This tour was by far one of the most amazing experiences of my life. This was my first time travelling to a Southeast Asian country by myself but I felt safe and welcomed the entire time. I enjoyed observing beautiful rice terraces, meeting friendly village people, and learning lots about Ifugao culture from my tour guide. The opportunity to stay in a guest house in one of the small villages gave me the chance to truly appreciate the simplistic life of the village people. My tour guide, Marvin Bunaton was a wonderful guide to have. He gave me lots of valuable information about Ifugao culture and made sure I was safe the entire time. I am very lucky to have had him as a tour guide. I recommend this trip to everyone who loves hiking and beautiful sceneries! If I ever come back to the Philippines, I will bring my loved ones and do this tour all over again!

Although my trek was very challenging, I enjoyed every bit of it. My tour guide Jonathan was an amazing companion throughout my tour making me feel at home. Would definitely recommend it this tour of Banaue, Batad etc

We had some disruption to our water activities due to high waves in Palawan, but Ian and Michael pivoted the activities so they were still fun and engaging. When I found information about this tour to Sagada and Banaue online, it already had such high reviews, but after experiencing the tour for myself, I would rate it even higher! This trip, guided by the wonderful Zohan, is extremely unique in large part due to the personal touches, stories, and intentional cultural experiences Zohan added to the itinerary. Though the tour is listed for all ages, I would specifically recommend for those ages 18-50 or so. There is quite a bit of hiking, walking, an overnight bus both ways, and lots of carrying of luggage. To participate in this trip, one must be eager to learn, open-minded to experience other cultures, and physically fit.

We explored the enchanting underground river in Puerto Princesa to unwinding on the pristine beaches of El Nido and its hidden lagoons, every activity was filled with awe and wonder. This was an amazing 10 day tour of the Palawan islands in the Philippines. Starting at Puerto Prinsesa we journeyed up north through El Nido to Coron. Visiting must see locations with breathtaking views, it truly is an experience of a lifetime. The food was amazing and greatly exceeded all expectations, and our tour guide Jovian was excellent. He was so friendly and lively, doing his best to accommodate everyone, and make sure everything runs smoothly. He was very supportive of me and went above and beyond when I had an unfortunate injury at one of the beaches we went to. Overall the trip wouldn’t have been the same without him, he was one of the many highlights on this tour.

Team Violet was incredible!!! The tour was beyond any expectations and the crew, especially Jerome and Paul, were so attentive, warm and funny. The food was soooo yummy and I missed the chef’s cooking once I left! Plenty of food to choose from and they accomodated to all dietary requirements. The islands were stunning and loved our fire on the beach to get to know each other more. Our tour group ended up making a WhatsApp group chat after all of our bonding together and I think our strong bond was due to Team Violets efforts to make us feel safe, happy and cared for! 5 Stars!!!

Pre-travel email and mobile phone communication with both Tour Radar and Sturmfrei Travel and Tours was timely and responsive, and they were able to effectively manage my travel requirements and interests. Throughout the tour the Sturmfrei Travel and Tours guides and driver took great care to ensure the planned itinerary went ahead and met my expectations. Ultimately, though, the tour actually exceeded my expectations in so many ways: the region's amazing natural beauty was enhanced even further by both the Sturmfrei and local guides' general knowledge of Philippine culture and history, the Sturmfrei guides' efforts in ensuring my safety and enjoyment of the various physical activities I participated in, and my introduction to local Filipino foods and delicacies. Best time to visit philippines.

With a year-round warm climate, expect hot weather when visiting the Philippines at any time of the year. Sea breezes prevail in the coastal regions between November and February, so travel during this time if you wish to take the edge off the heat. January to May are considered the optimum times to visit though, as it is best to avoid the typhoon season which runs from July to October and involves heavy rain, flooding and high winds.

Geography and environment

Consisting of more than 7,000 islands, the Philippines archipelago is located in the South-East of Asia , in between the South China Sea and the Philippine Sea. Being a part of the Pacific Ring of Fire, the Philippines is home to many active volcanoes and a staggering amount of biodiversity, with thousands of plant, mammal, fish and bird species living on land and in the sea. As a very mountainous country, the Philippines is dotted with numerous peaks, which give way to deep valleys that are often studded with rivers and streams. Tropical rainforest occupies much of the landmass, with most of the population living on the low lying coastal areas.

With a history that dates all the way back to 1210, this flamboyant festival is considered one of the Philippines' best. Think massive ostentatious costumes, loud drumming, floats of parading dancers, riotous crowds and a healthy dose of partying and you've got Ati-Atihan - the Philippines' best shot at Rio Carnaval.

2. Grand Cordillera Festival

Baguio reserves the fourth last week of November to celebrate life and local culture with ethnic songs, dance, costume and food. This festival spreads peace and tolerance and provides an interesting snapshot of the lives of the ethnic people of the northern Luzon area.

3. Dinagyang

Iloilo City gets its chance to party with its own version of Ati-Atihan. City streets are decked out with colourful banners, street stalls sizzle with barbecued pork, and chicken and costumed dancers compete for glory.

Land Arrangements Packages - These are travel services that are availed by guests upon landing in the destination. These Include accommodation, airport / seaport to hotel or resort transfers and tours as indicated in the itinerary. Flights or means of transportation to and from the destination is not included in the rate.

Private Tours - These tour packages include means of transportation to the destination, accommodations, and tours as indicated in the itinerary. Unlike the Fixed Departures packages, these are available throughout the year.
