Queen + Adam Lambert Announce 2023 North American ‘Rhapsody’ Tour Dates

By Andy Greene

Andy Greene

Queen + Adam Lambert are bringing their Rhapsody Tour back to North America for their first shows on this side of the Atlantic since 2019. The tour kicks off Oct. 4 in Baltimore, Maryland, and wraps up Nov. 11 in Los Angeles, California.

“This tour has lots of new bells and lots of new whistles,” Queen guitarist Brian May tells Rolling Stone . “We’ve evolved as performers, I think. We’ve stepped up our game. We have better chemistry than ever. We understand each other better than ever, and we feel more free in the way that we interpret stuff. We’re very happy with it. There’s lots of new production and stuff we want to excite you with.”

The set will focus on Queen classics like “Another One Bites The Dust,” “Somebody to Love,” and “Radio Ga Ga.” But they sprinkled in deep cuts like “Tear It Up” and “A King of Magic” in Europe last year, and hope to keep doing that.

“This show has evolved since its been in America since we’ve taken it around the world,” adds drummer Roger Taylor. “It’s quite a different show in a way, while retaining all the big hits, which so many people want to hear.”

Ticket sales begin Friday, March 31. In an effort to keep prices low and reduce scalping, the band is going to utilize the Ticketmaster Face Value Exchange, which makes it impossible to sell tickets for more than face value. “It’s an experiment,” says May. “We got sick of seeing our fans get ripped off by scalpers. We’re hoping this works out.”

Queen + Adam Lambert first played together on the 2009 finale of American Idol. They began gigging together in 2012, and have stayed on the road consistently over the past decade. Filling in for Freddie Mercury was a daunting task at first for Lambert, but he’s grown very comfortable with the job over the years.

“I feel less anxiety now,” he says. “I’ve matured as a performer. I trust myself a bit more. I will say that when the movie [ Bohemian Rhapsody ] came out, we had all these new fans, and many of them were young, I felt this little pang of, ‘Oh, these are new fans that haven’t been to a show yet.’ I needed to prove myself again, which is good. It keeps me on my game.”

The 2018 movie was an enormous success that grossed $911 million and won four Academy Awards, including Best Actor for star Rami Malek. It ends at Live Aid in 1985, and there’s been scattered talk over the past few years of a sequel that would chronicle Mercury’s final years.

“We need a script,” says May. “That’s what it comes down to. It took us 12 years to get the script for Bohemian Rhapsody , and get the right team in place. I’m not anxious. I think if the right thing comes along, it might work. We have our wonderful producer, Graham King, on it. It’s a possibility. If the right planets align, it might happen.”

At the moment, this next leg of the Rhapsody Tour is just 14 shows, but it’s very possible they’ll tack on more. “People are buying tickets,” says Lambert. “And hey, we like performing.”

Queen + Adam Lambert’s 150-minute career-spanning set list celebrates the band’s extraordinary back catalogue, lining up wall-to-wall immortal anthems like “We Will Rock You”, “Don’t Stop Me Now”, “Radio Ga Ga”, and “Somebody To Love” alongside classic deep cuts and vintage fan favourites. Featuring a dazzling state-of-the-art stage design, incredible special effects and set pieces, this sense-swamping extravaganza has been blowing critics and fans away the world over.

As with last year’s UK and European dates, the 2023 North American tour will see Queen + Adam Lambert supported on stage by their regular band members, long-serving Queen keyboard player and musical director Spike Edney, bass guitarist Neil Fairclough and percussionist Tyler Warren.

Having extensively toured over the last few years, the Rhapsody show is forever evolving. But it remains at heart a tribute to Freddie Mercury’s majestic legacy, a confirmation of Brian and Roger’s undimmed musical prowess, plus a magnificent showcase for Adam’s vocal skills and electrifying stage charisma, all of which adds up to a glorious full-blooded celebration of one of the greatest songbooks in rock history. Read more on the story of The Rhapsody Tour so far, including the special performance opening the Platinum Jubilee concert with the late Queen herself tea cup tapping to the beat of “We Will Rock You” HERE .

TICKETS: Tickets will be available via a general onsale beginning Friday, March 31st at 10AM local time at LiveNation.com .

MORE ON TICKETS:

Queen + Adam Lambert appreciate that it is an enormous task to try and stop scalpers from taking advantage of fans wanting to purchase tickets for the tour. In an effort to help minimize resale and keep ticket prices at face value for fans, the band are collaborating with the venues’ ticketing partners to restrict the ability to transfer tickets for The Rhapsody Tour so that they may only be transferred between fans at the original price.

Fans will still have protection against unforeseen circumstances. Those who purchase tickets and are no longer able to attend their show will be able to sell their tickets at the price they paid using a face value ticket exchange, including the Ticketmaster Face Value Exchange – which is free to use for buyers and sellers. More information on how the Ticketmaster Exchange works is available here .

Unfortunately, the states of NY, IL, and CO have laws in place which protect ticket scalpers – these laws prohibit artists from being able to restrict the transfer of their tickets to face value exchanges only. For shows in these states, Queen + Adam Lambert strongly encourage fans to only buy or sell tickets to one another on face value exchanges. More information can be found here , with more details to follow in the coming weeks.

Queen + Adam Lambert Unveil North American ‘Rhapsody’ Tour Dates: ‘These Are New Glory Days’

Queen Adam Lambert

“These are kind of new glory days for us,” said Queen guitarist and founding member Brian May, who was literally knighted by King Charles III earlier this month. “It’s nice to think that hopefully there will be the demand for that.”

But the guitarist, along with founding drummer Roger Taylor and singer Adam Lambert , was on the other side of the Atlantic in Thursday, in New York to announce the group’s 14-show North American leg of its “Rhapsody” tour — its first since 2019 — which runs from Oct. 4 through Nov. 11.

Popular on Variety

Shows on the overseas “Rhapsody” tour dates featured around 25 songs plus four encore numbers, and included the hits “Killer Queen,” “Fat Bottomed Girls, “Another One Bites the Dust, “We Will Rock You / We Are the Champions” and the song with more than 2 billion Spotify streams that lent its title to a film and this tour, “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

Queen promises some deeper cuts on this jaunt. Lambert says, “I’m not sure exactly what we’ll pull out for this one. Look, I would be happy just to show up and do what I was told if that was how it was. But I’ve been really fortunate to work with these two gentlemen who are very collaborative, and we get to all throw ideas in and work things out. I’m really grateful for that it makes me even more invested in it.

It’s been a decade since the group’s first live American concert, though the first time they performed was in 2009 when May and Taylor were guests on the eighth season of “Idol.” May remembers the first actual American concert in Las Vegas in 2013 for the iHeart Music Festival: “It felt so good both internally and from the [crowd] reaction that we thought, ‘My God, this is something we shouldn’t be letting go.’ I think we foresaw some kind of future, didn’t we? But not quite as big as it actually happened. It’s been colossal.”

Lambert agreed, “I don’t think I would have imagined that it would have been the gift that keeps on giving.”

The current Rhapsody tour features Queen + Adam Lambert’s regular band members, longtime keyboard player and musical director Spike Edney, bass guitarist Neil Fairclough and percussionist Tyler Warren. Founding bassist John Deacon left the band and effectively retired from music following Freddie Mercury’s 1991 death, and chose not to be present at Queen’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.

Despite a 30-year-plus age difference between Lambert, 41, and May, 75 and Taylor, 73, the three have an easy camaraderie that’s evident both onstage and off. Lambert was only three when Queen’s iconic 1985 Live Aid performance rocked the world, but it was something he got to recreate at the Fire Fight fundraiser concert in Sydney, Australia in February 2020, a month before Covid shut down the world.

As a fan growing up, Lambert was familiar with Queen’s Live Aid footage. “But when it came time to first join the band on stage, I was like, ‘I have to know my stuff’ so I watched as much as I could. Besides Live Aid, one of my favorite things was Montreal concert where Freddie was running around in a pair of itty bitty white shorts and no shoes,” Lambert says. “I just I remember seeing that and going ‘This guy’s amazing.’ He was so free and ridiculous and just full of joy and I’ve been so inspired by that spirit. I try to approach shows with that same humor…”

“And shorts?” Taylor quipped.

“Not the shorts for me — Freddie had much better legs,” Lambert concluded.

A general on sale date for the Queen + Adam Lambert  U.S. tour is March 31, and in light of exorbitant ticket prices and “dynamic pricing,” the band stated in a release that “In an effort to help minimize resale and keep ticket prices at face value for fans, the band are collaborating with the venues’ ticketing partners to restrict the ability to transfer tickets for the Rhapsody tour so that they may only be transferred between fans at the original price.”

Queen + Adam Lambert Announce ‘The Rhapsody Tour’ Fall 2023 North American Dates

Queen + Adam Lambert are back to rock North America one more time, announcing fall North American dates for "The Rhapsody Tour."

The trek is set to launch Oct. 4 in Baltimore, Maryland and will hit stops in the U.S. and Canada through a Nov. 11 finale in Los Angeles. See all of the dates, cities and venues listed toward the bottom of the page.

For fans wondering, Queen view the show as an evolution of the performances that they were putting on prior to the pandemic. "We were changing it and improving it as we went, and we are now going through all of those improvements again when it comes to this American leg," says drummer Roger Taylor to Billboard .

When asked about the changes to the set and production, guitarist Brian May was coy, explaining, "Well, we’re not gonna tell you that much, we don’t want to spoil it. [laughs] But the nice things is that the material is what ultimately gives the ideas, and we’re able to develop those ideas as we go along. We get to throw more and more stuff in, production-wise."

Lambert chimed in, "I will say, the technology has come so far, even in the 10 years that we’ve worked together. It gives us so much freedom when it comes to what we want to create, what environment we want to put around a song. We have all of these toys that we get to play with, which we all get a big kick out of. We have an amazing creative team that work with us — I mean, we add something in a couple of days if we have a cool idea. Once the show kicks off, the show is never locked. It’s never the same show every night, we have the ability to throw a new song in, move the set around, change the visuals. There’s so much freedom."

As for whether or not this is the band's final run, May commented, "Let me be clear, this is not a farewell tour. You can always do one more time … and then one more time … and then another time after that!"

Tickets for "The Rhapsody Tour" will go on sale next Friday (March 31) at 10AM local time via Live Nation .

Adam Lamber (L) and Brian May jam out onstage together.

Forget karaoke — starting in October, you can sing along with the band that brought classics like “Bohemian Rhapsody” to the world.

After a four-year hiatus, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame group Queen is returning to the road with lead singer Adam Lambert for their 14-concert ‘Rhapsody Tour’ that will send them to arenas all over North America from Oct. 4 through Nov. 11.

On the brief tour, the band that inspired the Oscar-nominated film “Bohemian Rhapsody” will bring all the hits like “Under Pressure,” “Fat Bottomed Girls,” “We Will Rock You,” “Another One Bites The Dust,” “Somebody To Love” and so many more to the Big Apple when they play New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Oct. 12.

And don’t worry — the ‘Rhapsody Tour’ isn’t just a rehash of Queen’s greatest hits.

“This is about giving (fans) a show that feels fresh,” singer Adam Lambert said in an interview with Billboard . “We are keenly aware of what the favorites are and we try to include the big hits every night — they have a lot of hits, so it’s a lot to choose from.”

Need tickets to hear fresh versions of “We Are The Champions,” “You’re My Best Friend” and “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” now?

Not a problem.

Although inventory isn’t available on Ticketmaster until Friday, March 31, fans who want to ensure they have tickets ahead of time can purchase on sites like Vivid Seats before tickets are officially on sale.

Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

Queen 2023 tour schedule

A complete calendar including all tour dates, venues and links to the cheapest tickets available for each ‘Rhapsody Tour’ concert can be found below.

Queen band members

There may never have been a more high-profile lead singer replacement for a band than Adam Lambert assuming Freddie Mercury’s place back in 2011.

Who’s playing behind the 41-year-old former “American Idol” finalist though?

Well, original members drummer Roger Taylor and recently knighted guitarist Sir Brian May are still around 53 years after the band formed in 1970.

“These are kind of new glory days for us,” said May in an interview with Variety .

They’ll be joined by Spike Edney on keyboards and rhythm guitar, Neil Fairclough will handle bass and Tyler Warren plays percussion and drums.

Edney, Fairclough and Warren also provide backup vocals.

Queen set list

Not many bands have a three-disc Greatest Hits album.

Queen does though.

That being said, it’s not easy to distill a legendary catalog into a single concert — classics like “Flash” might not make the cut.

Based on past gigs, here’s what you can expect to hear on this tour based on their 2019 U.S. concert set lists.

01.) “Now I’m Here”

02.) “Seven Seas of Rhye” 03.) “Keep Yourself Alive”

04.) “Hammer to Fall”

05.) “Killer Queen”

06.) “Don’t Stop Me Now”

07.) “In the Lap of the Gods… Revisited”

08.) “Somebody to Love”

09.) “I’m in Love With My Car”

10.) “Bicycle Race”

11.) “Another One Bites the Dust”

12.) “I Want It All”

13.) “Love of My Life”

14.) “’39”

15.) “Doing All Right”

16.) “Crazy Little Thing Called Love”

17.) “Under Pressure”

18.) “Dragon Attack”

19.) “I Want to Break Free”

20.) “Who Wants to Live Forever”

Queen and Adam Lambert

Since joining forces in 2011, Queen + Adam Lambert have quickly become one of the most successful touring acts in the world — and now, they’re ready to prove why.

Queen Release Stirring Lost Track Featuring Freddie Mercury Vocals, ‘Face It Alone’

Trending on billboard.

Billboard caught up with May, Lambert and Roger Taylor ahead of their official announcement, where the trio talked about what fans can expect from the new show, their favorite songs to perform live, and why “this is not a farewell tour,” according to May.

This is the first time in four years that the three of you will be touring the U.S. together, following your European tour last year — how are you feeling ahead of hitting the road this fall?

Brian May:  It’s incredible, yeah. I think we all learned in COVID how much we really missed this. It was really tough for everybody. We already did our big outing in Europe, but with a lot of restrictions on that; we had a very strict protocol just to get through, because people were going down like flies. But we managed to get through that whole tour without losing a date, and it was all sold-out, packed, fantastic and better than ever, I think. So we thought, “Well, we just have to get back to the states.”

Outside of those restrictions, were there any significant learning curves you had to navigate in a post-COVID touring environment last year?

May:  Oh, yeah.

Taylor:  We were changing it and improving it as we went, and we are now going through all of those improvements again when it comes to this American leg.

I’ve noticed that the phrase “one more time” has been thrown around quite a bit when it comes to this tour — are you planning on this being Queen + Adam Lambert’s final outing?

May:  Let me be clear, this is not a farewell tour. You can always do one more time … and then one more time … and then another time after that!

Adam Lambert:  [laughs] Yeah, why limit yourself, guys?

Taylor:  It’s just a simple, five year farewell tour, right?

Queen Guitarist Brian May Knighted by King Charles at Buckingham Palace

When it comes to the “improvements” you’ve made to the show, what can fans expect to see that’s new with this leg of The Rhapsody Tour?

May:  Well, we’re not gonna tell you  that  much, we don’t want to spoil it. [laughs] But the nice things is that the material is what ultimately gives the ideas, and we’re able to develop those ideas as we go along. We get to throw more and more stuff in, production-wise.

Lambert:  I will say, the technology has come so far, even in the 10 years that we’ve worked together. There’s so much freedom.

Lambert:  I’d say a couple of glasses of wine and a chat, yeah?

May:  [laughs] I mean, we also always do a soundcheck. The soundcheck is the key thing for us, I think. Every time we go into a new city and set things up, we’ll go into a soundcheck for two or three hours sometimes. When we’re doing that, we’ll try new stuff out, and our team is so flexible with us, that we’ll just throw out, “Can you give us a certain lighting effect, can you do stuff on the screens?” And they’ll build it on the spot for us. We don’t work on backing tracks or anything, which means we can kind of do anything we want. And we’re really fortunate to have a technical team that can handle that — a lot of this stuff is programmed to work at pretty exact intervals, and ours is all human touch, which gives it that live feel.

Lambert:  Also, when we add a song sort of impromptu, we don’t like to over-rehearse it. We play it in that soundcheck and maybe one more soundcheck, and then we throw it in. It makes it really fun, like it’s a thrill-seeking activity, where we just go for it and see what happens.

Brian, I wanted to congratulate you on your recent knighting from King Charles III — what was that experience like for you?

And Adam, congratulations on your  High Drama  covers album — were there any big covers you wanted to include that didn’t quite make the cut?

Lambert:  There were definitely a couple others I was considering, but it was a very thought-out project, so we weren’t wasting a lot of time or energy in the studio. We did it so quick, probably recorded those over about two months. I’m so happy with it, even though I did not write those songs, it felt like I was getting creative in the studio to find new ways to make them sound. That was such a cool challenge for me.

Queen has one of the most prolific songbooks in modern rock music. Obviously there are the core set of hits that you’re gonna play almost no matter what — do you have any favorites in particular to perform that maybe aren’t as monolithic?

May:  You know, there’s some stuff that we know would be very difficult — Roger mentioned “The Millionaire Waltz” once.

Taylor:  [laughs] Oh yeah, I don’t know if we could pull that off.

May:  But a lot of the stuff we do anyways is fairly complex — the key is you don’t play the record. We really play how we feel on the stage. It’s funny, some people would call that a bluff, but there’s a lot of multi-track guitar harmonies in a lot of our songs, and I don’t do that onstage and I don’t use trickery to achieve it. I play what I’m feeling, and people hear that and get a purely live version of the song. No extra frills, because to me, recording has always been different than performing live.

Taylor:  Sometimes, the song gains a whole new dimension of excitement from that. But the live version will not be exactly the same as the record — that’s not what we’re about.

Lambert:  As far as the setlist goes, I think we’re all aware of what the fan favorites are. But the most important thing here is that, sure, we need to have fun, but the audience is buying a ticket to see the show. This is about their evening and giving them a show that feels fresh. We are keenly aware of what the favorites are and we try to include the big hits every night — they have a  lot  of hits, so it’s a lot to choose from. But it’s a two-plus hour show, so we’ve got plenty of time to get those big hits.

Tickets for The Rhapsody Tour officially go on sale Friday, March 31 at 10 a.m. local time on LiveNation.com .

Those who purchase tickets and are no longer able to attend their show will be able to sell their tickets at the price they paid using a face value ticket exchange, including the Ticketmaster Face Value Exchange - which is free to use for buyers and sellers. More information on how the Ticketmaster Exchange works is available here .

Unfortunately, the states of NY, IL, and CO have laws in place which protect ticket scalpers - these laws prohibit artists from being able to restrict the transfer of their tickets to face value exchanges only. For shows in these states, Queen + Adam Lambert strongly encourage fans to only buy or sell tickets to one another on face value exchanges. More information can be found here , with more details to follow in the coming weeks.

This past March, May spoke to SiriusXM 's Classic Rewind about the evolution of QUEEN 's live performance since he and Taylor first shared the stage together with Lambert more than a decade ago. He said: "I think our chemistry is better than it ever was. I mean, Roger and I go back hundreds of years, as you probably know. But with Adam , I mean, it was good from the beginning, but it's now amazing. We now have a real empathy on stage, a real kind of understanding. There's a connection. And you probably know, we don't have any clicks or backing tracks or anything, so we're completely free and we can feel what each other wants to do. So every night, it'll go a slightly different way. And I love that — the danger of that is brilliant. And we all feel more confident, I think. And I think as you get older, you get more forgiving of yourself. You don't regard things as mistakes. You regard everything as an opportunity. You get more forgiving of your younger self as well. You think, 'Okay, I was only young.' But it's a different feeling.

"I just think it's a privilege to be out there and to be able to do that and to get that incredible response from the audience," Brian added. "The QUEEN thing has been something amazing for all of us, and it's a real privilege to have that."

After SiriusXM 's Mark Goodman noted that QUEEN managed to not only continue after the passing of Mercury , who died in 1991 of complications from to AIDS, but thrive following the arrival of Lambert , the guitarist said: "It's amazing that we didn't look for him. I always think that. We didn't advertise; we didn't audition. He just turned up out of the blue, out of heaven, and he had everything that we needed, plus more. And it is truly incredible."

Lambert , May and Taylor first shared the stage during "American Idol" in May 2009 for a performance of "We Are The Champions" . They teamed up again in 2011 at the MTV European Music Awards in Belfast, Ireland for an electrifying eight-minute finale of "The Show Must Go On" , "We Will Rock You" and "We Are The Champions" and in the summer of 2012, Lambert performed a series of shows with QUEEN across Europe as well as dates in Russia, Ukraine and Poland. They have since completed a number of tours and performed at some of the biggest festivals in the world.

In May 2019, Lambert said that he wasn't convinced it was the right move for him to record new music with QUEEN . Speaking to Hunger , he said: "People always ask if we want to record together, and I'm not sure it makes total sense, because it wouldn't really be QUEEN , because, to me, QUEEN is Freddie . My favorite thing is collaborating and putting these concerts together and creating on stage — it's super fulfilling and exciting. To present these ideas to these two gentlemen — especially when they like the idea."

May previously described Lambert as the only singer the band had found capable of filling Mercury 's shoes. " Adam is the first person we've encountered who can do all the QUEEN catalog without blinking," said May . "He is a gift from God." Taylor echoed the guitarist's sentiments, adding: "[ Adam 's] incredibly musical, and we certainly take anything he says quite seriously."

Lambert , for his part, downplayed the Mercury comparisons, saying: "There's never going to be another, and I'm not replacing him. That's not what I'm doing. I'm trying to keep the memory alive, and remind people how amazing he was, without imitating him. I'm trying to share with the audience how much he inspired me."

In 2004, QUEEN recruited BAD COMPANY singer Paul Rodgers , with whom they completed two world tours and released an album, "The Cosmos Rocks" , in 2008. They amicably parted ways a year later when Rodgers returned to BAD COMPANY . Since 2011, QUEEN has been fronted by Lambert .

Adam Lambert Says Freddie Mercury Is in His Heart 'Every Time I Take the Stage' as He and Queen Close Out 2023 Tour

Lambert, alongside original Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor, played the final two shows of their North American tour over the weekend at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles

Adam Lambert  made sure to keep the legacy of late Queen  frontman, Freddie Mercury , alive as he and original band members Brian May  and  Roger Taylor  closed out their North American tour.

Over the weekend, Lambert, May and Taylor played the final two shows of their 2023 Rhapsody Tour at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles. The shows marked the end of Queen's 22-show North American Tour — their first tour in four years — which kicked off in October in Baltimore.

While addressing the crowd during Saturday's show, Lambert, 41, spoke about how fortunate he was to tour with the rock legends over the past 10 years. He also made sure to pay tribute to Mercury, who died at age 45 in 1991.

"L.A., what's up?" Lambert greeted the crowd. "It's so good to be home here after an amazing tour with two rock and roll legends. You know that I've been on the road for 10 years with Queen? Isn’t that nuts?"

"Just know that every time I get up here, I know that I’m f---ing lucky," Lambert continued. "I know how much of an honor this is. And be assured that every time I take the stage, I have one person in my heart: Freddie Mercury!"

As the crowd went wild, Lambert continued on. "You love Freddie too, right? That’s what this is, this is a celebration of Freddie and Queen," he said before breaking into Queen's hit, "Don't Stop Me Now."

Later during the show — which featured 150 minutes of hits that spanned Queen's decades-long career, including classics like "We Will Rock You," "Radio Ga Ga" and "Somebody to Love" — May, 76, honored his late bandmate in his own moment onstage.

Singing their acoustic song "Love of My Life," May sat on a stool and performed for the crowd before a clip of Mercury singing the same song appeared on the screen above the stage. At the end of the performance, May reached out to his left — the same direction where the clip of Mercury was positioned on the screen — making it appear as if the two were on stage together.

Though Lambert is assuming the lead singer role that Mercury once had, the American Idol alum and his bandmates have previously made it clear that he's not trying to be the late iconic singer.

"He doesn't try to be Freddie, which is wonderful," May told PEOPLE in March . "He always pays tribute to Freddie, which we love. We all do. Freddie's with us, but Adam interprets, he finds new ways to go and we are very much a team now. We discuss everything, we build, we rebuild and it's fun."

Lambert agreed, calling his partnership with May and Taylor, 74, a "team effort," and acknowledging that Mercury "laid the groundwork" for all that they've accomplished together.

"He's the originator. He can't be replaced, but it gives me so much freedom to just exist in a playful, kind of silly place," he said. "Freddie had a great sense of humor, from what I hear and what I've seen, and he was sort of limitless."

While it's been 10 years since they first started touring together, May said he still finds it unbelievable that he gets to tour with Taylor and perform their Queen hits with the help of Lambert.

"The amazing thing is we didn't look for Adam. I often think, 'My God, how did this happen?' He is kind of a gift from God," he told PEOPLE in March. "Roger and I, after we lost Freddie, said 'OK, this is the end of it.' We knew consciously, 'No, we're not going to this anymore.'"

"He just appeared," May continued of Lambert. "The voice is extraordinary. There is no other voice in the universe like his voice. Plus he has all the other stuff, I mean, look at the guy. He's born to wear diamonds."

With the North American portion of their tour now complete, Queen and Lambert have a few months off before heading to Japan in 2024 for a five-show run, kicking off Feb. 4.

"It's just a privilege to be able to do this at the top level that we are," May told PEOPLE in March. "How wonderful. How could you possibly ask for more? I think we're very happy doing it. I'm probably going to do it 'til I drop."

Adam Lambert, for sure, knows the muffin man.

The singer, 41, was faced with making a nursery rhyme into a pop hit on Monday's episode of  Jimmy Fallon's "That's My Jam."

In the show's Wheel of Musical Impressions segment, a roulette wheel prompted Lambert to sing "The Muffin Man" in the style of pop icon Cher , and the "Whataya Want From Me" singer delivered.

"I got it," Lambert said before belting the kid-friendly song to the tune of Cher's "Believe."

The live audience received Lambert's rendition of the song with praise, as fellow contestants Simu Liu  and Chlöe and Halle Bailey cheered him on with laughs and claps.

Lambert had a bit of an advantage with the music challenge. The former "American Idol" contestant sang Cher's "Believe" in front of the goddess of pop herself as she was awarded at the Kennedy Center Honors in 2018.

"I’ve always loved to flip songs and challenge the ear to hear them in a different way. I did it on 'Idol,' " Lambert told USA TODAY in February . "I’ve heard from so many fans that they love (when I do) that and it’s gotten such positive response."

The singer's most recent album, "High Drama," features 11 classic songs from music powerhouses including Duran Duran, Noel Coward and Bonnie Tyler reimagined in his own music style, both booming pop-rock and delicate balladry. "High Drama" became a passion project for Lambert's fans.

"I said to my team, 'I wish I had new music to put out on the quick side for all of my beautiful fans,' and the idea for a covers album felt like we could get that done quicker," Lambert said. "I think all of the songs on this album are by artists I appreciate, respect and love."

Adam Lambert Lives A Lavish Life

Adam Lambert with blonde hair

With a love for performance and a constant desire to answer the call of the stage, singer Adam Lambert was simply born to entertain. However, after years of performing within the musical theater realm, Lambert decided that he wanted more and auditioned for a popular TV show that would quickly turn his passion into a flourishing career. "[I used] positive projection. You know, affirmation," he told Oprah Winfrey . "Really imagining what my life could be and what I really want out of it." Delivering not only powerful vocals, but a slew of edgy looks throughout season 8 of American Idol, it was not long before the world came to know and love the pop icon himself.

With a rise in fame came a number of stellar opportunities for Adam Lambert — one of which granted him the chance to pay tribute to the notorious Freddie Mercury. "The amazing thing is we didn't look for Adam," guitarist Brian May of Queen told People . "I often think, 'My God, how did this happen?' He is kind of a gift from God. ... The voice is extraordinary. There is no other voice in the universe like his voice."

This level of success not only led to an increase in notability for Lambert but blessed the singer with a hefty income so he could lead the life of luxury he always dreamed of. From wearing and shopping for designer clothing to performing for the royals themselves, Adam Lambert most definitely lives a lavish life.

His LA home is drool-worthy

View this post on Instagram A post shared by bbadamlambert (@bbseablue)

When Adam Lambert purchased his Los Angeles home back in 2018, he moved into a space that is perfect for both hosting and hunkering down alike. The 4,739-square-foot estate , which Lambert acquired for $6.5 million, houses a number of cozy spaces but also includes many areas fit for a star of Lambert's caliber.

In the yard, guests of the singer can be treated to an outdoor spa experience, followed by a dip in the infinity pool or a moment of relaxation in one of the home's many lounge areas. Better yet, the estate encompasses its very own home theater, giving at-home movie nights an incredibly authentic feeling.

While all five bedrooms and five bathrooms are just as stunning as the next, it is the primary suite and ensuite bathroom that really give reason for jaws to be dropped. The primary suite, which is already quite spacious to begin with, comes complete with a sliding glass wall, making the room feel as if it is larger than life itself. The door leads out to a private balcony and seating area, which overlooks the City of Angels in its most glorious form. In addition to the singer's luxurious bedroom, the ensuite is a perfect place for Lambert to rejuvenate after a long string of shows. Featuring two showers, a soaking tub, and its very own balcony as well, the ensuite is fit to provide hours of zen and relaxation.

He performed with Queen at Buckingham Palace

June 2022 marked Queen Elizabeth II's 70th year of service to the throne, and the monarch decided to celebrate in a way nothing short of extravagant. Though the Platinum Jubilee was filled with a number of notable activities and events already, it was the Platinum Party at the Palace that really stole the show that weekend. On June 4, Adam Lambert took to the stage with Queen and serenaded the crowd with the band's most popular hits on a stage in front of Buckingham Palace. The performance was viewed by over 22,000 individuals at the venue itself and was also broadcast live by the BBC.

Lambert and Queen were the first in line to perform at the event, kicking off the show with the punchy tune "We Will Rock You." The beginning beat was actually introduced by Queen Elizabeth herself, who was seen tapping on a teacup in a prerecorded video alongside Paddington Bear. The rest of the set included songs such as "Don't Stop Me Now" and "We Are The Champions," which Lambert belted out while dressed in an ever-so-glamorous black and gold coat.

According to the  Independent , Princess Charlotte and Prince George really seemed to enjoy the performance, as the two were seen waving flags throughout the entire segment. Following Lambert and Queen's set were a number of notable names within the music industry, including Sir Elton John and Diana Ross, just to name a few.

He met the royal family at a carol concert

In addition to performing at Buckingham Palace for Queen Elizabeth II, Adam Lambert performed at yet another royal event during the holiday season. In December 2023, the star was invited to Westminster Abbey to sing at Princess Catherine's Together at Christmas carol concert, where he sang the tune "The Christmas Song" with British artist Beverley Knight. "I had the honor of meeting Catherine, Princess of Wales," Lambert told People . "She invited the performers she wanted to see at the service, and it was lovely to visit with her before we performed." The singer went on to explain that this was more "up close and personal" compared to performing for the queen's Platinum Jubilee.

Visiting Westminster Abbey itself was also a dream come true for Adam Lambert, for the venue was one that he had seen on television so many times before. "I've always loved history and old architecture, and this is sort of my sweet spot," Lambert told the outlet. "I was able to walk around a little bit after my rehearsal and just kind of take a little self-guided tour of some of the areas inside at the Abbey and it's just breathtaking, and the amount of history in here is nuts." Although standing within the grand church in person was most definitely unreal for the singer, Lambert recalls the environment actually bringing him a sense of calm.

He bought a $400,000 sports car

With his Los Angeles home giving off major rockstar vibes to all who pass by, it is no surprise that Adam Lambert chose a car just as stylish to park in the driveway. "I just got a new car ... so I'm really excited," the singer teased on "2DayFM Breakfast with Grant, Ed & Ash" back in 2019. Lambert then went on to spill the details of his recent vehicle purchase: a brand new Aston Martin DB11 Volante valued at $400,000. The car's sheer power, sleek exterior, and comfortable seating made it a fan favorite upon its release, and it was most definitely a fabulous choice for a glamorous star like Lambert. "It is really fun to drive," the singer gushed to the show's hosts (via Daily Mail ). "It's a convertible."

Fast forward to May 2023, Aston Martin celebrated the debut of its newest sports car, the DB12. Held at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc during the Cannes Film Festival, the vehicle most definitely made a show-stopping first impression. Not only that but since the release of the DB12 coincided with the luxe brand's 110th anniversary, 110 notable names were invited to join in on the festivities. Among these stars was none other than singer Adam Lambert, the proud owner of an Aston Martin of his very own. As for the other stars present, Lambert celebrated alongside Queen Latifa, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Winnie Harlow, to name a few.

He dropped five figures on a jacket

Adam Lambert's wardrobe is one made up of unique and extravagant pieces, making him the perfect artist to pay tribute to the late Freddie Mercury. "I spend way too much on clothing and fashion," Lambert admitted to  GQ . "I've recently gotten so heavily into online shopping. It's dangerous!" While the star owns many showstopping pieces from a variety of designer brands, it is those with exceptional tailoring that Lambert favors most. "I love a Dolce & Gabbana suit because it fits off the rack really well," he explained. "I like Marc Jacobs, a lot of the new Gucci, I love McQueen's tailoring."

Yet there is one item in Adam Lambert's closet that really takes the cake: a $12,000 Givency blue jacket with black, shimmery accents. "The jacket that I wore on the Oscar performance with Queen this year was really crazy, and I bought it. It was pricey," the artist revealed on "2DayFM Breakfast with Grant, Ed & Ash" (via Daily Mail ). Luckily, Lambert is not one to just wear something once. 'I've broken the [fashion] rule plenty of times," he revealed.

He wore sneakers worth over $1K

In addition to his fun and daring collection of expensive clothing items, Adam Lambert owns some pretty cool footwear as well. "I love shoes," Lambert said on " The Kelly Clarkson Show ." "Shoes really keep me on track." The more unique and more exaggerated the shoe, the more Lambert loves it — regardless of whether or not he can actually walk in the pair. "I really like the most extreme as I can possibly find," Lambert went on to explain to Clarkson, sharing a pair of silver and black platform boots he'd recently purchased.

Perhaps one of Adam Lambert's most fashionable footwear finds, however, was a pair of Vetements sneakers that he rocked in July 2023. The star stepped out in the silver shoes for Kate Beckinsale 's 50th birthday party, a style that cost him approximately $1,500. The metallic leather shoes came complete with a 3-inch platform, giving the star some extra height to match his larger-than-life persona. Silver hardware and black laces really accentuated the stylishness of the sneaker, giving the pair a very edgy yet sophisticated look. In addition to Vetements, Lambert enjoys rocking the footwear creations of Christian Louboutin and Rick Owens, plus other luxury labels. When it comes to sneakers, however, the singer enjoys wearing niche brands such as T.U.K. Footwear and Giuseppe Zanotti.

He makes time for luxurious trips

With one of his first jobs being that of a professional singer on a cruise ship , Adam Lambert is definitely no stranger to traveling outside of the country. "It was a full international tour, so I got to see a lot of places at a young age," the artist told Helen Whitaker of High Life . "It was very educational, both from a professional point of view and in seeing the world." Since then, Lambert has visited a number of destinations where he can kick back and relax, his favorite being those that provide the full tropical experience.

Whether in Tulum or Curacao, the singer looks for just as many opportunities to explore as he does to unwind. "I like to relax and, if we're in the island type of environment, I might rent a kayak for the afternoon or go snorkeling," Lambert revealed. In the same interview, Adam Lambert spoke about a recent trip he made to the Maldives, where he performed at a private wedding in the beautiful country. The star told Helen Whitaker that it was actually his first time visiting this particular destination and that he really enjoyed the balance of work and down time he experienced on the trip. "Those are the best types of professional opportunities — when you can build in a little free time around work. That's my favorite."

He opened a bar in West Hollywood with Roger Taylor

If Adam Lambert's collaboration with Queen wasn't iconic enough, the singer teamed up with one of his band members to open their very own bar. On November 17, 2023, Lambert and drummer Roger Taylor opened the doors to The Wild, a brand new LGBTQ+ bar and club located in West Hollywood. With low lighting, plenty of greenery, and an overall tropical vibe, The Wild was designed to emulate the lush jungles of Tulum, Mexico. Serving up decadent drinks and mouth-watering bites in an atmosphere that is entirely accepting, the bar urges guests to come on in and let loose.

The venue's idea came to life with the help of Sarina Taylor, Bryan Patrick Franklin, Michael Solis, in addition Lambert and Taylor. "We are thrilled to be partnering on this exciting new venture," the group told  Los Angeles Magazine .

Prior to its official opening day, The Wild hosted its very own VIP party , inviting the family and friends of the five visionaries. Celebs like  Colton Haynes , Violet Chachki, Julian Morris, and Chris Colfer also attended the enchanting event, dancing to music by DJ Mike Taylor while sipping on specialty cocktails. The entrance to the bar was even walled off during the duration of the event to really provide guests with a private, VIP experience.

Bigger than Taylor Swift? COTA Offers to Buy Back Tickets for 2024 US GP Due to Music Headliner

COTA says 'early bird' tickets sold will be worth lot more when organizers reveal this year's musical headliner for the United States Grand Prix.

f1 grand prix of united states

Organizers of Formula 1’s United States Grand Prix have launched an unusual initiative—asking if fans want to make a profit by selling them back their tickets.

Formula 1’s United States Grand Prix has been held at the Circuit of the Americas since 2012 and this year’s event will take place across the weekend of 18-20 October. The Grand Prix is one of the best attended on the Formula 1 calendar, with a weekend attendance of 432,000 in 2023, a figure COTA expects to be broadly similar in 2024.

The US Grand Prix is one of the events that complements its on-track action with off-track activities, most notably its Friday and Saturday night music concerts, which in the past has been headlined by Taylor Swift, Elton John and Bruno Mars.

COTA officials have yet to reveal its headliners for 2024—with an announcement due on April 29—but COTA Chairman Bobby Epstein has promised a name “perhaps the biggest since the Taylor (Swift) announcement” in 2016.

Queen and The Killers headlined race weekend in 2023.

COTA is now offering those who purchased an early bird three-day ground pass admission a chance to sell their package back to the venue for a profit, between now and May 6.

Explaining the situation, Epstein said: “In the past we’ve done early bird ticket sales and we do that often before we’ve got our whole program developed. This year we sold more than 10,000 GA tickets at a price of $299, and we are going to offer those buyers a chance of a profit, we’re going to offer to buy back those tickets at $350.

topshot correction australia entertainment music swift

“When we announce our performers for this year’s Grand Prix weekend we know those tickets will be worth well more than they paid. So we think that’s an unusual thing. It continues to be about delivering a spectacular event that pleases racing fans, music lovers, campers, anyone that wants to share time with friends and family.”

Epstein conceded that “I don’t think many people will take us up on it” and accepted that those wishing to do so could use reseller websites “though they charge a commission,” but outlined that COTA’s ploy “makes a strong statement for us” irrespective of the number of punters who accept the offer.

“It may even encourage future buyers to realize there’s value in buying early,” he said. “Those early buyers showed faith in their promoters, and will continue to do so, when you can see gestures like this.”

COTA is also one of five Formula 1 venues on the calendar—along with Lusail, Barcelona, Silverstone and the Red Bull Ring—which also holds a round of the MotoGP championship.

queen adam lambert in concert

Formula 1 owner Liberty Media recently announced that it will be acquiring MotoGP, raising the prospect of greater collaboration between the championships.

Epstein agreed that a joint round in the future would be “possible, I don’t know that it’s probable,” owing to the safety implications and the commercial and sponsorship clashes.

But Epstein is confident that Liberty Media’s prospective ownership of MotoGP can boost the category, including in the US, where Austin’s round – which is far from a sell-out – is the only stop in the Americas for the championship.

“We’re excited by it—probably more than anybody,” he said. “MotoGP has come to the US, and really not had a whole lot of attention to it, and once they leave [Austin] that’s all you hear for about another 51 weeks, so this is a fantastic thing to have.

“We’ve had 12 years of commitment to MotoGP and we really believe in it, it’s a fantastic competition and it’s just waiting for more people to discover it, so hopefully we’re one of the biggest beneficiaries of this purchase.”

U.K.-based Phillip Horton started covering Grands Prix while still at university and swiftly deemed that writing about Formula 1 and the behind-the-scenes machinations was much more engaging than reading centuries-old novels. Degree gained, he went on to cover the sport full-time from 2014 and is as intrigued and excited by the destinations Formula 1 visits during its lengthy annual world tour as the racing itself. Phillip joined Autoweek in 2021 and while he has just about learned to spell in American English he has yet to find anywhere in America that makes a proper cup of tea.
