On Friday (Dec. 9),  SZA ‘s hotly anticipated 23-track sophomore album  SOS  finally arrived after a five-and-a-half year wait. Preceded by lead single “Shirt” and a tease of “Nobody Gets Me,” the studio set follows the recent  Billboard   cover star ‘s smash 2017 debut album  Ctrl , which spawned hits like “Drew Barrymore,” “Love Galore” and “The Weekend.”

Off the heels of her long-awaited new sophomore album ‘SOS’, music trendsetter and icon SZA will embark on a highly anticipated arena tour this spring with support from Grammy-nominated best new artist Omar Apollo . Produced by Live Nation, the exclusive 17-city tour kicks off on February 21 at Schottenstein Center in Columbus, OH making stops across North America in Chicago, Toronto, New York, Atlanta at the award-winning State Farm Arena on March 7, 2023 , Seattle, Vancouver, and more before wrapping up in Los Angeles, CA, at the Kia Forum on March 22. This tour marks the first time the Grammy-award-winning artist is playing venues of this size and debuting her latest album live to fans.

Born in St. Louis and raised in Maplewood, NJ, genre-defying, and GRAMMY Award winning recording artist SZA released her major label debut album Ctrl (TDE/RCA) in 2017. Revered for its raw and honest lyrics, it landed at No. 1 on Billboard ’s R&B Albums chart, No. 2 on the R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart and No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart, according to Nielsen Music. The now RIAA-certified 3xPlatinum album received five Grammy nominations in 2018 and more than half the songs on Ctrl are currently certified multi-Platinum and Gold. Ctrl remains on the Billboard 200 chart since its release in 2017 and holds the record for the longest run for any Black female artist’s debut album. In 2022 alone it sold over 600,000 units and is the 10th best-selling female album this year in the country and 50th best-selling album in 2022 overall.

SZA has won various awards since the release of Ctrl including a 2022 GRAMMY Award for Best Pop Dou/Group Performance for “Kiss Me More” with Doja Cat, Billboard Music Awards’ Top R&B Female Artist, BET Awards’ Best New Artist, BET Soul Train Awards’ Best R&B/Soul Female Artist and Best New Artist, MTV Video Music Awards’ Best Visual Effects for the “All The Stars” with Kendrick Lamar, and NAACP Image Awards’ Outstanding New Artist. In 2019, she won NAACP Image Awards’ Outstanding Duo or Group for “All The Stars” with Kendrick Lamar and Outstanding Soundtrack/Compilation for the Black Panther Soundtrack . SZA also received Billboard’s 2019 Women in Music Rule Breaker award.

To this day, SZA continues to set the standard on creativity and songwriting, while shattering records with over 7.2 billion streams worldwide across all platforms. To close out the trying year of 2020, SZA gifted fans on Christmas Day with the hopeful track “Good Days.” Grammy-nominated for Best R&B Song, the single quickly became SZA’s greatest gainer solo single release, peaking at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and marking her first time in the chart’s top ten as the main artist. Fresh off the release of her second studio album “SOS,” SZA has announced her first-ever arena tour.

With support from Omar Apollo, the tour will open on Feb. 21 in Columbus, Ohio, and wrap up on March 22 in Los Angeles. SZA will also hit arenas including Chicago’s United Center and New York City’s Madison Square Garden.

Tickets will go on sale starting Dec. 16 at 12 p.m. local time at szasos.com. Resale tickets are available here .

Omar’s stage presence was great. Oscar, Manny, and Joey are incredibly talented. By far one of the best concerts I have ever been to. Overall it was an amazing concert. I have no complaints.

Best vibe to a concert I've ever been to. Got to see both Aeris and Omar but the hype built for both was perfect. Don't think I've ever danced non-stop and known the lyrics to all the songs

SZA announces North American tour dates with Omar Apollo

SZA will be embarking on her first-ever arena tour in 2023.

The F2f singer will be kicking off a 17-date tour in support of her highly popular sophomore album SOS. Apollo is set to support SZA across all dates, including dates in New York, Seattle, and more.

SZA’s first-time arena tour will take place on February 21 in Ohio and wrap up in Los Angeles on March 22.

Taking to Twitter, Apollo shares news that he will be supporting on tour.

Earlier this year, Apollo went viral for defending himself against allegations of queerbaiting .

“Is Omar Apollo another queerbaiting singer? Like those type, ‘I don’t label myself, let me wear crop [tops] and paint my nails and say I find another guy hot.’ Cuz I like his song, but I don’t like supporting straight men doing queerbaiting,” a user posted online.

Queerbating is a media tactic, used across film and TV, where queerness and queer stories are implied without committing to depicting any LGBTQ+ representation.

Omar Apollo Shares New Track “3 Boys” Ahead of Tour With SZA, Drops Merch Collection Including Condom

Later this month, Grammy Best New Artist nominee Omar Apollo is set to return to the road as the special guest on SZA's first-ever arena tour.

Omar Apollo ’s already massive 2023 just got even bigger thanks to the release of the new track “ 3 Boys .”

The song, production for which is credited to Dylan Wiggins , arrives days after the 65th annual Grammy Awards ceremony, where Apollo was nominated for Best New Artist. According to Apollo, the track was penned “on a rainy day in London” and marks his first time writing about non-monogamous relationships.

“I spent most of December there, mostly just because I wanted to get out of America,” he said when rolling out the song on Friday. “I ended up going to the studio more than I thought I would. I wrote the song with a friend of mine, Dylan Wiggins. It seemed like we were both in the same mind state for a song like this. The song wrote itself really quickly. I also had my friend Mustafa help me with a few lines after I played it for him.”

Days after dropping the track, Apollo announced a merch collection that includes hoodies, t-shirts, sweatpants, shorts, accessories, a condom that features lyrics from his Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo-produced track “ Tamagotchi ,” and more.

Omar Apollo is serving as the special guest on SZA’s first-ever arena tour , which opened on Feb. 21 in Columbus, Ohio and wraps up with a show in Los Angeles on March 22. The SZA-supporting arena run follows last year’s wildly successful Prototype Tour, a headlining trek that was recently documented in a 13-minute documentary filmed by Kyle Mickelson.

Omar Apollo ‘s Prototype Tour is one of the most anticipated tours of this fall . The star recently released Ivory (Marfil) , the expanded version of his massive debut. Along with those new songs, he’ll be bringing Chicago’s Ravyn Lenae on the road, who’ll be opening for him.

Off the heels of her long-awaited new sophomore album ‘SOS’, music trendsetter and icon SZA will embark on a highly anticipated arena tour this spring with support from Grammy-nominated best new artist Omar Apollo . Produced by Live Nation, the exclusive 17-city tour kicks off on February 21 at Schottenstein Center in Columbus, OH making stops across North America in Chicago, Toronto, New York, Atlanta, Seattle, Vancouver, and more before wrapping up in Los Angeles, CA, at the Kia Forum on March 22. This tour marks the first time the Grammy-award-winning artist is playing venues of this size and debuting her latest album live to fans.

Born in St. Louis and raised in Maplewood, NJ, genre-defying, and GRAMMY Award winning recording artist SZA released her major label debut album Ctrl (TDE/RCA) in 2017. Revered for its raw and honest lyrics, it landed at No. 1 on Billboard ’s R&B Albums chart, No. 2 on the R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart and No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart, according to Nielsen Music. On Dec. 13, it was announced that Omar Apollo will be the opening act for SZA’s first-ever arena tour – and fans are freaking out.

The tour starts on Feb. 21 at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, OH. Major tour stops include the United Center in Chicago, IL, on Feb. 22; the Madison Square Garden in New York, NY, on Mar. 4; the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, WA, on Mar. 16; and wraps up at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, CA, on Mar. 22.

It’s been quite an impressive year for the Mexican-American artist – his last album Ivory gave him his first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the track “Evergreen.” He’s also one of the few Latine artists nominated for next year’s Grammy awards .
