Taylor Swift; Beyoncé; Drake

Dozens of artists hit the road during 2023 to bring their music to sold-out venues across the globe.

The first half of the year started off strong with artists and bands like Harry Styles, Journey, Carrie Underwood, SZA, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Reba McEntire, Janet Jackson, Lizzo, Blink-182, Charlie Puth, Billy Idol, Wiz Khalifa, Bebe Rexha and Black Pink heading out on their headlining tours.

Some artists had such sought-after tickets for their tours, including Taylor Swift and Beyoncé, that it led to sites, such as Ticketmaster, completely crashing when tickets dropped.

Many summer nights were also filled with good tunes this year as artists including Alicia Keys, Post Malone, Paramore, Chris Stapleton, Boygenius, Lionel Richie, Melissa Etheridge and Maggie Rogers set out on tours during the warmer months.

Concert tours are not only an opportunity for artists to promote their latest albums or to highlight their entire music catalogs, but it’s also a chance for their fans to come together to celebrate the music and musicians that they look up to and love. Those attending shows for artists such as Swift, Beyoncé and Styles often dress to impress, going all out for their outfits. Beyoncé even asked her fans to specifically come to her Virgo season concerts for her Renaissance World Tour decked out in silver and chrome, to celebrate her astrological sign. Swifties, inspired by the lyric “Make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it …” from her song “You’re on Your Own, Kid,” made themed bracelets to trade and hand out to other fans at each of the stops on her Eras Tour.

The performers often praise their fans for all their love and support, like Swift writing on social media in July after her stops in Seattle, Washington, “Thank you for everything. All the cheering, screaming, jumping, dancing, singing at the top of your lungs.”

But if you missed the opportunity to see your favorite artists earlier this year, don’t worry, because The Hollywood Reporter has compiled a list of some of the most anticipated concert tours happening this fall, below.

The 44 Most Anticipated Tours of 2024: Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny, Olivia Rodrigo, and More

By Pitchfork

Mitski Burna Boy Olivia Rodrigo and more

It’s looking like a busy year for some of the world’s biggest touring artists, with packed schedules from Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, Bad Bunny, Foo Fighters, the Rolling Stones, Red Hot Chili Peppers, U2, Green Day, and many more. A few touring institutions, meanwhile, are just wrapping up, from Adele’s time in Las Vegas to Billy Joel’s Madison Square Garden residency and Bob Dylan’s seemingly never-ending Rough and Rowdy Ways trek. Some things, however, just never seem to change: You can expect the Ty Segalls and King Gizzards of the world to feature on these roundups till kingdom come, with reliable indie-rock staples like Destroyer, Wednesday, and Alvvays still out in force fighting for the cause, too.

After a residency that has spanned the best part of a year and brought hundreds of thousands of Adele fans to Las Vegas, the Tottenham superstar is closing the run with dates from January through June. “This residency, these shows have changed my life. I desperately needed to fall back in love with performing live again, and I have,” she said in the announcement. “It’s just made me realize how much I really enjoy being on stage, that I’m bloody good at it and that it is 100% where I belong! So let’s go one last time before I turn into a showgirl forever!” –Jazz Monroe

Tool haven’t released new music since 2019’s Fear Inoculum , but they’ve remained busy on the road. Following headlining and festival dates last year, the band has stadium and arena shows in January and February. Wondering what wild outfit Maynard James Keenan will wear this time? Will it be a blonde wig, red lipstick, and prosthetic breasts? A leather jumpsuit and a wild mohawk? Might as well go to one of these shows and find out. –Evan Minsker and Matthew Ismael Ruiz

Tool in Concert

With her new album, What an Enormous Room , out January 26, Mackenzie Scott is spending January to April on the road. Torres starts the year with January dates across the United States with Aisha Burns. For the first two weeks of February, she’s over in Europe and the United Kingdom for a bunch of shows, and then she’s back in the United States in late March and early April with shows alongside Liza Anne. –Evan Minsker

Torres: 2024 Tour

One can never be sure exactly what to expect from a Ty Segall show, especially here in the post–Freedom Band era. His sets can be electric and wild, acoustic and intimate, maybe a bit psychedelic. With his 2024 dates behind the new album Three Bells , you can likely expect him to lean into his prog rock impulses. After some West Coast dates in February, he’s heading across North America in April and May. –Evan Minsker

Tyler Childers

Kentucky’s Tyler Childers is a real champion of country music, honoring its history while expanding the genre’s palette and challenging the dominant attitudes of the industry’s principal players. Soon, he will play some of the biggest venues of his career on his Mule Pull Tour, including New York’s Madison Square Garden and Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. Hayes Carll, 49 Winchester, Sylvan Esso, and Allison Russell will join Childers at different stops of the U.S. run. –Allison Hussey

During a Super Bowl musically dominated by the long-awaited return of Rihanna, U2 shared a commercial featuring a baby’s face in an orb. That mystical child heralded the band’s Las Vegas shows, where they’ve performed their 1991 album, Achtung Baby , from September into the first months of 2024. U2:UV Achtung Baby Live at the Sphere marked the opening of the MSG Sphere at the Venetian, which seats 17,500. With Larry Mullen Jr. taking time away from the band to recover from surgery, Bram van den Berg is playing drums at the shows. In a statement accompanying the announcement, the Edge used the phrase “the beauty of the Sphere” (speaking of the venue and not the baby from the Super Bowl spot). –Evan Minsker

Wednesday—whose singer, Karly Hartzmann, has openly chronicled the hurdles for indie bands to break even on tour—take to the road again in early 2024, still revving the gas behind their shaggy triumph Rat Saw God . In October, Wednesday shared a deeper peek at their lives together with the half-hour documentary Rat Bastards of Haw Creek , directed by their longtime friend Zach Romeo. They’ll begin in their native North Carolina in January, playing dates with Hotline TNT and They Hate Change through the next month, followed by another springtime leg with Draag in the western half of the United States. –Allison Hussey

Concert tours to see this fall

Some iconic rock bands are saying their final farewells

  • Newsletter sign up Newsletter

Steven Tyler

They just can't wait to get on the road again. Taylor Swift may have wrapped up the first U.S. leg of her Eras Tour , but plenty of other artists will be swinging by a city near you this fall, including a few legendary rock bands saying their supposedly final farewells. Here are some of the biggest concert tours to check out in the fall — or, if you aren't able to snag tickets, at least enjoy vicariously through TikTok.

Janelle Monáe

Put on your lipstick, lover, as she's ready to make you feel. After dropping a sensual new studio album in June, Janelle Monáe embarked on her Age of Pleasure Tour late last month. Throughout the fall, she'll be stopping by more than 20 cities, including Atlanta, Chicago, Boston, and New York City, and the closing night is scheduled for Oct. 18 at California's YouTube Theater. Might Cassandra Brand make a guest appearance?

The dream is coming to an end. More than 50 years after Aerosmith's formation, the legendary rock band recently embarked on a farewell tour, Peace Out, that will continue into early next year. "It's not goodbye it's PEACE OUT!" they said . "Get ready and walk this way, you're going to get the best show of our lives." The tour, which features special guest The Black Crowes, includes 40 dates, and the closing night is currently scheduled for Jan. 26 at Montreal's Bell Centre. According to the band, drummer Joey Kramer "has regrettably made the decision to sit out the currently scheduled touring dates to focus his full attention on his family and health."

There are plenty of goodbyes to go around from legendary rock bands this fall. The Eagles have also embarked on a farewell tour dubbed The Long Goodbye, which began at Madison Square Garden on Sept. 7. "Our long run has lasted far longer than any of us ever dreamed," the band said . "But, everything has its time, and the time has come for us to close the circle." Steely Dan is joining the Eagles for the shows. But when the band says "long" goodbye, they're not kidding. The Eagles "will perform as many shows in each market as their audience demands," a press release said , and the tour is expected to continue into 2025.

Peter Gabriel

Original Genesis lead singer Peter Gabriel is preparing to finally release his long-awaited album "I/O," his first record of entirely new original material since 2002. Several songs from it have already been released, though, with Gabriel dropping one every full moon . He's also bringing his i/o – The Tour to North America in September and October. According to his website , the shows feature Gabriel playing new material from the upcoming album in addition to past hits, and his regular bandmates Tony Levin, David Rhodes and Manu Katché join him.

Ms. Lauryn Hill

It's been 25 years since Ms. Lauryn Hill's acclaimed debut solo album "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill," and you can celebrate the occasion with her. Hill embarked on a tour to celebrate the album's anniversary on Sept. 8, and it's scheduled to run through November. "'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill' is and was a love song to my parents, my family, my people, my musical and cultural forebears, my teachers, my loves, my Creator," she said . "I wrote love songs and protest songs — (still love songs) about the subjects and interests that inspired and moved me." The tour will also see Hill reunite with The Fugees.

Queen + Adam Lambert

They will continue to rock you. Queen and Adam Lambert's epic Rhapsody Tour began all the way back in July 2019, but before it wraps up, it's returning to North America this October. This latest leg includes stops in New York, Boston, Philadelphia, and Chicago. "Our last tour featured our most ambitious production ever," Brian May said . "So we decided to rip it apart and get even more ambitious. Watch out world." Lambert, meanwhile, said he "can't wait to tour North America one more time." Don't stop them now.

Pink has certainly been keeping busy in 2023. The singer is going right from her Summer Carnival tour, which USA Today dubbed "exhilarating" and "enthralling," into yet another tour: the Trustfall Tour, tied to her ninth studio album. "This might be the album I'm most proud of," Pink previously said . "Get in your coziest pair of sweats, grab yourself an hour of self-care, and start on track one. Two ingredients needed: tissues and dance shoes." The tour will commence in October, and it includes stops at Madison Square Garden in November.

Wynonna Judd

"Two words," Wynonna Judd said when she announced she'd be hitting the road this fall. "...NUH-STALGIA." On the singer's Back To Wy Tour, she promises to take fans back to the 1990s by performing her first two solo albums, "Wynonna" and "Tell Me Why," in their entirety. "Getting to share this tour with the fans who have been with me for 40 years, means the world to me," she shared. "Deep diving into my first two solo albums, track by track, will be such a trip down memory lane." The tour is set to kick off on Oct. 26 in Indianapolis.

She's ready to paint your town red. After declaring her last two albums were "cash-grabs" and mocking fans who "fell for it," Doja Cat is dropping her fourth record, "Scarlet," in September. She'll then embark on her first North American arena tour, which consists of more than 20 stops and kicks off on Halloween night. On select dates, the rapper will be joined by special guests Ice Spice and Doechii — and, based on her recent single , possibly a demon or two. Paging Ed and Lorraine Warren.

It's time for one last kiss. Yet another iconic rock band will be taking an allegedly final bow this fall, as Kiss will wrap up its End of the Road World Tour that began in January 2019. The final North American leg begins in Cincinnati this October, and the closing shows are set for Madison Square Garden in December. "Kiss was born in New York City," the band said . "On 23rd Street. Half a century ago. It will be a privilege and honor to finish touring at Madison Square Garden, 10 blocks and 50 years from where we first started." But considering Kiss already launched a "farewell" tour more than 20 years ago in 2000, it may be worth taking these claims with a grain of salt.

Fall 2023 music preview: The season's most anticipated albums, tours, and festivals

Fall 2023 music preview: the season's most anticipated albums, tours, and festivals, taylor swift revisits 1989 , keanu reeves resurrects dogstar, pop queen kylie minogue returns, and country legend dolly parton is ready to ... rock.

Clockwise from left: Nicki Minaj (Photo by Jon Kopaloff/Getty Images); Dogstar (Photo: Brian Bowen Smith); Taylor Swift (Photo by John Medina/Getty Images); Kylie Minogue (Tension album cover: Haris Nuken/Studio Moross)

It seems inconceivable that summer is already ending, but here we are. And that’s okay, because it means it’s time for fall, one of the very best times for cozy music listening. This autumn, we’re getting some big pop albums from the likes of Kylie Minogue, Nicki Minaj, Olivia Rodrigo, and a new version of 1989 from Taylor Swift . We’re also getting big rock albums from (checks notes) Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Dolly Parton , and Keanu Reeves, who recently reunited with Dogstar after a 23-year break. Other artists dropping albums this fall include Slowdive, James Blake, the Chemical Brothers, Mitski, Animal Collective, Wilco, Sufjan Stevens, and the Mountain Goats. And we’re getting plenty of tours, concerts, and music festivals, too.

Slowdive: Everything Is Alive [September 1]

1990s shoegaze legends Slowdive resurfaced in 2017 with an incredible self-titled album, their first in 22 years. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait another two decades for more, as their new album Everything Is Alive will arrive at the beginning of September. Although it’s dedicated to singer Rachel Goswell’s mother and drummer Simon Scott’s father, who both passed away in 2020, Everything Is Alive feels more comforting than mournful. “It wouldn’t feel right to make a really dark record right now,” vocalist Neil Halstead says. “The album is quite eclectic emotionally, but it does feel hopeful.”

Courtney Barnett: End Of The Day (Music From The Film Anonymous Club) [September 8]

Australian singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett might be one of indie rock’s greatest lyricists, but her new album is going in a very different direction. Originally created with Stella Mozgawa to score the 2021 documentary Anonymous Club , End Of the Day consists of 17 instrumental improvisations that eschew Barnett’s usual sardonic storytelling and guitar riffage in favor of meditative ambient bliss.

James Blake: Playing Robots Into Heaven [September 8]

Before he embarked on his career as a melancholic digital-age crooner, James Blake made his name on a series of forward-thinking dance music EPs. His new album Playing Robots Into Heaven is touted as a return to his experimental electronic roots, featuring a tracklist free of big-name guests and inviting glitchy club beats and bloopy ambient instrumentals into his signature sound.

Olivia Rodrigo: GUTS [September 8]

Former Disney Channel actress Olivia Rodrigo emerged as a fully formed pop superstar on her 2021 debut SOUR. The young singer-songwriter is getting ready to follow it up with the new album GUTS, and the two singles we’ve heard so far, the grandly theatrical “Vampire” and the ’90s pop-rock blast “bad idea right?,” have both been fantastic. “For me, this album is about growing pains and trying to figure out who I am at this point in my life,” Rodrigo says. “I feel like I grew 10 years between the ages of 18 and 20—it was such an intense period of awkwardness and change. I think that’s all just a natural part of growth, and hopefully the album reflects that.”

Romy: Mid Air [September 8]

The xx’s Romy Madley Croft is stepping out of the shadows and onto the dance floor on her debut solo album Mid Air, produced by frequent collaborators like Fred again.., Stuart Price, and Jamie xx. “ Mid Air is a collection of songs celebrating love, navigating loss and exploring identity,” she explains. “It’s musically inspired by dance music ... it’s a love letter to the queer clubs I first went to when I was growing up and people I met there and the music I heard that has made me feel more alive and less alone.”

Sparklehorse: Bird Machine [September 8]

Mark Linkous, the man behind the cultishly beloved indie rock project Sparklehorse, died by suicide in 2010. Thirteen years later, we’re getting an entirely new Sparklehorse album. Built from 2009 recordings with Steve Albini for a never-released Sparklehorse LP, Bird Machine was completed by Linkous’ brother Matt, sister-in-law Melissa, and producer Alan Weatherhead, augmenting the nearly finished songs with subtle additions while staying true to Linkous’ vision. “It was as though the songs let you know,” Melissa says. “Mark communicated these songs. We just did our best to transmit them.”

The Chemical Brothers: For That Beautiful Feeling [September 8]

The Chemical Brothers have been making music together for over three decades now, and “that beautiful feeling” of dance floor euphoria is what they’ve been chasing throughout their whole career. On For That Beautiful Feeling , which features collaborations with Beck and Halo Maud, the long-running U.K. electronic duo sound as fresh and vital as ever.

Alan Palomo: World Of Hassle [September 15]

You might know Alan Palomo as the mastermind behind Neon Indian, the electronic pop project that both pioneered and outlasted the late-’00s chillwave boom. World Of Hassle is Palomo’s first album to be released under his own name, but it isn’t exactly a radical shakeup in sound, presenting a playfully absurdist alternate reality full of squelchy synth-funk and gloriously chintzy ’80s nostalgia.

Explosions in the Sky: End [September 15]

Explosions in the Sky, masters of sweepingly cinematic post-rock, have a new album on the way. Despite its title, End isn’t the Texan band’s final album, just a meditation on “the concept of an ending—death, or the end of a friendship or relationship,” as they explain. “The end of a thing or a time can mean a stop, but it can also mean a beginning, and what happens after one thing ends might pale in comparison to what it becomes next.” Here’s hoping that End is only the beginning.

Mitski: The Land Is Inhospitable And So Are We [September 15]

Mitski’s new album The Land Is Inhospitable And So Are We features an orchestra arranged and conducted by Drew Erickson and a full 17-person choir arranged by Mitski herself. The choir is one of the most immediately striking elements of the record’s fantastic lead single “Bug Like An Angel,” which begins and ends in stark simplicity but nevertheless grasps the grand cathartic transcendence of Mitski’s finest material.

Nation of Language: Strange Disciple [September 15]

Over the past several years, New York synth-pop trio Nation of Language have gone from playing small local gigs to headlining international stages and late-night shows. Their well-deserved ascent continues with their third album Strange Disciple , recorded in East Williamsburg, New York, and produced by Holy Ghost!’s Nick Millhiser. NoL have never released a bad song, and with this record, that streak remains blessedly unbroken.

Riot Fest [September 15–17]

Chicago’s Riot Fest is returning to Douglass Park from September 15–17. Festival circuit mainstays Foo Fighters are headlining alongside Turnstile, the Postal Service, Death Cab for Cutie, Queens of the Stone Age, the Cure, and the Mars Volta. The bill is rounded out by Mr. Bungle, Tegan And Sara, 100 gecs, the Gaslight Anthem, Death Grips, AFI, 070 Shake, the Breeders, Kim Gordon, Viagra Boys, PUP, George Clinton’s Parliament Funkadelic, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Ride, Cults, Code Orange, White Reaper, Thursday, Jehnny Beth, Oso Oso, Origami Angel, Warpaint, Nothing, Screaming Females, Insane Clown Posse, and plenty more.

Devendra Banhart: Flying Wig [September 22]

If you only remember Devendra Banhart as the poster child for the 2000s freak folk movement, you might be surprised by how slick and cosmopolitan his new record sounds. Flying Wig is a synth-heavy collaboration with Banhart’s Mexican Summer labelmate Cate Le Bon. “It’s about transmuting despair into gratitude, wounds into forgiveness, and grief into praise,” Banhart says, and it “sounds like getting a very melancholic massage, or weeping, but in a really nice outfit … if I’m going to cry, I wanna do it in my best dress.”

Kylie Minogue: Tension [September 22]

It’s safe to say that “Padam Padam” was one of the songs of the summer. On her new album Tension , Australian pop queen Kylie Minogue is returning to the classic electro-pop sound that defined hits like 2003’s “Slow.” And if the rest of it is anywhere close to as catchy as “Padam Padam,” it’ll have your heart going padam padam in no time.

Animal Collective: Isn’t It Now? [September 29]

The songs on Animal Collective’s new album Isn’t It Now? were written during the same monthlong residency in the Tennessee countryside that birthed last year’s Time Skiffs . The rest were saved until they could be recorded in person with producer Russell Elevado (D’Angelo, The Roots, Common, Kamasi Washington), and the result is yet another sterling example of AnCo’s irrepressible creativity.

Armand Hammer: We Buy Diabetic Test Strips [September 29]

Since their last album together as Armand Hammer, 2021’s Haram , Elucid and billy woods have both released great solo albums. On We Buy Diabetic Test Strips , their upcoming LP and first for Fat Possum, they reunite alongside producers including JPEGMAFIA, El-P, Kenny Segal, and Black Noi$e and guests like Moor Mother, Soul Glo’s Pierce Jordan (aka Money Nicca), Pink Siifu, and Junglepussy. If you like your rap weird and noisy, this one’s for you.

Gunship: Unicorn [September 29]

British synthwave band Gunship have a new album on the horizon, and it boasts a whole lot of big name guest collaborators. Iconic filmmaker and musician John Carpenter, whose ’80s synthesizer work basically led to the genesis of the entire synthwave genre, is on the record, as is Bush’s Gavin Rossdale, Slayer’s Dave Lombardo, John Wick / Guardians Of The Galaxy composer Tyler Bates, Tina Turner/ Lost Boys saxophonist extraordinaire Tim Cappello, HEALTH, Britta Philips, and more.

Wilco: Cousin [September 29]

Jeff Tweedy has been remarkably prolific in the past few years, but what makes the upcoming Cousin special is the fact that it was produced by Welsh art-pop auteur Cate Le Bon, marking the first time in nearly two decades that Wilco have brought in an outside producer. “The amazing thing about Wilco is they can be anything,” Le Bon says. “They’re so mercurial, and there’s this thread of authenticity that flows through everything they do, whatever the genre, whatever the feel of the record. There aren’t many bands who are able to, this deep into a successful career, successfully change things up.”

Sufjan Stevens: Javelin [October 6]

Javelin, Sufjan Stevens’ first official solo album since 2020’s The Ascension , is billed as “his first in full solo singer-songwriter mode since 2015’s Carrie & Lowell ” and “a testament to classic ’70s Los Angeles studio recording sessions.” If you’re a certain kind of Sufjan fan, that’s enough to get you salivating. And if you’re any kind of Sufjan fan, the slowly unfurling majesty of lead single “So You Are Tired” is enough to win you over completely.

Dogstar: Somewhere Between The Power Lines And Palm Trees [October 6]

In the ’90s, Keanu Reeves played bass in an alt-rock band called Dogstar. They broke up in 2002. But the Keanaissance triumphs over all, and Dogstar are returning soon with their first album in 23 years, Somewhere Between The Power Lines And Palm Trees . Their music still sounds like classic ’90s alt-rock, and you’ll get a chance to see them on tour this fall.

Austin City Limits [October 6–8, October 13–15]

Image for article titled Fall 2023 music preview: The season's most anticipated albums, tours, and festivals

The headliners at the two-weekend Austin City Limits festival this year are a bit of a mixed bag of good and meh: Kendrick Lamar, Foo Fighters, Mumford & Sons, Odesza, the Lumineers, Shania Twain, Alanis Morissette, the 1975, Hozier. That said, there’s plenty of great stuff on the undercard, like Kali Uchis, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Maggie Rogers, Lil Yachty, Tove Lo, Death Grips, M83, Rina Sawayama, Tegan and Sara, the Breeders, the Walkmen, Jessie Ware, Ethel Cain, Yves Tumor, Sudan Archives, Miya Folick, Little Simz, Chromeo, and the Mars Volta.

Jamila Woods: Water Made Us [October 13]

Idiosyncratic neo-soul singer Jamila Woods is one of the leading lights of the Chicago music and poetry scene. She’s described her upcoming album Water Made Us, named after a line from the track “Good News” that references a Toni Morrison quote, as “the most personal and vulnerable piece of art I’ve ever made ... I hope it feels like a playlist that carries you through the life cycle of a relationship, whatever stage of the journey your heart may be in.”

Metric: Formentera II [October 13]

Last year, Metric came back with Formentera, their first LP in four years. This year, it’s getting a sequel in Formentera II. “The first part of Formentera started with a huge amount of anxiety and ended in a moment of personal release and freedom,” the band’s Jimmy Shaw explains. “But Formentera II takes that escape even further. The back half of Formentera II really takes you off the map completely and you end up in a place in your mind that is blissfully further from reality.” Lead single “Just The Once” finds the Toronto indie rock veterans exploring some disco-revival-adjacent territory inspired by Dua Lipa’s Future Nostalgia .

Levitation Festival [October 26–29]

Levitation Festival is the Austin psych fest that used to be actually called Austin Psych Fest. It’s got a killer lineup this year, including Flying Lotus, Oneohtrix Point Never, DJ Shadow, Armand Hammer, Panda Bear + Sonic Boom, Ty Segall & Freedom Band, Baths, Bully, BadBadNotGood, Beach Fossils, Sasami, Water From Your Eyes, Jockstrap, High On Fire, Blonde Redhead, Alan Palomo, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, the Black Angels, Codeine, Death From Above 1979, Turnover, Uniform, Palehound, Speedy Ortiz, Militarie Gun, Mercury Rev’s Clear Light Ensemble, and former mortal enemies the Brian Jonestown Massacre and the Dandy Warhols.

Taylor Swift: 1989 (Taylor’s Version) [October 27]

Taylor Swift is going through and rerecording her back catalog to regain control of her masters (and stick it to Scooter Braun, who’s been losing clients left and right lately), and we’ve already gotten Taylor’s Versions of the albums Fearless , Red , and Speak Now . Next on the list is 1989 (Taylor’s Version) , coming out nine years to the day after the original 1989 and including five unreleased tracks. “To be perfectly honest, this is my most FAVORITE re-record I’ve ever done because the 5 From The Vault tracks are so insane,” Swift writes on Instagram. “I can’t believe they were ever left behind. But not for long!”

The Mountain Goats: Jenny From Thebes [October 27]

2002’s All Hail West Texas is one of the Mountain Goats’ most beloved albums. Over 20 years later, it’s getting a sequel in Jenny From Thebes, which is all about about a recurring character in the Mountain Goats universe first introduced in the All Hail West Texas track “Jenny.” “People like to hedge bets by using terms like ‘concept album’ but let’s be clear, this is a rock opera about a woman named Jenny, who buys a Kawasaki to ride as far away as she can from a town she’s been carrying on her shoulders too long,” the Mountain Goats’ John Darnielle says. “If we’re going to do a sequel to a record that was recorded almost entirely on a boombox, why not do the opposite and make it as big as possible?”

Liz Phair Exile In Guyville 30th Anniversary Tour [November 3–December 9]

Liz Phair’s landmark debut album Exile In Guyville turned 30 years old in June. To celebrate the anniversary, she’s going on tour, performing the album in its entirety along with additional hits in a month-long jaunt across America. The tour kicks off November 3 in Pomona, California, and wraps up December 9 in Cleveland, with Blondshell and Kate Bollinger opening.

Dolly Parton: Rockstar [November 17]

That’s right: after being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Dolly Parton is making a rock album. It’s called Rockstar , and it features a murderer’s row of genuine rockstars. Dolly got Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, the two surviving Beatles, to do a “Let It Be” cover with Peter Frampton and Mick Fleetwood. There’s a Heart cover with Ann Wilson, a Police cover with Sting, a Journey cover with Steve Perry, a Creedence Clearwater Revival cover with John Fogerty, a Blondie cover with Debbie Harry, and a “Stairway To Heaven” cover with, uh, Lizzo. There are nine original tracks and 21 covers. Richie Sambora, Howard Lee, John Fogerty, Steven Tyler, Stevie Nicks, Waddy Wachtel, Joan Jett, Chris Stapleton, Miley Cyrus, Pink, Brandi Carlile, Elton John, Melissa Etheridge, Rob Halford, Nikki Sixx, Simon Le Bon, Linda Perry, Emmylou Harris, Sheryl Crow, Pat Benatar, Michael McDonald, and goddamn Kid Rock are on this thing.

Nicki Minaj: Pink Friday 2 [November 17]

Nicki Minaj has been teasing Pink Friday 2 , the sequel to her 2010 debut and her first studio album since 2018’s Queen , for years now. But it looks it’s finally actually coming out in November, and according to Nicki herself, it’s worth the wait. “The eargasms that YALL are about to have,” she tweeted in July. “Ooohhhh chiiiii huntyyyyy don’t make dat serveeeee.”

Barbie isn’t out here just making an economic impact — it’s helping revitalize the nostalgia for Danish dance-pop group AQUA. After celebrating the 25th anniversary of their  Aquarium debut last year, the “Barbie Girl” hitmakers are set to return to the US with a full blown tour dubbed, appropriately enough, “Barbie World Tour.” You know the saying: Come on, Barbie, let’s go party.

One of the summer’s most popular tours is finally coming to North America, as Coldplay have a run of Canadian and US shows set for September. The “Music of the Spheres World Tour” is also one of the greenest major productions on the road , which should make the eco-conscious of us even happier to go check out these select shows. Having support from H.E.R. and 070 Shake probably doesn’t hurt either.

The Most Anticipated Concert Tours Of 2023

Adrian Spinelli

The touring industry is exploding right now. In a blog post written earlier this year, Lorde astutely noted how basically all of the artists who couldn’t tour during the pandemic are now all hitting the stage all at once. And that massive influx of high-profile concert tours is continuing into 2023. From long-awaited concert tours to anniversary celebrations to high-profile comebacks, these are the most anticipated concert tours of 2023.

Arctic Monkeys

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Arctic Monkeys (@arcticmonkeys)

For the first time in nearly ten years, Arctic Monkeys released a new album. The Car , is a cinematic melodrama enacted as debonairly as possible in the way that only Alex Turner and company can. They’re set to make 22 tour stops in North America at the tail end of summer and Dublin’s Fontaines D.C. are opening for them.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Beyoncé (@beyonce)

While Beyoncé hasn’t announced any plans to tour in support of Renaissance yet (or release any music videos from it for that matter) she dropped a $20,000 hint that a tour is coming this summer. You see, at the WACO Theater Wearable Art Gala in October, Beyoncé put up an extravagant package for the charity auction. For $20k, the package description included airline tickets and a meet and greet to, “Beyoncé’s Renaissance 2023 tour.” Shout out to the Bey Hive member who sussed out this caper. ( Update: Beyoncé announced a Renaissance world tour on February 1, 2023.)

In a year that saw them releasing another dynamite album in Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You , Big Thief announced an active schedule of concerts across four continents . But they really made waves this past week in laying out a plan to invite teachers and students to their soundchecks along the tour. The band wants to provide young people with opportunities to engage in learning experiences around creativity, music, playing shows, and songwriting. Awesome.

Not only is Blink 182 back, but guitarist/vocalist Tom DeLonge has rejoined the band making for a full reunion tour . Delonge, drummer Travis barker, and bassist/singer Mark Hoppus are also set to headline a slew of South American festivals, as well as the When We Were Young emo nostalgia fest in Las Vegas. Oh, and a new Blink 182 album is apparently on deck as well.

Bruce Springsteen

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Bruce Springsteen (@springsteen)

Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band are hitting the road in 2023 for the first time since 2017. Yet when news of the US tour dates hit , Ticketmaster’s flexible pricing model sent some seats soaring in the thousands of dollars range and fans were none too pleased. Springsteen answered the critics essentially saying that the imperfect system is what it is, but, “If there’s any complaints on the way out, you can have your money back.” They don’t call him The Boss for nothing.

Death Grips

For the first time in four years, horrorcore trailblazers Death Grips will be going out on tour . The experimental rap trio of Zach Hill, MC Ride, and Andy Morin put on an electric live show, with MC Ride an always visceral presence on the microphone.

It was a tough year for Depeche Mode’s Dave Gahan and Martin Gore when longtime keyboardist Andy “Fletch” Fletcher died in May at the age of 60 . But Depeche Mode are still planning on releasing their new album Memento Mori , this spring. “Fletch would have loved this album,” Gahan said. The Memento Mori World Tour begins in March in the US and only ends in August in Europe.

Hopefully, GloRilla is planning on giving her assistant a raise , because she’s going to be plenty busy with her first-ever headlining tour in 2023. The Anyways, Life’s Great Tour is tabbed as GloRilla “with friends,” so we’ll see who decides to pop up on stage with the Memphis rapper. Could one of those friends be Cardi B at some point? The pair collaborated on the track “Tomorrow 2” which hit the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2022.

Janet Jackson

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Janet Jackson (@janetjackson)

When Janet Jackson announced the Together Again Tour for 2023 , she also promised that “there will be new music.” Not that we really need any, considering how many #hits she’s turned out across the decades, but it definitely adds to the mystique of what the always explosive “That’s The Way Love Goes” singer does on stage. Ludacris is joining her as the opening act, cause why the heck not?

JID and Smino

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

Ben Gibbard will be pulling double duty, but he’s the quintessential rockstar on stage and can more than handle it. This could potentially mean that Hamilton Leithauser, Peter Bauer, and company might finally have a new album by The Walkmen on the horizon. A noted critic of Ticketmaster’s purported monopoly and the exorbitant fees that they tack on concert tickets, Zach Bryan has decided to take matters into his own hands for his upcoming tour. “I’ve decided to play a limited number of headline shows next year to which I’ve done all I can to make prices as cheap as possible and to prove to people tickets don’t have to cost $450 to see a good and honest show,” the country music rising star said on Instagram. The dates have yet to be announced but Bryan has promised them “soon” and you’ve just got to admire the stance he’s taking.

Jojo siwa promised them pop stardom. they say they were ‘thrown in the trash’, biden's meeting with muslim community leaders on gaza was disastrous, chappell roan lectured at harvard and kissed olivia rodrigo all in one day.

Of getting SZA to “talk her shit,” as he put it, on those songs, Versace said, “I believe that spiritually our ancestors, the people around us, they can use us spiritually for whatever we’re trying to convey. I feel like that’s something that she wanted to do. I feel, even though I was telling her to talk her shit, I feel like that was something that she wanted to do too. I feel like she never really got the chance to really do that.”

Editor’s Note: The list features only U.S. tours and is updated on a biweekly basis. Tours that have already ended have been removed from the list .

Ever since the touring industry rebooted in 2021, Latin music has become increasingly popular, with some of its biggest acts announcing tours in 2022 — including Bad Bunny, who closed out the year with a record-breaking $435 million in tour grosses that combine more than 80 concerts from two separate treks (El Último Tour del Mundo and The World’s Hottest Tour).

Colombian star Karol G also made history, becoming the highest U.S.-grossing tour by a female Latin act with her $Trip Love Tour, grossing $69.9 million and selling 410,000 tickets across 33 shows in North America, according to numbers reported to Billboard Boxscore. The “Bichota” singer surpassed Jennifer Lopez‘s $50 million grossing It’s My Party World Tour in 2019.

While Bunny and Karol made the rounds, two of reggaetón’s big dogs, Daddy Yankee and Wisin y Yandel, also kicked off their individual farewell tours.

The former wrapped his La Última Vuelta World Tour with $197.8 million and 1.9 million tickets sold over 83 shows in 2022, making it the second-biggest tour by a Latin artist in Boxscore history. The latter wrapped the year with a historic residency of 14 sold-out concerts at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot, part of the duo’s La Última Misión World Tour.

Other memorable treks last year included Feid, Christian Nodal, Sebastian Yatra, and Rosalía, whose Motomami World Tour grossed $28.1 million through the end of October.

SIBLING TRIO CAIN EXTENDS LIVE & IN COLOR TOUR THIS FALL

33 NEW TOUR DATES ADDED

FEATURING KATY NICHOLE & DAVID LEONARD

NASHVILLE, TN (June 9, 2023) After selling out 22 shows during their first-ever headlining tour this Spring, award winning sibling trio, CAIN , has added 33 new tour dates to their Fall 2023 calendar, extending the CAIN Live & In Color Tour presented by World Vision , promoted by Premier Productions. Joined by the incredible Katy Nichole and GRAMMY nominated artist David Leonard, CAIN Live & In Color will kick off Wednesday, September 20, in Baton Rouge, LA.

“This fall, we are coming to 33 cities across the US on our LIVE AND IN COLOR Tour,” said Taylor Cain. “We were inspired to name the tour LIVE AND IN COLOR because wearing matching colors has become part of our tradition.  We want the audience to join us in wearing the chosen color for each night and together we create a family experience for everyone.”

“We’re trying to do something new with our tour! We want people to get to know who we are and the other artists joining us.” added Logan Cain. “We promise you are going to experience something very unique which includes fun and entertainment as well as ministry, worship and a chance to encounter the presence of God.”

“The spring leg of the tour was so much fun! We want everyone who comes to feel part of our family and to be reminded that we are all part of one body, no one greater and no one less,” said Madison Cain. “So come experience it yourself. We’re waiting for you!”

“We’ve had such great feedback from audiences who attended the spring tour. They have overwhelmingly described the tour as being very “authentic”. There is no divide between the stage and the audience; everyone at the show is on a journey with CAIN, Katy, and David,” said Josh “Mags” Magnin, Talent Buyer, Premier Productions. “Backstage they have created a culture that is reflected onto the stage. The culture of the tour is truly all about family – from the crew, artists, band members, venue staff, and yes, the babies – where they have formed a bond that carries into the entire night. From start to finish, it’s an experience where you journey with all three artists with heartfelt passages, passionate worship moments, and top hits. We have all worked together to craft an experience that will capture the essence of CAIN’s authenticity, passion, and fun-loving spirits from the stage. Premier is excited to launch the fall leg of this tour and continue to tell the story of their ‘Commission.’”

ABOUT CAIN : The music of CAIN quickly became a mainstay at radio since their debut single “Rise Up (Lazarus)” was released in early 2020. Raised in Hartselle, Alabama as pastor’s kids and now residing in Nashville, CAIN – Madison Cain Johnson, Taylor Cain Matz, and Logan Cain – got their first break opening for Dave Barnes and Andrew Ripp at a show in 2012. Now a decade later, they’ve toured with Zach Williams, Casting Crowns, TobyMac, on the K-LOVE Christmas Tour, and performed on the Grand Ole Opry stage. CAIN launched their first tour this past Spring.

They’ve hit No. 1 back-to-back at radio with their first two singles, “Rise Up (Lazarus)” and “Yes He Can,” both songs from their first full-length album  Rise Up.  They also won a K-LOVE Fan Award for Top Breakout Single (“Rise Up (Lazarus).” CAIN is also multi-nominated for the GMA Dove Awards (Best New Artist, Pop/Contemporary Album for  Rise Up , Recorded Music Packaging for  Rise Up , Christmas/Special Event Album for  Wonderful ). They have also been nominated for a 2021 American Music Award (AMA). Their new worship project,  Honest Offering , is out now with new single, “Any More” releasing this Summer.

It has been said that you if spend five minutes with the members of CAIN you’ll feel like you’ve spent the afternoon in the sunshine. Their joy spills over onto each person they meet, their bright smiles as contagious as their stunning harmonies. Pouring their joy into their music, CAIN has discovered what it’s like to live their calling while doing their favorite thing – singing about Jesus.

All are invited to the African Students Association’s annual Tour of Africa— a celebration of the African diaspora with cultural foods, music and performances. Through these activities, the ASA hopes to share the vibrancy and diversity of African traditions firsthand.

Who: Open to the public What: Tour of Africa: Love on the Motherland When: Saturday, April 13, 5–9 p.m. Where: Rec Center, Lower Courts

Doors open at 4:30 p.m.

Register to Attend

This year’s theme, “Love on the Motherland,” incorporates simulated weddings to provide attendees with a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of the different African cultures. The “weddings” will feature couples from Ghana, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Sudan, Congo and Togo. The couples’ identities are kept secret and revealed at the event.

“I have attended the Tour of Africa since my freshman year of high school, and there was nothing I looked forward to more than the annual performance,” ASA President Menna Tarekegne said.

“The performances stopped due to COVID-19. Reviving this event to be bigger and better has been a lot of hard work, but the Tour of Africa magic is back. We are so proud of the work we’ve done and grateful for the help from our performers, sponsors, vendors, and so many more!”

The event is Saturday, April 13. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., and food will start being served at 5 p.m. The event will begin at exactly 6 p.m. and go until 9 p.m. at the Student Recreation Center Lower Courts. The event is free, but registration is required .

Tour of Africa is sponsored by CU student groups, including the African Students Association , Cultural Events Board and CU Student Government .
