Fantastic experience: Our family had a book-a-climb today. Basically a coach will help you put on the harness and guide you to different rock climbing sites. Brian was a very good coach. He accompanied us the whole time, patient, and focused, and made sure we were safe and had fun. Overall a very good experience!

Fantastic experience: I just attended an event at Movement Climbing Gym and I had a blast. The facilities are top notch and huge! The staff is super friendly and positive and encouraging. They are very big on safety and make sure everyone climbs safely. They are also inclusive and queer friendly. I can't recommend this place enough. Oh, and yes bring the kids!

Fantastic experience: Great place no matter what level you are. Learn to climb, find partners, or continue your growth. Free fitness and yoga classes for members! Really welcoming staff and members.

Fantastic experience: Great setting. The difficulty definitely scales with technical ability and not simply making the holds smaller. Always quite fun!

World class.

In the world of rock climbing gyms, this one is in the top 5%. It is the 2nd or 3rd largest in the world, which means that there is a great variety in style and difficulty of climbs. The facility is well-appointed and their shop is well curated as well.

The facility is very large, with opportunities for climbers at all levels of experience to find plenty of challenging tracks in both traditional climbing and bouldering. The staff is very helpful and very focused on safety first. One complaint is that there is not sufficient parking.

Earth Treks in Rockville is an amazing indoor climbing gym. This huge facility is tucked behind Marlo Furniture and is much bigger than you'd suspect from the outside. Furthermore, it's bright and spacious, giving it a welcoming vibe to the novice and seasoned climbers alike. Even visitors who've never climbed before will find plenty of climbing routes to try. Full-time setters change out routes often enough that even regulars will find plenty to keep them challenged. The gym offers open climbs for newcomers who have never climbed before, plus solid intro classes. Everything is clean and modern looking, and you can tell they take safety very seriously. Pros: Huge facility, with lots of top rope and lead climbing routes, as well as a nice bouldering area. The workout room is well-kept and equipped with nice machines. Great teachers for the classes, which are offered often. Cons: While this gym is somewhat metro accessible, it's still a bit of a walk from the closest station. And the parking lot is usually packed. It does get crowded at peak times. The bouldering is more suited for people who are pretty good. Not a lot to do if you're climbing V0s and V1s.

This gym has it all: lead and top roping, bouldering, gym, classes, etc. I just wish the parking situation was better so leave early at peak times (4-7) during the week. Staff is awesome!

Great for beginners, excellent facility with lots of options. Starting to get a little crowded during peak hours. Otherwise would have given it 5 stars. But climbers are like surfers and are very friendly and supportive.

Our 10 year old son was begging to visit Earth Treks for weeks before we finally gave in with much trepidation, but we had a blast. We were all first time climbers without a clue of what to do and fear we would fall. The staff was great in encouraging us and selecting the right wall. My son quickly became a pro and we enjoyed it too. We could easily get hooked! Its a great workout and teaches concentration and coordination. We will definitely go again. Great family fun!
