Celtic Brothers’ passion for singing and performing, combined with a genuine closeness, stems  from a childhood filled with music and singing, a love they carried with them throughout their formative years into adulthood, a gift given to them by musical parents who also had a touring band.

Having recorded four albums as the six-piece Willoughby Brothers, the now refined four-piece Celtic Brothers comprises of Robbie, Des, Johnny and Richie whose unique and recognisable sound which includes a repertoire featuring a blend of Irish ballads, popular classics and contemporary songs that take their audience on an emotive musical journey. ‘’Touring as six brothers became difficult over this past 18 months’’ said Des Willoughby, with it not always being possible to have everyone available due to other work and family commitments.  With four of us now we have more flexibility and are excited about the future.

Having performed in Ireland, the UK and the U.S.A, entertaining and endearing audiences for the past number of years they are delighted to bring their newly evolved show to their loyal and valued followers, The brothers have crafted a very casual banter and delivery during their live shows which are complemented with laughter especially when the oldest brother in the pack, Richie, recalls anecdotal stories of them growing up as children. They also pay respect to their late mother Breda who died aged 38 when the brothers were children leaving the brothers having to rely solely on their father which made them grow even closer.

Richie was the first to follow the stage spotlight, joining his parents’ band playing the drums at the tender age of 13, while Des went onto to study singing with the renowned vocal coach Dr Veronica Dunne, before joining and touring extensively with The Three Irish Tenors. Not only have the brothers a love of singing in common, but they also share a passion for sport, Gaelic football and handball in particular and impressively hold All Ireland handball medals. Adding to the family’s sporting success, Richie, Johnny and Robbie are also World Handball Champions.

Their new album ‘Homeland’ topped the Official iTunes Charts, and has featured prominently on Ireland’s National Radio station RTE 1’s playlist.

‘Celtic Brothers’ is the exciting new act born of the very successful and popular group known as the ‘The Willoughby Brothers’. They have entertained and endeared audiences for the past number of years and are delighted to bring their newly evolved show to their loyal and valued followers. Their unique and recognizable sound includes a repertoire featuring a blend of Irish ballads, popular classics and contemporary songs that take their audience on an emotive musical journey.

They have made a big impression on the national and international music scene with appearances on a number of TV and Radio shows and are regularly play listed on RTE Radio 1. In 2013 they performed the title song at the Rose of Tralee International Festival before a live TV audience of 1.2 million and have also made appearances on RTE’s ‘Up For The Match’, the ‘Derek Mooney Show’ and the ‘John Murray Show’ on Radio 1. They have had the honor of performing at Arás an Uachtaráin by invitation of President Michael D. Higgins and at the home of the GAA in Croke Park at the All-Ireland Hurling Final. The have toured extensively in Ireland, the U.S. and the UK.

WATERTOWN — The North Country Goes Green Irish Festival will see the return of a musical brotherhood as its main act this year.

The six singing Willoughby Brothers, who grew up in Coolboy, County Wicklow, Ireland, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the auditorium of the Dulles State Office Building as part of the three-day festival, which runs from 5 p.m. Friday to 4:30 p.m. next Sunday.

“The Willoughbys bring an energy that you don’t find in other bands,” said Sèan M. Hennessey, co-executive director of the festival, which donates all profits to its scholarship program and various community programs. “There’s a classy nature to their performance. That speaks volumes about our traditions here in the north country and our connections to Ireland. They’re a perfect fit.”

The Willoughby Brothers made their debut at the festival in 2013. It was also their first concert in the U.S. When they returned two years ago, they sold out the Dulles State Office Building auditorium.

The Willoughby Brothers — Desmond, Richie, Sammy, Robbie, Johnny and Jerome — were brought up in a musical family. Their parents, Richard and Breda, were members the popular Irish “country” band the Moonsiders, which performed across Ireland. Their mother died 28 years ago at the age of 38.

In an email, Desmond Willoughby said the brothers are looking forward to their return to Watertown, where Mr. Hennessy expects their concert will sell out again.

“The reaction we got from the crowd that first show was amazing, which took us by surprise as we were pretty unknown at the time and knew that most of the audience hadn’t heard us,” Desmond wrote. “But that was the start of a lovely bond we now have with Watertown.”

The brothers opened their latest U.S. tour Saturday in Indianapolis. Other gigs will include Chicago and Manchester, N.H., before stopping in Watertown.

Desmond, who has also toured the U.S. as a solo act and is a former member of the Three Irish Tenors, said the brothers are looking forward to the U.S. tour.

“We have a very loyal group of people that always come to our shows in the U.S. — we see so many familiar faces,” Desmond said. “One of the best things about what we do is that we get to meet so many new people and build great friendships with them.”

The brothers’ latest album is “He’s My Brother,” released in 2017. Instead of traditional Irish tunes, it features more contemporary songs, including covers of pop hits “Let It Be,” “He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother” and “Rhythm of My Heart.”

“I think it brought our group a wider audience, which was great for us,” Desmond said.

The brothers’ concert repertoire includes “Where the Blarney Roses Grow,” “Will Ye Go Lassie Go,” “Annie’s Song,” “Irish Heart” and “Bring Him Home.”

A recent musical highlight for Desmond was the recording of “The Prayer” with sister-in-law (Riche’s wife) Lorraine Willoughby. The brothers have performed it at weddings and concerts over the years.

“Last year, we decided to record it along with a video, which was shot in the beautiful county of Donegal,” Desmond said. “We released it on Facebook and other social media and it just went viral. Lorraine performs with us in Ireland, but unfortunately she’s not part of this tour, but hopefully in the future, she will.”

Life, Desmond said, continues to be a balancing act for the brothers.

“The extended family now consists of 10 nieces and nephews,” he said. “Our dad, Richard, is the proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren. But I suppose the guy’s wives and partners are very understanding and without their support it would not be possible for us, a group of brothers, to travel and bring what we do to audiences around the world.”

Mr. Hennessey listed some other musical highlights of the festival:

n The Gobshites, performing from 9 p.m. to midnight Friday on the 11th floor.

“They’ve had a huge tour of North America they’ve been on and we’re lucky enough to bring them in for the first time,” Mr. Hennessey said.

The band is based in Boston. Its Facebook page describes their music as “Guinness-inspired Celtic rock with a punk-ass twist that gives your pants and pints a kick.”

n HellCat Maggie performing at 4:30, 7:15 and 9 p.m. Saturday on the first floor.

The seven musicians in this female-fronted, high energy rock group based in the Albany area play an array of instruments, including fiddle, highland pipes, banjo, tin whiste and mandolin.

“They’ll bring a new flavor to the festival,” Mr. Hennessey said.

Hell-Cat Maggie was the pseudonym of an American criminal in the Five Points area of Lower Manhattan in the early 19th century.

n Searson, a festival favorite, returns this year with a concert from 9 p.m. to midnight Saturday on the 11th floor.

“Those who follow the Irish festival know and love Searson,” Mr. Hennessey said. “They’re a huge draw.”

Searson, based in the Ottawa Valley, was created about 20 years ago by Mike Searson, the father of original band members Erin, Colleen and Heather Searson. The core of the band is now Colleen on fiddle and Erin on piano and tenor guitar. They are joined by Dave MacDougall on drums and Frasier Gauthier on guitar. They incorporate traditional music from the Ottawa Valley along with Celtic, Scottish and other musical forms.

The birth of the Traveling Wilburys was a happy accident. Warner Bros. Records’ International Department had asked that George Harrison come up with a B-side for “This Is Love,” a single from his Cloud Nine album. At the time it was customary to couple an A-side with a never-before-heard track, giving the single extra sales value.

This was mid-1988. Cloud Nine was just out. George, along with cowriter Jeff Lynne and their friends Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, and Roy Orbison, had been hanging out in Dylan’s studio. I suppose George figured that as long as his pals were on hand, why not use them to knock off this flipside?

About Stephen Marley

Stephen “Ragga” Marley is a world-renowned singer, songwriter, and producer whose work has earned no fewer than eight Grammy Awards. Born into a musical family, Stephen is the child of reggae legends Bob Marley and Rita Marley. He began singing professionally at 6, touring the world with his elder siblings Ziggy, Sharon, and Cedella in The Melody Makers. In 2008, he released his first solo album, Mind Control, which won the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album. His subsequent solo albums include Mind Control Acoustic, Revelation Part I: The Root of Life, and Revelation Part II: The Fruit of Life. Five of late reggae icon Bob Marley ‘s musical scions announced their first joint tour in nearly 20 years on Monday (April 15), an outing they’re calling The Marley Brothers: The Legacy Tour.

Teaming up for their first extended run of joint dates since 2007, brothers Ziggy, Stephen, Julian, Ky-Mani and Damian will celebrate their beloved father’s music and legacy on the outing that a release promised would feature both their individual hits and classic Bob Marley songs.

April 20 will mark an expansion of screenings of the biopic Bob Marley: One Love , while the 40th anniversary of the “Could You Be Loved” singer’s landmark 1984 greatest-hits compilation Legend will be celebrated next month; in addition, 2025 marks what would have been Marley’s 80th birthday.

Tickets for the tour will start with pre-sales kicking off Tuesday (April 16), including a Citi presale beginning at 10 a.m. local time through Thursday (April 18) at 10 p.m. local time here . A general on-sale will kick off Friday (April 19) at 10 a.m. local time with information available here .

The Marley Brothers

Ziggy marley.

Ziggy Marley is an eight-time GRAMMY winner, Emmy winner, musician, producer, activist, and humanitarian who has cultivated a legendary career for close to 40 years.

The eldest son of Bob and Rita Marley, Ziggy has hewed his own path as a musical pioneer, infusing the reggae genre with funk, blues, rock, and other elements through mindful songcraft. Equal parts master storyteller and motivational guide, he deftly explores issues from environmental awareness to self-empowerment, social injustice to political inequity, while returning again and again to the transformative power of love.

And over the past 15 years with his own companies, Tuff Gong Worldwide and Ishti Music, Marley has complete control of his masters and publishing; alongside his charity URGE – benefiting the well-being of children in Jamaica, Africa, and North America.

Stephen Marley

Stephen “Ragga” Marley is a world-renowned singer, songwriter, and producer whose work has earned no fewer than eight GRAMMY Awards.

Born into a musical family, Stephen is the child of reggae legends Bob Marley and Rita Marley. He began singing professionally at six, touring the world with his elder siblings Ziggy, Sharon, and Cedella in The Melody Makers. In 2008, he released his first solo album, “Mind Control,” which won the GRAMMY Award for Best Reggae Album. His subsequent solo albums include “Mind Control Acoustic,” “Revelation Part I: The Root of Life,” and “Revelation Part II: The Fruit of Life.”

Stephen’s first new full-length album in more than seven years, “Old Soul,” was released on September 15 via Tuff Gong Collective/UMe/Ghetto Youths International. The new album is a departure from his previous Reggae repertoire, showcasing more of his bluesy, acoustic soul side, as evidenced by the first single, “Old Soul.” Stephen is also an acclaimed producer, working closely with his brother Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley on the massive crossover hit “Welcome To Jamrock.”

In addition, Stephen continues to champion charitable endeavors centered in Jamaica as a co-founder of the Ghetto Youths Foundation, along with his brothers Damian and Julian Marley.  In 2017, Stephen established Kaya Fest, the annual music festival, which features special guests and rare family performances, all with the larger purpose of raising awareness around the benefits of cannabis, guided by the mantra “Education Before Recreation.”

Julian Marley

Julian Marley, born in London, England, on June 4, 1975, to Bob Marley and Lucy Pounder, embraced a musical upbringing, mastering various instruments as a self-taught musician.

Mentored by reggae greats in Jamaica, he released his debut album, “Lion in the Morning,” in 1996, followed by international tours. He contributed to Lauryn Hill’s GRAMMY-winning album and collaborated on a Stevie Wonder tribute. His sophomore album, “A Time and Place,” showcased a fusion of reggae and jazz. Julian spearheaded the “Africa Unite” performances and performed at the 2008 Olympic Games. His GRAMMY-nominated album “Awake” in 2009 garnered acclaim, winning Best Album of the Year at the IRAWMAs.

Julian, deeply rooted in Rastafarianism like his father, remains committed to spiritual and global messages in his music, embodying a conscious movement in reggae.

Ky-Mani Marley

Ky-Mani Marley, son of reggae legend Bob Marley and Anita Belnavis, is a GRAMMY-nominated artist who burst onto the scene with his 1996 debut album “Like Father Like Son,” blending reggae with hip-hop.

Born in Falmouth, Jamaica, he has a diverse discography including “Many More Roads” (2001), “Maestro” (2015), and a collaboration with Gentleman titled “Conversations.”

Beyond music, Ky-Mani has showcased his acting skills in films like “Shottas” (2002) and “One Love” (2003). With his soulful voice and powerful lyrics, he upholds the Marley legacy while forging his own distinctive path in entertainment.

Damian Marley

Multi-GRAMMY-winning talent, Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley is a highly acclaimed Jamaican singer, songwriter, and producer. He is the youngest son of the revered legend Bob Marley. His musical style fuses reggae with elements of dancehall, hip-hop, R&B, and rock, crafting a fresh and modern sound that is uniquely his own.

Damian was the first ever Reggae artist to win a GRAMMY Award outside of the reggae category. The acclaimed 2005 breakthrough disc, “Welcome To Jamrock,” won a GRAMMY Award for Best Reggae Album, with the New York Times naming the track “the best reggae song of the decade.”

In 2010, Marley teamed up with Nas and brother Stephen Marley for his “Distant Relatives” project, and went on to partner with Skrillex for their groundbreaking track “Make It Bun Dem,” which Rolling Stone called “a monster mash-up of dubstep and dancehall” and went platinum with over one million copies sold in the United States alone.

Following the track’s success, the reggae superstar released his fourth studio album, “Stony Hill,” resulting in his third GRAMMY Award for Best Reggae Album. In September of 2022, Marley produced the studio album “The Kalling” for Kabaka Pyramid which won Best Reggae Album at the 65th Annual GRAMMY Awards.

Most recently, “Jr. Gong” released his rendition of the famed George Harrison track “My Sweet Lord.” The track got the stamp of approval by George’s beloved wife, Olivia, as well as the George Harrison Estate.

Damian is the co-founder of the renowned Welcome To Jamrock Reggae Cruise.

The Marley Brothers To Reunite For 2024 ‘Legacy Tour’ Celebrating The Music Of Bob Marley

A reggae family reunion will hit stages across North America this fall when The Marley Brothers — Ziggy ,  Stephen ,  Julian ,  Ky-Mani , and Damian —unite for  The Legacy Tour . The 22-date trek presented by  Live Nation will see the sons of reggae icon  Bob Marley pay tribute to their late father.

The Legacy Tour will mark these Marley brothers’ first joint outing in two decades. Between them, they have amassed 22 total Grammys following Julian’s “Best Reggae Album” win for  Colors of Royal this year. Each night, the brothers will celebrate Bob Marley’s classic songs alongside selections from their distinct solo catalogs. This announcement comes after Stephen and Damian wrapped their collaborative  Traffic Jam tour last month.

Kicking off on September 5th in Vancouver,  The Legacy Tour will traverse the U.S. and Canada, visiting major cities including Phoenix (9/12), Austin (9/15), Cincinnati (9/18), New York City (9/22), Toronto (9/29), and more throughout September. Following a string of October shows in the Southeast, the tour will wrap on October 5th with a concert in Miami.

An artist pre-sale for The Marley Brothers’ 2024 Legacy Tour will begin on Tuesday, April 16th in addition to a pre-sale for Citi cardmembers running from Tuesday at 10 a.m. local time through Thursday, April 18th at 10 p.m. local time. The Jonas Brothers Are Facing Fan Backlash After Rescheduling Their European Tour Dates

The internet is currently filled with disappointed Jonas Brothers fans.

On Wednesday, April 10, the band announced via X that they are rescheduling the European leg of their tour , noting that upcoming shows are being shifted to later this year. “We appreciate your love and support so much,” the trio wrote. “We know this is a bit inconvenient but we can’t wait to share more about what’s coming.”

The bandmates added that previously purchased tickets will be honored for the new tour dates. A note on the Jonas Brothers’ website says that European concerts are being postponed due to “scheduling conflicts.”

Fans of Joe Jonas , Kevin Jonas and Nick Jonas took to social media to share their grievances about the scheduling change. “I love the jonas brothers but the way they and their team are doing things is not okay,” X user @heyitsjobros wrote . “@jonasbrothers you can’t just reschedule tour dates without giving an explanation. people [are] traveling from different sites to see you and you just postponed shows for MONTHS later? “

X user @Yassmine_ehb added , “I had 9 tickets in 6 countries, You cancel the tour bc you have more exciting projects.Did you think of all of us who put so much money for this ? Hotels and plane are not refundable.”

The band is currently globe-trotting across Latin America , with upcoming shows in Chile, Peru and Colombia. Dubbed The Tour , the concerts showcase the brothers as they perform five albums throughout the evening: 2007’s Jonas Brothers, 2008’s A Little Bit Longer, 2009’s Lines, Vines and Trying Times and 2019’s Happiness Begins. There are also select songs from 2023’s The Album.

“We’ve been burnt out before and then you’re like, ‘I still got 20 more shows on this tour,” he explained. “So we all have our own perspective ways of going about that, and we just make sure that that’s prioritized and also that we think the three of us are communicating as best as we can.”

The singer added that performing “doesn’t feel like work” when it’s in front of the band’s fans. “We’re treating this like the best tour we’ve ever done,” he said. “And I think we intend to make it that experience for fans as well.”

The Marley Brothers Announce North American Tour in 2024

T he Marley Brothers are back in action with a North American tour this fall! The famed reggae group, which is made up of several of reggae legend Bob Marley’s sons, will travel across the US and Canada for a pretty hefty lineup of shows. It doesn’t look like there will be any openers or supporting acts for The Legacy Tour, but the high-energy group really doesn’t need anyone to hype up a crowd for them.

The Marley Brothers 2024 Tour will kick off on September 5 in Vancouver, British Columbia at Festival Lawn at Deer Lake Park. The tour will close on October 5 in Miami, Florida at FPL Solar Amphitheatre.

Fans can get their hands on tickets early through a few different presale events on Ticketmaster starting April 16 at 10:00 am local. VIP packages are also available.

Public on-sale starts on April 19 at 10:00 am local. If you can’t find tickets after the presale event ends, try Stubhub . It’s a great spot to score last-minute tickets, especially if your concert of choice is sold out.

We begin our Moscow tour beneath the city, exploring the underground palace of the Moscow Metro. From the Square of Revolution station, famous for its huge statues of soviet people (an armed soldier, a farmer with a rooster, a warrior, and more), we’ll move onto some of the most significant stations, where impressive mosaics, columns, and chandeliers will boggle your eyes! Moreover, these stations reveal a big part of soviet reality — the walls depict plenty of Propaganda , with party leaders looking down from images on the walls. Your local guide will share personal stories of his/her family from USSR times, giving you insight into Russia’s complicated past and present. Then we’re coming back up to street level, where we’ll take a break and refuel with some Russian fast food: traditional pancakes, called bliny. And then, stomachs satiated, we are ready to move forward! We’ll take the eco-friendly electric trolleybus, with a route along the Moscow Garden Ring. Used mainly by Russian babushkas(grannies) during the day, the trolleybus hits peak hours in the mornings and evenings, when many locals use it going to and from their days. Our first stop will be the Aviator’s House, one of Stalin’s Seven Sisters, followed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs — and you’ll hear the legends of what has gone on inside the walls. Throughout your Moscow tour, you’ll learn curious facts from soviet history while seeing how Russia exists now, 25 years after the USSR.

He didn't take shortcuts and really covered everything that was on the agenda in great detail. The Jonas Brothers Are Facing Major Backlash for Rescheduling Tour Dates in Favor of a "Project"

Jonas Brothers fans are calling "S.O.S." over the band's decision to reschedule European tour dates for reasons that seem extremely vague.

Kevin Jonas, Joe Jonas and Nick Jonas took to social media to announce the move, writing, "Europe!! We’re shifting our upcoming shows to later this year. We appreciate your love and support so much. We know this is a bit inconvenient but we can’t wait to share more about what’s coming

"All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the new date and info is at http://Jonasbrothers.com. More details will be sent out on email. "Latin America - We can’t wait to see you next week!!"

In the accompanying video, Nick said, "We have shifted the European dates to later this year, but that is only because we have some exciting projects that we're very excited to share with you at a later point. European fans, we love you, we can't wait to see you, it's been long overdue, and we're so excited to play these shows later this year in the fall."

The rescheduled shows were originally slated for just a month from now.

Fans were extremely unhappy with the news—especially considering the explanation seemed flimsy—with many pointing out that they had already booked travel and accommodation for the shows.

"So plane tickets and hotels are free ? I'm really pissed off," commented one person.

"Cancelling due to sickness/illness or family commitments I would totally understand," remarked another. "But re-scheduling for a 'project' that you are prioritising over a tour that thousands of people have paid out for, on tickets/transport/hotels DURING A COST OF LIVING CRISIS?????? REALLY????"

"Read the room please how can you all look so happy when rescheduling literally a month before the tour was meant to start?" asked someone else. "The short notice is gonna be hell for us to get refund for our flights and accommodations + getting time off of work. This ain’t nice"

On the band's website , a note reads, "Due to scheduling conflicts, the Jonas Brothers shows have been rescheduled. All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the new date, and additional tickets are on sale now. More information will be sent directly to ticket holders via email."

The three brothers have already played shows in the Philippines, Indonesia, New Zealand and Australia, and are headed to Brazil on April 16.

While fans are rightly frustrated that the European dates have been rescheduled for such fuzzy reasons, the Jonases have previously addressed the importance of protecting their mental health when touring.

Joe recently told the Associated Press , "We’ve been burnt out before and then you’re like, 'I still got 20 more shows on this tour.' The shows were scheduled for this spring but moved to fall

Due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts, the Jonas Brothers are shifting the European leg of The Tour to start in September. The trek begins on September 9th in Belfast with dates through October 16th in Krakow. All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the new dates and additional tickets are on sale now. Current ticketholders will receive more information via email.

Produced by Live Nation, The Tour is their most ambitious outing to date with 98 shows across 26 countries. Every night is a celebration of five albums and features their best hits throughout the years including a variety of career-spanning deep cuts and fan-favorite hits.

Their monumentally successful North American run, which hit legendary venues including Toronto’s Rogers Centre, Chicago’s Wrigley Field, and Los Angeles’ Dodger Stadium, concluded in 2023 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. In 2024, The Tour continues its trek around the globe, returning next to South America for the first time in ten years. The Latin American leg of The Tour will see the band perform in Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Chile, and Argentina, along with three performances across Mexico. They will also perform for the first time in Poland, Austria, Czech Republic, Northern Ireland, Hamburg, Lyon, Munich, and Norway later this fall.

The Marley Brothers announce tour to honor father's legacy

This will be the brothers' first performance together in two decades.

Bob Marley's legacy will live on in a big way this year.

The Marley Brothers -- Ziggy , Stephen, Julian, Ky-Mani and Damian Marley -- have announced a 22-date tour kicking off this September in a reunion run for the children of Bob Marley.

"The Marley Brothers: The Legacy Tour" will kick off on Sept. 5 in Vancouver, British Columbia, and span a full month before ending on Oct. 5 in Miami, according to a release from Live Nation announcing the tour.

The tour will include individual hits from Bob Marley's children, as well as their father's classics, according to Live Nation. Combined, Marley's children account for several Grammys individually, including Julian Marley's best reggae album win at the 2024 ceremony.

Several of Bob Marley's children were members of a group called Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers, founded in 1979, which saw several years of success before the children forged their own solo careers.

The tour will precede what would have been Bob Marley's 80th birthday in 2025, celebrating the reggae innovator and his global success spreading messages of unity and peace. The tour will mark the brothers' first time playing together in two decades.

The release also noted that "Bob Marley: One Love," a biographical drama chronicling Marley's life, will start expanded screenings on Saturday, April 20.

Earlier this year, Ziggy Marley wrote in a letter published by People that he misses everything about his father, who was only 36 when he died of cancer in May 1981.
