Sides is a fried chicken food chain that launched in November 2021 by a group of seven Youtubers. Until now, it was only available on delivery services.

The brand was launched by The Sidemen, a team of YouTubers, including KSI, Miniminter, Zerkaa, Ethan (also known as Behzinga), Vikkstar123, TBJZL, and W2S.

Behzinga told Insider they were thrilled to have opened their first branch in Boxpark, Wembley, because "it's fast-moving, agile, and thrives online, so it felt like a perfect fit for a brand built by creators."

The group works in partnership with Reef, which transforms urban spaces into community hubs that create jobs and bring new goods, services, and experiences to a chosen area.

They also offer the XIX Box Chicken or XIX Box Vegan Chicken — otherwise known as The Shoebox, which includes a main, a side, a drink, and a dip.

The Sidemen wanted Sides to be more accessible for their fans while also appealing to a new audience. "So creating a physical experience that everyone can enjoy was an obvious next step for us," Ethan said.

Employees have said that since the restaurant opened it's created a frenzy and fans are constantly asking after The Sidemen. Two Reef employees told Insider about their expansion plans and ambition to open more stores in various locations in the US by the end of 2022.

The option of having both a ghost kitchen and a physical store "is the sweet spot and we're excited to roll out more physical locations alongside our virtual offering," Ethan said.

Magic Restroom restaurant, Los Angeles

Ten of the world's weirdest restaurants

Magic restroom cafe, los angeles.

The idea of sitting on a toilet in public is the stuff of nightmares but that hasn't stopped the Magic Restroom making loos the focus of its new themed restaurant in LA. In fact toilet-themed restaurants are nothing new – Taiwans' Modern Toilet where chocolate ice-cream is served in toilet-shaped dishes is well-documented. Inspired by its success Magic Restroom owner YoYo Li has introduced toilets as seats and a mix of Asian and western food – like zha jiang mian, named "constipation" on the menu, braised pork over rice, ("smells-like-poop"), and sundaes (choose from chocolate "black poop" or the vanilla-strawberry sundae "bloody number two") served, of course, in miniature toilet bowls. Revolting and distrubing in equal measure. Freud would have a field day. Isabel Choat

Twin Stars Diner, Moscow

Twin Stars restaurant, Moscow

It's hard to stand out in a city that loves extreme dining, whether it involves vines and amphorae, ( Tiflis , the Russian word for the Georgian capital, Tbilisi), moving trams ( Annushka ), live goats ( Shinok ), or waterfalls ( Blue Elephant ) – but Alexei Khodorkovsky has managed to find a new niche, with the opening of his twin-themed restaurant. At the Twin Stars diner in Moscow , all the staff – from waiters to bartenders and even the chefs – are identically-dressed twins. The creepy concept is inspired by a 1964 Soviet film in which a girl winds up in an alternate reality and confronts her twin. Khodorkovsky says it's been hard to find suitably qualifed twins but the concept is paying off - the 24-hour restaurant is a hit with locals who don't seem bothered about the issue of whether or not to tip twice.

If Twin Stars represents the new Russia with its modern, funky design, the Expedicia is more traditional Russia - appealing, one imagines, to chest-beating Putin types with a love of the outdoors. In the pricey, survival-themed Expeditsia ("expedition") restaurant you eat between an orange helicopter parked in the pine trees and a stuffed polar bear scratching itself by a stream.

Guests can sprawl on the roof garden lawn or be beaten with birch twigs in the Siberian banya. Ingredients such as wild duck, fresh berries and mountain honey are flown in from the far north and east of Russia, and delicacies include elk in aspic, smoked venison, sea urchin and sturgeon, served with vodka, sea buckthorn juice or Baikal mineral water. Expect to pay around 1,500 roubles (£30) for a main course; a shot of vodka will set you back around £5 and a fresh juice £9. expedicia.ru Phoebe Taplin and Isabel Choat

Carton King, Taichung City, Taiwan

Taiwan has a penchant for themed absurdity when it comes to eating out. Whether for Japanese assassins lurking in the rafters at Ninja or the drinks served in specimen bottles to wash down one's turd-shaped bread at the aforementioned Modern Toilet, the food is rarely the primary draw. And so it is with Carton King, a restaurant whose owner was so depressed by the preponderance of plastic in modern life he built an eatery which, instead, promotes the virtues of corrugated cardboard. From the chairs to the plates and even the walls – the whole place is bedecked in the brown stuff. The food, although not fine dining, was more than edible and all that remained of our stewed pork ribs and herb-roasted chicken was the odd greasy smear on our cardboard table. Definitely worth a visit … just remember to leave your lighter at home. Mark Pygott

Barbie restaurant, Taipei, Taiwan

Barbie restaurant, Taipei

The Far East's love of all things cute and fluffy is well known; whether it's actual, real-life cuteness in the shape of Tokyo's cat cafes , where pet-less Tokyoites go to stroke and play with cats and kittens, or the Hello Kitty phenomenon in Seoul. So the only surprise about Taipei's Barbie restaurant is that it took so long for someone to come up with the idea. It is staffed by waitresses in bright pink tops, tutus and tiaras, while the chairs are dressed in tutus and there's enough pink food to sink a Barbie cruise ship. IC

Le Refuge des Fondues, Paris

Why, when in Paris, a city full of great restaurants , you would choose to go for a fondue is anyone's guess but tucking into the Swiss dish is not the oddest thing about Le Refuge des Fondues in Monmatre. The real weirdness begins when you order your wine – and it's brought to you in a baby's bottle, apparently a ruse to avoid French tax on wine served in proper glasses. Gooey cheese and drinking out of a teat – it's not somewhere you'd want to go on a first date, but it's been pulling in the tourist crowds for decades. 17 Rue des 3 Frères IC

The Royal Dragon, Bangkok, Thailand

The Royal Dragon, Bangkok, Thailand

If you think Britain's biggest restaurant , serving 2,000 diners a day, is massive, think again. Bangkok's Royal Dragon is monumental. The colossal seafood place sprawls across 8.35 acres, has 1,000 staff, and requires 540 costumed waiters on roller skates to serve some 5,000 customers. And while it boasts the largest collection of live seafood tanks and 1,000 pan-Asian dishes, diners don't come for the food. It's all about the spectacle: traditional Thai and Chinese music, dance and martial arts shows, and waiters walking on water and "flying" through the air on zip-wires. Watch what you order if you choose live seafood (it is priced by weight and can be expensive), so there are no surprises – other than the waiters falling from the sky, that is. The dim sum buffet and set menus are the best value. Service can be slow despite the wheels and wires, making the experience best done with a group of (well-lubricated) friends. royal-dragon.com Lara Dunston

The Heart Attack Grill, Las Vegas, US

Heart Attack Grill, Las Vegas

We all know Americans love big portions. The Heart Attack Grill in Vegas (where else?) celebrates the fact with gusto by serving obscenely huge burgers with sides of fries deep-fried in lard. Diners are given hospital style gowns before tucking into the likes of a quadruple bypass burger, a towering heart attack on a plate made with four beef patties and 20 slices of bacon, served by waitresses dressed as nurses who will help you out of the restaurant in a wheel chair if necessary. If you are prepared to gamble with your health, the Heart Attack Grill is certainly a meal to remember. heartattackgrill.com IC

Draculas and Witches in Britches, Melbourne, Australia

Witches In Britches Theatre Restaurant, Melbourne

Two longstanding Melbourne schlock horror-themed theatre restaurants owe their recent resurgence in popularity to the Twilight phenomenon, the current obsession with vampires, witches and werewolves, and the burlesque craze. Claiming to have served three million people in 30 years, Draculas offers a camp, vaudevillian-style cabaret during a three-course dinner that begins with drinks in the Graveyard cocktail lounge and a ghost-train ride.

Located in the Wicked Castle, the 40-year old Witches in Britches offers a kitschy interactive show rooted in contemporary pop culture (it helps to have some knowledge of Aussie television) and a five-course meal that starts with pumpkin soup with "herbs picked from the old hag's garden", ladled from a cauldron. draculas.com.au , witchesinbritches.com.au LD

Onkel Taa, Italian Tyrol

Onkel Taa, Italian Tyrol

Hidden away in a tiny village of the Italian Tyrol, Onkel Taa is a gourmet restaurant serving traditional Mitteleuropa cuisine, but it is also the fantasy world of the owner-chef, Karl Platino. He is known in Italy as "Il Re delle Lumache", the Snail King, because not only does he serve a dozen dishes featuring snails, he also breeds these molluscs in the jungle-like gardens surrounding the restaurant. And this is only one of Onkel Taa's passions: the decor of the cosy wood-panelled osteria is filled with his weird and wonderful collections – everything from corkscrews to snail shaped fossils; and a whole museum is dedicated to the Habsurg Empire and Emperor Franz Josef in particular, whom, coincidentally, the chef closely resembles. And if you want to see something really special, ask to go upstairs from the dining room, where Signor Platino has over a thousand incredible antique wooden doors stashed away. bad-egart.com John Brunton

Soldatenkaffee, Bandung, Indoneisa

Soldaten Kaffee, Indonesia

And the award for most tastless restaurant goes to ... the Soldatenkaffee in Bandung, Indonesia. Celebrating "Hitler as pop culture" it is staffed by waiters in Nazi uniform. On the menu are "German" nachos, curry wurst and "Bird Ness", whatever that is; and on the walls are photos of Hitler, stormtroopers and swastikas. Owner Henry Mulyana seemed genuinely surprised at the outrage the restaurant caused, insisting that he doesn't idolise Hitler, he "simply adores the soldier's paraphernalia", a message he emphasises on his website: "This WEB is not pro NAZI. It is matter of fact, with the intention of exploring Hitler & the NAZIS as pop culture. The authors of the WEB are not NAZIS or neo-NAZIS, we are Indonesian with no political affiliations". The furore caused by Soldatenkaffee didn't put off another owner opening the equally offensive Hitler Fried Chicken in Bangkok, a bizarre take on KFC, with an image of Hitler replacing that of Colonel Sanders.

19. Modern Toilet Restaurant, Taipei, Taiwan

It's a toilet-themed restaurant. We're not shitting you (see what we did there?). The chairs are actual non-functional toilets. The walls have chequered tiles and shower heads. The dishes are served in miniature toilet bowls; the drinks in miniature urinals. Plungers hang from the ceiling as do lights in the shape of faeces. Gross or positively inspired? You be the judge!

18. New Lucky Restaurant, Ahmedabad, India

If dining with the dead is your wish, the New Lucky Restaurant in Ahmedabad caters. No, seriously people eat beside actual graves. The owner, Krishnan Kutti, decided to set up the restaurant accommodating an old Muslim graveyard rather than disturb the final resting place of the unnamed dead. There have been no reports of ghost sightings till now so it might be worth a visit!

17. Twin Stars Diner, Moscow, Russia

Everyone in this offbeat restaurant in Moscow , every waiter, bartender and chef, is an identical twin. They even have to dress alike. The restaurant, according to the owner Alexei Khodorkovsky, has been inspired by a 1964 Soviet film about, you guess it, twins! Talk about a novel concept!

16. Heart Attack Grill, Las Vegas, USA

A hospital-themed restaurant where the food actually might get you hospitalised! The tagline of this weird restaurant is "taste worth dying for" and it's pretty apt! The most famous item on their menu is the quadruple bypass burger which contains four beef patties and 20 slices of bacon. The waitresses are dressed as nurses and might make you feel a bit better about digging into all that food with shameless abandon. Because who needs to be fit when the food is so yummy? 15. Dinner in the Sky, Various cities

If you suffer from vertigo, you probably should not go to this restaurant. The name is literal. There's a portable table and attached chairs that are hoisted 100 ft above the ground. The table seats 22 people and they watch as a chef prepares their food right in front of them as they hover in mid-air. It started out in Belgium and is now present in cities across the world like Las Vegas, Paris and Malaysia. It'll be one thrilling food story that you'd love to tell!

14. Robot Restaurant, Tokyo, Japan

Of all the places in the world, Japan is possibly the weirdest; think over the top TV programmes, to sleeping on the job being completely normal. So it doesn't surprise us in the least that they came up with the concept of a robot restaurant. It comes equipped with headache-inducing neon lights, thumping music and half naked women fighting cyborgs. Indeed weirdest of them all!

12. Alcatraz E.R., Japan

Ever wonder what it is like to be in a prison. Of course being cramped up in a bar cell is not something we would like to experience in our real life, but there is one place in the world that will let you have a gist of it. Alcatraz E.R. restaurant in Japan is a grotesque version of a mental institution where you will be served your food amidst a scary setting of blood and gore. If that hasn’t had you tremble in fear yet, watch out for the food which will be equally unappetizing coming out of mannequin heads and bedpan urinals. The Restaurant has been designed to give you a shiver and so far, it has done a commendable job at it. Visit it if you dare!

Set up at 16 feet below the sea level, this popular one of a kind restaurant is located in the Rangali Island Resort, and provides you with an experience unlike ever before. You get to eat in a cosy intimate room surrounded by millions of fishes and marines whom you will be gazing at through its clear glass walls. If watching them is not enough for you, you can eat them too! The food served here, with its quintessential coastal flavours, is a true delight that is not to be missed.

10. Ninja, New York, United States

Whether the restaurant was borne out of the owner’s love for those age old ninja legends or due to his penchant for unusualness we would never know, but one thing for sure, its is probably one of the most creative concepts that have hit the city in the recent years. Just imagine yourself being led through a dark dingy alley aka ‘Secret Passage’ by some black-clad ninja warriors only to be dumped in a dungeon-like a room where you are served some very exciting yet drool-worthy combinations of flavours. If that’s not enough for you, the ninjas will also be showing some nice magic tricks to keep you entertained for the rest of the evening. Sounds exciting right?

8. Barbie restaurant, Taipei, Taiwan

More than bizarre and weird, this restaurant in Taipei is a cliche come true with everything being heavily doped in sweetness, cuteness and shall we call it... pink-ness? Don’t get me wrong, if you get past the colour, the place is pretty fun to be in, especially if you are a girl. Not to stereotype, but it will let you relive those old childhood barbie-playing days with its perfect setting of pink tutu adorned chairs accompanied by pink wearing, tiara-donning waitresses who serve some of the most lip-smacking food in the city.

7. The Royal Dragon, Bangkok, Thailand

If there is one thing you must know about the place is that it is massive! Sprawled over an area of 8.35 acres and decked with over 1000 staff, this restaurant is known to serve around 5000 customers every day. And that’s not it! The variety of food served here is equally exaggerating spanning around 1000 pan-Asian dishes. Coming here is like plunging into a wave of spectacle with all the music, dance and martial arts performances performed here. Don’t be surprised to find a waiter or two flinging through the air or walking on water to get your orders, it is common place here.

6. Dans Le Noir, (In the dark)

It is a popular chain of a restaurant serving in three different cities- Paris, London and Moscow, and gaining recognition for its quirky albeit significant take on food culture. Established by an interesting duo- Edouard de Broglie and Etienne Boisrond who believe that the food is best consumed where all your senses are at play, the place offers a vast variety of food to its guests in a completely darkened room to have a blind dining experience. Even the staff hired are visually-impaired to back the concept. A much recommended for anyone who has never tried this before!

5. Cabbages and Condoms, Bangkok, Thailand

Bangkok has always been known for being over the top in whatever it throws at you. Food is no different either! Or at least not in Cabbages and Condoms. Appalling for some, quirky for many, dining in this uniquely themed restaurant can be one hell of an experience that is if you don’t mind being surrounded by condoms throughout your feed. There are dummies- all artistically dressed (any guess with what?), and then there are staff members serving you food while wearing ‘It’ on their heads. And as you leave the restaurant wondering what the hell was that, get ready to be offered some condoms instead of mint, because hey! who needs mint when you can have some latex?

4. The Safe House, Milwaukee

If it is the adventure that sails your boat then this is the place for you. The Safe House has been entertaining its guests since 1966 when the restaurant was forged as a wacky fun idea of its owner David J. Baldwin who shares an enormous love for spy and mystery. The fact can be seen in the collection of artefacts and decor along with its enticing range of spy-themed food that will just spike your hunger even more. But wait, if you think getting entrance to The Safe House is easy, you are wrong. You won't be getting in unless you crack the test to prove you are not a double agent. So, up for a challenge?

3. Grotta Palazzese, Polignano a Mare, Italy

Italy is all about elegance, beauty and fun and the restaurant of Grotta Palazzese resembles it perfectly. Despite being set up in a limestone cave, this sea-side restaurant is a much-revered dining destination among people who wish to spend some serene moments alone. It is not only the most romantic but the oldest as well, being in the picture since the 1700s. The food, hiked up with the local flavours and modern touch only adds to it. With stunning views, unique setting and over the top service, you will find yourself coming here again.

2. Bird’s Nest Restaurant, Soneva Kiri Eco Resort, Thailand

The name says it all! Just like a bird's nest perched high up in a tree, this little tree pod restaurant sits in a quaint location on one of the many trees in the Soneva Kiri Eco Resort of Thailand. The idea was to create a unique dining experience where the guests can relish their food while being hoisted up at least 16 feet above the ground. And the best part of it (besides the panoramic view of the surrounding of course!) is letting all those lip smacking food delivered to you by zip-lining waiters. It's crazy I know! Well as much as it is fun.

1. The Bubble Room, Captiva, Florida, USA

Enchanting, vibrant and all colourful, this is one restaurant in the world where the spirit of Christmas never ends. The place is decked up with toys, posters and candies from top to bottom and has been designed in a way that will throw you back in time when Christmas was all awaited and cherished. And while the range of food served here is enough to go gaga over, it's the desserts where the magic actually lies in. You would never know what it is like to taste heaven unless you have dug into some of those delicious cheesecakes!

“Expensive Good (Weird) Food” Review of Expedition

Photo of Expedition

Staff was awesome--friendly, helpful, made the experience fun. Live traditional music was nice, too. Food was exceptionally expensive (we shared three starters, one main course and one dessert--with 2 vodkas--and the total ended up $300) but was very tasty. Lots of unusual Siberian taste oportunities--raw frozen fish, elk, reindeer, horse...the list goes on and on. We had an absolutely wonderful time, but the cost would prevent me from returning.

This place has a particular atmosphere. Unfortunately the menu is not translated very good in english and staff was not very good in speaking it. We choosed two soups, one stroganina and one pelmeny and two beers. Total cost about 5000 rubles. Very expensive for me ! Food was particular and good even if not in large quantity.

fisrt thing which comes to my mind recalling this restaurant after a helicopter by the wall is crazy price tag! you should pay back all the expeditions and the decoration but not in such a way! nice service and quality food, but price kills it all. will hardly come back... ever...

This is my second visit and well worth the trip. It's a great restaurant with real warmth and a very interesting menu. This isn't conventional food and you certainly know you have eaten in a very special restaurant in Russia even if your not too sure what exactly you have eaten

Good things first: very friendly staff that knows what they have on the menu (not that usual in Moscow), great welcome, nice atmosphere in the restaurant with loads of little (or not so little) pieces of decoration from the expeditions. Nice choice on the menu with food that is so interesting, so out of the ordinary that it's hard to choose because I wanted to try most of the items they had on the menu. What we got was, without exception, very tasty, cooked with great knowledge and thoroughly enjoyable. Beverage selection also very nice. Why am I not giving it 5 out of 5? It's - as others have commented before - about the price. Expedicia is very expensive. That's no reason to rate it badly because the food and the experience is great, but prices are, even for Moscow standards, slightly 'out of this world'. It really was a nice experience, but I am not sure if I would go back ...

Boston Dynamics unveils new Atlas robot for commercial use

Boston Dynamics unveiled Wednesday a new version of its humanoid robot, “Atlas,” that the company says is “designed for real-world applications.”

Like many of its previous announcements, the company released a video of its robot in action.

The company is moving full steam (or spark) ahead with its new fully electric iteration of Atlas, and retiring its previously hydraulic-powered model.

At the core of the transition is Boston Dynamics' partnership with Hyundai — which the company credits for aiding in, "building the next generation of automotive manufacturing capabilities," according to Boston Dynamics' s blog post .

"In the months and years ahead, we’re excited to show what the world’s most dynamic humanoid robot can really do — in the lab, in the factory, and in our lives," read the company's blog .

However, beyond the nuts and bolts of the robot's new design, the release left many on social media sputtering with skepticism. Some users on X likened the launch of Atlas to something out of James Cameron's iconic post-apocalyptic "Terminator" franchise.

"It’s giving 'call an ambulance ... but not for me,'" joked tech YouTuber Marques Brownlee .

Electric Atlas robot

The original Atlas robot can be seen on Boston Dynamic's website performing a range of tasks , including lifting objects and even busting out dance moves.

The company said that its new electric model breaks new ground.

"The electric version of Atlas will be stronger, with a broader range of motion than any of our previous generations," the company said in a statement. "Our last generation hydraulic Atlas (HD Atlas) could already lift and maneuver a wide variety of heavy, irregular objects; we are continuing to build on those existing capabilities and are exploring several new gripper variations to meet a diverse set of expected manipulation needs in customer environments."

Boston Dynamics is among the most advanced robotics companies in the world, with some of its machines already doing jobs industrial jobs and working for police departments .
