Tour de Romandie 2023 Route stage 1: Crissier - Vallée-de-Joux
The Tour de Romandie last visited Vallée-de-Joux seven editions ago. It was the starting venue of a team time trial that was won by Team Sky (now INOES Grenadiers) ahead of Orica GreenEdge (now BikeExchange Jayco). The valley is likely to see a sprint finish this year.
After setting off from Crissier the riders traverse undulating terrain before reaching a climb leading to an elevation of more then 1,000 metres. Right after the descent another climb begins. This is the last climb of the day and when the riders reach the tip there are still 50 kilometres remaining. Which should be enough for the sprint teams to escort their sprint leaders to the desired outcome – a bunch sprint.
The first three riders on the line gain time bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds.
