Best Times to Visit

If you’re not visiting during the regular season, you probably won’t have any issues with taking a tour of Yankee Stadium.

The Classic Tour runs from 11 am - 2 pm during the offseason and on days when there is no home game.

Tours run once every 20 minutes for a total of 10 hours per day. These tours can sell out quickly, so you may want to consider purchasing your tickets ahead of time.

NYC Travel Tips & Hacks Facebook Group

However, if you plan to come on a game day , tour hours will change depending on when the game starts.

Most day games at Yankee Stadium start at 1:05 pm or 4:05 pm and night games will start at about 7:05 pm .

The gates will officially open about 2 hours before the game starts on most game days.

Pre-game tours often start before the gates officially open, giving you an opportunity to see the ballpark before anyone else.

For more details, check our Yankee Stadium tours section .

What to Expect

If you decide to take a classic tour of Yankee Stadium, there’s no way of knowing exactly which route you will take.

The only thing you can be assured of is that your tour guide will take you to locations such as the New York Yankees Museum, Monument Park, the Press Box, and the Dugout.

Tourists are welcome to take photos as they are shown around the stadium.

How long is the Yankee Stadium Tour?

Each tour will take you about an hour to complete.

Visitors who are coming only for the tour can reasonably expect to be done with their trip within 60-90 minutes .

However, if you’re planning on seeing a game afterward, you should set aside another 2-3 hours.

With recent changes to the rules of MLB baseball, chances are it will be closer to 2 hours.

What time does Yankee Stadium open on game days?

On game days, Yankee Stadium will open to all ticket holders 90 minutes before the game begins.

If you want to get in as early as possible, make sure to consider a pregame tour!

What is the best way to tour Yankee Stadium?

There are both guided and self-guided tours, and both have their positives and negatives.

The answer to this question will depend on what kind of experience you want to have.

Where does the Yankee Stadium Tour start?

All tours begin at Gate 6 of Yankee Stadium, E 161st St and River Ave, Bronx, NY.

How do you get the Yankee Stadium Tour with the New York Pass?

If you have either the New York Pass or the Explorer Pass , you'll have access to the Yankee Stadium Tour at no additional cost.

At the moment, you can just present your pass at the gate and you'll be granted admission as long as there is space.

Are there any special Yankee Stadium Events?

Yes, during the offseason and extended periods of away games, Yankee Stadium concerts are actually quite common.

These are usually pretty big concerts with very well-known performers.

TOURS OF YANKEE STADIUM

There are three different types of tours that you can take at Yankee Stadium. Each tour provides a different service and focus.

Depending on the availability of certain areas in the ballpark, your tour guide may choose to take a different route from one day to the next.

Classic Individual Tour

This is the perfect option for a casual fan. The classic tour is affordable and shows you quite a bit of Yankee Stadium.

During baseball season, you will get to see the following locations:

  • New York Yankees Museum – which displays Yankee memorabilia ( watch this tour preview )
  • Monument Park – an open-air museum containing retired numbers of past greats, plaques, memorials

You will also get to see other sites depending on availability.

In the off-season, you will see all of the above with the possibility of visiting areas such as the press box, the dugouts, the warning track (the edge of the outfield), and the Legends Suite (the seats closest to the field) as well.

It is highly recommended that you book these tickets in advance.

Ticket Prices

  • $38 per person (when booked in advance, taxes not included)
  • Kids 4 and under are free.
  • Buy tickets online here .

TIP: Free for New York Pass and Explorer Pass holders. To learn more, click here .

Pregame Tour

If you already have tickets or plan to attend a game, but want a more immersive experience, this is a great option.

This tour visits Monument Park and the New York Yankees Museum before they open to the public.

It will also usually end in right field to watch batting practice and warm-ups before the game.

Please note that this tour does not include a ticket to the game.

  • Ticket Prices: $60.90 per person
  • Tour Hours: 3-4 hours before game time
  • Click here to purchase .

TIP 1: Viator occasionally offers a VIP Stadium Tour which includes lunch with a New York Yankee legend.

TIP 2: Pregame tours taking place before 1:05 pm games provide early access to the ballpark.

Pregame 'Glimpse of Greatness' Stadium Tour

In addition to the standard Pregame Stadium Tour offered at Yankee Stadium, there is also a self-guided option that might be preferable to some guests.

This tour is an excellent choice for anyone who wants to get early access to the stadium.

As with the standard Pregame Tour, you'll also have access to notable locations such as Monument Park, The Great Hall, Judge's Chambers, and Section 105 where you can see batting practice.

This tour does not include a ticket to the game, and you will need tickets to take a pregame tour.

  • Ticket Price: $35 per person (taxes not included)

TIP: These tours can start as early as 9 am on some game days.

Hands on History

When it comes to both the classic tour and the pregame tours, reviewers tend to take issue with the fact that their guides don’t often spend a lot of time in the Yankees Museum.

If you want to ensure that you’ll be able to see more in the museum, this Hands on History experience will be a must.

Guests who go on this tour will have the opportunity to actually touch and hold several famous New York Yankees artifacts.

Here are just a few of the items you may be allowed to hold during this trip:

  • Babe Ruth bat from 1922-1923
  • Mickey Mantle's game-worn jersey from 1963
  • Babe Ruth's 1927 World Series ring
  • Derek Jeter jersey from his 3,000th hit game
  • Home plate from the final game at Old Yankee Stadium and the first game at the present stadium

Needless to say, this is a pretty unique experience that die-hard Yankees fans should definitely consider.

However, there are only a few Hands-On History tours offered every month, so it will be important to plan any trip to NYC around this if you plan on attending.

Ticket Prices: $133.50 per person

Hands on History Tour Dates:

  • May 28th at 10:15 am
  • June 10th at 4:15 pm
  • June 25th at 10:15 pm
  • July 8th at 9:45 pm
  • July 22nd at 9:45 pm

Dugouts

This is a great chance to discover a location that few will ever get to see up close.

Warning Track

Some tour guides may choose to take you to the edge of the outfield.

This is where the outfield grass ends and outfielders have only moments to stop before hitting the wall.

Legends Suite

These are the seats closest to the field, and they are typically reserved for special guests.

As a result, few people ever have the chance to see this area of the park.

If you're lucky, you might get to visit the Legends Suite on your tour!

If you're trying to figure out where to eat before or after the tour, and you want something quick, some recommend just grabbing some hot dogs from a street vendor.

To be honest, it's not a bad idea, especially if you're not interested in the Hard Rock Cafe.

Yankee Stadium Tour Review: Exploring an Iconic NYC Landmark - New York City Article

Yankee stadium tour review: exploring an iconic nyc landmark follow @nyccitiview.

The iconic Yankee stadium represents a perfect example of eternal memorabilia. It is not only a great keeper of coveted memories associated with America’s favorite pastime; it also stands for history, loyalty and commitment.

Even though the current stadium is relatively young, it has remained forever true to its predecessor and rich history. Many of the design elements of the original stadium have been replicated in its new incarnation.

Yankee Stadium Tours: Getting Up Close to History!

Exciting insights about the very beginnings of the iconic team and its players can be found on a tour of Yankee Stadium itself. The New York Yankees Museum presented by Bank of America offers a unique addition to an already intriguing day of exploration.

Here, there’s an opportunity to see a well-preserved display of signed baseballs from great Yankees players, hailing from every era of the team’s history, as well as uniforms and gear from classic Yankees favorites. Babe Ruth’s notched bat, commemorating several home runs the legendary player hit during the 1927 season, is on display, as well as belongings from the retired # 4, Lou Gehrig, #5, Mickey Mantle and a long list of others.

In honor of the late catcher and team Captain Thurman Munson, his locker was sealed and kept in the same condition he last used it prior to his untimely death in 1979. It was transferred to the new stadium from the old one in the same manner. Nowadays, we can even witness a comparison between the locker design then, and the fancy spaces the players get to use now, which are equipped with latest trends and technology.

Exploring Yankee Stadium:

We stopped at Monument Park on our way to view the playing field and saw the retired numbers from other Yankee greats throughout the team’s history. Derek Jeter’s #2 is now proudly on display and the most recent number to be retired.

yankee stadium locker room tour

The Yankee Stadium Tour also provides a magnificent overview of the vast playing field itself, and is truly a very unique opportunity to witness the stadium in complete, almost sacred silence. It is also interesting to mention that the immense space of Yankee Stadium is not only used for baseball, but it has also been a proud host of several other sporting and organized events, as well as concerts, since it opened in 2009.

My Lucky Day!

The third and final stop on the tour is either the Yankees dugout or the Press Box. Both sites offer unique and exclusive views of the Stadium that you cannot get access to anywhere else. Lucky for me, we got to go to the dugout on my recent tour! While in the dugout it’s almost as if you can feel the rush of the breathless players, cheers of the excited crowd and the overwhelming emotional swings of the coaches.

Yankee Stadium is truly a unique place that represents a proud and well-documented legacy. It’s a place that pays homage to talent and devotion, and welcomes those who recognize it. The field is one of the core pieces of NYC history and one of its eternal pillars, holding many of the city’s greatest stories to tell for decades to come.

Stadion FK Krasnodar – stadium description

First ever own stadium for just-established team FC Krasnodar was commissioned in 2011 by billionaire Sergei Galitsky. The project was awarded to SPeeCH, who earlier delivered smaller facilities for the club. This Russian office benefitted from international cooperation with greats like GMP Architekten and Schlaich Bergermann & Partners. The outcome is a clear, simple and elegant form resembling the Roman Coliseum.

With oval footprint, the stadium rises to 42.8 meters, nearly equaling the height of 17-floor blocks erected simultaneously just north of the building. South of the stadium a large public park was planned as an extension of stadium plaza. East side neighbours with FC Krasnodar’s football academy, while the west is the main façade fans are expected to see.

And it’s quite some façade! From the covered turnstiles, through a vast landscaped plinth, to the very Coliseum-alike colonnade, the stadium is thought-through in every detail. While it’s concrete as usual deep down, all of the main structure is clad with Italian stone and metal, creating a striking visual effect.

Once fans reach the colonnade, they’re already at the top of the auditorium’s lower tier. There are two floors below them (largely used for underground parking) and two above them. The seating bowl itself is very compact, able to hold 34,000 people. Initial announcements suggested an expansion option would be included, but that did not happen.

The emphasis is on comfort, thus the high-end furnishings. Even the concrete beneath individual seats is painted, getting darker towards the highest rows. This way it almost blends with the stadium’s signature feature, the world’s first panoramic stadium screen, covering over 4,800 m2 between fans and the roof. The surface makes it Europe’s largest by far and enables the creation of unique atmosphere during events.

Above the auditorium there’s a roof like you’ve seen at many stadia created by GMP and SBP. Except that this one is the first cable and membrane roof to have giant heaters mounted beneath it, assuring that fans are warm even during harsh winters in Krasnodar.

The stadium offers 82,000 m2 of floor space, a lot of which is used to provide 249 parking bays underneath the stands. Another major part is used for corporate hospitality as business seats are spread through all four stands. There are 21 private boxes (and a 22nd large presidential one) and a total of 3,197 business seats.

Due to the use of expensive stock and advanced technologies, the stadium proved very expensive. It was estimated by Galitsky that it consumed over RUB 20 billion ($316 million upon handover on Sept 30, 2016).
