4 days or 5 days, I would cut out day 6 and day 7. You could save the Golden Ring for a separate trip entirely as there’s lots to see!

I know very little about Moscow or Russia for the\at matter. I do know I would have to see the Red Square and all of its exquisite architectural masterpieces. Also the CATHEDRAL OF CHRIST THE SAVIOUR. Thanks for shedding some light on visiting Moscow.
Thanks for swinging by! The Red Square is a great starting point, but there way too many places and things to discover aside from it!
