Laura Jane Grace is absolutely kick ass. Perfect set, perfect sound, and perfect punk rock.

Was one of the best, being a transgender female, getting to see against me was one of my to do list. Laura jane was my insperation for being open.

Against Me! Was Amazing

Against Me! was nothing but amazing. It was a very high energy concert with an amazing set list. There are absolutely no complaints about the show!

Against Me! is a must see. Don't miss your chance to see an awesome band raw and in your face.

Always Awesome

As usual Against Me! killed it. Mostly older songs. Only about 6 from the last 2 albums. They were non-stop amazing!

Just big enough. Every spot was a good spot. Garage doors open and weather was perfect.

Against Me! rocks

Big arena shows are fine but my favorite concerts are in clubs with sweaty people packed in like sardines and singing along loud enough to rival the band coming through a PA. Against Me! kicked total ass with phenomenal songs and impeccable musicianship. I can’t wait to see them again.

Great bands intimate venue

I like coming to see bands here as it’s always up close and personal:)

Definitely go and see Against Me!

They were fantastic. Laura was amazing! Her smile was intoxicating! I couldn't help but smile watching her and the band. They looked like they were having so much fun up there!!!

Incredible energy and sound!

Against Me! put on a fantastic show. Great set, incredible energy, and the sound was fantastic - much better than usual at the Culture Room. Loved it and would definitely recommend you go and see them!

Against Me! is a punk rock band formed in Gainesville, Florida, in 1997 by singer and guitarist Laura Jane Grace, surfacing with their breakthrough single, "White People for Peace," released on May 1st 2007.

Against Me! was formed in 1997 by singer/guitarist Laura Jane Grace as a solo act, who would occasionally use backing musicians. The first release was titled “1997 cassette demo”, followed by another demo “Vivida Vis!” in 1998. The band’s first official EP “Against Me!” was released in 2000 through Crasshold Records. Following the routine idea of releasing EP’s, the band found themselves releasing their first full-length studio album entitled “Against Me! Is Reinventing Axl Rose” and released by No Idea Records in March 2002. All music called it “an impressive debut that manages to combine fist-in-the-air singalong choruses, lagered-up rhythms, and urgent drumbeats with the underground”.

Their follow up album, “Against Me! as the Eternal Cowboy” released on November 3rd 2003, followed suit maintaining their following and receiving similar levels of critical acclaim. From this album, they released the singles “Cavalier Eternal” and “Sink, Florida Sink”. Grace described it as a concept album that explores love and war.

“New Wave” released on July 10th 2007 was the first album that featured in the Billboard 200, debuting at no. 57 on the Billboard 200 charts. It received critical acclaim and also went to no. 11 on the modern rock chart. It was #1 on Spin Magazine’s Album of the Year and #9 on Rolling Stone’s list of the Top 50 Albums of 2007.

Against Me!'s “White Crosses,” released on June 4th 2010, reached no. 34 on the Billboard 200.

Live reviews

I saw Against Me! when they opened for Rise Against in Lincoln, Nebraska. It was an extremely hot day and an early afternoon show. The stage was only about a foot off the floor and the band made their way through the bar to the stage.

The band got in their places, Tom behind the microphone, Warren on drums and Andrew on bass. Tom introduced the band and then they started to rock. The band started with the slower paced Sink, Florida, Sink, and immediately people rushed the stage. As they climbed on stage singing, two stepping, and stage diving off, the band played on barley taking notice of the mayhem.

The band played all there best sing along songs including “T.S.R” and “Those Anarcho Punks are Mysterious”, but when they got to “Pints of Guinness Make you Strong” everyone went crazy diving off the stage and stealing the microphone from Tom.

The Show ended with the band playing “We Laugh at Danger (And Break All the Rules)”. As they played they invited all their fans on stage to sing with them. The stage was immediately filled with punk rockers, singing and stomping. Arm in arm the fans finished the song with the band and started jumping off the stage as the show let out. The band hung out outside for a while meeting fans and hanging out.

I was so excited to see Against Me! for the first time and it exceeded my expectations ten-fold. Having been to so many shows, I haven't experienced that spiritual revival-type feeling that I used to get when I was a teenager and music was still new to me. This was one of those times where I felt like my head was going to explode. That my heart was going to explode. That the roof was going to blow off the venue. The amount of emotion that Laura puts into her music is overwhelming in the best way. People were hurting with her and cheering with her and raising their middle fingers high with her. It was one of the best shows I've ever experienced. I'm telling people who aren't even interested in this style of music to go see them. It's a life-changing experience. That's so cheesy but it's so true. Thanks, Against Me! for an incredible night.

I love Against Me!

Yesterday I went to the show at Dynamo in Zurich and I was not disappointed. Unfortunately, I think Against Me! was disappointed with the crowd. Dynamo is a "youth culture" centre run by the city and some of the crowd was oblivious to the treat of having this awesome band perform for them. It seemed more interesting to them create a mosh pit. Even the sarcasms from Laura was lost on them. The only strange thing was that these mindless youngsters knew a lot of the lyrics!?

Anyway, it saddened me to see that Laura told James "We are not coming back" on stage (yes, i saw that). There were a large number of people further back that were really really appreciating the music. I hope next time they come to Europe it will not be too far away. Do your self a favour.

Go and see --- and listen to! --- Against Me!

Against Me! are a band that doesn't have nearly as much recognition as they should, not only because of the fantastic work frontwoman Laura Jane Grace is doing helping people to understand the journey of transgender people in our society, but also because they just plain rock. Politics or no, this band is punk rock in the purest sense of the word. They radiate energy from the stage and the crowd can't help but eat it up. I couldn't help but sing along with every song I knew. It was literally out of my control. That should tell you what kind of influence this band has on the audience, and frankly, I wouldn't have it any other way. Against Me! is a band I would go to see over and over again without hesitation.

I just saw Against Me! at the Paramount in Huntington, NY. I've seen them once before, but wow, these guys played a tight show! Nonstop energy, stellar Instrumentation, and genuine chemistry with the crowd throughout. I've read opinions that some feel this band has sold out, but this show couldn't be further from that claim. It was pure punk from start to finish and they didn't even play some of their most popular radio songs. I'm so glad I caught them at this departure gig from their current role supporting on a major tour. One of the best live performances I've ever seen! Typesetter and Mobina Galore were top-notch as well.

I saw Against Me! at the Showbox in Seattle on September 9th. They were so good. This was my second time seeing Against Me! and they are one of my favorite groups to see live. I absolutely love the energy and enthusiasm Laura puts into her music. You can really tell that these songs mean something. I love seeing bands where it looks like everyone is having fun playing, and Against Me! is definitely one of those groups. They played a nice long set with a good mix of old and new, as well as popular songs and lesser known ones. It was a great show, and I can’t wait till they come to town again.

I saw Against Me! open for Bad Religion in Seattle at Showbox Sodo on 10/26/16. Holy crap. They were fantastic. Laura is absolutely amazing. I liked Against Me before the show, but I am a huge fan now. Even though they were openers, they played about a 45 minute set and hit all the hits and a few lesser known songs. So freaking good. This night also has my favorite concert moment when Bad Religion had Laura come out and perform Television with them. Fantastic.

This was one of the best shows I've seen in years (and I go to a lot of shows). It was like having the band, Against Me, make sweet love to you and then pay off all your credit card debt!

I love shows at the Observatory. It's a great venue. The opener- Chris Farren was fantastic. The planets truly aligned on Monday night in Santa Ana and I was lucky to be there.

kristensbellydance’s profile image

Excellent show. Great energy in the crowd and a surprise playing of Going to Georgia totally made my night.

I've been to two shows at Subterranean and they tend to make the band sound a little too loud and it overpowers the vocals. In this instance, the crowd singing along helped with this, but if I had a criticism, it'd be that.

seglda’s profile image

Excellent as usual. This is the 4th time I've seen them and they delivered just like every other time. Spectra Sonic had everything organized well and the openers killed! Especially Mobina Galore! Rad Ladies!

The 10 best songs by Against Me!

The finest anthems plucked from Against Me!'s back catalogue

Against Me! in 2014

So Against Me! are one of the best punk bands going. We know this. You know this. The Gainesville quartet have rattled through seven full-lengths since their debut LP, 2002’s Against Me! Is Reinventing Axl Rose , and have unleashed myriad gems in the form of b-sides and demos. Right now, we’re focussing on the group’s 10 greatest album tracks.

10. Because Of The Shame (2010)

Fifth album White Crosses was produced by Nirvana / Smashing Pumpkins album captain Butch Vig and, as a result, it’s slicker than a lubed-up penguin bombing down a bowling alley. And that is why Because Of The Shame works so well. Essentially a Bruce Springsteen song the Boss couldn’t be arsed to record, this track’s piano intro, post-chorus “WOAH-OAH-OAH!” and twinkly key progression all point to stuff like Thunder Road , Save My Love, Hungry Heart and the like; the final riff basically sounds like Springsteen’s broken into the studio with a Telecaster and just gone, “You’re welcome,” before riding into the sunset on his motorbike, or something equally cool. Because Of The Shame isn’t typically Against Me! but it’s an anthem nonetheless.

9. Turn Those Clapping Hands Into Angry Balled Fists (2003)

Another oddity now, this time from the band’s second LP, Against Me! As The Eternal Cowboy . Save for the Moog-drenched 8 Full Hours Of Sleep from Reinventing Axl Rose , the band hadn’t really jumped outside their booze-drenched punk template. As The Eternal Cowboy changed this, most notably on Turn Those Clapping Hands Into Angry Balled Fists . The near-five minute duration is kept ticking by Warren Oakes’ superb timekeeping behind the kit, exercising restraint until the band reach a hearty crescendo during the song’s climax. Laura Jane Grace’s mundane lyrics escalate and descend into a cry of “I hate this stupid fuckin’ drumbeat but I’m not gonna tell anyone ,” to which Oakes responds with a saucy fill. So yeah, maybe it’s not the most immediate track on As The Eternal Cowboy , but Turn Those Clapping Hands Into Angry Balled Fists remains heinously catchy while expanding Against Me!’s palette.

8. Holy Shit! (2005)

“The guitars exploding to a drumbeat that’s driving. It’s pretty fucking boring, oh don’t you think?” Poor Oakes, no wonder he bloody left. Anyway, Against Me’s third record, Searching For A Former Clarity , was a further-reaching affair than the previous two, but Holy Shit! ’s mid-tempo, country-infused rock is a standout example of the band’s talent within the confines of a seemingly simple song. Grace’s “Good God!” line through the chorus is eerily reminiscent of Marilyn Manson when he really drawled on his earlier stuff, while Andrew Seward’s surprise bass in the first verse is a left-of-centre treat.

7. Stop! (2007)

The catchiest pop song that was never a pop song. Done.

6. Bamboo Bones (2010)

Capping off White Crosses , Bamboo Bones remains the record’s highlight and leaves a warm, fuzzy feeling once it’s over. Yeah, it’s clean, it’s well-produced, but can you not hear the conviction behind Grace’s words? Just because it’s expressed through that soaring chorus’ harmonised vocals as opposed to screaming until she coughs up blood, doesn’t mean it’s any less heartfelt. Aside from the song’s undeniably massive, squeaky clean delivery, a spasmodic bridge of feedback and fuzz hits before that elated, final refrain.

5. Cliché Guevara (2003)

Rattling with a scuzzed-up Springsteen riff before descending into Against Me!’s now-trademark, chest-beating folked-up punk, Cliché Guevara is an As The Eternal Cowboy gem and an absolute arse-ripper live. It’s an exercise in brevity, politicised barbs shooting from Grace’s gob in a tirade of precise, pin-pointed rage. But mate, it is so catchy. “A new waaaaay on!” will probably be stuck in your ears until you die/go deaf and James Bowman’s isolating six-sting hammering before the second verse is moshpit-inducing magic.

4. Unprotected Sex With Multiple Partners (2005)

Bouncing like Franz Ferdinand but, well, good, Unprotected Sex With Multiple Partners takes Grace’s rantology approach spread across Searching For A Former Clarity and spits it all out atop this infectiously groove-laden number. Grace breaks down management deals and the filtration of the band’s capital, her pissed-off declaration, “Gotta make your money while you got the chance, do whatever it takes to sell it” holding even more weight given that the band signed to Sire just three months after this record’s release. One of Against Me!’s boldest dancefloor anthems and, y’know, they’ve got a few.

3. Pints Of Guinness Make You Strong (2002)

Reinventing Axl Rose is a primitive, bloody-nosed debut record that shines to this day. Its opening track, Pints Of Guinness Make You Strong , pretty much epitomises most of the record’s content; low-fi, wiry guitars; Grace’s impassioned, untrained screams and multi-layered melodies; the country-drenched Wild West strings and subsequent acoustic guitars riding the song’s relentless trot; the gang vocals, ARGH ¸ the gang vocals. Against Me! moved away from this raucously raw brand of punk pretty quickly, but traces of it remained in various forms and Pints Of Guinness Make You Strong is arguably its strongest showing, still after all these years. “AND JUST LIKE JAMES, I’LL BE DRINKING IRISH TONIIIIIIGHT!”

2. Thrash Unreal (2007)

No, it’s not a thrash song. Although Against Me! didn’t bless us with their interpretation of Pleasure To Kill , they did pen an absolute beast that stands out as a highlight on fourth LP New Wave ; that album’s pretty much perfect, so to have any song raise its hand and say, “No, I’m the best one” is testament to the band’s quality control. That backing vocal. That build into the chorus. Everything about Thrash Unreal just bleeds authenticity, from its bare bones composition to its lyrics’ confessional nature. Against Me! were labelled sell-outs following New Wave ’s release on Warner subsidiary Sire Records. Imagine . Like, actually imagine listening to Thrash Unreal ’s unmistakeable honesty and marking it the work of a money-grabber. Dicks.

1. True Trans Soul Rebel (2014)

Much like Pints Of Guinness Make You Strong summed up Reinventing Axl Rose , the lynchpin of 2014’s masterwork Transgender Dysphoria Blues is undoubtedly True Trans Soul Rebel. Intertwining Grace’s own gender transition with a concept revolving around a fictional transsexual prostitute, the album is second only to New Wave in terms of quality and True Trans Soul Rebel is its flag-waving representative. “You should’ve been a mother, you should’ve been a wife. You should’ve been gone from here years ago, you should be living a different life” is one of Grace’s most poignant batch of lyrics and, backed by that certified winner of a chorus, True Trans Soul Rebel is set up as an Against Me! classic and one of the finest, most empowering rock songs of recent times.

Against Me!’s new album Shape Shift With Me is out now. The band are currently on tour .

Against Me! to Play Four Albums in Full on Fall Tour

Against Me! will hit the road this fall to play four of their albums in full over two nights in select cities.

The tour, titled "2 Nights / 4 Records / 48 Songs," will feature the band performing its classic albums Searching For A Former Clarity , New Wave , White Crosses and  Transgender Dysphoria Blues in their entirety. Full album performances are also confirmed for this year’s The Fest in Gainesville, Fla., from Nov.1 to 3.

“While working on new music this year — before we move forward into the future — we thought it would be fun to revisit the past, the albums that got us to where we are now," frontwoman Laura Jane Grace said of the tour. "Like chapters in a book, there’s a narrative that flows through these four albums that we’ve never had the chance before to present in this context, as one complete story. I’m excited to share the songs as a whole in this way. This is probably the closest I will ever come to being a part of a ‘Rock Opera’ of any sorts.”

A great live experience

They’re just as good live as on their records. Laura has such a stage presence to her you want to hang on every word and sing along to all their songs! So much energy you couldn’t stop moving all night! Will definitely see again given the opportunity!

Incredible Fun Was Had By All

Against Me NEVER disappoints, the show was SO much fun from start to finish! I cannot wait for the next chance to see them again!

You can feel all the love and passion in the music this band performs. They love what they do. It helps the venue is both intimate and has amazing sound. I loved the show from start to finish. They gave me goosebumps. If i could see them perform every other album they have I would be there.

Against Me! Rules

Against Me! rules forever. Love the venue. Staff were helpful. The band was great both nights. See them often.

I think Ticketmaster needs to update the bands bio

Tom Gabel is no longer the lead singer of the band and trust me when I say they sound a lot different....lol

Amazing Show!!!!

Once again I felt Against Me! knocked it out of the ball park. They had the crowed going from beginning to end. I really enjoyed the smaller venue as I was able to experience the band better and was able to rock out with the crowed. I will be going to the next Against Me! show for sure :-) I also enjoyed the opening bands Birthday Boys and Saint Alvia. I felt Saint Alvia was especially good.

one of my favorite bands!!!

Against Me played to a sold out crowd and did not disappoint. They played for almost two hours with very few talking breaks(they don't waste time) and blasted out a great set. They seem to be starting of their shows with classics and then going into some of the slower more pop sided songs. I have seen them five times and will go anytime they are in town.

No mediocrity here. Absolutely amazing concert. Against Me! Played a great set, old and new tracks. So much energy! One of the best concerts i've ever seen. Mod Club was a great venue, small enough that no matter where you are, youre close to the stage.

I was a very good show. The venue was perfect and intimate, plus the bands are awesome!

Awesome set. The last couple of times AM! have been through Winnipeg, something has been lacking in a big, bad way, but seeing them this time was like going back 5-6 years, it was fantastic. Great setlist, AWESOME energy.

The band is also reportedly working on the follow-up to their 2016 album, Shape Shift With Me , that’s expected to arrive this year. In an interview with Rolling Stone , Laura Jane Grace said of the LP, “Right now I’m trying to grasp and struggle with the idea of, ‘All right, how do you record and release an album in 2020 and not have it be completely eclipsed by the election?'”

As for Baroness, the Georgia prog-metal outfit released their latest album, Gold & Grey , last year. They’ll be touring Australia, New Zealand and Japan this spring, with a European run scheduled for the summer, after the co-headlining tour with Against Me!

About Against Me!

Passionate, raw, and complex, Against Me! ensnared punk rock fans with their no-holds-barred attitude. Pick up your cheap Against Me! tickets here for a non-stop night of punk rock!

Music against the norms Against Me! started in 1997, the pet project of lead singer Laura Jane Grace after she dropped out of high school. Laura Jane Grace moved to Gainesville, performing where she could, meeting more musicians along the way and adopting them into the band. After a series of EPs, Against Me! unleashed their debut album on the world in 2002. Driven by the injustice of political and social ills, Against Me!'s music is raw and emotional. Against Me! continued to release albums that resonated with listeners around the world, and in 2007 New Wave was chosen as Spin' s album of the year. In 2011 the group founded their own label to produce their music. The next year, Against Me! released one of their most lauded albums, Transgender Dysphoria Blues, a concept album inspired by the struggles Laura Jane Grace endured in her own transgender dysphoria.

With a brand new album in 2016, fan excitement is high to see Against Me! back on stage. Beat the rush of devoted fans! Snag your cheap Against Me! tickets here before they're all gone!

Escuela Grind Responds To Allegations Made by Former Driver + Tour Manager

escuela-grind-responds-to-allegations-made-by-former-driver-tour-manager

The Massachusetts grindcore band Escuela Grind has released a statement responding to recent accusations made against them by a former employee and tour manager.

A couple of weeks ago the bad’s former tour driver came forward with accusations saying that they had experienced “mistreatment” while working for them . They also accused the band’s former tour manager of sexually harassing them.

Earlier this week, the band’s former tour manager, Chris Cotter, released a statement addressing the allegations made against him by Destiny and commented on his experience working with Escuela Grind.

Escuela Grind didn’t issue a statement following Destiny’s allegations, but now following the statement from Cotter, the band has released a statement via social media. You can read the entirety of that statement below.

Escuela Grind statement

“We have publicly stayed quiet about the conflict between our previous driver and previous tour manager. We felt it best to first let them each have their say. The band faced challenges during a six-week tour where we were responsible for many supporting bands. We hired a full crew for the very first time. Mistakes were made in the hiring process, ultimately causing issues the core members had never experienced before on a tour.

“Ultimately, we made mistakes. We tried to do what we thought was best, and in the end it wasn’t. We did not know about the personal issues between our former driver and TM until they posted about it online. We immediately parted ways with him. We failed, but we have learned.

“Our driver quit on their own terms. They were not abandoned. They chose to go when they did, and we did not know about their plans. Their flight was nonrefundable and non-changeable. The driver was paid in cash weekly. We mailed a check to them for their final week so that we had proper proof of receipt and deposit. We have many receipts of us trying to get in touch with them to pay them through alternative methods like Venmo, etc.

“We take blame for not making our expectations clearer and properly vetting our driver.

“There was never a moment where either the TM or driver approached us about the concerns they presented in their statements. If approached, we would have acted on this information immediately. Absolutely nothing verbal nor physical was observed in the times we were present. There was never a moment where our TM seriously expressed that he was uncomfortable with the jokes being made on tour. Jokes and nicknames were created just like any other tour. The TM encouraged and instigated many of these jokes, and it appears he is trying to absolve himself of wrongdoing by misrepresenting facts, while still admitting to his inappropriate behavior towards our former driver.

“We understand that we let our fans down over the last weeks with our inability to address this situation directly and that has been difficult. Thank you for bearing with us. Bands work in environments where social boundaries are constantly crossed. It seems like a paradox; to find the balance between having a crazy fun tour and being strait-laced professionals. We are working through our growing pains.

“This is our final statement on this matter. We now focus on moving forward, and working to be the best we can be at all times. We love y’all always.”

Millions of voters in states across the country cast their ballots in the presidential primary on Super Tuesday, leaving little doubt that the November election will be a rematch between President Biden and former President Donald J. Trump.

But in a race that is increasingly inevitable, a New York Times/Siena College poll found a critical group of voters who are making the outcome of that race anything but certain.

Nate Cohn, The Times’s chief political analyst, explains who these voters are and why they present a particular threat to Mr. Biden.

Four arrested after Spanish blogger on India motorcycle tour gangraped

The couple had set up a tent to pass the night in Jharkhand state’s Dumka as seven men attacked them.

Women in India protest rape

Indian authorities have arrested four people suspected of being part of a group that gangraped a Spanish tourist and assaulted her partner.

The woman – whose identity was not revealed by the authorities – is a travel blogger with more than 200,000 followers on Instagram.

She was travelling with her partner in the eastern Indian state of Jharkhand when the attack happened on Friday night.

The couple had stopped their motorbikes and set up a tent to pass the night in the state’s Dumka district before a group of seven men attacked them.

All the members of the group have been identified and the remaining suspects will be arrested “soon”, Jharkhand police chief Ajay Kumar Singh told The Indian Express newspaper.

“They had beaten us and robbed us, although not many things [were taken] because what they wanted was to rape me,” the 28-year-old woman said in an Instagram post.

In another post, her male partner said he was hit several times in the head with a helmet and that his “mouth is destroyed”.

A patrol car rescued the duo late on Friday night after the assault and escorted them to a local hospital.

The couple were touring South Asia and had concluded a trip to Sri Lanka before the Indian leg of their journey.

Sexual violence targeting women is common in India, with women from minority tribal communities being particularly at risk. Taboos around speaking up about the crime and low conviction rates of suspects add to the problem.

An average of nearly 90 rapes were reported in India every day, meaning one woman was raped every 18 minutes, in 2022, according to the National Crime Records Bureau, which recorded 31,516 rape cases that year.

Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh states recorded the highest number of cases.

International women's day 2024 hero banner purple

This International Women’s Day, 8 March 2024, join the United Nations in celebrating under the theme Invest in women: Accelerate progress .

The world is facing many crises, ranging from geopolitical conflicts to soaring poverty levels and the escalating impacts of climate change. These challenges can only be addressed by solutions that empower women. By investing in women, we can spark change and speed the transition towards a healthier, safer, and more equal world for all.

Needed per year to achieve gender equality

An additional $360 billion is needed per year to achieve gender equality.

20% to boost GDP per capita could be achieved by closing the gender gap

Closing gender gaps in employment could boost GDP per capita by 20 per cent.

300 million jobs created by 2030 by investing in care services

Closing gaps in care and expanding services with decent jobs could spark almost 300 million jobs by 2035.

If current trends continue, more than  342 million women and girls could be living extreme poverty  by 2030. To ensure women’s needs and priorities are considered, governments must prioritize gender-responsive financing and increase public spending on essential services and social protection.

Policymakers must also value, recognize, and account for the vital contribution women make to economies worldwide through paid and unpaid care work.  Women spend around three times more time on unpaid care work than men and if these activities were assigned a monetary value they would account for more than 40 per cent of GDP .

Investing in women and championing gender equality turbocharges a future where everyone in society can thrive, creating a world of boundless opportunity and empowerment for all.

Ja Rule ‘devastated’ after being denied entry into UK for tour due to criminal record

Thanks for contacting us. We've received your submission.

Ja Rule is having to face the consequences of being a rule breaker.

The New York-born rapper expressed in a new interview that he is deeply disappointed after he was denied entry into the UK for his upcoming tour, The Sunrise Tour, due to his criminal record in the US.

“I’m devastated. As you guys say over there, I’m gutted by this whole situation,” he said on “Piers Morgan Uncensored” earlier this week.

“I put a lot into this tour. It’s my 25-year anniversary of my first album, ‘Venni Vetti Vecci,’ and so, you know, I wanted to give my fans something special, a really nice thank you for the 25 years of them being with me throughout my career just to support.”

Ja Rule.

Ja Rule requires a work visa to be able to perform in the UK since he is an American citizen and is traveling to Great Britain for career purposes.

However, the Home Office – which is the governing body in the UK that oversees immigration and security – did not grant the “Mesmerize” rapper the proper documentation he needs.

Ja Rule claimed he found out about the issues surrounding his visa at the “last minute,” and told Piers Morgan that ultimately it “really sucks” the most for the fans.

“To me, Piers, that hurts the most,” the “Always On Time” rapper said. “I really, really was putting on for the people. I built an amazing stage for them, an amazing set, so I’m hurt by this.”

Ja Rule’s criminal record includes a charge for a club beating in Canada in 2004 and a two-year sentence for gun charges , for which the “New York” rapper began to serve time in 2011.

That same year, Ja Rule was given 28 months in prison for failing to file taxes in New Jersey.

When Morgan, 58, brought up his criminal past, the “Livin’ It Up” raper dismissed the gun violation in particular as a “really silly conviction,” noting that guns are now legal “all over the country” in the US.

“People can get them now with minimal to no background checks in certain cities and states out here in America,” he added, later explaining that he had the weapon in the first place for “protection.”

Ja Rule then pointed out that he hasn’t committed a crime or been in prison in over 10 years.

Morgan also pressed the “Put It On Me” rapper on why tickets were able to be sold for shows in England, Scotland and Ireland if the visa situation had not been confirmed, to which Ja Rule said he did not want to place the blame on anyone else, noting the touring company he worked with was very “reputable.”

When the “Holla Holla” rapper first found out about the entry denial, he sounded off on the decision on X.

“The UK is one of the few European countries that restricts entry to people with criminal records,” Ja Rule wrote in late February.

Ja Rule.

“In general, you will likely be denied entry if you have been convicted of a crime punishable by 23 months or more under British law or served more than 12 months in prison. This… 🤬”

He then continued at the time, “I’m so devastated I can’t believe the UK won’t let me in I’ve spent a half million dollars in production of my own money to put this tour together only to be denied entry DAYS before my shows this is not fair to me or my fans these venues are 85% sold and now I can’t come…”

Ja Rule concluded his interview with Morgan by joking he’d tell the Home Office to “let [him] in” before adding he would like to work with the government to see how “exceptions” can be made for their laws.

HENDERSON, Nev. – The two-time defending champion Las Vegas Aces became the first WNBA team to sell out its allotted season tickets, the club said Thursday.

Las Vegas, which sold out its approximately 8,600 season tickets, led the league in attendance last season with 9,551 fans per game and had nine sellouts. Most games were at Michelob Ultra Arena. The Aces played twice at the much larger T-Mobile Arena where they drew more than 12,000 fans for both games.

Single-game tickets for most games will go on sale in late April. There also will be single tickets available later this month for the Aces' game at T-Mobile on Sept. 3 against the Chicago Sky.

Las Vegas, which opens its season on May 14 against the Phoenix Mercury, will try to become the second team in WNBA history to win three championships in a row. The Houston Comets won four straight titles from 1997-2000.

The Aces defeated the New York Liberty in four games in last season's WNBA Finals. Las Vegas is a plus-100 favorite to win another championship, according to FanDuel Sportsbook . New York is the next closest at plus-230. No other team is close.
