Maruti Suzuki has launched the new-gen Dzire Tour S in India. Designed to cater to the fleet market, it is based on the latest-generation model of the Dzire and will be available in both petrol and CNG models. Priced between Rs 6.51 lakh and Rs 7.36 lakh (ex-showroom), Maruti Suzuki Dzire Tour S will replace the existing model based on the second-generation Dzire. It joins other Tour S models such as the Ertiga (Tour M) and Wagon R (Tour H3) while retailed through Maruti Suzuki’s Arena and commercial dealerships.

The new Dzire Tour S is aimed at enabling the company to achieve greater economies of scale, compared to the past, when two generations of the cars were offered simultaneously. Maruti Suzuki Dzire Tour S is available in two variants: petrol and bi-fuel CNG. The petrol manual version would cost Rs 6.51 lakh while the bi-fuel CNG variant will cost Rs 7.36 lakh.
In the petrol version, the new Dzire Tour S is powered by a 1.2-litre K Series engine that produces 89 bhp and 113 Nm. In CNG mode, these figures come down to 76 bhp and 98.5 Nm. The automaker claims that the upcoming Dzire Tour S CNG is 21 percent more efficient than the previous model. For the petrol model, Maruti Suzuki estimates a fuel-efficiency rating of 23.15 kmpl. A 32.12 km/kg efficiency is achieved with the CNG version.
With a few small changes in the design such as the steel wheels, black door handles and mirror caps, the new Dzire Tour S retains multiple design features of the outgoing model. The tailgate has ‘Tour S’ badging affixed to it. The new Dzire Tour S comes in three colours: Arctic White, Midnight Black, and Silky Silver.
The 2023 Maruti Suzuki Dzire Tour S is equipped with speed-sensitive door locks, manual air conditioning, and LED taillights. It has twin front airbags, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, reverse parking sensors, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), and other safety features such as ISOFIX seat anchorages.
The standard Dzire for common buyers is available in four trim options: LXI, VXI, ZXI, and ZXi+, with prices ranging from Rs 6.44 lakh to Rs 9.31 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). In the market, the Dzire competes with other compact sedans like Hyundai Aura, Honda Amaze, and Tata Tigor.

- New Maruti Suzuki Dzire gets touchscreen infotainment system
- Beige and black interior theme with wood inserts
- Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Mirror Link support in infotainment
Maruti Suzuki India has finally pulled the wraps off the 2017 Maruti Suzuki Dzire and the car has truly gone through a major makeover. Apart from the updated exterior design and styling , which have made the car a lot prettier, the company has also extensively worked upon the interior of the third-generation Dzire. For starters is a lot more luxurious and upmarket as compared to the earlier models and also gets a lot more tech thrown in as standard equipment on the higher spec versions. The new Dzire now also gets a touch screen infotainment system, which makes it a lot more current as compared to its rivals, but, more on that later. The 2017 Maruti Dzire will be launched on 16th May, 2017 and the bookings will begin in the first week of May itself.
Let's start with the actual design of dashboard first. The dashboard on the new Dzire is completely different in terms of design as compared to what the new Swift hatchback gets internationally. Maruti has played it safe with the overall design by opting for a set of almost conventional looking rectangular AC vents up top and a layered dashboard design approach. The lower half of the dash is a light shade of beige, whereas the top half is finished in a shade of dark grey so as to keep the reflections in the windscreen to a minimum. The new 2017 Maruti Suzuki Dzire also gets several faux wood inserts. On the dashboard, the wood trim differentiates between the top and bottom half and is a good differentiator in this segment. The door panels and steering wheel too have the same matte finished wood inserts and the steering wheel itself is flat bottomed and quite sporty. Here is everything that you need to know about the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire.
The top of the line ZDI+ spec showcased here gets the large touchscreen in the central console like the one you get on the Ciaz, Ignis, Baleno and Vitara Brezza . The screen itself offers Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Mirrorlink and comes inbuilt with navigation and Bluetooth. The touchscreen bezel is finished in gloss black and the climate control panel is complimented with a brushed aluminum accent piece. There are two cupholders in the central console and a cubbyhole that also has the 12 volt socket and the USB/AUX ports. The central tunnel’s lower half is finished in the same beige shade as the rest of the dashboard but the centre console itself is finished in a shade of matte grey – similar to the likes of the older Dzire. Here are some important milestones in Maruti Suzuki Dzire's journey in India.
The new Dzire is not only a complete redesign on a new platform, but also much roomier on the inside. The 2017 Maruti Dzire has a longer wheelbase (by 20 mm) and is wider too. The distances between the front and rear wheels too have increased and so has the shoulder room. The front seats are now 20mm further apart and the shoulder room in the rear has been increased by 30mm. The seats are fabric and get two upholstery options (one for L and V trims and the other for the Z level trims).
The rear also now gets a set of mid mounted AC vents which is a huge help in a hot country like ours and the other convenient features like a flip down hand rest continue to be offered. The rear seats also have ISOFIX child seat mounting points as standard. While the Maruti Suzuki Dzire is not a revolutionary step up in terms of interior design, the car does offer everything the Indian customer currently wants both in terms of comfort and convenience.

New Dzire (YED) will launch after the next-gen Swift goes on sale in India.

The all-new Dzire seems to be getting ready for a market launch in the coming months. The fourth-gen Dzire (internal codename: YED) will follow the new Swift, which will go on sale in the coming weeks, to the market. Fresh spy shots suggest Maruti will stick to the tried-and-tested formula of a Swift-based compact sedan for the Indian market.
- New Dzire likely to have identical dimensions as outgoing car
- Will get more features, new Z series engine
- Will launch in the coming months
New Maruti Dzire: what do the spy shots show
The new Dzire has been caught on test for the first time and these set of spy shots reveal quite a bit about the upcoming Maruti sedan. Just like its predecessors, the new Dzire seems to share quite a bit with the hatchback it's based on, but there will also be some major differences, thanks to its three-box compact sedan body style.
The platform and quite a few body panels, including the front fenders, the bonnet, and even the rear doors, seem to have been borrowed from the new Swift. The outgoing Dzire had a different set of doors from the Swift as the hatch had C-pillar mounted door handles. As that is not the case with the fourth-gen Swift – it gets a standard position for the door handles – the Dzire will use the same doors as the hatchback.
The new Dzire, however, does get a slightly different and straighter roofline, and a new rear glass; the area behind the rear door also is completely different thanks to the added rear boot. The rear boot design seems to be flattish, like the outgoing model, in order to facilitate maximum boot space and also aid in the positioning of the CNG tank, for the variant that'll have the factory-fit CNG kit. The rear styling is all-new with a fresh look for the tail-lamps, which now extend upwards. The license plate continues to be positioned at the centre, just like the outgoing model.
The front styling is not visible in these spy shots, but going by what Maruti has done for the current-gen Swift and Dzire twins, we expect some styling differences with the sedan getting a different-looking nose with more chrome inserts, which are meant to give a more upmarket look.
While the interior will have a lot in common with the Swift, the Dzire will have lighter colour materials with an additional dose of brushed aluminum and faux wood inserts. We don’t expect many feature differences with the new Swift though. Maruti could equip it with the new 9-inch infotainment screen, among the other new kit seen on latest-gen Maruti models. The Dzire could even get a 360-degree camera setup that is available on the Fronx , but not on the Baleno .
Under the hood, the new Dzire will get the new 1.2-litre Z series petrol engine that will debut on the new Swift. Expect this engine to come with manual and AMT automatic gearbox options.
New Dzire India launch timeline
While the new Swift will go on sale in the coming weeks, the new Dzire's launch, however, is still some time away and we expect a gap of at least three months between both models.

2024 Maruti Suzuki DZire: What You Need to Know About the New Model
M aruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch the latest versions of the popular Swift and DZire compact sedan in the Indian market. While the new Maruti Suzuki Swift has already been introduced in Japan, the 2024 Maruti DZire compact sedan has been undergoing testing multiple times on Indian roads. Recent spy images have provided insight into some crucial aspects, including design changes an interior modification. Let’s talk about the major changes we have learned about upcoming new-generation DZire compact sedan.
The new Maruti Suzuki DZire is not drastically different from the current model in term of design; instead, it represents more of an evolution. Nevertheless, it has undergone some styling updates to maintain its appeal in the market. It will utilize a heavily modified version of Suzuki’s HEARTECT platform, which also serves as the foundation for the Baleno hatchback.
From the spy images, it is evident that the 2024 Maruti Suzuki DZire sport a distinct larger grille, a clamshell bonnet, a fresh bumper with noticeable cuts and creases, and newly designed 5-spoke alloy wheels. The vehicle will feature updated pillars and doors, along with a slightly altered ear profile showcasing a new bumper and slightly adjusted tail-lights.
Just like the latest Maruti Suzuki Swift, the upcoming Maruti DZire sedan will share its interior design with the new Fronx and the Baleno hatchback. Inside, the hatchback will boast a dual-tome interior scheme in a lighter shade. Expect the dashboard to feature a prominent freestanding touchscreen infotainment unit, alongside a fresh instrument console housing a digital MID. Additionally, anticipate a new steering wheel and automatic AC equipped with a toggle-style controls, as well as rear-con vents for added comfort.
The upcoming Maruti DZire will be equipped with Suzuki’s latest 1.2-litre Z-Series petrol engine, which first debuted in the new Swift. This 1.2-litre, 30cylinder Naturally Aspirated engine can deliver 82bhp and a maximum torque of 108Nm. For the mild hybrid version, there is a DC synchronous motor providing an additional power output of 3.1hp and torque boost of 60Nm. Expect transmission options to include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. Similar to the Japanese-spec Swift, there might also be a new CVT automatic gearbox offered. Maruti Suzuki could potentially introduce the CVT in select top-spec variants of the new DZire.
Based on the recent spy images, it is confirmed that new DZire will be the pioneer in its segment to offer a factory-fitted electric sunroof. This feature will give it a competitive edge, especially with the anticipated launch of the new-generation Honda Amaze this year. In terms of technology, the new DZire will be equipped with a spacious 9-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment systems, identical to those found in the Fronx and Baleno models.

New Maruti Suzuki Dzire launch timeline revealed, here are details
While the sedan segment has seen a decline in market share over the past few years, the maruti suzuki dzire has been an exception. it has always been among the top-selling cars in india..
Listen to Story
The Maruti Suzuki Dzire is the largest-selling sedan in India, way ahead of its rivals like the Honda Amaze, Hyundai Aura and Tata Tigor in terms of volume. While the new avatar of the sub-4 metre compact sedan is already being tested, we have some very interesting news about the launch timeline of the car.
Maruti is expected to bring in the new Dzire with significant exterior and interior updates . On the outside, you will see a new grille with updated LED headlights and taillights. The bumpers will get a makeover. Also, the alloys will be new. We are expecting the car to get an electric sunroof as well.
Of late, Maruti has been offering some class-leading features in its cars. Talk about the Fronx and the Grand Vitara, both vehicles are feature-loaded. Similar treatment is expected for the new Dzire. It will get features like a new touch infotainment system, automatic climate control, digital instrument panel and a 360-degree camera.
At present, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire employs a 1.2-litre K-Series Dual-Jet Dual-VVT petrol engine, which generates 88bhp and 113Nm. There is also a CNG option (76bhp and 98Nm). While the petrol model has 5-speed MT and 5-speed AMT options, the CNG model only gets a 5-speed MT. Don't be surprised to see these powertrains being carried over to the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire.
The Dzire is a highly fuel-efficient car. It has a claimed mileage of 22.41kmpl for the petrol MT, 22.61kmpl for the petrol AMT and 31.12kmpkg for the CNG MT. We expect the new Dzire to be as fuel-efficient as the current one, if not more.
While the current Maruti Suzuki Dzire is priced between Rs 6.56 lakh and Rs 9.39 lakh (ex-showroom), we expect the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire price in India to be between Rs 7 lakh and Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Maruti Suzuki Dzire launch is India is expected to take place in the second quarter (July-September) of FY25, according to our sources.

Join us in Atlanta on April 10th and explore the landscape of security workforce. We will explore the vision, benefits, and use cases of AI for security teams. Request an invite here.
ValidMind , a startup focused on AI and model risk management for financial institutions, announced today that it has raised $8.1 million in seed funding. The round was led by Point72 Ventures , with participation from several other venture capital firms.
The new capital comes as banks face growing pressure to expand their use of AI, while ensuring these technologies comply with regulations. According to a report from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau , banks that use chatbots risk providing inaccurate information to customers, diminishing consumer trust. In addition, new regulations like the EU’s AI Act and the proposed U.S. AI Bill of Rights are pushing the limits of current model risk management (MRM) processes and legacy MRM systems at banks.
As ValidMind CEO and Co-founder Jonas Jacobi recently explained in an interview with VentureBeat, “The MRM teams at financial institutions are struggling to keep up amid increased pressure from the business to deploy more AI solutions faster and from regulators to ensure compliance.”

Jacobi explained that current regulations like SR 11-7 in the U.S. already cover AI models, even if they don’t explicitly mention AI. “The banks out of the U.S. will have a head start on all the other banks, because they’ve already been regulated,” he said.

However, the model risk management process at most banks involves extensive manual work. “We know, talking to our clients that that represents about 30% of the model risk management teams effort to keep those records updated manually,” Jacobi stated.
This is where ValidMind comes in. The startup’s platform automates parts of the model documentation, testing and validation process required for regulatory compliance.
According to Jacobi, “If you have a data scientist that is $400,000 a year fully loaded, and they’re spending 50% writing documentation, if we can automate 80% of that, that’s 16 hours saved per week.”
He believes this will allow financial institutions to accelerate AI adoption without hampering innovation. “I don’t think regulation will hamper innovation. It will if you’re not applying proper tooling to it,” Jacobi commented.
Investor interest in AI governance solutions
The new funding will support ValidMind’s goal of establishing itself as a long-term partner for banks as they expand their use of AI. The company also plans to grow its sales, marketing and customer success teams.
Jacobi said the successful funding round shows investor interest in AI governance solutions. “The fact that we managed to get a very highly oversubscribed round of financing was very exciting for us as a company and team,” he remarked.
The startup’s total funding now stands at $11.1 million after the new seed round. While AI model risk management is still a nascent field, ValidMind’s solution appears tailored to the growing intersection of AI innovation and regulation in financial services.
Becoming a ‘certifying authority’ for AI
Jacobi envisions ValidMind eventually evolving into a “certifying authority” that provides validation-on-demand services to offload bank’s model risk management staff.
He explained ValidMind’s long-term vision: “How do we help companies add more trust into their deployment of AI, meaning that that includes obviously what we’re doing today, which is sort of a small risk AI risk, compliance side with regulatory requirements?”
As AI becomes more critical in financial services, ValidMind aims to ensure integrity across the entire AI model lifecycle.
