The Weeknd Adds 2023 Tour Dates

By Rob Arcand

The Weeknd wearing sunglasses

Just one day after bringing the first leg of his After Hours Til Dawn Tour to a close, the Weeknd has announced even more tour dates to come in the new year. The second leg begins in June 2023, and the trek runs through Europe and Latin America. Check out the Weeknd’s schedule below.

The Weeknd released his fifth studio album, Dawn FM , in January. The album was withheld from consideration for the 2023 Grammy Awards , continuing a boycott that started in 2021 after the Weeknd’s previous album, After Hours , failed to receive any Grammy nominations. Despite the boycott, the Weeknd won the 2022 Grammy Award for Best Melodic Rap Performance for his contributions to the Kanye West song “Hurricane.”

-great light display/props/theatrics

-he sang music from all his albums which was well appreciated!

-he interacted with the crowd

-he sings AMAZING live

-chill atmosphere

-performers/musicians were smoking weed on stage

-Abel took a longgg time to get on stage, we were there for almost two hours before he did

-crowd was very drunk & rude (not his fault)

-merchandise was very expensive (I payed $40 for a t-shirt)

This review might not be completely objective as Abel has been my favourite singer for a few years now. However, I can definitely admit the Starboy tour date in Paris was the best pop concert I've been to this year. Even though some songs could have been put out of the tracklist, he mostly sang his catchiest songs of his career, no matter the era. He has great, or should I say, tremendous energy as he continuously sang twenty-something songs with no pause in between. He has no trouble reaching high notes live, his voice sounding even more heavenly in real life. That night, he invited Travis Scott on stage who pumped up the crowd more than him, which is a shame and showcases very well his lack of success and recognition in France, yet, in a sold out stadium. Most people actually didn't even know his real name or the lyrics of his songs ! I would recommend any "real fan" who has known him for a while or who likes his last album a lot to go to a Starboy tour date. I promise you, you won't regret it.

The concert was absolutely stunning. A starship was used and the lights were coordinated very well. Abel sang amazingly in person and I loved jumping up and down screaming with other members of the audience while he sang. The concert was truly magical and I enjoyed every second Abel stood on stage.

As for the other singers who appeared on stage, I was very satisfied with their singing as well. They did an amazing job and captured the entire audience. In between Abel's music, the other singers such as Lil Uzi and 6lack played their hits on stage and the whole crowd became even more alive. If I the concert played out any other way, I'm sure I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much as this concert.

Elsewhere in The Weeknd news, Abel Tesfaye’s “Can’t Feel My Face” was officially certified Diamond last week . This is the artist’s fourth Diamond single (following “The Hills,” “Starboy,” and “Blinding Lights”), making him the third solo artist and fourth artist overall to reach the achievement. The single is from The Weeknd’s second studio album Beauty Behind the Madness and was his first single to reach No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Leaders in the mix: pioneering female music producers to know.

As Bianca Gracie explains in her feature on the track , “‘Can’t Feel My Face’ may have been the third single picked from Beauty Behind the Madness , but it remains the biggest. Gone was the murky, chilling production from The Weeknd’s mixtape days. For “Can’t Feel My Face,” The Weeknd called upon pop music’s legendary hitmaker Max Martin and Ali Payami (best known for his Grammy-winning work on Taylor Swift’s 1989). The two producers created a bouncy, vibrant melody that drew inspiration from one of The Weeknd’s biggest heroes, Michael Jackson .”

“‘He’s everything to me, so you’re going to hear it in my music,’ The Weeknd told the LA Times in 2016. “ Off The Wall was the album that inspired me to sing. It helped me find my [voice] … “Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough,” I kept singing that, and I found my falsetto.”

The Weeknd Announces 2023 European and Latin American Tour Dates

by Jacob Uitti November 30, 2022, 12:22 pm

The Weeknd has announced a string of 2023 European and Latin American tour dates for his upcoming 2023 After Hours Til Dawn stadium tour.

Videos by American Songwriter

The Diamond-certified artist’s announcement comes as an expansion of his recently-concluded North American tour. The European leg of the shows will kick off on June 10 in Manchester, UK at Etihad Stadium. Other stops include shows in Stockholm, Amsterdam, Mexico City, Rio de Janeiro, and more. The tour ends on October 15 in Estadio Bicentenario de La Florida.

Kaytranada and Mike Dean will join The Weeknd on all European dates.  More dates for 2023 will be announced soon, according to a press statement.

The Weeknd’s North American tour generated $130 million, including a $5 million check the artist donated to charity.

According to the press statement, “United Nations World Food Programme Goodwill Ambassador Abel ‘The Weeknd’ Tesfaye will again partner with the U.N. World Food Programme to contribute funds from the second leg of the tour to the XO Humanitarian Fund, which supports the organization’s response to the unprecedented global hunger crisis. €1 from each ticket sold across Europe, £1 in the UK and the $1 equivalent in countries across Latin America will go to this important cause.

“The fund raised money during the North American leg of the tour through ticket sales, proceeds from an exclusive tour t-shirt, and a $500,000 donation directly from The Weeknd. The Weeknd’s corporate partners, tour venues, World Food Program USA board of directors and supporters also stepped up to contribute, as well as tour sponsor Binance, who contributed US$2 million to the fund.

“We are deeply appreciative and humbled by The Weeknd’s steadfast support, as well as that of his loyal fans and partners,” said Barron Segar, World Food Program USA president and CEO. “Abel is an inspiration to us all, and through his efforts, thousands of families will have food security and hope for a better future.”

“On stage and off stage, The Weeknd is bringing hope and happiness to millions of people across the globe,” said David Beasley, WFP executive director. “His inspirational XO Humanitarian Fund is a new dawn in the struggle to end global hunger at a time when we are seeing funding shrink and the threat of famine grow. As WFP’s Global Goodwill Ambassador, he is opening hearts and minds to our life-saving cause and offering millions the chance of a brighter tomorrow.”

The upcoming tour celebrates The Weeknd’s 2020 album, After Hours ( hit single “Blinding Lights” was named the new No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 song of all time, surpassing Chubby Checker’s 1960 hit “The Twist”), as well as his critically-acclaimed album Dawn FM , which was released January 2022.

GloRilla Acknowledges "Cha Cha Cha" Criticism: 'Y'all Made Me Feel Crazy'

The song, which features Fivio Foreign, appeared on 2023 CMG The Label compilation 'Gangsta Art 2.'

GloRilla consistently drops hits. The Memphis rapper made her breakout with 2022 single "F.N.F. (Let's Go)," got Cardi B to hop on "Tomorrow 2" and got the LeBron James co-sign with latest single "Yeah Glo!"

But in a recent Instagram Live stream, Big Glo admitted that her confidence was nearly shaken after the Fivio Foreign -assisted single "Cha Cha Cha" didn't receive much buzz.

"Y'all made me feel crazy when I dropped 'Cha Cha,'" she began. "Like y'all made me feel real crazy about that, and I want y'all to know that. So, I came back with a vengeance, you feel me? But you know, I love criticism... I love it until I feel like motherfuckers be dick riding."

She continued, "You learn from your mistakes and do better. And I'm just really here to tell you I'm on it, I'm back on it, I'm never getting off it. At the end of the day, the day gon' motherfucking end and everything always gon' be everything...Only thing you gotta keep is your confidence."

GloRilla admitted she lost some of her confidence after fans made her feel crazy for dropping her song “Cha Cha Cha.” pic.twitter.com/roRIjC5JKv — The Culture Vault (@DaCultureVault) March 23, 2024

"Cha Cha Cha" appeared on 2023 CMG The Label compilation  Gangsta Art 2 and GloRilla and Fivio performed it at the 2023 BET Hip-Hop Awards, although it didn't pick up much steam. However, GloRilla bounced back with "Yeah Glo!," announced an upcoming mixtape, EhhThang EhhThang , and will be a supporting act on Megan Thee Stallion 's Hot Girl Summer Tour .

How to buy Taylor Swift tickets: Eras Tour dates and prices compared

When you buy through our links, Business Insider may earn an affiliate commission. Learn more

Taylor Swift's reign continues as she ramps up for the next leg of The Eras Tour. The singer-songwriter will kick off the European portion of her world tour in Paris in May, which will continue throughout the summer. From there, she'll return to North America to tour Canada and a few remaining US cities in the fall. If you're hoping to attend, we've compiled all of the details of The Eras Tour, including how to get Taylor Swift tour tickets.

Swift's Eras Tour has taken the world by storm since March 2023. The three-plus-hour tour features hits from each of Swift's album eras, from "Lover" to her recent Grammy Award-winning "Midnights." Each show also features surprise songs and occasional guests, so fans never quite know what they're in for. Swift will release her latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department," in April, but it's unknown if any of those songs will make their way to the tour setlist.

  • See also: Adele tickets | Olivia Rodrigo tickets | Bad Bunny tickets | Bruce Springsteen tickets  | Drake tickets | Stevie Nicks tickets

Getting tickets has become its own battle and many fans have waited hours in the Ticketmaster queue to hopefully snag some seats, if they could get a presale ticket code in the first place. While Swift continues to extend the tour, including new US dates, tickets remain hard to come by.

Below, we've put together a guide on everything to know about The Eras Tour, including the tour schedule, ticket purchasing details, resale ticket prices, and the concert film streaming options . You can also peruse resale vendors like StubHub and Vivid Seats at your leisure.

Taylor Swift international tour dates

The Eras Tour international dates resume on May 9 in Paris. The European tour will run until August 20 in London. UK prices are listed in pounds, and start times vary from city to city. US dates start in October and can be found under the following table.

Taylor Swift North American tour dates

The Eras tour will return to the US on October 18 in Miami. In addition to the Miami shows, Swift will perform multiple dates in New Orleans and Indianapolis. On November 14, Swift will head to Canada for several shows in Toronto and Vancouver. All North American shows start at 7 p.m. local time.

How to buy tickets for Taylor Swift's 2024 tour

Original standard tickets for Taylor Swift's 2024 sold out long ago for both international and domestic dates. All US tickets and many international tickets were sold through Ticketmaster , although select international locations used different services.

Tickets for most dates are available on resale websites like StubHub and Vivid Seats . These are generally higher-priced than the originals, which are no longer available. Keep in mind that some countries have rules regarding reselling tickets.

How much are Taylor Swift tickets?

Ticket prices vary by date and location. International resale tickets tend to be a bit cheaper than US resale tickets. It's worth noting that some of the cheapest tickets have restricted views.

StubHub's cheapest European tickets range from $392 (Madrid, Spain, on May 29) to £978 (London, United Kingdom, on June 22). The latter is around $1,248 in USD. The lowest prices for most shows are around $450 to $1,000. On Vivid Seats , the cheapest tickets for these dates go for $549 and $683, respectively.

When it comes to North American shows, the cheapest StubHub tickets range from $1,045 (Vancouver, Canada, on December 8) to $2,081 (Miami, Florida, on October 19). Most of the cheapest tickets are priced between $1,200 and $1,800. On Vivid Seats, the cheapest Taylor Swift tickets on these dates start at $1,133 and $2,212, respectively. The two resale vendors generally have similarly priced offerings, but this varies from show to show.

Who is opening for Taylor Swift's tour?

Taylor Swift has a variety of opening acts, from up-and-coming singers to established groups. Opening acts vary by date. For the European leg of the tour, Paramore will open for Swift. In the US and Canada, Gracie Abrams will be the opening act.

Will Taylor Swift add more dates to the Eras Tour?

Taylor Swift already added additional stops to her tour due to popular demand, including her US tour dates this fall. She also added additional dates to some of her European city stops, including bonus performances in France and the United Kingdom, among other locations. It's unknown whether Swift will end up adding even more tour dates, but by the end of the upcoming US leg she will have been touring for almost two years, so fans shouldn't be surprised if she takes a break.

Charlotte Cardin, Karan Aujla Win Big at the 2024 Juno Awards: Full Winners List

The canadian music awards ceremony had a special focus on musicians who've had a breakthrough year, including talk and the beaches..

The 2024 Juno Awards looked to the future of Canadian music, while also honouring its history.

A quartet of acts who've had major breakthroughs this year won the major awards given out on the CBC-televised broadcast on Sunday night (March 24) live from Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Punjabi-Canadian global star Karan Aujla won the TikTok Fan Choice award, the only fan-chosen award of the ceremony. "Sometimes I can't believe I'm that same kid who lost my parents when I was in India, made my way to Canada, and now I'm here!" said the B.C.-based artist, one of Billboard Canada's inaugural cover stars . "If you are dreaming, make sure you dream big."

Charlotte Cardin won album of the year for her album 99 Nights . The 2023 album has propelled the Montreal-based artist to new crossover heights, hitting No. 3 on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart, while its popular single "Confetti" reached the top 10 of the Canadian Hot 100 and spent 35 weeks on the chart. It also earned her first American chart hit, and it is currently on the Adult Pop Airplay chart . Cardin later performed the infectious earworm while actual confetti rained from the ceiling.

The Beaches, meanwhile, won group of the year. Accepting the award from Nova Scotia's own Anne Murray, who holds the record for most Junos ever with 25, the Toronto band dedicated their speech to the next generation of rockers. "To all the young girls watching, go start bands with your best friends!" They later closed the festivities with a rendition of their major breakthrough single "Blame Brett."

Both Cardin and The Beaches won awards at the 2024 Juno Opening Night Awards the night before (March 23) for pop album of the year and rock album of the year, respectively.

In a white fur cape, TALK had a rock star moment performing his epic single "Run Away to Mars," which went to No. 1 on the Adult Alternative Airplay chart last year. The Ottawa-born artist, who's had over 400 million global streams, later took home the award for breakthrough artist of the year. In his speech, he talked about the importance of arts funding, just after Canadian Heritage Minister Pascale St.-Onge announced the government would increase the Canadian Music Fund.

A number of the night's performances motioned toward the increasingly diverse and global future of Canadian music. Dressed in a spiffy white outfit with a four backup dancers in red, Aujla performed early on, playing pop hits "Admirin' You" and "Softly." Both came from his album Making Memories , which made history as the highest-charting Punjabi debut ever on the Canadian Albums chart . Ikky, who made the album with Aujla, acted as hype man on an elevated platform.

In the Billboard Punjabi Wave cover story , AP Dhillon talked about his performance at the 2023 Junos ceremony and how he lobbied to ensure majorly popular Punjabi music would have a prolonged platform at the awards. Evidently, they've kept their word.

This year's Junos also had the most Indigenous nominees in award history. Anita Landback, Tanas Sylliboy and Sarah Prosper set the stage with a land acknowledgment that intersected with a performance by Juno winner Jeremy Dutcher in Wolastoqey, who then joined in a duet with Elisapie on an Inuktitut version of Blondie's "Heart of Glass." Along with Aujla and others, it meant performances featured at least six different languages, including English and French.

The Junos have struggled with star power in recent years — Drake has boycotted the last half decade, while chart-topper Tate McRae was not in attendance to accept her two awards this year — but they have made up for it with improved representation of what makes Canadian music unique.

This year, they also paid tribute to the country's music history.

The ceremony was hosted by pop star Nelly Furtado, who opened the ceremony with a rapid-fire medley of her multiple decades of hits: "Say It Right," "Maneater," "Promiscuous," "Give It To Me," "I'm Like A Bird" — all from the 2000s and her new one with Dom Dolla, "Eat Your Man."

Kardinal Offishall inducted "our rap Prime Minister" Maestro Fresh Wes into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. The hip-hop hero had the first Canadian rap record to ever chart on the Billboard Hot 100 with "Let Your Backbone Slide," was the first winner of the rap album of the year at the 1991 Junos for Symphony in Effect , and is currently amidst a wave of recognition for his place in the country's music history. A pre-taped video featured contributions from this year's winner, TOBi, legacy Canadian artists like Snow and American legends like Chuck D of Public Enemy. "Now, this music we love won't ever be underestimated," he said. He later performed a medley of his hits, including "Backbone."

A special performance honoured a handful of Canadian legends who died this year. Neo-classical Quebecois artist Alexandra Streliski paid tribute to Karl Tremblay of Les Cowboys Fringants with an instrumental piano performance. Then Allison Russell, Aysanabee, William Prince, Shawnee Kish, Logan Staats and Julian Taylor all joined together for beautiful renditions of Gordon Lightfoot's "If You Could Read My Mind" and The Band's "The Weight" for the late Robbie Robertson.

And actor Elliot Page presented the humanitarian award to Tegan and Sara, stressing the importance of the Canadian Quin sisters' Tegan and Sara Foundation's important work for young queer people at a time when the rights of 2SLGBTQ+ people are under threat, including from the Alberta government . "If the world were not so hostile to 2SLGBTQ+ we would see ourselves purely as musicians," they said, adding "we love being gay. So gay."

Here’s our report on all the winners from Saturday’s Opening Night Juno Awards.

Here are the nominees in the categories that were presented on the live telecast, with winners checked.

Minister of Canadian Heritage, Pascale St-Onge, with The Beaches at the Juno Awards Opening Night Awards, March 23, 2024 in Halifax.

Minister of Canadian Heritage, Pascale St-Onge, announced the increase at the Junos. It falls short of the $50 million the Liberal government had previously promised, but is encouraging for industry associations, who have been campaigning for the increase.

New funding is coming to the Canadian music industry.

Pascale St-Onge, the Minister of Canadian Heritage, announced at the Juno Awards on Mar. 24 that the government will increase the Canada Music Fund by $32 million over the next two fiscal years.

She also made the announcement on Instagram, joined on both sides by president and CEO of FACTOR, Meg Symsyk, and general manager of Musicaction, Louise Chenail. The boosted funds will support over 5,000 projects across the country, St-Onge says.

The Canada Music Fund supports both FACTOR and Musicaction. Those granting bodies provide artists, labels and other organizations with funding for a wide range of activities, including recording, touring, marketing and music video production.

See on Instagram

The announcement — though welcomed by Canadian music associations like the Canadian Independent Music Association (CIMA) and the Canadian Live Music Association (CLMA) — falls short of the $50 million that the Liberal government committed to in 2021, and the $60 million increase called for by the industry groups .

FACTOR has historically received significant funds from Canada's private radio broadcasters, but as those contributions decline, CIMA and CLMA have been sounding the alarm about the organization's ability to meet the needs of Canadian artists. FACTOR's funding challenges come at a time when many artists and organizations are struggling to stay afloat amidst a cost of living crisis.

"CIMA applauds the government's increased investment in the Canada Music Fund," said CIMA President Andrew Cash. "This is a recognition of music's significant contribution to our cultural fabric and national economy."

According to CIMA, 6,500 musicians have benefitted from FACTOR support in the last five years, including acts like Juno Award winners The Beaches, popular singer-songwriter Andy Shauf, and recent Sony Music-signees Snotty Nose Rez Kids. FACTOR reportedly invested $21 million into the Canadian music industry in 2022.

L'ADISQ, Quebec's Association of the Record, Show and Video Industry, highlights that Musicaction — which primarily supports French-speaking projects — has already made cuts in recent months, and this increase will prevent a further reduction in capacity. The association calls the announcement a step in the right direction, thanking Minister St-Onge, and emphasizing the difficult economic context facing music organizations with fewer resources.

The Canadian Live Music Association echoes l'ADISQ's sentiment, calling the increase "a good start," and reiterating the tough circumstances industry members are facing. The Canada Music Fund increase was one of three recommendations CLMA put forward for the upcoming federal budget, which the organization hoped would take "urgent action" to protect the live music sector.

In response to St-Onge's announcement, CLMA is now calling for specific measures to address live music and further action in the upcoming federal budget.

"With live music venues and festivals on life support, the federal budget needs to deliver dedicated funding before we lose these institutions forever," CLMA says.

Independent broadcasters are also making their own appeal to the government for support from the federal budget for radio.

With the full budget still to come, more support measures could be in store for Canada's music sector.

"It will be an amazing night celebrating fan-favorite artists with special performances that fans won’t want to miss," Ludacris said of his upcoming hosting gig

Ludacris is headed for the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards !

The 46-year-old rapper has been tapped to host and perform at the upcoming April 1 awards show.

“I’m looking forward to hosting the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards and sharing the stage with some of the best in music,” said Ludacris. “It will be an amazing night celebrating fan-favorite artists with special performances that fans won’t want to miss.”

Meanwhile, Beyoncé is set to receive the Innovator Award at this year’s show to celebrate her influence on pop culture, her various creative risks throughout her career, and her ability to “successfully transform [her] music,” per the press release.

The 32-time Grammy winner's honor will arrive two days after her upcoming ninth studio album, Act II: Cowboy Carter . The 42-year-old singer first announced she was releasing a new album during a Super Bowl commercial in February. (Additionally, during the Super Bowl, Ludacris made a surprise appearance alongside Usher for the latter’s halftime show .)

In the “Crazy in Love” singer’s announcement, the clip teased that the second act of Renaissance was set for release on March 29. Then, promptly after the commercial aired, she shared two singles from the album: " Texas Hold 'Em " and " 16 Carriages ."

Since then, "Texas Hold 'Em" hit No. 1 on the Hot Country Songs chart , making Beyoncé the first Black female artist to ever reach the top spot on the chart.

Along with the “Cuff It” singer who will receive the Innovator Award, Cher is set to receive this year’s Icon Award with a special musical tribute.

The show also announced the " Believe " artist, 77, will be honored for “her unparalleled contributions to music and pop culture for over seven decades," per a press release.
