AGENDA DE EVENTOS — Esta semana las emociones llegan desde temprano con la visita de la banda musical mexicana RBD. El ‘Soy Rebelde Tour” arrancó el 25 de agosto en el estadio Sun Bowl de El Paso, Texas y visitó Chicago, Nueva York, Miami y ahora llega con cuatro fechas al estadio BMO de Los Ángeles.

Será la primera vez que el grupo suba a un escenario angelino desde que se separaron en diciembre de 2008, tras su último concierto en diciembre de ese año en el estadio Vicente Calderón de Madrid, España. La última vez que RBD estuvo de gira, logró recaudar 72,5 millones de dólares y vendió más de 1,5 millones de entradas, según cifras publicadas por Billboard Boxscore .

Además esta semana llegan en concierto los salseros de Porfi Baloa y sus Adolescentes, el pop de Sin Bandera, los corridos de Eslabón Armado, las rancheras románticas de Christian Nodal, el humor de José Eduardo Derbez y más atracciones de Halloween.

RBD en vivo llega a Los Ángeles

La banda mexicana integrada por Maite Perroni. Anahí, Christian Chavez y Christopher von Uckerman, conocidos como RBD pisan territorio angelino durante cuatro funciones casi seguidas. Los cantantes que habían desintegrado el grupo ahora están de vuelta y desde el inicio de la gira han causado gran revuelo. Aquí se presentarán en el estadio BMO ante la gran convocatoria que tienen en esta ciudad para cantar sus éxitos “Rebelde”, “Salvame”, “Ser o parecer”, “Nuestro amor”, “Este corazón” y muchos más que conquistaron a toda una generación.

Porfi Baloa y sus Adolescentes

El músico y director de orquesta Porfi Baloa regresa a Los Ángeles con su proyecto Adolescentes para llenar de salsa nuestra ciudad. El músico venezolano y la banda que surgió en los años 90 harán vibrar a sus seguidores con éxitos como “Anhelo”, “Persona Ideal”, “Arrepentida”, “Me negó”, “Clase social” y los nuevos temas como “Me gusta mentirosa” y “Aquel lugar”, entre otras. Además dicen que llegan para celebrar con los angelinos el triunfo de Venezuela en la reciente jornada de las eliminatorias al mundial de fútbol. Las puertas abren desde las 9pm

Fue uno de los principales pioneros de la bachata que ayudó a aumentar la popularidad del género en la década de 1990, incluso antes del Grupo Aventura, Romeo Santos y Prince Royce. Taylor Swift's Eras Tour crowd caused earthquake-like tremors. These 5 songs shook SoFi Stadium the most.

Taylor Swift is known to have an energetic fan base, but just how much energy can 70,000 Swifties generate? A group of scientists in California may have an answer based on earthquake-like signals from her Los Angeles Eras Tour concert at SoFi Stadium on Aug. 5, 2023.

After Swift's concerts at Seattle's Lumen Field in July caused seismic activity, a California Institute of Technology research team sought to better understand what causes "concert tremor." The team recorded vibrations from motion sensors it set up near and inside SoFi Stadium as well as regional seismic network stations and was able to detect 43 of the 45 songs Swift performed during her concert. 

By calculating the energy radiated during each song at the Los Angeles concert, the Caltech researchers could interpret each as a local magnitude of an earthquake that would have radiated the same energy, according their research article , published in Seismological Research Letters on March 13.

With these calculations, the study found the most energetic signals during these songs:

• "Shake It Off" with a local magnitude of 0.851
• "You Belong with Me" with a local magnitude of 0.849
• "Love Story" with a local magnitude of 0.800
• "Cruel Summer" with a local magnitude of 0.741
• "22" with a local magnitude of 0.645

The energy released during each song is over a few minutes, rather than a second in the case of an earthquake, explained Gabrielle Tepp, a staff seismologist at the Caltech Seismological Laboratory who oversaw the study. "So the magnitude calculated from the maximum amplitude of shaking is much lower (about -2)," she told CBS News.

The researchers determined that crowd motion was the primary source of the concert tremor signals, not the speaker system and instruments.

They also analyzed three other concerts at SoFi in the summer of 2023: Morgan Wallen, Metallica and Beyoncé.

"Overall, the results from these concerts are similar to those from the Swift concerts and support the audience-source hypothesis," the research article says. "The (local magnitude) of the songs was in the same range as the Swift concerts, although none matched or exceeded the strongest Swift signal."

Swift's Eras Tour has broken multiple records, including becoming the first to gross over $1 billion , according to Pollstar. Swift is currently on a brief break from shows, with the tour starting again on May 9 in Paris after the release of her eleventh studio album, The Tortured Poets Department , on April 19.

Springsteen, band back live in concert, says he 'couldn't sing at all' due to peptic ulcer disease

NEW YORK -- Bruce Springsteen is speaking out after relaunching his tour with the E Street Band following a six-month break to deal with a diagnosis of peptic ulcer disease.

"The Boss" revealed that during the worst stages of his condition, he wasn't able to sing at all.

Calling into Sirius XM's E Street Radio on March 21, Springsteen said, "You sing with your diaphragm. You know, my diaphragm was hurting so badly that when I went to make the effort to sing, it was killing me, so I literally couldn't sing at all, you know? And that lasted for two, three months, along with just a myriad of other painful problems."

"It took a while for the doctors to say, 'Oh, no, you're gonna be OK,'" he said. "At first, nobody was quite saying that, which made me nervous, y'know?"

Now that Springsteen is back in good shape, he said he and the band consider their return to the stage a "whole new tour."

"There'll be a much wider song selection going on," he said. "Some of the second half of the set is built so solid, so a lot of it'll stay. The opening ... I'm not sure what's going to happen up top, but it'll shift around. I'm waiting to see myself where the show is going to take me."

"But ... for us, it's a new tour, a new day, and we're approaching everything like that," he continued. "We're looking forward to having a lot of fun."

The band currently has dates scheduled through November.

According to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, "a peptic ulcer, or stomach or duodenal ulcer, is a sore on the lining of your stomach or duodenum."

Acid from the stomach can cause sores or other types of injury or damage to the esophagus, stomach or small intestine.

"The most common causes of peptic ulcers are Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) [ such as aspirin, ibuprofen or naproxen ] ," the NIDDK states, adding the "common symptoms of peptic ulcers include pain or discomfort in your abdomen, feeling full too soon during or too full after a meal, nausea, bloating, and belching."

Doctors may recommend proton pump inhibitors, H2 blockers or other medicines to treat the condition and help ulcers heal.

"If your peptic ulcers aren't caused by H. pylori infection or NSAIDs, doctors will check for uncommon causes," the agency states. "Depending on the cause, doctors may recommend additional treatments."

Study Shows There Was in Fact a Seismic 'Swift Quake' When Taylor Swift Brought the Eras Tour to L.A.

Researchers at CalTech and UCLA confirmed that Swifties' dancing and jumping at the fifth show of the pop superstar's six-night run at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles resulted in seismic activity

Taylor Swift 's fans did more than just "Shake It Off" at one of her Eras Tour concerts in Los Angeles last year.

According to a study conducted by researchers at Caltech and UCLA, when the pop superstar, 34, brought her career-spanning concert to SoFi Stadium in August 2023, 70,000 Swifties' jumping and dancing amounting to creating seismic activity.

The event is the latest "Swift quake" to result from one of the Grammy winner's shows — as her July tour stop at Seattle's Lumen Field was similarly reported to have resulted in seismic activity the "equivalent of a 2.3 magnitude earthquake" last year.

The researchers released their findings in a report that was published on Wednesday and titled "Shake to the Beat: Exploring the Seismic Signals and Stadium Response of Concerts and Music Fans." According to the academic paper, the audience's movements, as opposed to the music itself, generated "distinct harmonic tremors."

According to The Los Angeles Times , the researchers conducted their study specifically on the fifth night of Swift's six-night run at SoFi Stadium by setting up motion sensors just over five-and-a-half miles from the venue.

The data was then analyzed by looking at spectrograms, or graphs tracking wave length frequencies, which found "Shake It Off" produced the largest local magnitude of 0.851 and "Love Story" also had a significant amplitude.

The scientists were even able to conclude just how large "Swift quakes" are by also looking at the "concert tremors" caused by other huge shows at the same venue from performers like Beyoncé , Metallica and Morgan Wallen .

Caltech and UCLA's study followed findings shared by seismologist Jackie Caplan-Auerbach, who previously looked at how the record-breaking attendance at her Eras Tour show at Seattle's Lumen Field in July resulted in seismic activity.

Swift's acclaimed Eras Tour first launched in spring 2023 and has shattered multiple attendance records throughout its run — even becoming the highest-grossing music tour of all time.

The North American leg of the hitmaker's tour ran throughout much of the spring and summer of last year, and she ended the year by playing a handful of shows across North America.

In 2024, Swift resumed her three-and-a-half-hour show with several dates in Japan , Australia and Singapore , and soon she'll take the concert overseas to Europe.

Following the release of her forthcoming, 11th studio album The Tortured Poets Department , which is due out on April 19, the "Cruel Summer" singer will resume the Eras Tour in late May. Dates across Europe and the U.K. are set to continue throughout the summer and, by the fall, she'll play a handful of additional North American dates .

The concert film of the singer-songwriter's live show recently made its streaming debut on Disney+. Several months after the documentary, directed by Sam Welch, premiered in cinemas in October of last year, the full-length version hit streaming with the show's entire setlist, which has been previosuly cut from the theatrical version for length.

The film broke box office records — earning the most of any concert film in history in its debut weekend — as well as streaming stats. The version exclusive to Disney+, which has been dubbed Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) , became the most-watched music film on the platform just three days after it arrived.
