What to see

Usually, observation excursion in English language begins with the old city - Jaffa. After a personal guide takes you through the maze of narrow alleys and tells you about the architectural monuments of the main Yefet Street, including the famous Clock tower, be sure to visit the Neve Tzedek district with its picturesque houses and Bohemian cafes. Once you get to know the old part of the city, you can go on to see the sights of the 20th and 21st century. In modern Tel-Aviv, the most popular among tourists are:

• White City - an area built up with houses in style of Bauhaus;
• old port (Excurzilla advises you to look not only at the local cafes, but also at remainder market);
• Azrieli Center is a complex of 3 skyscrapers, one of which has a panoramic viewing platform;
• Pagoda House (be sure to ask the guide about the story behind);
• promenade with beaches, cafes and bars;
• Carmel Market, where you can buy any products, flowers and dishes at reasonable prices;
• Yarkon Park, consisting of 6 themed zones;
• Nahalat Binyamin pedestrianised street.

Tel-Aviv is rich in museums and art galleries. Museum of the Jewish People at Beit Hatfutsot will introduce you to the history of wandering Jews in foreign countries, Eretz Israel Museum displays archaeological finds from various eras, and the Museum of fine arts can see paintings by Monet, Picasso, Modigliani and other prominent artists of the 19th and 20th centuries.

May was a great host - providing background on the food we were eating, explaining Israeli food customs, and sharing stories of her experience as a bartender.
