Sam Attwater wins Dancing On Ice 2011 despite Laura Hamilton's perfect 10s - and accidentally grabbing Brianne Delcourt's boob in Bolero routine

Former EastEnders star Sam Attwater was crowned the Dancing On Ice 2011 champion after one of the tightest grand finals the show has ever seen

The 24-year-actor won the public's hearts with his 'passionate' version of show star's Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean's Bolero - despite accidentally leaving his hand on her breast at the end as they sprawled on the ice.

Sam gushed about Brianne, 29, too as he lifted the winner's trophy, saying: 'I've had the time of my life. I've made a friend for life and I wouldn't be here now if it wasn't for Brianne.'

Scroll down to watch Sam's Bolero and Laura land her perfect 10s...

The pair won through with their consistently good skating since the show started in January and Sam had been the bookies' favourite since day one.

However, they had caused controversy earlier in the show's run over accusations they had tried to manipulate viewers with a 'faux-mance' between themselves.

In February, they had told show host Phillip Schofield they were 'an item' as they conducted a series of photoshoots in glossy magazines, even posing in bed with just their ice skates and giving quotes saying they ‘loved each other to bits’ and had met each other’s parents.

However, when Sam was snapped kissing another girl, he came clean that they weren't in a relationship and is said to have apologised to show bosses.

Sam had also been struggling with a rib injury that saw him strapped up ahead of tonight's grand final, where he skated a routine to Footloose, which landed him his best ever score of 29.5.

He later did his 'Riverdance on ice' routine, which landed 9.5s across the board.

However, Laura, 28, and partner Colin Ratushniak, 26, were gracious in coming second place too - despite the fact they had earlier scored the show's only set of straight 10s from the judges for their dance to the Pointer Sisters' I'm So Excited.

Children's TV presenter Laura told hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield after Sam had been crowned the winner: 'I've lived breathed and ate ice skating for the past six, seven months. I couldn't have asked for a better partner.

'It's been an amazing experience and I feel like the luckiest person alive. I'm going to continue skating 100%.'

Earlier, all three finalists had skated a routine they'd entirely created themselves - including coming up with props, lighting design, costume design etc - as well as one of their favourite programmes from over the past few weeks of the show.

The public then voted to whittle it down to the two who would then battle it out skating the Bolero, ice dancing's most famous routine - which Chris and Jayne had skated at the start of the show.

Chloe Madeley had earlier failed to get through to the final two in the public vote after skating routines to Holly Valance's Kiss Kiss and (I've Had) The Time Of My Life from Dirty Dancing, so missed out on the chance to perform the Bolero and a shot at winning.

Earlier, her father Richard - who was sat in the audience with her mother Judy Finnegan - had heckled judges Jason Gardiner, Emma Bunton and Robin Cousins for not scoring her higher.

Jason said of her Dirty Dancing routine, which landed her 26.5: 'It was an okay re-creation of Dirty Dancing, but if you're going to copy iconic moves like the table top lift, well yours looked like a collapsible card table to me.'

Robin agreed, saying: 'Baby wasn't necessarily in a corner, but she wasn't where she needed to be a couple of times. It was just not quite working the way it needed to.'

However, Emma said, while pointing to Jason and Robin: 'You really light the ice up and I enjoy your performance so much. It's every girls dream to do this dance - and these two are just getting old!

However, Chloe said she was still overwhelmed to come third, and told Holly and Phil: 'I'm so thrilled we got to the final, I'm on cloud nine. I've loved being here. At least you get to see Michael do his Bolero on the tour as it is a treat.'

Laura meanwhile had come second despite landing the only set of perfect 10s on the whole series this year.

Although her initial ensemble dance to Madonna's Express Yourself only landed her 26, she wowed the judges with her reprise of her routine to the Pointer Sisters' I'm So Excited - which Laura ended with a brain-rattling overhead spin.

As reported earlier, Jason was so impressed he raised his hat to her - and revealed his new £12,000 hair transplant.

Laura said of coming second however: 'As I said before, it's been a rollercoaster, it doesn't matter where you are on the leaderboard it's all up to the people at home.'

It seems that the public - as well as the judges - found Sam's Bolero more believable and touching - somewhat ironic considering his earlier 'faux-mance' headlines.

Jayne Torvill said of his version: 'I thought that was brilliant very moving, very passionate' as Jason enthused, 'That was incredibly captivating. Most importantly, you allowed time to breathe and execute everything - just beautiful.'

When it came to Jason's verdict on Laura's version, the judge appeared to sum up the feelings of those watching her on the show as well as those at home: 'It lacked the finesse of Sam's but overall you've been an amazing competitor.'

Laura, Sam and Chloe will all be back on the ice however when the Dancing On Ice Live tour kicks off on April 9 in Sheffield.

They will be joined by Comedy Dave Vitty, Jeff Brazier, Johnson Beharry, Vanilla Ice, Denise Welch and 2010 champion Hayley Tamaddon.

'Dancing On Ice' Top 5 moments of 2011

This year's Dancing On Ice has been the most controversial and thrilling in its history. After six years on air, it would have been easy to rest on its laurels, but the producers found a shiny, icy new home and pulled the best lineup ever out of the bag (we may have been swayed by Vanilla Ice). Also, out of nowhere, we have a genuinely too-close-to-call final - a rarity in recent years. Sam Attwater, Laura Hamilton and Chloe Madeley are all potential winners on Sunday night and we wouldn't rule any result out. Ahead of the Sunday night showdown, we've compiled a list of our favourite moments from the series. All together now... "Ice, Ice baby..."

Jason Gardiner vs Karen Barber Gardiner vs Healy had an element of humour about it. Gardiner vs Karen Barber was a totally different matter all together. Some have suggested that the pair's very public row was staged, but the insults felt very real and the tension between the pair has been noticeable for years. Barber's new position as 'mentor' to the celebrities had undermined her authority on the show, so for Gardiner to pick that up and throw it back in her face was about as cutting as it gets. ITV was probably rubbing its hands with glee as it all kicked off rink-side and the tabloids had a field day. Us lucky viewers at home just got to sit and watch as two work colleagues settled their differences on national television!

Chloe Madeley skates to the top Every contestant wheels out the 'I thought I was going to go in week one' cliché, but Chloe Madeley had more reason than most to feel pessimistic. She openly admits that her primary claim to fame is her parents and with no real fanbase to call upon it looked like she might struggle in the early rounds. Combine that pressure with Sunday afternoon panic attacks and some seriously shredded nerves and it makes it all the more incredible that Miss M has skated her way to the final, and even on one occasion topped the judges' scoreboard. We take our hat off to the girl.

Sam loves Brianne? Reality TV romances are ten a penny these days. Long gone are the days when we believed these things would last and we cared enough to pick up the OK mag exclusive. However, this year's DOI love-in had a bit of a twist. After one week of naughty interviews about their sex lives, Sam Attwater and Brianne Delcourt were accused of being fakes. The tabloids' proof? Sam was photographed kissing another girl. The pair have both denied that they were fibbing, but did end their relationship pretty swiftly. We'll leave it up to you guys to decide the real story.

Laura Hamilton shows us her headbanger Nickelodeon presenter Laura Hamilton relied on the judges saving her in week one, but she never let that dampen her spirits, and her enthusiasm for the challenges - and dangers - of Dancing On Ice have made her a joy to watch. The best performer on the ice and also the bravest, she wowed us all last weekend when she finally pulled off the most dangerous move on the show - the headbanger. With her partner Colin swinging her by her ankles, seemingly without a care in the word, she came literally within a single hair's width of a disastrous, painful and bloody end to her Dancing On Ice journey. Will she dare to do it all again in the final?

The Dancing On Ice final airs on Sunday at 7.40pm on ITV1.

The trains and stations of the Moscow Metro

2 Comments · Posted by Alex Smirnov in Cities , Travel , Video

The Moscow Metro is the third most intensive subway system in the world after Tokyo and Seoul subways. The first line was opened on May 15, 1935. Since 1955, the metro has the name of V.I. Lenin.

The system consists of 12 lines with a total length of 305.7 km. Forty four stations are recognized cultural heritage. The largest passenger traffic is in rush hours from 8:00 to 9:00 and from 18:00 to 19:00.

Cellular communication is available on most of the stations of the Moscow Metro. In March 2012, a free Wi-Fi appeared in the Circle Line train. The Moscow Metro is open to passengers from 5:20 to 01:00. The average interval between trains is 2.5 minutes.

The fare is paid by using contactless tickets and contactless smart cards, the passes to the stations are controlled by automatic turnstiles. Ticket offices and ticket vending machines can be found in station vestibules.
