Fresh snow will bring fresh faces to the Hallmark holidays, too, including Broadway veterans Laura Osnes, Krystal Joy Brown, and Aaron Tveit, along with Janel Parrish, Marisol Nichols, Alvina August, Victoria Clark, and Jeremy Jordan. The 2020 slate looks to be more diverse, and features a gay couple trying to adopt ( Christmas House , starring Jonathan Bennett and Brad Harder) as well as a woman who discovers via a DNA test that she's Jewish ( Love, Lights, Hanukkah!, starring Mia Kirshner, Ben Savage, and Marilu Henner). There's also a movie titled... Never Kiss a Man in a Christmas Sweater . Hallmark is also expanding its holiday empire with wines and books, the return of the Bubbly Sesh podcast, Yuletide-themed episodes of the Hallmark Channel's talk show Home & Family , and, yes, enough reruns of Hallmark Christmas movie classics to sew you to your sofa through January. Hallmark Is Releasing Its First-Ever Queer Christmas Film

Plus everything else you need to know about Hallmark's 23 new holiday movies.

The Christmas House Hallmark

This year, Hallmark is unleashing 23 new holiday movies upon the masses — yes, 23 — and each one is filled with more Christmas cheer and holiday hookups than the last. You want films with punny titles that play on Christmas carols? Done. Movies about finding love in a small town over the holidays? Naturally. How about a flick about a magical carousel that sends one of the Mowry twins back in time? Uh, sure. Hallmark has all of these and a lot more, so take a look below to see their most exciting new holiday movies along with a list of when all 23 are premiering on the Hallmark channel.

Christmas In Vienna

Christmas in a beautiful European city is always more romantic, right? And that should be especially true for this film about a concert violinist who finds holiday love in Austria.

A Timeless Christmas

This wacky time-travel romance sees a 1903 aristocrat travel to 2020, where he celebrates Christmas (sans coronavirus) and falls for the tour guide of what used to be his estate.

A Nashville Christmas Carol

Sure, you've seen a million versions of A Christmas Carol . But have you ever seen one that stars Wynonna Judd as a gender-swapped, countrified Jacob Marley? Didn't think so!

Good Morning Christmas!

Two big-city TV hosts who despise each other (one of whom is played by Days of Our Lives legend Alison Sweeney) have to spend Christmas together in a small town, where they discover... you can see where this is going.

Alison Sweeney and Marc Blucas in 'Good Morning Christmas!.'

Christmas She Wrote

Sadly, this is not a Murder, She Wrote spinoff, but it's nearly as good. The Wonder Years ' Danica McKellar stars as a romance columnist who falls for the man who canceled her column. Getting some serious You've Got Mail vibes with this one.

Cross Country Christmas

Two former schoolmates ( rom-com fave Rachael Leigh Cook and country-set holiday movie vet Greyston Holt) become trapped in a snowstorm while traveling to their hometown and must work together to make it there in time for Christmas. Like Planes, Trains, and Automobiles , but slightly more romantic.

A Christmas Carousel

Finally, some royal romance action. A regular ol' American gal is contracted to help the Prince of Marcadia (ok) rebuild a carousel in time for Christmas. Sounds like Marcadia is getting a new princess!

Christmas Comes Twice

Tamera Mowry-Housley plays a woman who gets a second chance at finding holiday love after a carousel sends her back in time five years in a film that combines Hallmark's two big themes for this year: time travel and carousels.

The Christmas House

Mean Girls actor Jonathan Bennett stars in Hallmark's first-ever LGBTQ holiday film, following a gay couple looking to adopt their first child.

Love, Lights, Hanukkah!

You're probably sick of Christmas movies by now, so how about that rarest of birds: a Hanukkah movie! This one is about a woman who finds out she's Jewish on a DNA test and subsequently has an eight-night romance with Ben Savage from Boy Meets World .

Synopsis (via Hallmark)

Charles Whitley travels from 1903 to 2020, where he meets Megan Turner and experiences a 21st Century Christmas.

The movie starts at a 1903 auction; Charles wins a timeless Christmas Clock he plans to give it to his fiance, Eliza. They all talk in maybe British accents, except to the maid Rosey, who isn’t even trying! Rosey doesn’t seem to care for Eliza and advises Charles that he should wait for true love. Charles tinkers with the Christmas Clock during a full moon to get it working again and sends himself into the 21st century.

2020, Megan (a distant relative of Rosey) works as a tour guide for the historic manor. Charles has a huge painting on the wall and mysteriously disappeared one night in 1903. The REAL Charles wakes up and is very confused. He kicks the tour out of the manor and gets angry with the staff for impersonating his servants. They think Charles is an actor who is WAY too method. Charles doesn’t understand anything. Carm planes, microwaves all confused him.

Charles is insistent that he is from the past, and Megan starts to consider that he could be telling the truth. After Charles is taken away by the police, she searches for a hole in the floor and finds a secret compartment with the Christmas clock and old notes.

Megan spring Charles out of jail and takes him for pizza. Megan is a scholar and studied his history for her dissertation. She informs him that his assets have been liquidated, and his home turned into a museum. His name is his legacy in 2020. Charles wants to go back. (That is until he figures out what TV is.) Charles spends the night in the manor and wakes up the next day, agreeing to play himself on tour. Megan and Charles flirt in front of the guests.

Charles is a hit with his fellow actors and director. The tour reviews call him a hunk, which he is. Megan uses his first week’s salary to buy Charles’s new clothing and more pizza. Then they go to the town Christmas tree lighting, and when the townsfolk start singing, “We wish you a Merry Christmas.” Charles doesn’t know the words because it wasn’t written until 1903; it was written in 1935. (Love all these little details.) Megan doesn’t just teach him about songs; she explains the entirety of the internet and cellphones. Then the movie is over because that took so long.

Just kidding, the Christmas moon is coming, and Charles realizes that the clock paired with the moon could have something to do with his time travel. They ask Kenny, the tour director, to check it out. He shows them the archives and tells them to have at it. Charles read up on time travel in old books, instead of the INTERNET! Megan doesn’t want him to leave and tells him to be happy to be where he is. She invites him to a family party to show her family traditions. Charles learns more than he bargains for via a family PowerPoint. Eliza married his sworn enemy. He feels betrayed, but thanks, Megan, for telling him the truth. (Only after getting caught trying to hide the truth.)

While on a job interview at the university, Megan sees the clock and brings it to Charles. She tells him that he has to try to go back to 1903. Charles is beginning to think that he might want to stay. At least for the manor’s holiday party.

Charles makes his grand entrance and looks fab. Everyone at the party notices and is super into it. Charles makes an impassioned speech about remembering your past but embracing your present. Then he dances with actor Eliza while Megan watches on, confused, and hoping he will stay. Charles gives Megan a Christmas present, he is going to stay because they deserve happiness. They kiss and plan to spend NYE together. Hopefully, that means a sequel!

Very enjoyable review, you really gave me a giggle!

In the “A Timeless Christmas” TV movie,Charles James Whitley, born June 6th 1870, was NEVER in jail, as the ‘review’ states. I’m surprised, that during questioning, at the station, that the good Sheriff NEVER asked Mister Whitley for any ID. Guess he assumed,…’all is good’.

Hallmark's Christmas Movie Schedule for 2020 Includes More LGTBQ Storylines

And, of course, Lacey Chabert, as always.

preview for All of the 2020 Hallmark Holiday Movies

  • The movies will air on Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, featuring Lacey Chabert, Candace Cameron Bure, Chaley Rose, and more.
  • Among the films is The Christmas House, starring Jonathan Bennett, which features an LGBTQ+ storyline about a couple looking to adopt a child.

We're officially in full Christmas mode , giving us the perfect opportunity to engage in some feel-good fare. As always, Hallmark has one of the jolliest slates of programming, with 40 new movies airing this season—and nope, you don't need to have cable to watch many of them .

23 of the Christmas movies will screen on Hallmark Channel , while an additional 17 will appear on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries . Regular Hallmark stars like Lacey Chabert, Candace Cameron Bure, Greyston Holt, and Tamera Mowry-Housley are returning in a variety of roles.

Chabert appears in Time for Us to Come Home for Christmas, which is notable because it is the third Hallmark film produced by country music star Blake Shelton.

Notably, Jonathan Bennett (of Mean Girls -fame) will star in The Christmas House which features an LGBTQ+ storyline about a gay couple hoping to adopt their first child. There has been a meaningful uptick in representation among holiday films this year, as Lifetime is airing its first LGBTQ+ Christmas film, too.

Bennett is having a pretty stellar holiday season all around this year, as he got engaged to boyfriend Jaymes Vaughan in late November, per People .

"I looked over and saw Jaymes holding a sign that said 'We never did find our song, so I wrote it for you.' That’s when I knew was getting proposed to because it was the same type of sign he made when he told me he loved me for the first time," he told the magazine. "And then I began to ugly-cry the ugliest cry anyone has ever cried."

Without further ado, here's a look at Hallmark's full Christmas movie schedule, with details on the festive flicks, including the stars and what to expect from their comfortingly cheesy storylines.

Together they travel in time, enjoy some Christmas and maybe have time for a romance?

What Is Hallmark’s  A Timeless Christmas About?

Although he came up from poverty, he is now affluent and inquisitive. When he begins to repair on a gorgeous clock that he purchased on his travels, he suddenly finds himself transported to now.

Megan Turner (Cahill) works at the home. She loves history. Most of all, the tour guide loves the man, Charles Whiteley. So, when he does appear at the mansion, she helps him reconcile what actually happened.

Megan is the only one he can trust. She introduces him to pizza, smartphones and flat screen televisions. Charles likes the future a lot. But, he is still unsettled about what brought him there in the first place.

Can Charles uncover what transported him into the future? Most of all, is there a place where the two can live happily ever after.

Director Ron Oliver and Ryan Paevey are matched up again. In addition, the costumes for this time travel romance are gorgeous. This promises to be one of the top Hallmark Christmas movies of 2020.

Kenny Kwon Is In Every Ron Oliver Movie

Will actor Nelson Wong make one of his infamous Kenny Kwon cameos in A Timeless Christmas ? The previews have not indicted that he is there, but the odds are good. A few months back, Nelson and director Ron Oliver were interviewed on the Deck The Hallmark podcast. Turns out, Nelson has appeared in over 27 Ron Oliver movies and television series.

What a big day! Today…we were joined by…KENNY!!! We finally did it! We had to much fun catching up with our pal Ron Oliver & breaking down the #Kennyverse with Nelson Wong! You can listen wherever you listen to the show OR watch it on @frndlytv ! #goteamgo pic.twitter.com/olC0H3UBaf — Deck The Hallmark Podcast (@hallmarkpodcast) April 9, 2020

There are three Vanessa Hudgens characters in the sequel The Princess Switch: Switched Again .

Every year, a barrage of holiday films arrives to fill our lives with sweaters, children, chaste kisses, and even Santa. We've rounded up the ones from Hallmark, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, Lifetime, OWN, Hulu, Netflix, TV One, Bounce and BET, so you can find whatever you might be looking for. Along the way, I've made some notes about elements that recur over and over again, in case you're the kind of person who specifically wants to seek out old flames (which are sometimes just old friends, to be honest, but: same deal), or plots that revolve around ruses, or whatever your favorite may be. Some have already premiered, but most of those are still in circulation if you check your listings.

Christmas On Ice (Lifetime, premiered 10/23): A figure skater who runs the local ice rink in her adorable hometown will need help from a hockey player (who's the single dad to a moppet ) to save the critical community asset . They really missed out by not calling this something like The Tree-Cutting Edge .

Jingle Bell Bride (Hallmark, premiered 10/24): A wedding planner visits an adorable small town looking for a rare flower and meets a helpful local . It's a quest!

Christmas Tree Lane (Hallmark M&M, premiered 10/24): Hallmark stalwart Alicia Witt plays the owner of an adorable small business , a music store. She's also working to save the critical community asset of the shopping district from a developer. She will be surprised — but you will not! — to find out that the man she's falling for and the local representative of the developer might be one and the same .

Christmas Unwrapped (Lifetime, premiered 10/24): A reporter investigates a generous local man who plays Santa to his town. But is he actually passing along gifts from ... Santa? The description says she learns the true meaning of Christmas , so I'm assuming she does.

Chateau Christmas (Hallmark, premiered 10/25): A pianist comes back to her beloved hometown for Christmas and meets up with her old flame . And there's probably music!

Deliver By Christmas (Hallmark M&M, premiered 10/25) A bakery owner meets a single dad with a moppet , whom she likes very much. She does not realize that he and the client she's communicating with anonymously are one and the same .

Forever Christmas (Lifetime, premiered 10/25): A serious career woman who works in television is assigned to create a wacky holiday stunt show about a man who cares way too much about Christmas , he might just turn out to be the real gift. (Eh? Eh?) I'm guessing she, too, will learn the true meaning of Christmas , as working women so often do in these things.

Holidate (Netflix, premiered 10/28): Two people who hate Christmas agree to be each other's plus-one for holidays.

A Crafty Christmas Romance (Lifetime, premiered 10/30): A woman who owns a craft store encounters an old book she wants to return to its original owner. She goes on the hunt with a man she doesn't know, and along the way — why yes, it appears they begin to like each other. It's a quest!

One Royal Holiday (Hallmark, premiered 10/31): Broadway performers Laura Osnes and Aaron Tveit star in this story of a royal family that's snowed in with a woman who teaches them the true meaning of Christmas by hosting them in her beloved hometown . It's hard to imagine there's not music, although it's not necessarily indicated.

Cranberry Christmas (Hallmark M&M, premiered 10/31): An estranged married couple participates in a ruse pretending to be happy on television. (This will also save their business; it is not clear how.) I think we all know there's some rekindling coming.

Candy Cane Christmas (Lifetime, premiered 10/31): A woman who loves it when her town cares too much about Christmas is very sad when people decide they're going to skip it this year. But perhaps once there are fewer decorations, she can learn the true meaning of Christmas .

On The 12th Date Of Christmas (Hallmark, premiered 11/1): What happens when two professional rivals who are game designers are tasked with planning a wacky holiday stunt like a Christmas scavenger hunt? They might just fall in love. Might.

Holly & Ivy (Hallmark M&M, premiered 11/1): If you looked at this title and thought, "I wonder if Holly and Ivy are two moppets who will help bring two people together," then you are correct! The two people in this case are the woman who wants to adopt these orphans and the man who's helping her fix up her house. He's played by Jeremy Jordan, so there could be music, but I'm not sure there will probably be music .

The Christmas Aunt (Lifetime, premiered 11/1): Keshia Knight Pulliam stars as an aunt who shows up at Christmas, so we're on track so far. She runs into an old flame and tries to cheer up the moppets with a little "12 Days Of Christmas" action.

A Very Country Christmas Homecoming (UPTV, premiered 11/1) The third in a series, this one finds married couple Zane and Jeannette planning their first Christmas at home, but when a stray family member pops up, things could get messy. (Not that messy; it's UPTV.)

Operation Christmas Drop (Netflix, premiered 11/5): A serious career woman meets a handsome Air Force pilot while trying to shut down the base where he works. Will she stop his treasured holiday tradition of gift-giving in its tracks? WHO CAN SAY?

The Christmas Yule Blog (Lifetime, premiered 11/6): Maybe the worst title of the season? A journalist is unhappy when she has to go to an adorable small town in New Mexico to cover their treasured holiday tradition , a Christmas parade. But a local high school music teacher helps her get into the spirit. There's probably music!

Never Kiss A Man In A Christmas Sweater (Hallmark, premiered 11/7): Hallmark stalwart Ashley Williams plays the single mom of a moppet . A handsome man has no choice but to crash over the holidays , and before you know it, well, you know. Amazingly, the description says they "overcome Christmas," so apparently Santa is completely owned.

The Christmas Ring (Hallmark M&M, premiered 11/7): A journalist teams up with a man to track down the story of an antique ring. It's a quest!

A Welcome Home Christmas (Lifetime, premiered 11/7): This one seems to be almost devoid of conflict! A woman who works with military veterans teams up with a vet to organize a dance. Well, that sounds nice.

Christmas With The Darlings (Hallmark, premiered 11/8): A woman winds up put in charge of dealing with her boss' nephew and nieces, forcing her to crash over the holidays in their giant house with their other uncle. And even though she's organized and he's free-spirited , they just might figure out a way to put this messy family together.

The Christmas Bow (Hallmark M&M, premiered 11/8): This movie has a woman who has to put her fiddling on the back burner after an accident, but who runs into an old flame who might put the zing back in her strings.

A Very Charming Christmas Town (Lifetime, premiered 11/8): A journalist goes to an adorable small town that cares way too much about Christmas to make her "next holiday vlog piece" (urrrgh). When she gets there, the local chocolate maker shows her around. Sparks fly through the ... nougat or what have you.

A Ring For Christmas (UPTV, premiered 11/8): A spoiled rich woman gets cut off. Her only source of funds is money that will be available to her once she gets married. Thus, she has only one choice: Find a guy to participate in a ruse!

The Cozy Snowbound Sweater-Wearing Guide To 2019 Holiday Movies

The Cozy Snowbound Sweater-Wearing Guide To 2019 Holiday Movies

Christmas On The Vine (Lifetime, premieres 11/13): A woman returns to her adorable hometown to help save an adorable small business , a winery. As it turns out, various vultures have been buying up all the wineries, but perhaps she and the owner of this one can find a way forward. Wouldn't that be ... grape? (I regret nothing.) Beloved celebrity Meredith Baxter!

Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey (Netflix, premieres 11/13): Full of actual supernatural forces and original songs from writers including John Legend, this one stars Forest Whitaker as a "legendary toymaker" who falls victim to the machinations of a scheming Keegan-Michael Key, meaning his granddaughter must save Christmas.

Christmas In Vienna (Hallmark, premieres 11/14): Violins really are getting some good publicity this year. A violinist (played by Grey's Anatomy 's Sarah Drew) with the blues (who does not, obviously, play the blues, because it's Hallmark) goes to Vienna, an amazing location location location , where she meets a man played by Hallmark stalwart Brennan Elliott, whom you also might know as UnREAL 's fake Chris Harrison. There might be music ?

Meet Me At Christmas (Hallmark M&M; premieres 11/14): Hallmark stalwart Catherine Bell plays a woman who has to do some emergency event planning with a man she doesn't know when her son's wedding planner quits. But does she really not know him? Or does she just think she doesn't know him?

Christmas On Wheels (Lifetime, premieres 11/14) A woman (played by Tiya Sircar, The Good Place 's Vicky) goes back to her adorable hometown to help out a relative temporarily. But she gets swept away in old family traditions , and she meets a guy, and before she knows it, she's considering whether it's time to leave the big city. She also restores a car, which is why this title exists.

A Timeless Christmas (Hallmark, premieres 11/15): This one involves actual supernatural forces in the form of time travel. A man travels from 1903 to 2020, surprised to find his own house is now a landmark, and a pretty woman is giving tours. That would be unsettling.

The Christmas Doctor (Hallmark M&M; premieres 11/15): Holly Robinson Peete plays a doctor who travels over Christmas for work, only to find that an old flame is in pursuit.

The Christmas Edition (Lifetime, premieres 11/15): A hard-working journalist gets a chance to run an adorable small town's newspaper. Of course, it's in Alaska. But when she gets there, she both falls in love and needs to save the critical community asset , the paper, from various vultures . Beloved celebrity Marie Osmond!

The Princess Switch: Switched Again (Netflix, premieres 11/19): Remember the movie with two Vanessa Hudgenses? Now there are three Vanessa Hudgenses. What will become of the royal family ?

A Taste Of Christmas (Lifetime, premieres 11/20): As you can probably tell from the title, this one is in food world. A woman learns that her cousin ( beloved celebrity Nia Vardalos) has to call off her Christmas even restaurant opening. That will not do! But can she help get the restaurant open in time for Christmas, with the hope of a handsome chef?

A Nashville Christmas Carol (Hallmark, premieres 11/21): Buckle up. This one takes place in a famous location location location , which becomes the site of a Christmas Carol riff . It's packed with beloved celebrities from country world, including Wynonna Judd and Sara Evans. Our main character is a TV producer in charge of a wacky holiday stunt (a Christmas TV special) who cares too much about work . When her old flame shows up, she begins seeing ghosts, brought to her by, of course, actual supernatural forces . Will she learn the true meaning of Christmas ?

The Angel Tree (Hallmark M&M, premieres 11/21): A writer is trying to figure out who's granting wishes. She bumps into an old flame . Could it be ... the old flame and the gifter are one and the same ? (They might not be; I'm just guessing.)

Feliz NaviDAD (Lifetime, premieres 11/21): I take it back. This is the worst title of the season. Mario Lopez ... plays a single dad to a moppet . Yeah. He's also a high school principal. Because he lost his wife around Christmas, he's lost the Christmas spirit , and only a musician he meets (so there's probably music! ) can lift his spirits. This one is directed by Melissa Joan Hart, so I assume that during filming, Clarissa really did explain it all.

The Christmas House (Hallmark, premieres 11/22): Beloved celebrities Treat Williams and Sharon Lawrence play parents who ask their two sons to come home for Christmas. One of them runs into an old flame . The other is in the process of adopting a moppet with his husband. That's right: It's not a falling-in-love story, it's an adoption story, but Hallmark is bringing you this Christmas the story of a gay couple . Hallmark is!

A Godwink Christmas: Second Chance, First Love (Hallmark M&M, premieres 11/22): This is another growing holiday movie franchise. The idea is that coincidences are called "Godwinks." (Hallmark M&M has the more dramatic films of the season as compared to the regular Hallmark Channel, and also the ones with the more overt religious content.) Here, a man winds up in traffic next to his old flame . He's also got moppets !

Homemade Christmas (Lifetime, premieres 11/22): The only things I really can tell you about this one are that a woman becomes "the ultimate holiday freelance assistant for hire" and "must choose between the man of her aspirations and Mr. Right," which sort of makes it seem like I know which one is going to win. You're giving away the game, blurb writers!

Dashing Home For Christmas (UPTV, premieres 11/22): She's a serious career woman trying to get home for Christmas! She's organized; he's free-spirited! They're strangers, stuck with each other on an urgent road trip trying to get where they're going on time.

Dolly Parton's Christmas On The Square (Netflix, premieres 11/22): Dolly Parton plays the angel brought by actual supernatural forces to make a rich mean lady played by Christine Baranski aware of the true meaning of Christmas in her adorable hometown . There's a bunch of original Dolly Parton music here (she's an executive producer, as is Debbie Allen!) as well. Jenifer Lewis! Treat Williams! The stops have been pulled out!

Heart Of The Holidays (Hallmark, premieres 11/23): Now this one seems like they're just putting in the parts I need for this guide, because the description reads, verbatim: "Career-driven Sam returns to her hometown for the holidays where she comes face-to-face with her high school boyfriend , Noah. Together they rediscover what matters most in life ." I have no idea what this actually entails.

A Christmas Tree Grows In Colorado (Hallmark, premieres 11/24): A woman planning a treasured holiday tradition (the town Christmas party) needs a tree from what I'm guessing is a grumpy man who doesn't appreciate the true meaning of Christmas . But you know how things tend to go when you're in the right location location location .

Happiest Season (Hulu, premieres 11/25): Certainly one of the highest-profile new films of the season, this one features Kristen Stewart and Mackenzie Davis as a couple who go home to Davis' family for Christmas, buuuuut she's not out to them yet. Daniel Levy plays one of their pals, and the film is directed by Clea Duvall. (I'm pretty psyched for this one.)

Good Morning Christmas! (Hallmark, premieres 11/25): Hallmark stalwart Alison Sweeney and Buffy The Vampire Slayer boyfriend Marc Blucas play professional rivals -- TV hosts who are sent to an adorable small town over Christmas. While they participate in a ruse in which they get along, they might learn that it's becoming all too real (dun dun DUN!).

The Christmas Chronicles: Part Two (Netflix, premieres 11/25): If you liked the original, which cast Kurt Russell as Santa Claus, perhaps you'd like to revisit this actual supernatural forces movie in which Santa is joined by Goldie Hawn in helping save Christmas once again, with the help of the same siblings who made such trouble last time.

Christmas By Starlight (Hallmark, premieres 11/26): A lawyer finds that her family's adorable small business , a cafe, is going to be demolished. What's more, the mean suit man who's in charge of its demise won't even listen! But after he asks her to participate in a ruse to impress his father, maybe she can work something out. If you know what we mean.

Five Star Christmas (Hallmark, premieres 11/27): If you think this sounds like it's about Yelp reviews, you're not wrong! A woman's family owns an adorable small business , a bed and breakfast. A journalist who's an "incognito travel critic" appeals to her, but what will happen when she learns that he might hold her family's fate in his hands, because the critic and the new man are one and the same ?

Dear Christmas (Lifetime, premieres 11/27): Okay. So. Melissa Joan Hart plays the host of a podcast that is entirely about holiday-themed love stories. (I wonder whether Groundhog Day counts.) But she herself is unlucky in love. Back in her adorable hometown , she meets a firefighter played by ... Jason Priestley. The '90s nostalgia is strong with this one. It also has a whole honkload of beloved celebrities including Ed Begley, Jr., Robin Givens, and Faith Prince.

Christmas Waltz (Hallmark, premieres 11/28): Hallmark stalwart Lacey Chabert plays a woman whose wedding is canceled. But she finds some hope in a dance instructor! The photos also suggest a moppet .

USS Christmas (Hallmark M&M, premieres 11/28): A journalist goes on a "tiger cruise" (where loved ones of service members get to join them), where she meets a "handsome naval officer" and also discovers a mystery that needs solving. It's a quest!

Merry Liddle Christmas Wedding (Lifetime, premieres 11/28): This one is a sequel to a movie from last year. It finds Kelly Rowland getting married and her "boisterous family" being boisterous. Family chaos!

If I Only Had Christmas (Hallmark, premieres 11/29): Hallmark stalwart Candace Cameron Bure plays a "cheerful publicist" who works with a "cynical business owner" for charity. It doesn't even say what kind of cynical business!

People Presents: Once Upon A Main Street (Lifetime, premieres 11/29): Again with the year-round Christmas shop! Here, a woman who plans to set one up finds that she's in competition for the space with a handsome stranger who quickly becomes her professional rival . They're both at the mercy of the owner ( beloved celebrity Patrick Duffy). Who will win? Let's just say ... I'm betting it's both of them. [eyebrow waggle] Also: "People Presents" does indeed refer to People , the magazine. So the magazine is presenting the movie in conjunction with Lifetime, which is a kind of naming rights I hadn't even thought about.

Christmas In Evergreen: Bells Are Ringing (Hallmark, premieres 11/30): The Christmas In Evergreen franchise is several movies old now. In this one, Michelle, played by Holly Robinson Peete, is about to get married, but the woman helping her out is questioning her own relationship, just as the adorable small town they love prepares to open a museum.

The Christmas Listing (Lifetime, premieres 11/30): This is the first one I can remember that actually describes its serious career woman as "uptight" in the synopsis, but there you go! She works in real estate and winds up stuck at an inn over Christmas with her professional rival while she tries not to accidentally discover the true meaning of Christmas . I'm betting it will not work. Beloved celebrity Greg Evigan!

Angela's Christmas Wish (Netflix, premieres 12/1): These are characters from Frank McCourt, and it's an animated story about a girl who reunites her family for Christmas.

Spotlight on Christmas (Lifetime, premieres 12/4): An actress retreats to her adorable hometown to avoid bad publicity. But a reporter is hot on her trail, and a local man is just hot. WHAT WILL HAPPEN?

A Little Christmas Charm (Hallmark M&M, premieres 12/5): A jewelry designer needs to find the owner of a bracelet, and she enlists a journalist to help her. It's a quest!

Let's Meet Again On Christmas Eve (Lifetime, premieres 12/5): The always charming Kyla Pratt stars in this story of a couple who miss their shot at romance, only to find that they're reunited a couple of years later while they're thrust into joint event planning for a Christmas wedding.

A Christmas Surprise (BET, premieres 12/5): Family chaos ensues when a young woman returns home with the fiancé nobody knew she had. Will the family come together with the help of the Christmas spirit? I'm going to guess ... yes.

Time For Us To Come Home For Christmas (Hallmark M&M, premieres 12/5): This rather ungainly title is attached to a story in which Hallmark stalwart Lacey Chabert stars as one of several people who are invited to a Christmas gathering at an inn. They are all connected! (Did you guess that? Sure you did.)

Christmas She Wrote (Hallmark, premieres 12/6): Hallmark stalwart Danica McKellar and stone fox Dylan Neal star. She's a romance writer with a column, but he cancels it right before Christmas, making him quite a mean suit man . So she retreats to her probably adorable hometown , where she stays with her family. He, however, shows up to try to fix everything.

Christmas Dilemma (TV One, premieres 12/6): Directed by Essence Atkins, this is the story of a couple that encounters family chaos when their families descend during the holidays.

Christmas Ever After (Lifetime, premieres 12/6): Ali Stroker, who won a Tony for Oklahoma! not long ago, plays a romance novelist who likes to hole up over Christmas to write. But this year, it's not going too well until the man who has bought the adorable small business where she likes to visit begins to remind her of romantic heroes she has written. I definitely can't remember a film on one of these networks that featured a lead who uses a wheelchair, so that's another new thing this season.

Marry Me This Christmas (Bounce, premieres 12/6): A pastor falls for his old flame who happens to be both his parishioner and already engaged.

The Santa Squad (Lifetime, premieres 12/7) A woman joins the "Santa Squad" to help cheer up a widower and his moppets who need to rediscover the true meaning of Christmas . Can she bring the magic back? I'm guessing she can.

A Christmas For Mary (OWN, premieres 12/8) Extremely beloved celebrity Vivica A. Fox plays the demanding boss of a journalist who has to come up with a story for Christmas. She follows a mystery to an adorable small town where she realizes that it's a quest!

Inn Love For Christmas (Lifetime, premieres 12/11) Boooooo for this horrible pun title . A serious career woman returns to her adorable hometown to acquire the adorable small business -- an inn — which is also being pursued by an old flame who quickly becomes a professional rival .

Cross Country Christmas (Hallmark, premieres 12/12): For whatever reason, old flames (at least old friends?) wind up running into trouble on a road trip home for the holidays, and they're basically snowed in in transit, as they try to make it home.

A Glenbrooke Christmas (Hallmark M&M, premieres 12/12): Hallmark stalwart Autumn Reeser plays a very rich woman who sneaks off to an adorable small town to celebrate Christmas. Does she meet a hot fireman? You know the answer.

The Christmas Setup (Lifetime, premieres 12/12): Like Hallmark, Lifetime also has a gay couple this year, but in this case, their love story is the central plot. Specifically, a man returns to his adorable hometown where he is set up with an old flame . Their feelings develop over the holidays, but he must decide whether to forgo the big business opportunity to pursue love. Suspenseful! This one features beloved celebrity Fran Drescher.

The Christmas Lottery (BET, premieres 12/12): Reginald VelJohnson plays a man who wins the lottery and tries to bring together his daughters and find his ticket. It's family chaos !

Christmas Comes Twice (Hallmark, premieres 12/13): Tamera Mowry-Housley plays a driven professional woman who has a chance to get back her old flame . When a treasured holiday tradition in the form of a Christmas carnival comes around, she winds up traveling back in time, thanks to actual supernatural forces . Can she get it right this time?

Unlocking Christmas (Hallmark M&M): A woman and a man both receive a key and a riddle. It's a quest!

A Sugar & Spice Holiday (Lifetime, premieres 12/13): It's safe to say that recent advances in representation for Black and Latinx people in these films have not extended, in general, to characters or actors with Asian heritage. Here, however, you have your basic adorable small town in Maine where protagonist Suzie's parents run the local lobster place. Not only is the woman Chinese-American; her father is played by the great Tzi Ma. Suzie winds up entering the local gingerbread contest and working with an old flame to make gingerbread infused with her baking grandma's traditions.

Lonestar Christmas (Lifetime, premieres 12/14): It's all about location location location , as a single mom to a couple of moppets goes to Texas to spend Christmas with their grandfather. An attractive local — with a restaurant — makes an impression.

Cooking Up Christmas (OWN, premieres 12/15): A chef takes a job with a single man and his moppets over the Christmas holiday. Can she love this family and also pursue her dream of opening her own adorable small business ?

Holiday Heartbreak (BET, premieres 12/16): A man learns that actual supernatural forces mean that his daughter is paying the price in her love life for his past sins, and he has to make things right.

Christmas On The Menu (Lifetime, premieres 12/18): Yup, it's another food one. A chef who grew up in an adorable small business (a B&B) goes home for Christmas, but a grumpy critic who might put a hole in the B&B's reputation comes around to grump up the holidays. Can the two make peace?

A Christmas Carousel (Hallmark, premieres 12/19): Hallmark stalwart Rachel Boston plays a woman hired by a royal family to fix a carousel. She might fall in love with the prince. Might.

Swept Up By Christmas (Hallmark M&M, premieres 12/19): You know what doesn't get enough attention as a romantic activity? Cleaning! In this story, two people who handle clutter in different ways — one cleans, one sells antiques — work together to "downsize" an estate. This is absolutely real. Horrible pun title .

A Christmas Exchange (Lifetime, premieres 12/19): A woman trades her home for a rich guy's London apartment. While they're in touch about the swap, they discover that they also like each other, which I would find very creepy, since the last thing you want when you're interested in someone is for them to have free rein to go through your stuff.

Love, Lights, Hanukkah! (Hallmark, premieres 12/20): A woman "takes a DNA test revealing that she's Jewish," and she falls in love over Hanukkah, and I am very curious about how this one is going to go over. Beloved celebrity Marilu Henner is in it.

Project Christmas Wish (Hallmark M&M, premieres 12/20): Details are sketchy on this one, but it seems to have to do with a woman who grants wishes. Look, I didn't say the titles were all hard to parse.

A Christmas Break (Lifetime, premieres 12/20): A teacher is sad because her school is closing. But a Hollywood actor who grew up in her adorable small town is back, and between the two of them, perhaps they can save the critical community asset .

First Christmas (OWN, premieres 12/22): A woman who grew up in foster care spends the holidays with her birth family, including several siblings, one of whom is hesitant about introducing her girlfriend to the family. It sounds more like a heartwarming family story than family chaos, but either way, I'm betting they have a merry Christmas.

Fall may have just begun, but it's never too early to start getting into the Christmas spirit! With one month left to go before Hallmark kickstarts its annual holiday programming event on Oct. 23, the network has unveiled the full movie lineup, including the complete schedule, cast lists and plot summaries for its upcoming originals.

Even amid a pandemic , Hallmark will match last year's output of original holiday films with 40, as part of Hallmark Channel 's "Countdown to Christmas" and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries' "Miracles of Christmas." ET exclusively premieres promos for three of those new films, Hallmark Channel's  Jingle Bell Bride  and  Chateau Christmas , as well as Hallmark Movies & Mysteries'  Holly & Ivy .

Among its 40 movie premieres is  The Christmas House , which will feature a main storyline about  a married gay couple , played by openly gay actors Jonathan Bennett   and Brad Harder , who are looking to adopt a child; a dedicated Hanukkah film, Love, Lights, Hanukkah!, about a restaurateur ( Mia Kirshner ) who discovers she's Jewish via a DNA test; and an increase in diverse leads. And like Lifetime (which will debut holiday movies centered on a gay couple and an Asian family ), Hallmark has taken a step forward in its commitment to inclusivity  within its storytelling and casting.

Of course, Hallmark is still banking on network favorites   Candace Cameron Bure , Lacey Chabert , Rachael Leigh Cook , Ryan Paevey, Tamera Mowry-Housley , Danica McKellar , Holly Robinson Peete , Sarah Drew and Catherine Bell to headline a handful of new films. As previously announced , Hallmark is also expanding its stable of actors by welcoming several newcomers to the network, including Broadway star Aaron Tveit ,  Janel Parrish , Jeremy Jordan , Marisol Nichols , Alvina August, Nazneen Contractor  and  Rochelle Aytes.

“Our holiday table is bigger and more welcoming than ever. This year’s movies reflect our most diverse representation of talent, narratives, and families, including The Christmas House , featuring a storyline about a gay couple looking to adopt their first child, and starring Jonathan Bennett in an ensemble cast,” said Michelle Vicary, Executive VP of Programming at Hallmark. “Our movies are rooted in warmth and positivity, meaningful connections, family gatherings, and seasonal traditions -- a winning formula we hope will bring our millions of viewers much-needed levity and holiday cheer at the end of a tough year.”

"Countdown to Christmas," which premieres 23 original movies, and "Miracles of Christmas," which debuts 17, will both conclude Dec. 20. In July, it was announced that  When Calls the Heart  will continue its annual tradition of a Christmas special , though it was not listed as part of Hallmark's official holiday announcement on Wednesday.

Additionally, Hallmark is going all out with its yearly holiday experience with a slew of new products to make your evenings in front of the TV that much more enjoyable -- from new Christmas-themed Hallmark branded wine, a Monopoly game, holiday tea tins, books, a chocolate calendar and flowers, as well as new holiday apparel, glassware and home decor.

“For more than a decade, Hallmark holiday movies have represented the gold standard that many aspire to replicate,” said Crown Media’s President and CEO  Wonya Lucas . “What we bring to the table and what truly sets us apart is an immersive holiday experience that has become a pop culture phenomenon for millions of fans. From our signature movies, to food and wine, to games and decorations, to clothing, music, books, and more, we have created a destination that evokes the spirit and feeling of the season in a way that is uniquely Hallmark.”

Hallmark Reveals Complete Christmas Movie Lineup For 2020

By Emily Lee

September 23, 2020

hallmark time travel christmas movie 2020

Even though it's only September—and just one day into the autumn season—Hallmark is already looking ahead to Christmas. On Wednesday (September 23), the Hallmark Channel released the full details, including the schedule, cast and plot lines, for their upcoming holiday-themed programming. For fans of the networks yuletide fare, this will definitely feel like an early Christmas present.

While some Hallmark Channel fans may have been worried about whether there would be any new holiday films this year due to the ongoing pandemic, there was ultimately no need to fret. The network still managed to produce the same amount of holiday movies as they did last year. Viewers can expect to see 40 new films this holiday season, which will also see the network increase the diversity seen in their holiday films. This year's slate of new films includes The Christmas House , which features a main storyline about a married gay couple, played by openly gay actors Jonathan Bennett and Brad Harder , who are hoping to adopt a child together, as well as Love, Lights, Hanukkah , which follows a restaurateur played by Mia Kirshner who discovers she's Jewish via a DNA test.

“Our holiday table is bigger and more welcoming than ever. This year’s movies reflect our most diverse representation of talent, narratives, and families” Michelle Vicary, Executive VP of Programming at Hallmark, said in a statement “Our movies are rooted in warmth and positivity, meaningful connections, family gatherings, and seasonal traditions—a winning formula we hope will bring our millions of viewers much-needed levity and holiday cheer at the end of a tough year.”

Hallmark Media announces the first original holiday movie for 2023 with “A Biltmore Christmas,” starring Bethany Joy Lenz (“Good Sam,” “ An Unexpected Christmas ”) and Kristoffer Polaha (“ We Wish You a Married Christmas ,” Jurassic World: Dominion ). Production is set to begin this January in Asheville, North Carolina at the historic Biltmore Estate, renowned for its classic holiday traditions since 1895. Although this National Historic Landmark has been home to many productions over the years, this movie marks the first time Biltmore Estate itself serves as the setting.

Lucy Collins (Lenz) is a screenwriter who lands the job of a lifetime when she’s hired to write the script for a remake of the beloved holiday movie His Merry Bride! First filmed in 1947 at beautiful Biltmore House, it has long been considered a Christmas classic. As Christmas approaches, Lucy travels to Biltmore Estate for research. She joins a guided tour of the grounds where she gets insights into the history of the location and the filming of His Merry Bride! , and once inside the house, she’s drawn to a beautiful hourglass. When Lucy accidentally knocks it over, she finds herself transported back in time to 1946 – the Golden Age of Hollywood – as cast and crew prepare to film His Merry Bride! at Biltmore. Lucy does her best to navigate an unfamiliar place as a woman out of time, charming some and raising suspicions of others. It’s not long before Lucy catches the eye of the film’s dashing lead Jack Huston (Polaha) and although she initially rebuffs his advances, their connection soon becomes undeniable. Lucy’s sudden appearance sets off a chain of events that put the production in jeopardy. Before she can return to the present, she must make things right or threaten to alter the future forever. Lucy has one chance to go home but must say goodbye to the man who might be her soulmate unless some Christmas magic can keep the curtain from closing on their love story.

Longtime Hallmark Stars Unsure Whether Network Will Air Their New Christmas Movie

M arcus Rosner and Brittany Bristow, two longtime fan-favorites on Hallmark Channel, just began filming their new Christmas movie in Alberta, Canada. “Dear Christmas Hearts” is scheduled to shoot in Edmonton and surrounding areas from April 15 to April 30, 2024, according to ACTRA Alberta‘s production schedule.

Rosner’s posted several social media updates already, thrilling many Hallmark fans. Only problem? He’s not sure if the movie will air as part of Hallmark Channel’s 2024 Countdown to Christmas, given that the film doesn’t have a home yet.

Here’s what you need to know:

Marcus Rosner & Brittany Bristow Won’t Know Where New Movie Will Air Until It’s Completed

“Dear Christmas Hearts” is being made by Reel One and Northern Gateway Films, a production company that Rosner is a business partner in. The firm primarily rom-coms and other TV movies in Rosner’s hometown of Edmonton, he told CBC in 2022.

That’s something the filmmaker is particularly proud of, he told the outlet, since he wasn’t even aware movie-making was a possible career choice while growing up in the area, focusing his energy then on the lowest hanging fruit — hockey and construction. Now, he hopes younger creatives realize they can get into filmmaking, too.

“I want anyone who’s interested in doing what I’m doing or something similar, to know that they can,” he told CBC.

On April 15, Rosner posted a behind-the-scenes video revealing Bristow as his newest co-star, marking the third rom-com they’re working on together. The two also appeared together in the January 2023 Hallmark movie “The Love Club: Nicole’s Pen Pal.” A year later, Bristow appeared in Rosner’s Hallmark movie “Love on the Right Course.”

“Look who we’ve got out here in Edmonton, Alberta,” Rosner smiled, panning his phone to show Bristow waiting for an interview and waving “hi” to the camera.

Among the many fans who expressed how happy they were to see the two paired in an upcoming film, one wrote, “I am so happy 😊 that Brittany and you are doing another movie 🎬 together. I can hardly wait for this one. I also love Christmas 🎄 😍 ❤️ 🔥movies!”

In the caption of the video, Rosner wrote, “Dragged the one and only @britbristow out to Big Eddy for the next @northern.gateway.films + @reeloneentertainment Christmas Flic. Who’s gonna check this one out this holiday season?🎅🏻🎄🎥”

Lots of fans raised their hands by liking the post or commenting — including some who asked if it would air on Hallmark Channel. Rosner replied to one of them, “TBD!”

Because it’s produced independently, the movie will likely be pitched to networks and streamers including Hallmark after filming has wrapped.

Marcus Rosner & Brittany Bristow Juggle Commitments With Hallmark & Independent Production Companies

Hallmark Marcus Rosner and Brittany Bristow in 2023’s “The Love Club”

Rosner loves hiring local talent for his Northern Gateway productions, occasionally even giving drama students from the local high school roles as extras, he told the outlet. But the company also brings in recognizable, often Canadian-based co-stars like Bristow to help ensure the movies are purchased and aired by well-known networks or streaming services.

In December, for instance, Rosner starred with Hallmark regular Rhiannon Fish in a rom-com called “Team Bride,” which aired in Canada on City TV, he shared on Instagram. Northern Gateway also produced his movie “Coupled Up for Christmas” with Sara Canning, he shared, which was picked up by Paramount+.

In those instances, in which an independent film company produces the project, actors typically have no say in where the film they starred in will eventually air. That’s an arrangement that backfired in 2023 for Hallmark star Jodie Sweetin, when an independent title she starred in was picked up by Great American Family, a network she said she was “disappointed” about appearing on.

Hallmark Media works closely with a variety of trusted production companies on its year-round slate of rom-coms and mysteries, but regularly handles casting and lining up directors for those films, leaning on a stable of fan-favorites while also cultivating a new generation of younger talent.

Both Rosner and Bristow juggle their independent movie commitments with Hallmark projects.  The first Hallmark movie Bristow appeared in was 2017’s “Love Blossoms,” per IMDb. In 2023, she starred with Andrew Walker in “A Safari Romance.”

Rosner, meanwhile, first joined Hallmark in 2014 as a recurring character on “When Calls The Heart,” per the Daily Express. In 2023, he appeared in Hallmark’s one-season series “Ride” and September’s “Notes of Autumn” with Ashley Williams. In December, “An Ice Palace Romance” with Celeste Desjardins premiered on Hallmark’s streaming service, Hallmark Movies Now.

KNOWN for their picturesque settings and breathtaking backdrops, Hallmark Channel made-for-TV movies and TV series are typically filmed in Vancouver, Canada.

Hallmark Channel's Falling In Love In Niagara, however, was actually filmed on-location at the stunning, surreal, and spectacular Niagara Falls , allowing its cast and crew to soak in the falls in all of their majestic glory.

Hallmark Channel actress Jocelyn Hudon stars as Madeline in the 2024 made-for-TV movie, Falling In Love In Niagara, as part of Hallmark's Spring Into Love 2024 series

Falling In Love In Niagara is about a young woman, Madeline, whose fiancé leaves her right before their upcoming wedding .

Devastated, Madeline decides to go to Niagara Falls, on what would have been the couple's honeymoon trip, with her sister, Harley.

While taking in the sights and attractions at Niagara Falls and the surrounding town, Madeline "reconnects with her adventurous side" and "learns to let go," as summarized by Hallmark .

She also meets Mike, a tour guide who "convinces Maddie to embrace a touch of spontaneity so they can discover the hidden wonders of Niagara Falls together," as reported by Parade's sneak peak .

The Falls span the border between Ontario in Canada and New York in the US .

Both Ontario and New York have a city named Niagara Falls adjacent to the Niagara River, sharing the waterfalls in between.

The cast and crew both got in on the fun while on set, and took some time to visit Niagara Falls for themselves.

Monica Rodriguez Knox posted that she had a blast enjoying the "beautiful scenic scenes of Niagara" on her Instagram page.

The movie's makeup department head, Alyssa "Aly" Morden-Hayley, also posted some scenic shots to her social media page.

"that’s a wrap on Niagara," she captioned the post , alongside a movie clapper board and water wave emojis.

Dan Jeannotte, one of the movie's main cast members, recalls that "it was amazing to get to be in Niagara, and to get to do all these fun, like dare-devilish kind of adventure games was great," as reported by Niagara Frontier Publications .

"I mean, there's so much natural beauty in that area," he said.

"Obviously, the showstopper is the falls; but then you've got the beautiful vineyards – the wineries nearby – which is a whole other kind of beauty, and a whole other cultural sort of a touchstone."

The TV movie is directed by Marita Grabiak, who is no stranger to Hallmark productions.

Hudon is perhaps best known for her recurring TV roles in The Strain (2017), Thunder (2017), Ice (2018), When Calls the Heart (2018–2019), and When Hope Calls (2019).

She's also appeared in episodes of Criminal Minds , Dave, 9-1-1, The Rookie: Feds, and Chicago Fire .

Jeannotte is best known for his portrayals of:

  • James Stuart in the TV series Reign
  • Brandon Russell in the TV series Good Witch
  • Ryan Decker in the TV series The Bold Type

He's also appeared in Fargo , Designated Survivor , and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds , along with providing his voiceover work to the Assassin's Creed video game series.
