Bajaj Avenger 220 Street Is Coming Back - Here Are The Quick Details

Bajaj Avenger 150 Review

Quick review by maxabout team.

The Bajaj Avenger finally gets a younger member for a wider audience with the launch of new Avenger Street 150. The perfect partner for a city cruiser, the motorcycle gets a really different approach from all the others on the launch list for the festive season. Even being on the lowest step of the Avenger family, the new Street 150 has its genuinely different identity with an impressive hold on a viewer's eye. The iconic Street design on a cruiser bike for a perfect head turning experience has been given to the new Avenger 150 Street. Its street control handlebar makes excellent city riding experience. The black finished alloy wheels on 150 Street and Midnight Blue body shade makes it look heavenly good. The long wheelbase, wide rear tyre and new semi-digital instrument console make it the best option in its segment.

The design of the new Street 150 basically stays the same as the last generation of Avenger 220. The same has been altered with the Street nameplate and a perfectly matching color to the identity has been provided to the Street 150. It gets the same dark treatment on all the parts where chrome used to rule in the earlier version. The short sporty exhaust looks more than perfect and the bike is an excellent example of street-based cruiser bikes. The Bajaj Avenger 150 Street measures 2177 mm in length, 801 mm in width and 1070 mm in height. It comes with a wheelbase of 1480 mm and gets a nice 169 mm of ground clearance. The bike weighs 148 kg.

The same instrument console as the old Avenger 220 has been used on Street 150 but with a small digital display for the odometer and the trip meter. The chrome parts stay black whereas the upper ring of the single handlebar mounted pod has been kept chrome. The fuel gauge and other indicators have been placed on the fuel tank. The most noticeable change on the young Avenger is its engine capacity. It gets a 149cc engine producing 14.3 BHP @ 9,000 rpm and 12.5 NM @ 6,500 rpm. The gearbox on the same is a 5-speed unit. The DTS-i motor has been used in a lower state of tune whereas the new generation of 150 cc engine produces 16.8 BHP from the same displacement. The 150 Street gets an approximate top speed of 100-105 kmph. The approx. mileage is 40-45 kmpl in city traffic conditions and 45-50 kmpl on highway. The low seat position makes the bike a comfortable riding machine for both types of roads.

Looking nearly identical to the other Avengers in terms of dimensions, the new Street 150 gets a relatively small 240 mm disc brake for the front and 130 mm of drum brake for the rear. The tyre size has been kept quite huge by using 90/90-17 for the front and 130/90-15 for the rear. The bike gets the same telescopic forks and hydraulic shock absorbers like its earlier Avenger cousin. The Avenger Street 150 is as comfortable as its elder siblings. All the Avengers share most of their parts, making each of them promising for a comfortable and easy ride. Being Street focused, the baby Avenger loses the rear backrest and the front windshield. It gets the same cushioned seats and brings no harm to your back while on tiring city rides. Its low seat height facilitates easy manoeuvrability and keeps the riders safe all the time.

Bajaj has made the Street 150 as the most beautiful and youngster oriented motorcycle from the series. Its Midnight Blue shade easily fades many of the high capacity motorcycles and makes it look the best out of all. The Avenger family can now finally focus on all the age segments of bike riders and cruiser lovers. 150 Street has no other alternative in its segment and comes as the ultimate 150cc cruiser for the Indian market. Its color scheme and dark theme make it the best looking Avenger out of all. Rest depends upon the likes of a rider, but Bajaj has finally pushed it beyond an average cruiser segment motorcycle.

Mechanic at the service center looks inexperienced as he cannot even fix the pickup problem. Most buyers are facing the same problem

Best Features: Looks only

Pros: Looks only

Cons: Pickup is the worst ever experience

Worn out parts within 500 KMs

In my experience, and service engineers (k v motors, Kozhikode) direction, within 500Kms of running ,right hand gasket cover ( dh 101154) is worn out. while running how many times i change all these parts. So think twice before purchasing street 150. I complaint to their Email from my mail , No reply from their. So my humble request is to avoid Bajaj.

Totally Actual Review About Best Cruiser Bike Under 1 Lac Budget

Version Reviewed - Avenger street 150 Purchased As - Brand new (01-01-2016) Distance Covered - 5538 Km till date (26-28-2016) Fuel Economy - 50 kmpl (Totally run in city traffic) Good - Looks, performance, handling, comfort, safety. Bad - No rear disc brake. No kick. I purchased my brand new avenger 150 street in 1st jan 2016 and till date I already clocked It around 5500 km done total running in Kanpur city Only. Exterior Aggressive front look and cool side look although rear tyre is small but decent could use a day light running lamp. Engine Performance: 14 PS power is good you can feel it when you accelerate it easily takes pick up (Not great as Apache, Gixxer) but even after you have reached triple speed figure effortless easy to drive in traffic and fun to cruise on highway. I tested the top speed of my avenger 150 twice on highway. at first it clock 112 km/hr and after second service it clocks at 115 km/hr. Fuel Economy: This is the best feature of this bike. and the only reason to submit my review also. before 1st service I got an average of around 35 kmpl in city. after 1st service mileage increased to 40-45 kmpl. But after 2nd service it reached to 55 kmpl in the hard city traffic. Guys believe me currently it giving me a healthy 55 kmpl mileage in a tight city traffic. I also tested mileage 3 times after 2nd service from reserve to reserve I take 100 rs fuel each time and my bike covered 78km, 81km, 80km on the three testing while the price of petrol in Kanpur is 65 Rs/ltr. Ride Quality & Handling: Ride Quality is very good you don't get tired even after long city driving. Handling is very good very reactive and cornering can be done with confidence. only the turning radius is too large compare to other. it creates some problem in city traffic. Final Words: Overall a very very good package for a fair price deal under the 1 lac segment.

Best Features: Look, comfort, mileage, uniqueness

Pros: Looks, ride comfort, mileage

Cons: No disc brake in rear wheel, no kick, no storage

Solid & Hardcore

I bought the Avenger 150 model last week. The bike as a whole is absolutely fantastic. I found the short pick-up to be a bit less, but that's not what you are looking for in this bike, & in no way that is a disadvantage. Comfort level, top notch .. balance, top notch. Also, the problem with a big turning radius owing to much wider handle-bar for the Cruise model has been largely taken care of in the Street models. In short, if you want to go for speed, you have the Pulsars .. for everything else, you have the Avengers.

Best Features: Suspension, comparatively lighter chassis, back wheel-base.

Pros: Power, comfort, balance.

Cons: Absence of kick.

Totally very good. But only colour where I disappointed. Bike has amazing seat comfort and looks. While riding the bike really I feel like king.

Best Features: Seating Position

Pros: Amazing Looks

Cons: I expected more colours but only colour in Street 150 which makes me nervous

Bajaj Avenger 150 Comments

Please don't buy Bajaj Avenger 150cc street. the worst bike I have ever ride. Before completing one year it has so many problems including ignition (I have to push the bike to start). I bought it cash now m going to sell it for 50000 only. I just want to get rid of it. I swear I will not buy any Bajaj product in my life.

2015 Bajaj Avenger 150 Street road test review

The Bajaj Avenger when launched, was billed as the poor man's Harley-Davidson. Its low slung cruiser stance, decent 180cc engine and Bajaj's killer pricing made it a sweet deal back then. Bajaj kept upgrading the powertrains, that were lifted off the Pulsars, but sales of the Avengers hit a ceiling and it was about time that Bajaj looked at upgrading the Avenger. What Bajaj has done instead is diversified the Avenger line up into the Cruise and Street, and the base Avenger Street 150 that you see here is aimed squarely at those who want a cruiser without busting the bank.

Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise (1)

The Bajaj 150cc Avenger is only available in the Street trim and at first glance it bears a striking resemblance to the Harley-Davidson Street 750 . While the body panels are similar to the Avenger Street 220 and Cruise, the Bajaj Avenger Street 150  gets gloss paint all over with decals on the tank and a stripe that runs from the front fender to the tail section. The housing for the tell tale lights that sits on the tank is finished in matte black. The other bits that get the black treatment include the suspension units, instrument pod, mirrors and rear grab rail. The blacked out handlebar is nearly flat and lower than that on the Avenger Cruise 220 .

Bajaj Avenger 150 Street (18)

What's annoying though, is the location of the tell tale lights. With your head up while riding, only the instrument pod lies in your field of vision which means you have to look down to confirm if you have activated or cancelled the indicators and that means taking your eyes off the road for that split second.

Bajaj Avenger 150 Street (4)

The seat's foam thickness has been increased which in turn has increased seat height by 15mm to 725mm. The seat felt comfy and my large derriere was easily accommodated.

Bajaj Avenger 150 Street (16)

But there's a glaring design flaw with the Bajaj Avenger Street 150 and that's with the handlebar, footpeg and seat positioning. Bajaj, in their attempt at making the motorcycle suitable for urban environs, have pushed the handlebar a tad too far away from the rider. If you sit within the contours of the seat and place your legs on the foot rest, you'd have to stretch a bit to reach the handlebar, and to put things in perspective, my height is 5'11". Also, the Avengers Street and Cruise have the same rake and trail and similar footpeg position which adds to the discomfort.

Continuing to ride in such a position puts strain on your lower back and shoulders, which result in aches after a while. The best compromise is to sit slightly closer to the tank but that makes your spine upright and again the discomfort kicks in. Ideally, the handlebar should have been placed slightly closer to the rider to offer better riding ergonomics. Other bits that I did not like were the silver matte finished heat shields on the exhaust pipe. They are poorly finished and in fact the same bits in chrome on the Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220  look far better and will certainly last longer.

Bajaj Avenger 150 Street (12)

The engine is the gem here and Bajaj have done a fabulous job of re-configuring the Pulsar 150's engine for the Avenger Street 150. It is smooth and refined across the rev range and the vibrations in the footpegs are far lesser than the Avenger Cruise 220 . It develops 14.5PS@9,000rpm and 12.5Nm@6,500rpm. It gets the larger air filter from the Bajaj Pulsar 220 which results in a 10 per cent hike in torque over the Pulsar 150. The low and mid-range is the engine's strong point and considering the urban riding focus of this Avenger, the power delivery is just as required. Slicing through traffic is a breeze and I had to rarely downshift to pull quick overtakes. Out on the highway, the engine is not buzzy at high speeds and cruising at 80-90kmph is possible without complaint. 0-60kmph was dispatched in 9.4 seconds and we recorded a top speed of 102kmph. When we rode it solo, the power felt sufficient but we feel the engine may feel a bit out of breath in case you load some luggage and carry a pillion up a ghat section. In the city, the Avenger managed 61.4kmpl and that figure climbed to 68.25kmpl on the highway.

Bajaj Avenger 150 Street (8)

The previous Avenger was prone to bottoming out over bumpy roads, especially with a pillion and Bajaj have changed the second spring rate in the rear suspension in the new Avenger to address this issue as well as to increase the load bearing capacity of the motorcycle. Ride quality over bad roads is impressive and the suspension did not bottom out over the harshest of bumps. Now, the Avenger is not a corner carver but it's surefooted around a bend with the MRFs on 17-inch front and 15-inch rear alloy wheels offering decent grip. The brakes are sharp with good progression and offer good feedback The Avenger 150 Street gets 240mm discs at the front and the unit is in fact, better than the one on the Avenger Street 220/Cruise  (see table below).

Bajaj Avenger Street 150 review

Bajaj Avenger 150 Street (9)

The Bajaj Avenger Street 150 has a lot going for it. Its styling resembles the bigger cruisers in the market. The engine is its hallmark and the smooth nature is what adds to the calm riding experience that cruisers ought to deliver. The dark stealth theme of the Avenger Street 150  is in line with modern times and the interests of the target age group (25-35 years). The riding position is a bit of an issue and we feel that swapping the handlebar with the one on the Avenger 220 Cruise can cure the problem. The immediacy of steering and flickability in the city may reduce and it certainly won't be cumbersome to ride. At Rs 87,194 on-road Mumbai, the prospect of a cruiser at the price of a regular 150cc motorcycle makes the Avenger 150 Street an interesting proposition.

Bajaj Auto India launches the Avenger Cruise 220, Street 220 at Rs 84,000, and the Avenger Street 150 at Rs 75,000

I love this bike at this range as it is a classic Cruiser but lacks at digital speedometer and mileage and chain sound is horrible sometimes if you can't lube it for a while and the looks are awesome but it could also have liquid cool or oil cooling system because it also heats up while you are on high speeds.

Hello,I am using bajaj avenger 150 in new delhi from last 2 years, but i have made a bike service from giri automobile, khajoori khas, karawal nagar road, delhi at 14/09/2018. After that service, my bike is not running smoothly, the bike has stopped suddenly while i driving. It's very dangerous to me and other people. And the major problem is my bike is not giving me proper mileage (it gives around less than 30 km/per litre). That is very terrible to me. I had gone two times in service center, but the problem has not solved. I am very disappointing from bajaj service.

The buying experience was good and easy because I booked it through the bike wale app. The riding experience is also good. It's a very comfortable bike to ride. The best option for daily commute. Performance is also great. It gives 45 mileage on the highway and 40 in the city. Service is also very pocket friendly. Pros: it's a pocket-friendly bike for daily commuting. Service cost is also cheap. Cons: it's a quite long bike, so sometimes it's difficult to take a U-turn. Since it's a 150 cc bike the power is not enough. Overall it's a good bike for daily commutes if you want comfort on a budget.

Stylish looks low maintenance cost enough power with comfortable riding.

1. I used to own pulsar 150 before this (5 years) i always wanted to buy a cruise bike but couldn't afford it, and when avenger street came, i bought it that month itself. Classy and sexy look with good maintenance cost.2. Unlike other bikes, i personally find it perfect even for long ride. There in no tension on the wrist, and back.3. Look wise i would say its just too eye catching. I personally like the styling of the bike, the side profile of the bike looks just too stunning.4. I don't know about other place but so far so good for servicing, its just that some mechanic at the service center are not trained well, sometimes they can't even detect small wiring problems. After buying for about a year it didn't gave me any problems at all except the battery which went bad in 3-4 months, i had to push and start before getting new battery other than that no major changes except engine oil and brake.5. I would say this bike is affordable with low cost maintenance, unlike those other cruiser bike it won't make a hole in our pocket, the styling is good, comfortable riding, good mileage. Cons: i would say the battery which went bad just about 3-4 months, i don't know how or why. And the chain sprocket needs to be taken care of frequently or else it makes noise easily, but that's not big issue for we can do ourselves at home.

Extra Features

Take care of the chain sprocket timely, no need to change it when it makes sound, just clean it well with kerosene and brush(e.g tooth brush) after that let it try and apply chain lubricant if u have or engine oil/greese. As a bike owner you must all know that we should change Oil before too long . So it doesn't mean if u changed your oil just few months ago, but u have driven more than 3-4K KM , change oil.

Good looking , stylish , comfortable and money worthy bike with good mileage. Big fuel tank helps to go for long drives. At Least 3.5 litre reserve in tank which indicates good sign, if you are approximately 170 km away from fuel station then also no worries. A wonderful journey was made with this bike .

10000-15000 kms

Comfortable, stylish, balanced with good mileage.

The new Bajaj Avenger motorcycle range has registered its highest-ever sales in February, 2016. Bajaj Auto’s President of Finance, Kevin D’Souza, has confirmed that the new Bajaj Avenger cruiser range has garnered over 31,000 units of sales in the previous month (i.e. February). In December 2015, the Bajaj Avenger Street 150 recorded an average sales of 10,000 units per month. Despite being a risk of cannibalization with the Pulsar 150, the Avenger’s 150cc model done well, and contributed 40% of total sales of the new Avenger models. The Avenger 150 was launched the Street 220 and Cruiser 220 in October that collectively registered a totals sales average of 15,000 units per month. While the Street 220 and Cruiser 220 are priced at Rs. 84,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the entry-level Bajaj Avenger Street 150 is being offered at Rs. 75,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Best of Moscow by high speed train

Sure would appreciate someone who has taken "Best of Moscow by high speed train" from St. Petersburg could please share their impressions of this shore excursion. From the description this sounds like a very long day.

Wondering how the 4 hour train trip was in terms of accommodations, etc. Also what time did you leave the ship and what time at night did you return? Were both legs of the trip on the high speed rail (I read that slower trains also travel the same tracks)?

My wife and I are considering this excursion. We thought that if we are making all the effort to go to Russia then how could we pass up going to Moscow, walking in Red Square, seeing St. Basil, etc.

If you are considering this on the 2015 June Baltic cruise on Voyager; my suggestion is don't. There is so much to do in St. Petersburg and although a train is one of my favorite ways to travel the time would be far better spent in St. P.

Thanks for the advice. Yes, this would be on the Voyager during the 2015 season but not yet sure exactly which cruise.

We did the Moscow excursion "on a different luxury line", but from your brief description it sounds very much like the same trip, so I will operate on that assumption. It is a VERY long day! We left the ship at 5:30 AM and returned at 12:30 AM. The highspeed train trip is comfortable, and while they call it "Business Class" it does not compare well to the equivalent class on say Rail Europe. When we did it in 2011, we did have highspeed both ways, and the trip back seemed much longer as the adrenaline and excitement had worn off!:D

Moscow itself is not that terribly different from any other big city in the world, but this Cold War kid never thought he would ever stand in Red Square, never mind walk the grounds of The Kremlin, or tour The Kremlin Palace, or see (but not visit) Lenin's Tomb, or visit The Armoury. But he did, and he loved every minute of it! Yes, it is a long day, and you barely scratch a scratch on the surface, but it is worth it. There is a tremendous amount to see in St. Petersburg, but every Baltic cruise goes to St. Petersburg, so you can go back if you choose to. Not every cruiseline offers you the chance to see Moscow.

I have not personally done this tour, but our last time in St Petersburg, the private guide that we hired for a day was leading the regent tour to Moscow on the high speed train the next day. He said it was way better than the previous alternative, which was flying to Moscow and back. He said that you actually got to Moscow faster because you didn't have to deal with airline checkin etc. it did seem like a very long day to me, and there is so much to see and do in st. Petersburg that I didn't consider doing it.

We toured to Moscow from St. Petersburg via the hi-speed SAPSAN train last September, from a Baltic cruise on the Oceania Marina. You need to have a two-night, three day port call in St. Petersburg to take this tour because the tour typically leaves the ship around 5:00 - 5:30 AM and doesn't return until after midnight the next day. We didn't take the ship's tour; we made private arrangements with TravelAllRussia for three days of touring, the first and third days in St. Petersburg and the second day the tour to Moscow by train. Our cost for the private tour for three days was about the same as what the ship charged for the excursion to Moscow alone. There are a number of private tour agencies that operate in St. Petersburg and offer the Moscow train tours; we would strongly recommend them over the ship's tours.

All three days had private guides with car and driver. The second day, the driver picked us up at the ship and took us to the train, but we were alone on the train, and met in Moscow by the guide on the station platform. After our tour and dinner, we were brought back to the train and after the return train trip met by the driver and taken back to the ship. Because you are alone on the train you must have your own Russian visas.

If this is your first visit to St. Petersburg, I would agree there is much more to see there. We found Moscow somewhat a disappointment, particularly Red Square. The Kremlin and the cathedral in Red Square were also worth seeing. But the best thing we saw was the Moscow subway! I worked for the Washington Metro system back in the 1980s as it grew from 40 to 80 miles and although I was in the computer area, I learned a lot about the challenges of running a subway system. We used the Moscow system to get across the city from where we had dinner to the train station, and I was amazed at the cleanliness', speed of operation, the short headways maintained, and the courtesy of everyone involved. A very impressive experience!

We had been to St. Petersburg before, and so had the time to take a day and go to Moscow. Also, I really like trains, and the SAPSAN is a German train set running on Russian rails. Seats are like first class domestic air, spacious but not too plush or comfortable, but with enough room. Not too much recline, and almost 8 hours on the train in two shots is a lot for an old man. They come through and sell drinks, candy, etc. but the sellers don't speak English and no one around us helped, so we had just poor coffee once coming, and brought stuff with us for the trip back. Not too much to see from the train either, particularly on the return when it is night the whole way.

If you decide to go, take a private tour and avoid the overly expensive ship's tour. I'm glad we did it, but wouldn't bother to repeat the tour; we've seen Moscow.

Thanks so much to all of you for the thorough and thought insight. Yhe information you have provided is most helpful.

countflorida: Your detailed post is very helpful. We are not quite ready for a Baltic cruise but should do so within a year. Time enough to do our pre travel research, bookings and visa gathering.:) Thank you!

I did this on Seabourn. IMO DONT. Take Aeroflop (er Aeroflot). The train has non folding seats where you are literally knee to knee with your fellow passenger (facing each other). Further they don't believe in air conditioning. It's also the worlds slowed bullet train. I think I would have found more enjoyment wandering around the St. Petersburg and Moscow airports.

Countflorida,

This is a little off topic,, however we had planned a river cruise in Russia but decided we would rather stay on land and have booked about two weeks with Travel-All-Russia using the private guide and driver. I'm curious as to how you found them as a tour company.

The guides they provided were fine. We had a different guide each of the days in St. Petersburg, but both were flexible, pleasant, knowledgeable and spoke English very well, as did the guide in Moscow, incidentally. She was a bit aloof, distant, not too friendly, but otherwise fine. In fact, she was the one who suggested taking the Metro, which unexpectedly became one of the highlights of the Moscow excursion. If I have a complaint with AllTravelRussia, it is with their plan and its execution (more later).

I had requested emphasis on World War II (in Russia, the Great Patriotic War) sites and info. In scheduling us, they weren't careful about dates and a couple of the sites we wanted to see were scheduled on the third day, after we'd been to Moscow. But both sites were closed that day of the week, and that info was readily available, right on web sites describing them. Also, the included meals (lunches in St. Pete, dinner in Moscow) were not what we asked for: light meals with some choices, so we could avoid things we didn't like and choose things we did like. My request was ignored; we were given full Russian meals with a fixed menu, no choice. On the first day, a fish dish was the entre, but I am allergic to fish. Fortunately, I had the e-mail I'd sent with me and showed it to the guide, and she was able to change my entre to chicken, which was very good actually. But we didn't want a 3-4 course lunches or dinner (in Moscow). We had the guide drop the lunch the third day, although we never got any credit or refund. But, particularly in contrast to the ship's tours, the prices were so reasonable we didn't worry too much about it.

The people who were on the ship's tour to Moscow saw us boarding the same train for which they were forced to queue up and wait on the way back, and asked us what we had done. I was candid and open so they were not happy when I explained what we had arranged and particularly what it had cost. Also, when we returned to the ship, we found they had laid on a late supper for those who had gone to Moscow, so up we went and had something. Well, it turns out the late supper was supposed to be just for those on the ship's tour, but we and others on 'independent' tours, there were a dozen or more of us, crashed the party, actually got there first, and they didn't realize it until the larger group arrived and there weren't enough tables/places set. By that time, the 'independents' had all gotten served and were eating; what could they do?

A couple from the larger group sat down with us and asked us about our tour, and they were the ones I told about our arrangement and its cost. They turned to others who’d been with them and announced the details, loudly enough so the whole room heard, which started a lot of bitching and complaining. I gathered they weren't very happy with the ship's tour to begin with, and this was the straw that broke the camel's back. We finished up and beat it out of there, but overheard later that one of the excursion staff came to check on something and ran into a real mess. I caught a cold on the trip, which forced me to bed the second day following in Tallinn, so by the time we reappeared we heard about the contretemps' but apparently no one recalled who started it, thankfully.

Because of what happened to us, I would probably not use AllTravelRussia if I were to go again, or if I did, I would be sure to get confirmation of every detail of the tour. They do have good reviews generally, and we were certainly helped by their visa department and liked the guides and drivers. Their weakness, I say now with full 20:20 hindsight, is that once the sales person who plans the tour, sells it to you and collects your money, he (or she) transfers the plan to their Russia office for implementation; there is no follow-up to make sure it gets done right. And that is where our problems arose; we paid for a custom tour but got a standard package with a few destinations switched, and no one checked them out, even to see when they were open the day we were scheduled to go. If you check every detail that’s important to you, it should be OK, but that’s a hell of a way to have to do business, in my opinion.

Thank you for the 20/20 hindsight observation on your Russian tour operator, and better priced than the ship's excursion cost.

Thanks very much for the feedback.

We had the same experience as you so far as price. We originally booked a Viking Cruise but, hearing some things about the river cruises that made us unhappy, looked into other options. T-A-R cost the same or less than a cruise and had us in hotels for 11 days. We opted for the private tour. They have three tour levels, based on hotels. We originally opted for the four star as it did not cost much more than the three star hotels. Finally we decided to throw it all in and upgraded to five star. In Moscow we will be at the newly opened Kempinsky which is two blocks from Red Square. In St. Petersburg it is the Grand Hotel Europe, one of the most vaunted luxury hotels in Russia. Location is important for us as the tours use up only part of the day so being in the center of everything for our independent touring is important. As with many other cities, the less you pay, the farther out of the center of town you are.

We have been working with our salesman in D.C. and he seems to get back to us with the changes we want. He recently returned from Russia so is up on everything. When I asked they said they paid the full TA commission if I wanted so I got my usual TA on board so he is watching our back and giving us that extra level of comfort. He also set up our air, which I know pays him little or nothing, and got us business class for much less than T-A-R wanted for economy, though it took working for a while with a consolidator. He's happy to get his 10 percent on this trip without having booked it. He also took care of the trip insurance. We've been doing a lot of research on the CC sister site Trip Advisor and will write a report there. We will, I guess, become a source of info for CC members after having spent 5 days in Moscow and 6 in SP.
