Jhalana Safari Booking Details

All the procedures for Jhalana Leopard Safari booking are fully administered and managed by the forest officials of the Jhalana leopard reserve. The Jhalana Safari Park area is divided into 2 Safari zones or routes, and the safari tour is organized in all the zones. The Jhalana Leopard Safari booking service is available for all the zones of the park.

Therefore, choosing the safari vehicle & driver is not in our hands. All these are entirely decided by the forest administrators on a random basis managed by the automated computerized system to make sure the distribution of Jhalana safari vehicles is equal in every zone.

According to the current  Jhalana Safari Booking policy, the 10 jeeps of 6-seaters are allowed to enter the Jhalana Leopard Reserve in one shift. In the Jhalana Leopard Reserve, the safari tour is allowed in two shifts; morning shift, Evening shift, you have the choice to choose your safari shift time. Other than that you have the option to do Half Day & Full Day Safari in Jhalana Leopard Safari.

The Jhalana leopard Reserve online booking is done on a first-come, first-served basis and you must have to pay the full fee in advance for the Jhalana safari booking. The vehicle is allotted on the day of the Jhalana Forest safari and the fee for a confirmed seat in a Jeep is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Things to Keep in Mind For Jhalana Safari Booking :

• You have to pay full fees in advance to book a safari in Jhalana Leopard Reserve.
• ID proof is mandatory for every visitor.
• No refund or cancellation is allowed on approved bookings.
• Booking is neither transferable nor exchangeable with anyone.
• You must have to carry a similar ID card that you have submitted during online booking.
• You can book jungle safaris 90 days in advance.
• Passport details are obligatory for all foreign tourists for making reservations.
• Safari permits are issued on a first-come, first-served basis (subject to availability).
• Park may be closed without any prior notice to visitors.
• In case of any revision of fees after the booking or incomplete occupancy visitors will be liable to pay the difference at the time of entry into the park.
• The visitors are required to report at the boarding point 25 min prior to the scheduled departure of the safari.

It is always recommended to book jungle safari and hotels in advance. As there is a heavy rush on weekends and holidays.

The morning safari usually starts half an hour after the sunrise and the Evening safari concluded half an hour before the sunset and the night safari an hour after sunset. Thus, the timing changes accordingly with the changing of seasons. The safari duration is a maximum of two and a half hours.

There are 10 jeeps available in advance quota for each shift. You can book the gypsy maximum 90 days in advance. Children below 6 years can visit Jhalana free of cost.

There is a three-story hunting lodge called “Shikaar Audi” in Jhalana Leopard Reserve. It belongs to Jaipur’s royal family. In this building you can witness a picturesque sunrise and sunset at the animal spotting platform. There are better chances for leopard spotting from this lodge.

According to a notice by the Rajasthan Forest Department, no safaris can be booked via private channels. The notice stated that you can book your safaris on the official forest department website, fmdss.forest.rajasthan.gov.in , and no place else.

• INR 706 per person (Indian)

Only six people are allowed per jeep, and this does not include the driver and children below 5 years. These safaris can enter either zone – Jhalana or Amagarh . The tourists are taken on a safari in Jhalana Forest Reserve in two shifts – one in the morning and the other in the evening. While the exact timing might change with the season, here is the most common timing for all seasons.

Needless to say, you stay in the jungle for nearly two and a half hours. This duration may also slightly change depending on the weather conditions and season.

It is always a good practice to reach the Jhalana reserve entry gate on time because the entry and exit are strictly monitored by the forest department. If you are too late, you would miss the gypsy that you have booked for the leopard safari.

Keep in mind that it’s a wildlife destination so the park might be closed for visitors in special circumstances without prior notice. But it rarely happens.

Best time to visit Jhalana Leopard Safari

Unlike many other wildlife destinations such as Ranthambore National Park and Sariska Tiger Reserve, the Jhalana leopard Safari is open to tourists throughout the year. Ranthambore and Sariska are kept closed during the monsoon season when it’s mating time for the tigers. However, there are no such restrictions for Jhalana.

The best time to visit Jhalana is from October to March when the weather is not too hot. You can also consider visiting Jhalana during the monsoon season if you love greenery and natural surroundings. You should probably avoid visiting the forest reserve during the summer months because the weather is too hot, but an advantage of visiting from April to June is that you may have a better chance of spotting a leopard as they are more likely to stay close to water bodies in the reserve.

There might be a slight change in the timing depending on the season. For example, tourists are taken on safari earlier in the morning and later in the evening during the summer months compared to the winter months.

It’s too hot during the summer months in Jaipur. The temperature can reach 45 degrees Celsius, but since the safari starts early, you can visit the reserve in the morning shift which might start as early as 5.45 am. Jhalana Leopard Safari Park is a National Park that is located in Jaipur. It is also called the land of leopards due to the residence of more than 30 leopards in a small forest area. This Park is only 7 km away from the domestic airport and is well connected by all other mediums of transportation as well. You can also visit Jhalana Leopard Safari Park via train. The Jaipur Railway Junction is 13 km away. Another option is to travel by bus. This too would be convenient because Sindhi Camp Bus Stand is only 11 km away.
