On-Campus Tours Our lively campus provides the perfect backdrop for your educational journey. Come, be inspired, and discover the Gryphon pride that lives in our community. We can’t wait to welcome you to our campus!
Campus tours run Monday through Friday (and some Saturdays) at 10:00 am and 1:30 pm Note: There are some exceptions including long weekends, so please make sure you have a reservation.
Your tour will be led by a current U of G student and will be approximately 2 hours in length as we show you all the highlights of campus.
Tours are general in nature, designed to include stops at notable campus landmarks, a lecture hall, athletic facilities, dining halls, the library, student residences and more!
Tours run in all weather conditions so please dress accordingly.
How to book:
- Review the calendar to the left and select an available date for your campus tour.
- Once you’ve selected a date, please choose one of the available tour times and click the link to open the registration form.
- Complete the registration form. If you require any accessibility accommodations, you will be prompted to email [email protected] .
- Once you click submit, you will see a confirmation page. You will also receive an email confirmation shortly after you’ve submitted the form.

Friday Afternoon Tours - 3:30 pm
Historical Walking Tour
Duration: 1 hour
Price: Free
Join us outdoors on a walk-through time as we tour the early history of the University of Guelph. Learn about the founding colleges and explore some of the university’s most iconic buildings on campus. The University of Guelph has a unique and exciting heritage, and we are excited to have you join us and share your stories.
Tour will leave from the Cannon (located along Winegard Walk) at 3:30 pm.

Arts Research Centre (ARC) Tour
Duration: 1
Explore the brand-new hub for music, theatre and improvisation at U of G. This new venue includes a 140-seat black box theatre, a 152-seat recital hall, and a new 160-seat performance lab for research in improvisation.
Tour will leave from the Cannon at 3:30 pm.
Guelph Turfgrass Institute Tour
Duration: 1.5 hours
Price: $10
Walk through the new state-of-the-art facility and learn about the research and e xtension work in turfgrass management at U of G.
Walking shoes are recommended. Transportation provided.Tour will leave from the Cannon at 3:15 pm.
Honey Bee Research Centre Tour
Learn about bee biology and their positive impact on that environment and our well-being, with a beekeeper demo and up-close view of honeycombs.
Transportation provided. Tour will leave from the Cannon at 3:15 pm.
Saturday Morning Tours - 9 am
Arboretum Walking Tour
Price: Free
Join us for a guided walk through the Arboretum's botanical collections and learn about research and conservation activities.
No rough terrain is involved but good walking shoes are recommended. Tour will leave from the Cannon at 8:50 am.
Walk through the new state-of-the-art facility and learn about the research and extension work in turfgrass management at U of G.
Walking shoes are recommended. Transportation provided. Tour will leave from the Cannon at 8:45 am.
The Honey Bee Research Centre tour will emphasize the biology of bees and the positive effect they have on both the natural environment and our well-being. The tour includes an outdoor demonstration of beekeepers working safely with bees and an up-close view of the bees and their honeycomb.
Transportation will be provided. Tour will leave from the Cannon at 8:45 am.
Elora Beef & Dairy Research Centre Tour
Duration: 2 hours
Get a behind-the-scenes look at the Research Beef and Dairy Facilities through an informative tour which will encompass all major areas of the facility.
You will need closed-toe shoes and clean clothes (i.e. clothes not worn on the farm). Shoe covers provided.
Transportation provided. Tour will leave from the Cannon at 8:20 am.
Saturday Afternoon Tours - 2:30 pm
Arboretum Tour
No rough terrain is involved but good walking shoes are recommended. Tour will leave from the Cannon at 2:20 pm.
Tour will leave from the Cannon at 2:30 pm.

Summer Residence
Community. Convenience. Connection. Join us in Summer Residence!
The 2024 Summer Residence application is now available through the Housing Portal . Summer students will be assigned to our East Village Townhouse community, our West Residence community, or one of our University Houses .
The residence fee for the full summer semester varies from $2300 - $2500 based on location, details can be found below. A deposit is not required when you apply for Summer Residence at this time.

Who is eligible for Summer Residence?
Summer Residence is available to students who are enrolled in summer courses, completing a co-op work term (on or off-campus), or working for Student Housing Services as summer student staff.
Applicants who do not meet these criteria may apply to stay on campus through our Summer Hostel , pending availability.

West Residence and University Houses: $2300
*Early arrival and late move-outs may be available to students currently living in residence at an additional daily charge. Please note that the above rates are subject to change.

May 7 - August 15, 2024
Summer semester move-in begins on May 7 (classes begin May 9). Check-out is the day after your last exam, with August 15, 2024, at noon as the final check-out date.

Admission Services is looking for enthusiastic students who love the University of Guelph and are looking for a fun and easy way to get involved on campus. Ambassadors assist Admission Services with on-campus special events held for prospective students. Ambassadors volunteer in a variety of ways including greeting visitors and directing them around campus and providing campus tours to groups of prospective students and parents.
What are the benefits of becoming an UoGA?
There are several benefits gained by becoming involved in the UoGA Program. Students gain more knowledge about the University of Guelph. Being involved with the UoGA program is a great volunteer experience and it looks great on a resume. UoGA's also receive a cool ambassador t-shirt to wear at special events.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 hours commitment per semester
- Must have good academic standing
- Attendance at training sessions is mandatory
