I lived in a 2B1B apartment here during my freshman year and it was a great experience! Since Webb tower is apartment style living, it was already a huge improvement over other freshman dorm options. Furthermore, it has air conditioning and great views from the high rise. The rooms were spacious and ... See more

Lived in a 2 bedroom, 1 bath as a freshman. Being able to have AC was a huge plus, and the apartment style dorm allowed for a lot of things that normally wouldn’t fit in a freshman dorm. Webb Tower as a whole is a bit old and the location isn’t the most convenient, but it was definitely worth it for ... See more

I lived in one of the 1b2p room and it is spacious. I have a lot of stuff but this room allows me to put all my stuff in there and there is still a lot of space between my roommate and my bed. I would say definitely larger than village apartments. I am on one of the middle floors and we don't usuall ... See more

I lived in a 2 bedroom, 1 bath with four different people. The bed rooms were a bit small, but we had a pretty big living room with a very comfortable couch. The living room had very large buildings with access to natural light. As for the restroom, there were two sinks, a toilet, and a shower. The ... See more

I stayed at Webb for my 2nd year and it was actually not our top choice but we were still very happy about it. I shared it with one other person in a 1B/1B apt. We lived on the 15th floor (the highest) and it was very nice! We didn't have a problem with bugs or loud noises at all. The only thing wou ... See more

Super huge closet space in decently sized rooms. I was in a high-up floor so the views were amazing (I believe the 02 & 03 rooms are the ones facing the Hollywood sign/downtown). Big living room space. The kitchen layout is a bit weird because it’s all counter space but the pantry is HUGE. We had fo ... See more

The 4 person (2 bedroom) apartments in Webb are HUGE. You get a bathroom for your apartment, plus a massive living room and kitchen area. On campus close to the village & 10 ft away from the 6th Starbucks USC has. The one gripe I had with the place is that you could use the stairs to go up, so you ... See more

Lived here as a sophomore at USC and I definitely had a good time =D I got SUPER lucky with my lottery time so I was able to get me and my friend in here. The usual layout is two bedrooms (4 residents) with a large bathroom, kitchen and living room. I lived with one of my friends in a one bedroom so there was only 2 of us! Everything is furnished so we had beds, desks, a couch, an armchair, coffee table, and a little bar area right near the kitchen that came with two big bar stool chairs. It was nice to eat breakfast/do homework there. Pros Pretty quiet so it was easy to get work done/get sleep (^0^) Tons of closet space!! great for girls ;) Nice kitchen appliances Used to right next to Cafe 84 but now it's right next to a dining hall Right next to the gym! Easy to walk to class or the row haha Your student ID is your key to your room!! So handy. Student Health center is right there too Cons No microwave included... Bathroom was pretty small but since there were only two of us it wasn't that bad No dishwasher Elevators are pretty slow Have to go to Fluor Tower when you get a package in the mail

I got Webb tower as guest lodging for a program that I'm in (so no fees). The size of the area is really adequate for 4 people. It allowed each person to have their own space even though it was a shared location. It's near everthing campus wise which was great. The only cons about the location are: *Key (id) does not work so they gave my roommates actual keys to get in and out the unit *The shower pressure was just trash. Very little water came from the shower head *The view that was advertised with this location from the website (girl with the back drop of DTLA) is nowhere to be found in this building. (my roommate was really looking for this view) *There are no closets within this unit. Makes hanging business attire very hard.

Webb Tower. how hard it was to win a room in you. Thanks to a great lottery number, was i able to enjoy your facilities for my sophomore year. being on campus, you're convenient and safe. being a high-rise apartment boasting 15 floors, you offer great views. (of downtown LA or the practice football field) sadly, being remodeled and new, you are demanded by many others, who wish to woo you...and win you over. so, sadly, i must depart. good bye. thanks for the memories.

Webb Tower isn't really bad or anything, I just think it's overrated. Sure it's new, and on campus (which is probably its best quality) but I think that its a high price to pay for what you get. The room that you share with another person is pretty small for 2 people. When I would sit at my desk and lean back to stretch I would touch my roommate's chair. oops. Oh and it didn't help that both my roommate and I were from out of state. That meant our closet was stuffed to the max and we just had a ton of stuff all over. But then again, it is new so the couches and kitchen appliances etc are nice. It's just that it's too expensive for what you get in my opinion.

It's a great place to live. The view you can possibly get of campus can be breath taking. You can even watch the oh so exclusive football team practice on the field if you oh so chose to. Spacious, modern, and probably one of the top picks for sophomore housing.

Probably the best on-campus dorming situation on USC. When my family helped me move in, they were awed. When friends from Occidental came to visit, they were awed. Because I do a lot of daily cooking, this place was perfect for me and my room-mate. Everything's really nice, save the elevators, which break all the time. But it's sure not trashy, and very quiet, and there's air-conditioning (thank the lord!) as well as heating. Seriously, it's the best dorming situation that USC has to offer, and I love it.

I miss this place but it definitely isn't the end of the world if you don't get Webb Tower for your Sophomore housing. Pros: 1. nice view of school or Los Angeles sky line depending on which room you choose. 2. the place is large: huge common room furnished with couches, large kitchen area, two double bedrooms + a function bathroom? winning. 3. right on the corner of campus so yes it is convenient having that extra few minutes of sleep before rushing off to classes. 4. all utilities are included in billing= YAY FOR FAST WIRELESS! 5. pretty fast response to repairing issues. Broken shower head= fixed. leaking roof top= fixed. 6. relatively quiet, the higher up you are (floor wise). 7. air conditioning/ heater appliances available = yesssssssssss! Cons: 1. it's pretty pricey for what it offers. Cardinal Gardens isn't a bad place to stay at and yes it doesn't include some stuff but it's cheaper to live in? 2. Saturday mornings + band practice. invest in ear plugs please. 3. two elevators to go up 15 floors (technically 14 because there is no 13th floor). stairs are shut and opened only for EMERGENCY purposes so yes you can go DOWN via stairs but you can't go back UP to your room via stairs. I lived on the 14th floor and there were around 3-4 occasions where both elevators were broken. EFF. 4. moving in and moving out. it's worse than traffic on the 110. please do yourself a favor and plan ahead. Or move in smaller portions if you live nearby? Or just time it better. So much waiting for elevators to come up and down the floors, it's not even funny. 5. so hard to get! you need a good lottery time slot to snag a room here. 6. sometimes phone reception is on and off depending on where you stand in your apartment. 7. lack of microwave. SAY WHAT?? O_O...?? WHY NO MICROWAVE? UGH. 8. as soon as you move out, you get charged for EVERY PAINT SCUFF POSSIBLE. rawr. either way, i miss this place so I just suddenly decided to write a review. TEHE!

usc webb tower tour

USC Webb Tower

Los angeles, california.

Built in 1972, Webb Tower is a 14-story residential tower providing student housing in an apartment-like setting with private bathrooms. The existing building is a concrete post-tensioned moment frame structure located on the main downtown campus of the University of Southern California (USC).

A preliminary analysis performed by Saiful Bouquet Inc. on the existing building identified seismic concerns that could result in significant structural damage during a major ground shaking. SB designed a retrofit scheme that would mitigate the major seismic deficiencies in the building, and meet the intent of the current building code which is “retrofitted buildings should, in general, be able to resist a major level of earthquake ground motion without collapse, but possibly with some structural as well as non-structural damage.”

Our seismic upgrade consisted of adding new exterior Buckling Restrained Brace Frames (BRBF) to improve the overall lateral load resisting capability of the building, as well as its stiffness against deflection. The new BRBF’s provided the necessary stiffness, strength, and ductility required in the event of a strong seismic disturbance. The use of BRBF braces minimized obstruction to office views and is less expensive and less intrusive than a conventional concrete shear wall scheme.

Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

What is the kremlin in russia?

The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.

There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.

Go beneath the streets on this tour of the spectacular, mind-bending Moscow Metro! Be awed by architecture and spot the Propaganda , then hear soviet stories from a local in the know. Finish it all up above ground, looking up to Stalins skyscrapers, and get the inside scoop on whats gone on behind those walls.

Know More about this tour

We begin our Moscow tour beneath the city, exploring the underground palace of the Moscow Metro. From the Square of Revolution station, famous for its huge statues of soviet people (an armed soldier, a farmer with a rooster, a warrior, and more), we’ll move onto some of the most significant stations, where impressive mosaics, columns, and chandeliers will boggle your eyes! Moreover, these stations reveal a big part of soviet reality — the walls depict plenty of Propaganda , with party leaders looking down from images on the walls. Your local guide will share personal stories of his/her family from USSR times, giving you insight into Russia’s complicated past and present. Then we’re coming back up to street level, where we’ll take a break and refuel with some Russian fast food: traditional pancakes, called bliny. And then, stomachs satiated, we are ready to move forward! We’ll take the eco-friendly electric trolleybus, with a route along the Moscow Garden Ring. Used mainly by Russian babushkas(grannies) during the day, the trolleybus hits peak hours in the mornings and evenings, when many locals use it going to and from their days. Our first stop will be the Aviator’s House, one of Stalin’s Seven Sisters, followed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs — and you’ll hear the legends of what has gone on inside the walls. Throughout your Moscow tour, you’ll learn curious facts from soviet history while seeing how Russia exists now, 25 years after the USSR.

Traveler Reviews

This tour exceeded our expectations. Nikolai (Nick), our tour guide, was very knowledgeable, thorough, and has a great personality. He didn't take shortcuts and really covered everything that was on the agenda in great detail. We saw beautiful metro stations and learned the history behind them, including many of the murals and designs.

We did the tour with Anna her knowledge and understanding of the History surrounding the metro brought the tour alive. Well done Anna!
